Hi, I'm the Raileon anon from a while back. Thank you for answering my ask! I loved reading your thoughts, and I hope you don't mind if I ask you for some more. You mentioned Leon and Raihan were both fascinating characters to you separately as well, and I wanted to ask why you felt Raihan was fascinating? I have my own reasons ofc, but I'd be delighted to hear yours as well.
I absolutely never mind, thank you for the ask!! (even if it takes me a while to answer things sldjfksjf). genuinely I love talking about these characters, all the SWSH characters (and SuMo) really, and talking about Raihan is top tier for me. under the cut because it's both long and I have included images from the manga as little Raihan treats :3
in regards to Raihan, what a character, yeah? when I got this ask I immediately went into chat with @beammeupbroadway and we had the following exchange (she's the Furby icon, I'm the first message):
and to elaborate a little, we're all introduced to Raihan in the framing of him being Leon's rival, and we're not really reintroduced to him until midway through the game. so for a while we're left with this impression that Raihan is the hotheaded rival to Leon, setting them up with the same sort of framing as like Hop vs Bede (which is more a rivalry than with the player I argue) or even Red vs Blue (certainly with the Charizard and the color imagery at play with both Raihan and Leon's designs). Raihan is, at his core, a peek at what someone looks like when they grow up in the shadow of someone else.
it's stated in game he has different interests, hobbies, a career, but he's still Leon's rival Raihan. where his job as a Gym Leader and his work with the Hammerlocke Vault serve the narrative purpose of bringing the player closer to Leon and closer to solving the mystery of the Darkest Day, rather than things that allow us a better view of Raihan. not to discredit those moments, because they absolutely do allow us as to see more of Raihan, but I guess I want to argue that the game just uses them as a jumping off point to get to Leon. even Raihan's accomplishments as a Gym Leader and battler are framed within the context of him being so good he could be Champion of another region, but he can't beat Leon. from a world building and audience perspective I think it's interesting to see, but man, picturing that as how he's painted in Galar, in universe? where all of these insanely amazing accomplishments are pushed aside to market himself as Leon's rival I think genuinely ruined his self image, his self esteem, and the way he views anything he does. Raihan's social media presence got started because of Leon, even if he sometimes takes random pictures of sand storms, and the only thing removed from Leon is his love of fashion and history, but we don't even get to see a lot of that as the audience/player of the game because it's not relevant to the story in most cases, and definitely isn't relevant to Leon. this was definitely a little rambly, but at least right here I just think that like Raihan being literally overshadowed by Leon makes him fascinating to rotate around like a rotisserie chicken, because you take one whiff of that guy and you can tell he was spiced up with self loathing and angst strong enough to turn the average character into a straight up villain
ties to Leon aside, the little things about Raihan I adore ARE those little hobbies he has. fashion, history, social media all are super interesting, and ignoring the Gym Trainer battle with WEATHER EFFECTS INSIDE THE TAPESTRY VAULT aside it's clear he is a trusted expert on the matter. Sonia goes to him, even if it's a way to get the player closer to Leon Raihan is the one who grants access to the vault, and anyone who loves tapestries is immediately boosted in my books
his characterization in the manga is really cool, and I adore manga Raihan a lot. it's actually when I really fell in love with his character because he's given a lot of really neat moments, where he's kind of this key player in having everything come together. also he was a trouble maker when he was younger!!! which I think is a logical reaction to being pitted against the literal undefeated Champion for so long. but, allow me to picture that below:
I also love him spraying himself in the face with a potion after being poisoned by Eternatus in the manga. like yeah he's confused, but literally no other character is brought up, only Raihan which is funny to me
also him and Piers are just buddies!! which is neat, especially since in the post game of the base SWSH titles they're shown not to really have interacted that much
he's also super polite to Melony (my beloved Mummy Melony scene), and he's overall pretty fleshed out, with being both serious and goofy, while having this odd tension with Leon when it comes to serious moments
like it shows a lot of complicated things brewing under the surface for him, even in the manga, and I love how it keeps his characterization in tact, while expanding on it in a way that feels natural
