mildly entertaining pjo fandom curse (mostly in that you can make games out of it):
everybody draws Piper showing skin. half the time Shel as well. literally almost EVERYBODY. go look at Piper fanart. is she wearing a crop top? i bet she is. or if she's wearing a dress hers is gonna be one of the most revealing. bonus points if they gave her a belly button piercing. and it's almost always only Piper and/or Shel. i thought we had a whole discussion about sexualizing young indigenous girls back in like 2021 but i guess nobody processed that part cause pjo fandom acts like if they dont have Piper show her stomach or have her shirt ride up they'll die.
the curse is that you will never unsee this. have fun with that.
#pjo#riordanverse#piper mclean#my friend inflicted this curse onto me and now i must inflict it unto you#like obviously just drawing Piper wearing a croptop by itself is not egregious on it's own but its EVERYBODY *ONLY* draws her in a croptop#as like her default outfit. constantly.#and *ONLY* her. this is not done for any other characters - including other Aphrodite kids. Only Piper (and maybe Shel)#anyways this is what i have to deal with every time i look at piper fanart#its like same 4 things: crop top. bad skin tones and/or stereotyped nose. feathers. and/or beaded earrings#thats it thats all Piper fanart in a nutshell#(the last one like nine times out of ten ends up just feeling like exoticization)#(cause if pjo fandom doesnt have a visual indicator of her being native american or cant ''make her look 'more native''' they die or smth)#btw if you ever say the phrase ''make her look 'more native''' about Piper or Shel or etc i'll eat your kneecaps#saying those words gives me legal permission to hunt you for sport. btw. it also means you owe me 20 dollars.#anyways fun drinking game or etc: take a shot every time piper has a crop top or her shirt up somehow in fanart#warning: my friend and i played this game with water and we both finished like two full bottles of water in like an hour#its REALLY BAD#we literally have a game of every time we share piper fanart in the gc one of us will call out ''her stomach is showing'' and we all scream

Kai,llyod, and Cole hc of them with a s/o that's kinda like a child of aphrodite from pjo? A bit more like piper though, they hate their gift and have to deal with cat callers alot?
I got cat called by way older men on the way home so this would be really comforting.
A/N:sorry it took so long to get this out for you. Ik my words can't offer much, but I'm sorry you get catcalled, it's not a fun feeling.
Sugar and spice-> Gn! Reader
individual headcanons of kai, cole and lloyd with a stunning S/O
Kai:
Kai, despite being extremely similar to his element in a multitude of ways, is an utter gentleman.
Hes always respectful of you, and makes sure to ask before he touches you in anyway, and is respectful with his eyes as well
With this said, as you guys grow close and start dating, he becomes uber protective of you.
He knows your very stunning.
And he knows others know that as well.
But alot of times, these people are creepy and go about saying: "hi, your outfit is cool" weirdly
And so he won't hesitate to punt a bitch into the sun
Most likely to throw a punch before a word leaves the creeps mouth.
And if your ever feeling gross and icky bc of the creeps?
Bros pulling out every stop.
Hes getting Zane to make a 10 course Michelin star meal, he's getting your comfort items, a hoodie (yours or his, doesn't matter) and he's becoming a 10/10 massager
Hes getting self care items, and a bath along with movies and cuddles with a side of shoulder to cry on
But if you get angry about the creeps??
He eggs you on. Agrees with you"YEAH BABE, FUCK THOSE ASSWIPES"
he will actively encourage any fist fights fights want to start with them
Hes your number 1 hype man, as well as comforter
Cole:
This man worships the ground you walk on. Just generally
Also drinks the respect tea (all of them do)
Hes always telling you how amazing you look, and even gives advice for anything you may need
Clothes? Food? Whatever hobby your working on?
He just has a eye for style of all categories
Hes generally also more down to earth, and realizes its much more than looks that makes a person
Which is why it takes him a bit longer to confess, as he wanted to get to know you better first (this man is demiromantic and demisexual)
Hes also fucking oblivious
So when people are more... sly about their intentions, like wording and such, he prolly won't notice
But the second he gets wind of what they are tryna pull
Hes super passive aggressive
And he slings a arm around your shoulder, or hides you behind him
Trys to talk it out first, and if they don't catch the hint they will catch his hands
Hes not... great with comfort tbh
His mom's dead and his dad's lowkey emotionally unavailable so he's not good at it
But he will rub your back when you cry, and buy takeout
He'll also prolly ask kai or Jay about how to comfort you better, bc both had either a sibling or parent.
He would ask Nia buts she's a younger sibling with a emotional brick wall of a brother so it's next to never she did some comforting.
Hes a little confused when it comes to comfort but Hes got spirit
Lloyd:
He has always been a little silly
So expect to bark at your aggressors
Idk why I just see him barking at your catcallers
Besides that
Hes always relied more on personality for if he likes someone, like cole
Not that kai doesn't care for personality he does, but looks plays a bigger factor for kai than they do cole and lloyd
Anyways
Off topic
Lloyd doesn't make a big deal how you look. Like doesn't comment on your outfits like cole.
Doesnt mean he doesn't think you don't look nice, bc he thinks you look lovely always
But moreso doesn't give a fuck
Wear a potato sack, or go naked, he doesn't give a fuck he just wants to get to the mall before it closes to he can check out the anime shops
He Def has a idrc additude, especially in dragon rising i feel, so I think if you want compliments you'd have to be outright about it, whereas the other two just kinda;"aww my partner is lovely🥰🥰"
And he's like;"babe, love you to bits and pieces but hurry the fucketh upeth I wanna get there before the fucking store closes"
And bc of that he's also the worst at comfort
Like he's always been told to suck it up so he kinda just is like... cool you done? And stands there awkwardly. He will get better with time, but please explain how to help better for future moments bc he was a Lil scared when you started crying.
Anyways back to the beginning about when mfs are being creepy
Barks at them
Fr barks
Bc it weird them out and he thinks it's funny
Or just tries to be as weird as possible
Like starts acting possessed
Crawls backwards on all fours like the lady from the ring or smth
If generally weirdness doesn't work he fights them
Though he tries to scare them off first

capture the flag - leo valdez
Request: nope Pairing: leo valdez x apollo!reader Summary: during capture the flag, no one gets stuck in leo's traps and he wants to find out why Warnings: none Word count: 800 A/N: this has been sitting in my drafts for a while and now that I'm back in my pjo era time to finish it! enjoy :)
capture the flag is always fun. it's a nice way for people to train together while it feels like a game. even though sometimes people get too competitive.
it gives leo the chance to litter the forest with traps, and to test new inventions. of course, he could test them in the bunker or on his friends. but this is the real deal. no one knows where the traps are, how many there are. it's the perfect conditions to test them.
he's made a new batch of them but for some reason none of the traps work.
whenever he goes to check on them, they're all disabled. no one's activated them, or he would have found a fellow camper near one.
and leo is absolutely sure he activated them. they didn't blow up so there's nothing wrong with them.
and yet they're disabled.
rather than trying to capture the flag, he decides to hide in the bushes near one of his traps to see what - or who - is disabling them.
he listens to the sounds of the woods around him and pulls stuff out of his tool bel two mindlessly build little machines.
after a while, he spots movement out of the corner of his eye.
whoever it is moves quietly and gracefully. so definitely not an ares kid, leo concludes.
the person slowly walks over to leo's trap, careful where they put their feet down on the forrest floor.
leo watches as they walk around the trap, examining it. he shifts to get a better look at who it is.
he frowns slightly. he would have expected someone from the hermes cabin. maybe piper because he's spent a lot of time trying to explain his machines to her.
but he didn't expect it to be a daughter of apollo.
to be fair, leo thought the apollo cabin didn't know anything about traps or machines in general. their skills were mostly archery, medicine and music. not traps built by a hephaestus kid.
leo's eyes follow your hand movements as you carefully prod around the trap. surely you wouldn't be able to- and you disabled it.
smiling to yourself, you straighten your back and us your foot to slide the now useless trap aside.
when you turn around, you hear leaves rustle behind you.
instinctively, you knock an arrow on your bow and turn on your heel.
you are met by leo, who is frantically waving his hands in front of his face.
'don't shoot, don't shoot! I come in peace!' he yells.
you lower your bow. 'leo! gods, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you!'
'that's alright.' says leo, lowering his hands. 'I was the one hiding behind you.'
you frown. 'why were you hiding anyway? usually you like to be in the middle of the action.' you say.
'can't help the fact people start fighting over me wherever I go.' says leo, making you chuckle.
'yeah, right, valdez. as if anyone could come near you with the amount of traps you're setting.' you say.
'speaking of which.' says leo, walking over to his trap and picking it up to examine it. 'how did you know where the kill switch was on this?'
you shrug. 'that's a tactical secret I can't reveal.' you say. 'for future capture the flag purposes.'
'or you just got lucky.'
'23 times?'
'yeah, that seems unlikely.'
you smile. 'there's a window in the roof of bunker nine.' you say. 'it's actually a two way mirror. it doesn't let any light through. gives me a perfect view of your workspace, though.'
'so the tactical secret is spying.' says leo.
'can't win if you don't play a little dirty every now and then. plus it's cool to see all the stuff you create.'
you shoulder your bow. 'good luck activating all of the traps again.' you say. 'I need to get back to my cabin.'
you start to walk toward the noise your fellow campers are making, to see if your team is winning and how you can help.
'hey!'
you turn around to see leo is still standing in the clearing with the trap in his hands.
'if you want to, I could show you how to make these? then you will be able to do more than just disable them.' he says.
you smile at him, you've always liked leo.
but you are surprised, you know leo is kind of protective of bunker 9 and usually only Hephaestus kids go inside. it must be a huge deal for someone from another cabin to be invited into the bunker.
and Leo wants you here.
'sure.' you say. 'I'd like that. but first we have to steal your flag.'
'oh no, you won't.' says leo.
with one last smile, you disappear into the woods, leaving leo to reactivate his trap before coming after you.

my annabeth chase headcanons because i ♡ my blonde gf
i call her annie as if i know her?? anyway
(doing this while listening to my annabeth playlist i love life)
picture me this. you sit behind annabeth during college lectures. she has her laptop open and airpods in at ALL times. you’d assume she’s taking digital notes and listening to music? WRONG. you look at her screen, it’s sims 4 (occasionally bloxburg). every build is absolutely stunning. what’s she listening to? true crime podcasts (there’s one or two about percy). you see her open her grades one day? straight A’s.
annie braiding EVERYONE’S hair when she needs a distraction. im talking leo walking around the argo with two tiny cute braids sticking out of the side of his head like antlers. im talking hazel showing up to capture the flag with the most beautiful goddess braids youve ever seen. im talking percy having an adorable little hairdo (long haired percy pls consider) and outright refusing to take it off
when dealing with monsters or bad guys, she’s really good at hiding her thoughts and emotions, but in everyday life? oh my goodness. you say one incorrect fact about the library of alexandria and this girl stares at you like she’s going to rip your eyeballs out.
she plays jenga with leo. it's a madhouse whenever they do. architect vs engineer stop.
really likes painting her nails but the nail polish lasts approximately twenty minutes. she never lets it dry properly because shes ALWAYS doing something and it gets smudged, or she bites her nails absentmindedly. silena would always have to resist the urge to give annabeth a manicure whenever she saw her nails.
you’re lying if you think annie wouldn’t meet up with alex and magnus for falafel at LEAST once a month
when she was younger (7 or 8 years old), she very easily blended into the background. which was a result from her stepmom’s and father’s neglect. she usually went unnoticed and you probably wouldn't notice she was in the room until she talked.
girl’s day once a month with reyna, piper, rachel, and hazel. nico occasionally gets invited.
annabeth in first grade hitting a kid upside the head with a textbook for calling her a dumb blonde.
ANNABTEH IN FURST GRADE GETTING UP EARKY IN THE MORNING TO WATCH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC IM DONE (im projecting)
i mean thalia and luke probably pretended annabeth was their daughter at least ONCE in a desperate attempt to not get in trouble with the cops
really really flexible?? for some reason? idk
some might have you believe that annabeth is the mom friend of the argo. youre wrong. jason’s the mom, annabeth is the cool older sister who teaches you how to pick a lock or sneak out. i mean c'mon she had thalia as a role model. annabeth is the aunt that you gossip with. annabeth is the sister that helps you with your homework, but also lets you cheat if it’s unnecessary/difficult.
this is prolly canon cause she’s an architect BUT in my architecture class today i learned that you have to use inclined (like this) handwriting in all caps and it’s kinda messy so NO annabeth does NOT have fancy loopy handwriting (also she’s dyslexic?? loopy handwriting and dyslexia do not go very well together guys)
left handed annabeth <33

elaborating on my Texan Leo post
I said none of his friends were prepared for this chaotic bisexual liberal Dumb Of Ass to have a yeehaw accent. I am correct. They were not.
@moa-broke-me brought up the fabulous point that Jason goes nonverbal if English is too hard on his brain (not really related but it’s a language hc so)
The first time Percy heard it, he got so freaked out he slipped into his own hidden accent— very, very New York
Annabeth’s immediate reaction was to throw a shoe at him because he snuck up on her and her first thought about hearing that accent is That’s my dad and she’ll be damned if she lets her dad catch her playing the Sims on her Daedalus laptop. She apologized profusely as Leo iced his forehead where the Nike had connected and Jason laughed at them both
Frank just looks at him like “😐 I thought you were from Arizona” (bc Wilderness School)
Piper SCREAMS and she’s now made it a habit that every single time they pass a cow on the side of the road she asks him what kind it is (half the time he doesn’t even know)
And I could talk for a while about everyone else’s reactions as well but I want to talk more about Jason
Jason, who now has to deal with Leo getting all up in his space and whispering in his ear in that STUPID ACCENT all because he mentioned it was kinda hot
And ohohoho boy
Leo loves being hot (it’s like his whole thing)
And Leooo now has the upper hand as far as nicknames go, because Jason used to be able to give him this soft smile and start a sentence with “Hey, babe,” and Leo would live and die for him just like that
But now he gets to go “Darlin’, could you—?” and Jason blushes and gets so flustered he nearly misses Leo’s hand to give him the thing he asked for
Anyways if you have further ideas lmk I’m only MIDwestern not fully cowboy🤠🤠

idek if you do HC i feel like ive never seen you do them? anyways cuddling HC w piper mclean 🫧
hey love!! I think I've done a few but they usually turn into small quickies
❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥
❥ When Piper cuddles, she wraps her entire form around the receiving person. Her legs get tangled between yours, toes sliding down your calves as her arm dives underneath you to hold you tighter. Her hands make a small maze behind your back.
❥ She leaves little kisses across your forehead since that's where she can reach with her head so close to yours. She likes looking at you, your face, being able to affirm herself at anytime that you really are there. With her.
❥ She tends to fall asleep a lot during cuddles, the reassuring motions of your hands on her back and your breath on her face lulling her into dreams. Nightmares don't come often if she falls asleep in your arms and when she wakes up well rested, it's because she's in your grip.
❥ She does like face-to-face cuddles quite a bit, to study your expressions and to be able to kiss you at any time. But she also loves being the little spoon! She loves knowing you don't think go her as a burden and she won't ask for it but always agrees when you offer to spoon her.
❥ She loves being the big spoon too, esp when you're upset or when she feels like smelling your shampoo. She prefers it a lot when you feel like you're weighing her down because it simultaneously lets her ground you tightly and it keeps her facial expressions hidden. She usually gets emotional about her own insecurities hearing you talk bad about yourself, knowing what it feels like and she doesn't want you to feel like she's making it about herself.
❥ She of course cares about your comfort, firstly making sure you're tucked in the blankets and resting on a pillow. She asks every now and then if you're okay with your position, usually when she shifts or you move.
❥ If you seem uncomfortable or tell her you are, she will very quickly and carefully detangle herself, making sure there is a good amount of distance between you two while asking if you're alright.
❥ And if you don't like cuddling face-to-face or so tightly, even though Piper really does, she will agree to anything as long as she gets to hold you. She has intense anxiety over accidentally hurting you or charmspeaking you and will do anything in her power to guarantee your comfort.
❥ She truly though needs comfort herself sometimes, and that's usually how cuddles happen. Her confidence is mostly stable but there will be the occasional moment when it slips and she goes back to thinking she is only trouble and useless.
❥ She doesn't like telling you when she feels this way, hating to be even more of a burden but you can see it in her kaleidoscope eyes. It starts with a reluctant discussion, you reassuring her and eventually tucking her in your arms and gently brushing away tears.
❥ Piper likes the way you love in these moments, all soft and caring and intentional. Love can be messy and confusing but in your relationship, it only gets messy in the kitchen. You always try to communicate with her and she tries to do the same, both of you making sure you have conversations, not arguments and that your needs are met. And after a rough convo, it almost always ends with her holding you.
❥ She can cry a lot during cuddling and sometimes, it's just from the sheer overwhelming force of her love for you. You always keep tissues next to your bed and these special moments where it's just you two intertwining to become one are always a place for vulnerability.
❥ She is definitely a physical touch gal and just needs to be kissed and pet and held sometimes. She can survive without it, esp if you don’t feel like giving it, but she had to go so long without proper attention and affection that it hurts for her to be without it again.
❥ Since she had to deal with an absent mom and an absent dad, knowing that you put down any distractions (ex; books, phone) and just stay present with her as you hold her means the world. She absolutely kisses you dizzy when you just stare at her and listen to her and admire her.

