Yeah I'm 1/4 Norwegian and I was pretty into Norwegian history stuff growing up, and the viking era is an especially fun part of that :) We were having a viking day at work, and someday I will have one of those proper historically accurate viking dresses like the ones I was reblogging, but for now I'm pretty pleased with my loosely viking-y tunic look:

The tunic's from like a larp/renn faire type clothing store and it's just sort of generally Nordic, but I am quite fond of it. Also if I wanted to be more historical-looking I know I should've worn like boots, but the tennies are much more comfy for a long day of work. I also have a braided leather bracelet that really would've completed the look but I could not find it for the life of me this morning and I was late already so. But, I did have my viking sword necklace from the York viking museum and some other jewelry I felt like fit the Norse beadwork aesthetic decently. Also speaking of viking swords...

You can't just tell me it's a viking theme day and *not* expect me to bring my viking (foam larp) swords! Like, yes I know that swords were comparatively rare and only for the wealthy who devoted a significant amount of their attention to fighting vs the much more common ax which had multiple farm applications... but swords are cool. And I can be a rich warrior viking ;)

Also, "sword*s* as in plural?" you may ask... Heck yes, I reply.

I actually left them in my car all day but I just had to have them with me, and it worked out for photoshoot purposes. This longsword is the one I use more often when I swordfight my boyfriend because having a longer sword is definitely important in combat I've learned, but both are very fun to do battle with and also both bring me great joy when I look upon them :) I do think the short sword is a touch prettier though, and the hilt is fancier:

Plus the handle is actually leather-wrapped versus the longsword which just has a black foam grip, though I know you can't really see either very well under my hands.

So, yeah. You encounter me in the museum restroom, wyd? ;)

it was another ordinary day at college, but for yn, it felt anything but ordinary. the weight of unrequited love had become a burden she could no longer bear. countless times, she had confessed her feelings to her friend — sana, only to be met with rejection. but today, yet again yn determine to confess her feelings towards the latter.

yn's heart pounded in her chest as she stood in front of sana's class, waiting for the beauty to finish her class, her hands trembling with anticipation. she had gathered all her courage to confess her feelings once again, hoping that maybe — just maybe this time sana would finally reciprocate it.

after what feels like years, sana's figure finally appeared and yn approached her. "hey sana, there's something i need to tell you," yn began, her voice filled with nervousness. "oh, hey yn, what is it?"

"i've been carrying these feelings for you for a long time, and i can't keep them to myself any longer. i... i like you, sana."

sana's eyes widened slightly, her brows furrowing as she processed yn's words. she let out a soft chuckle, assuming it was another lighthearted moment between friends. "oh, yn, you're always so sweet. i really like you too! you're an amazing friend."

yn's heart sank, the weight of sana's continuous obliviousness hitting her hard. she tried to hide her disappointment, forcing a smile to mask her true feelings. "haha... yeah. anyway, i've got to go, see you sana."

with mixed emotions, yn turned and walked away, her heart aching from the unrequited feelings. yn was exhausted, tired of pouring her heart out and yet again receiving nothing in return. so she had made a difficult decision to finally move on from sana, which is by — distancing herself from sana. and so the process of moving on started.

in the days that followed, yn focused on avoiding minatozaki sana at all cost. from ignoring sana's hellos to avoiding eyes contact with sana.

as yn walked through the bustling hallways, her eyes caught a glimpse of sana chatting and laughing with their mutual friends — myoui mina and hirai momo. the ache in her chest grew stronger. she missed the warmth of sana's presence, the way her smile could brighten even the darkest of days. but yn remind herself that she couldn't continue living in a cycle of heartache anymore.

days turned into weeks, and yn's absence did not go unnoticed by sana. her heart felt heavy and her mind felt confused with yn's sudden distance.

"did i do something wrong?" sana huffed. "quit complaining and just confront her about it sana" mina said. "yeah, you should do that instead of whining about it to us every damn time." momo complained.

the trio are currently in mina's apartment — having a study session that quickly turned into sana pouring her life problem session.

"you don't get it, its just so sudden you know? did she find out about my feelings towards her?. is that why she started avoiding me? she won't even look at me anymore. guys please help me." sana continued rambling. "like i said sana, confront her about it. you won't know what happens to her if you keep complaining and do nothing about it." mina said frustrated with sana's whining.

"fine ugh, i guess i will." sana rolled her eyes as her mind kept wandering about yn.

the next day, sana mustered her courage to confront yn. she found the latter sitting alone in the campus library, her gaze fixed on a book but her mind clearly elsewhere.