I think in short, there's an argument to be made that Raihan could have been left as this one dimensional rival to Leon whose only purpose to push the player along their journey. a road block as a Gym Leader, a helper as the keeper of the vault, but nothing more. and yet he's a pretty fleshed out character, who has other stuff going for him. he could be so many things, and yet he's Raihan, the dragon guy who loves fashion, is a bit silly, but also takes things as serious as they need to be taken. who had a bit of a rebellious streak when he was younger, to the point Rose knows about it in depth. where, in game, he can flip from smiling like :3 to hunching over in the stadium yelling out moves. he's cool, like undeniably, but also not, and I love that skdjfklsfd. I think Raihan is a testament to the subtle ways the Pokemon writers can dish out characterization without explicitly writing things in, and I love him for it
#sorry it took like forever to respond I literally got the flu and also was finish some fic stuff so whoops sdkjfskldf#but as some additional stuff he's just a sweet guy like his full art trainer card shows him signing stuff for kids#and man that's just cute and sweet to me#there's also other posts talking about Raihan's anger issues that I don't want to ignore but they aren't original to me so I'll highlight#yeah I think he has them and I think it's implied he struggles with it#especially when he hits the wall in the anime and stuff#so it's interesting how many multitudes are packed into this guy#I also can't recommend the SWSH arc of the Adventures manga enough like it's just interesting even if I think they softball Rose too much#but I think it's worth a read and definitely fleshes out some of the characters a lot more#hence why it's featured here for Raihan time#gym leader raihan#pokemon swsh#thank you for letting me talk about my favs it means a bunch <3

Hey uh anyone that's been buying pokemon cards recently (very recently, like raging surf/ancient roar and paradox rift) notice print lines? My Japanese raging surf snorunt and my English iron bundle etb promo has print lines. They're very very light and you have to be right up to them to notice. They not as bad as the ruby/sapphire/vintage era, but I didn't see any cards from swsh/sumo/etc with print lines. So maybe check your full illustration cards and tell me if you see anything

this is a bit random but do you have any advice for someone who wants to try shiny hunting? ive always wanted to shiny hunt but idk anything about it and some tutorials are really confusing ;_;
oh i LOVE talking about shiny hunting do not ever worry about bothering me asking about it LOL
i totally get you on the confusing tutorials though! it definitely helps knowing someone who is experienced in it to help you figure out where to begin bc it's a very overwhelming hobby lol (esp if numbers stress you out. pointing to myself bc numbers stress me out)
under the cut bc i anticipate this being an essay
let's start by explaining the concept of full odds shiny hunting. full odds shiny hunting is where you take any measures necessary to keep the odds of a shiny appearing at the base rate.
in generations 1-5, these odds are 1/8192. in gens 6 and on, they are 1/4096.
particularly in the newer generations, the games include different mechanics and minigames where you can increase your shiny odds to as low as 1/100!
full odds shiny hunters do NOT use any of these mechanics to improve shiny odds.
people will hunt for full odds shinies for a variety of reasons. some people prefer it because it makes their shinies feel more special, others just like the journey and experience of finding that super rare shiny in the wild after several months or more of hunting.
a shiny is a shiny though so do not feel bad if you don't like full odds hunting! it's all about the journey finding your shiny, and the worth you assign to it at the end of the day! a full odds shiny is not inherently more valuable than one caught at 1/100 odds. it's about how much YOU cherish and appreciate your shiny catches! :]
a good gateway to full odds hunting at 1/8192 odds is definitely soft resetting for a shiny starter pokemon in heartgold/soulsilver. this is the only pokemon game where you can check if all three pokemon are shiny on the same screen, when you are picking out your starter! since you're essentially getting 3 encounters per soft reset, you have a better chance of finding a shiny starter.
i love hunting for starters bc then you get to play the rest of the game with your shiny too! and in hgss, it follows you around wherever you go :D
a good gateway for 1/4096 full odds hunting is horde encounters in XY/ORAS! catch a pokemon with the move Sweet Scent, then repeatedly have it use the move in tall grass. every time you use it, a horde of 5 pokemon will appear! again, since you're seeing more pokemon, the encounters seriously fly by.
now let's move onto reduced odds hunting!