Piper & Companions - First Impressions vs Final Opinion
Tag game: Give your KC’s first impression and final opinion of each of their companions!
tagged by @dujour13! thank you!
i've already lost track of who's done this, so if you want to do it (or do it again), i'm tagging you! yes, you!
First Impressions
Seelah: “Wonderful- on top of everything else I have to deal with, there’s also a Paladin. At least this one seems to have a better spirit about it than most.”
Camellia: "There's a rich girl if I've ever seen one. She sure does remind me of someone..."
Lann: "Odd fellow. I can't decide if he's smart or an idiot. Either way, he thinks far too highly of me. But I think I like him."
Wenduag: "Someone who looks like that has a lot of nerve bad-mouthing tieflings. Unfortunately, she seems useful right now."
Woljif: "Him, I understand. And I just might take him up on that offer to leave before things get too messy. Thieves and outcasts gotta stick together, yeah?"
Ember: "What is she doing here? Why does she insist on sticking around? Someone needs to be responsible for her, and I really don't think I'm the right person for that."
Daeran: "Ugh. All I wanted to do was steal some silverware, now I'm stuck with the most obnoxious person in Mendev."
Nenio: "She certainly has her own set of priorities. And if nothing else, she knows how to provide a good distraction."
Ulbrig: "Is he really as old as he says he is? Or is he just as crazy as he seems? It's getting harder and harder to tell the difference these days."
Galfrey: "She's a tough one to read. But I must have convinced her I know what I'm doing if she's trusting me- me!- with the Crusade. I hope she never realizes how much of this I'm making up as I go."
Sosiel: "An absolute dear! I could talk about art with him all day long. I can't imagine what possessed him to go to war, of all things, but I'm glad he's here. That's probably selfish of me, but there you go."
Regill: "Huh. I thought he'd be gargoyle food by now. Pity."
Trever: "Nobody should have to go through this. I'm going to get him out of here, and then I'm going to burn this place to the ground."
Arueshalae: "I know this voice...I just never imagined it belonged to a succubus. Maybe I'm the fool for getting close to her, but she helped us- and more than that, Desna vouched for her. That's enough for me."
Greybor: "He's shrewd; people underestimate the value of that. That's why I don't trust him beyond what I pay him. He can say what he wants, but contracts are broken every day."
Aivu: "I have no idea what's happening anymore but yes of course we're best friends!"
Final Opinion
Seelah: “She’s pretty amazing. I’d have died many times over if not for her, but it's more than that- nothing keeps her down, and she’s the most loyal friend I’ve ever had. I trust her, and coming from me? That's a big deal.”
Camellia: "I should have stopped her sooner, I know. I could justify my choices, but really...I was afraid of having to fight her. I ended up having to do that, anyway. I do wish it could have been different."
Lann: "Definitely an idiot. I thought we were friends, but- I don't know. I still like him enough to hope he stops trying to throw his life away, at least."
Wenduag: "I did give her a chance. I suppose I always knew what would happen, but- well, you can't blame me for hoping."
Woljif: "He's my best friend and my brother and still the only person who I think totally gets me. I'm proud of how far he's come- how far we've come."
Ember: "I guess she could take care of herself pretty well, in the end. She takes care of others, too. I still wish she didn't have to, but at least she's happy."
Daeran: "I still think he's the most obnoxious person in Mendev, but...he's grown on me. If nothing else, he's the perfect partner for wine and gossip."
Nenio: "It's funny- I've gone by a lot of names in my lifetime, and that's never bothered me. But I'm really glad she remembers this one."
Ulbrig: "An actual god, huh? I couldn't have made up a story this fantastical. It's going to make a great song."
Galfrey: "I wish her the best, but...things just aren't the same. Whatever friendship we might have had at one point, I don't think it can be recovered. I suppose I'm mature enough now to forgive, but still not enough to forget."
Sosiel: "Still an absolute dear. And I'm still glad to know him. He has a strength few people see; I feel lucky, to be able to see it."
Regill: "Maybe I was harsh on him at first. Not that he doesn't deserve it, but...he stuck by me, even when I really thought he wouldn't. I guess that counts for something."
Trever: "He's still a good man, and he deserves a good life. I don't know if he believes that yet, but he's getting there."
Arueshalae: "My sunshine, my miracle, my happy ending. I could write a ballad in her honor every day for the rest of my life, and it would never be enough to say how much I love her. She says I've made her a better person, but we all know it's really the other way around."
Greybor: "I don't care if he's the most feared assassin in the demon realms, I know the truth- he's a big old softie."
Aivu: "Still best friends. Still the best part about being an Azata!"

