summer 2019 anime sum-up

lmao i realized i never did this and posted the fall season b4 this.... oops

kimetsu no yaiba: tbh started out kinda meh. and now it’s turned into one of the new big shounens. i was not expecting that. nearing the end got rly good and i was rly looking forward to more episodes! tanjiro gets cooler and cooler! animation is rly nice (thanks ufotable) and the way tanjiro’s water is animated. like. aesthetic asf. it’s so good. i love black-haired emo dude and zenitsu (my spirit animal) and ofc nezuko she is adorable im c r y. side note: the hashira? i think they’re called? some of the ugliest fkn characters i’ve seen in ages like flame boy? stone boy? i HATE them. and the gem dude too like man get a new tattoo artist on god.... he needs it.,,,,,,and inosuke is so pretty it’s unfair

dr stone: ok man dr stone rly went off. tbh. i’ve always been a whore for chemistry since reading the flavia de luce series (btw, i want more books of) and watching this just tickles my noodle brain in a good way... who needs prozac when i get a shitton of serotonin from watching senku dick around....  (btw what is going on with what’s his face and the girl. yuzuriha????? i can’t remember. i love senku don’t get me wrong but i need their perspective too... bc i hate lion dude... so much.... dick....) again i will repeat that i am a whore for chemistry so i get oFF on this. backgrounds are amazing/ animation so nice n clean (most o the time lmao). i thought i would hate the black n white haired trickster boi and ms yellow ponytail and suika but no! dr stone is such a good show that they are now great, loveable characters. also i am senku and chrome’s whore so jfc. man, i love the explanations of all the chemistry shabang, but some things i think would be better if explained! like senku doing physical labour at the beginning- ex. making all those pots and building that shit by hisself. i know he weak af. yes he smart but like. construction? difficult. pottery? even for me the artist . difficult. and that shed of his was filled to the brim. HOW. anyways, i love this so much i am crying constantly

danmachi 2: wtf yo. haruhime is so pretty but not a fan of her personality! bell still cute af and still don’t rly like aiz! animation good as always, and my god i shit myself whenever the argonaut theme starts up bc that is ? one of the best pieces of non-sawano hiroyuki pieces i’ve ever heard? addicted to it. and the opening! love the dynamics, the brief ‘rain’ scenes like when mikoto slashes the raindrops and just her motion basically? as an animator that is what i aspire to accomplish because i just love that. tiny little scene. 

arifureta: this would have been so much better had they dragged out mc’s op-ifying process! made him suffer more! i explained this briefly in my ‘first thoughts’ post for this season, but story-wise and pacing-wise his power-up could have been so much more deserved and gratifying. think shield hero- loser suffers, gets angry, slowly builds up power in an epic payoff! would have been so epic too. and also if they’d made his gained powers less.... crazy nerfed. again: HE SHOULD HAVE SUFFERED MORE AND THIS WOULD HAVE MADE A BETTER SHOW. harem thoughts: yue- meh. sucky char honestly. shea- my fav girl, she is a great character don’t judge- sexy and love her personality and love her character design and love how much fanservice she gets lol. panty flash ftw. dragon girl- discount darkness honestly , tho nice design. and mermaid girl- yuck, annoying,  DO NOT like the ‘papa’ trope! (ahem sao.) it’s gross. also just fuck mc’s classmates honestly- paladin dude sucks ass, healer girl OOF that last episode ruined her, samurai girl is ok i guess. hate ai-sensei too like shut UPP annoying ass HOEEEEE (postscript: opening=very epic too)

kanata no astra: plot twist? check. trillion well-done plot twists? check. this was done very well. i am so happy. all those plot twists and turns would usually suck in any regular anime- but this was written with GODLIKE ability. thank you, lerche. legit, this was such an enjoyable ride, i eagerly awaited each new ep! typically i hate space-related stuff but like! survival stuff gets my goat.... like this was good- (tho maybe more technical-stuff in the survival theme would make it so cooler) what shocked me the most: (spoilers alert) didn’t end up hating quitterie or funi. (tho the puppet made me want to strangle smth) luca’s gender had rly confused me but i’d decided on him being a boy- so basically that reveal left me like WHOA. i died. did luca rly have to show emo boy their tity tho... kanata losing his arm gave me the yeeeks, charce being the traitor was made sO WELL into a surprise even tho i’d kinda already suspected him<- like that was just fucking amazing writing there. gj. and ares the princess! ok man! shocked! AND also the whole clone thing, just fucked me right up. up the ass. like there are probably more plot twist layers in this than a fkn ogre has.... anyway shrek aside, yun?’s character arc was very pleasing, i think that was done very well! and the ending made me UwU like BRO? goals tbh. yeah this is a hidden gem and is just so good, so well-written overall. 

