Ough these are all so good may I suggest some more ideas because this post has invaded my thoughts for over a week

Act 1 is gonna be mostly normal, but there’s a few hand written pen notes in the margins making sly remarked about the cheesy writing. I think Monika’s effects can range from directly editing and redacting text to writing with pen when she wants to speak directly with you. For the experience of some rando picking up the book at a library, it might seem like the last owner just vandalized the book to write random editors notes, only for it’s comments to slowly become weirder until it’s revealed that it was write by one of the characters in an attempt to speak directly to you.

This only exists as random quips up until the final part with Sayori where it doesn’t really describe the scene but instead just had mc’s thoughts like a stream of consciousness, up until he starts repeating the word never, where it repeats into the next few pages with a single line made up with that singular word, repeating over and over until is turns into the silhouette of a hanging corpse. Only then does the reader know what happened

And after a few blank pages, the hand writing of the previous owner appears, almost acting as if this was a silly accident.

“Geez, this draft went pretty badly! I don’t even know is where else to take this! Maybe I should just start over?”

After skipping through a ripped page, the story seemingly starts over as if nothing ever happened

This is where act 2 starts, at page 1 again under the ruse of a different draft, making the book seem like an incomplete project you weren’t meant to see. It’s starts the same as the first page, but now it’s got all that house of leaves spooks in there. Some examples or ideas include

When introducing the club, it reads something like this. Similar to house being written slightly different in house of leaves, so will Monika every time her name shows up

And ████, Yuri, Natsuki, and Monika all seem nice enough anyways.

Altered text can be in different fonts similar to the one with Monika’s name

or it could be overlayed onto of the original text, effectively making it unreadable as if Monika tried and failed to replace it

It could also look to be manually scribbled out with pen

Or it could have a whole text box covering a paragraph halfway through it, making pretty clear that the following words aren’t supposed to be there

Also more ripped pages. I think if this existed in real life the book would instantly become way more expensive lol

Maybe some of the secret poems can be in the text boxes, randomly being inserted midway through a page and interrupting whatever else was going on

I think when Yuri starts talking about the portrait of markov it’ll show an excerpt in the first act, but by the second act it becomes the blackout ‘nothing is real’ secret poem

Actually more blackout poems in general as Monika tries to censor more words. Blackout poems are cool

In more of the moments where Monika talks directly to the player like in the big argument scene or one of Yuri’s monologues where she slowly fades in, her dialogue will be written in pen instead of any typeface

Those text files like iiiiiii.txt and stuff also show up as tiny pen notes overlapping the actual text, writing over the scene but faint enough that you could probably ignore it

Those scenes where the game forgets it ever happens (like the play with me and water fountain scene) could have a paragraph get cut off by the page limit with the next page being ripped out and the next not following where the paragraph left off at all

Yuri’s death scene plays out like a normal scene where the narrator doesn’t acknowledge how insane everything Yuri says even is, until it gets to the part where she stabs herself where the text is suddenly cut off by a garbled mess of meaningless words, messed up fonts, redacted text, and several ink splatters. This goes on for several pages until Natsuki shows up for a quick paragraph before leaving, allowing Monika to enter

I honestly don’t know how the whole deleting thing works in a book. Logictics wise the story requires a few stretches to make a book, but it could work out. I think in the story, text is the only way the characters can interact with the real world, with Monika being able to edit it herself (this implies she can’t operate a writing program the same way she can’t code. L) I guess instead of the the command panel announcing everyone’s character files being deleted, she’ll just type out that everyone died, with her writing taking over the narrator making the edits a reality.

After a few ripped pages the next empty page has nothing but Monika’s handwritten pen, stating that she’s been the one to write all those notes and that now that she can talk to you directly she’s finally not alone. What follows is a bunch of her act 3 talks, writes mostly in pen with a few things like her poem and hidden text files write in the regular typeface when making edits to the book.

I have no idea how to end this, especially since deleting character files doesn’t translate as well into a book. But yeah act 4 plays out as it does in game before, with Sayori suddenly being able to edit the book and also write with the pen too, just with different handwriting to Monika.

Monika ends up scribbling over the rest of the pages before leaving a few ripped out. The final paragraphs are on the inside of the book cover way after the copyright page where she says her final goodbyes and writes the lyrics to your reality

Ok that’s it this idea is cool

I wonder what DDLC would be like novelised. How they would transition from the cutesty façade into the horror. I could imagine the formatting of the book glitching like the game does, maybe some pages have the wrong page number, the font, color and size of the text changing, seemingly blank pages that have very faint text on them that you can only see if you look super closely, codes hidden in paragraphs, how Monika trying to break out of the story into reality would be portrayed, etc

Same for a fic just about Mio and archmage Ciel interacting in literally any way tbh bc what the fuck the author really thought they could pull a "and there was only one bed" and just have us (the readers) let that slide???? Bitch I see you and I'm so here for it— honestly both from the casual familialness of it and potential shipping. I adore both possible angles of this dynamic

Mio, Ash and archmage Ciel as a dysfunctional little family / maybe throuple (but also it's incredibly unclear what's even happening there) is so compelling to me I'm sorry I'm fully checked out of like all other ships bc that dynamic is so interesting in literally all directions

Rolling it back to Ash and the Queen too, they have such good chemistry and I adore every scene they share together. The Queen has such this like gentle, elegant, tragic air to her that you can just tangible feel. The way I lose my fucking mind whenever Ash gets any real emotion out of her, just, ag. I love them. Fuck.

I can not find a single fic for this webtoon and this saddens me deeply. I think I need to fix this fact immediatley tbh

Anyways, Yamato's design didn't really change all that much. Honestly, I thought it was good even if it didn't completely scream inventor or anything. He looks like teenager being inspired to dress up like his favorite Jojo character and I respect that, tbh. His design slays while turning it into his own. And it kinda fits since it's apparent that he likes anime or similar media at the start of Chapter 6 with the way he introduced himself, but he obviously only acts that way due to the brain damage (that is probably not written very well, I think). The most I changed was the colors and added a bit more detail to his coat or changing small details like the shoulder pads on his...well, shoulders. His button-up became a dark gray, he looks like he's wearing jeans instead of white dress-up pants which I feel like fits him more, white sneakers, and changed certain colors. Like, seriously. Why is the handkerchief in his pocket both blue AND red? The red doesn't even pop up anywhere else. And for some reason the top part of his coat collar is silver??? When it's probably suppose to be the same blue of his undercoat?? At least if you're gonna make it a different color, use the gold you're already using with his shoulder pads! Anyways, I gave him goggles which I have them hanging on his hat (which I just traced, tbh, hats are the bane of my existence next to hands). The goggles are to tie in his Ultimate Inventor status and I desaturated his eyes just a tiiiiny bit. And with his hatless sprite, he is done! Also, I ended up darkening his skin. Cause...why not.

Anyways, I've been struck with the idea of Yamato reuniting with the class at the end of Chapter 3 but still suffering from his brain damage so he struggles to communicate anything, let alone the whole Plot(TM) with amnesia in the mix, but also letting us spend more time with him and see his personality peak through more with flaws and all and actually being able to interact with the others more, especially Rei and Teruya, and maybe have his FTEs developed more by dropping hints about his family, especially about how he feels about the divorce he and his dad went through (which is canon in his concept art as LINUJ specifically wrote it like that), and his regrets in how he treated Mikako at first and how he rejected her at first, which is probably the same as his father cause divorce is not easy for everyone, especially the kids, and how getting older and becoming kinder as he matured fuels him to try and be a better person and protect others, in this essay, I will-

Not really an update, but I'm working on a side project...

I'm sick today and it's messing with my productivity so I'm sharing with you guys a little sneakpeak on a side project ive been cooking up for a while. I'm not sure how well it be received since its more horror-oriented with no romance in it (the MC is a baby!) ; w; and it'll be my first time writing horror too. The project is in its very early stages, but when the time comes, maybe I'll make it's own tumblr blog for it.

I have some really old concept art is anyone is interested. Tho my artstyle and process very different from what it was 2-3 years ago. >//< This is a really long post so beware!!

Anyway, I've always wanted to work in the visual novel genre/Renpy, but being a newbie at the whole indie-dev thing makes it feel overwhelming, but since TSR's development is going somewhat smoothly, I've been thinking of giving it a shot! In the future once I finish the Twine version of TSR (probably years from now tbh) I'd like to take a crack at making it a visual novel. I am a visual artist a heart before anything else haha

Hence the side project! I'll be working on it in short bursts between updates, just to wind down and prevent burn out, but I plan to make the story in Twine first before working in Renpy. Anyway here a little sneak peak :)

The Young Lord/Lady/ Honourable Blackwood: That's you. The dirty street urchin. Your life changed forever when Percival took you off the streets at the age of 8.

Percival “Percy” Blackwood: Your new father. He’s impulsive, eccentric and a bit nutty, but he certainly doesn’t make things boring around here. Apparently he went by another name before taking his grandfather's title.  

Sylvia Blackwood (née Faulkner): Your new Mother. She’s aloof with a sharp tongue- but only to Percival it seems. She mostly tolerates your presence. You wonder what keeps her tied to Percival. Something tells you that it's more than just 'love'.

Abel Waxley: The head butler of the estate. He’s stern and sharp tongued to everyone who upsets the flow of his schedule. He’s one of the few people who can reign Percival in. He looks like he could use a vacation.

Amos Blackwood: The previous count and Percival's grandfather. He was a known hermit and an eccentric man before his timely demise. Only he knows all the secrets of the castle. 

Balan ???: The strange older man who used to live in the castle with the late Count Blackwood. Were they lovers? Or just good friends?

Had a question about who our favorite Zenigata partner is in a server I'm in and now I can't stop thinking about them. Tis the zaza sickness.

anyway here's literally all of the characters Zenigata's been partnered with that i could find (within reason). if anyone wants to elaborate on any of these guys (cough yata cough) please feel free to go absolutely ham. *(obligatory spoiler warning for a whole lotta lupin specials, waow-- notably zenigata keibu since that's probably the most unwatched of everything i cover. but if youre here im guessing youre as unfortunately well-versed as i am so LETS FRIGGIN GET INTO IT)

Starting off nice n' mellow. I'm pretty neutral on Yata, tbh. I just think he's neat and it's easy enough to write him and not much else. I've rambled about him being a stand-in for the viewer before, but overall i just don't have all that many thoughts on the guy (seriously someone please do yata). ironic considering he's hands-down the most prevalent sidekick to date, but alas. head remains empty.