Daughter of Olympus (Leo Valdez xFem!Oc)
A/N: Does Ara deserve all the shit she's going through? Maybe. I am not allowed to share that info yet -Danny Words: 3,586 Series' Masterlist Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
Listen to: 'All a Dream' -by Vacation Manor
IV. I'm Straight-Up Not Having a Good Time
"Hold it!" Annabeth says. "How can he be the son of Zeus? The Big Three... their pact not to have mortal kids... how could we not have known about him sooner?"
Ara scoffs. "I'm not even surprised."
"The important thing," Rachel intervenes, "is that Jason's here now. He has a quest to fulfill, which means he will need his own prophecy."
Someone brings a stool and helps her sit. A green, familiar mist surrounds Rachel's body. "Child of lightning, beware the earth," she starts in her oracle voice. "The giants' revenge the seven shall birth, The forge and dove shall break the cage, And death unleash through Hera's rage."
"Is that normal?" Piper blurts out. "I mean... does she spew green smoke a lot?"
"Gods, you're dense!" Drew rolls her eyes. "She just issued a prophecy—Jason's prophecy to save Hera! Why don't you just—"
"Drew," Annabeth stops her. "Piper asked a fair question. Something about that prophecy definitely isn't normal. If breaking Hera's cage unleashes her rage and causes a bunch of death... why would we free her? It might be a trap, or—or maybe Hera will turn on her rescuers. She's never been kind to heroes."
"That's not true," Ara tries to be the voice of reason. "Prophecies are misleading, it could be talking about a god—"
"You mean Hades?"
"Maybe, or some other minor god. We have to be careful, you know what happens when we take a prophecy too literally."
Jason stands up. "Hera took my memory. I need it back. Besides, we can't just not help the queen of the heavens if she's in trouble."
Nyssa stands up. "Maybe. But you should listen to Annabeth. Hera can be vengeful. She threw her own son—our dad—down a mountain just because he was ugly."
"Real ugly," an Aphrodite kid mutters.
"Shut up! Anyway, we've also got to think—why beware the earth? And what's the giants' revenge? What are we dealing with here that's powerful enough to kidnap the queen of the heavens?"
Behind Ara, Annabeth and Chiron have a silent conversation. Ara's seen that too many times, and right now she doesn't want to, she wants to get things done.
"It's Jason's quest," Annabeth sighs, "so it's Jason's choice. Obviously, he's the child of lightning. According to tradition, he may choose his companions... but our Strategus must greenlight the whole thing. Ara?"
The girl rolls her eyes. "Like I would say no to saving the queen of Olympus! I allow Jason to take this quest, and I'm going with him."
Someone else adds: "Well, obviously you too, Annabeth. You've got the most experience."
"No, Travis," Annabeth makes a face. "First off, I'm not helping Hera. Every time I've tried, she's deceived me, or it's come back to bite me later. Forget it. No way. Secondly, I'm leaving first thing in the morning to find Percy."
The girl looks at Ara with a hint of annoyance mixed with pity. She's upset Ara can't help, the gods are her priority whether she likes it or not, but at the same time... Ara chose that.
"It's connected," Piper insists. "You know that's true, don't you? This whole business, your boyfriend's disappearance—it's all connected."
"How?" Drew scoffs. "If you're so smart, how?"
"You're mouthy today," Ara replies moodily. "If the big prophecy's happening, who do you think will be a part of it? Surely not the boy from the last one, that's too obvious!"
Annabeth forces herself to move on from that. "You may be right, Piper. If this is connected, I'll find out from the other end—by searching for Percy. As I said, I'm not about to rush off to rescue Hera, even if her disappearance sets the rest of the Olympians fighting again. But there's another reason I can't go. The prophecy says otherwise."
"It says who I pick," Jason nods. "The forge and dove shall break the cage. The forge is the symbol of Vul—Hephaestus."
Nyssa looks uncomfortable but tries to be polite. "If you have to beware the earth, you should avoid traveling overland. You'll need air transport. The flying chariot's broken, and the pegasi, we're using them to search for Percy. But maybe Hephaestus Cabin can help figure out something else to help. With Jake incapacitated, I'm senior camper. I can volunteer for the quest..."
Leo stands up. "It's me."
Ara doesn't think this is selfless, there was something in the way he looked at Hera before, he's hiding something. Leo's siblings try to pull him back to his seat, but he pushes them away. "No, it's me. I know it is. I've got an idea for the transportation problem. Let me try—I can fix this!"
"We started this together, Leo," Jason smiles a little. "Seems only right you come along. You find us a ride, you're in." To Ara's surprise, he looks at her waiting for approval. "That okay?"
"It's the right call," she agrees.
"Yes!" Leo raises a fist to the sky.
"It'll be dangerous," Nyssa warns him. "Hardship, monsters, terrible suffering. Possibly none of you will come back alive."
"Oh," he stops, then studies the place and smiles again. "I mean... Oh, cool! Suffering? I love suffering! Let's do this."
Ara chuckles. It's not at all like her real laughter, but it's enough to catch his attention. Ara locks eyes with Leo and sees his face brightening at her reaction.
"Then, Jason," Annabeth continues, unaware of this exchange. "You only need to choose the fourth quest member. The dove—"
"Oh, absolutely!" Drew stands. "The dove is Aphrodite. Everybody knows that. I am totally yours."
"Wait, Annabeth," Ara steps forward. "I'm a daughter of Aphrodite—"
"No," she gives her a look. "You were."
"That doesn't mean I'm not the dove!"
"I don't see why the oracle would call you that."
Piper stands up. "I don't think it's about you, Ara."
"Oh, please, Dumpster girl," Drew frowns. "Back off."
"I had the vision of Hera; not you. I have to do this."
"Anyone can have a vision. You were just at the right place at the right time. Isn't that right, Ara?" She mocks. "Look, fighting is all fine, I suppose, and people who build things... Well, I suppose someone has to get their hands dirty. But you need charm on your side. I can be very persuasive. I could help a lot."
"I have as much charm as you," Ara argues. "And I'm better at it too."
"Really? 'Cause it hasn't been that way for—"
"I don't like manipulating people when they're vulnerable—"
Annabeth stops them again. "Given the wording of the prophecy, Ara, Jason needs another Aphrodite. If Drew wants to..."
"No!" Piper raises her voice, it changes and echoes. "I'm supposed to go."
"Get over it!" Drew hisses. "What can Piper do? She's not from our cabin!"
Ara's smile is hard to hide as she notices the glow surrounding Piper. "Lady Aphrodite disagrees."
Piper sees herself wearing a different set of clothes than the ones she was wearing a second ago: A silky gown, a necklace, and armbands make a nice contrast against her skin. Her hair is no longer chopped off irregularly. "Oh, god... What's happened?"
"Beautiful," Jason breathes. "Piper, you... you're a knockout."
"Smooth," Ara whispers next to him.
"No!" Drew whines. "Not possible!"
"This isn't me," Piper objects. "I... I don't understand."
"It's not meant to be you," Ara explains. "It's your mother."
"Hail, Piper McLean," Chiron kneels. "Daughter of Aphrodite, lady of the doves, goddess of love."
Ara doesn't know whether to walk away or go to Piper, but then Jason moves first, so she goes back to the Big House. Lily Saggio is waiting for her on the porch.
"Busy day?"
"And I still have to get you a birthday present," she gives her a tired smile. "What is it, Lils?"
The black-haired girl looks at her worryingly. "You're going?"
"That was the whole point of this, remember?"
"But if Annabeth leaves too, we'll have no leader. You're supposed to be our protector—"
"I'm protecting camp by going on this quest," Ara raises a brow. "If Hera doesn't show up by solstice time..." she pauses, Lily wasn't around when Zeus's lightning was stolen. "It'll be like when Annabeth and Artemis went missing."
Her friend sighs. "As your second in command, I say you should think twice before leaving."
"Saggio, take a look at the group that's been chosen," Ara says in a serious tone. "Jason doesn't know who he is, and the other two have zero training. I gotta protect them as much as I gotta protect camp, if not more."
Her friend understands, but she isn't pleased. Lily is rarely pleased. "You know, it feels like all you do is say no to me nowadays."
"Well, if you didn't suggest I quit every time we talk, I wouldn't do so," she teases her.
"I'm asking you to set your priorities straight," Lily states, seemingly not amused. "What about Percy?"
"Percy loves this camp, he was once willing to die for us."
"And now his sister is too," the girl scowls. "Mike knew how to talk you out of stuff..."
The name sends a powerful detonation of pain through her and she has to take a moment before speaking. Ara shakes her head and pats Lily's shoulder as she walks past. "G'night, piccola."
As she makes her way into the house and up to her room, Michael's ghost haunts her. Ara's not even capable of saying his name out loud, and when others do, she has a hard time keeping it together.
She likes to imagine him in the islands... but he's probably chosen rebirth, 'cause that's the kind of obstinate jerk he always was. They never got to see him one last time, not even Lily during all those weeks she helped Hades in the Underworld.
I look at the Isles of the Blest—three lives experienced at their fullest—and I have a pleasant tug on the pit of my stomach.
"That's what it's all about," Annabeth says dreamily. "That's the place for heroes."
"I wish I could go..."
"It's not too late," she nudges my side. "You can be a hero one day, you're still young."
"Three times in a row? Unlikely," I grimace. "Make sure to wave when I walk past your huge mansion once I die?"
Annabeth frowns. "What makes you think I'll die first?"
"I'm not saying you'll die tomorrow," I argue. "But I am younger."
"Only by two years!"
"Whatever," I tease her. "Is there a shortcut to the Isles? Like if you die during a less busy time of the year you get a free pass?"
She laughs. "Don't think so."
"There is," Grover informs us. "The children of Olympus got a direct pass."
"So that's a no-go too," Annabeth dismisses it. "One of them didn't even die, did he? He became a God."
"It was a different time, being a hero meant something. Now is just a term," Grover shrugs. "The Gods won't give that title now, but Ara asked if there was a shortcut, and that's it."
Percy calls after us and my friends walk away without another glance at the Isles. I look over my shoulder, wishing I could get in. No need to suffer a tough childhood again...
The next morning, Ara takes the aviator jacket, maybe she shouldn't, but Nico had it coming (he fell asleep in her bed once and refused to leave, he kicked her in his sleep the whole night).
She visits cabin ten, feeling weird about going there as a guest. A little girl rushes past holding a bunch of clothes, all of her siblings are cleaning but Drew is nowhere to be found. Piper's talking to Mitchell and Lacy.
Ara knocks on the doorframe. "Is this a bad time?"
The kids beam at her, they're the only ones in camp who don't salute her because they keep forgetting they're supposed to. When Drew is around, they can't show how much they like her, though. One of her brothers hugs her and complains, wishing she were still around. Ara hasn't slept in this cabin since the war ended.
"I wanted to give you a proper welcome, knowing Drew would give you the lousiest," she jokes once her siblings go away. "How're you holding up?"
"Are you really an Aphrodite?" Piper questions right away. Ara's not very Aphrodite-looking at the moment, with her scowling and the cold-blooded way she talks. That, without mentioning the worn-out clothes and dirty shoes.
"This place didn't always look like this," she leans against the bunk bed. "The old counselor was a neat freak, but she didn't like things to look so... dolly."
Piper gives her a longing smile. "I have the feeling you're the only one who can control Drew, it's a bummer you moved out."
Ara raises a brow. "Drew's charmspeak did a number on me too. I have Mom's blessing now, that's all, but it's not my place to stop her," her eyes go back to Lacy and the pile of clothes. "Is that for her?"
Lacy smiles big, she turns to Piper. "You can change clothes. The blessing won't stop you. This is just, you know, a backpack, some rations, ambrosia and nectar for emergencies, some jeans, a few extra shirts, and a warm jacket. The boots might be a little snug. But—well—we took up a collection. Good luck on your quest!"
Lacy drops everything on the bed and tries to leave, but Piper stops her. "Hold on. At least let me thank you! Why are you rushing off? "
The girl blushes. "Oh, well..."
"Drew might find out," Mitchell explains.
"I might have to wear the shoes of shame!" Lacy gulps.
"The what?"
Lacy and Mitchell point to a pair of orthopedic nurse's shoes at the back of the room, Ara doesn't think they're awful, but she's always been about comfort. Her siblings, however... "I had to wear them for a week once," Lacy cries. "They don't go with anything!"
"And there're worse punishments," Mitchell continues like it's a horror story. "Drew can charmspeak, see? Not many Aphrodite kids have that power; but if she tries hard enough, she can get you to do some pretty embarrassing things. Piper, you're the first person beside Ara that is able to resist her."
"That's because she has it too," Ara says casually.
"Charmspeak ..." Piper raises a brow. "You mean, like, you could talk someone into doing things. Or... giving you things. Like a car?"
"Oh, don't give Drew any ideas!" Lacy's eyes widen in horror.
"But yeah, she could do that," Mitchell says miserably.
"So that's why she's head counselor," Piper guesses. "She convinced you all?"
Mitchell glances at Ara. "She inherited the post when Silena Beauregard died in the war. It was Ara's right to get it, but she's no longer an Aphrodite. Drew was next in line. The oldest camper automatically gets the post, unless somebody with more years or more completed quests wants to challenge, in which case there's a duel, but that hardly ever happens. Anyway, we've been stuck with Drew in charge since August. She decided to make some, ah, changes in the way the cabin is run."
"Yes, I did!" Drew shows up suddenly. "I think you missed some trash, sweetie. You'd better make another pass."
Piper and Ara look toward the bathroom, a trashcan was turned over and all of the gross contents are on the floor. Mitchell flushes with anger. "Fine."
The boy tries to walk but Ara stops him. "You're not doing that."
Drew's face flushes. "This is not your cabin anymore!"
"He's part of my army, just like you are. If I tell you to pick up the trash, you do it. Any problem with that?"
The girl looks like she wants to murder Ara, but she smiles in the end. "Of course not!" Drew looks at their newest sister. "See, Piper, hon, we're a good cabin here nowadays. A good family! Silena Beauregard, though... you could take a warning from her. She was secretly passing information to Kronos in the Titan War, helping the enemy."
"Shut up!" Ara steps forward to choke her, but Mitchell gets in the way.
"Oh, none of the other cabins talk about it," Drew continues, checking her nails. "They act like Silena Beauregard was a hero."
"She sacrificed her life to make things right," Mitchell huffs, struggling to keep Ara away. "She was a hero."
"Mmm-hmm," Drew looks up. "Another day on garbage patrol, Mitchell. But anyways, Silena lost track of what this cabin is about. We match up cute couples at camp! Then we break them apart and start over! It's the best fun ever. We don't have any business getting involved in other stuff like wars and quests. I certainly haven't been on any quests. They're a waste of time! If Mom gives birth to a couple of mistakes... Probably the fault of the mortals she mingled with..."
Three boys are now keeping Ara from massacring Drew. Lacy speaks quietly. "But last night you said you wanted to go on a—"
"Most of all," Drew raises her voice, "we certainly don't need our image tarnished by spies, do we, Piper? We're disgraced enough thanks to Ara, you don't want to be like her and dear of Silena."
Ara knows she shouldn't listen, that she's above it, but she does not feel above it. When she taunts her, Ara turns into the thirteen-year-old she was when Drew decided to start bullying her.
"...if you survive your little quest, don't worry, I'll find somebody to match up with you. Maybe one of those gross Hephaestus guys," the boys start to drag Ara out of the cabin. "Or Clovis? He's pretty repulsive. Honestly, I didn't think it was possible for Aphrodite to have an ugly child, but... who was your father? Was he some sort of mutant, or—"
"Tristan McLean," Piper snaps. The boys let go of Ara so abruptly that she falls, almost landing on her face. "My dad's Tristan McLean."
"Oh my god!" Several campers gasp. Ara sits up confused by the change in the room, she has no idea who that guy is. "Sweet! The dude with the sword who killed that other dude in that movie?" One of her brothers asks.
"He is so hot for an old guy," one of her sisters adds. "I mean I'm sorry. I know he's your dad. That's so weird!"
"It's weird, all right," Piper looks totally uncomfortable.
"Do you think you could get me his autograph?"
"Yeah, no problem," she smiles tensely.
"Have you had your rite of passage?"
"Rite of what?"
"The rite of passage for an Aphrodite child. You get someone to fall in love with you. Then you break their heart. Dump them. Once you do that, you've proven yourself worthy of Aphrodite."
"Break someone's heart on purpose? That's terrible!"
"Silena wasn't a fan of it either..." Ara gets up and dusts off her clothes.
"Silena wasn't a good role model, though, was she?" Drew asks.
Ara tries to seize her, but her siblings get in the way once more.
"Oh my god!" A girl squeals. "I bet Aphrodite broke your dad's heart! I bet he never loved anyone again, did he? That's so romantic! When you have your rite of passage, you can be just like Mom!"
"That's bullshit!" Ara shouts from the back.
"Forget it! I'm not breaking somebody's heart just for a stupid rite of passage!"
"Well, there you go!" Drews says in delight. "Silena and Ara said the same thing! They broke the tradition—Silena fell in love with that Beckendorf boy and stayed in love. Ara rejects love and that's why things have gone so horribly!"
"That's not true!" Lacy squeaks, but one harsh look from Drew is enough to silence her.
"You know nothing about me!" Ara says in anger.
"Hardly matters," Drew insists. "Because, Piper, hon, you couldn't break anyone's heart anyway. And this nonsense about your dad being Tristan McLean—that's so begging for attention."
"You mean he's not her dad?" A confused kid asks.
"Please," Drew rolls her eyes. "Now, it's time for breakfast, people, and Piper here has to start that little quest. So let's get her packed and get her out of here! Is that okay, Strategus?"
Fighting would get Ara punished for longer than the bruises or shame would stay on Drew's body. "You're dismissed," she says, her voice harsh but defeated.
She glances at Piper as if apologizing and moves her brothers away from her so she can walk out with a bit of dignity. As she turns around, Ara hastily dries her tears.
She would give anything to talk to Percy right now.
"What are you daydreaming about?"
Now, while looking at the fireworks, I have the feeling I'm looking in the right direction. "Tomorrow's my birthday."
"Really?" Percy frowns. "Why didn't you tell me?"
I shrug. "I'm telling you now. Silena always makes sure I have a fun day, and so does Annabeth... Clarisse remembers too. Anyway, that's not why I'm telling you." Percy stares at me waiting. I like that he listens, even when I have nothing worth saying. "I never ask for things, but I think this year I'll ask."
Percy grins. "Gee, I wonder..."
"I want to work in the forges."
"Mhm... are you sure that's a good idea?"
"Percy!"
"I have reasons!" He disputes. "You break more than you fix!"
"I could fix if I knew how!" I respond. "I could make me a sword, traps, and then on our next quest—"
"Won't be another one," Percy replies in alarm.
"If there is one," I correct myself. "I don't want to stand behind you while you risk your lives. I have to learn... and you said it before, how can I be good at something if I don't practice?"
Before, I was content watching others do the hard work. I still am, but I've never tried the forges. Who knows? Maybe I'll be good at it if I practice hard enough.
"Alright," Percy sighs in defeat. "You wanna do it, then do it. If it turns out you're good at it, you'll make me a cool armor, right?"
"I'll make it bright blue," I smirk.
"Now we're talking!" He smiles and ruffles my hair.

