The thing about Kristoph and Apollo is that they have a very disturbingly similar sense of dark humor.
From 4-1, on the card not being in the bottle and there being a fourth person present (i.e. himself!):
Tumblr media
This is one of my favorite Kristoph lines because it's just so out of pocket. So snarky. He just says this in open court. Granted, at this point Phoenix had pissed him off enough to start breaking his gentlemanly façade. And he does apologize for it after. But it's still so hilarious. It really just kind of shows that Kristoph's internal monologue is just dripping with disdain for everyone and everything. He's so done with peoples stupidity and it's great.
And then we have Apollo. This is from 4-2:
Tumblr media
I think this is Apollo's internal monologue, were he to say this out loud to Trucy, she probably would've responded with something funny as well. But it's so funny to me that Apollo thinks like this and there are so many other examples of times that he thinks or says out of pocket stuff. Apollo's "so done" attitude doesn't really manifest itself fully until Kristoph is in jail, but even in 4-1 there are shades of it. I can't help thinking that it's an attitude he has in common with Kristoph or kind of subconsciously picked up from him. Either way the whole thing is super funny, and kind of melancholy if you think about it for too long.

IF it can be helped at all, stay home when you are sick to prevent your illness from spreading to others, even if it's not a "serious" illness and is just a common cold, a common cold can still be really detrimental anyone with a weakened or compromised immune system from conditions including, but not limited to, leukemia, HIV, and hepatitis. And you can never know if one of your co-workers or a customer or a random stranger at the store has or lives with someone who has one of these conditions.
Not everyone can help it, some people risk losing their job if they call in sick, and not everyone has someone they can call on to run to the store for essentials while they're sick.
In these cases at least consider wearing a mask while you're in public so as to prevent spreading your sickness to co-workers / customers / random strangers you encounter while out in public. There are several cultures where even pre-COVID times it was considered rude to go out in public without a mask even if you had a simple cold because of it being inconsiderate to spread your sickness to others.
Now, if it can be helped at all, if you have a job where you can call in sick without losing your income, or if you have a job where you can work form home, or if you have anyone at all you can call on to run to the store for you to grab essentials, use that!
"Oh but I don't want to inconvenience my co-workers by having them down a person today, what if they really need my help?" You know what's going to inconvenience them more is when you make everyone at work sick, and some of them might either have a compromised immune system or live with someone who does.
"Oh but I don't want to inconvenience my friend by asking them to grab some essentials from the store for me while I'm sick!" You know what's going to be more inconvenient is when you spread your sickness to that dad you stood in line behind at the store who has a child at home withe leukemia, or a spouse with HIV.
And again, of course not everyone has an option. Some people risk losing their income if they call into work sick, or they don't have anyone who they can call on to get essentials from the store for them. But again, at least consider masking up to mitigate the risk of spreading your illness to vulnerable people who could be seriously harmed by even a common cold or mild flu.

everyone on here loves laios for his autism swag but if half of yinz met someone like him in real life you'd be like "i don't know,,, he makes me uncomfy. something about him just gives me bad vibes, you know? :/" (and the "bad vibes" you'd be picking up on are just. signs of autism)

ngl, the more I think about it, the more I feel conflicted over how people sexualize my characters.
On the one hand, it would be silly to deny that I don't go out of my way to create aesthetically pleasing/attractive characters because I love to draw what I enjoy, and I love it when people simp for them.
But on the other hand, sometimes it does bother me that people are so fixated on sex and their own arousal that they miss important lore/plot information that I get a bit frustrated

to be real for a second, i think there is a moment in the show where mike has a ~realization~ of sorts about his feelings but hasn't quite put two and two together yet.... and it's this:
Tumblr media
this realization of "hey my feelings for will are actually maybe different than my feelings for my other friends, but i'm not sure why" happens at the end of season two. and then mike spends the entirety of season three acting sort of strange and different around will while having his relationship with him constantly juxtaposed with his relationship with el. reaching the end of that season which, despite all the supernatural shit going on, took the time to focus so heavily on those two relationships (and how fundamentally different they are), and having mike have the same realization he had at the end of season two makes no sense because it would mean he accomplished absolutely nothing in his emotional arc during the course season three
Tumblr media Tumblr media
especially to claim that he still believes he has feelings for el going into season 4. especially to claim he still believes he has feelings for el by the end of season 4. it's to claim that he has not made any emotional progress in his relationships for at least two full seasons, that he's been going through all of this for it to not have made any conscious impact on him, and the changes in the way he acts from s2-3 and from s3-4 aren't a product of his character developing (growing, changing, to quote hopper's letter) but rather..... ? i don't know actually. just him feeling weird but not understanding himself at all. still. it just doesn't make sense to me. he's one of the main characters of the show, and to keep him emotionally stagnant for 4 out of 5 seasons (especially when we can see that his behavior is changing, that he has not been stagnant at all but rather deeply affected by everything) would be a disservice to his character, first of all, but also a disservice to the narrative which has been showing us his (as well as the other characters') struggle with growing up and growing into himself every season. and it simply doesn't align with what we're being shown
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
mike is already having realizations by the end of season two. but by the end of season three, he's starting to be really honest with himself about what they mean