MARIYA. Mariya my girlie oh how i love thee. finally, someone with a Gimmick on par with Mr. my-sword-can-cut-anything. Plus she's super sweet and smart and sharp and just an all-around endearing character. AND SHE'S DIFFERENT!! she's tagging along with Zenigata of her OWN FREE WILL like gurl what are you THINKING. there isn't a shred of coherent interview material to draw from this man, especially about Lupin. The dynamic they end up developing is on point, though!! Zenigata's initial total miscall of it aside, It's just plain ol' wholesome. If Yata's his surrogate son than Mariya's obviously his daughter. No shot in hell they don't at least keep in contact after the special's done. plus her snapping a pic of him every time he eats shit is peak comedy journalism

MOTHAFUCKIN' MELON COP!! an absolutely magical reefer-smokin' shitbag, especially in the edgy Tokyopop translation. He's a great foil to our otherwise serious(ly neurotic) manga Zenigata. Not to mention the combative potential with a down the line Melon.... ough. A more toned-down "newer part"-esque Zeni getting slapped with an extremely smug and insistent reminder of his angstlord past is such a delicious concept to me. i will be using this guy extensively in that exact way one of these days-- he's too fun not to.

a bit of a sidenote but i've gotta point fingers at gray jacket again (can't recommend it enough) for having my favorite melon depiction in fic; walther recently had him show up in their fic secondhand vanity as well (which i also can't recommend enough), so needless to say i think he has some fun potential.

Sakuraba and Kunikida from the live-action show get honorable mentions, obviously. They're both so different yet learn so much from Zenigata all the same. As far as reacting to the inspector goes, they're the ideal Yatas (again i am so so sorry yata-- surely someone will do you justice). Even though they aren't technically "new" to the force they're new to the Zenigata Shenanigans, and that is where the entertainment factor is. Sakuraba's the traditionalist keibu method-doubter whereas Kunikida's this mousey blue around the gills fella, and over their respective case file appearances, they both gain faith in/learn confidence from Zenigata, respectively. It really is a great bit of development to watch play out.

I'm gonna count The Guys™️ as a collective group/formless mass with maybe one of the Guyest of Guys as Zenigata's right hand Guy, like that one dude in Cagliostro. Apparently the name he's given in one of the dubs is Sam?? That's neat. Sam's neat. for anyone interested in some homework, here's the link to the highly informative lupin forum thread i found that out from: [x]

But yeah the Guys! Right from the start, Zenigata having this army of inexplicably and absurdly loyal cops was always a fun trope and i love to see 'em whenever they show up. I had this idea ages ago for this fake documentary-style miniseries based around them-- all the usual Lupin nonsense goes on in the background while we get a peek at the typically unseen shenanigans happening on the law-bearing side. Getting assigned to the lupin taskforce is probably seen as some kind of punishment, but that just makes the camaraderie all the more tight-knit. There'd be some behind-the-scenes Zenigata/how he interacts with them, what they get up to on their own whack case assignments when they're in a Lupin sighting lull.... hell maybe we even learn why they're all so damn loyal to this one supposedly hyper-independent guy. I think it'd be fun but maybe that's just the Zenigata hopeful in me. Surely he's capable of building some semblance of rapport with the fine group of folks he drags around the world with him....

Let's just rip the band-aid off-- I dislike Oscar with a burning passion. which is weird, right? because i like Melon Cop, the dude who's totally cool with straight-up cold-blooded judge/jury/executioner-style murder. I dunno dude the obsessive daddy kink simping's just too feckin' weird for me. i checked the hell out so fast. If the goal was to make Oscar extremely disquieting, they friggin' did it. Granted he was written to be a bit whack from the start, and getting raised(?)/mentored by THAT Zenigata would irreversibly mess anyone up. I get that the fucked up-ness is part of the appeal, but man. How anyone can gravitate towards Oscar without heavily modifying his whole deal escapes me.

I've seen him written tolerably in fic maybe... twice? He's in gray jacket (there it is again!) and SMRO (needs no introduction nor explanation), so obligatory kudos to anyone who can wrangle [gestures vaguely at all of that].

Vicky though. Vicky Flannigan from Island of Assassins is so goddamn funny. Still can't believe they took one of the most badass Zenigata character designs and actively went out of their way to make him bedridden. I've seen folks call him "Proto-Yata" and. Yeah. Can't argue. He's a glorified babysitter, if anything, and the only reason he's even remotely effective is because he (accidentally) broke both of Zenigata's legs. Funniest shit istg

ICPO LADIES!!! They're cute. Designs could be better but it's Babylon yknow. Despite being an admittedly fun romp, the special has its obvious.... uh. issues. product of its time and all that. iykyk. anyway LADIES. They're competent. They take No Shit from Zenigata. The random little crush that comes out of nowhere between Chinjao and Goemon is cute as hell. Plus, I've seen some pretty rockin' fandom redesigns floating around.... wouldn't mind in the slightest if they made a comeback.

I'm gonna lump all of the Betrayers into one category: Emily O'Brien from Angel Tactics, Kazami from Fuma Conspiracy, and Terry Crown from Alcatraz Connection. Never expected the "Zenigata's partner is the bad guy!!1" trope would be so prevalent, but it tracks in retrospect. It's a neat enough idea-- bummer they never seemed to nail it down, though.

The only reason O'Brien is so predictable is because she's so goddamn unlikable. There's hardly any screentime of them working together and in every single scene, the incompetency just feels so blatantly intentional its almost offensive lmao. Zero surprise in the slightest when she showed her true colors-- just mild annoyance, which tracks for the whole special tbh. Only worthwhile parts are the beginning and the end, and absolutely none of that has anything to to with O'Brien.

Kazami just has that chump secondary villain face y'know. Again, a bit on the nose how obnoxiously dorkish he is-- but them playing up him putting on his glasses so Fujiko can recognize him got a little laugh outta me, ngl. He served his purpose, plain and simple.

I'll never know whether Crown was predictable or not because I stumbled across ""Evil Columbo"" before I watched Alcatraz, but despite the spoiler I can at least say he isn't lame as shit. Pre-reveal, he's probably the closest we'll get to a taste of what Melon might be like in modern Lupin media. He's your run-of-the-mill corrupt sleazebag detective-- steals evidence, generally doesn't give a fuck, takes cheap jabs at Zenigata-- but their final standoff is what puts him above Kazami for me. Just a real melodramatic overdramatic moment of Zenigata Zenigata-ing his heart out.

Welcome to the ELDERLY MEN CATEGORY, OORAH. The old guy from Twilight Gemini, Kogoro Akechi from the pilot, and George McFly from First Contact. I could track down Gemini old guy's name, but I hand-to-god couldn't care less. The only worth a damn thing Gemini's given me is that one jigzeni screenshot, so we're just gonna move on to the next two.

Not much of Akechi, huh. He only shows up in the pilot and doesn't do anything of note besides be someone for Lupin to disguise himself as. Dare i say Goemon was a more effective ally to Zenigata than Akechi...? yeah sure, why not. Goemon's a zeni sidekick. i'll die on that hill. anyway I believe he's also a reference to a pre-existing character...? like Lupin, Goemon, and Zenigata are. All in all its probably for the best that he didn't make it to part 1.

Finally, the only old guy that actually has aspects to talk about. I actually really like McFly and the role he plays in First Contact; it isn't Zenigata learning from whoever his partner may be, but McFly learning from Zenigata. He's a jaded, on-the-verge-of-retirement type that thinks he's seen all the force has to offer, but here comes this young (is he considered "young" in this?? early, maybe) freak-ass foreigner cop with a vendetta he's practically frothing at the mouth to rectify. Neither of them are exactly enthused to be working together, but McFly sticks around anyway and learns to see past a lot of Zenigata's first impression baggage; the tenacity, the passion, the genuineness of it all. Not only does he want to make real change, but the crazy bastard can actually friggin' do it. ...Or at the very least make a sizable dent.

Zenigata sincerely adheres to the idea of what a cop's supposed to be, fundamentally, and not what a "cop" actually is, as a vague collective occupational concept. Zenigata has a genuine effect on McFly-- enough to make him just the slightest bit less soured by the end of it all. It's a nice sentiment; that no matter where you are in life, ideas can still change. It's a small arc that flies beneath the radar of everything else, but i noticed it. I FRIGGIN' NOTICED IT, MAN

tl;dr Zenigata's a lonely guy, sure, but he doesn't have to be.

As a disclaimer so people don’t come for me in the comments: this is in no particular order. I’m not ranking these eras, just factually stating that they are the best. Also, if you don’t agree with me, I don’t care. Keep it to yourself, I don’t want to see a million comments like “Duckie! Where’s blah blah? Where’s… Chu?” It’s up your [redacted]. Don’t try and tell me I’m wrong either because respectfully… I’m not. Anyway.

Starting off strong, we have LOVE DIVE!

LOVE DIVE! Is That Girl for a reason. Not only was she literally SOTY (4 times btw), but she had the vibes to back it up. I was a big fan of the ethereal cupid aesthetics they had going on and the styling just always looked so expensive. I’m a Chaehee stan, but Blue’s Hime Cut look was literally unmatched. Even the b-sides went crazy this era, with the iconic Sour Grapes taking over everyone’s For You pages. This song was actually inescapable for months, so of course this era had some iconic moments too. My personal favorite moment was Summer’s solo live ban being instated after she called Angelico’s Jinhwa a “fucking weirdo” in front of 45 million Dream. Free her tbh, she did nothing wrong!

Next up… Neverland’s Sugar Rush!

This song was so addicting honestly, the concept, the vocals, the dance, the silly little whistle chorus, it all ate down. We all know where we were when those shirtless concept pics dropped. The whole Peter Pan vibe obviously went with their concept as a whole, but how do I get to that woodland raver’s paradise? Where do I buy tickets? One thing about Neverland is they’re throwing a party and I need an invite. Speaking of parties, the iconic MakoDae club pics dropped this era. All I’m saying is that you can’t prove the girl throwing ass on Mako isn’t me.

Next, we have my favorite Eunji era, Forgive Me.

Honestly, I don’t really stan Eunji like that. I won’t deny that she is the superior Golden Goose producer, of course. But I don’t know all that much about her. What I do know is that whoever this song is about is going straight to hell. She ate them up, your honor! The rock instrumentals had me so shaken when I first listened to this song that I couldn’t stop listening to this song. Ginger Eunji in her rockstar era was peak cunt, The Revenge Era was so serious for her. Not to mention, this song had the most iconic performance of all time. If you haven’t seen it yet, immediately look up Eunji Halloween Bash Forgive Me Carrie. It will change your life. Miss girl is a performer.

Next up is one of Lucky’s most iconic eras, which is difficult to say because they’re all so iconic, I know… but I mean Ping-Pong! 

This era could get the title solely from the styling. So many people love to hate it, but they just do not see the camp of it all! The bright pink and blue hair duo lives in my head constantly. I fear Kpop may never see styling so creative and unique again… Someone please rescue Hidae from 4Luvs because they are literally the most hated duo even though they make the cuntiest comebacks! I need them back together asap. Not to mention, these two have the best chemistry. And who could forget the iconic Twister video dropped this era. This video was so divisive among fans but I personally think they looked like they were having a lot of fun answering all the questions while playing Twister. We all know how those two treat competitions and they were undeniably getting flirty up in there, liiiike…

The Song of the Summer is up next… La Vie’s Fruit Salad!