idk why but in the prandy P3 daughters au i feel like piper would have a girl first and then her boys (maybe twin boys? i'm just bullshitting here tbh)
Okay, so, I can genuinely guarantee that this over three thousand word outline is not what you intended when you sent this, but I got this and another ask about the prandy girls AU and decided that I needed to sketch this out to at least have an idea of what happens and who else are around the prandy girls and it... spiraled. I did put this under a read more because, like I said, over three thousand words. But to actually answer your question, and I guess spoilers for the outline ahead, Piper actually ends up with two girls: Proserpina "Prose" Patricia Halliwell and Petra Penelope Halliwell. (Abi, you may say with dismay, there's no way that Piper would name her daughter Proserpina and you're not wrong! Special circumstances apply for why she did, and I actually did initially begin to dive into the next gen girls' powers and personalities here as well before realizing it was way too long already, but that information is available if anyone cares lmao.)
I also had to break this up more because Tumblr yelled at me, so we have different headings.
The Beginning
I think that the first two seasons would still primarily shake out the same, besides Andy's death, since season two is still pretty episodic
instead of that unnamed Cupid in "Heartbreak City," however, it's Coop, who kind of just gently bullies Phoebe into admitting that she's afraid of love and of losing people. (we're gonna set the stage early here.)
Additionally, Prue and Andy are still not fully together yet (bc they had been, y'know, broken up when he died) so Coop reveals to Phoebe that he's there to help them but doesn't tell anyone else yet.
Anyways, Prue and Andy end up hooking up at one point and accidentally ends up pregnant around three quarters of the way through season two but we end season two with them finally committing to one another and Perri is born about halfway through season three
During season three, however, we first see the sisters go head-to-head with the Source. They try to vanquish him, and Prue goes down hard. The Power of Three doesn't work and they're about to die when they're suddenly beamed out, revealed to be Phoebe wishing she could've confessed her love to Coop before they died. (Look, we're doing very broad strokes here rn.)
The sisters are confused because that was the strongest spell and potion that they got, and Leo goes to talk to the Elders and says that there's something blocking the sisters from their full potential and Phoebe is like "okay, what does that mean" and Leo has no idea so that takes up the back half of season three as they try to discover what's blocking them.
Meanwhile, Prue, a new mother, is having this breakdown about how she nearly orphaned her daughter and lashes out and has her plot about dealing with all of this with Andy.
Anyways, at the end of season three, we finally figure out what's limiting their powers and spoiler alert:
it's because there's supposed to be a fourth sister with them: Paige
but the Source discovers this before the sisters do and attacks once again, and this time, they're slightly more prepared but something happens and Piper is (seemingly) killed while the Source is seriously weakened so he retreats.
The Power of Four
In reality, Piper has actually ended up between planes, alive in the place you're meant to go before you die. Also, as we later find out when Leo is tearfully confiding to probably Coop, she's pregnant as well. (This will be relevant to our Pleo kid.) The rest quickly figure out, however, that wherever Piper is, she's not in the Beyond like their mother or grandmother.
But anyways, Prue is furious and going after every demon like a madwoman and casting any and every spell to locate a sister. Phoebe, meanwhile, graduated at some point during season three and is adrift and unsure what to do. She starts working with social services to help people down on their luck, where she begins running into a chaotic young Berkley grad named Paige.
Meanwhile, Piper is trying to figure out a way home and starts casting her own spells to contact her sisters. She ends up in Paige's dreams, who at first dismisses it as just being lonely and wanting family as the anniversary of her parent's death approaches and being alone for it for the first time (as Glen is unable to get back to the States in time).
Paige is a bit creeped out when she first sees a picture of Piper and sees that she's identical to the woman in her dreams but continues to dismiss it as her wishing she had a sister like Phoebe.
Anyways, something happens and Prue and Phoebe realize that Paige is their sister and Paige realizes that she's a witch. (For this, they initially believe that she's a telepath since she's able to mentally connect with Piper through planes and displays this mental connection with all of the sisters, but it's later revealed to be a product of their collective power. Her actual primary power is photokinesis, the ability to create and manipulate light.)
There's some growing pains at first, but Prue, Phoebe, and Paige manage to connect with one another and discover a way to save Piper, which is something like at the height of All Hallow's Eve or whatever.
Anyway, they save Piper and the Power of Four is established.
Either during or soon after, Piper gives birth to her and Leo's daughter: Proserpina "Prose" Patricia Halliwell, named after the mysterious woman on the plane who helped Piper and likely gave her something to help her keep the pregnancy (a life growing where one is not meant to exist)(look, I wasn't intentionally trying to sketch out stuff here, we're just going with vibes now.
Prue is also pregnant again about halfway through the "getting Piper back" arc and, if Piper gives birth end of season four, Prue gives birth to Presley about half a season afterwards.
Now, back to the sisters. Let's say that Phoebe finally confesses to Coop and they deal with their feelings and are going strong. But the Source has been working to regain his strength, and so, we get some kind of enemy sent the sister's way. With the reveal of Paige's existence and Piper giving birth, the Source decides to try to divide the sisters to weaken them by targeting the most obvious weak link: Paige.
We Still Have a Demon Romance
With Piper's return, Paige feels unnecessary, like she was a placeholder only meant to hold the second sister's place until she came back. And it isn't helped by the fact that Piper came back and had a baby, Prue is now pregnant/close to having another baby, and Phoebe is dancing around Coop who may or may not have tried to set her up with someone else.
And Paige isn't impressive to the magical community, not like the original Charmed Ones and she doesn't know what she's doing yet, not really, so it doesn't go well. But there's someone who seems to like her and look up to her and they're a fellow witch (except they're actually a demon) and he gets her and understands her.
So instead of Phoebe, Paige gets a demon romance, except she doesn't know of course. And she learns more about magic and how to use it differently than anything her sisters had taught her and a lot of it is on the up-and-up for the most part but some of it just tilts Paige a bit of a different direction.
The saving grace is that Paige is also given a charge during this time, so her Whitelighter side is tugging at her consistently so her demon lover can't pull her too far, even if Paige doesn't know yet why some things he shows her she is instinctually repelled from. And through her Whitelighter side, she gets a charge, who also happens to have an infuriating parole officer named Henry.
They butt heads a lot but both care a lot about their charge, so slowly and reluctantly become friends against their will. But Paige's demon boyfriend is getting impatient at the lack of progress, especially because the Source is starting to get vexed and regaining his strength, so he kicks it up a notch by starting to steadily bewitch Paige, a la Phoebe in s4.
In the interest of having a backup, the Source also sends a demon to befriend the sisters, especially in an attempt to target the kids and Prue's pregnancy. (After all, what better way to destroy the sisters than from the inside?)
And it takes a minute, because everything has been so hectic with everything going on for the sisters (Piper going missing and then giving birth, Prue getting pregnant again, finding Paige, etc.) that they've kinda just been lingering with this chill atmosphere for once, but start to realize something is wrong with Paige.
Andy is the one to investigate and find out that something is off about the demon boyfriend, like how he did with Rex and Hannah in s1. An oracle or seer (depending on who we wanna add in here) warns the demon that his cover is blown before Andy can get to Prue, and he knows he's no match for the Charmed Ones, so he decides to try to forcibly turn Paige, and potentially the sisters, in one fell swoop through a Dark Wedding (like Zile marrying Prue in the canon s3.) To distract the sisters, he infects the sisters, Andy, Leo, and Coop with sin balls.
This has a two-fold purpose: one, I love Sin Francisco, so shoutout! Two, Phoebe gets infected with lust and Coop with envy. Coop is envious of the men that he's tried setting Phoebe up with, and Phoebe is. lusting after Coop, so. Under the influence of the sins, they have sex! (I'm sure you can see why this will be very important later on.)
Anyways, Henry, who the demon boyfriend (who I probably should've given a name tbh) had deemed unimportant, figures out that something is wrong with Paige and tries to go to the sisters to ask about her, only to be like what the fuck.
He ends up somehow helping them realize something is wrong blah blah and they all break their individual sin/remove their sin in the case of Prue.
Meanwhile, Paige and the demon boyfriend are seemingly about to get married but Paige just looks around dazed and asks softly where are my sisters? and he gives her some bullshit about how he's the only one that cares about her or whatever and then is blasted halfway across the room by a very furious Piper going get away from my sister!
(Imagine this as being the turning point between Piper and Paige's relationship since they'd been so iffy around each other because they had no idea who the other was and thought that the other was intended to be their replacement or whatever.)
Her sisters rush to her side and Phoebe hands her a potion and gently asks her to take it, sweetie, and Paige trusts her so she does and all of the demon's tricks fail when his enchanting is abruptly wiped from her sister. Paige hesitates only for a minute before joining her sisters in the vanquishing spell.
Also Henry finds out about magic from this and has to sit down.
And this has probably been going on for the about three quarters of the season and uhhh, Prue goes into labor at the end of all this and hi ya, Presley!
And they hustle her off to the hospital and- Oh my God, Prue is cradling Presley in her arms with Andy beaming next to her and they need a middle name and everyone's making suggestions and Prue kind of just looks up at Paige, who we'll say have bonded over Paige's love of art and Prue's experience with antiquities and art knowledge, and says Artemisia after Artemisia Gentileschi and Paige points out that's a big name for a girl to handle and if Prue's sure if she handle it and they're not really talking about the name at all but Prue says that she knows she'll be able to handle anything because she's so strong and brave and will always have her sisters.
And Paige beams and Piper and Leo are standing together and Phoebe goes and leans her head on Paige's shoulder in one of those cute sisterly moments and gets a premonition of, oh, about nineish months?
Congratulations, Paige, it's a demon-witch-Whitelighter hybrid!
(Phoebe does not tell them in that moment but definitely brings it up later.)
I Feel Like Everyone is Just Having a Kid RN Here
Anyways, we get a break from all the heavy plot stuff for a minute because Phoebe and Coop are. Not talking about what happened between them and Paige and Henry are being a little weird with each other and Prue is having a crisis with Andy about what if she goes and dies on her kids like her mom and Piper isn't sure if she and Leo will be able to have another kid after her experiences on the plane between life and death, and that's all just the romance and family side of things.
On the professional side of things, Prue is struggling with the desire to stay at 415 Magazine or move to the Bay Mirror to be able to be there on the streets seeing what's going on versus the glossy photoshoots that she's been doing. Piper, after quitting Quake, had basically been working as a caterer without the money to actually buy a physical location for her building but is taking the plunge on the restaurant. Phoebe has been working at social services with Paige but isn't sure what she actually wants to do. After an episode where something forced Phoebe into helping Prue at the Bay Mirror, she begins doing some editing work there, eventually taking on a column role. Paige meanwhile finally becomes a social worker.
But anyways, Paige is struggling with what happened, her deteriorating friendship with Henry, and her impending motherhood. She finally explodes on Henry calling him out for slowly drifting away and revealing how terrified she is of becoming a mother. The two reconcile when Henry tells her that, regardless of magic, he knows that she'll be a great mother because of the way that she cares for her charges and her work and promises to be there for her. There's also plenty of bonding with Prue during this time because Paige (and Henry) definitely have a plot about babysitting little Perri and Presley for "practice."
Meanwhile, Phoebe realizes about halfway through the season that she's pregnant and she and Coop finally have to sit down and talk about it. They confess their feelings but are concerned about the forbidden romance aspect of it. Despite that, with Phoebe being spectacularly less burned this time, they decide to try and pursue it anyways.
About halfway through season six, Paige goes into labor about the same time that a demon is attempting to devour ghosts' powers or something so we get an episode featuring Melinda Warren because Paige deserves to meet her too and Henry gets some magical shenanigans. Also some nice moments with Melinda commiserating with Paige about being tricked and how she, and her baby, are still Warrens. But anyways, Paige delivers not one little demon-witch-Whitelighter baby but two! (No one expected this. Phoebe's premonition helpfully left out Henry cradling the other baby.) Either way, we now have Lillith Prudence Matthews and Morgan Melinda Matthews!
Remember how I mentioned that the Source had a backup plan to befriend the sisters? Yeah, she's still here, slowly worming her way into their lives. Due to the twins' half-demon natures, she begins often volunteering to be a babysitter with the goal eventually being to turn them completely. None of the sisters expect anything as demonic activity begins ticking upward again and she becomes closer to their kids. It's her that lets it slip that Phoebe and Coop are in a forbidden romance soon before Phoebe's meant to give birth, and the Elders recall him to the Heavens in punishment.
Phoebe gives birth soon afterwards to Philomena "Mena" Cordelia Halliwell, naming her daughter after love and heart.
She challenges the Elders for him back, and with her sisters behind her, they falter enough that she's able to press them enough that they give her an option. She came to them on the claim of true love, and so it's that claim they'll make her prove herself on. If Phoebe is truly in love with Coop, she just has to find him. They'll send him back, no memories and in-disguise, but will guarantee that they'll be in a position to meet once more and interact. If she kisses him, it'll return his memories and they'll be free to be together. However, to prevent her from just kissing every guy she finds to try to find Coop, she has only once chance, and her next kiss will be the only chance she gets. (I did decide to add in a fairytale ass plot bc I can, thanks.) Phoebe accepts, and her romantic plot for the rest of the season and the beginning of the next is on finding Coop.
Meanwhile, the demon friend decides that if she's going to poison the Warren line of witches, why stop at only a set of twins when there could be a death-touched witch and the first ever Cupid-witch hybrid at her command? (She looks at Perri and Presley, fully witches born with no complications, and dismisses them. She is the first demon that will do this but will not be the last. Like her, others will learn that this is a mistake.) Knowing vaguely of the potion Piper took to be able to keep the pregnancy, the demon creates a fertility potion to give her to see if she'll be able to utilize another child's powers to even greater strengths. She gives it to Piper in the season six finale.
The Final Battle
During this time, the sisters begin to prepare for the final battle against the Source. Their last major battle at this was at the end of season three, and we're now at the beginning of season seven. The Source has fully recovered from their battle, and the sisters themselves are at full power with Piper recovered and Paige at their side.
Piper finds out she's pregnant again a few episodes into the season.
Phoebe finds Coop at the midseason finale, which is also when the demon friend is revealed to be a demon when she makes a move for the kids. Someone gets stabbed (idk who. Andy? Henry?) stopping her but is narrowly saved and the sisters vanquish her.
Phoebe and Coop get married around midseason as well, while Paige and Henry discuss if they want to take that step soon.
The sisters take on and vanquish the Source in the season finale once and for all, which is where I think the big storylines stop.
Shortly after the finale, Piper gives birth to Petra Penelope Halliwell. Phoebe and Coop may or may not have a second kid? Still undecided on that one. Paige and Henry move in together in the flashforward in the series finale and marry a year or two later. Andy and Prue have Pamela as the last next gen kid.
#charmed#asks#non canon next gen#idk if i even wanna tag the prandy girls in this bc this really is just a whole ass outline of what happens for seven seasons#and they're like babies for all of it#charmed aus#i guess i should give this au a name at this point?#i'm gonna go with where it started#prandy kids au#this was so much more of a deepdive than i intended fuck#i really hope that someone actually is interested in this bc like i said earlier. two weeks working on this.#i just love next gen man

