These two are my brainrot rn, don't even joke lad. And I wanna tell yall their name meanings too bc I like them a lot 🥹 Zephra's means "west wind" derived from Greek, and it's the feminine version of Zephyr. Tyrian was a type of purple dye used by the Ancient Phoenicians, huge huge HUGE thanks to my pookie bear @miothefish for helping me out with his name!!! Also he has Lisa's butterfly earring and you can't see bc of the angle but Zephra has the rose that went in her hair holding her ponytail <3

I'm also making a massive family tree for the characters as a go along, and just the jeanlisa tree is taking up half of the canvas bc of the KoF and Sumeru characters since Cyno is their uncle and the rest of the gang are their honorary uncles 😭 I'll be posting that once the series is done/all the requests are finished/I run out of ships and otps I enjoy

Here's an alternative version with some more info on most of the characters I wanted to briefly mention in their relation to them; Tyrian likes calling Eula his aunt too even though she was never really considered one for them so it's kind of like her unofficial title she pretends to dislike but she loves it and dotes on Tyrian 🤭 She and Diluc also helped train Zephra with a claymore and Diluc kind of became a parental figure to her in her teen years after Lisa's passing 🥺 She also feels like she's outshined by Jean and that she's not smart or powerful enough to follow in Lisa's footsteps (something that Lisa wouldn't want anyways bc it led her to her death 😔) rip zephra she's just like me fr

And yeah some Kaeya angst bc he's still going thru it I fear, and Jean is single mombossing but she's worried for zephra which me too dawg, im afraid to say she might be cooked 😦 Zephra is also kind of like a weird mix of Lisa when she was her age and Jean, where overall she's well-mannered and kind but she can be competitive and feel the need to push herself too much and pull a few strings to get what she wants from time to time. Tyrian is a ray of sunshine tho, he has not yet witnessed the horrors 💔 I do think that Jean is also a lot easier on him than her mom was with her so that also helps. He's very shy tho and wants to stick with Zephra or Razor most of the time, and they both have some nasty tan lines from going out with Razor and Klee and Fischl a lot 😔 Cyno also freaking loves them and dotes on them and Tyrian is getting a TCG addiction because of it smh, Cyno is also one of Zephra's favorite people and when she's in Sumeru she stays with him and Alhaitham (bc in my universe they are married ough I love cytham)

And (I think?) Klee physically and mentally ages slower than humans so I think she'd be technically 9 or 10, and Zephra is left with babysitting duty most of the time if she's home on break or smth 😭 Klee really looks up to her tho

Also, I wrote Tyrian's last bullet point like he was super young when Lisa died, but I think he was around 7 so he actually remembers Lisa better than I intended it to sound, he was just younger than Zephra (who was 11 at the time) and just didn't have as much time with her as Zeph did, but his most fond memory of Lisa was reading with her and she probably taught them some potion-making skills too.

I think there will be some abyss angst in here too at some point, since I hc Lisa to be probably an Abyss Lector/Harold (I forget which is which) um so thinking that Zeph and Tyrian experiencing some not normal things happening and Jean doesn't know what to do since Lisa also didn't really know what that dog in her was until it was too late 😔 That's what Kaeya's for tho since he's like the heir of the abyss???? Go off king. Also some touchy ragbros angst bc Kaeya is scared for Zeph knowing how close she is with Luc and he doesn't want him to push her away because of her being from the abyss or smth (they mostly made up but it's still a fear in Kaeya's mind both for him and Jean's kids)

The Gaze has been working overtime on Wolfwood's ass (and tits) and it's making me a little nuts. This is not to say his character cannot be presented in a sexy way, or that he cannot perform sexuality without being problematic, it's just... ask yourself: why.

It can be subconscious, you might not even notice it, but media tropes have a way of worming into people's brains to be regurgitated into fan art, especially if the character presents or is coded marginalised in a way you are not. (I do it too!)

