I started following your blog a little while ago, so I don't really "know" you, but I've read some of your work and the wips you're working on and let me say it, you're such a good writer james! God I've been staring at this ask for the best part of today and wondering how the hell I answer it because nothing seems like enough? I just want to say thank you for your incredibly kind words, both in terms of encouragement and about my writing 😅 it has been a really difficult last couple of weeks/months but with support from my friends, both irl and through here, I've managed to keep my head above water. I like your work a lot like it's genuinely Hilarious so I thought you would be the best person to ask for this.

I want to make a writing tumblr for enhypen but I'm a little lost because I've never used tumblr (as a creator) before LOL just used twitter and AO3 to write/socmed for fictional fandoms (tbh this is my first time like being a proper fan of a kpop group as to occasionally liking a song or two).

Anyways! What I've gathered from my experience on twitter and the writers I've followed here is obviously your blog should have an intro about you (inc. what you're comfy with, what you write, etc.) and a master list of your works BUT some of Tumblr's mechanics are Confusing.

Like,

1) should I create specific tags for my asks?

2) on twt, usually you create a tweet like "Hi! New to #___twt, looking for moots blah blah" to get an initial burst of likewise new people to bond and communicate with, does it work similarly here and if so/not please elaborate TT

3) is the etiquette to reblog every work you like, or is that spammy and you should just like them?

4) is there any other advice you have for navigating tumblr (like odd quirks)

5) ALSO this is a small dumb question but in the fandoms I've been in until now we usually used socmed au instead of smau do you have any idea why that's different (low-key smau is smarter tho bcus it's a shorter abbreviation)

1. honestly i'm not 100% sure if there's any real purpose behind specific tags for your asks other than organization personally LOL but it's pretty helpful if you want to go back to look through your asks for something instead of scrolling past all the posts on your blog !!

2. omg yes i love the twt intros 💗 honestly for tumblr i think i just started posting content right away whenever i made a blog 🤧 i think intros are usually just in your navigation anyways but if you want to talk to different authors then it doesn't hurt to send an ask!! usually people communicate with different authors via the ask box 🥰

3. all sorts of interaction is great but i think reblogs are preferred!! i typically use likes as my bookmarks and then reblogs to comment on work or share it to a wider audience. the algorithm for tumblr works so that your likes don't show for others (unless you make it public on your profile) but your reblogs are on the dashes of people who follow you

4. ooh i'd say make use of the tagging system!! using tags like #enhypen fluff or #enhypen x reader on your fics will make it easier for people to find your work 💘

5. HAHAH I USED TO CALL IT SOCMED AU TOO BEFORE I JOINED TUMBLR 😭 i still use social media au as a tag but i think smau is more widely used here!! not exactly sure why but im guessing its just easier to tag 🙂‍↕️ i get you tho bc i experienced the same culture shock

Just a little announcement about some of my writing below :

After thinking about it and looking over fics I had already planned with a little bit of a different Gator (in WIP’s and established fics), I’ve decided I’m going to continue writing for him!! There’s a lot of stories and things I’d like to do, changes I plan on making, etc.

As someone who currently writes for Billy Hargrove, and someone who wrote for Mickey Milkovich, I am going to continue exploring Gator’s character and also shifting A LOT of things around!!

Does this mean I’m going to write about show Gator? No. Not entirely. But it’s not going to be like it is, more like what I’d started before the show began airing. But that also doesn’t mean I’m ignoring his character, either.

Does this mean I condone or romanticize his actions in the show? No! It does NOT!!!!

Mickey Milkovich was a layered character (with quite a few of the same political issues/parental/other issues that Gator has) that I love dearly, one that turned out completely different, and one that has been explored through fanfic. I’d like to explore my version of Gator, but also work through canon and shift things.

And lastly, I will be tagging everything, so please have the tags blocked if you need to! And remember that if you don’t like or if you don’t approve of something - just don’t engage with it! Yes! And I know I have another ask buried wayyyy down in my inbox about Control snippets--the problem is not "do I want to share Control snippets" so much as it is "WHICH Control snippet should I share????????" It's very hard for me to throw out what I think is the best/most representative of the book/most likely to get people to want to buy the book LOL.

The following is a snippet from Chapter 1, which is from Noah's POV. He's currently in a relationship with someone who's.... not that great for him.

The problem is, Noah already knows how to calm that beast inside of him. He knows exactly how to cater to his possessive streak, that part of him that has always wanted just a little too much. It’s not that Noah doesn’t realize he’s… intense. But, since dating Renee, he’s tried to dial it back, knowing she thinks that he can be a bit of a control freak, sometimes. It’s a small price to pay, he thinks, for a lifetime of love.

Noah’s hands come up to the clasp of Renee’s dress, slowly undoing it and pulling the zipper down. Renee gives him more than enough, more than he deserves to take. He slides the dress off of her shoulders and lets it pool on the floor. Renee’s hands automatically move to help him, starting to reach around for the clasp of her bra to undo it herself. Noah gently stops them.

“Indulge me?” he asks softly.