"sana?" yn looked up, surprise evident in her eyes.

sana took a deep breath, her voice laced with vulnerability. "yn, why do you keep avoiding me? did i do something wrong to you? please tell me if i did something wrong to you. i miss you yn."

yn couldn't ignore the longing in sana's voice, but her heart was guarded. "sana, you did nothing wrong. i've been busy with assignments and projects, that's all. "

sana's brows furrowed, her eyes searching yn's face for any signs of deception. "yn, i know you well enough to sense when something is bothering you. it feels like there's a wall between us, and i don't know why so please, be honest with me."

yn's gaze faltered, her heart feeling heavy with the weight of unspoken emotions. she took a deep breath, gathering her courage to share her true feelings.

"sana, i can't bear this distance between us any longer," yn confessed, her voice filled with a mix of nervousness and determination. "the truth is, i have feelings for you. more than just friendship. every time we're apart, i feel a void in my heart, and i miss you more than words can express."

"and i've been avoiding you because i thought we couldn't be more than friend, with your constant rejection, moving on is the only thing i could do."

sana's eyes widened in surprise, her heart skipping a beat. she hadn't expected yn to have the same feelings. a sense of relief filled her chest.

"y-yn, i didn't know... i didn't think you'd felt the same way," sana stammered, her voice filled with a mix of astonishment and joy. " and i'm so sorry, i've been rejecting you because i never thought you would like me back, its just too good to be true."

sana took a step closer, her eyes shining with sincerity. "yn if you're willing, please let me take you out on a date."

yn's guarded heart melted, her voice filled with a newfound happiness. "sana, i'd be crazy if i said I don't want to."

a smile spread across sana's face, her hand reaching out to gently touch yn's cheek. "i'm glad we're on the same page, yn. i promise i will take you on the best ever date you've ever had in your life."

and so, in the quiet corners of the college library, yn and sana embarked on a new chapter of their relationship. and in each other's presence, yn and sana found solace, blissfully content in the knowledge that their unspoken longing had finally found its voice — a love that would flourish and endure for a lifetime.

scenario/ramble: behold my scrapped art of the concept i had ahahahhahahahah I actually have jinchul and thomas in my drafts but like i hate how they ended up SOOOO anyway here!!! I'll ramble a bit on the three because it feels way too weird to also include thomas and jinchul because they're... not there so yeah anyway this was supposed to be around the concept of mana overload and how this screw up their psyche and YOU will be acting as a researcher who will help to facilitate them because higher ups said so! anyway the main idea is two of them (jinchul and hae-in) would be 'cured' or whatevr.. but they used to be patients they were just given jobs on the facility just to prove themselves and blah blah which is why u shouldn't trust hae-in or even jinchul for the matter.. erm and of course we have the national hunters who r complete psychos and the main reason why ure there LMAOO you can try to guess which one of them threatened the department to put you in their block but it's one of them for sure!! okay anyway if uve read allat tysm anyway ill work on something else and hibernate again baiaiai ALSO!!! I'm gonna ramble about some headcanons and lore for them under the cut, continue with caution bc I'm insane

These two are my brainrot rn, don't even joke lad. And I wanna tell yall their name meanings too bc I like them a lot 🥹 Zephra's means "west wind" derived from Greek, and it's the feminine version of Zephyr. Tyrian was a type of purple dye used by the Ancient Phoenicians, huge huge HUGE thanks to my pookie bear @miothefish for helping me out with his name!!! Also he has Lisa's butterfly earring and you can't see bc of the angle but Zephra has the rose that went in her hair holding her ponytail <3

I'm also making a massive family tree for the characters as a go along, and just the jeanlisa tree is taking up half of the canvas bc of the KoF and Sumeru characters since Cyno is their uncle and the rest of the gang are their honorary uncles 😭 I'll be posting that once the series is done/all the requests are finished/I run out of ships and otps I enjoy

Here's an alternative version with some more info on most of the characters I wanted to briefly mention in their relation to them; Tyrian likes calling Eula his aunt too even though she was never really considered one for them so it's kind of like her unofficial title she pretends to dislike but she loves it and dotes on Tyrian 🤭 She and Diluc also helped train Zephra with a claymore and Diluc kind of became a parental figure to her in her teen years after Lisa's passing 🥺 She also feels like she's outshined by Jean and that she's not smart or powerful enough to follow in Lisa's footsteps (something that Lisa wouldn't want anyways bc it led her to her death 😔) rip zephra she's just like me fr