starting in gen 5, shiny charm was introduced. shiny charm boosts your odds of finding a shiny by 3. (3/8192 or 3/4096) you receive shiny charm by completing your national pokedex in gens 5-6, and the regional pokedex in gens 7+. in bdsp however, you need to complete the national pokedex to get it.
shiny charm does NOT impact certain encounters, such as gift pokemon (the fossils in swsh and type:null in sumo/usum are examples of gift pokemon), dynamax or tera raid dens, traded pokemon and more.
also in bdsp, shiny charm literally only impacts bred pokemon for some reason??? so i don't recommend getting it bc it is a PAIN to receive and does literally nothing
certain methods will also increase your shiny odds as well though! (these will usually stack with shiny charm odds!)
USUM/SUMO:
sos chaining is by far the best and most popular way of shiny hunting for a lot of people. if you've played through those games, you know that wild pokemon can sometimes call for help, summoning another pokemon of their species or evolution line.
basically, if you let them keep calling for help in this manner, the more pokemon that appear, the better your shiny odds. the numbers are slightly different from the original sun/moon and ultra sun/ultra moon and for that reason i somewhat favor usum.
in ultra sun/ultra moon, you can get your odds to 1/315 without shiny charm or 1/273 with shiny charm after achieving a chain of 30 pokemon!
the method behind this one is simple. false swipe the starting pokemon, then use an adrenaline orb. then you just keep knocking out the pokemon that are summoned.
just be sure to either prepare the right team for sos chaining OR periodically replace the pokemon calling for help. bc it WILL run out of pp eventually and struggle to death.
MASUDA METHOD:
masuda method is a shiny hunting method introduced in gen 4! (dppt) it was coded by junichi masuda (hence the name), and has been a mechanic in all games since.
masuda method revolves around breeding pokemon. if you breed pokemon from two different games that were played in two different languages, the odds of a shiny pokemon being bred are increased to 1/683 without shiny charm, and i THINK 1/512 with shiny charm (in gen 6+)
if i bred a vulpix i caught myself in an english speaking game with a vulpix from game played in japanese, this would result in the masuda method lowering my shiny odds.
the most common way to perform this method is by obtaining a foreign ditto though bc ditto can breed with anything! (if you need help getting your hands on one lmk, i have my sources :eyes:)
there are also other methods in newer games, such as mass outbreaks in sv/arceus, chaining in swsh (it sucks tho dont recommend), chain fishing in gens 6+7, dexnav in ORAS, pokeradar in dppt and bdsp and dynamax adventures! (+ SO MANY more)
i think ive already written too much tho so lmk if you have any further question >:D

Okay, man, I need to talk about this ending because it has been revolving in my head for like the last 24 hours. Spoilers under the cut, for Pokémon Scarlet/Violet with a few parallels with FFXIV Shadowbringers.
(Reposting from my RP blog because this probably should have been on my main to begin with.)
The whole idea of a "quest for paradise" being the Professor’s motivation makes me wonder a lot about what we know and what we learn in the postgame. Mainly though, I want to say: This reminds me a lot of the story of FFXIV Shadowbringers.
A quest for paradise is the ultimate thing to give to your antagonist, because endless peace and a total absence of conflict means stagnation. Lack of growth. Death of the soul and of adventure. It is the perfect foil to the protagonists in a story about making the most out of your life because your time is limited. (A theme the game already very much addresses, with various degrees of success, through characters such as Ryme, Grusha, Penny, Pepper, Nemona, and even Larry.)
So, the game was great with that, and we haven’t had this level of nuance in storytelling since SuMo (before USUM took a sledgehammer to everything that made the Lusamine plot interesting and SwSh literally pussied out of addressing literally any of its themes; thank you TPCi) so I am absolutely delighted.
Now, for the speculative stuff: I am a hundred percent convinced the machine was actually the Disk-like Pokémon from the Book. Or at the very least, that it was drawing power from it.
Beyond the Professor / Emet-Selch comparison, I did not just randomly bring up Shadowbringers just now: The world of FFXIV has a thing called “Primal Summoning” that makes it so literally any God or made-up mythical figure can become real as long as there are people who believe in it. And these summonings can yield different results in accordance to what the summoner is thinking about.