cop craft: didn’t have high expectations. i am now,,, quite,,, shocked &,,, blown away. sweetheart this is a good fucking show. so why @ livechart.me DOES IT HAVE 7.40 STARS WHEN FKN ARIFURETA HAS 7.72. can someone explain this to me? i’m outraged. LIVID.  matoba and tilarna were amazing characters btw! loved their dynamic! briefly i thought it might get romantic! nope, it didn’t, so it’s all good. actions scenes were epic, tilarna’s design and outfits were so much nicer than i thought they’d be like. she is so cute. and the op- man, if that is not such a bopper vibe then idk what is. i could watch it forever. it deserves so much more than what it’s got rn.

naka no hito genome: (serious question: is this considered some sort of isekai?) genome gave me btooom vibes honestly but like- this is SO much better than btooom and most game/trap/ kinda shows. fkn BOP of an op, especially the sequence at the end with short clips of each character in action (nutt). paka-san was a good boy and he deserves irl merch. i fell in LOve with all the characters (bubble boy= hot, akatsuki= ok meh actually kinda boring, karin= hot and i want her to punch me, ruromori= beautiful 12/10 would let her stalk me, sleepy eyes boy= baby + dazai vibes and hot af, twin boy= also hot, onigasaki= hot and love him so much, and loli girl= her light grenades got annoying but nice char design) anyways yeah more of this would be epic. i wanna see sakura and her twin reunite, and how they get out basically! also animation quality was very good which is surprising considering it’s a silver link anime.

kono yo no hate de koi wo utau shoujo yu-no: i include the whole title bc this is a good anime. (also livechart.me why 7.27 stars i will fuck you up) only meh part of this is the return to earth from dela granto bc that was like a culture shock and honestly at that point i’d forgotten a lot about what had happened on earth and didn’t care as much. btw, f ayumi and f the other brown-haired oneesan. mio and kanna ftw. obvs i didn’t understand the sayless x takuya thing like dumbass horny teenager . why u gotta creampie the worst girl. u have mio. bruh. (tho mio x ��oyabi!’ boy is a great ship) also, takuya’s mom? keiko-san? idk if you’ve noticed but that’s literally my name so yeah just glad to finally have some keiko representation. altogether goodass anime. the time travel/ rezero esque reset thing almost got me but this was done well. so no problems. both ops very good. first song was bae, second also bae (just realized it’s by konomi suzuki, one of my waifu idols, so yea nice) and ed2 also so pretty! also yu-no’s design was rly pretty, the outfit colours, and her pigtails rly suited her :)

granbelm: sorry this is the last one lol this was a long ass post! other than the fact i dont rly like mecha this was good.... action, CHARACTER designs aesthetic asf, honestly rly pretty ok. i liked the cast, very diverse and more depth than most shows of this ilk. op was nicely choreographed- especially the part where the girls’ faces are contorted by their gems, showing their magical girl side. nicely done. mangetsu didn’t end up being that bad a char, and honestly? suigetsu is best girl and deserved better. and the ending too- like, bro, that made me kinda sad. some off points: anna’s mom was a little unrealistic as a mom like woman- please learn to control your child, and, white-haired girl’s sister should have played a bigger part, based on how her parts in the opening were emphasized! (quick note- blue girl, love her, great bad guy, when she dumped anna made me so happy honestly, she is beautiful, and i couldn’t actually decide who i wanted to win between her and suigetsu....)

obviously, the city in the sky is the City Jungle, and being in the sky (cloud 9-esque maybe??) keeps them away from the mostly-abandoned Yellow Wood floor

the lightning probably shows the true face of the City Jungle (go figure)

THEORIES: the bible, the login, and Reflection

NOTE: the only theory that’s possibly accurate is reflection lol so you can skip down

If you read my previous 2 analyses/note posts, you know I’ve been curious about reflections and Bible references. Admittedly, I don’t think the bible stuff will be as prominent (bc it’s religious), but the reflection stuff will probably be focused on.

THE BIBLE

As I said, this stuff likely isn’t accurate, but it would fit really well if they decide to go this route!! It started with the cross earrings/necklaces in previous comebacks (mainly worn by Hyunjin), the fact Hellevator  is HELLevator, and when skz runs together at 3:18 (in Side Effects), they form a cross, with Hyunjin up front.

I’ve also mentioned some bible verses that I found using numbers in the mvs (note that I use the New International Version to quote anything). Most of the ones were mostly irrelevant though. Other people have brought up in another theory that “AD” on the licence plate AD2540 could reference Anno Domini which could mean this was happening in the future, but I double-checked bible verses again.

Book of Matthew, 25:40 = “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

This section is about the King who has separated his “sheep” (those who have done good) to the right and “goats” (those who haven’t done good) to the left. The king says the sheep have done good things for him, but the sheep say they didn’t do those things to him specifically. This verse is referencing that the king knows they have done good to another person, and therefore him.