And yeah some Kaeya angst bc he's still going thru it I fear, and Jean is single mombossing but she's worried for zephra which me too dawg, im afraid to say she might be cooked 😦 Zephra is also kind of like a weird mix of Lisa when she was her age and Jean, where overall she's well-mannered and kind but she can be competitive and feel the need to push herself too much and pull a few strings to get what she wants from time to time. Tyrian is a ray of sunshine tho, he has not yet witnessed the horrors 💔 I do think that Jean is also a lot easier on him than her mom was with her so that also helps. He's very shy tho and wants to stick with Zephra or Razor most of the time, and they both have some nasty tan lines from going out with Razor and Klee and Fischl a lot 😔 Cyno also freaking loves them and dotes on them and Tyrian is getting a TCG addiction because of it smh, Cyno is also one of Zephra's favorite people and when she's in Sumeru she stays with him and Alhaitham (bc in my universe they are married ough I love cytham)

And (I think?) Klee physically and mentally ages slower than humans so I think she'd be technically 9 or 10, and Zephra is left with babysitting duty most of the time if she's home on break or smth 😭 Klee really looks up to her tho

Also, I wrote Tyrian's last bullet point like he was super young when Lisa died, but I think he was around 7 so he actually remembers Lisa better than I intended it to sound, he was just younger than Zephra (who was 11 at the time) and just didn't have as much time with her as Zeph did, but his most fond memory of Lisa was reading with her and she probably taught them some potion-making skills too.

I think there will be some abyss angst in here too at some point, since I hc Lisa to be probably an Abyss Lector/Harold (I forget which is which) um so thinking that Zeph and Tyrian experiencing some not normal things happening and Jean doesn't know what to do since Lisa also didn't really know what that dog in her was until it was too late 😔 That's what Kaeya's for tho since he's like the heir of the abyss???? Go off king. Also some touchy ragbros angst bc Kaeya is scared for Zeph knowing how close she is with Luc and he doesn't want him to push her away because of her being from the abyss or smth (they mostly made up but it's still a fear in Kaeya's mind both for him and Jean's kids)

I think that's all I wanted to touch on for now?? Mainly just thinking about domestic fluff and angst all the time now 🥺 Zeph not being able to be open with Jean bc she feels like a disappointment but Jean would literally actually die for her and shes proud of her no matter what ough im going to lose my freak dawg guess who my favorite fankid is it's super hard ik

I wrote it when i was 14 so at a certain point i didn't want to be associated with it because it didn't reflect me as much anymore. It was my big baby at the time!!! But i divorced from that a few years ago. As for the other universe fics, if i remember correctly: connor, drew, a vers where jason admits to liking him back (some point isos implied that jason DID like leo back but was too confused to do anything).... But i deleted those first because they just weren't as fun, and my own friend group was falling apart so it felt too close.

But yes, you have found me LOLOL. Isos is orphaned, but unfortunately the other fics are deleted fr. Sorry :( but thanks for enjoying it!!! 💖

The reason why i didnt delete isos too was because so many people were saying what you are now. If i could, id rewrite it (both with style and plot differences) and do a whole new remastered version. Im not sure why i decided to write his senior year when i was a freshman/sophomore LOL so I always figured I would've came back to it when I was older.... Clearly I did not.

I WAS miserable in high school, at least socially. So Leo was a little TOO personal and it made me mad when i basically did what he did towards the end. I spent some time just doing some random apolleo fics. Capolleo series, so my name should've been capolleon by then? LOLOLOL i had been majorly influenced by some now-deleted fic which is why apollo is even there 💀 but now im apollos age in the fic and im like 'hmm. Yeah maybe not...'

Then there was a fic that was coming out towards the end of isos that i felt was copying me 😭😭😭 ← 14/15 yr old feelings. Who cares! But i would update and then they would update and i was so paranoid 😭😭😭 honestly, the vibe in general for valgrace in 2018 is much different than right now, and it was much more open and varied in topics. This is not to discredit the current valgrace leaders or whatever the fuck, but the vibe is just ... Pretty different.