You see where I’m going with that, right.
Between Scarlet and Violet, the mere difference of the Professor’s interests could very well have been the only factor in determining which era the machine connected to. So, knowing these things, this had me thinking, what if this Angelic Pokémon was based on this exact idea? What if it was actually creating exactly what its master wants, from their own imagination, instead of pulling it from the far future or the distant past?
Hell, Slither Wing and Iron Moth could be two different interpretations of the very same creature for all we know.
It seems a bit too convenient that Cyclizard was the author’s signature Pokémon, and for its Paradox versions to be the first thing the professors pulled out of their respective machines. Because they were so obsessed with these books and its author themselves.
It would also explain why, coincidentally, every Pokémon they managed to call from another era fit one what the author of the Book had already seen. And that would also explain why, in Scarlet, the Paradox Pokémon from Violet are just considered ridiculous urban legends and vice-versa.
I do not believe the Sword of Justice “chimera” we see in the book is here by coincidence either. This is explicitly a Pokémon that doesn’t exist that someone made up in their mind. So if it shows up in the future, this will definitely add water to this mill.
I think that would make this Angel Pokémon the missing link between Arceus, Mew and the Creation Trio, perhaps. Or maybe even the very egg Arceus came from. Who can tell. There’s also the whole connection to the Ultimate Weapon I have not given any thoughts to, but that’s still on my mind.
I don't expect the DLC to confirm or deny anything. (And it would be pretty depressing if they outright confirmed the AI just got eaten by that Pokémon). This will all stay speculative at best, the way we are still left theorycrafting regarding stuff like the RKS project, Macro Cosmos’s ties to the royalists and what Volo’s deal was.
EDIT: Well I've been told by Mako this is apparently a popular theory already, so, thank you Final Fantasy LMAO

I really love when starters have a theme: XY was Fantasy classes (a mage, a paladin and a rouge), SWSH was things related to England (Football, rock music and james bond) and SV is performers (a singer, a magician and a carnival dancer). I don't know if SUMO had anything like that, I at least can't see it.
I don't think there's BEEN a theme before XY. XY really was the introduction to the starter themes.
And I've been LOVING IT.

okay tbh i don't understand why there are so many different abbreviations for pokemon scarlet and violet like scvi, scarvio, scarvi, scavio... like i thought the reason we did SUMO was because we didn't want those games to be known as "pokemon s&m" and we did SWSH because SS already meant soulsilver. i don't think scarlet and violet needs to be called anything other then SV.
#i guess this doesn't really matter but i've seen people wonder what the 'correct' abbreviation is for this gen#and i'm like why would it not just be SV

Do you play Sword/Shield, if so have you started Crown Tundra?
I played through Sword when it first came out!! I never got around to finishing the post game tho so I haven’t even looked at the DLCs yet cksnfnns
#SwSh just. Didn’t really do it for me#Like yes the game is gorgeous but it wasn’t a Fave#I don’t think anything will ever top my experience playing BW and SuMo;;#Pokemon#I do want to play the DLCs tho. Eventually.#Shima answers questions#zapiarty

Doesn't it seem a little concerning that SV is releasing soon yet we don't know anything about what the starter evolution lines look like (save for leakers finding out for us)? Even SwSh had the courtesy of showing us what the final evolutions looked like before it released.
SwSh didn't reveal the evos before launch if I remember correctly, and PLA only did silhouettes and nothing else. The only game that showed off the evos in recent years was SuMo.