Obviously, if this were actually what skz were going for, they probably would’ve referenced the actual verse where the king separates his sheep and goats, but regardless, it does bring up the question: where else have we seen left and right, where one is bad?

We’ve seen it a few times: the two roads taken shown side by side when they take the bus or don’t, the two moons, and possibly skz vs the City Jungle.

THE LOGIN

Hyunjin, the “error” (other people’s posts go more in depth), is a focal point in this mv. We’ve also heard about “glitches” Jisung and Felix. So who can disprove that they’re just in a computer? (Jk but listen)

The yellow gui (and other code screens in Miroh) suggest we’re monitoring them. Or maybe the gui is in Hyunjin’s brain?? But I do know the percentages mirror what skz are doing (when they break the gate at 99%) and the screen goes yellow before smth bad happens (which is usually stuff Hyunjin notices).

There also seems to be an error in the code… idk how to explain this well, but the “error” might actually be planned. (I’ll make another post to clarify.)

REFLECTION

I mentioned in my 1st post that the lineup of skz on the rooftops in Miroh and the Yellow Wood teaser were mirrored, except 2 members switched with the 2 right next to them (Jeongin/Minho switched and Jisung/Hyunjin switched—did Hyunjin become the glitch at that point?). This might be a coincidence since it isn’t exact mirroring.

Anyway, there’s definitely some reference to reflection, because of the yellow gui! It might just be a nod to smth but hm. This is where I just dump some ideas

As I said in the Bible paragraphs, there’s references to left/good and right/bad. So reflection could reference:

people you thought were good are actually bad and vice versa (reference to Hyunjin, Jisung, and Felix maybe?)

the choice that’s on the left is good and the right is bad (getting on the bus was a good choice, which technically it was bc they’re sleeping peacefully) or the other way around

The moon on the right is “bad” (discoloured), but maybe actually the better one once reflected

You can also consider our left is their right, but that’s just confusing lol

Honestly, none of these seem right, but the gui is telling someone (likely just us tho) that smth is being reflected, and maybe not in a good way, since we aren’t seeing things the right way, or we’re seeing the bad parallel.

hasn’t thought once that it was ramsay who pretty much suggested him the idea and has never used it to excuse himself

has spent adwd also feeling shit about it and ended up admitting to himself he did a crap thing

meanwhile cersei has ordered to have all of robert’s children murdered, which means at least fifteen kids among which a newborn, and since it happened, do you know what she thought about it?

nothing.

no. she hasn’t thought about them once, she hasn’t regretted it once, she hasn’t given a fuck about them once, and whenever she thinks about someone she’s hurt it’s always IT WAS THEIR FAULT NEVER MINE.

theon does horrible stuff for stupid reasons but has a conscience and realizes at once he’s doing horrible things and he knows it and he feels bad about it, cersei is a narcissist piece of shit who doesn’t think of anyone else bar herself and doesn’t care for anyone else bar herself and doesn’t feel bad about *any* of the crap she’s pulled, hell she doesn’t even know she did it because she doesn’t care.

cersei at six/seven: convinces jaime to do sexual stuff with her to the point her mother separates them, molests tyrion in the cradle to the point where jaime had to told her to stop or he’d die. theon: was on pyke getting abused by his older brothers/asha says he was shy/too soft for their islands, was not molesting anyone.

cersei at twelve: kills her then friend because the poor girl had have a crush on jaime. theon at twelve: was being friends with robb while feeling like shit because he thought ned could kill him any moment and was struggling with being a hostage and far from his family. and certainly didn’t push robb down a well.

cersei at fifteen: LET’S CONVINCE JAIME TO RUIN HIS LIFE AND GET INTO THE KINGSGUARD WHILE PLANNING TO MARRY RHAEGAR AND DUMP HIM! theon at fifteen: most likely having a lot of sex but that’s it.

also, cersei killed her friend because the poor girl dared ask maggy if she’d ever marry jaime, like, SHE HAD A FUCKING TEENAGE CRUSH ON JAIME AND CERSEI KILLED HER BECAUSE SHE DARED HAVE A CRUSH ON A GUY SHE THINKS SHE OWNS.

theon’s arrogance is a defense mechanism pretty much - he postures all the time. cersei’s really like that. theon’s jealous because he wants to be included and have a nice family the way the starks have because he didn’t have it at home and he feels emotionally neglected, cersei’s jealous of anyone else being in her spotlight. which is NOT the same thing. everyone in these books has bad judgment but theon takes bad decisions because he feels backed into a corner, cersei doesn’t even realize she’s taking bad decisions because she doesn’t think SHE is capable of taking bad decisions, while theon’s perfectly aware that he’s not doing the right thing from half of acok on. he does that anyway because he thinks he has no choice, but he has a lot more self-awareness than cersei has. theon’s obsessed with social status because he clings to that to construct a sense of identity, cersei’s obsessed with social status because she wants power.