But yeah. Im sort of using this ask as an excuse to talk about it, but isos was SO big and what i was known for within the small vg circle (outside of the text fic at the same time 💀) so i was constantly reminded of it. And dont get me wrong, i ADORED that fic when i was writing it. I was upset whenever my life was too messy for me to drop the chapter of the month. Double updates felt so ... Um. Mature and awesome, like i was a professional 💀 i wrote leo as bisexual but he had a pretty strong inclination to men because i was figuring I'm out that I wasn't bisexual but a lesbian, but I couldn't really articulate that, especially as I was dating a guy through that fic. That was some cute little endpoint i was gonna have but its reality frightened me so it was dropped... The complexities of piperleojason were insane to think about when i was like, crying at lunch in my bf's car 😭 When it was posting, i left some really crazy A/N's showing how volatile i was at the time, that i eventually deleted. But i was so proud of it and it was a comfort to write. I think the drafts were a lot more raw but people loved it anyway.

Anyway. It's been a while since I've been able to talk about this fic. People have left the most loving comments in the world and it connected with a lot of readers. Its also my only fic that had fanart and playlists and such made for it! I was so proud of that! I dont think people understand how incredible that is and it truly is the dream for fic writers!!! I have other fics that inspired ppl, but isos was the one ppl constantly flocked to or appreciated :)

I used to cry writing some parts of it and now it just feels like an old diary entry. I haven't read it in a while and thought about remaking it (probs... As college kids though) but haven't bothered. Technical-wise, theres so many things that are dropped or forgotten or are just clumsy but thats really just a maturity thing.

he’s very angsty and emo if you couldn’t immediately tell and he has a lot of lore that I won’t get into for this post (tho pls ask if you want to Know 👀)

anyways the actual answer to the question is under the cut!

To make a long story short, Yaalon is a sub member for Team Starbreaker, though he’s not really a part of Hades Inc. He’s trying to stop Ziggurat’s plans from within basically, but he’s not an undercover agent or anything either. Like I said before it’s a whole thing. Anyways Yaalon has a very abrasive and loud personality when you get him riled up. Otherwise he seems very reclusive and quiet, mostly keeping to himself.

Yaalon and Kyouya meet each other during Metal Masters. Wild Fang is leaving for Japan and Starbreaker happens to have a match in the same city. Yaalon and Kyouya are walking down the same street and they run into each other, Yaalon mumbles an apology and starts to walk away.

Though Kyouya’s interest is piqued because, in all of the battles so far though, Yaalon hasn’t fought in any of them. His other teammates clean up the competition so quickly they don’t need him, so his abilities and skills are all secret. Which means Kyouya is like “if I fight him then I will give myself a tactical advantage and this isn’t an excuse to battle someone new, what do you mean?” so being the person is he challenges Yaalon, half expecting to be ignored. But to his surprise, Yaalon accepts.

They have their battle but it ends up being unfinished for some reason, haven’t worked out those specifics. Kyouya doesn’t like having unfinished battles so that ticks him off, but also the two of them just…have very similar personalities so they don’t play off each other well at first lmao.

I can see them actually getting along when they do sort out their differences, but when you have two very anger-prone people in the same room it’s only a matter of time before they get pissed off. Yaalon’s attitude in general just makes Kyouya mad because he acts so aloof and uncaring and Kyouya can’t stand not getting a reaction out of him.

And Yaalon doesn’t like being bothered in that way so when Kyouya pushes his buttons, he *really* pushes them. I think they’d get into useless arguments or just be like “ugh I can’t STAND him” while actually not minding each other’s company all that much. They’d just have to sit in silence for things to work fjfnsng

They have a begrudging respect for each other but that doesn’t mean they like it. I can absolutely see them riling each other up and picking at each other’s nerves like siblings LMAO. theyre so dumb i love them.

The parallels between Riku and Owen to me are so batshit insane I can't not talk about them. I've held back on mentioning them for so long but I truly can't stop thinking about it. Riku starts out as the best friend to the main character, he's a little in over his head, he teases him, but it's clear that their relationship is a tight bond and matters to him. Sora, the main character, leaves him. Riku goes into the darkness.

Curt saw Owen as his best friend, at least post fall, and I'd like to believe Owen felt the same towards Curt. Because it felt like they were all the other had. They're the only one that knows their secret, they're the only one who they can ever talk about it to because they'll lose everything if it's even thought of that they may in any way be gay. When Curt leaves Owen, he spirals. He loses himself, maybe he even thought this was who he was supposed to be all along.

Riku-Ansem is the Ansem possessed version of Riku, the one who's under his control and doesn't have much say in what he does. To me, this is the DMA. He's following orders he probably doesn't want to follow, he doesn't care about BVN's plan, he wants to get his deed and get out of there, in the end he also wants to get his revenge on Curt. Riku-Ansem doesn't care for the plan with the princesses of heart, he doesn't care if Kingdom Hearts is light or darkness, he wants to save Kairi and take Sora down. Other motive, and revenge.