#if I'm remembering correctly#I don't like it it's just kind of expected#pokemon#pokemon scarlet and violet#pokemon sword and shield

I see this complaint about sumo a lot, that it's Lillie's story instead of yours, and like that is very true it IS definitely Lillie's story, I just don't think that's necessarily a negative in the way people say it. I get what they mean tho. But I've seen people make similar complaints about swsh, saying that it's really Leon's story and I... don't really agree, swsh always felt to me like it belonged to the player and Hop. I do think Leon's role in the game is really interesting tho and I've thought a lot about the "it's Leon's story" complaint and why it's ALMOST right but still wrong lol
Leon really does give off Main Character energy which I think is very appropriate because he is meant to parallel the player, but I think the complaint can mostly be blamed on two specific parts of the game, one being the explosion in Hammerlocke, and the other being the second explosion later that also results in Dynamax Pokemon rampaging. These are both things that happen off screen. Both times Leon tells you "oh don't get involved in this, I'm champion I'll take care of it" and then he just goes off and handles it without you. yeah tbh I REALLY hate these parts. It's nice that Leon is trying to protect the kids, I like him for that, but I hate that it means I don't get to do anything while these exciting, plot important events are happening. They happen without me. And what makes it worse is that these two events? Supposed to be our build up to Rose being the villain, but because we don't get to see or be part of it, it kind of slips out of your mind as quickly as you hear about it, so Rose effectively gets no build up at all. And there's literally such an easy fix for this, you can still have Leon be like "no no let me take care of this" so he still gets to look heroic, but just have the player and Hop ignore him and investigate on their own anyway so we can actually see... anything. But anyway that's a whole other complaint lol the point is I do get why people feel like Leon is doing more in the story than them because. Well yeah, in these instances he is
And the kicker comes when Rose's plan is revealed, and it's to awaken Eternatus and make Leon catch it so it can be used as an infinite energy source. You know, the usual Pokemon villain nonsense, we've had dumber plots than this honestly lol. But yeah, Rose expects Leon to be the hero who cleans up his mess, and again this is more about Leon than it is about you, right? But the thing is, Leon tries to stop Eternatus and fails, he's incapacitated so you and Hop are forced to step in, you're the actual heroes here (with Zacian and Zamazenta) and despite how poorly this climax was built up to, I really like the idea here. You and Hop parallel Leon and Sonia but you also parallel the two heroes who stopped the Darkest Day originally and god it's so almost good lol. But yeah Leon isn't the hero in the end despite the feeling from everyone that he should have been
Leon is us, but he's a different version of us, a past version of us. I used to think it was pandering that his ace is Charizard, and like it is but it's pandering with a thematic purpose! Most of us started with gen 1 and like it or not Charizard IS the most popular gen 1 starter, Leon having one makes sense because he's us, just like his champion battle theme literally being the hall of fame theme remixed makes sense because he's us, but Leon's story is over, it's happened already. And you see this all throughout the game, you see it with Opal and Piers passing on their Gym Leader titles to Bede and Marnie, you see it with Hop studying to become a professor at the end, you see it with yourself taking Leon's crown and then Leon becoming chairman, it feels like we're seeing the end of all these characters' stories while ours is still happening. This WAS Leon's story, at one point in time, but his part is over and now it belongs to you and Hop

Pokemon sword and shield witchcraft!
Use pokemon that correspond with your intentions. For example: the starters. Scorbunny for heightened energy and fire magic, Sobble for emotions and water magic, Grookey for music, earth, and green magic. I recommend checking out these blogs for more correspondences
Use pokemon with high friendship/affection levels for an extra punch!
Name your pokemon after things you want to increase in your life, and charge them up by leveling
Do the same thing with banishing, just release them!
That being said, give your pokemon certain items to hold to charge up their meanings, like the leaf stone for green and plant magic. Post coming for item correspondences soon!
Divination of all kinds!! Pay attention to your wild encounters, wild dynamax encounters, pokemon coming into your camp, wild area weather. I recommend this post for more!
CURRY CORRESPONDENCES!!
Use pokemon as poppets! Play with them in pokemon camp and feed them, level them up (be very very careful when battling!! Or just don't battle at all!)
There's alot you can do with the pokejob system. Use the jobs to correspond with different things and send in pokemon to protect and help them(correspondences coming with the items post!) Use these to represent your friend and send pokemon (maybe their favorites?) to help and protect them in tough times!
Channel pokemon and characters in spells!
A big one I can think of is milcery and alcremie for kitchen and sweet magic!
Wanna intimidate or break someone who has hurt you? Use Bede!
Use Allister for spirit work!