a lot of people behave sort of similarly for wildly different reasons and those reasons are actually fundamental when deciding if you like a character or not.

what theon’s torture did was forcing him to face his issues in depth and make him figure out what he eventually really wanted the moment he was stripped bare, but do you think that if he never went to pyke and could have stayed with robb he’d have done the same shit he did in winterfell? no, because theon craved validation from other people, cersei just wants to rule other people. what theon is at the end of adwd is what he always had the potential of being but torture didn’t make him better. he didn’t change because he was tortured. I’ve written tons of meta on why theon at the end of adwd is most likely theon at his most genuine, but if you paid any attention to adwd, you’d have figured out that the moment he has the realization is the one I quoted above. most likely, if robb genuinely liked him and wanted to be friends with him, given robb’s preference in friends... then robb must have seen the guy who saves jeyne, not the guy who kills children. and maybe someone who saves jeyne jumping out of the window is not cersei ie ‘I will send my younger kid to whip someone so he becomes TOUGHER’ and such other amenities, or even better, ‘I’ll completely ignore that my brother has emotional needs and a personality of his own because I have to fuck someone who’s the male version of me because I’m that kind of narcissist’ but hey, totally the same person, right?

good fucking grief anon, cersei’s an asshole and she’s been since the moment she was born and it didn’t take posturing, theon’s turned into one because of crappy upbringing circumstances and who did a bunch of crap to be accepted by others, not to run the fucking seven kingdoms, and theon’s actually had a character evolution that couldn’t have been possible if he had always been an asshole, while cersei hasn’t because she’s been an asshole from the moment she was fucking born.

also, a bunch of theon fans actually love cersei as a character and they love her also because of those similarities and they find her an interesting character, while I personally can’t wait for the moment she fucking dies already and theon outlives her and most other people in these books, and that’s entirely my prerogative because they aren’t the same character, but the fact that *I* hate cersei doesn’t mean all theon fans do. 

but lmao, ‘if theon fans were honest’. good fucking grief theon fans are the least apologetic subfandom in here and we never glossed on the fact that theon is a trash fave, where the hell do you live?

idk, I love theon because he’s imvho the best written and conceived character in these books all around and he has a compelling storyline that puts together a lot of themes I love (redemption, identity arcs, subversion of the traitor arc and so on), and cersei to me is the fucking least compelling main character in these books because I don’t give a fuck about someone who’s completely bonkers, cares nothing for anyone but herself and whose chapters I find annoying as fuck because her storyline is not what interests me in a fictional character in the slightest. you want male cersei, look at balon, not theon.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, just to be clear:

I never talk about her because I know a lot of ppl I follow like her

Seras thought her whole body would combust, it was like someone dumped a large basin of ice cold water over her head, and not only was she left wide eyed, but stunned, similar to a deer in the headlights about get rundown by dead-arse drunk, negligent driver.

 Originally, she had come down to her master's room - or dungeon to inform him that Sir Integra wanted to see him, however,  that task was completely forgotten , seeing that her virgin eyes were currently beholding her Master’s very nude body.

 Her body was already hot, clammy and sticky thanks to the extreme heat of the summer weather, but now her body burned for an entirely different reasons and a reason she should be concerned about, well at least a towel was covering his-well,his-his -um - man parts- oh dear!

He looked at her, passively, barely blinking an eye,

“ What is it, police girl.” having a stroke seemed very plausible right about now, and very welcomed too.

“ …..uhhh- um-uhhhhh.” she stammered, her vision was hazy, unfocused.

He quirked a brow at her, baffled for a moment by her lack of being able to iterate a simple, complete sentence before it hit him.

“ Whatever, is the matter, Seras?” she desperately was trying to focus her attention on his face, and not down below. He of course noticed, the bastard, grinned inwardly at his servant's obvious discomfort.

“ Uhhh, master, your, uh,  your clothes  .”

“ What was that police girl, couldn't hear you, speak up.”

“ You did too hear me! Don’t lie.” she hissed.

“ We're defiant this evening.” he felt his smirk widen, revealing his sharp teeth, that were so white, that they glistened in the dreary room. 

“BECAUSEYOURNOTWEARINGANYCLOTHES!”

“ Am aware.”

“ Then-”

“ Then?”

“ Why aren't you-”

   “ Clothed. Ah, yes, well, I was in the middle of completing certain activities before you came barging into my private chambers.”

  Her face blanched, and she gaped at him like a fish out of water. Whatever words were trying to come out were choked and strangled by her own disbelief and utter horror. But of course, why is she surprised anyways, though her master was vampire of high degree, he was still, but a man. So, of course- she gulped- he would have - have certain urges……….. but still - still it was- ugh- trying to imagine-no-no-no-no.