Renee huffs a little laugh out of her nose, knowing what he’s asking for. “Taking care of people isn’t an indulgence,” she teases.

It’s not a ‘no,’ so Noah keeps going, taking off her bra, sliding her pretty thigh-highs down her legs, not letting her lift a finger to help.

“You’re always treating me like a china doll,” she grumbles.

Noah chuckles, taking in the bare expanse of her skin. If only she knew the half of it, he thinks. He wants to mark up her pretty skin with his teeth, his fingers, his hands, then treat her like the most delicate piece of glass afterward—putting her back together patiently and carefully. He wants to undress her, brush her hair, fall asleep with his fingers buried in her cunt, but the accusations of his ex-wife ring in his ears. Depraved. Clingy. Possessive. Renee’s common refrain that he’s being too much, to dial it back a bit, makes him stuff those urges down.

She always argues that she’s too independent to be what Noah really wants. It’s an argument they’ve had enough times that Noah no longer pushes back—no longer insists that it’s not about independence or strength versus weakness. Renee’s submission would be a comfort to him in a way he can never find a good way to explain, so he’s stopped trying. He isn’t sure how to give voice to what he really wants, and either way, if Renee isn’t interested—and she clearly isn’t—it’s a moot point, anyway.

The two of them fit well together in so many other ways, Noah thinks to himself as he slides inside of her. He and Renee seem to always be on the same wavelength, able to finish each other’s sentences, to know what the other is thinking with just a glance. It’s helpful at parties—all he has to do is look at her and know exactly what she thinks about a topic, the corners of his eyes crinkling with mirth as he sees her agreement with him written all over her face.

We fit well, Noah thinks as Renee comes undone for the first time. They have the same career goals in life, the same political views, the same sense of humor. They both like the same pizza toppings and the same movies. Having differences is important. Isn’t that what they say? That’s what keeps the relationship interesting. It wouldn’t do to see eye-to-eye on everything. Everyone makes compromises in a relationship. He can stuff all of those feelings down, suppress those urges, bury his desires for control.

Renee clenches around him a second time, eliciting a fairly self-satisfied smirk from Noah in response. His thumb finds her clit again, already searching for a third, but he can tell from the small crease on her forehead that she’s done for the night, too overstimulated to go again. Noah stops holding himself back, giving himself over to the feel of her hot, velvety walls dragging against the length of his cock until his hips stutter and he finishes inside of her with a soft groan of her name.

“Come take a shower with me,” Noah murmurs in Renee’s ear after they’ve basked in the afterglow for some time. “Wanna clean you up.”

Renee makes a little groan of protest. “It’s late, Noah.”

Noah glances over at the clock on the bedside table. It’s nine-thirty. He makes a face, despite himself. They’ve stayed up far later simply watching TV on the couch.

“Better to get clean now than wait until morning, don’t you think?” he asks. His hand trails up her inner thigh to swipe his fingers through the mess of both of their releases, proving his point.

“I’ll just grab some tissues,” Renee mumbles, rolling over.

“Let me,” Noah protests. He’s not one to leave his partners high and dry after sex; he’s always been one to be there with a glass of water, tissues, a warm cloth, or, preferably, a nice hot shower where he can feel the soapy planes of someone’s body as he gently washes them clean.

“It’s fine,” Renee says, raising her voice just a little. “Stop making such a fuss.”

Noah pouts playfully. “I like to make a fuss,” he argues.

“No shit,” she agrees, her tone a mixture of affection and exasperation. “Go to sleep, Noah.”

Okay story time!

Before I got obsessed with ysblf, I was obsessed with BTS. So obviously I was in the BTS army/fandom. I was active in Twitter so I had quite a following (over 4,000 followers! Sorry I had to brag🤭). Random people would message me and you know me, I wanted to make friends so I would reply back and made some nice conversation. Now tell me why a 10 year old girl started messaging me!!! The worst part is that I didn’t even know she was 10 until multiple messages later!! When I found out her age I was flabbergasted! Like why is a 10 year old messaging strangers!! Kids these days are so bold!! This was 3 yrs ago so she’s probably only 13 now ugh I can’t believe it! I always think about that girl till this day😭 I should’ve known honestly, cause the way she “typed” was off like you could tell she was way too young😭 that got me wondering tho! How old we’re you guys when y’all decided to message strangers online? I was 20yrs old when I started to do so and that’s for my BTS Twitter account. I’ve always read fanfics, I think I started when I was 13 yrs old but even then I never commented on a fic ever until this year, just a few days ago actually. And that’s only cause the fic I commented on belongs to a mutual here! I’ve always been too shy to talk with strangers 😔

i only really see it bc im obsessed with winwin, hence the multiple pcs i bought… of him. ahahahah. BUT ALSO FOR SOME REASON MOST OF MY FRIENDS ARE HAECHAN BIASED? like idk where y’all came from but (not that im complaining) my irl bestie is haechan biased, a lot of my online friends are haechan biased, you are haechan biased, i’m literally surrounded. so i do pay attention to like winhyuck interactions bc… omg… look… it’s us… 🥺🥺