Opal is definetly some kind of fae. Maybe use her when communicating with them??? Idk this is mostly a joke
Try making a mental space of one of the locations in swsh to do spells in. Ballonlea is certainly a beautiful magical place for this! Also personally when I finally astral I want to use the players house as a model for my space
Speaking of locations, for curses or something similar you could use the Slumbering Weald. Its very foggy and easy to get lost in!
There's so much fashion in this game!! Correspond your character's outfit with your intent! Along with that, your biking outfit and your tent also have colors!!
Moves!! Maybe use some moves in spells by using one that corresponds with your intent against a pokemon similar to what you want to banish
Not really swsh related but along with having pokemon that correspond with your intentions you can decorate with them in real life too! (Crafts and printed images work if you can't get official merch or don't want to)
Isle of Armor for beach and water magic, Crown Tundra for ice and winter magic? Hello??
Pokemon can make great starter spirits! Try maybe a little grass or bug type, just make sure to have some fire salt on hand incase anything goes wrong!
Spin and do the charizard pose to make a circle and seal it!
Dedicating pokemon to your spirits and deities!
OH I JUST HAD THE BEST IDEA!! Joint rituals with your witchy friends in co-op! You join them in a dynamax battle... and then use moves as spells and stuff!
Ooh this may be kinda weird... but what about charging a certain pokemon for an intent (such as an extra magic touch or positivity) and then placing pokemon you want to charge in a box with them so they all are charged?? Like pokerus!
And that's all folks! Let me know if I should share my friend code and stuff,, it would be cool to have more witchy or just general friends on my switch! I might wanna a post on pokemon sumo if I ever get my 3ds fixed :(

Sure, palkia and dialga clan leaders isn't canon compliant, but really, is anything canon compliant these days?
TRUE i was gonna say "oh when have i ever cared abt how my decisions affect the story anyway 😂" but legends is sooo lore based bc the whole thing with "almighty sinnoh" and the clans not actually knowing what sinnoh is or what it looks like and all that.
i could alter the lore to make it work but do i really want to this time is the question.
ive had contrived work arounds and cheap corner cutting involving pokemons whole "mysterious legendary the storys been building up to" thing before. like in swsh for example. where the whole plot is finding out the sword and shield were actually pokemon and all that. in igi they know what zacian and zamazenta are by name bc. gloria and victor exist. but they dont have much information about the feral equivalents since theyre assumed to b rare and elusive (which they are, obvs). and then its like plot twist, the answer was right in front of you the whole time. ya gloria/victor woud b like "i came face to face with a dog apparition that kinda looked like me but idk it was kinda shrouded in fog and i also almost died so" but they dont find out til later, just like in the canon storyline, that they and the dogs have a connection the the sword and shield thing.
in bw, both n and ghetsis have that moment when they notice black and white in the crowd during ghetsis' speech in accumula. and thats why n singles them out to begin with. he doesnt question them right then tho theres definitely a scene where ns finally like "what do you know about the legendary pokemon" and whites like "idfk i am literally 13". probably the ferriswheel scene tbh.
and then theres bw2. and sumo. where everythings completely thrown out the window. hell the original dppt also probably counts for this at least a little.
but they are FUN to DRAW, damn it! THEY LOOK COOL. and not to mention imagining their neat powers and also something something anthropology related in regards to how the concept of legendaries would be treated in a society like ours and BLEGH. words.
so ya, ive only played thru legends once so far so on my subsequent play thrus im gonna think about it more and probably (maybe. hopefully) come to a conclusion abt the lore then.
#UGH perap talks. cool. awesome#if i got something very obviously incorrect somehow srry lmao i dont have this stuff written down#my brain runs on low power at all times#err. i dont tag spoilers on this blog so idk. if i should. do that.#might be too late.#oh well ill tag#pokemon legends arceus#perap makes a lore post#<- OUGH wheres that been

Oc Bio Test Run
This isn't official or concrete!!! It's just for me to get feedback on how I should rewrite the bios! Mostly if they're clear enough to get a basic understanding of them! I have a nasty habit of making things vague and a little too story-telly, so the feedback would be very much appreciated!!! This ones Alexis' cause duh.