This song is It. One of Rainbow’s most iconic songs by far. I don’t think there’s a single kpop stan out there that doesn’t know this song or even this dance. Honestly, they were the queens of summer before, but this song just solidified their title and made them simply unbeatable. No one else can ever wear the crown when this song exists. The concept and styling is also so perfect, one of my favorites out of La Vie, with the bright colors and quintessential summer vibes. Red-haired Tomi still rules my heart, honestly, and Sohee’s baby bangs were so quirky and cute. One of my favorite variety shows from RBE also comes from this era, I find myself rewatching Lovie’s Fruit Stand all the time. I think it’s so nice to see them getting time to rest and doing fun summer activities together, and its just so nostalgic to me.

Next we have Roly Poly by XOX!

Listen… I know they were flops. But they served with this one, I can't lie! They had no budget, no fans, and no future. All they had was a dance floor and a dream, and yet they still had fun with it. This was the age of camp and techno and XOX ran with it. And in doing so, they created every single RBE idol’s go-to karaoke song. It almost seems like an inside joke at the company because there is at least 2 videos of every single group covering or dancing to this song. And now she’s made her way on to TikTok and the legacy lives on. Everyone say RIP XOX, you will always be famous. Kind of.

Up next is Thee Lucid! Era… TOMBOY!

This is their most iconic era by far and if you think I’m wrong then argue with the wall or something. The song, the styling, the lyrics, the message, the music video, the performances, the moments… need I go on? I fear they ate the whole industry up with this comeback and the industry knew it too! I guarantee you that every single one of yall’s favs was caught doing this dance. Just the sheer amount of people, specifically men, that this song pissed off already puts her high up on my cuntiest songs roster and that was before they went on national television and said fuck! Speaking of fuck, Lucid! did not give a single one this era. My personal favorite Blue moment happened this era when sasaengs leaked pictures of her and Youngho leaving practice for together before their collab stage dropped and sparked dating rumors, and the Next Day she posted “ew wtf? him of all men?” on her public Instagram story on accident… which then started a nuclear fan war on Twitter. Dare I say; iconic. The Tomboy vibes had possessed the whole group I fear, because even Chaehee got man-hating rumors after she ignored Haruki’s hand to help her down the steps at a music show. Not to mention, Minji’s rap verse got so much shit and yet every single time she took her cutesy ass to center stage and ate down. I could literally go on and on about how much I love this era for hours, so if you want to hear more, click the link in the description for my full explanation on why it was the best era kpop has seen from the fourth generation.

Anyway. Next up is La Vie’s Fancy You!

This era was directly after Fruit Salad which means they had a tough act to follow… yet they absolutely came through. They were giving galactic space princesses, rulers of the cosmos, sparkling amongst the stars. Basically… they served. Tomi and Mari’s pink and purple hair duo is still one of my favs and don’t even get me started on the styling. Gogo boots and sequins and hot shorts, god. It was so cunty. And this era isn’t one of their best just because of the concept (even though that is one of their best too) but the vibes. The song and instrumental produced by the iconic ROZE Mari duo that gags to this day. It seems like every 6 months the song is back on TikTok for its cunty instrumentals or choreography. The Anya Kai dating rumors first started this era and you really just had to be there. The entire kpop world imploded on itself. Speaking of Anya Kai dating rumors, my favorite Sol video of all time is from this era in her cute blue highlights making a face in the back of an interview when Kai is brought up… EXO-Ls came for her for weeks until she finally took to Twitter to tell them she doesn’t give a shit about boy groups and their stans with internalized misogyny complexes! If that’s not mother I don’t know who is.

Next, we have DAZED, a Neverland classic.

Remember when I said that one thing Neverland is gonna do is throw a party? Well this is That Party. Out of all 130 million views of this mv, I’m probably 26 million of them. It’s so addicting with the concept and the cinematography… like what are you doing if you show up to this hot guy’s rager birthday party and find out that him and his friends are faeries after you drink their wine and dance for eternity? The ACoTaR girlies (me) went wild for this one, let me tell you. I loved the way they took their whole Neverland Lost Boys concept and twisted it to give us faeries which totally works but it’s also something new? They gave the girls what they want! Howie absolutely owned this era, especially after an edit of him as Rhysand went viral and he had to google the series on live when people asked him about it. I still think about that clip of him saying “What do you mean fairy porn?” every single day.

Finally, last but certainly not least, is the best Rainbow era of all time. NEW WAVE.

I know I said I wasn’t ranking them and all that and that is still true, but… this era is inarguably the best out of all of them so I had to put it last. And of course I'm not biased just because I ult Lucky. I’m convinced that Jung Jisoo tried acid for the first time and then came up with this concept based off of that. And I support it. She was Euphoria before her time, a true masterpiece of neon glitter and debauchery. If I could pick one place anywhere on the space time continuum to live out the rest of my days, it would be the set of this mv. They were literally taking shots in the making video. This song was nearly banned from broadcasts and I’m still surprised that Lucky hasn’t had one of their songs banned yet. Queens Eunbi and Jisoo just know the exact line between cunt and can’t, I guess. This era gave the vibes of the early 2000s club craze tabloid era in the best way both in the concept and for the members. The rumor mill was working over time going after them! Angel was accused of sleeping with fans and cheating on Jennie even though the dating rumors didn’t exist until after the cheating rumors? Sunnie’s gay rumors started this era, although she has since been pretty clear that they weren’t just rumors, LOL. Even baby Han got into one of his first scandals after he got caught with a pack of cigs in his back pocket. The most groundbreaking scandal this era though, one of the only times Lucky has had to issue an apology over the years despite being notorious for saying fuck it, Hiro’s infamous AKB video. Iconic or not, it had impact! But it wasn’t just bad things that came out of this era, of course. It was their most successful ot4 comeback, winning 8 music show wins and PAK as a full group. Plus, they still make room for it on every set list, so they clearly feel the same way about it as 4luvs do. You cannot deny that this era is the most iconic eras of both Lucky and RBE as a whole.

A little late, but here's some of my works from 2023 ! (only cheated a little for months where i did stuff but forgot to publish it, consider it a sneak peak haha) Happy to see my style continue to evolve in a direction im generally happy with, while also occasionally going out of my comfort zone to try out a bit of painting and push my colors a little bit !

Can't wait to be even more obnoxious about my interests (related : bonus AA/DGS only summary under the cut) and post some weirder fanarts over the next year, despite wanting the concept of cringe dead and buried i have trouble applying that to myself so we'll see <3 happy 2024!

i made some fun AAvsPL crossover stuff this year, and while the DGS brainrot that consumed my whole brain this year was slowly going away i have new friends who are discovering dgs1 rn and bringing me back the spark for it... my multishipper heart is happy i could participate in more events this year, but id love to publish more ryulock than before cause the ratio of sketches i make VS stuff i finish and post for them is insane!!! also need to do my ot3 propaganda maybe so i can get even more niche than i was before !! bonus for the people who read all that : see the Herlock in the June slot ? he was not drawn like an emoji on purpose. that lineart was actually made in 2021 when i was playing through dgs1, and finding how to do his face was my personal nightmare (tbh except ryuu none of the dgs characters came "easy" to me). it took time but as you can see now i found a way ! so dont give up if you dont know how to draw your blorbo in your style, it can rly be a struggle but eventually you'll get there!! just gotta be patient with yourself !! I binged watched part 2 of The Glory and I have THOUGHTS and OPINIONS but overall liked part 2 a ton, really need Song Hye-kyo and Jung Sung Il to be in another drama where they get to fuck nasty tho saw someone say a spy thing and now all I can think about is a Korean remake of Mr and Mrs Smith staring them 

anyway thoughts and opinions, obviously spoilers and some unpopular opinions to boot: 

so like, off the bat I am firmly neutral on the JYJ and MDE romance. Sorry y’all. I thought some of their romantic moments were just out of place tonally in the show - the fondue scene especially with the standard kdrama romance music playing, the running hug scene, both come to mind - I wished the show leaned into the dark romance aspects more. Like, my issue with JYJ is he’s way way way more interesting when he’s unhinged and covered in blood. But the show seemed determined to make him a “green flag” which is a term I’m growing increasingly eye-rolly with in fandom which made him way more boring and also inconsistent. 

I was actually salty he didn’t get to stab anyone! Why tease me with a murder knife drawer and not do anything with it??? His best moment was when he put PYJ under and was so wonderfully creepy and intimidating. That was peak. That was his best moment for me in part 2 and the rest was kinda...meh? I didn’t want him to be cutely romantic I wanted him to be secretly unhinged!! Him being a ~green flag~ was meh his other best moment of the show was his monologue to his father’s murderer. Literally one of the best moments of the show and 100% his best moment as a character. I wanted more of THAT and less of him simping after MDE tbh. 

That said, I’m not like against their romance or anything it’s just firmly - fine. It’s fine. 

I’m also very meh/eye-rolling over the concept of a woman being a man’s savior and salvation. I find that trope really boring tbh 

It was nice to see MDE have a partner in crime, and I did like the tent scene with them. I think if there’s fic written if it’s fluff squeecore fic I’ll pass but I’d love a take on them that embraced the darker aspects of YJY’s character. Like dude was an obsessed stalker - which is another reason this green flag thing is weird to me - after spending like what 3 months with MDE if she didn’t like him and also wasn’t a bit unhinged herself he’d be a horror movie char lol like he moved entire ass cities to be closer to her without telling her and lied to her about knowing So-Hee’s mom all in a longcon effort to get closer to her like embrace the unhinged! 

Anyways

We didn’t get much of HDY and MDE this part but know what, I really liked how subtle their relationship was tbh like HDY taking off his shoes before entering her home was a peak moment for me. It’s subtle, but it was a bit of kindness that was so often and so thoroughly denied MDE repeatedly. And obviously that meant a lot to her b/c she was willing to drop her whole ass extended revenge plot and give PYJ a chance to turn herself in. I liked that he didn’t immediately divorce PYJ too b/c it gave him all the opportunity to slowly and symmetrically tear her apart emotionally. 

Like, PYJ realized she actually loved this man, so knowing that MDE got into his head and heart - I loved that he basically admitted yeah he had an emotional affair with her - was clearly so damaging for her ego. And that’s what PYJ cares about most, her ego, her image, her self-preservation. And I loved how HDY tore that down every chance he got. He knows about her affair, he knows HYS true parentage, he knows all her little secrets and when she tries to defend herself he gives her rope to hang herself with it. And she does b/c of course she does!! Oh it was great. 

It shows that PYJ’s idea of love is possession. She’s mad HDY cheated on her, without considering her years long affair with JJJ. She loves her daughter, but not enough to take TWO, TWO different chances to actually protect her daughter (sidenote loved that both MDE and HDY gave PYJ two different chances to take responsibility for her action and make amends and both times she spat in their faces) and she denied them. 