an entry in the tim&steph role swap au
"Bullock," Jim said, just pointedly enough to drag his detective's attention away from the shitty breakroom coffee he'd just spilt on his eternally hideous tie. They'd paused in the bullpen on their way out of a conference room, where they'd been discussing the kind of case that made Jim feel ever closer to retirement.
God, he missed Montoya. She'd have had something incredibly crass to say that would at least have made him want to laugh, even if he wouldn't. He couldn't say she hadn't seemed to be happier with whatever it was she was up to these days (he, very purposefully, did not know what that was), last time she'd caught him for a drink, but he still missed her on the force.
Harvey grunted, glancing up as he snapped his fingers at a nearby officer and made a hand gesture that could easily have meant something rude rather than "go get me some paper towels." Luckily, Marquess caught his drift, and with a roll of her eyes she set aside her pen and rose from her desk. "What?"
"Who is that." Jim tipped his chin across the bullpen, sipping from his own terrible paper cup of breakroom coffee.
Harvey looked over. Squinted. "Berkowitz, I think," he said, and then caught Jim's unamused glower out of the corner of his eye. He squinted again--this time not focusing on Officer Piper Berkowitz, who Jim knew at least by sight because Jim made it a point to know all of his officers (and also because she was taller than every other person in the bullpen), but on the maybe-teen with the big camera and the piercing eyes who was inducing that look of begrudgingly amused annoyance on her face. She had her arms crossed over her chest and her hip propped against her desk; closed body language, unwilling to be convinced by whatever had her conversational partner gesturing so passionately, yet where he looked combative, there was an answering tick of a smile on her lips.
Even as Jim watched, his officer unfolded her arms, sighing, and there was a flash of smug victory in the kid's eyes.
Harvey grunted again. "Some kinda PI. He's popped up a few times recently. For one, he was at that club Supergirl and Wonder Girl busted up, few months back."
It was Jim's turn to grunt. What a headache. It made him appreciate the Batman all the more whenever he had to deal with the young adult super powered set. Even if most of the Bat's brood weren't metas, he had no idea how the man handled that many teens and twenties vigilantes at once.
He sipped more of his coffee. Watched the PI lean on the back of Berkowitz's chair as she pulled up what looked like a license plate search on her computer. "Why's he here and what's he want with Berkowitz?"
"What do they ever want?" Harvey asked dryly. "Information he's supposed to be asking for through official channels, I'd assume."
Sure. But why Berkowitz? was the more important part of the question. She was a beat cop with no particular pull in the department; he only even knew her name because he made it a point to know all their names. He hadn't thought she was crooked, or easily bribed or cajoled--no more than anyone else, anyway--nor especially brilliant at her job. He'd know more than just her name, if she stood out from the crowd, either positively or negatively.
Marquess returned from the bathroom, one hand full of paper towels which she shoved into Harvey's chest. "You're welcome," she said, pointedly, and Harvey scowled at her.
"Keep an eye on it," Jim said.
"Sure," Harvey grunted. He was already more focused on blotting coffee off of his tie.
Jim sighed.
***
The PI--the junior PI, he learned--wasn't any kind of priority for Jim. There were a couple dozen private investigators floating around the city, most of them attached to three or four larger detective agencies, most of them getting their work from law firms and bond agencies. The kid's age and his attitude made him an oddity, but--
Jim was a busy man, with a horrible, thankless job. Oddities were just--
Oddities.
Harvey brought him tidbits occasionally, when he bothered to remember that Jim had asked him to be paying attention. Tim Drake had recently turned 21; he worked for Red Bird Investigations; he owned controlling shares in Drake Industries, a company formed and previously run by his now-dead parents, but he had as little as possible to do with the business; one week, he brought in enough evidence to close the case on a string of robberies that had stretched across the East End, after a young woman grew frustrated with the GCPD's progress and hired him on; the next, he broke the nose of one of Jim's officers after getting in between him and one of Gotham's many sex workers. (The incident was under investigation; no charges were being pressed until it was determined whether the officer had in fact attempted to sexually extort the young man as was alleged.)
Most of Jim's rank and file officers seemed to dislike the kid, and the feeling was clearly mutual. Harvey said it was because Drake made himself easy to dislike, but Jim knew it was deeper than that. He was fighting a constant, losing war with his own people to remind them that they were not above the law; that they were public servants; that just because the man or woman beside you wore the same badge as you did, didn't mean you automatically trusted their word above that of the civilian on the other end of their gun. He just could never seem to convince them not to blindly close ranks around each other--even the clean ones seemed to think camaraderie trumped the need for objective detective work.
Tim Drake afforded Jim's officers none of the respect that they believed they deserved for wearing their badges, and that was what they disliked. Berkowitz, Jim assumed, was one of the few officers with her head on straight enough to recognize the kid could be a useful source of information, if an annoying one.
Jim told Harvey to shut it down, next time he heard anyone talking shit about any private investigators, but he knew even as he said it that he was wasting his breath.
***
"Piper."
It wasn't a shout, but the sheer command behind the name had every head in the bullpen whipping towards the door, including Jim's--
He saw disheveled black hair and wide, pale eyes, a swollen nose and heavy bruising blooming across a tense jawline, and then Officer Miles Franklin threw up his arm and stepped in between Tim Drake and the rest of the bullpen. Berkowitz was pushing her way out of the breakroom, but even her lofty height and broad shoulders had a hard time parting the sea of gawking policemen.
"What are you doing in here, Drake?" Franklin demanded. "This isn't open to the public--"
"Out of my way, pig," Drake snarled, actually snarled, and brushed his arm out of the way. "I need to talk to--"
"The fuck did you just call me?!"
Jim had been halfway out the door into the stairwell on the opposite side of the room when Drake burst into the bullpen, but he still found himself shouting and his feet moving the moment Franklin grabbed the front of the kid's shirt, knowing Drake was about to get shoved bodily into the wall--
Drake moved, faster than anyone Jim had seen without a mask over their eyes, and Franklin was the one plastered against the wall as Drake twisted his arm up behind his back.
Half the room was yelling, but Drake's voice carried. "I don't have time to play games with you when there are kids in danger, you self-aggrandizing scum of the earth goddamn poli--"
Berkowitz yanked Drake backwards by the collar of his tshirt. His feet actually briefly left the ground. "What kids, Tim?" she demanded. Steady; calm; a distinct counterpoint to Drake's trembling fury.
"Fuck," he cursed, with feeling, and even before his toes touched back down he was fumbling in his messenger bag for that same massive camera Jim had seen him carrying the last time he was in the precinct. "Piper, I found Carrie Prentiss--"
"The runaway?" Franklin asked scathingly, as he yanked his uniform shirt back into place.
Drake and Berkowitz ignored him, though she shifted between the two of them to break his line of sight on the PI. "It's a fucking trafficking ring, at least ten kids involved, and I think they're moving them tonight. I've got--"
He barely had to shove the camera into her hands before she was already flipping through the pictures in the gallery, her own jaw tightening.
When she noticed a presence leaning over her shoulder, she whipped her head around, something nasty on her lips--but it died when she realized it was Jim. Neither of them had noticed him telling the rest of the room to shut the fuck up and stand down.
"Where is this?" he asked Drake, gruffly, as he took the camera out of Berkowitz's hands; Drake rattled off an address down near the docks, his hands flexing at his sides and nearly vibrating in his boots. Had to have taken him thirty minutes just to get here. "You couldn't just call 911?"
"And have them send a marked cruiser to check my story? Make them move those kids immediately?" A trickle of blood had begun to leak slowly down his upper lip, and he swiped it away with his shirtsleeve, adding sardonically, "I also may have stumbled into some of Falcones' boys in my haste to put enough distance between me and their people to safely make a call to Berkowitz. I was three-quarters of the way here before I shook them."
"Your fucking luck," Berkowitz said flatly. "That's got to be the third time this month you've 'stumbled' into some kind of enforcement bullshit."
"It's a talent. Comissioner, please--"
Jim had seen enough. License plates; faces; identifying marks. Zip ties on wrists too small for handcuffs. "I need SWAT on the phone yesterday," he snapped. "Simmons--"
***
It was a long night.
Most of them were long nights, but this was--
It was a long night.
"Thank you," he said, gruffly, and resisted the urge to give Berkowitz a side eye. She was a full head taller than him; he wouldn't get much out of it.
Berkowitz was the one to bring him coffee, looking tired and faintly apologetic, as he observed Drake's after-the-fact questioning. Jim suspected he wasn't the only one on an adrenaline crash; despite his typical standoffish and abrasive demeanor, the kid had turned over his SD card readily, additionally offered up the case notes he also had shoved into that messenger bag, and was at least neutral, though not quite polite, as he walked Simmons through the work that was going to result in fourteen reunited families, by the time they finished tracking the rest of the kids' parents down.
(Carrie Prentiss's mother was out in the bullpen, holding her daughter tightly and sobbing, comfortable in the knowledge that her decision to hire a private investigator had saved over a dozen lives.)
She just sighed, staring through the mirror at Drake. "He been behaving himself this whole time?"
"More or less."
"Minor miracles."
Jim snorted. He sipped the coffee. "How'd you end up in the middle of this?" he asked, keeping his tone neutral. "Not exactly your beat."
"No, not my beat at all," Berkowitz agreed, and there was something in her tone that had Jim turning, his eyebrows rising. She scrubbed a hand over her face. Left it pressed against her cheek as she watched Drake through the mirror.
"Four years ago," she said quietly, "I'd had my badge just long enough to think I knew a little bit about what I was doing, when me and my partner of the time got dispatched to the aftermath of a home invasion. The paramedics were already there, and it was--well. There've been way nastier murders in Gotham, but not ones I've personally been on the scenes of. The guy's sixteen-year-old son had got home right after the perps left, tried to do CPR; he was covered in blood, had been going so long he'd broken some of his dad's ribs, was refusing to let the paramedics pull him away. Turned out I actually had absolutely no goddamn clue what I was doing, that had become clear the second I stepped into that house, but someone had to get that kid out of there. So I picked him up under the armpits and carried him right out the door." She held her arms out straight, demonstratively. "Kid cursed up a blue streak, fought like a demon, and I just held him there on the front lawn, let him go at it until all the fight just... left him."
Berkowitz breathed in slowly through her nose, letting her arms fall. "When the tabloids came knocking, wanting the scoop on the most violent murder in Bristol since the eighties, straight from the lips of the first responders who had pulled Jack Drake's son off of his lifeless body, I was the only one who told them to go to hell. Guess Tim appreciated that. There are a few other officers he's willing to work with when he has to, but I'm the only one he ever seeks out willingly. He's a perceptive little brat, probably knows I have a hard time holding his attitude against him when I know where it comes from. When I don't always disagree with him."
Jim, as deliberately obtuse as he ever was, definitely did not think about a coat draped over a young boy's shoulders or a black cape that may have one day replaced--
He didn't think about it. "This goddamn city," he said, instead, and Berkowitz snorted.
"Every day I wake up and I think, 'This is it. The day I finally fucking quit.' But I never do it." She scrubbed a hand over her face. "Sometimes I think Tim's probably right, when he gets frustrated with me for acting too much the cop and starts getting nasty about my life choices. I don't know if we can really change things from the inside. But what the hell else am I supposed to do?"
It wasn't like Jim had never asked himself the same question.
"The best you can," he told her gruffly, and drained the rest of the coffee she'd brought him.
***
Jim had added new data points to his list about Tim Drake:
The kid was, objectively, a genius. He was also, objectively, an asshole, and a trouble magnet, and suffering from a terminally self-important case of "being twenty-one years old." It all formed a picture of a brilliant, traumatized teenager who was growing up into an ewually brilliant adult with a massive chip on his shoulder, but Jim didn't--
There were still questions.
Where the hell the kid's boss ever was, for one. It had been a minute since Jim had brushed up on the State of New Jersey's training requirements for private investigators, but he was pretty sure Drake shouldn't have had as much free rein as he did. Why even a traumatized millionaire's son would turn to private investigating instead of running the company he wanted nothing to do with and nonetheless refused to let go of. How he got half the information he turned up with, because even a genius didn't have encyclopedic knowledge of Gotham's crime families because he "liked to keep his ear to the ground," as Berkowitz reported, making scare quotes and rolling her eyes.
The oddity was becoming a genuine concern, low in Jim's gut. Drake only seemed to be blunt and standoffish; Jim became more certain, every few and far between time that he watched the PI move around his precinct, that Tim Drake was a man who played his cards close to his chest; who never gave up more than he got back; who was pulling strings to get what he wanted even when it wasn't clear what that was.
It was time for a second set of eyes.
***
Jim wasn't surprised that Drake figured out what was happening before they made it to the roof of the GCPD. Those sharp, pale eyes of his didn't miss much; they certainly didn't miss the ROOF ACCESS sign or the keycard Jim swiped to open the door.
"Gee," Drake drawled, massive coffee cup in one hand and the other tucked nonchalantly into his pocket. "I don't think I'm supposed to be up here, Commish."
Jim had been amused to realize, the first time he had an actual talk with the kid, that Drake was utterly torn between his instinctive dislike of police officers and his begrudging personal respect for Commissioner Gordon, and he tended to compromise by alternately being sarcastic or quiet, rather than boldly rude and antagonistic like he was with most of the department.
An expression twisted across Drake's face, there and gone before Jim could identify it.
"Special circumstances," Jim said gruffly. He didn't even have to look to find the switch for the Bat Signal; his fingers found it on autopilot. He'd summoned the Bat on accident more than once when he'd come up here to smoke and didn't notice himself going through the motions. "You've helped us close a few big cases recently, and I like to make sure all my resources are familiar with one another."
"Makes sense," he said, with another unidentifiable note in his voice. Amusement, maybe. Not that that made sense.
The Bat wasn't going to take long to show up--Jim had given him something of a heads up in advance--and so Jim was particularly on alert as he lit his cigarette. He didn't go so far as to peer directly into the shadows, but he kept his attention on his lighter and searched his periphery. He felt the shift in the air when he arrived, but wasn't sure yet where he'd landed. Was that corner there darker than normal?
"Batman," Drake greeted calmly, turning his chin to gaze at a different shadowy corner, and Jim felt his eyebrows raise as Gotham's Dark Knight stepped slowly into... well, not into the light. But out of the worst of the gloom.
"Tim," Batman returned, as unflappable as ever.
Jim took a drag of his cigarette, fighting back the surprise that wanted to blossom across his own face.
"OH MY GOD!"
The excited shriek split the night, and Drake--who Jim had yet to see wearing any expression that wasn't some combination of stoic, smug, or pissed off--lit up like a Christmas tree. His coffee cup sailed towards the trashcan by the door (missed, barely) and he sprinted towards--
Jim took an involuntary step forward, a gasp strangling his voice, as Drake leapt off the roof.
He seemed to hang in the air for a moment, and then a second figure, blonde hair and a grapple line streaming behind her, slammed into him. Drake's arms flung around her neck, Batgirl's arms flung around his waist, and she spun him in a circle once her boots touched down on the rooftop, laughing delightedly. In a move too fluid to be improvised, their grips reversed as she was setting Drake down, and then he was spinning her around instead.
"Tim!" she cried, throwing her arms up as she leaned back into his grip. "What the hell are you doing here?!"
"When the hell did you get back from space?!" Drake demanded.
He tried to put her down, but Batgirl was suddenly clinging to him, octopus-like, with all four limbs. "God, check your messages. Literally, I had walked into the Cave when B was like, 'Oh, I've gotta go to the GCPD,' and I was like, 'Fuck yes, it's been forever since I got to hang with the Commish,' and stowed away in the Batmobile. Wonder Girl and Impulse say hi, by the way, and--"
Batman cleared his throat.
His expression, even through the cowl, even through the gloom, was long suffering. Jim--remembering the migraine he'd gotten from dealing with Supergirl and Wonder Girl--felt an uncommon surge of pity towards the man in the cape.
"Go find another roof for your meeting, B, we're busy," Batgirl told him sternly, but she did disentangle herself from Drake, leaving only one arm possessively curled around his shoulders.
"I take it you've all already met," Jim said, with nominal good humor and just enough bite to remind the Bat that their flow of information was meant to be a two-way street.
Batgirl's eyes got big behind the cowl, reflected in the way it pulled at her cheeks. "Ooh, is that what this was supposed to be?" she stage-whispered to Drake. "What'd you do, huh? Break another cop's nose?"
"Another?" Batman repeated.
"Don't worry about it," Drake said calmly. Batgirl cackled as Batman's expression grew further pained. "Officer Pickens has bigger things to worry about. Like the IA investigation." He paused, squinted at the Bat, and added, "Don't give me that look. Unlike all of your little minions--" he flinched as Batgirl pinched him in retaliation-- "your disappointment has literally no effect on me."
Batman, visibly, took a breath. "Honestly, Jim," he said, just a hint more exasperated than gravelly, "I was trying not to jinx you. You don't deserve to have to deal with this."
"What am I, Beetlejuice?" Drake asked dryly. "You say my name three times and I'm summoned from the ether?"
Batgirl pressed her nose to Drake's ear, whispering something that made his mouth curve up in a wicked smirk. He tilted his chin towards his shoulder, telling her quietly, but not quite quietly enough, "Robin and I bonded while you were gone. I think it's giving him a better idea of the kind of shit we used to pull, and he wishes he was still oblivious."
Used to pull, Jim thought. (Didn't think, not really, because he didn't want to know.) They'd clearly known each other a long time. He couldn't remember any male, black haired, teen vigilantes in Gotham when Batgirl had been Robin, which meant--
He wasn't thinking about it. He genuinely, deliberately, would not be looking for 5'8"-5'11" blondes in Tim Drake's personal life.
(Especially not ones who intersected with his own daughter's.)
Jim took a drag off his cigarette. Although...
"There was a kid," he said slowly, "who used to 'run messages' into the precinct on behalf of some anonymous tipster. Montoya always suspected he knew more than he was letting on. Kid had such a baby face, wonder if he's lost it now that he's an adult."
Neither Drake nor Batgirl reacted, in a way that was a reaction in and of itself.
"Sounds irresponsible on behalf of the tipster," Drake managed, keeping his face as straight as possible. "Getting a kid involved like that?"
Batgirl coughed.
"I'm gonna stop asking questions before the answers keep me up at night," Jim decided, stubbing his cigarette out on the side of the Bat Signal--there was a bare spot in the black paint, just there--and tossing it into the trashcan. It stuck on the coffee splattered against the lip, drawing attention to the cup on the ground next to it, and Drake looked faintly embarrassed.
Batgirl cocked her head to the side. "You could've almost looked cool if you'd actually made that."
"I hate you," Drake told her.
"You wish you hated me," Batgirl told him.
"I wish I'd never had children," Batman told Jim.
Batgirl brightened, even as she picked Drake up in a fireman's carry--he yelped, scrambling to hold on--and grabbed her grapple gun off of her belt. "Good thing I'm not your kid!" she said, cheerfully, and for the second time tonight someone jumped off of the GCPD roof.
Jim tucked his hands in his pockets, surveying the living gargoyle in front of him. He waited long enough he thought the kids were out of earshot, then waited some more until the Bat gave him a slight nod. Figured they'd tried to hang around to eavesdrop. "I take it that whatever ulterior motives I'm detecting in him, they're probably nothing to worry about."
"Hngh." Batman shifted, and his cape brushed gently against the concrete rooftop. "I recently found out she's been manually deleting him off of my World Domination Predictive Algorithm spreadsheets for years," he admitted. "There's a lot of uncertainty to those anyway, of course. And I... trust her judgement."
"You trust his?"
"Nominally." The barest hint of a smile. "As far as I can tell, he hasn't ever tried to take over the world."
Jim snorted. "Your opinion has been noted."
"Anything else you needed me for?"
Jim crossed one leg over the other, leaning back against the wall. "Word on the street is Black Mask has been making moves into Triad territory. Any ideas why."
"Mm. Three weeks ago..."