   It was like a child trying to turn a blissful eye to the fact they their parent’s have a sex life. Not that she consider her master a father figure, shudders, she doubted that man had a single fraternal bone in his body, but it was still private- intrusive, it was odd and it was making her feel odd things. Odd things she should be ashamed of. 

“ It was joke, police girl.” He deadpanned. That was hardly a joke now, the damage was already done, and her imagination would be running rampant for hours , thinking of things she should not be musing about.

“ Has your brain stopped functioning properly.” 

“ M-my brain is -w-w-working” she swallows hard “.........fine.” 

“ Anyways, is there something you want?” Is he serious! Seras just wanted to leave, and forget this ever happened. Why, is he being so-lax about this? He’s screwing with me that’s why, just my luck, the lousy bastard. 

“ Uh- Sir Integra wants to see you.” 

“ Why?” 

“ I don’t know, ask her.” 

“ Why didn’t she just summon me.” 

“ I. Don’t. Know. Maybe she doesn’t want you popping up into her office naked as the day you were born, she’s known you longer than I have.” 

Alucard snorts “ I maybe bold, Police girl, but not that bold, I rather keep certain parts of my anatomy intact.” 

It was Seras’ turn to snort, this is the same man who encourages his enemies to blow his own brains out , but also takes great enjoyment in being blasted to pieces. Yet, is afraid of his man bits getting mutilated. The moment she uttered those words-her eyes acted as if they had a mind of their own, and were dangerously peering down his neck line to his bare chest, which to her surprised was covered in scars. They were like zigzags, like trenches of missing flesh. 

“ See something interesting?” 

“ uh-those - those are scars?” 

“ hmm,.” one had absentmindedly caressed the ancient wounds, as if he were re-tracing the moment in time that he got them. 

“ War.”

“ I don’t understand.” she tilted her head

“ I got these long before I become a nosferatu.” 

“ Oh.” 

“ Not all wounds heal, after you turn.” 

“ Guess that it explains, why I still-have.....” she whisper trails off, a flash of sadness fills her sapphire eyes.  Alucard got the hint and decided to change the topic back to himself again.

“ While, I was human I fought many battles, some were victorious and some I barely made it out with my head still attached to my body. But all in the same I never got out  unscathed. 

“ I couldn’t imagine. I mean I was on a police squad-but I’m pretty sure it was nothing compared to up-close and personal battles with knives and swords. “   

“ Nowadays, all you have to do is shoot your opponent in the heart an it’s over, back then they didn’t always die quickly, sometimes it took hours of choking on your own intestines before death. 

Seras grimaced “ Then again I was kind of the lucky ones, I didn’t really get the chance to see some of the gruesome stuff-not since-anyways.........” here they were  having a in depth discussion about death and would have enjoyed if it weren’t for the fact that he’s still in the nude without a care in the word. 

“ Can you at least put some pants on, Master.” she grumbled.

“ I thought you were enjoying the view.” 

“MASTER!” 

“ Very well, there’s not need to shout.”  

“Please don’t turn around!”, Seras balks, as she gets a lesson in male anatomy that she obviously didn’t sign up for. Her face drained of color, as her cheeks burned bright firetruck red, as her eyes darted any where else -but-but-but-her brained is definetely fried, she can’t even finish that sentence, while metaphorical steam rolls out her ears and the situation was only made worse when she heard her master dark chuckling. 

He was purposely getting a rise out of her, Bloody hell, has he no shame. Obviously not. Seras wondered how anyone can not be embarrassed by being butt-naked in front of a stranger. Then again they were in no way strangers and this is Alucard she’s talking about. Though out of curiosity wondered if there was anything that didn’t flustered said man. Probably not, even if there were, he would never admit that to her of all people. 

How long had she been standing here staring at some crack in the wall, she wanted to turn around, this angle was putting a crook in her neck, but she was too afraid to check if he was dress. 

“ How long are you going to keep standing there, Police girl?” amusement was apparent in his voice and irked her nerve endings. However, she mistakenly takes that as a sign that he was fully clothed. 

“ I-MASTER!” she quickly clamped her fingers over eyes. Heat was not just radiating in her face now, but all over her body, but far more intense.

“ What?” it would have been innocent, if it weren’t for the slight mockery in his tone. 

“ Your clothes.” she squeaked. 

“ And?” 

“ C-clothes,-I thought you were going to put s-some -clothes on.” 

“ I was, but  I changed my mind.” 

“ Have you not any shame.” she hissed.

“ No.” he smirked, devilishly. 

Seras groaned in her hands, what did she expect. “Your truly, truly awful, Master.” 

“ And you’re a prude, my dear police girl.” 

“ I am not a prude.” 

“ If your not then open you’re eyes.” 

“ ABSOLUTELY NOT!” 

He only threw his head back and laughed, which only made her tremble with even more second-hand embarrassment, more then she could honestly bare, she squeezed her fingers even tighter, not knowing what else to do-until she felt something looming over her.

