thinking about moon knight having marc call steven the best superpower he's ever had during a really emotional moment and how that show handled DID better than just about any piece of media I've ever seen and. I'm sobbing actually. they equated his neurodivergence with being the greatest part of him after marc had spent so long trying to hide his DID out of shame. and maybe that sounds like bordering on glorification but it really wasn't. because they made it so obvious that what marc meant was that steven kept him ALIVE and that's the most he could ever ask for and anyway. whatever whatever it's fine

Generally speaking I feel like all of the mcu tv shows and specials have been better than the movies

Almost like if you give the creative teams more space and freedom to make stories they actually care about and aren’t as concerned about appealing to as large of an audience as possible or prioritizing the connecting it to a larger story over the story itself, then that makes the stories better

#I don’t think the movies are as bad as everyone says they are #especially the marvels #and some of the movies are still amazing like gotg3 #but I feel like there’s a few reasons why everyone I know who only watches the movies says the mcu is dead #and part of it is that if you’re keeping up with the shows it’s probably because you already like the mcu more anyway #but also part of it is that the shows and specials are just generally better #mcu #marvel #hawkeye 2021 #agatha all along #wandavision #moon knight 2022 #loki 2021 #ms marvel 2022 #she hulk 2022 #this is specifically not about fatws #it wasn’t terrible but probably the weakest of the shows imo

I think everything I want in madoka is in madoka actually, and the other shows have different things I want from them also

#babbles #tired of takes saying “pmmm sucks watch other magical girl shows”#because it fundamentally misunderstands why I watch different mahou shoujo??#genuinely all of those listed shows have different takes and themes and stories and dymanics #and if I understand this post correctly op is saying #fwpc has deep connections between the female characters and spectacular action scenes #sailor moon has a group of female friendships and hope amidst hopelessness and cosmic stakes #and utena has the surreal animation sequences and symbolism #(and all three have queer themes in it)#but like. they all tackle those things differently. and you won't actually get what pmmm offers by watching three separate shows #these shows are not interchangeable. you cannot say they are just because you don't like the most recent (and currently popular) one #anyway what is it with horrible takes about shows I like lately. good lord