Men who view women as their intellectual equals 😍
#pro tip for the boys: a lot of girls will respond a lot better to a stimulating conversation than to a guy trying to show off#ignore the movies they're lying to you when they tell you you need to be a show off#and if a girl wants that it's maybe not the best sign y'know?#but most girls just want to be treated like we're capable intelligent humans#that's all!! the movies and shit make it way more complicated than it has to be#and yes some girls do make things awkward and complicate everything#but maybe you wanna be careful about that because those girls generally have a lot to unpack#being friends with those girls is fine!! just make sure you have strong boundaries in place#and make sure she's doing some work on herself before considering a romantic relationship#but anyway i've had a lot of men in my life that i feel like wanted to be so much smarter than me#and not to be rude but they weren't?? i was just as smart and sometimes smarter#i didn't care that they were confident in their intelligence but i felt like i needed to dumb myself down#and it. freaking. sucked. i have no idea how i did it for so long#and i would even make jokes about like the guys i dated being smarter than me and nobody ever said anything??#and again these guys weren't smarter than me. that's not an insult to them just acknowledging i'm smarter than i was gave myself credit for#i'm outgrowing the notion that i have to dumb myself down for men and it's so freeing#and you know what really helps me actually? being in college#and especially being in college with so many intelligent men who know they're smart#these guys KNOW they're smart. and not in an arrogant way in a secure and confident way#them knowing they're smart makes them the OPPOSITE of arrogant actually#it's weird but i stand by my observation and it makes sense when you think about it#if you're secure in yourself and your intelligence you don't need to proce yourself by making other people look dumb#these guys are secure in their self-image and masculinity. they don't need women to be dumb and weak to feel strong and intelligent.#and it's so freaking endearing. i love that for these guys so much.#i am just so thankful for people in my life who are taking me seriously and who are helping me to understand i'm worth taking seriously.#wow these tags are long but anyway#guys you don't have to prove anything girls you should never have to dumb yourselves down live long and prosper

this might sound a bit dumb and out of no where but hmmm. how do i say this... there are a lot of posts and a general consensus about quote unquote media literacy on tumblr and how we feel about it, as well as the things that go hand in hand with all that (discussion of mischaracterisation, symbolism, analysis, etc) and i think people (generally) need to be more open about their thoughts or findings and less i don't know... harsh isn't the word but like, just less assumptive that people are inherently out to be willfully ignorant when it comes to dissecting media thematically or discussing characterisation & the narrative, esp things where the outside factor of the consumer/creator changes things drastically if you do or do not know or experience something (and therefore would have no reason to be like, somehow maliciously interpreting something). i guess?
like i get it and i absolutely understand and also hate when people seem to go out of their way to say all the wrong things and stubbornly cling onto things that are WRONG, and confronting someone's opinion and it being SO wrong that you can comfortably think of a rebuttal is ultimately very satisfying and scratches a certain itch and can lead to a lot of thoughtful discussion despite being essentially a big "get a look at THIS guy". but i do think there is a vast difference between like, a) someone masquerading behind being knowing buzzwords and being able to say the right words in the right order, b) someone who isn't familiar with certain concepts and DOESN'T know the right words to say but is happily open to learning, and c) someone using the guise of talking about "media literacy" to be ignorant, bigoted or willfully misinterpreting something in a biased way who refuses to concede if confronted or goes out of their way to pick arguments. whilst the first two aren't malicious, both could turn out to be, just like the last category tends to be rejects of the first two who dug their heels in about it.
whilst there is a DIFFERENCE if someone was being say bigoted and prejudiced with hateful intent, not being "media literate" is not actually a moral failing as much as it is made out to be in moments of sweeping generalisation, and i think punishing people for not knowing how to hold thoughtful discussion is obviously cruel and dumb and unnecessarily othering. you don't want people to learn things out of a sense of shame or guilt. i know it's not the INTENT, and i don't like, interpret even 99% of discussion about this whole thing that way, but that doesn't change that discussing people very broadly who just Don't Know something is always going to leave the 1% of a LOT of harshness thrown against someone who doesn't deserve that. even if they're the stupidest twitterina known to man or something.
media literacy itself is not inherent and it is HARD, as much as people try to pretend it isn't. personally i am someone who has always and probably always WILL struggle to understand complex themes and often do need someone else to guide me towards thinking a certain way, thinking in these ways don't come naturally to me as much as i try my best to and i often think the "wrong" thing as my natural conclusion. and every Damn time that happens i see someone going "if you didn't realise this you're a fucking idiot" like woah man 😭 calm down. i dunno i feel like people just forget that this stuff is something you have to train like a muscle, esp things like vocabulary or a more complex academic way of speaking, and to some of us that is always going to be inherently inaccessible or it's going to take twice as long for us to grasp, for whatever reason. i just wish people were more fair is all.
#🐾#esp and i think i'm qualified to say this when it's someone who comes from a very isolated niche of online fandom or whatever. any online#community. who is used to being in that space with likeminded people and then loses their absolute shit when they're confronted with how#the average person thinks. like ohhhh my god calm down it is not that dramatic ever#as much as i like going to war about characterisation or something like that you don't need to be calling people evil and braindead and#stupid bc they didn't Politically Analyse a children's cartoon in great depth#😭😭😭#anyway ...#i think this is in a roundabout way connected to that one post going around i reblogged#abt media literacy being taught in highschool and people just not paying attention#and i still think that's like unfair as a position to hold bc Again i DIDNT go to high school as in i did Not Attend it#the breadth of my knowledge ends after year 7#and that's just me. like yeah some people ARE idiots and ignorant and pretend Again like their brains welded shut#but people generally are always open to learning and a lot of people very much Like thoughtful discussion about the arts#and thematic analysis of their favourite shows so they can describe why they like them properly beyond ''i just like it''#and just really really broadly cutting them all off declaring them hopeless and indirectly declaring yourself smarter than them forever#is ultimately unhelpful. and fucking rude. if they've done or said nothing wrong at least#and even if they did think something wrong like damn that's happened to everyone please.. it happens all the time#there is just this inherent condescending way some people talk that gets on my damn nerves