Also what the heck is up with the fact that Mr “Who Should I Kill For You First” didn’t kill a single bitch but HDY killed one of the MAIN bitches??? Like, I loved it but what the heck??? That said would’ve really liked a follow up or sideways scene where MDE gave HDY the info on JJJ and that she knew~ he killed JJJ. I think they should’ve had a final scene together like that b/c it didn’t make much sense to me how JJJ got out of that car accident and ended up at that construction site where HDY followed and killed him after. Plus it didn’t make sense to me that MDE wouldn’t have kept tabs on JJJ and would have left his fate ambiguous like that. He was the one most loyal to PYJ and probably the only person who wouldn’t abandon her in the long run so like, that felt like a weird missing piece to the ending. 

I’m glad PYJ didn’t die tho, I’m kinda meh on main villains always dying tbh sometimes it really works - like JJJ’s death - but other times it feels like an easy out for them. I’m glad she’s in prison suffering especially not knowing one of the people she killed she actually didn’t. Knowledge that MDE can hold over her forever. I loved that I loved that was PYJ’s endgame. 

All that said, I wish the show incorporated more of the publics viewing of PYJ in her downfall. I think The Devil Judge and Hellbound did this way better with how social media and the news really influence the public perception. We got that one news conference and that was it but like I wanted more. I wanted to see more of the public takedown of the crew and have all the victims smiling as they listen to the gossip and chatter around them. 

Everyone’s fates were pretty dope though. KHN was a highlight, so glad her husband is dead, she didn’t forgive his ass in the end, and she’s happier now. She’s one of the best characters of the show, the way she flourished and grew - that SLAP she gave PYJ like no one topped that - was just amazing to see. HDY and his adorable daughter going to UK was so earned (made no sense but earned), the crew’s different deaths like loved that for all of them hahahah suffer. Glad MDE found happiness and fulfilment at the end with YJY. 

My last and only quibble with the finale was two things: 1) I wanted a follow up scene with Soo-Hee’s mom and MDE I think this was a hugely missed opportunity tbh like for MDE to tell SH’s mom we got them all not just PYJ but all of them went down you’re daughter can rest now. I was really disappointed we didn’t get this. 2) I really disliked how the last 20/30mins was dedicated to like a long set-up of a potential s2 about YJY’s revenge. Idk this was MDE’s story and it felt like the ending stopped being about her and became about an ad to watch a potential s2. It dragged on and on and I felt there were other things we could’ve explored instead to really wrap MDE’s story up completely. 

Overall, hands down one of the best kdramas I’ve watched and a high fave.

you've seen plenty of my beach idol ocs - kaigara and hitodeko, so it's only fair for me to post some things i have of them

concept arts i made in september

their whole theme is beach 'cause it's basically what kelpton is all about. it has those big beachy aethetics though not that many inkfish come to the actual beach... because kelpton has a very, very inconsistant weather. for this reason they have their own stages that are adapted for different weather, or they just go to inkopolis - because it's easier there.

Kaigara (she/her, 19) is an inkling who lived in a poor family, but had a giant dream. she always wanted to have a nice and cozy place of her own, a bar at the beach. cocktails are her biggest passion. she doesn't even like turf wars. but she's always there if you need a fresh drink. she worked like crazy for fulfilling her dream, and she managed to do just that. she loves her family and helps them out with money now that she's kind of a local star. wait... how did she even end up being an idol?! well...

Hitodeko (she/her, 21) is an octoling from the domes whose only relative is her mother, but she didn't leave the domes until her mother was on board with her. she always wanted to be as influensive as she is, being an elite octoling engineer with also great public speaking skills. hitodeko helped her since her childhood! and after leaving the domes she set out on a journey which ended up in a small town - Kelpton - where at some time she found a small beach bar with a very welcoming owner. kaigara's bar wasn't actually that popular for long. quite the opposite. hitodeko didn't really understand that! it's just so lovely, how could not many people come here?..

so... she made up a plan. a great plan with no holes in it.

they're gonna advertise kaigara's bar... with a song.

except none of them knows how to sing exactly and has ANY musical education OR even TOUCHED an instrument in their life.

okay, that's a problem.

but with hitodeko being her mother's daughter, they gone through all their problems: they found reena, a musician who's very into helping others due to their abilities (she's very good with lots of instruments!), who helped them make a very good song, and it was that ridiculously good that it caught people's attention to the point of mayor noticing their peak of popularity and, after a while of conversing with them, proposing them to be the weather broadcasters. hitodeko was very enthusiastic about this expirience, but she insisted on them setting everything up at kaigara's bar. it actually worked somehow and with reena's and hitodeko's help kaigara's bar finally was loved by people!

kaigara earned money to buy a pretty dress that suited her, and she bonded with hitodeko very deeply throughout this whole 'let's make an original ad gone wrong' thing, becoming very good friends with her.

reena is just helping them with music since he knows a lot. he's in charge of instrumentals and that's it - that's just what they do for living for anyone. they're not a part of their idol duo.

kaigara's voice is actually not that bad for singing. she's just... never done that. her voice is something in between callie and marie, if i can describe it like that, not sure... i have a small attempt in doing nice squid vocals with her cover on tide goes out, but i'm not sure if it's good to hear tbh...

i'll just leave it here anyways. it's too loud sometimes i think. keep in mind that it's just me trying to figure out squid vocal and kaigara's voice at the same time. i think i kind of succeeded?... also, small note: if it sounds really weirdly off with the notes sometimes, it's intentional.

hitodeko's voice is, hm... i'm not sure if i'll be able to do that if i'm going to try to sing beach girls songs but hitodeko's voice is a little...idk...raspy, shaky...it just sounds a lot like shy-ho-shy actually in my head.

kaigara is a roller main, though, like i mentioned, she doesn't like playing sports. she's there if hitodeko wants her to come with her though, she doesn't mind. her roller is Kaigara's(custom) Kamikoi Splat Roller, gifted by hitodeko on her birthday. it was worth a lot of money!

hitodeko is a stringer main, a tri-stringer main in particular. she plays turf wars sometimes, but a lot more then kaigara.

you've seen them with their weapon of choice here!

i had some splatfest concepts with them but this is the only solid one that i really liked. you may guess what it is.

Control review

This game was great and it helped that I had played Alan Wake recently, although you don’t really have too, it just helps to know what's going on for one of the DLC chapters and a few Easter eggs here and there.

I skipped over this game for awhile because tbh it doesn’t look that interesting, and the first hour or so is very slow and confusing, I nearly put it down but I’m so glad I didn’t. A lot of concepts, weird characters and acronyms are thrown at you in this first section and it got a bit overwhelming. Once you get your telekinesis ability it really picks up, the combat becomes a lot more fun and the story starts to make more sense. It didn’t go in the direction I was expecting it too and that was a pleasant surprise. The first boss battle is actually a real pain but after that I never had any trouble (you can encounter it again but it’s optional).

The whole game takes place in some weird brutalist government building that can shift shape and is being invaded by an entity. It is a government branch that investigates strange phenomena that covers it up from the public, while it itself being a strange organisation with unusual leaders and practices, I didn’t thinking running around an office block could be so interesting but it is. The characters are all a bit quirky, one guy is very Twin Peaks and there’s a lot of stuff hinted at, but never fully revealed, the DLC especially asks a lot of questions, but answers little, setting up for a sequel. A lot of the story can be found lying around in files, recordings and videos so if you don’t like that kind of thing it’s probably not for you. I liked it because you can find something later on that you’ve already read about and I was hunting down every last file I could find. Re-reading/watching stuff later is useful because things will make sense in hindsight. Jesse herself is very likeable, I warmed to her a lot quicker than I did with Alan Wake and she can be pretty funny at times too. Always nice to have a new female lead character.

These notes also give hints about new abilities and most of this stuff is optional. You can miss whole segments of the game if you don’t bother exploring and it will make combat a lot harder for you. You can even miss whole story arcs and characters if you don’t have a good look round. Hell, I thought I was exploring thoroughly and then the game gave a hint that I might have missed something and found a  whole extra sideplot 

You have your main story mission but you can go and do sidequests as well. These are totally optional. Some are more interesting than others, some are just collecting junk or timed missions, but others can reveal new information about the bureau and what goes on in it. It’s a good idea to do these for upgrades anyway.

This game has the best combat of any game I’ve played in years. First you get a gun, it has unlimited ammo but you have to wait for it to reload. It can be morphed into a shotgun, sniper rifle, grenade launcher, etc. Honestly, once I got the power to launch shit about, the gun was secondary. You can grab and launch pretty much anything at the enemies and it’s so satisfying to smack an enemy in the face with a fax machine or a forklift. It get’s even better once you can levitate and and start raining death from above. You need to get good at balancing your gun and launch ability as both need to recharge. Health is only gained by attacking enemies so you really need to be on the offensive throughout,. I tried ducking and hiding at first but Jesse is just too fragile to survive long and enemies are very aggressive. Also, aside from crouching, taking cover isn’t handled well in this game unfortunately. But you can get a dodge ability (you can actually miss this if you aren’t looking around and I can only imagine what a nightmare that would be without it). Keep moving and always be on the attack is my advice. Enemies will flush you out in no time if you try and play it safe.  You can improve combat by leveling up your weapons and abilities. I got a really useful upgrade that restored health with every successful launch smack and that was a lifesaver for boss battles/hordes. You can also increase your health although I found even at max health a strong enemy could still take me out in two hits if I wasn’t careful. For huge battles you sometimes get an ally and they were more useful as a distraction than anything else. I felt the upgrade system was poorly explained however, despite how crucial it is. The game isn’t exactly stingy with them, they can be found killing enemies or through exploration. You can also make your own.  Some of the savepoints can be a bit strange. I had a few moments of panic where I seemed to have been sent back somewhere I’d been 45 mins before after dying but everything I’d done before the death was still done, I just had to run back. Bit confusing.

There’s also some platforming and puzzles. These are all good, nothing felt unfair.

It all looks fine, some character models are a bit stiff but nothing was outright bad. Even though the game is set in America, with mainly American characters, something felt European about it, I can’t put my finger on why though. (I didn’t realise the developers were Finnish at first either) The building is nice and detailed and everything is destructible. A room where you had a fight LOOKS like a room where you just had a fight. IDK if it’s my dying PS4 or what but some of the busier battles had some serious framerate drops. I also had one instance where the game froze and I had to restart.

I can’t remember any of the soundtrack. Like it suits the game and it’s fine while playing, just nothing really stood out. Just atmospheric tracks mostly. One track that plays in the maintenance sector did my head in though. It sounds like someone knocking on a pipe and that really got irritating. Voice acting is alright, everyone suits their character.

I really regret not picking this game up sooner, it’s so good. Usually I find a game has either great gameplay and a meh story or vice versa but this game was great in both areas. I’ve not played anything like it so it was a unique experience too. The Alan Wake tie in DLC was scarier than anything in Alan Wake itself tbh, that monster was creepy as fuck. The only negatives are the incredibly slow start, poor cover system, poor explanation of how upgrades work and the rather abrupt ending to a very interesting story. I guess it’s all being set up for a sequel but it still, it  came so suddenly I was a bit taken aback tbh. Also without the DLC it’s quite short. I just really wanted more and there is a fair bit to do postgame thankfully. Shame there’s no new game+ option though.