Riku-Ansem, now back as Riku, gets a slightly happier ending than Owen. He gets locked in the realm of darkness, and yet finds his way out. Owen, well Owen gets shot in the head.

ALRIGHT NOW HERE'S HOPE REPLICA RIKU AKA REPLIKU IS FLOPPY DISK OWEN.

So to me, Ansem is the person who invited Owen into Chimera. Organization 13 is Chimera, and Xehanort is the Chimera head. So Organization 13 makes this replica version of Riku, basically a robot with a fake heart and memories, to taunt Sora into thinking Riku still hates him. ANYWAYS! RAMBLES UNDER DA CUT!

first and foremost. i don’t actually have any real inspiration for the way i write richter??? at least none that i’m conscious of! mostly it’s just i adopt a completely different writing style to convey the way i see richter in my head. however i do have one fanfic author that consistently influences my writing.

eloha on ao3— their writing is so intimate & purposeful and it’s genuinely beautiful to read?? everything is so smooth, & feels very personal no matter what the situation is. (i havent read any of their stuff in a while though; rip </3 )

ANYWAY NOW I GET TO RAMBLE ABT HOW RICHTER IS IN MY HEAD & WHY I WRITE HIM THE WAY THAT I DO. also i probably write him pretty ooc than he is in canon but i truly dont gaf BAHAHHS. /lh

most of the scenes we see of richter are him just being like. raunchy and skeezy. so i don’t particularly change that— i just write it differently than rejet so it at least sounds pretty whenever he’s doing some fucked shit. but i also just adore like. general vampire aesthetics. particularly their speech patterns, and how every movement they make seems buttery smooth its SICKLY. so i write richter that way. <3 like you know he’s big and bad. you know that absolutely nothing good comes from being with him no matter how close you are. but the smooth sway his hand makes when he points. the way he tilts his head so very sweetly whenever he’s asking (telling) you to do something. EUGH i wanna make everything he does sound pretty when you read it none of you understand.

OH ALSO I LIED I DO HAVE A SINGULAR INSPO I JUST REMEMBERED. (there’s surely more, but you know. whatever). august ruthven! from vanitas no carte! you all have seen me yell and scream abt him a lot and how he and richter are the same to me but REALLY. I MEAN IT. he also inspired the version of richter i have in my head <3 because rejet made him and abandoned him and i’m delusional.

i love tragic vampire lords okay. i love vampire royalty i love it when they’re in pain i love it when they hide things & i love love love it when they’re pretty & manipulative. so that’s richter in my head. yeah. Harry & Dean’s dynamic vs James & Peter’s

(Specifically in my fic honey honey)

Okay so I have a lot of little rambles about my fic bouncing around in the empty void that is my brain and ig the whole point of this blog is to spew them out so here you go :)

Matt & Fatima as Sirius & Remus:

Idk how obvious this came across in the fic but a lot of the main kids in Marlene’s class were reflections of the marauders, the most obvious probably being Matt as a parallel of Sirius (controlling parents, outshined by younger brother, used humour to make up for it, etc) and by extent, that makes Fatima his Remus. Fatima as Remus is a bit less obvious but I sprinkled stuff in there (the werewolf Halloween costume, love of reading, and her parents were similar to my interpretation of Hope & Lyall). I think my favourite thing about this parallel is that Remus watches Fatima sing Yesterday at the talent show, which I imagine came across just as sorrowful as he felt at that moment, not to mention Matt being the one to play the piano for her

These similarities are quite set in stone, but when it comes to Dean and Harry as James and Peter, I feel those lines are a lot more blurred and subtle but I wanted to explain it more because I didn’t explore it as much as I wanted in the fic..

Dean as James: this is more so about Dean’s role in the fic as Harry’s friend rather than Dean as a person. He’s the first one to let Harry join his friend group when no one else would, the first one to accept his shyness and want to be friends with him anyway. I imagine this is similar to how James treated Peter, trying to make him more involved in their group, plus them both being sports fans was a fun little bonus

Dean as Peter: on the other hand, I didn’t characterise Dean like James at all, but rather more like Peter. He’s quieter and unobtrusively funny, and more of Dean’s own traits reflect Peter’s. I made them both artists (Peter being the one to draw the map), Dean had mice on his Christmas jumper and Mary says at one point that Dean can’t keep secrets (cue my scheming laughter)