I have been unable to sleep and then I finally did pass out today I'm from lack of sleep and Woke up I was very anxious And nauseated and I don't know if the 2 are synonymous or if I'm sick I don't think I'm sick though unless I eat something bad. Anyway I feel awful right now like just mentally like not a harm to myself or others but just Pretty fucking mean brain time.
And I have been trying very hard to ignore that because it's very intrusive and I have absolutely no desire to go that direction that my brain is just slamming me with
So yeah I've just been an anxious mess with a stomach that's fucked up and I am crying like a baby and I don't even really know why like I was not in a bad mood I don't know if I just had a regular no trigger panic and anxiety attack but I did take my meds and I do feel calmer but I'm still weepy and I don't like this
So the neighbors that have been torturing me have let new neighbors know about me and my neighbor who went up to the front office and raised hell because they weren't listening to me and they needed someone else to go up there to prove it for some fucking dumb reason
I've gotten my security camera it won't be installed till the weekend unless I can find somebody to come out tomorrow evening
Since the people in apartment 60 are going to have the at least not renewed That means that I won't have to deal with them for a super long time or at least my neighbor won't
My parents have told me that I will be moving in September I don't know if I should believe them I am very exhausted from all these stupid events that don't even have to do with me but I was roped into and then unroped myself because hell no
Like I just I don't have the mental capacity and I don't feel good like I'm dealing with chronic pain and all sorts of other health issues right now and I don't fucking want to deal with someone who is not my child unless they reach out to me and ask for help because I cannot talk sense into my sister who is drunk or high most of the time and you and I both know that people in addiction have to choose to get better
And I am kind of sad for her but also very disgusted and pissed off at her for many reasons I'm not going to shame her for having any sort of addiction but I don't like that she has that issue right now and it worries me because her aunt her biological aunt died recently from alcoholism and a medical condition that caused her to die early from the drinking and Piper has not been tested for that genetic disorder or whatever So I am very concerned especially since she's 22 and parties a lot and I know when I was younger I did drink and then I got older and I was like You know this isn't my j how many more and I don't like hangovers anymore and I just quit because I don't really have that addiction Genetics thing that many people do struggle with and I'm sure that if I drank every day I could become addicted but I don't ever have like cravings for drugs or alcohol
Actually that's a lie sometimes I want a beer like I'll just crave the flavor of a beer even though usually I think they're pretty fucking gross but I assume that you understand what I mean by that
I'm not sure what to do and therapy tomorrow I am exhausted though and I wanted to work on things but I don't know if I am capable right now
I'm also really concerned because apartment 60 was sent a letter today about the fact that they won't be allowed to renew their lease
So I don't know if they're going to retaliate but they have told the new neighbors all about me because for some reason even though I've told the office that I can literally hear these people talking about me from every room in my apartment the people in apartment 60 have not been made aware that I can hear Everything they're saying so I'm a little worried about what's going to happen when I put my security camera up
I'm allowed to have it and it has cloud storage and capability of more than 1 person to have an account and look through the camera if need be and I was going to talk with a courtesy officer and see if it was capable of allowing him to access it for emergency reasons or to just check and see if it really is as bad as it is when I call for noise complaint before he walks out here and then tells me that nobody's being allowed because they see him and they usually scatter
And I'm not even anxious about any of this other than the fact that I am terrified apartment 60 is going to retaliate against me when it was my neighbor who raised hell and went to the front office finally because she was sick of it she knew I was dealing with it for a while but she's been dealing with her breast cancer and she just finally had enough.
So I found that out earlier today I was thinking that we were going to have to speak to mister Lewis who owns the property or did own the property or manages the entire patrician management properties something like that.
My parents have been really aggressive and cruel to me lately for really no reason because I've asked them like hey why are you mad at me did I do something wrong and they just get really pissed off and hang up on me or says that they have to go and hang up and I don't know what's going on
I know it's possible that it's not like personal but I really don't like that they're being cruel and I have calmly asked them you know can you stop being mean to me I didn't do anything to you why are You talkin' to me like that I don't deserve that and they will say something like really mean and nonsensical and just hang the phone up and I am left very confused and I did not blow their phones up with text messages today I did not have that compulsion today
And I did try to talk to my dad and he got mad about me repeating myself once or twice and he was like you need to fucking quit doing that and I'm like I can't really help it and he has a tantrum about it and I don't exist to please him or anybody else and this hurts my feelings so much because it's part of who I am currently and yes it is obnoxious but it's not something that I am Controlling that I am aware that I can just suddenly stop because when I do try to suddenly stop or I do get told to shut up Sometimes the compulsion gets worse and it's not something that like unconsciously doing I have been made aware of it many many times for the past couple of years and it's gotten worse and I don't know what's causing that
Willing to work on that but I need people to quit being so fucking critical of me because other people do understand when I say it's my OCD and I do apologize When that is happening. It is really frustrating having to apologize about something that I really don't have a good control over
I don't really get to pick or choose when it happens
So even though people hate it and everything it's like hey guys you don't have to live with this it's embarrassing already and I'm aware of it but it's actually pretty physically painful to quit and I don't know how to explain that it's something you would have to experience yourself and people just won't take my word for it and think that I'm just trying to make excuses to repeat myself and I'm like why would I do that
So yeah
And yeah I am worried about the people in apartment 60 I don't know when they're lease is up but they will have to move then but hopefully I will move before they do so I don't have to deal with it but I do worry for my neighbor but I also know she's grown and can take care of herself like she did the other day
I wish I could just go on a vacation for 2 weeks
Just like do my therapy session on video chat or something and go somewhere 42 weeks but I can't afford to do that right now so I'm trying to have vacation at home and vacation at home is just you know not the same
I've been using this little heart monitor which I guess you will see tomorrow and it is driving me insane right now I don't see a red rash but it it's like hell and I'm trying not to touch it because last time I had to wear one of these and they went to remove it it ripped some of my skin off and there was a horrible rash underneath the entire times so I'm hoping that this won't damage me as bad. It has to stay on till the 30 and it looks fucking gross right now because it has fuzzy particles stuck around the edges that I can't get off unless I use it alcohol be and then that might make the sticky come off completely so I just have to deal with it.
My appointment with my primary care yesterday she took a lot of pictures of me for medical reasons because I am growing a fucking mustache now and also like a beard as if somebody has given me hormone treatments to change genders which I do not like for myself because that's not how I identify
But it did give me a flashback to when I was a child having medical studies and pictures taken of me
And I did not tell her and I did not react but since then it's been flashing back to that and even though nobody hurt me I was a small child in a government study and my parents did not come back with me when they took me to the photography studio in the hospital
And I did not tell her and I did not react but since then it's been flashing back to that and even though nobody hurt me I was a small child in a government study and my parents did not come back with me when they took me to the photography studio in the hospital I remember the people being nice but I also had to strip down to my underwear and they took pictures of my body because of the rash I had from my autoimmune disorder I had at was really uncomfortable when I was a kid and I didn't know that I could just tell them I did not want to do it and I was also a really shy kid and I went non verbal a lot and my parents just thought I was being shy and I could never explain it to them
So it's kind of like a weird trauma to have it's pretty unique one. But also when I remember that trauma from early childhood where I was actually abused pops up andI guess it's because both of those things involved pictures
And I do wonder if the pictures have something to do with why I don't want people to take like normal pictures of me and I only take head shots and I don't know if those things are connected and I don't know if we should explore that at some point but I figured I'd just mention it here so you might take note if you feel it's important for my treatment
Since me and my partner had an argument he's been pretty quiet I mean he did apologize for his bullshit properly and I'm not mad at he's been scarce
So me being a person who doesn't look at relationships like everybody else and I don't know how to explain that I don't know what's going on I don't know if people just have reflection period after these sort of things or what
I did talk to him briefly about 20 minutes ago just asking him if he was okay and he told me he was okay and that the movie long legs sucked andSuggested that I do not go see it even though I love Nicholas cage
And I sent him a couple little sweet messages but he didn't reply and I'm tired and I'm not gonna message him again to get a reply
I don't think that our relationship is in trouble currently I just don't know what to do when he's being super quiet andI always have this very irrational anxiety unrelated to the anxiety I'm having today thatThat people are angry at me or just don't want to deal with me or something like that. And I know that he may not want to talk to me and that's fine he does not have to I'm not holding a gun to his head to talk to me
But it sucks when people apeople are going through whatever and they don't really reply to you and you just feel really fucking alone
I mean it's pretty obvious I have abandonment issues. It's pretty obvious that I have some codependency problems and I tried to keep it all in check and I tried to have time by myself but the thing is unby myself a lot and today I wanted to be by myself other than talking to him because I didn't think I would get stressed out by him or you know a few other choice people if they did happen to contact me but mostly today I wanted to be left alone because of all the chaos
And I find it really ridiculous that me wanting to be alone and then like feeling very lonely and it's just I don't know
Because I'm alone most of the time and if I'm not talking to people is that I'm not talking in general I'm just dead silent all day long and some days I have nice quiet alone days where I just can relax but it's been so long that I don't even remember how to try and relax and when I say relax I don't mean fully relaxed because I don't even think I'm capable of fully relaxing unless I'm under anesthesia
Like I feel like I could be given a fucking horse tranquilizer and I would still be awake
I mean before my Doctor diagnosed me with a heart condition that says that I cannot have Various sedatives and sleep medications Especially meds like trazodone. Because I remember taking that medicine and my brain and body would fight it for a while much longer than most people last and I would hallucinate black & white. And I think it's really weird because the only other times I have had any sort of visual hallucinations medication-related they are always in black & white and that is just weird and I haven't asked my neurologist about that but I'm not sure he would even have an answer.
I think it might just be one of those really weird things.
I wish I could take ambien because I had the best fucking sleep of my life when I took that I did have 2 ambient adventures but nothing that put me in horrible danger. Not purposeful just took my medicine and did not fall asleep like I was supposed to and decided to apparently make some art and then the other time was I went outside and thought I saw moondog creatures going through things in my mom's car and so my dad just found me in the side yard with my hands-on my hips staring at her car and I was in a good mood I remember it vaguely and then he just Brought me back inside and told me to go to bed and I was like okay and went to bed and I continued taking the medicine and it really did help me to sleep but when my heart condition popped upThe Doctor told me I could no longer take it and I'm mad about it.
I have had insomnia and I think it's genetic because I believe my dad's mother also had a lot of trouble sleeping and getting rest and such and I do share quite a few traits with her
My father also has some sleep issues and I'm not sure about my mom I think she just works too much and spins too much money which is why she works extra hours but I can't do anything about her shopping addiction
I am grateful that she bought the security camera for me even though I didn't ask her to
I'm not going to ask her to pay me back the money that she owes me because of that
You know I never really want any arguments or drama with people but when they poke at me so much it does rile me app and it's very hard for me to get back to being calm because other people seem to be able to easily just get Uber it and go back to how they were before and I don't know why I have trouble with that it seems like my emotions have to catch up to my logic and that takes a lot Longer than I would like but I haven't found any sort of way even with cognitive behavior therapy techniques to really make it shorten
So basically I just have to wait while I'm sitting there kind of beating myself up because it's just like logically I know what's going on but emotionally it's like a Big stupid battle
And yeah I do want to do the disassociative testing because sometimes I do wonder if I am split in some sort of way that doesn't have to do with a personality disorder I think maybe my PTSD is causing something to happen or just you know years of abuse and trauma have done something to my brain well it's sort of obvious that I already have something going on but I would like to explore what it is and how to deal with that or work on you know staying In touch with reality more than I already am
And it's funny because I had a friend of mine talked to me a couple of days ago and she was like if I had to deal with as much as you did I would be delusional as hell on purpose and I was just like that sounds great but In practice I don't think it would be practical to do or healthy
I'm also trying to figure out a way to be brave and learn to skirt the rules for SSI without getting into trouble so I can make money because I feel it in my bones that my dad is getting worse and my mom is also getting worse and I can't really do anything about my sister and it's sort of like I feel like It's crunch time like I only have so much time before the clock runs out
I feel like this a lot. I get in a panic because I feel like I'm going to run out of time and then I'm fucked
And then I asked my dad and mom like I had a fucking meltdown because they kept giving me so many different times and months and days that I would be moving and nobody could give me just a general answer that for sure I would be at least looking at placesBecause I'm tired of having my hopes gotten up and then dashed
So finally my dad told me again that September is the month and so I'm trying to get my brain which is also me which is a mind fog but I'm trying to get my brain to understand that I'm going to have to wait till then and hopefully it wasn't bullshit because I don't want to deal with getting my hopes up again
I need to move regardless of psychological issues because I have physical issues that are causing me problems right now and I probably should be using my Walker but I fucking hate using it and bringing it with me places and sometimes I break down and do and I don't know if I'll have it with me tomorrow or not
I mean I don't think that you mind or anything just thinking about it out loud.
There are some articles about how some people with AD HD just process out loud and it also has to do with autism and then O CD comes in to play and so I Know that we can't just stick that Problem to one diagnosis but it is like you're symptomatic of those diagnosis and I did tell my dad when he was bitching at me that I Don't Know if it's like neurological Damage or if it's something that can be fixed or helped much More than I'm already trying And my trying is pretty much failing every time I try and it sucks and I get very mad at myself but I don't Feel like anything is clicking in my brain when I tried to stop myself on certain things
Like I don't know how to describe the click in the brain thing
Like it just kind of feels like I'm trying to do it but the request for the action is not being met with an OK we're gonna stop no matter how hard I'm trying to stop so it feels like I guess like the brain sends a signal to itself and says hey we need to stop doing this thing and then my brain just says nope I don't think so and continues to do it and I don't know how to fix that shit
And if I do have some sort of neurological damage you know they have not found it on ACT scan or AMRI
But I know that there's another type of brain scan which my insurance probably does not cover that shows when certain regions of the brain light up and when they don't and it's not an MRI even though Mr i's do have some capability like that
And I can't think of the name of the type of imaging and it's the kind that they use to look at schizophrenia and study other mental disorders and there's clinics that do it but I can't for the life of me think of the name
I feel like if I just had better health care access I wouldn't have so many issues in general
Like a lot of things will give me relief to know when in Spring I should be seeing my genetic assistant again because she has a very long appointment Wait list
And honestly I did get some sleep but I just feel like something is just draining my energy completely and I've been feeling like that for about a month and it's probably stress I mean that's the most obvious answer but I have been feeling just physically not great and it is exhausting to deal with chronic pain and crazy family and then other medical issues And I wish I could just get a break from it but that's not how it works
The situational depression that I am feeling is kind of just wavering if that's a way to describe it
I mean it's there it's more just annoying than anything and I don't really feel like super nasty but it just feels like a heavy cloud hanging on me and I'm trying to ignore it because it's just obnoxious
Like I don't like having sad bitch disorder
I would rather I've an episode of Mania where I just clean my apartment and talkward faster and act really super happy but it's been like years since that has occurred
I understand that manic episodes are pretty nasty for most people who suffer from like bipolar and other conditions but the Mania that I get once in a Blue Moon is just like I actually feel happy and I can do a whole bunch of stuff and I clean like a crazy person and there's no executive dysfunction and I feel like I'm powerful and shit and then it's gone in like a week at most
And then I just kind of go back to neutral normal
And you know I have my low moments but I don't really have like the nasty depression all the time
Even if I did I don't think that there's a medication out there currently that I have not tried that did not give me some sort of issue and the main ones that they give people that generally work really well for most of the population actually make me feel worse and that is fucked up and not fair
Because I mean who wants to have more interesting thoughts and feel more suicidal type feelings when they're just trying to feel better you know that's what happened after taking prozac for so long and I do worry that because it took prozac for so long and it's probably you know it probably was never a normal depression it was probably the dysthymia I was diagnosed as having when I was 14-15.
And I thank them treating me for regular depression and not short-term and just making me take prozac for many years without a break probably fucked my brain app and then the brakes that I did have I was on another medication that did not work obviously and I really don't know what happened last time I was in a facility but when I figured out that it was the prozac causing the problems and I took myself off of it All of that shit went away and it was pretty fucking bad so what I'm experiencing right now is not Is anywhere near that feeling.
Right now I just feel like a weepy baby and that's about it and I'm sad but I can logic it and I am feeling my feelings so there's really not much else I can do other than just raw dog this crap
I haven't smoked much recently either I did the other day for my pain but it wasn't really helping the pain as much as I would have liked it too so the Doctor gave me a non steroidal anti-inflammatory injection that is leaving my system right now but she gave it to me because I was all swollen on my hip
And I see my rheumatologist on the 29th so hopefully they can tell me what's going on or get me into physical therapy where they can fix the problem because it might just be due to my hypermobility
Also I know I've probably mentioned this before but I am wondering how much do auto immune disorders cause inflammation in the body and caused psychological issues from the inflammation
Because over the years I have read that people with auto immune disorders often experience emotional changes and mood changes and depression and such because there's inflammation of the brain as well and the tissues or you know things like that
I'm not super well versed on that topic because it wasn't mega interesting to me because I didn't feel like my last Rheumatologist before my new one would really understand or be able to answer the question I don't think that they were trained very well
But I wonder if I'm having any sort of flare up inflammation if that could be causing the brain problems or part of the problem I don't know if there's any way to remedy that but just a thought as to why I'm might be having some extra issues
I really loved my partner but I really miss my ex and neither of them are probably good enough for me but I still love them both
Like I desperately miss my ex-boyfriend but since he got sober he isn't speaking to me or coming around if I see him in public he's a sweetheart but he's not really seeking me out to spend time with me even though he said that I was his best female friend you know and it hurts I mean today I sent him a message to just ask him how he was doing and he just ignored me And I don't know if I should continue to put any energy towards that at all but I don't want to lose him
I feel like I'm losing him and I don't want to lose him and I know we're not dating but I mean like even as a friend
And I haven't told him what's been going on in my life because people don't want to know apparently
You know I'm supposed to just be like oh living the dream and everybody's like yeah me too and then nobody talks about anything and I think that that's like something that's fundamentally fucked up about society is that people just lie to each other and people just talk and stupid little riddles all the time and for me I just don't understand why they just don't directly say what they want to say
I mean I get it I'm not like them but I also know lots of other people that aren't like them either that are pretty direct but I just don't understand why other people have such a problem and why it's such a social taboo to just directly say something to somebody and they get all upset even though there's nothing to be upset about and I don't know if that's just like the United States that has a big issue with that
I've read that in other countries it's not that big of a deal to just directly speak to people and I've thought about if I could afford to just expand the Netherlands because apparently they're very direct people and that sounds like my jam but I don't actually really want to move just to be understood and accepted
But I've also read other really interesting things while I'm like going on my little special interest deep dives that people in other countries also don't experience various diagnosis the same
For instance lake in our country people with schizophrenia tend to have more negative experiences and in some regions and countries they have more positive experiences and often those people are looked at as shawman's and things like that like prophetic almost in certain cultures and I find that to be pretty fascinating and I wonder about Lake cultures before they developed like mental illness treatment what did they do back in early civilization did they just kill people did they just lock them away I mean I know that those were practices
But like were there any positive practices that were done when people had issues where they just seen as people with gifts
Anyway I can't remember the rest of what I was going to mention here and I'm tired so I guess I'll just talk to you tomorrow I don't know if you'll read this before I see you.
I mean hopefully you get a second to do so.
I know that my other journal entries probably are concerning but I don't want anybody to worry too much because like I've told you it's just kind of like brain vomit but I figured you could glean something from me when I'm just journaling.

