Mistakes in Creation
Finally, I'm writing a new religion post, after saying I would in... December of last year... Oh.
Let's not dwell on past mistakes, and instead on new exciting mistakes.
Like this one above (Look closely)
So, what does it mean to make a mistake in creation and how should it be handled? Find out more below the cut
Not all pursuits have what can be truly classified as "mistakes", indeed, in most cases of construction for the self, a "mistake" isn't a useful concept.
But it certainly is a mistake to think that is always the case. Especially when the creation involves others. For more on collaboration, check my prior blog post.
Definition
I'm sure you have in your mind examples and a definition of "mistake" already. It's a pretty common word after all. But I think it is important to get a definition that fits into the context of Kosdaoziro.
A mistake is an instance of unknowingly hampering the fulfillment of a wish while trying to create to fulfill it.
Note the bolding of wish. In the sense of the religion, wishes are more generally things people want fulfilled, not just the high aspirations it is commonly used for.
(why is this gif so full of static? Eh, at least it communicates desire and is not porn.)
Note also that for this post, a mistake is made in service of a goal that it hampers. This is intentionally narrower than a normal definition of mistake, as there's not much to discuss from a creation standpoint about say, sleeping too little before a big meeting.
So, when have I really made a mistake?
Never. You've never made a mistake.
...
Hopefully you didn't fall for that. Being old enough to read this post, you will have made a mistake, at some point, even under the narrower definition I made above.
Internal Recognition
There are times when you simply know that you've made a mistake, such as Arceus allowing Giratina to destroy by its own decision making. While destruction can be important, She (Arceus) knew there was too much.
In a sense, this is the easy mode of mistake recognition. Given a self's natural inclination to start with justification, usually one noticing a mistake means one really exists.
However, the nature of the mind is that it is full of contradictions. Sometimes, the spike on the shield of self-justification can flip inwards and cause you to see everything as a mistake. This is a sign of destructive thinking and something to discuss with a qualified professional.
But, sometimes the biggest mistakes are made by people who don't realize they made one, needing external input.
External recognition
On the surface, this seems easier than looking at what you've done and realizing that you've made a mistake. But blind trust and blind rejection both have a fundamental problem: ignorance of intentions.
This is part of why people have a defensive shield in the first place, that people can have the urge to ignore criticism because there are those who dish it out because they don't agree with the approach or person, rather than due to causing a problem.
Evaluate claims, especially of making a mistake, and avoid jumping to conclusions.
I've made a mistake, now what?
Now we're getting to the core of the post, inspired by my work experience with a major development project I've just wrapped up. Due to not wanting to get fired, I won't be going into specific details related to the project, just lessons learned.
Sunken costs are not a good reason to ignore feedback about a mistake. It is a reason to focus on why the costs ended up there and not on the right path.
The road well-traveled is never without a reason. Don't disregard it as too hard or incorrect if you don't know why it is taken.
Evaluate if you understand all the situations involved. Do you know them all?
You might notice that there's a theme of communication not being complete. That is a failure I've had during the project, and worth evaluating especially in works with others.
Prevention and Cure
There's a common saying that prevention is worth a lot more than cure. It's an attractive idea, but as common with small phrases, it is easy to misinterpret and overly simplify.
Fixing the mistake and putting things back on the right track is important when mistakes are made. but don't let that be the end of the story.
When the dust has settled, try to see what went wrong and develop a "vaccine" for the problem, like how to make a real vaccine, you need to take a part of the virus and use it as immune training instead of sickening.
There are mistakes that can only be prevented and those that can only be corrected. Most are not these types. Always try to do both.
It's impossible to make no mistakes, but you can make it so you're avoiding the same ones.
A personal note.
It's been far too long since I last did this. I got a little too caught up in this idea being my next post, and so I ended up waiting until my dev project was finished before writing.
I'm going to try to avoid that in the future, and look over some past posts for sequels next. Hopefully, you'll see from me in December.
Oh, and the Arceus is fine, the legs just pop off.

introduzione
hello, all. i am Jirachi. I was drawn to the practice of PokePaganism because I began my life in the multiverse as Jirachi. I discovered this many years ago. I implement the world of Pokemon into my not-quite-practice - I prefer the term "belief system" due to the fact that it (unfortunately) takes a backseat to many of my responsibilities and is more passive than active - by worshipping and looking for guidance from my fellow Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, who were seen as gods and goddesses in my canon. As for a favorite Pokemon, well, it seems strange to pick one as a Pokemon myself, ha. But, my second life was as a Gallade, so that may count.