Looking forward to the sequel, I want to learn more about the weird world and characters they created here.

Butterboy's Bizarre One Piece Rambles Part 2: Alabasta

Yet another saga I will tackle with one post. Well...mostly. There's one thing I want to talk about first. Again, none of these screenshots are mine, they're stolen.

WARSHIP ISLAND

I know this arc is filler, but I think Apis is cute. I thought this arc was cute and wholesome, with Apis wanting to protect her dragon. I wouldn't mind if Apis had become a canon character and had joined the gang. Also! She's a Devil Fruit user too! That's cool.

I don't have much to say about this arc, but I thought it was a solid one-off story. I definitely think this one was worth watching.

REVERSE MOUNTAIN

I like the little bits of worldbuilding upon establishing the Grand Line. There's the Calm Belt and the Sea Kings, which definitely add peril to the Grand Line. I just thought the different conditions of the sea was neat. That requires them to use log poses instead of regular concepts. I thought that little bit of worldbuilding was neat and really added more meat to the world. Really adds more to the adventure feel. Anyways, because this is a show that involves sailing, they have to run into the obligatory whale. And that whale is Laboon. Lemme just say, Laboon is baby. I love that whale. Poor guy just got abandoned. Luffy and his gang better come back to him at the end of the series or else I'll be sad. I think it's sweet that at the end, Laboon just has the Straw Hat symbol drawn over his scar.

I also find it so funny that Laboon just casually has a fucking island inside him and that the old flower guy is just looking after him. Like everyone mistook his insides for being at sea. Also Mr. 9 and Miss Wednesday are first introduced here, which is neat. After the whole thing with Laboon, the Straw Hats take them to Whisky Peak. Speaking of which...

WHISKY PEAK

I think it was about this point where I noticed this saga had a more linear story than East Blue. So basically the Straw Hats are welcomed to this island that treats pirates like celebrities, which is way different from how previous islands treated them when they showed up. Previously in East Blue, if they went on an island, they were usually treated with disdain. But then here they're treated like celebrities. But there's a twist. This island is run by Baroque Works members, who is the group of big bads in this saga. So they get ambushed by them and they all fight.

Imma be honest, I don't remember much of this arc aside from the "Luffy, it's good to see ya buddy!" memes. It's not really that this arc is forgettable, it actually has a lot of important shit in it such as introducing Baroque Works. Anyways, they fight the guys and they defeat them. Fucking Luffy and Zoro fight each other. There's these other two guys, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine, who show up. I think their abilities are really cool, although Mr. 5's fucking Snot Snot no Mi ability or whatever is...unique to say the least. Anyways, they're here because it turns out Miss Wednesday and Mr. 8 are actually spies for Baroque Works. Their real identities are Princess Vivi and Igaram, who are both from the Kingdom of Alabasta.

I liked that Mr. 9 and Miss Monday, even though they're not from the Kingdom of Alabasta, they still decided to ally themselves and fight for Vivi and Igaram. I was a bit sad that they never showed up ever again, but hey at least Vivi joined the gang. Oh yeah, there was something about Luffy destroying the log pose that Vivi gave the gang to take them to Alabasta, but I'm not sure what that was all about TBH.

Also...I have a bit of a crush on Miss Monday. I wish she did more, sob sob.

I forgot to mention that Miss All Sunday, Mr. 0's partner in crime, is also here. She cryptically shows up on the Going Merry. She's important. Keep her in the back of your mind.

God I want her to step on me.

LITTLE GARDEN ARC

The gang arrives to Little Garden, which is not so little. There's fucking dinosaurs and giants here. There's two giants here and they're in this 100 year war with each other, and that...weirdly also ties into Zoro and Sanji's weird rivalry with trying to see who can collect the most amount of dinosaur meat. I dunno, I wasn't too invested in this arc just yet. Until Mr. 3 and Miss Golden Week showed up, knocked out one of the giants (because characters in One Piece don't die, sometimes to a fault, as you'll see later). I love Miss Golden Week's design, she's just a little painter girl, she's so silly.

Anyways, Mr. 3 nearly transforms Zoro, Vivi, Nami, and one of the giants into wax. And while they're being transformed into wax, Zoro just decides to fucking pose in the middle. God, Zoro is so stupid sometimes, it's great. Like you'd think he'd be some stoic badass, but he's actually just as dumb as Luffy sometimes.

I think it was silly that Usopp looked up to the giants. It reminds me of myself when I look up to fictional bara men from animes. One of which will be mentioned soon.

But yeah, where's Sanji in the meantime? He's in some random house and he poses as Mr. 3 while the real Mr. 3 is getting his ass kicked by the rest of the gang. And he's calling the real big bad of the series, Mr. 0. And I find that moment with Sanji to be the coolest thus far. He just picks up the phone and says, "Hey, this is Kuso Restaurant." HE'S LITERALLY JUST MESSING AROUND AND BEING SUCH AN INCONVENIENCE FOR BAROQUE WORKS, IT'S GREAT.

There was also a whole thing with Coby and Helmeppo from earlier which honestly redeemed Helmeppo for me. They're both chore boys in the Marines and they end up proving themselves to Garp, which is neat. Helmeppo learns to truly value Coby and their friendship, it's honestly great.

DRUM ISLAND

Oh my god, I have a lot to say about Drum Island. This is one of the most peak arcs in all of One Piece. Drum Island is basically Canada but if Canada's healthcare system wasn't free and only restricted to the King. I like Drum Island. It really cemented how gay Nami and Vivi are for each other, as well as introducing us to Tony Tony Chopper.

So Nami gets sick, unfortunately, and they need to head to an island with a doctor. Nami keeps insisting that they ditch her or something, which...NOOOO, NAMI... And Vivi keeps insisting that they go to a doctor... I dunno, Nami and Vivi's interactions with each other really hit different. As time passes, Vivi gets more and more worried about saving her country, but Nami's just always there encouraging her... GAH. They're so cute together. I'm a huge NamiVivi stan. Nami doesn't interact with anyone else the same way she does with Vivi.

Also with Zoro, we can still clearly see how Mihawk has affected him, and he's training in the cold without a shirt.

Luffy and Sanji try getting past these carnivorous bunnies to bring Nami to the one doctor in the whole country, who everyone says is a witch doctor, and then the avalanche happens, causing Sanji to pass out in the process. So Luffy, being the gigachad he is, decides to carry both Nami and Sanji all the way up with his bare fucking hands. Holy shit, that moment goes hard. You know shit's going down with Luffy, who's usually a jovial, goofy guy, is serious and determined. His hands are bleeding and shit. And then he reaches all the way to the top of the mountain after literally risking his life to save his friends, and he asks Chopper to help his friends. Not help himself. Help his friends. Luffy's a dedicated captain. He truly does care about his crew.

Anyways, onto Chopper's backstory. Chopper was just this blue-nosed reindeer who was kinda an outcast, even amongst his own species. Then he ate the Hito Hito no Mi, which made him even more isolated from his family. He tried integrating with humans, and he just gets outcasted by them as well, treated as a monster and shot at. Weirdly enough, this is somewhat relatable to me as an Asian-Canadian. Not quite Chinese enough to fit in with my Chinese family because I speak Chinese like a fucking five-year-old and barely know anything about my own culture, but I don't look white so I stand out amongst my white peers. It all changed when he met Dr. Hiriluk, one of the only doctors who's in the country still after the rest of them are either working exclusively for King Wapol or exiled, who showed Chopper that he could trust him by...taking off all his clothes? I dunno, Hiriluk as another outcast, befriended Chopper and it's really sweet and stuff. He told Chopper about how he looked up to pirates and how he wanted to create cherry blossoms on Drum Island. But then after a year, Hiriluk kicked Chopper out once he was all better and no longer had to treat him. Why? Because he didn't want Chopper to see him die. He was slowly dying of some unknown anime disease. However, how Chopper sees it is that this is the one friend he made kicking him out of his life. So Chopper does everything he can to get back with him. Injuring himself, and eventually finding a mushroom to cure his sickness. Except here's the thing. The mushroom was poisonous. Hiriluk ate it anyways cause he figured that he's gonna die anyways, why not try convincing Chopper that he's fine, right?

Anyways, Hiriluk's goal is to make the cherry blossoms to cure the country of its sickness, as well as going to cure all the doctors because he's been told they're all sick. Anyways, King Wapol fucking lied about that because he's a fucking dick. So Hiriluk essentially sacrifices himself for the country's sake. The way he went out... FUCK. I didn't cry at that, but holy shit, it went hard.

So that's why Chopper lives with Doctorine now. Chopper's so fucking cute, honestly. He has the same VA as Pikachu, so that definitely helps with that. And he's like...he's baby. Nami compliments him and he gets so giddy but he's trying to hide it but he's also so bad at hiding it! He's just a little guy! But he's also scared of getting close to people. After all, being mistreated by almost everyone he sees... IDK... It'd be hard.

Also, there's this one moment with Sanji that really shows his kindness. When Chopper sees Luffy fighting Wapol and his two lackeys, he asks Sanji what he is. And Sanji says, "He's a monster." Really showing his empathy to Chopper. It's so sweet.

Anyways, Chopper finally gets to join after some convincing, and his farewell with Doctorine is really sweet. She's really harsh on the surface, chasing him out of the castle, but then she sends him off with the very cherry blossoms that Hiriluk made. And it's honestly such a beautiful moment. Ignore the fact that this

On a side note, I love that Oda fucking draws the ugliest fucking crying expressions on everyone, man, woman, child, reindeer, with drool and snot thrown into the mix. And it'll still be an emotional fucking moment.

ALABASTA

Finally, we're at Alabasta. And oh boy, we have a lot to fucking digest because this is almost 40 episodes for this one arc.

First, we're introduced to Bon Clay, AKA Mr. 2. He's so silly goofy. He's the first canonical queer character in all of One Piece, being able to shapeshift into various different bodies. Anyways, they kinda befriend him at first? But then Vivi realizes he works for Baroque Works. They draw Xs on their arms and wrap them with bandages so that they can tell which is the real version of each other and which is Bon Clay. It's also a sign of their friendship.

Anyways, they finally arrive in Alabasta and we're introduced to Portgas D. Ace, who is Luffy's brother. I honestly don't get the naming system in One Piece. Ace and Luffy don't share a family name. The only thing they have in common is the D. So is the D their last name? If so, then why is it in the middle? Is Luffy Luffy's first name or last name? Anyways, Ace is pretty cool, ironically enough from his power. I feel like his appearance serves as foreshadowing for the time being because he's introducing us to Blackbeard and he's a member of the Whitebeard pirates. He's basically Luffy but more mature. He stays with the crew for a few episodes and then dips, so we'll definitely be seeing him in the future.

Also the Marines are in Alabasta. They followed the Straw Hats from Loguetown to Alabasta and they have an altercation with each other.

Luffy is also very silly and stupid and he eats the fucking green powder, thinking it's food. This powder is the illegal dance powder that Baroque Works has framed the King of Alabasta with to get there to be a civil uprising in the Kingdom.