She felt larger hands trying to pry her smaller ones from her face. 

“ Don’t be stubborn, Seras.” he whispered, using his native accent to catch her attention, which worked, her grip loosened, as he peered up at him. Sometimes she forgets how much bigger he is to her. He was giant compared to her and for some reason she found it to be-a turn on? 

“ W-what?” she didn’t like the way that he was looking at her, she knew that expression very well, it was the one, where she couldn’t read what he was thinking. Hard, passive, and intense. She gulped, as he moved her hands away from her face, holding her wrists in a iron grip,while he gazed at her, searching. There was a long silence, where neither party said anything , Seras had no idea what he was feeling right about now, but she on the other hand felt her rib cage restrict, and if her heart were still beating it would have been slamming into her chest.

 Though it felt like hours, only seconds ticked by, his face moved closer to her’s to the point where their lips barely touched, she could feel his warm breath caress her face and more importantly her lips,  but then he pulled back without warning., letting go of her wrists in the process.  She wanted to bolt from the room, but her legs were too shaky to move, least she fall face first on the cold, hard floor. She suffered enough awkwardness for one day, that and she almost forgot that he was still in the nude. 

“ Um....” 

“ Yes.” Though he wasn’t all in her face anymore, he was still personally and uncomfortable close. 

“ I-I’ve got stuff to do.” 

“ Stuff? Oh, what stuff is that?” 

“ Y’know-stuff-stuff.” Her eyes were frantic, searching for a way out. She licked her lips, her mouth was painfully dry. He stepped closer again, this time his bare chest lightly pressed against her amble bosom, which made her cheeks burn a hundred degrees hotter. 

“ What this?” he tilted her chin up at a weird angle with one finger, it was there that Seras realized that her Master wasn’t in the habit of cutting his nails. Then again he probably did it on purpose “ You seem quite flustered, police girl,.” 

She shut her eyes to keep herself from seeing stars “ N-nothing.” 

“ Am I too close.” His accent was thick, it was almost hard to understand what he was actually saying, however and  unfortunately it did weird things to her head and he knew, apparently. 

“ M-maybe.” she inhaled unsteadily, as her fingers digged into the flesh of her palms that laid tensed at her sides. 

“ Is that a confession.” 

“ I-I don’t know, what is it too you, if it is.” 

“ Hhmmm, Would you like to know, Draga Meu.” 

“ I-” 

“Seras! Seras, where are you!  It shouldn’t be taking-you-you “ Of all the things Integra never wanted to see in her short life time, seeing Alucard naked was among the list and to her misfortune, she just had to come to the basement, to find her Servant in his birthday suit, presumably seducing her other servant. 

Fortunately, for Seras someone did come to her rescue, but unfortunately it had to be Sir Integra of all people. 

However, this time it was Alucard’s turn to balk, she’d never seen his skin pale that shade of white before. Though, Seras couldn’t make fun, seeing that was in just as much a compromising position as he was, though it could been worse, it could have been Pip or Walter walking in on them.

Needless, to say the day did end somewhat eventful, if that includes getting chewed out by your master’s master for taking to long to accomplish a simple task and then watching her master get verbally assaulted by very irate Integra was certainly entertaining, a bit of karmic justice for putting her in such a humiliating position.  

A/N: This was a really strange one-shot/drabble. For whatever reason I headcanon Alucard having a very lax attitude towards nudity. Also, headcanon that Seras is tuned on not just by his voice, but his accent as well.  Comments are welcomed.

ok really long post ahead, sorry for mobile users since i dont think the spoiler break works on mobile iirc

i finally finished the main quest for fo4.. um.... was that it?? that was kinda my first reaction lol. ok i have SO many thoughts as i always do when i finish a game.. maybe more for this one tho

so i ended up doing both the minutemen and bos endings because they split relatively late in the story so i just made two separate saves... they were basically the same except i thought following liberty prime was kinda fun lol. i liked watching him pick up a behemoth and then just throwing it to the ground

so now that i’ve like... finished the game.... i guess i can see why people complain that fo4 is more of an fps than an rpg

like.... i’ve dumped a ton of hours into this game, but that’s mostly because i’ve spent a lot of time building settlements lol. besides that, the story does seem to be lacking a bit. i think it definitely had potential, but nothing was really fleshed out that well... like if i try to think back on what i did, i’m like.. ??

maybe part of that is because four main factions was a little ambitious? i just feel like there wasn’t much opportunity to actually get to know each faction and like actually feel like you were involved with them