#this is exactly what me and dante made op take my hand. let me tell you about double prism#<- prev tags. oh 👀 do tell me about it
holds your hand. don’t mind if I do
this is piper and kaori, they formed the port mafia duo known as double prism and their debut was the fight against verlaine where kaori was literally going insane with grief because verlaine murdered her fiance (lippmann)
(also kaori belongs to @monstercard B) )
they have the longest story ever but let me keep it brief
kaori is an olympic gold medalist figure skater with the ability bad sugar, which acts as a preservative for as long as she has it on
piper’s ability is called concordat of pandoria and it’s crystal creation
essentially their battle style is that kaori skates on piper’s crystal for mobility. after double prism defeat fukuchi in an extremely bloody horrific battle (that involves piper internally casting her leg after it shattered so she could walk on it) kaori also has amenogozen made into blades for her skates. it interacts with her ability in a way that lets her travel six seconds forwards or backwards in time, which means piper has to shotcall around those six seconds and their trust in each other is insane
they didn’t initially get along though -- piper could not stand kaori because she looked down on akutagawa and only warmed up to her when akutagawa “died” and atsushi was dealing with that grief, since kaori was the only person piper could think of who really understood. kaori taught atsushi the skating routine she performs to honor her late fiance as a way to cope.
this ultimately culminated in piper resurrecting the flags (plus oda plus his kids plus rimbaud since she was already at it) with the book, the spine of which was protected by fyodor’s ability to prevent anyone from getting their hands on it. she was able to keep herself alive by drilling kaori’s severed finger into her head to try and preserve it from literally exploding, but it still cracked most of the way anyway which is why she has those scars.
anyway they are closer than sisters now and have taken out the entire decay of angels (except sigma) themselves. they are also deeply hilarious because piper is insanely extroverted and wants to be around everyone all the time and kaori is a deeply unpleasant human being who hates every person on earth except like 2 people and has such opinions as “men shouldn’t eat anything that looks or tastes good”
no because where is the girl skk like partnership in bsd

good evening :)
would it be ok to ask the fallout 4 companions reacting to a sole who manages to get a tank working and takes it for a little cruise?
please and thank you!
Good afternoon! What a polite ask! You’re very welcome. To be honest, I’ve been expecting them to add (or, well, re-add) vehicles into Fallout ever since they made the move to 3D. I suppose there’s always Fallout 5...
Cait is all for it, going so far as to straddle the main guns and point out targets for the tank’s wrath as the Sole Survivor pilots it. Every shot threatens to buck her right off with its force- and only makes her manic grin all the wider. “Yeah! Get that radstag next- wait, fuck do you mean we’re out of shells?!”
Codsworth, more than anything, is just worried that the Sole Survivor is going to run themselves over- or worse, blow themselves up. He constantly hovers behind the tank, chiming in with advice that he surely thinks is helpful. “I beg you to think about this for a moment! The family Chryslus is one thing, but... oh dear.”
Curie is right beside Codsworth in fretting, nervously watching the tank trundle along while half-expecting it to spontaneously explode. “You... need a license to drive such a thing, non? Ah, it is very dangerous- it is not, what is the saying, legal for the street?”
Danse gives it a routine inspection, viewing it as yet another piece of useful pre-War technology to be catalogued, preserved, and never thought about again. “Dual 140-millimeter cannons, smoothbore. Depleted uranium penetrators. Four tread arrays, in good condition. This is a big find for the Brotherhood, soldier. Proctor Ingram’s going to have a field day with this one... you are donating it, correct?”
Deacon wastes little time clambering into the cabin, running his fingers over all the little switches and dials. He looks so at home in the tank that it’s hard to remember that he has absolutely no idea how to use it. “Who, me? Uh, yeah, I’ve seen one of these before. Seventh... Republic of Dave... Mechanized Division, man. It’s a real thing.”
Hancock insists on hotboxing the tank, reminding the Sole Survivor that he’s never had the chance to try it with an actual functional vehicle. What little smoke escapes it as it rolls along only convinces poor Curie further that a catastrophic engine failure has occurred. “It’s a symbol, you dig? We take this Army shit, we smoke up inside it? It’s like giving the Man a big, rolling ‘fuck you’. Trust me on this.”
MacCready takes every opportunity to ham it up alongside Deacon, recalling his time in the Gunners to more accurately imitate a military hardass... which lasts for about fifteen seconds once the lurching tank gives him motion sickness. “Is that insubordination on my crew, private? Drop and give me twenty... oh, God, once we stop. Can we stop?”
Valentine would whistle if he could. He’s not shy about getting up close and personal, nudging the treads with one of his well-worn shoes. “...Well, would you look at that? You fixed the only machine in this place more broken-down than I am. Kinda gives me hope.”
Piper joins the peanut gallery with X6 and Curie, already scribbling the rough draft of an article in her omnipresent notepad. “I dunno, Blue. Tell you what: you can ride around in the big metal coffin all you want, and I’ll tell you when you’re about to crash into a tree. Deal?”
Preston is more than a little nervous... but just as impressed, too. Still, he won’t go near the thing, preferring to have Sturges check it out on his behalf. “...Wow. Uh- wow. General, are you sure this sends the right message? We’re here to help the Commonwealth, not... you know, level it.”
Strong feels a bit threatened by the presence of something potentially more destructive than he is, and immediately tries to lift the tank to prove that he’s still on top. He manages to get its front end maybe half an inch off the ground before collapsing, shamed and indignant. “STRONG NEVER LIKE MACHINES ANYWAY. DON’T FIGHT FAIR!”
X6-88 just watches from a distance, thoroughly unimpressed with it all. “No. I don’t think it’s likely to be of any value. A competent asset retrieval team could take it apart in minutes.” Behind those dark sunglasses, though, his eyes are as wide as dinner plates... and is he flinching every time another explosion rocks his surroundings? A trick of the light, surely.
Dogmeat loves it. Of course he does. It stirs primal memories of chasing cars in his little brain- and this one is actually slow enough to catch!