We get to hear Vivi's backstory with a guy called Koza, and they were childhood friends. We learn about the situation in Alabasta and how Alabasta hasn't seen rain in at least a hot minute, and how a town called Yuba has been seeing a shitton of sandstorms. It's also revealed that Koza and Vivi are in opposition with each other because Koza is the leader of the rebel army. Koza's father gives them a thing of water so that they can travel safely, which is really sweet of him.

Also Chopper befriends a perverted camel named Lashes.

I honestly feel really bad for Vivi. She's going through so much stress and she's putting so much burden on herself. She's kinda the opposite of Nami, where she's more calm and idealistic, whereas Nami's more hotheaded and realistic. I think they're good foils for each other because when Vivi gets more stressed out about stuff, Nami's there to be calm for her. Being a princess sucks, I learned.

Anyways, Nami x Vivi break aside... The gang find themselves in the casino where they're face-to-face with the big bad of the arc for the first time, Crocodile. And lemme tell ya, I love Crocodile. He's my favorite character in the series. He's just like me for realsies. His ability is just so fucking cool. Who knew that sand could have so much potential? Although I figured out his weakness pretty quickly because I thought, "Well, he can't turn into sand if he's doused with water because wet sand doesn't get blown into air." Anyways, he tries to feed the gang (minus Sanji and Chopper, and plus Smoker) to his bananagators. Sanji manages to bust their asses out and help out Vivi, taking advantage of the fact that Crocodile isn't even aware of his existence at that point. He also managed to get Mr. 3 to make a wax key to bust them out. God, I love Sanji. He's so cool.

After that, the gang starts heading towards Alubarna, but Crocodile intercepts them. Thus enter round 1 of Crocodile VS Luffy. I really like that Luffy just wants to go straight to defeating Crocodile rather than having to battle all of his remaining underlings one by one. He lets the others head to Alubarna while he himself fights Crocodile.

Anyways, it didn't go so well.

The rest of the gang are doing their own fights with the underlings they encounter around the gates of Alubarna. Which I think is neat, because everyone gets their own time to shine. My favorite fight of them all is Nami's fight against Miss Doublefinger though, because this is Nami's first real chance at fighting one-on-one against someone. And she's given her own weapon called the Clima Takt by Usopp. Which...side tangent here, I love the friendship between Nami and Usopp. They're such besties, and I mean that platonically. One Piece allows men and women to just simply be friends with each other! That's amazing! That's so good! They're usually shown sobbing and hugging each other when they get freaked out by something. It's so good. The Clima Takt really suits Nami, since she's a navigator and understands weather conditions enough to maniplate them to her will.

Vivi also runs into Bon Clay at one point and remembers that she can differentiate between him and the real versions of her friends. Which, I will also say, the fight between Sanji and Bon Clay is also peak. It's just lighthearted and fun, which is so nice compared to the other, more serious battles.

Meanwhile, Crocodile and Miss All Sunday (AKA Nico Robin) have Nefertari Cobra in hostage (I will also mention that Cobra isn't as serious and stoic as you think he is, and he's honestly such an honorable King). Vivi tries to stop the rebel army from attacking but she's completely foiled by Crocodile's fucking sand getting in the way. Crocodile's plan is to essentially take over all of Alabasta.

Crocodile may seem one-dimensional and evil for the sake of evil like previous villains. But what makes a villain like that hold up is that he is a genuine threat to the things that the protagonists care about. Because he sets up real fucking stakes. He set up a fucking revolution in a Kingdom while posing as a hero for the Kingdom, while wanting to take it over for the sake of power and thus threatening the destruction of the entire country. He's honestly really cunning. Also, there is definitely more to him because I know he shows up in the future and even ends up allying himself with the protagonists later on. He could even reappear in the current ongoing arc, which...I look forward to seeing that if it happens because he's honestly such a great villain. He says an awful lot of stuff about not trusting people, which feels like it's hinting at something. Also we barely know anything about the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and he's only the second one we've seen thus far. There's still so much we don't know about him, even after finishing Alabasta.

Anyways, Luffy's actually alive and he gets saved by Pell the bird guy...and Miss All Sunday as well. So he fights Crocodile again while the Kingdom is on the verge of being blown up. This is the part where it's revealed what Crocodile's weakness is. Water. Crocodile ends up defeating Luffy again though and if I recall correctly, he basically dries up Alubarna to the point there's cracks on the ground. Can I also just mention? There's something aesthetically pleasing about Crocodile with wet hair. Like his cool, calm exterior has just been foiled and he's losing his cool. Back to the fight, Crocodile's motivations for allying himself with Miss All Sunday/Nico Robin is because she can read poneglyphs. He believes the poneglyphs in Alabasta will reveal something about some weapon called the Pluton that can supposedly make him super powerful and shit. We don't know what that is by this point yet still. Upon figuring out that the poneglyphs don't actually contain the information to the Pluton, he stabs Nami. What is it with my favorite villains stabbing the hottest women in the show? Looking at you, Kars...

I also made a Tweet making fun of Crocodile for being named Crocodile...but also that's genuinely such a cool name.

Anyways, part 3 of the Luffy VS Croc fight. I think his fight with Crocodile is super cool and it definitely is a more strategic fight, which I super much like. It's very cool when characters use strategy against each other to exploit each others' weaknesses rather than simply using raw strength. It's nice. It's neat. Luffy ends up using his own blood to weaken Crocodile. Meanwhile, everyone else is trying to disarm the bomb and Vivi is still trying to desperately stop the fight by shouting on top of a clock tower. Again, I really do feel bad for Vivi. Crocodile eventually gets defeated, the King and Nico Robin get saved and stuff. There's also a lot of interesting foreshadowing with Nico Robin and stuff, how she was wanted as a child and stuff, stuff about her being an archaeologist, and why she lied about what the poneglyph said... Definitely looking forward to her own arc. To add to that, Smoker and Tashigi letting the Straw Hats off the hook... I love unlikely allies and antagonists helping out the heroes.

Alabasta being saved was very satisfying. The climax is over and Vivi has to make a decision between going with the Straw Hats and staying in Alabasta. She ultimately chooses the latter option, wanting to continue protecting her country.

And oh boy... Her farewell scene... It made me really sad. Because the Straw Hats couldn't shout back without attracting the Marines to them, it almost seemed as though they were gonna just leave without saying goodbye. BUT THEN THEY LIFTED THEIR ARMS UP TO REVEAL THE X ON THEIR ARMS... OH MY GOD. IT WAS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT. YOU GUYS. IT REALLY WENT HARD. I didn't cry but it was such a beautiful moment and I know a lot of people cried here.

Also...one final note. The way Nico Robin joins the Straw Hats is definitely different from how the others joined. She just shows up instead of having some game-changing arc. I know she has her arc later on, I'm just pointing out the fact that it changes up the formula of characters joining Luffy on his journey. Her reasoning for joining is because she's pissed off at Luffy essentially putting her on suicide watch. Again, looking forward to seeing her.

Alabasta is just. Mwah. That's it for this madman rambling. Skypiea is next and I've heard good things about it as well.

A little rant because Yunho has been the avatar of this Tumblr/most of my socials for more than a decade now through my on&off active stanning.

Noir was a fulll on bop visually and sonically and MBC really snapped this man out of a possible Bonsang, but I'm not a big fan of him losing that much weight for that promotion cycle. Like sure if he had an image in mind and liked to make it happen it's up to him, but the whole "youthifying" him at that time with the weight loss made him look more tired & like he's not aging well. Being old =/= looking bad, some seriously peak visually later in life, men generally look better putting on a bit of weight as they age, and Yunho's face literally is up for a great aging (that's why he rocks the mature concept anyway). Making him thin af (check the Candy Challenge around that time) does.not.suit.him.at.all.anymore. His weight around 2018 was a magnificent perfection, his face & body looks good with more meat, so I'm not sure wth was going on True Color onward to Noir.

Not to mention the excessive photoshop and still now weird edits like. His face is so familiar to me I shouldn't get any uncanny feeling, but here we are. Yunho has chronic low self-esteem, and he still to this day is very not confident with his face (most of his entire body tbh smh I'm not gonna even get on to him and his weight then his voice). It just hurts sometimes.

I have liked you for 14 years, dude, since I was a child. You are my ultimate for 14 years. I know what you look like and I like it. Like yeah bruh you're not my ideal type (I'm a peach person not strawberry on that front that kind of thing) but if I was born a man I would love to look like you and be like you so much.

“Mother! She’s ugly! Why would you even bring her to me if you can see her face looks like that? Do you want ugly grandchildren!”

Nobody moves, or makes a sound as Prince Jimin complains about a lords daughter who’s right in front of him. Every single girl meeting him today was told to smile, and not speak up unless they had a death wish.

“But darling, she’s a high lords daughter. You must at least give her a chance,” The Queen says to his right. Not even blinking an eye when her beyond spoiled son just insulted someone her kingdom finds important for trade. There all too scared to pull our of trades, anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.

Jimin looks over at the girl in front of him. She has brown hair that looks like it’s been barely washed (in his opinion), and her nose is way to big (again, in his opinion.)

“Next!” Prince Jimin yells with a wave of his hand. The girl walks away, not sighing out in relief until she’s a safe distance away from the prince’s and queens ear shot.

This is how it’s been for the past several days. Women of all titles and ages have been coming in from all points in the country to offer their hand to the crowned prince. He’s next in line to be king, and now that the current king has fallen ill it’s been assumed that the prince will be crowned soon. The king needs a queen, though. And the whole affair has been dreadful to the staff, and now even his mother

Not a single person has peaked Jimin’s fancy. He’s either sent them off the second they walked in the door, or called for their execution! Stating that the girl should be hung for treason, even though she’s done nothing wrong but show up.

In Jimin’s mind, though, some of the girls deserved it for “forgetting their manners.” There’s been three executions since starting this affair a week ago where there’s usually only one once every two weeks. All of them always been called upon from the prince, and because the king and queen spoil their son rotten they don’t care if a villager or low lords daughter dies. As long as they can see that smile on their sons face, their happy.

But with this affair, even the queens getting antsy. She knew from the very beginning that a title, no matter how big, would not just satisfy her son. He sees things, you see. Ever since he was little, he’s had a fascination with death. Starting with when they had to cover up his attempt at murder to a staffs son at age ten. Doctors don’t have the resources or knowledge to diagnosis his disorder yet, so all it takes is one girl he doesn’t see dying to be the one to marry the crowned prince.

Let just say, that’s harder said then done. Girl after girl was announced and each one left faster then the last. Jimin was starting to get antsy too, and when the prince gets antsy he finds his own way for entertainment.

A girl, about fourteen years old and an obvious no from Jimin, walks in. She’s blonde, and Jimin’s smile twitches upward as he imagines blood seeping down it. After the girl gives her introductions, apparently being the youngest princess for a country in bum fuck nowhere, Jimin comments, “I think you should change your hair color to red.”

The queen and head maid glance at each other, knowing where this is most likely going to lead, but as always they let their prince have his treacheries fun.