Goretober VIII: Worming Their Way Into Your Heart
*emerges from the other end of the weekend wearing a suit covered in blood and corn kernels* do NOT go in there have a @coyotehusk goretober blurb instead
←Previous - Castys Masterlist - Goretober Masterlist - Next→
Ingredients: parasites (in the mouth and under the skin), gore, gross wound description (i talk about pus!)
“Why do you have a worm?”
Kuro proudly held up the glass jar she was carrying so he could see the creature inside even better. “I just want to see what it’ll do to you!”
Castys shrunk back, stopped by the chain on the collar he was wearing again. “I think it’s going to make me very miserable. The end. Nothing to investigate.”
She just laughed at that and pounced on him, pinning him down. Why did he bother, again? “I’m sure it will, but I want to know just how miserable.”
“Very.”
“Really?” Kuro unscrewed the lid of the jar and forced his mouth open before he could attempt to close it. “Show me.”
She dumped the fucking worm in his mouth.
However, she was dumb enough to just cover it so he couldn’t spit it out, which didn’t stop him from biting down and-agh it was wriggling he hated hated hated the feeling of it squirming around in his mouth why wasn’t it dead yet he’d-
“The funny thing about this kind of worm is you can cut it in two and it just makes two worms. Maybe you have a breeding pair in your mouth now. We’ll have to see if they multiply.” Castys’s eyes went wide at that. She-she’d been expecting him to do that so that he’d increase the number of-or maybe she was lying, he wasn’t sure worms even worked like that, being able to reproduce with themselves, but he didn’t really know anything about worms, just that there were two in his mouth and they were wiggling all over and he didn’t want to swallow them but he knew he was going to have to or things would get worse somehow she might stitch his mouth shut again and he really really hated the feeling of them squirming, rubbing against his tongue and wrapping around his teeth and tickling the inside of his cheeks and he couldn’t take it-
He swallowed.
His entire body shuddered reflexively, as if that could erase what he’d just done. “Good boy, Castys,” Kuro praised, getting off him. “Don’t you dare try to throw them up. I’ll just make you eat them again.” Castys glared at her as he sat up, his mouth still tingling with the ghosts of the stupid worms which were hopefully just going to die in his stomach.
“Can I have some fucking water?”
“You know what, yes. You need to stay healthy and alive for your new friends.”
So he got water, he got food, and no more torture, so the days (well, what he assumed were days) flew by sort of peacefully. Just as he’d started hoping that the worms were dead after all, he started to feel sick. It started out as a fever, then itching on his left leg, the sight of something wiggling under his skin, and soon he started to get awful, painful blisters on his lower leg. The itch faded, leaving behind an excruciating burning feeling, so intense it was nearly maddening.
Soon enough, worms started to emerge from the blisters.
All Castys did was touch one of them, try to pull the damn thing out, and moments later he found himself on the stupid table again, strapped down tight. Kuro poked at his leg, her every touch only inflaming his wounds more. He’d glanced down at his leg a few times, and it wasn’t a pretty sight. The blisters were red and angry, the hair around them matted with blood and pus, each one crowned with a little white worm wiggling its way out. The process was slow, and dying didn’t speed it up. In fact, if anything, it seemed to make things worse, the skin around the blisters gaining a weird yellow hue, barely visible around the thick crusts of dried pus surrounding them.
Even when the worms were finally gone, every moment was agony, and death didn’t change a thing.