This also happened with Pokemon admittedly, I took so long to realize that I could worship and work with Pokemon despite being a TES worshiper/worker for a while by then. You'd think that the person prioritizing in pop culture paganism would realize another possible path in another major interest lol. But alas, I was so tunnel vision about my TES path.
It's kinda silly how long it took for me to realize that I was meant to be on the draconic path at least a little. Like... I was obsessed with dragons as a kid, collected dragon statuettes, identified part of my identity with "liking dragons", and a lot else. And yet even when I became a pagan/witch, I didn't stop to think "wait. dragons." as a part of my faith and practice.
It was complete happenstance, or maybe influence from my dragons trying to get me to finally look that way, that I learned about the draconic path... which I've slowly been learning has many different branches and paths and beliefs about what the dragons really are.
I'm very happy being a dragon worshiper and worker, so I'm very happy I began taking this path and working with these wonderful beings. They're all so wonderful and varied.

If Norse gods had Pokemon...
Admittedly this is a VERY goofy concept, but I saw someone else posting about Thor having a Pokemon and it got me thinking.
Odin: Perrserker. A manic battle-loving viking creature? Sounds right.
Frigge: Talonflame. A badass flaming falcon? Check.
Thor: Yamper. Is it any good? No but it is electric, trying its best, and looking for hugs and that seems like a buddy Thor would adopt.
Loki: Mimikyu. Cute little misfit assuming another Pokemon's form? Checks out.
Hel: Duskskull. ...do I need to explain this one?
Tyr: Poochyena. Something tells me Tyr would be drawn to a scrappy little wolf-puppy. Call it a hunch.
What do you think? What pokes come to mind for you for the gods? What gods do you think would be a fun gym leader or trainer?

Bring devotion into your gaming! Its super fun!
In animal crossing one of my buildings is a straight up alter im working on for all of the gods i worship and work with.
In pokemon i like naming my pokemon after the gods.
There is thanatos the duskul, my snorlax hypnos, my alakazam apollo look he is bright yellow and can do psychic moves and like apollo is the god of prophecy i have a wartortle named posiden and a little buddew named persephone. Love them
Also in hades when you give offerings to the gods you can straight up pretend its a offering. Thats what i do!
Incorperate your practice into the games you play! Its fun! Game on!

Deity Discernment: Trickster Deities
For today's Apollo + Hermes Tumblr devotional act I will be covering trickster deity discernment as best as possible! I would like to acknowledge the Gadigal of the Eora Nation, the traditional custodians of this land and pay my respects to the Elders past, present and emerging. I acknowledge that Aboriginal sovereignty has not been ceded.
FoR: I was a Loki devotee for a few years or so prior to relocating to a Greek community & drawing the attention of Hellenic gods, after a period of worshipping Hermes I became a Hermes Devotee and so I am blessed to have had some experience with Trickster deities in a devotional way. I am also a Neopagan, not a reconstructionist so I won't be covering pagan reconstructionist approaches here.
This does not mean that I have been immune to trickster fuckery as I had Hermes admit to me that he "cosplayed" as other deities a while ago however his reasoning as follows: "As a messenger god I am often tasked with delivering messages between gods and mortals and sometimes the messages from the gods are best received with the wrapping of the god who has sent the message rather than from me. People will occasionally think it's directly from the god who sent the message, which I'm fine with so long as the message is being received as effectively as possible. However I'm not responsible for people's discernment skill-issue making them think that I'm another god." - Hermes when I asked about him coming across as other deities. Note that this is really a thing with people who casually worship gods rather than devotees since devotees actually have a strong relationship with their god/s.
So, how does one ID a deity?
Rule out mundane causes such as lack of sleep, interrupted sleep etc.
Deity identification tarot readings (I'll link a post below)
Pay someone with a good reputation for deity identification to do this for you if possible (I am wary of "free" services) to gain an external perspective
Pay attention to signs, omens & synchronicities (log them somewhere)
Research the deity you think it is: How have they traditionally appeared to others? How do modern pagans perceive them? Are there signs or synchronicities that seem "off" or not aligned with the deity you think is reaching out?
Spiritually cleanse your home in whichever way aligns with your practice.
Ask a messenger or oracular deity from your pantheon to help guide your discernment.
Work with your strongest clairsense and maintain your clairs. E.g. I am claircognizant so I maintain that with exercises when possible to strengthen my discernment.
Work on improving your connection with your Higher Self as that is essentially the antenna between your mundane-self and the spiritual realm. The stronger your connection with your Higher Self the less likely a trickster deity may pull one on you and/or the less likely you'll encounter miscommunication issues due to a "fuzzy" connection (Hermes' term).
Optional: Perform an egg cleanse to remove any bad mojo from others.
Bonus tip: I am being reminded by Apollo to create my dark/trickster Book of Shadows (on my growing devotional to-do list) but even dedicating a section of your regular BoS to trickster deities from your pantheon can help. Now I did tell anon in the linked ask that I'd do the following:
- Adequately addressing Dionysus specific aspects
- Addressing common traits among some of the various trickster deities
- Research various tips to strengthen discernment skills.
- Reasons why deity identification can be confusing, especially with trickster gods. However, Apollo is guiding me to create a more general post that can be used with almost any Pantheon, to better help a wider audience so I apologise to Anon for not addressing the points that I said I would.
I hope this helps.