Win Me Back
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!Reader
Summary: When Reader’s ex-boyfriend comes back to town, he finds a way to make amends— with a little help from her niece.
Category: FLUFF
Warnings: None other than a few swears :)
Word Count: 3k (I barely made the limit, folks, that was hard lol)
MASTERLIST
NOTE: This is my entry for @homoose ‘s 2k Celebration!! And if this fic seems familiar, that may be because it’s a re-telling of the car-wash scene from Ramona and Beezus 🤭😂 It’s one of my favorite movie scenes of all time, it never fails to make me squeal, and I had SO MUCH FUN writing this!
Also! I tried very hard to find the scene for you to watch incase you haven’t seen the movie, but the ones I did manage to find on YouTube cut out THE BEST PARTS, so I’m sorry 😭 But in case you want to know the ~vibes~ I tried to capture and don’t feel like watching the movie, I made THIS post last night with some dialogue/background from the scene if you’d like to read it! Obviously it’s not required since what I’ve written is quite different, but it is encouraged 😊
I hope you like it!! And if somehow you haven’t followed Moose yet, you should! She’s the sweetest ❤❤❤
***
Y/N found an abundance of upsides to taking neighborhood walks with her niece. For one thing, it gave her a distraction, something to focus on as she made sure eight-year-old Piper wouldn't wander too far from the sidewalk. She found solace in quizzing her on the multiplication table as they made their way around the block, an activity in which Piper enthusiastically flaunted her love of numbers.
It was also nice to stay outside and take in the warm sun and soft rustling of the trees, though every once in a while all of it wasn't enough to keep the memory of Spencer at bay.
After all, it was kind of hard when he was back in town, and after all these years he was reaching out to her like he hadn't broken her heart in the first place.
"You seem sad, Auntie," Piper said, grabbing Y/N's hand as the turned the corner.
Y/N swung their arms together gently, smiling down at her with a tilt of her head. "Why d'you think that, hon?"
Piper gave a little shrug, her ponytail blowing softly behind her. "You don't smile as much. And you always smile when you're with me... And you asked me the same times equation 3 times in a row just now. You're distracted."
Y/N couldn't help the breathy laugh that escaped her. You sound just like Spencer... Instead, she told her, "Aw, I'm sorry, Kiddo. My mind is just in a... confusing place right now. But I'm very happy that you got to come stay with me this weekend, you always brighten my day." She punctuated her sentence with a little boop on Piper's nose, to which she giggled and asked for another math equation.
The two of them continued around the block a few rounds, though on their fourth and final one, Y/N noticed very familiar car parked just outside her house.
Heart jumping into her throat, she stopped in her tracks, and Piper kept going only to be pulled back slightly. The girl turned to her aunt and furrowed her brow. "Auntie, why did we stop?"
"Um... I just wasn't expecting any company today besides you..."
Y/N certainly wasn't ready to discuss everything that was going on with Spencer to anyone, let alone her eight-year-old niece who wouldn't probably understand or care anyway. So she explained it the best way she could, quickly coming up with a plan to avoid him as long as possible.
"See the car parked over there?" Y/N asked, and Piper nodded. "Well, that's an... old friend of mine... And we haven't talked in a long time because we don't really get along anymore. So when we get up to the house, he might try to talk to us, and I'm going to tell him that we're busy."
"He's not mean, is he?"
Sensing Piper's reservations, Y/N reassured her while letting her own contempt for her ex fuel the conversation. "No, but... He broke my heart. And he—"
"Y/N... Hi..."
She nearly jumped, mostly from surprise, but also at the fact that hearing her name coming from his lips and his voice and just him brought back a flood of feelings she'd rather have forgotten. Still, she turned to him and cleared her throat. "Spencer... Hi."
Piper suddenly let go of Y/N's hand, a small scoff escaping her. "Oh. Spencer..."
The two adults turned to look at her with surprise, though it was Spencer who spoke up. "You... know me?"
"Mhm," Piper returned with a nod, crossing her arms. "I heard Mom and Auntie talk about you yesterday, and she says you have a stupid, beautiful face."
"Piper!" Y/N screeched, heat rising to her face. "I... You can't tell people that, I— That's not... I..."
"Oh... I'm sorry, Auntie," the little girl said quietly.
Y/N was fully prepared to dig a hole and stay buried in it forever, and her embarrassment grew even stronger when Spencer spoke up again. "It's okay," he reassured gently, a small laugh sounding from his throat that regrettably gave Y/N butterflies. "You're auntie's definitely right, I do have a stupid face."
Before Y/N could stop the conversation altogether, Piper cut in quickly, being sure to add, "And beautiful."
Spencer's eyes flicked up to Y/N, drawing her in with amusement and charm, a fact which she hated to her core. Because it was working, and that was annoying as hell. "Yep," he said, never taking his eyes off of her. "And beautiful."
And then the corner of his mouth turned up slightly, flashing her the most amused, stupidly perfect smirk.
Piper started talking again, and for the second time that day, Y/N wished she hadn't even said anything at all, keeping this whole situation to herself.
"But we can't talk to you, because you broke Auntie's heart, and we're busy. C'mon, Auntie. Let's go." Piper grabbed Y/N's hand and led her up the rest of sidewalk until they got to the driveway. And even though it might have been childish to completely ignore Spencer as they walked past, not giving him a second glance, quite frankly she was quick to abort the situation as soon as possible.
Unfortunately for her, Spencer was persistent.
They were almost to the steps up to the door when he called out. "Piper! Can I ask you something?"
The little girl turned around, losing grip of Y/N's hand and greeting his gaze without batting an eye. "Sure."
Damn kids and their willingness to be nice to strangers, Y/N grumbled in her head.
"I know... your auntie is an important person to you, right?" Spencer inquired, walking up the driveway with his hands in his front pockets. Y/N swallowed, most certainly not noticing how the sun perfectly highlighted him in a glow that made him look more beautiful than stupid.
Piper nodded.
"Well... She's important to me, too. And I really hurt her feelings, but I want to make it up to her. Would you be kind enough to let me try?"
Damn him, Y/N grumbled yet again. Damn him, damn him, damn him to hell... Why was he so charming?
He'd always known that kids were a soft spot for her, and when they'd dated, they talked a lot about having some of their own one day. Every time they took a walk in the park and they passed a kid, they always gravitated to Spencer, giving him the biggest smiles, and in turn he would give them a high five or perform a little magic trick to make them smile even wider. And Y/N melted into a damn puddle every time.
He knew exactly what he was doing, using Piper as a means to win her back, but even still, she knew that because of his gentle nature, most of it was... well, nature. Deep down, as much as she hated to admit it, she knew that he was a kind person. They may have ended things on bad terms, sure, and Y/N could pretend he was cruel all she wanted— The truth was that no matter how their relationship ended, he was a good man at heart.
And that's why it hurt so much.
Y/N thought for sure Piper would fall into his web, but she was pleasantly surprised when the girl responded with, "I don't know... I don't know if I trust you yet."
You and me both, Kiddo, Y/N thought to herself.
Spencer laughed again. "That's fair. Look, you can say no, but... How about I give you something in return?"
"Spencer, that's no—"
Piper crossed her arms and tilted her head to the side, interrupting Y/N before she could finish protesting. "How much we talking?"
"Piper!"
"Well, I was going to offer to show you a magic trick, but I suppose I could work you a deal... I only have a hundred bucks on me, would that be enough?"
Sure enough, Spencer pulled a one-hundred dollar bill from his pocket, and the young girl's eyes went wide. Y/N's did, too, but more likely than not it wasn't a means of excitement.
"You have yourself a deal!" Piper squealed with a jump. She ran over to take the money, meanwhile Spencer looked up at Y/N with a smile.
She didn't return it.
"Is there somewhere we can talk?" he asked softly. Kindly.
"Well, I'm babysitting Piper today, so you'll have to come back another time," she returned a little coldly, hoping that she and Piper had just scored a free Benjamin to pig out on ice cream while Spencer was left waiting forever for a conversation that was never going to happen.
Funny how eight-year-olds always had a way of making things more difficult for you.
"Auntie, Spencer and I made a deal. He gave me money, and now he has to make it up to you. Remember?"
Y/N groaned. "Yeah, yeah, I remember..."
"Well, how about I... take you guys out for lunch? My treat? If it's alright, we can go to McDonald's..."
"The one with the play place?" Piper gasped, immediately turning to Y/N. "Oh, Auntie, please can we go? Please, please, please?"
She looked up at Spencer, shaking her head in exasperation as he smiled at her, those sparkling honey eyes reeling her in whether she wanted them to or not. Then she turned to Piper and sighed.
"How fast do you think you can eat?"
***
Y/N was surprised Spencer didn't try to talk to her more on the drive over. Though, Piper did most of the talking, telling Spencer about how much she loved numbers and math, and he even quizzed her on some multiplication equations on the way.
If she wasn't so annoyed with him, Y/N would have melted completely.
It was the getting into the restaurant that worried her the most, though. She knew that once Piper ran off to play while they waited for their food, he would spend whatever short amount of time he had trying to win her back. And she was afraid of two things, mostly that she would end up crying in the restaurant, making a scene and wishing she'd never agreed to go, no matter how heart-broken Piper might have been. But there was also a small part of her, nestled deep into her heart, that was afraid she'd fall for him all over again.
He certainly made falling easy.
When the three of them stepped into the restaurant, it was easy to see how excited Piper was to be there. She gently tugged on Y/N's sleeve before looking up at her. "Nuggets, fries, and Sprite?"
"Apples, too, and you've got yourself a deal," Y/N said.
Piper nodded, not really caring but eager to go and play. So she sighed and nodded, leaving her with a, "Be careful!" as she saw the girl quick-walk over to the play area. There was a decent crowd that day, but thankfully no one in the restaurant seemed to have any grievances or knacks for trouble.
Spencer on the other hand... Y/N scoffed to herself, thinking how he was the most troublesome person in the area.
He proved her point by nudging her with his elbow. "She's a fun one."
"Yeah, she's somethin' alright," Y/N grumbled. "I can't believe you bribed her just to talk to me... If I didn't know better, I'd have thought you were being romantic. But I do know better, and you're just stubborn."
Spencer laughed, but she refused to look at him. "Aw, come on, give me some credit. You know I can be a little of both."
This time Y/N did look at him, squinting in a glare, like she was contemplating. "Eh... five to ninety-five. Leaning in favor of stubborn, of course."
"Obviously." The amusement in his voice made her hate his stupid, beautiful face even more than usual.
Thankfully he kept the conversation short after that, at least until they ordered. Since it was Spencer's treat, she milked his wallet for as much as she could afford to on fast-food. She ordered a large chocolate milkshake and enough food for her and Piper to share for dinner later— and probably lunch the next day, too. The amused chuckle Spencer let out as she was ordering did have her believing maybe she was being a bit childish. But the longer she thought about it, the more she stood by her actions.
He did break her heart after all. The least he could do was compensate through chicken nuggets and French fries.
The only thing she didn't count on, though, was how long it was going to take to make all her food, not to mention getting things done for other people. As she and Spencer made their way to the table, she realized she'd have to talk with him longer.
Spencer took advantage of this, naturally.
"So... How've you been?"
Y/N scoffed. "You show up out of the blue five years after you break up with me, and then have the nerve to ask me how I've been, in a McDonald's? Yeah, I've been great."
He sighed, his eyes flitting down to the table. "I know, I'm... I'm sorry. And I know I should have—"
"Spence, please don't... Look, I know... I know why we broke up, and I came to terms with the fact that your job was just to dangerous for us to be together, but... I mean, you weren't even willing to work it out, you just... ran away. That hurt."
"Y/N... I'm so, so sorry that it happened that way. I think about it almost every day and how much I wish I could have changed it..."
"But you can't change it. And now you... you show up here after all this time to—to what? Win me back? Use your kindness and your charm to reel me back in, like that'll somehow make everything better?"
He looked up at her through his eyelashes, the sight almost breaking her. "Maybe..."
"It's not that I don't appreciate the thought, Spence, because I do... I've dreamt about the day you'd come back and apologize, begging me to take you back... But I can't get hurt again. And you have to understand that."
"I do... Just..." His hands reached out across the table, gently touching hers. The feeling sparked something in her, something nostalgic and warm...
Something that felt a lot like home.
He was going to continue his speech, but a knock on the glass separating them from the playroom on the other side jolted them apart. It was Piper, a stern look on her face. "Don't try anything, Mister... You're still on thin ice."
She turned away then, running back to the slide when Spencer sighed. "I thought we had a deal."
Y/N laughed, nodding at Piper through the glass. "Even a hundred bucks and free food isn't enough to win someone's trust." Spencer looked over at her and waited, visibly swallowing. But Y/N flashed the smallest of smiles before finishing, speaking quietly, yet with all the truth and firmness in the world. "You have to work harder than that."
"Duly noted," Spencer replied, his gaze never straying from hers. "Looks like me and my stupid, beautiful face have some work to do."
Y/N rolled her eyes, leaning back in the chair as Spencer grinned like a fool... A stupid, beautiful fool. "Oh, alright... You know what... If you weren't paying for my mountains of food and giving me a ride home, that thin ice you're on would have just shattered under the weight of that comment."
"Oh, come on, it was funny."
"No, it really wasn't."
"Yeah, it was."
He stared at her, smiling until her forced frown slowly and reluctantly transformed into a smile of her own.
***
"Thank you for lunch, Spencer! And for the hundred dollars!" Piper skipped past him and up the driveway, stopping to turn and wave with her Happy Meal toy in hand. Y/N was carrying a bag of leftover food and half a milkshake, her stomach already regretting every choice she'd ever made.
"You're welcome, Piper," Spencer said, smiling at the girl. "And thank you for letting me get a chance to set things right with your auntie. You really helped me out today, I appreciate it."
"Sure thing. Just don't break her heart again, or I'll break your stupid, beautiful face. It'll turn into a stupid, ugly face then."
Y/N mentally face-palmed herself, turning to Piper and telling her to go inside and wash up. The girl gave Spencer one final wave and a smile as she did so, leaving the adults alone once again.
"Thank you..." he said quietly, shifting on his feet. "For giving me a chance. I really want to make things right with us... Make up for the way I hurt you, and... try harder. You deserve that much."
Years of heartache and trying to get over him begged Y/N not to believe it, but deep down she knew he was being truthful. He wasn't the type of guy to come around like this—especially with all the work travel he did—just to manipulate her into heartache again, with empty promises and hurtful intent.
She knew he was really willing to try to make things right, and that was a big start.
"Thank you... for saying that... And for making Piper's day. I know you didn't really mean to bribe her, but the fact that you did it anyway is absurd, so... I guess I have to give credit where credit's due."
Spencer laughed, and this time Y/N didn't hate the feeling of the butterflies in her stomach fluttering at the sound. "Well, I'm glad I could at least amuse you today. Does... this mean my romantic to stubborn ratio shifted a little bit?"
Y/N rolled her eyes affectionately, taking a sip of her milkshake. "Hmm... twenty to eighty."
"Still leaning in favor of stubborn, I suppose..."
The smile they shared in that moment felt more like the ones they used to share back then, officially kickstarting the slow, meticulous mending of their love.
"Obviously."

A percabeth plot idea based on a dream I had last night.
Pretty much a soulmate au but except of any kind of soul identifying marks you can physically feel when your soulmate is close to you. It's like your heart is tugging you in the direction of your soulmate. And when you look in your soulmates eyes it basically confirms everything. (Tbh I think I been reading too many werewolf stories on Wattpad lately🥴) BUT ANYWAY. Moving on. Takes place with like these 3 different royal families, the Big Three (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades) and within these three places you have the different houses. House of Athena, House of Apollo, etc. Anyway, they have these temples that people go to to pray to the Gods for blessings or whatever. And for some reason in my dream kids were forced to go to these temples on their 13, 16, 18 and 21st birthdays. Not sure why but it was important to the plot of my dream I guess. Another point, the characters in my dream wore certain styles and patterns of clothing that matched the house that they belonged to. If you saw them on the street you'd be like "yeah they belong to the house of Athena". For some reason Annabeth wore a Tudor hood?? I'm getting nun vibes I'm not sure.
Anyway, so Percy arrives to these temples on his 16th birthday when he gets the feeling that his soulmate is near. So he walks into the temples and he finds Annabeth's back to him and she's kneeling on the ground praying. All he sees is the Athenian pattern and her curly blonde hair poking out of gray Tudor veil and he bolts. 1. He's way too young to find his soulmate. 2. His soulmate can't be an Athenian girl, his father Poseidon would flip his shit. 3. Their families rivalry aside, he knows the Athenian girl would never be welcomed by his people, she would be an outcast and he doesn't want her to have to deal with the snide remarks.
Annabeth on the other hand didn't have the best home life. She wanted to travel and get out of her hometown and see the world. She found the whole soulmate concept interesting and secretly looked forward to meeting hers someday so she could hopefully one day escape her town. So, you can imagine her disappointment when she's 16 and praying in the temples to send her a way to get out when she feels her soulmate near. Before she can even meet him, he's gone. All she see is unruly black hair and the House of Poseidon's blue fabric sneaking out of the temple. And all she feels is the crushing weight of disappointment. She tries to run after them but they're already gone.
Fast forward to Percy's 18th birthday. He's dreading going back to the temples because the last time he was there he felt his soulmate and then bolted and he's afraid to find her again. But his friend, Lady Piper of the House of Aphrodite, assures him that there's a slim chance that he'll run into his soulmate again on his 18th birthday. So he returns to the temples and he's about to leave when he feels the presence of his soulmate outside of the temples entrance. So he sneaks out through a door that's not an exit. Lady Hestia, a sweet lady who cares for and maintains the temples, finds him and asks him what he's doing and reminds him that the exit is in the opposite direction. He reluctantly goes back and the feeling in his chest gets stronger and stronger the closer he gets to Annabeth. He sees Annabeth before she notices him. He takes in her appearance and forces every ounce of will that he has to look away and walk past her without a second glance. Annabeth is talking to her friend, Princess Thalia of the House of Zeus, outside of the temples when she feels the soulmate bond get stronger. To her shock and annoyance, it's Prince Perseus of the House of Poseidon. And much to her annoyance and crushing disappointment, he walks past her without a glance. She feels 16 again inside of the temple when he left her the first time. She wonders, for just a moment, if her soulmate bond is a one-way street. She wonders if the Goddess Aphrodite had cursed her. Because every story she ever read about soulmates mentioned the strong pull soulmates have to one another. How enamored they're supposed to be with each other and unable to resist one another. It doesn't make any sense to her as to why he would walk past her without acknowledgement unless he didn't feel the same bond.
It's not until Prince Jason's 18 birthday that they see each other again. Percy brings along his friend Lady Piper for moral support. Annabeth sees them together and assumes the worst. So, she dances with Lord Luke of the House of Hermes to possibly make Percy jealous. Percy sees the two of them dancing together and assumes that they're together. So, he spends the rest of the night avoiding them and talking with Prince Nico and Princess Hazel of the House of Hades. Before Annabeth can confront Percy, he's being called back home for a family emergency.
The next time that they see each other again is at Princess Thalia's 21st birthday party. Percy and Annabeth accidentally bump into one another and they make eye contact. And everything that Percy was trying to avoid is confirmed. The Lady Annabeth of House of Athena is his soulmate. An Athenian girl. She who will be an outcast among his people. King Poseidon is going to flip his shit. Soon enough everyone's eyes are on them as they realize what is happening. Before Annabeth can say anything, Percy apologizes and makes a mad dash out of there.
Later, when he's being lectured by Poseidon, Sally announces that she's invited Lady Annabeth to stay with them as a way to get to know her and welcome her into the family. Annabeth agrees and arrives a week later. Percy and Annabeth have their first real conversation.

"Cianan!"
Piper beamed, just about dropping the broom in an attempt to get a visual on her curious new friend who was approaching from the lobby. Cianan was simultaneously one of the more recent and challenging developments of her brief time in the town. Ever since he'd first shown up one incidental night, Piper had been putting a hefty deal of effort into getting the initially reserved man more comfortable with her overall presence. Truthfully he was a tad imposing and perhaps even a bit difficult in the beginning, though Piper wasn't the kind to be easily dissuaded by such traits. When Cianan started coming around more willingly the following few times, he'd disregarded her excitement and claimed it was simply due to having business to attend to in the area. Piper was truly just happy her efforts seemed to be paying off, at least enough for him to now tolerate her over a quick bite to eat.
For as long as Piper had worked the confectionary it was a common practice to stow any excess goods that hadn't been sold by the end of each day in the back freezer, which then would be collected and distributed to the local food drives around the end of the week. As Cianan had begun dropping by on a more punctual basis however, Piper had taken it upon herself to keep a variety of her Friday items fresh and warm inside one of the ovens for his consistently scheduled visitations. Her hospitality simply wouldn't allow someone she cared for to leave without a small offering, especially while working so late. An added plus was how every now and then, if she were lucky, she'd be able to squeeze some personal conversation out of him before he'd vanish into the night.
"Oh, well you could say redecorating. Or- that's what I was trying to do, anyway. Instead it looks like I'm making a bit of a mess with breaking things." She shook her head with an abashed laugh. "I’m sorry, I guess I'm a little out of it tonight, huh? I didn't even realize the time. It's always still good to see you, though!” Piper offered Cianan a curt nod and a widening smile as a quiet 'thank you' for kindly assisting her with freeing the stubborn broom. When his sleeve ghosted over her arm she clutched the broomstick a little tighter, holding back a bigger sentimental grin. She exhaled a soft laugh from her nose in quiet acknowledgement while her gaze finally fell away from him, moving over to the broken centerpiece behind the counter. Her lips pursed and shifted to the side of her mouth as she tutted at the mess. “I hope at least you’ve been holding up alright. You have business tonight as usual?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cianan knew exactly what time it was and who'd he find when walking into Fennec's. You could set a clock to his visitations: every Friday night just before closing. Since aimlessly wandering in one day, it had become a weekly pilgrimage. Not normally one for sweets he had other interests. The owner was a petite charismatic young familiar he'd met early on in his arrival to Saintes. The overt bubbliness was almost too much to bear at first, but in time he'd grown immune to the overly joyful disposition of Miss. Piper Allegheny. He knew she'd likely be closing up shop shortly, and stopped in to select a few scones for the weekend. The counter had been abandoned which was very odd, but when he heard her call out from the back and noticed the shattered glass on the floor it made sense. Careful to step over the mess he headed towards the sound of her voice and obvious chaos.
With slight mirth in his normally sober tone, he replied, "No need. It's just me. What have you done silly fox?" Piper was apparently waging war against cleaning supplies, and it was enough to make him snicker before reaching out to remove a small bundle of mops allowing her to access the broom. Placing the mops back into the closet his arm gently brushed against hers. "What happened?" he asked slightly concerned by the disarray.