Alexis “Alex” Jones
Pronouns and Sexualtiy: He/Him( Cis), Gay
Age: 14( BW) 18 (SuMo) 22 (SwSh)
Birthday: October 26, 1998
Home Region: Unova
Likes: Music, His family and friends, his pokemon, quiet spaces, hugs and cuddles( any consenting form of physical affection)
Dislikes: Burdening people with his problems, being forced to be the center of attention, Ghetsis, any mention of the past, being asked to be champion of anything. Himself.
Bio:
At the age of 14, Alexis was supposed to have a normal journey with his sister and friends, Cheren and Bianca. He was supposed to take on the gyms, battle, catch pokemon ,and have fun. He was supposed to have a simple, normal journey.
But fate hates him.
At the age of 14, Alexis and his twin sister, Elliot, caught the interest of a person named N. He said things about wanting to free pokemon, believing that humans and pokemon should be separate. That's when it all went downhill. Alexis wasn’t ready for what was to come after talking to the person named N. Friendship, he hoped for. Did he get that? Kinda.
At the age of 14, Alexis lost two of his pokemon to Team Plasma. He can still remember their lomb bodies. The blood. Cheren’s hug was almost distant.
The death didn’t stop. He remembers asking Arceus what he was doing wrong. Arceus didn’t answer.
At the age of 14, Alexis is tired. Team Plasma is becoming more of a threat to the public, but he already knew that. N is their king. Elliot was not happy about that. Alexis didn’t know what to think. N chose him. To stop this chaos. Alexis thinks Arceus is playing a cruel joke.
At the age of 14, Alexis feels something calling to him in his dreams. He later gets a call about a black ball. He gets a little sense of purpose then. It surprised him a bit.
At the age of 14, Alexis is tired and angry. Ghetsis is a cruel man. A cruel, terrible man. He always knew something was wrong. And he was right. But he doesn't have time for him. He needs to save N.
At the age of 14, Alexis' life flashes before his eyes. A green haired man, angry shouts, a groundbreaking cry- his arm. He can’t feel his arm.
He woke up in the hospital. Apparently it’s been a month. He doesn’t have a right arm now. Elliot doesn’t have her left leg. Didn’t stop her from heading to Alola though. It was over. Everything was done. He saved Unova. He’s a hero.
A hero.
At the age of 14, Alexis Jones runs away from the hospital. He runs away from home. He runs away from Unova. He hasn't been seen for two years. Apparently he was in Sinnoh.
At the age of 22, Alexis is back home. So is Elliot. N…kinda. It’s complicated. But he doesn’t want to think about it. He doesn’t want to think about anything. He just wants to take care of his pokemon, and work with Cleric at the Daycare on Route 3. He doesn’t want to be champion, he doesn’t want to battle, he especially doesn’t want to be considered a hero. He’s no hero.

I watch the alola series as a comfort show when I'm recovering from surgeries, but I was having a really awful time of it lately so I'm rewatching it again. It's been a while and I forgot how much fun it is! It's definitely my favorite out of any pokemon series.
Anyway there's something funny I noticed about Jessie's Mimikyu. In the games, it says nothing about mimikyu hating Pikachu, just using its image to be loved by others. So it's only Jessie's mimikyu that hates Pikachu with such a passion and I think that's hilarious.
Sun entry: It's actual appearance is unknown. As hilarious who saw what was under its rag was overwhelmed by terror and died from the shock.
Moon entry: A lonely pokemon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and pokemon.
USUM and SWSH entries are more of the same. Nothing about hating Pikachu, just about being spooky and lonely.
Not Jessie's mimikyu. All it does is terrify meowth enough so that he refuses to translate anything it says, and attack Pikachu any chance it gets.
Team rocket had the luck (or not luck) of getting possibly the scariest mimikyu in the world, and it only wanted to come with them so it could attack Pikachu all the time. And it didn't settle to be caught in a normal pokeball, no, it would only be caught in a luxury ball, which when meowth gets almost caught in one in the xy pokeball factory episode, says is very comfortable. Amazing.
Anyway I love team rocket and mimikyu and sun and moon
lmao yeah thats something that always got me about jessie's mimikyu. i absolutely adore sumo, it's such a huge comfort for me!!!!
and hey, we're both recovering from surgeries! surgery buddies! /lh