It starts from young. I had an adult call me a "hot head Latina" as a child LMAO (I am not even Latin)

Characters and actors that looked like me were worked into typically these roles - If feminine, desired, sexy but crazy, dangerous. If masculine, similarly sexual, either hot or ugly, suspicious.

I feel silly and attention-seeking for speaking up about this kind of stuff, especially as I feel I'm not in a place to cry 'racism' specifically because I'm more 'ethnic' than POC.

Kinda off topic but back when the leafs got eliminated and everyone was raging over Mitch, a lot of his defenders were talking about how fans dislike him because they perceive him as having feminine traits (in the hockey sense, like his size for example) and everyone loved auston for the opposite reason, I was thinking it’s weird bc in the normal world I’d actually think of Auston as having more feminine traits like the earring and his fashion sense and he comes off as soft spoken and sensitive while Mitch is like indistinguishable from your average frat bro. I once said Tomura vaguely had she/they vibes to me on tiktok, back when I had one, and people ate me alive bc I listed his hair as a reason (and also bc I continued forward with using he/him pronouns throughout the video and I'm like...but that's the canon and I'm talking about something theoretical that I don't necessarily have a hard hc of, they/them Dabi is a different story lol) and people were like "thinking femininity is tied to long hair is transphobic and misogynist and blah blah" and it's like no you completely missed my point.

Firstly, I know that, because back when I was a girl and embracing my femininity in ways that I won't now that I identify as more masculine, I had short hair. I always had short hair. Androgynous girls with short hair lead me to the conclusion of being nonbinary.

Secondly it's not about the hair length, it's about the hair STYLE. Every transfem I've ever met started with that style or similar when it grew out. It's cute, it's fun, they're playing with long hair for the first time or even just in a new context.

It's also just about the general vibe. I listed elegance as a reason too, just the way he moves, but nobody considered how he's also so NOT elegant sometimes. It's the type of elegance he has, because there are so many different types. It's also int he way his so expressive. He shows so much on his face, which men tend to do in manga but it just feels different with Shigaraki. Again, I'm going on vibes.

Also being a nonbinary girl suits him because he'd be a total girlfailure, a loser girl, and I love that. Every transfem I knew was also a massive nerd. Most importantly I don't see him performing femininity in a traditional way. He is performing femininity by identifying as feminine and performing. He wouldn't change how he dresses or talks, he would simply realize that his identity isn't quite what he thought and run with it, because that's the kind of person he is. All those masculine codes brash actions like putting his feet up on overhaul's table to show dominance, and using ore, none of those things NEED to change because gender is so complex and that's FUN.

Again. This is mostly off vibes. I know a lot of people that think it/it's or other neopronouns suit him, and I can see that, especially with the way he dehumanizes himself (and with his stinky rat behavior, something a lot of nonbinary people, myself included, identify with), but that element actually makes me personally stray from that hc. Shigaraki dehumanizes himself in a negative way, and I think that's not good for him. Of course an argument can be made for that being the call all trans people have to be vaguely inhuman and monstrous in ways that only we really understand, so I don't think it's a bad hc at all.

I mean honestly he reads trans masc just as much. A lot of the league reads kind of trans because we tend to see ourselves in weird little outcasts. It's just a vibe a get from him. A lot of the she/theys I've met just also kind of have this "fuck gender and expectations, I'm doing my own thing over here".

Also there is of course the constant of Shigaraki chosing how he identifies himself and defying the expectations other people have placed on those identities. He's Shigaraki because he is, not because of AFO. That's his villain name because he connects to it. Despite all that he constantly gets deadnamed too. It's just...the vibes, the ability for anyone to read into anything what they want because their own experiences and it will fit because fiction is flexible (and even when it doesn't, does it matter?).

Anyway, his vibes, his masculine features and mannerisms along with the feminine ones and the feeling of being feminine even without having to conform to it (much like Magne did, and lots of people read her design as transphobic but tiger was literally there performing as a full transitioned man still comfortable with his feminine side, and it's like...all the trans women I know don't bother to shave and wear masculine clothes either occasionally or always even after starting hrt). It's finding a home within yourself as you slot the missing pieces into place and realize you find joy in different pronouns because they better describe you. Every trans person has their own wild ass journey and uses different ways to describe themselves with different things that bother them or don't and I think trans hc are fun for that very reason.