Harry as James: do I even have to explain this one? Aside from literally sharing blood, Harry’s ‘James side’ comes through the more he’s with Marlene, like doing the magic shows and he gets into arguments with bullies in a James vs Snape kinda way often in defence of his friends rather than himself. And like with the other kids’ little references, Harry has the stag Christmas jumper and yes I made him a zombie for Halloween because James is dead, sue me

Harry as Peter: this is probably the comparison I actually explain most in the fic itself (i.e. in the bathroom scene with Peter) so I won’t go into it too much here, but Harry being so quiet and ignored mirrors Peter’s own reasons for betraying his friends, as if Harry and Peter represent different outcomes of the same person

So yeah rambling over, I just kinda wanted to get my thoughts in order about all this rather than it being a mess up in my brain and I hope people found it interesting, pls let me know if you noticed any of these similarities! I’m curious to know how it came across in the fic <3

Hello my friend! <3 I will GLADLY talk about symbolism in Wings!!!

For Scylla and Charybdis in The Odyssey, they're yet another example of Odysseus' hubris. Circe literally TELLS him not to waste time arming himself, because Scylla can't be fought, and that if he does he risks losing more of his men. She frames it as "better to lose 6 men than 100" (there is NO escape from Charybdis), and he straight up doesn't listen. He doesn't tell his men about Scylla, because he's worried they'll lose hope and become afraid, and he wastes time arming himself, and in response Scylla snatches up 6 of his men and eats them in front of him. Odysseus thinks he knows best, despite messengers of gods outright TELLING him he doesn't, and at the end it leaves him alone, his whole crew dead BECAUSE OF HIM, and the only reason he's a hero is because he gets his wife back at the end. He accomplishes his goal of returning home. There's never recompense or closure for his crew. They don't matter, because in epics, the masses, the crew, the army, they don't generally matter.

In Wings, Dream fulfills the role of Poseidon for most of the fic, an active antagonist to Hob's attempts to know him and love him, and we only get flashes of him as Penelope (Hob is primarily the one who weaves and unweaves himself, constantly trying to find the combination that works that will bring Dream to him), but the thing about Wings is that all aspects of the Dreaming are eventually traced back to either Hob, who manipulates it, or Dream, who creates it. Scylla IS Dream. The massive creature that rises from the water and chastises Hob for his hubris, for daring to think he could move a single chess piece and not affect the entire game, is a direct link to Scylla's much more violent chastisement of Odysseus' hubris. Except in Wings, Hob can make the conscious choice to defy the narrative. He doesn't HAVE to be the lone hero who never learns from his mistakes. He makes the active choice to repent, and to learn, and it screws him over because it results in his lost year to the Crone! If he had chosen to ignore their advice, if he'd tried to push his way out of Charybdis, he'd still be caught in the story. So, he gains and he loses. But it's one of several events that convince him he has more control than he thinks (which had been his problem, him thinking that he had LESS control, doubting himself) over the story itself, and thus more control than he thinks over DREAM. The tone change in Hob's speaking is the biggest indication of this, when he starts talking "normally" instead of the much higher prose-poetry of early chapters. He reaches full realization when he starts calling Dream a bastard and talking frankly about loving him, that's when he's speaking author to author, equal to equal.

So yeah all of Wings is based around the idea that Dream and Hob are all variations of their own obstacles and resources. Dream is Poseidon, the storms, the devouring sea, but he's also Penelope, he's the armor of Athena, he's Argos, he's all the things that Hob creates. And Hob is Odysseus, and ALSO Penelope, and he gets the metaphors of both ship (solid, steady, he's all that's between Dream and the boundless dark of the sea) and, later on, of captain and lighthouse, to represent a sort of. Of separation from the fantasy of the story. Putting layers between himself and the sea, insulating him from Dream's absolute bullshit, but not able, and unwilling, to separate himself from Dream the BEING entirely, only Dream the metaphor.

I saw that ask about what taylor song you’d write a pazzi fic on and when you said Labyrinth, idk why but it got me thinking and this is what popped into my mind based off the chorus- am imagining azzi thinking that she and paige are about to finally be more than best friends but then paige does something and fucks it up but like they still hold on to their friendship and azzi’s trying desperately to move on from her but paige is also doing everything she can to try show azzi how sorry she is and that she’ll wait until whenever azzi’s ready to give her another chance and yeah the whole thing kinda just captures the “uh oh i’m falling in love, oh no i’m falling in love again, oh i’m falling in love, i thought the plane was going down how’d you turn it right around” from azzi’s pov.