1) minutemen - i mean, you got a shitton of radiant quests from preston (which drove me crazy very early on and got modded out)... and then what? you claim settlements and that’s about it. reclaiming the castle is as deep as the story gets. besides that all you have is radiant quests

also there were like... zero named characters besides preston who were actually really involved with the minutement. like there was ronnie shaw but she just ends being a merchant later, and i didn’t even get the proper armory quest from her because my game glitched out. so basically she was just a unique merchant for me

and like... who else is there?? there’s the sanctuary crew and some named settlers but none of them are really part of the “minutemen.” so like you didn’t really get to talk to members of the faction and stuff and actually feel like you were immersed in the story. like i know that the story is that you’re rebuilding the minutemen so there’s supposed to be no one but preston, but later on as you claim settlements and expand the minutement and stuff there’s still nothing... no new story, quest, npcs... you have to do some dungeon clearing quests for some of the named settlers but that’s literally it.

i liked their general “for the people” thing but like... they never really expanded on it... they did end up being one of the two factions that i sided with because of their cause but i just think the story (or lack thereof, really) with them was pretty bland

2) railroad - well i was considering joining them very early on cause i do think their cause is decent, i like deacon, and i accidentally spoiled for myself that danse is a synth (i like danse because i mean you know me and my beef)... but then i felt like they were a little too focused on the synths. like that was literally just their entire cause. and i just felt like that was just too narrow.

and you met these characters that you really just.... met and then nothing ever happened later with them! like high rise, mister tims, idk what the point of drummer boy was, etc..

and again there were just a ton of radiant quests... at least they were all finite, but like there was what? helping that one safehouse (forgot the name), mila quests, and pam’s caches. the ticonderoga quest was kinda interesting but i wish there was something more besides “here’s ticonderoga. oh whoops it gets destroyed later. haha!”

3) institute - well i disliked them right off the bat because they were the ones who not only MURDERED MY HUSBAND but also KIDNAPPED AND BRAINWASHED MY CHILD (yes i consider it brainwashing)????? like come on. i take this stuff very personally man. it’s the same reason why i joined the stormcloaks in skyrim (before realizing what a bunch of racist assholes they are but.... i digress) cause i was like WHY tf would i join a group that tried to execute me with absolutely zero cause

so i’m just like why would i join a group that murdered my husband (right in front of my eyes i might add) and kidnapped my child. hello??? like yeah i hated the fact that they gave you a goddamn baby in the first place, but since i had it i was like WELL I AM OUTRAGED THAT THEY DID THIS TO MY CHILD.

then there was the whole deal with them actually taking real people (and presumably murdering them) and replacing them with synth copies. i HATED that a lot and it was a big turnoff on top of all of my personal grievances against them. their elitist attitude towards the commonwealth was annoying as fuck as well as their manufacturing of gen 3 synths for what was basically slave labor. also there were like random conversations that would occur between scientists and synths and the scientists were such assholes.

oooooh and the part where you ask shaun why he decided to let you out of your cryo pod and he’s like “well... i suppose that i just wanted to see what would happen” and i was like BITCH WHAT?????? EXCUSE ME?????? THAT’S YOUR REASON?? 

like the shaun/father thing was an interesting twist in the story... but it def was not enough to make me want to join the institute. esp with that craphole reason that he gave me for letting me out of the cryo pod. and like the dude is basically a stranger to you, why tf would you just join the institute bc he’s “”””family””””? i suppose they tried to make it a more difficult dilemma by really trying to push your character’s story in the “i’m looking for my son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” direction before you actually find out what happened to shaun, but i didnt find that a very compelling plot point in the first place.... so it had pretty much no bearing on my decision

also. the synth shaun. he made the synth shaun which is like super weird and a little creepy. like this kid’s never gonna age.... i mean 50 years from now he’s gonna be a 60 y-o in a 10 y-o’s body!!!!!!!! who tf thought that was a good idea?? i mean i’m on the “gen 3 synths are truly sentient” train cause the game basically does nothing to show you otherwise. you have institute scientists telling you that they aren’t, but literally everything in the game shows you that they are. also danse

and then their cause... they say they’re the “best hope for humanity” and stuff but like what are they actually doing to help humanity. the only beneficial thing they did was create gmos like that huge pumpkin (while replacing roger ww in the process which as i mentioned before was something i hated). besides that, wtf are they doing besides hiding away in their blindingly white laboratories experimenting w/ synths?? 

anyway yeah i hated the institute but i guess in terms of “story” they did a little better than the railroad and minutemen. but they honestly got a helping hand from the fact that shaun was involved with them and a large part of the story early on was looking around for information about shaun and being able to ask npcs about the institute. however once you proceeded past a certain point they also fell into a very boring routine of having a handful of radiant quests available and not much else involving them

4) bos - well.... i def felt like they were super culty when i first went onto the prydwen. and i really dont like their stance on gen 3s and non-feral ghouls. but i do like that theyre out and about clearing the commonwealth of super mutants, ferals, and raiders lol. 

i really really hate the whole danse thing tho and how close-minded they are about him :( i did see that there was actually cut content where you could challenge maxson and danse would get his rank back and i kinda wish that they actually implemented that. i dont really want the elder role but i’d like the chance to do something where you could shift the bos’s opinion on gen 3s, even if only slightly... like THAT would be a good story element, come on! 