First, I'd like to announce two things; first, don't FUCKING harass anyone involved, and DONT harass Idol himself despite his predatory behavior. I don't condone harassment, witch hunting nor death/suicide baiting. Second, this thread is for, specifically, this reblog chain with a mutual and myself because of some alarming anons talking about Idol and his dark past due to an accidental like/reblog.

Now, lets dive in. These are from a wayback machine archive, which I can provide links to at the end.

As you saw in the original reblog chain, IdolMantis seems to have had multiple names in the past. Raisinrat, UnicornMantis, Bugcore, Ackee, Pitaya, all these names seem to be connected to Idol himself. Now, Idol is STILL active to this day on Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter, however he posts for his two web comic series; Monsters and Girls and Bugtopia.

As the two comics aren't anything harmful, they do involve quite alot of implied sexual content with mainly lesbian couples, some of which are drawn to look more androgynous or masculine. If you are under 18 I advise NOT to search out these comics, just to be safe. Idk I don't feel like minors should really get involved in that stuff but someone can correct me if needed. I do not know Idol's gender identity nor sexuality, and it doesn't seem like he's tryna sexualize lesbianism, so I won't speak further on these comics as its not my place to dictate what's good or bad rep.

However its good to keep these 2 comics in mind as we see what he used to be involved with.

The full callout was made by a Tumblr user titled AckeeLoveMail, which seems to be deactivated by now. The blog is pretty much a "critical" blog, or a callout blog, dedicated to a person named Pitaya, who used to have a blog named Bugcore. Bugcore has been archived, but no other info or images were archived correctly.

some Tillman and Mike gender headcannons/thoughts since i have them mostly coherently typed up and they are important To Me. these are not Universal Trans Experiences just my thoughts for these characters cw for discussing transphobia, dysphoria, fatphobia & bad parents

I think Tillman absolutely did not figure out he was trans until like his early twenties. My headcannon about his mom Harmony (Crab NPC from Discipline Era), her whole thing is control + image. (This led Tillman to also feel like he needs to be in control of his image but, unfortunately it’s easier to control a bad image than a good one)

But part of Harmony's image control was appearing as a perfect rich family so Tillman was expected to dress and behave very femininely. And his thought process went “I hate wearing dresses and getting dressed up like this and I don’t know why I hate it so much. It must be because something is wrong with me and it must be because I’m ugly” + that got mixed in with his weight because I think he’s just naturally chubby/fat. So that was one of those things that’s dysphoria that you don’t realize that’s dysphoria until later. Tillman absolutely he had the trans experience of I’m going to only wear baggy hoodies and beanies lol. Anyway this all manifested into him having a very antagonistic relationship with his body and food (esp bc Harmony is v the passive aggressive “Oh you’re eating/wearing that?” sort of parent. This is also part of the reason he was nasty as a teen/young adult because he was in a lot of pain that he didn’t realize was pain-just that everything was uncomfortable and pissed him off. Figuring out that he was trans, getting top surgery and going on hrt actually helped mellow him out a lot. Being able to just Exist in his body without dressing it up to impress anyone else helped him so so much.

I think Mike was also very helpful in getting him to a better place with his body and especially food as something that should be enjoyed not rationed out or brings misery. Mike loves to make food for people so they had a bit of a roadbump when they first started dating and Tillman refused to eat much of Mike made and they had to talk about it. Mike was very patient and not pushy for once and let Tillman come around on his own. Mike also hyping Tillman up as the hottest man ever helped too LOL. I think Tillman had a lot of apprehension about transitioning wrt still being desirable which is something I’ve def felt and I know other trans men have too