For the princess, who has no idea what he’s talking about, blinks up at him confused. “I-I’m sorry? Red?”

“Yes! Red! Have you ever thought about it?”

“I must say I haven’t, your majesty.”

Jimin smiles and it’s the cruelest thing the young princess has ever seen. “I could do it for you.”

“My son-“

“All I need is a blade and I’ll cut that skull right open. Then your hair would be nice and red,” Jimin then giggles and the young princess looks horrified.

The queen just sighs and then dismisses the girl. Once the room is cleared, she turns to her one and only son with a small smile. “My son, you do understand this is important, don’t you?”

Jimin rolls his eyes, leaning on his hand while he rests his elbow on the throne. “Yes, yes, mother. I know. It’s not my fault they all look prettier dead then alive.”

The queen swallows, ignoring her sons comment. “That maybe true for you, but the kingdom needs an alive queen. Why don’t you at least give this next girl a chance?”

Jimin sighs heavily, and slouches against the throne. Truthfully, he just found this whole charade to be pointless. He’s not going to fall for any of them at “first sight” or any of that whimsical bullshit. But his mother looks haggard. Not that he cares about his mothers health, not at all, but she is the queen of his kingdom and the fact he’s the one giving her this haggard look is not a good thing.

“Fine! I’ll-… try, mother.” He speaks in a hiss, and frowns as he faces the door. The queen then smiles, feeling like she made some progress, and gestures for the guard to bring in the next girl.

Jimin barely paid attention as the announcer said the girls name and title. He found the wall to his left far more interesting. Some princess from another bum fuck nowhere country that probably only helps his country with bread or some shit they really don’t need walks in. It’s all useless. He’s never going to find-

“M-my name is Princess y/n, and it’s a pleasure to meet you, your grace.” At the sound of her small voice, Jimin turns to look at the girl that’s just entered the room.

She’s clutching at her dresses skirt, making it look anything but presentable and her eyes are landing anywhere but on his own. That’s not what runs the princes speechless, though. It’s that he doesn’t see anything. He doesn’t see your death playing out in front of him, or blood seeping out from your every hole. He’s just sees you.

Your eyes are tearing up already, but it makes Jimin want to coax out those tears and lick them. He wants to stain your pink lips red by biting them, and find out what your heart looks like. This… these things… he’s never felt before.

Maybe wanting to pull out someone’s insides, yes, but never because you’re so beautiful to his eyes that he wants to paint you a controlled red. To keep you alive forget and keep you close to him. It runs him speechless, and he can’t take his eyes off of you. Not even when the head maid corrects you in your speech and posture. “It’s your majesty, princess. And stand up straight! Who taught you how to present yourself in front of royalty?”

“Lucy, shut up,” The prince commands. Both the maid, Lucy, and the queen look at him baffled, but his eyes are still on you. You look up at the prince, surprised when he defends you. Even though he’s deflected the maids command you still stand up straighter, and let go of your skirt. Instead opting to just have two shaking hands clenched at your sides. “Where are you from again, princess?”

Jimin’s voice was so soft, but it still sounded darker then anyones you’ve ever heard before. You answer his question, swallowing thickly when you stutter again. You’ve heard about this prince and what he’s been doing to other girls like you seeking out his hand. You’re only here because it’s your duty as the eldest daughter of your small kingdom to try and marry a high titled man. That doesn’t stop you from praying to the gods for Prince Jimin not to pick you.

But sadly, the gods are not on your side today.

“Perfect! A princess and she lives in a country that’s actually on the maps. You’ll be perfect!”

Your eyes widen, and you stutter out, “E-excuse me?”

Jimin stands from his throne, walking up to you still sporting his demon-like smile. “Your going to be my new queen.”

If it wasn’t for the shock, you would have fainted right there.

It’s a custom for the betrothed of the crowned prince to live within the castle a month before the wedding. Everything happened so fast after Jimin decided you would be the one he wanted to spend his entire life with.

He demanded the wedding be as soon as possible, and the best the king and queen of both countries could do is make it three months from the day he picked you. This really scorned the prince. He went out on a rampage and even started declaring the staffs executions and torture.

This is something that started peeking even the publics attention, and their staff went from a castle of two hundred to one hundred within a week. They had no choice but to push the wedding closer, if not to stop the prince’s unjustified tyranny, and so, it’s only been a week since you last saw him. You had one week so say goodbye to your siblings, and had to watch your mother try her best not to cry about her eldest baby being married off to the prince that has been know to be treacherous.

A life where you feel is going to be filled with nothing but fear.

The first day you’re at the kingdom, Jimin didn’t let you out of his sight. He followed you everywhere, and made you stay as close to his being without getting scolded by the chaperones. The chaperones were the worst because Jimin wasn’t allowed to threaten their deaths or tell them to fuck off. They had to be there to ensure purity within the relationship, and all of Jimin’s thoughts were anything but pure.

They just weren’t those thoughts exactly. He imagined biting your lip until it turned red, and scratching at that pale untouched skin of yours until it was marked by him forever. He wanted to taint your very being, and figure out why he never wished for your death.

You stuttered a lot, which was annoying, but anytime you clutched at your dress out of fear when Jimin got to close to you stirred on the other feelings. The other feelings you were grateful the chaperones were there for.

He wanted to fuck you bloody, and fuck your mind up with it to become the perfect wife for him. Whispering the curliest of his imaginations into your ears, and they got worse each day.

A week before your wedding, the prince couldn’t take it anymore. It was past midnight and the chaperones were not around. You were alone in our own separate room, and the prince had the devilish idea to come visit you while you were sleeping.

He woke you up by biting onto your neck, and you screamed bloody murder but it sounded like nothing, but a muffled scream against his hand that was covering your mouth. It got to the point you were crying, and Jimin licked up each of your tears.

Jimin looks down at your body that is in nothing but a thin nightgown. You clutch at the skirt of it, and it’s on that day you find out that action does nothing but stir him on. He didn’t go all the way with you that night, but the sadistic prince had his way with you nonetheless.

Tickling at your thighs, and no push of your hands could stop him from playing with your sex. It’s wasn’t until you begged, “P-please my love… N-n-not yet. We must be good.”

Your not sure how you came up with the idea, but the second you called him “my love” for the first time he was all ears to your begging. With a scoff and a roll of his eyes, he left you. Not before driving the first kiss of many to your parted lips.

You were too scared to fall asleep that night. Out of fear that he would come back and deny your begging. It wasn’t until a week later, that the begging wouldn’t even matter anymore.

After that fiasco, the one that left a significantly big bite mark on your neck, the prince was not allowed to see you until the wedding day. He hated being away from you. Almost scratching out someone’s eyes when they said they were with the soon to be queen before. Jimin kept his distance like a good boy, though. Because after today, no one would tell him he can’t be near you ever again.

The wedding went by smoothly, and no deaths—thank god—happened even while you were being greeted and congratulated by guests. Jimin hated others looking or talking to you. You’re his now, so no one should be allowed to see your beauty except him. He let it go once again, though. Because for once he didn’t want to scare you for what was about to come that night.

Once the wedding came to an end, Jimin practically dragged you to your new shared room. Ordering the staff to bring all your stuff in there the night before. You weren’t ever going to have separate rooms again, and Jimin was going to make sure you knew why.

“Oh my queen, my love, you’re finally here,” Jimin says while giving you a bone crushing embrace. You try to breathe through your nerves, even after he rips the back of your dress in two. Making you gasps from him exposing your smooth back to him in such a way.

He continues to hold you close and stares at the new exposed skin in the mirror behind you. Lightly gliding his fingers up and down your spine.

“You’re so beautiful,” Jimin says. It should be a compliment you take as is, but you’ve been around the prince enough by now to know what he’s going to say next. “I can’t wait to see what you look like when you bleed.”

The next day, you didn’t leave the bedroom. Not only were you not able to physically move without help, but because Jimin had the whole day off from any meetings and wanted to keep you within arms length. Which he did. Crushing your naked form into his chest and kissing the top of your head.

“You felt so good last night, darling. Did you like it? Did you feel as good as me last night?”

You swallow even though your throats dry from dehydration, and burry your face into the prince’s chest. Not wanting him to see the way your eyes build up with tears.

Last night was a painful affair to say the least, but worst of all from all his markings he left on you he left the worst he could give at the end. The marking he left on your very soul when he taught your body how to like it were far worse then any on your skin.

You shouldn’t have liked it. You should have hated every touch he gave you, but you didn’t. He’s tainted you and now your weeping into his chest as you painfully give him a truthful answer, “Yes… I liked all of it.”

Jimin pets your hair, smiling down at you.

He knows your not weeping onto his chest right now because you hate him. You’re crying because you loved it. If how your bodies reaction from last night said anything at all, he’s slowly tainting the very fibers of your being.

Tainting his new queen until you’re so ruined you start to love him. And he has forever to do so now.

“My queen… we’re going to have so much fun together. I love sososo much.”

You pick your head up from his chest, staring into his smiley eyes as you look him with red eyes. You swallow around the lump in your throat, and feel suddenly a whole lot lighter from his confession.

“Do you really?”

Jimin smirks, placing his hand on your cheek to wipe away a stray tear that’s leaked out of your eyes. “I do. I’ll love you forever, my queen.”

How could a person like him not love a person like you. You pushed the blood filled thoughts away, and instead gave him new thoughts to crave. Ones where he stretched out your pain mixed with pleasure, and wanting to spoil you with it instead of killing you with it.

So yes, the prince loves you. And the prince will love your forever…

As long as he doesn’t imagine killing you first…

Well first, thank you, I'm very flattered. I'm going to go ahead and acknowledge @therealvinelle here as well as she's I believe the one who originally posted the post about the very complicated topic of Jacob Black and his terrible choices throughout the series.

As for your questions there are a few pack questions in my inbox but it's mostly a matter that people keep asking questions about Bella and she keeps getting eaten.

Also, I'm not sure you want me answering these questions. Like all of Twilight, it's a bleak pit of despair.

But here we go

What About the Pack/Tribe After Breaking Dawn

There's a lot of shit going on in the tribe right now. Jacob leaving is just part of it.

They have an unprecedented number of shifters in the community and that's going to spell... a lot of issues in the years to come.

Namely, per Sam and Emily, domestic violence will be through the roof and kept very hushed up for the understandable reason of these people look like they were mauled by bears. This will also likely increase the number of deaths in the tribe, especially among those who are young. Accidents happen, it's not good, this is going to have a devastating impact on the people.

You also have a lot of angry, disaffected, young men who can no longer really be a part of society. They can't really attend school, can't even really leave the reservation for fear of turning into a wolf, they can't hold a job, at the age of nineteen or younger they each had their futures ripped away from them.

Some, Seth, handle this very well (possibly because he hasn't clued into what this means yet), others like Jake... do not. These people have had their lives turned upside down and in some cases utterly ruined: that's not good in any society.

Then you have the imprinting, lord, the imprinting.