but w/e. i really didnt like them at first but i like their aesthetic compared to everyone else and their general cause (at least theyre not like opening fire on the slog, right... ?) ..

anyway i might just stick with their ending as my “main” playthrough cause afaict they’re not much diff from the minutemen ending except i get the sentinel rank, and you actually have some named people that you can interact with about your choice.

ok im actually really tired of writing this post... i actually have so many more thoughts haha but i dunno if i’ll be able to get them all out because as if on cue i’m getting tired around midnight.. anyway

yeah so the story was eh and i wish it went more in depth. like, even though i wasnt super fond of fnv’s story, i did think it was more immersive and detailed... i think fo4 had a lot of potential but sadly didn’t quite deliver. tbh i think the game couldve gone without the railroad if four factions really did just spread them too thin while in development.

like i think the part of the story with kellogg was good... the whole thing about trying to find the identity of this guy, searching his home, searching for him, looking through his memories, etc was pretty interesting. i liked how we were able to see his backstory and something about him that wasn’t just “dude who murdered my husband.” like that was all good stuff! but the story REALLY deteriorated after that... i mean you just end up having to kill the guy and then he’s just out of the story completely.

oh and like related to that--what was that whole deal with nick speaking in kellogg’s voice briefly after you finish in the memory den??? why would they just throw in a line like that and not expand on it at all???? that bugged me SO MUCH because again there was so much potential there!!! if kellogg had somehow gotten into nick’s mind you could be presented with so many new options. like how do you get him out? can you get him out? who do you go to for help? etc etc etc NOT JUST SOME THROWAWAY LINE THAT ACTUALLY DOES NOTHING AHHH

speaking of which. fo4 seems to do that a LOT. like maybe it’s recency bias bc i really dont remember all the details of fnv to be able to compare, but i feel like fo4 has a ton of little throwaway things that are interesting details but aren’t expanded on at all. like not even a little bit. i think there needs to be a certain balance between details and mini stories... like fo4 dangled SO many of these little details in your face that you just never got to expand on at all.. i love an interesting world where you can discover things that dont really have an impact on the main story or anything but these scraps just drove me crazy.

also there were like... no vaults??? i feel like fnv had a lot more... fo4 has vault 95 for cait (and a kinda boring purpose/story imo). the vault of triggermen where you find nick. the vault for refining human genes. vault 81. and that’s it.. i felt like i spent a lot more time in vaults in fnv? and they had some creepier stories/experiments too

SETTLEMENTS. LORD HELP ME. again, a great concept with so much potential but poor execution. i really enjoyed settlements--with mods. vanilla settlements are just so horribly lacking. for one thing not being able to clean up your settlement is just terrible. you really would just have to leave piles of trash, garbage, debris, 200-YEAR-OLD SKELETONS, etc, lying around your settlement!!!!! where you’re supposed to have people living!!

settlers themselves also have some pretty terrible ai. theyre stupid af. their pathing is godawful. i am extremely proud of them when they actually are able to successfully navigate a structure i built because it is such a goddamn struggle for them! like they’re literally coded to take the shortest possible straight line path so i get tons of them walking into walls trying to get to their destination instead of walking around them, going through doorways, using stairs etc (yes theyre all navmeshed)... it’s actually so aggravating

also settlements themselves are incredibly and frustratingly buggy. the resources getting messed up in your pip boy bug is super annoying. there’s a shit ton of other bugs with them that i’m just too tired to list but i’m like ahhh god i feel like i’m playing a beta version of this shit! also what’s up with them spawning on top of buildings in sanctuary?

ok yeah i have a lot of crticisms for the game so it may not seem like i enjoyed it but i actually did. i think the story was decent up until after you finished kellogg’s part, cause after that it just got really boring (which is lame because seriously, the story gets boring after you can start decided which faction/s you want to join??)

but mods def contributed a lot to my enjoyment, esp my settlement mods... like most of my mods are settlement mods lol. so like... if i played vanilla fo4 i do doubt that i’d have enjoyed it as much. i do actually like the fps aspect of it, but i think there are too many places that are overloaded with enemies.. so you’re constantly fighting shit. it gets kind of annoying after a while.

OH THAT JUST REMINDED ME. GUNNERS. another thing that had potential but ended up just being... ??? raiders but fancier??? you could literally switch out all the gunners for raiders and nothing would change. when i first encountered them i was really excited cause i thought it was a new side faction but they’re literally just... raiders. but fancy. it’s disappointing af. there’s no story behind them... you can get into gunners plaza and find some holotapes from the leader and some members but then there’s nothing else! you don’t ever get to find out what the story is behind all of it! again with dangling some details in front of your face and then just never expanding on it at all. ugh gunners were seriously a big disappointment for me.