I think Mike had a lot of gender emotions growing up but they never fully formed into anything understandable for him because he was like “well I’m not not a man” and he didn’t really have access to like Knowing About “Weird” Gender Identities despite knowing a trans person (Jaylen) and she only ever had Jaylen to compare to and they have very different genders haha. And then I think in college and after she kinda was like well y’know men can be feminine, men can wear dresses, it doesn’t have to be a gender thing so I’m not going to think about it too hard. I think also she had this idea that maybe she was faking it or not trans enough or people would think he was doing it for attention or to seem punk. Also incredibly stupid logic but I think she was like “I don't want to look like I'm just copying Jaylen” which is a silly thing to worry about but nevertheless. And then Blaseball happens and again he doesn’t really have time to think about it. So its only post shadowing and in therapy that she finally talks to more trans and nonbinary folks about their experiences and starts to approach it from a “what makes me happiest” pov rather than “well I'm not miserable” pov because its a very Mike thing to try to avoid being too happy as a coping mechanism. And because of all this she gets to experiment and decides he likes having a lot of gender especially if it contradicts each other (she/her pronouns on masc days, he/him while dressed femme, beard + dress etc.)

i told a close friend who's only ever known me as a guy to please use she/her and my birth name, and he's been doing a great job. but that feels off too, specifically the pronouns. it's like, i like it? but it's almost like i feel the she/her but not in a way that i'm a girl. and it feels weird

on a certain level i feel like i really WANT to be trans. i've started watching trans tiktoks and almost like trying to make myself feel trans again?? which i know is fucked up bc if im not im not, but idk why i want to be so bad. and i know people would say that its probably bc i am, but i just dont know

it feels like nothing is right anymore. i've also never wanted to consider being nonbinary of any type. i'm fine with other people being nonbinary, but it's never felt like it fits me. i don't know if i've got some internalised enbyphobia to work through but yeah.

Something that I’ve come to terms with recently is that no matter what I do I am trans. Even though I’ve started presenting more feminine and I enjoy being perceived femininely that doesn’t undo the fact that I’m cis. Maybe you want to explore using other pronouns or even using a combo of ones you’ve already used! There’s also terms like genderqueer that may fit you as well. I’d recommend looking into some nonbinary labels, there’s no pressure to call yourself nonbinary if you don’t want to either. You don’t have to figure out exactly what you are right now, just follow the feeling of whatever makes you the most happy and go from there.

I know it can be confusing but human beings are ever changing and I think that’s a beautiful thing. You don’t have to be a man or woman or nonbinary, you can just be you. If you find any micro labels that fit you better go for it! I’d personally recommend looking into genderfluid or other multi gender labels based on what you described.

Trigun question: I saw Tristamp and I saw the OG anime 20 yrs ago and rewatched after seeing Tristamp. Haven’t read the manga yet. I was wondering why so many fans interpret Vash as trans? I just hadn’t caught on to that and was surprised that it’s so unanimous in the fandom, so I wonder if there’s something I missed. I have mixed feelings about it bc on one hand, hell yeah trans Vash. On the other hand I feel like all the fic I see just reduces Vash’s transness to having a breedable p*ssy. I know u hate Tristamp, so sorry if this is out of line. Maybe the reason I have mixed feelings about transVash is bc I felt the character in tristamp was wimpy and it kind of feels like fans making the character more female-coded than trans bc of Vash’s soft personality. Idk I feel this weirdness of ppl wanting to slap a vagina on a character to make them the ‘right’ kind of victim for violence and abuse… and like this bias of Vash = pussy haver = good person and his twin Knives = dick haver = bad person. I don’t feel great about those dynamics even if they are fictional. .. but..anyway…maybe I need to rethink things