To date, there's the Sam, Emily, and Leah disaster. The three of them handled it very well, but it still utterly destroyed Leah's life and emotional stability. Not helping, of course, is that Leah has had her very identity taken from her, has no privacy, and her only option of escape is to follow Jacob around which... we'll get to in a few paragraphs.

Added to that, you have the Claire/Quil disaster, in which the tribe is desperately trying to handle it by a) keeping it very quiet b) trying to make Quil just be the babysitter. That's unlikely to work out for them and is just angstfest all around and no one's fault.

And then, of course, Jacob/Renesmee. Jacob, having now imprinted, will follow Renesmee to the ends of the earth. He has no other purpose now. Which means that Leah and Seth, who are in his pack, get to follow along and uproot their lives. For the tribe this means they'll never be rid of the Cullens, not truly, and Billy has lost his son entirely. Not to mention it's guaranteed to go awful places.

Then you have the paternity questions this whole thing drudges up, the trauma of these children having to be sacred warriors and having slaughtered demons with human faces, many of whom were also once children and more.

The tribe and the pack are a goddamn mess.

Jacob imprinting on the Cullen hybrid daughter and leaving the tribe? Yeah, it's weird and no one likes it, but that isn't even the peak of the nonsense these people have to deal with.

Would the Other Girls Shift?

No.

Leah seems to have won the genetic shitty lottery. In 600 years of shifting, there has never been another woman, and Leah has all shifting bloodlines in her veins.

It seems Leah was just very unlucky.

Were other girls to shift I imagine they'd face much the same situation. Suddenly teenage boys are witnessing them naked, all the time, they have no choice to become sacred warriors (a role not typically meant for women and which will very much feel like 'the boy's club') and I don't get the idea that anyone learned anything from Leah.

Jake certainly didn't, he just thought she was Uber Bitch until she begged him to let her in his new pack and reminded him she was a human being with feelings.

The concept genuinely had not occurred to him.

idk why but i love love love the concept of hinata having like a completely opposite s/o kagehina. as in, i can see him so well with an alt!s/o or a goth!s/o. i can’t explain it it just works so well in my head

the fact that you were so mysterious and quiet really, and i mean really, peaked his interest. unlike literally any other character, he is nosy, and he wants to know why and how and when and who you are, so he does make effort to talk to you often

you always kinda just smile at him and give him one word replies. it’s not that you don’t like him, it’s more that you’re here for a reason and you don’t want him to get caught up in the middle of it all. you’d hate for something to happen to someone as pure as him

your attitude towards does not throw him off in the least. he’ll just want to get to know you even more

one of his upperclassmen, like tanaka or noya, probably notice and try telling him things about you to kinda back him off of you because they’re scared of you lowkey 

ik i used this scenario before but it fits hinata too; we all know he stays late to practice often, so it isn’t a surprise or it isn’t too odd that he stays yet another day until the sun has long since set. you’d only known he was in the volleyball club in passing, but you didn’t know him well enough to anticipate that he’d be in the gym this late

the most remote place, and the closest too, that you could think of at literally nine pm was the boys’ gymnasium, so you’d led the curse there in hopes of driving it away from other people around it. you hadn’t expected that you’d be leading the curse straight to another target 

hinata was the only one there, too, so it wouldn’t be too difficult to attack him 

one moment, he’s just tossing the ball against the wall and receiving it, the next the gymnasium is being broken into by some creature from above, followed by you and your angry yells

you were really focused on the curse, prepared to battle it and exorcise it, before you finally spot him. he’s frozen, the ball dropped from his hand and rolling away from him. the way he’s staring at you, and the way he keeps eyeing the creature in fear, it clicks something in you, you don’t know what

but you don’t give the curse a chance to even try and attack, immediately charging at it and exorcising it quickly, defeating it right away. it dies away with an agonizing yell and you’re pretty sure this’ll count as trauma for the poor kid before he rushes towards you, grasping your wrists and staring at you like you just hung the moon in the sky

like baby breathe omg 

even the way you laughed at him was intimidatingly hot he was a goner !!! 

now that he knows of your nature, it attaches him to your hip. you can’t get rid of him anymore but it’s okay he’s literally sunshine in human form 

as a duo, and as romantic partners, you really are complete opposites, but that’s why you fit so well together you know! 

if you can conjure up something like the divine dogs like megumi, expect him to constantly pester you for them <3

kuroo tetsurō

listen, he knew you were a little odd from the moment you joined nekoma. like there was no doubt about it there was something off about you. he had some type of feeling that you weren’t really here for the education you know? 

but the rational side of him convinced himself he wanted to live in some type of movie so he dropped it

he does try to get to know you, though, yeah, of course he had to fall for that one person that no one knows anything about 

kuroo’s just trynna be the main character lmfao

with kuroo, he actually succeeds in growing closer to you. i mean who can resist him? no one

it starts off simple, he’d invite you to games, sit with you during lunch, before it escalates more into walking you home some days, inviting you over during weekend games, inviting you over at outings with his friends

more often than not, especially when said outings happened during nighttime, you’d decline. he didn’t really think much of it though, he just let you be, you know? 

then, one time, you decide to go for it. 

he invites you out to the movies with some of the vbc boys, and you accept. you figure you being gone for a few hours won’t hurt anyone, and it wasn’t like there aren’t any other jujutsu sorcerers available in tokyo. it’s a big city, you rationalize 

halfway through the movie, something feels off, and as a sorcerer, you know to trust your gut instinct, so you excuse yourself to the bathroom to check the area out. kuroo, having felt like something wasn’t right with you, and being slightly worried himself, goes after you. 

turns out you were right. two people had already died by the time you come to the alleyway behind the theatre, and there’s a curse hovering by their bodies. you’re slower to react because of the initial shock, and when you see kuroo coming out of the same backdoor you’d just left out of, your body entirely freezes

until the curse jumps to attack him, and in a flash, you’re by his side, kicking away at the curse, watching as it smashes roughly against a wall 

kuroo’s immediately asking questions, but you can’t exactly focus on him at the moment. you prioritize eliminating and exorcising the curse first, and when that’s done and dusted, you lead kuroo away from the theatre

he’s very shaken by the whole scene, especially after having seen two corpses 

that night, you lead him to your home, and he stays there. he keeps you up all night, but it’s understandable. throughout it all, you reassure him of his safety constantly, telling him that you’d never let anyone or anything ever hurt him

it’s what brings you two closer together 

because that incident had been his introduction to that specific world, he grows very wary anytime you’re sent out on missions, but you always come back home to him, and that’s what matters <3

tsukishima kei 

please tsukki with a crush is hilarious cause he’s so bad at expressing his feelings 

you’re actually really similar to him in that you’re quiet and that you don’t really appreciate talking and conversing to others. you tend to keep to yourself, and he really respects that, like deep down 

he thought you were just a really timid person until he snaps at you once and you snap back. and then it was like everything that has ever happened to him led to this moment right here because what the fucsjdhwf

the fact that he recognized his feelings for you kinda made him even warier of you. like his scowl is deeper and his bite is harsher, but that’s really only because he does not know how to deal with these emotions. like he has a bad way of expressing them correctly 

you two build this small relationship between you. it’s like a teasing thing, where it’s literally just all bark and no bite. it’s lowkey fun, and you grow to appreciate his presence 

he doesn’t really question it when you miss days of schools, or when you return the days after that all bandaged and bruised. he figures it’s not his business to ask questions like that, and just continues to observe you from afar

anyways! one night he’s walking home, all alone, peacefully, before he sees you dash by him, being chased by??? what the fuck is that???

tsukki just pauses, but he’s not even like scared or worried he’s just confused and a little amused tbh. he stands in place while his eyes follow your movements as you allow the creature to chase at you, before you make a sharp turn and hit it, sending it flying back

except, you hadn’t realized the direction you’d hit it at

the curse goes flying at tsukki, and he’s just staring at it like, “hm,” not moving an inch. he’s trynna give you an aneurysm on god 

you scream at him to move, but you’re already rushing towards him. as soon as you can, you throw your arms around him and topple him to the ground. you land on top of him, but you don’t get to see his flustered face because you’re off of him way too soon, taking care of the issue at hand 

he’s a little surprised at the reason you’re always cut up and bruised, but he can’t say he’s not even a little amazed at just,,, how cool you seem

he’s still on the ground lol and you hit him with “i hope you’re not waiting for me to pick you up.”

“it is your fault i’m on the ground to begin with.”

you help him up 

with an eye roll of course 

when he’s standing again before you, he just sighs and lifts a finger to his face, as if to indicate to your face. then he says, “that explains all this then,” referring to the bruises painting your skin 

your relationship doesn’t change much for a while after that, except that knowing glance he gives you every time you walk into class exhausted 

likes to call it monster hunting for some reason 

clearly you’re the only one out of the two of you with any balls because you’re the one that confesses. thanks for saving him the trouble hehe

he’ll never tell you to your face, but he thinks he is incredibly lucky to have someone as badass as you as his s/o

kozume kenma 

kenma probably took note of your exceptional situation for a few, but he didn’t give it much thought initially. like so what if you were super secretive? not like anyone knew much of him himself 

it’s not until kuroo or someone points out like, “they’re quite odd, right?” that he starts to pay attention, but he’s not sure why

maybe he’s trying to convince himself and others that you’re not really odd for being the way that you are. just secretive and mysterious and introverted. like. does that make him odd? 

he starts to notice things like you staying after school for late, late hours, but not because you’re a part of any club, and things like your missing of school, or how your knuckles are always, always bandaged and wrapped, or how you seemed to be at the oddest of locations at the oddest of times

it’s not really like him to be too interested in what you do, so he doesn’t invest all his thoughts and energy into. he does though dwell over it for a lot longer than you’d think 

sometimes, kenma takes a console of his, and heads up his rooftop, because it just feels really safe where nobody and nothing can get to him

he’s proven wrong one night when, in the middle of the game, he hears thumps across the rooftop. he thinks he’s being tricked by the game he’s playing, until he feels something behind him, until the hairs on the nape of his neck stand and a shive runs down his spine because there is something breathing down his neck

and then he hears your all too familiar voice whispering out, “don’t move, please.” 

it’s honestly not like he could 

he sees you from the corner of his eye move in a flash, and suddenly, when the feeling is gone, he finds himself able to move again, and he turns around

it honestly looks like a scene from a movie, what he’s staring at. you battle the curse so well, and kenma is fully and shamelessly enamored by you and the way you moved so swiftly and efficiently, as you dodge and attack, and as you finally exorcise 

like he’s so in awe he has to pinch himself to convince himself he’s not dreaming 

when the curse is taken care of, you just slowly approach him, kneeling by his side and asking in a soft voice if he was okay. he decided then and there that no, you were not odd at all. you just saved his life, so,,,

you urge him to go back inside, to stay safe, and he just nods as you lead the way to his window. and when he slips inside, for some reason, he finds it in himself to ask you to stay too

to stay safe, of course

it takes you by surprise a little, but at the genuineness in his eyes, you accept, and stay up playing games with him

and when you greet him in school the next day with a smile and a wave, kenma returns it, just as brightly <3
