Where did the saying “in this house, we stan Dolly” originate from?

Good question! I love receiving questions keep ‘em coming people!

Anyway “In this house we love Dolly” and any variations came from me because the original incarnation of Dolly was meant to be a whole cloth villain character (with a slightly different design):

And I saw the vision here, altered the design to what we commonly know as her first incarnation (mostly because the pink accents in her original design made me feral /neg) and sent it to Sam going “Respectfully, veto motherfucker.”:

And then I got attached, started bolstering the interpretation of her as ‘not quite a villain anymore, more of a weirdo creepy henchman for hire who, on her downtime is actually very friendly with Honeycrisp’ by constantly bothering Sam and everyone with “In this house we love Dolly!” and it stuck way more than I ever expected it to, until we have our current Doll!

I know there will already be trash thrown my way for this one but I don’t care I’m here to rant again. I said I was done spreading hate but it might just be that time of the month again. Time to throw some shade in Lucys direction.

Tell me why Lucy thought it was a great idea to be left alone in a room with one of the spriggran 12 (Brandish). This moment just, irritates me so bad. It reminds me of why I thought her character was annoying all those years ago when I first watched the series as a little kid. It makes absolutely no sense, in what world is going alone in a room with the enemy who you barely got lucky surviving a safe idea? Not only is she risking herself, she’s risking everyone else in the entire guild for the selfish sake of learning about her mother who is mind you already a corpse 6 ft under ground. In what world does learning any information about her already dead mother become such a critical concern that she’s willing to let her guard down entirely and risk everyone involved for the sake of curiosity.

Even so, there are so many ways Brandish could completely lie and use Lucy’s family against her without have even having had a connection to them in the first place. I know I should post the manga panels for this to back up what I’m saying and give you an idea, but I’m too lazy to go through and find them. In fact I’m sure there’s a ton of moments like this in the show that I’m forgetting because it’s been years since I watched it.

Anyhoo, on another note. If Lucy’s so smart, why didn’t she think a few seconds before risking everyone for the sake of curiosity. I know that emotions make us act irrationally, but that irrationally just seems far fetched to me. It sucks that nobody else talis about Lucy’s flaws either because their so grading when you take the show seriously and see how crazy her writing is. One minute she’s this, and the next she’s that. One minute her reflexes are sharper than a knife, and the next she can’t hear an obviously loud enemy behind her grunting and making all that noise. (I know it’s not cannon but the moment I’m referencing is the phoenix priestess movie. Since I recently watched it and the moment really just made me remember why I had trouble enjoying Lucy’s character.)

Like what did she even do during Alvarez anyway? (Crappy arc in general though, everyone flopped during that arc. Only good thing we got out of that terrible arc is the fact that it ended) oh and before you come at me forcing your Lucy screenshots down my throat of how she “rewrote the book of end” or she did this or that. Just don’t, you’re not going to change my opinion. I know she did stuff, but what I mean is why didn’t she deal with any enemies at all? sure she fought brandish but she didn’t defeat her did she? I’m honestly tired of that. Like it’d be fine if Lucy lost that fight for shock value or something, but why does she lose like so many fights. After a while it just gets annoying. Don’t even get me started on the grand magic games, that arc actually is so terrible. Even on tenrou how she lost to that guy with a VOODOO DOLL. Come on, that man was completely defenceless. What’s a little dolly gonna do? She always get the comedic relief fights and its so annoying because the one time a fight of hers Is finally taken seriously, it’s completely rigged against her anyway. It’s like mashima wants us to see her character as a joke.

Anyway, lucy stans just block and scroll this is just a rant. People who also don’t like Lucy’s character though can stay. I like her design at least and her friendships with everyone, she’s a nice girl. But the way she’s written is something that ruins it for me.