i kind of get what you mean. i don't read trg fic anymore but the whole bottom vash thing is likely a direct result of people especially now wanting to characterise him as being uwu babygirl uwu submissive, which honestly is annoying as fuck. there's always this trend you see in fan content (and just in general unfortunately, especially with people assuming all transmascs are lithe little twinks) when the fan base is decently sized that ppl with vaginas are automatically bottoms... just cus they have vaginas. which isn't at all how that works. it's pretty irritating and also kind of uncomfortably bioessentialist. which isn't to say that the people doing this are doing it intentionally, they might not even be aware of the implications. but it would be nice if a decent chunk of the fan base could have an ounce of self awareness when they pair their submissive bottom vash with wolfwood, who is almost universally depicted with dark skin in fan content and as being the more aggressive and dominant one of the pair, because to me that just looks like old school seme/uke BL dynamics but also racist this time. i would be remiss to neglect to mention the fact that characters of colour are often automatically assumed as more sexually experienced and dominant than their white counterparts, even when there is little or nothing to substantiate that. like in wolfwood's case. why would a guy in his early 20s fresh out of catholic assassin boarding school be more sexually knowledgeable than vash, someone who has been alive and living amongst humans for 150 years.

as for why vash is interpreted as trans a lot, i'm not entirely sure. i can't recall if there is anything in canon that specifically influences that. personally i hc vash as trans bc i'm projecting, and bc of my own hcs regarding plant physiology. it's possible that bc dependent plants are always depicted as being "feminine", people took that as a signifier of vash and knives being trans bc they're the only male independent plants shown in canon (excluding tran, the young male independent plant from multiple bullets who was raised by sand worms, but i don't think any of that is actually canon.)

so um. i'm gonna do a readmore bc i rambled a lot and also what in the goddamn

so, some context assuming you're not familiar with The Lore. in trigun, humans are able to survive in terrible conditions because of plants: creatures that can create electricity, food, water, all kinds of things. they can't live outside of a controlled atmosphere, so they're kept in large glass containers. in the manga they look like angelic beings; in stampede, presumably for "gotta make the names literal" reasons, they look like alien fairies with flower petal wings. in both cases they're always feminine-looking.

vash and his twin brother, knives, are independent plants--they look like humans and can survive in the outside world. in the manga, vash & knives often refer to the other plants as their sisters, and vice versa. iirc the plants call vash "red brother" which is cute :)

anyway. context over. in the most recent episode of trigun stampede, knives has abducted vash and put him in some Sci-Fi Water. this allows him to invade vash's mind by stabbing him with his knives (which he makes from his body, and that's why he's called knives. this is actually NOT a case of orange trying to make all the names literal--he was always like that). he spends the episode erasing vash's memories to, in his view, "fix" vash's love for humans. during that process vash becomes petrified and sprouts a bunch of tree roots. some of the roots reach out and attach to some plants nearby.

a scientist working for knives gives exposition: in this version, plants are able to create things by pulling from a "higher dimension." he asks, rhetorically, why independents like vash & knives have free will and the other plants don't. then he says it's because the others are just husk bodies that don't have souls. so knives is going to use vash's unique special powers to go to the higher dimension, touch the "core," and give all the plants souls.

then the plants lower their petal-wings to reveal their bodies. the tree roots coming from vash are attached to their... very pregnant-looking stomachs, and their faces are agape.

not only is NONE of this anything like the original story, but i just... i genuinely don't know what the point of it all is. i've seen people say that last part is playing into a theme of bodily autonomy being stolen, but i still really do not like it. the manga also had themes of autonomy re: the plants, but it was generally in a "being treated as a tool or an object, not a person" way. labor exploitation type stuff. not... the main character being (either metaphorically or literally) forced to impregnate a bunch of his fellow kind?? who, again, were referred to in the original version as HIS SISTERS???

there's also the fact that stampede has repeatedly minimized and shaved the edges off of female characters, so they're less capable, less important, and have less agency. i feel that the plants being said to have no free will in this version is one more example of that. add in a scene where they're forcefully impregnated and are basically props for shock value, and it just... it feels really bad.

overall my thought is that it's needlessly gratuitous and fucking weird. not that the manga is innocent of being needlessly gratuitous (looking at a certain scene in legato's backstory 😕), but i'd hope for an adaptation to be better about that, y'know? not make up new, different things to be gratuitous about.

(oh, and as a side-gripe, stampede previously downplayed knives being a very paternalistic, "this is for your own good" type character. originally, he cut vash's left arm off because he was mad that vash tried to defy him and just generally wouldn't listen to him about humans being bad. stampede changed it so that he cut vash's arm off to save vash from getting absorbed by a magic sci-fi black hole. now he's back to being paternalistic? make up your mind)

HEAVY AGREE on your Matt Rife take. It’s so evident that the reason he flopped so bad isn’t bc he’s unfunny (personally I think he’s funny when he can interact with the crowd but even then it’s ehh) it’s bc he’s so heavily insecure. Sorry to confess this anonymously but... It makes my stomach churn whenever people refer to Crowley as "she" during eras he explicity presents as male. The Edinburgh is the most obvious example. Like, it's clearly a result of people not really understanding that the standards of gender has changed over time bc to them it looks real feminine despite during that era Crowley is wearing very masculine fashion for its time

Like, I get it, celestial beings don't have the same idea of gender as ours and Crowley is waay more fluid to how she presents themself, like wearing some women's clothes alongside mens during the 2000s or even the Roman era, but like, I never see people ever refer to Crowley as 'he' whenever she presents as female, like during the Crucifixion or as a Nanny. this is a weird and annoying one sorry but. realizing my gender can be transed or whatever but the feminine drive to nurture at the expense of ones self is forever apparently. and i dont mean that in a weird bioessentialist way of 'oh the female sex is programmed to be Motherly it is their biological role' etc etc moreso in the sense of like. socially. and the socialization i got growing up, the roles youre expected to play and the 'rewards' they give you and what that does to your brain. and something as pure and innate as love becomes pathologically self-destructive to you when you're raised that way and treated that way. so now im here and im a man but i cannot relate to the men around me who have never had to put others first in a way that matters a single day in their life, whereas i'm the exact opposite. its alienating. and youd think id be tired of it but i'm not. my brain's wired that way now, i talk up my lack of cognitive/emotional empathy and awkwardness as if it frees me from this fate but it doesn't, it just makes me hopelessly addicted to something i'm terrible at. i cant live if i cant help people. i'll do anything to help people. if i don't think i'm helping people as much as i can be what's the point of anything about me? and if i do think i'm helping somebody then i can't get enough of that, i'll go to any length, any extreme to keep being helpful, keep being useful, keep being told i'm kind and understanding and loving and compassionate. is it selfless or selfish? the line is so blurry. it's selfish selflessness. it's desperately filling and filling and filling this huge misogyny shaped gaping hole of need. cis men love to think of us as hopelessly attached and clingy because it helps them forget that they wanted us that way whenever the switch flips and they decide that we're too much. and fuck me because i keep saying 'us' as if i'm still a woman. i know i don't consider myself a real man deep down. that's not news. i have a long way to go before i can do that and before being male is something i can be proud of, anyway. the problem is twofold. and anyway this is just a long messy fucking block of text i am really sorry. i guess im emboldened by the blank slate and the fact that i have like a miniscule amount of followers right now. but yeah have me freaking out because i don't have a man to help and fix and and spoil and devote myself to while simultaneously being disgusted with myself that it's something i actually want/need. not to mention just the general pattern of I Will Help You Or Explode. Chapter 9 of wreck my plans, that's my man is out!

Summary: Luke Skywalker-Naberrie is sent on a diplomatic mission to Mandalore, on behalf of the Republic. He plans on getting the work done and leaving as soon as he can after the two years is up, but that was before he meets the Mand'alor.

“We’re getting married,��� Luke whispers, unable to hide the joy in his voice.

A laugh escapes Din, who nods his head, saying, “Yeah, we are, we’re getting married.”

Luke pictures a smile pulling across Din’s face, with soft rosy lips being at the center of it all. Tears prick his eyes when he realizes that the moment is coming when he’ll get to look into Din’s eyes, pick out every shade that swims in those depths, trace his fingers across his cheekbones, and eyes running over every piece of the man he loves. He’ll commit it all to memory, Luke swears to it.

“I love you,” Luke says, and Din brings a hand up to the back of Luke’s head.