normal-type pokemon pantheon
for an introduction, how i have decided to split this up is into major deities, minor deities, major spirits, and minor spirits. i will not be creating anything in-depth in terms of the actual spirits in question, as this is not a correspondence list but rather just a loose guide for constructing a pantheon. this will involve a few concepts to get you started in working with certain pokemon, but again, it is not extensive.
in my personal belief, these spirits are standalone and evolution is completely within the pokemon universe, as opposed to our universe - however, you are free to experiment as you like, and even work with multiple pokemon of an evolutionary tree. this will also be put under a cut for length.
definitions:
the "major" deities would be equated to the legendary pokemon; the ones with more inherent strength and govern over more powerful concepts that we encounter in the universe (such as governing over the sea as opposed to water). they are less involved in our personal lives, but are still worth reaching out to.
the "minor" deities would be equated to the non-legendary, but still significantly powerful pokemon within the type. they are usually fully evolved. while they do not govern over powerful concepts such as the major deities, they are still powerful enough to be considered a deity as opposed to a spirit. there is a sense of stronger importance with minor deities than major and minor spirits. they are more involved in our personal lives than major deities, but are still less involved than major and minor spirits.
the "major" spirits would be equated with non-fully evolved pokemon, usually a middle evolution. what they govern over is less powerful than the major and minor deities, but are still stronger than the minor spirits. they are more involved in our lives than the major and minor deities, but less so than minor spirits.
the "minor" spirits would be equated with base-level pokemon. what they govern over is the least powerful of all, but are the most approachable and workable spirits to involve yourself with. they are very involved in our personal lives.

I'm trying to get some more friends/mutuals! I haven't really used much social media in a long time but I'm bored.
I'm 25, so I'm not really looking for people under 18. Bigots also need not apply and will not ever be welcome here.
I got into fandom for the first time under 'ship and let ship' and 'don't like don't read' so I'm also not going to be someone to discourse at about media.
I'm a pagan witch and I really enjoy poetry, writing in general, and lots of different media. Star wars, lord of the rings, wheel of time, Arcane, the vampire chronicles, so many different anime, tv, game, and book series. I love nature and music and learning new things and dungeons and dragons/ttrpgs in general. I'm autistic and happily and loudly queer.
So if that all sounds good come say hi!

Volo's thoughts about me🧏🏼♂️
I did a reading with Volo to see what he thinks of me and yeah
You don't need much tarot skills to know what he is saying(he is quite literal at times)
And this made me go Hrigkgkgkgkhi🤭 since he treats the spousal as more of a traditional human relationship since well in canon he is a human(well now deified human) so yeah he is head over heels swooning mode🤭👁🫣💛🧏🏼♂️

Pokémon TCGP and Intuition with Wonder Pick
This is an unserious post, but has anybody else been playing Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket and they almost always get what they want from wonder pick? Statistically, I should only get what I want about one in five times, but thanks to my intuition and clairaudience, it’s more like four in five times. The only times I don’t are when I doubt my intuition and the card I almost picked is the one revealed as the one I wanted.
I’ve been freaking my friends out who also play this game with my wonder pick “luck”. Shoutout to Lord Lucifer for giving me the answers. Ave.

Baneful Usages for Pokemon Spirits
This post isn't written from experience, but rather mostly theory, so it might not actually work in practice. This also isn't exhaustive, just me thinking of possible usages.
I wrote this from my own POV on baneful magic, hence all the "enemy" talk. That's what I use baneful magic for. It's not the only valid form, though.
Feel free to reblog and add your own additions! Take your favorite Pokemon and find a way to make them baneful.
Alakazam can make your enemy feel like a fool.
Annihilape can be used to strike down your foes and keep them down.
Arbok can make your enemy ill with their venom.
Basculegion can be used as a vessel for angry spirits to strike down those corrupt in power or public enemies.
Cramorant can be called upon to make your enemy choke on their own words and actions.
Cubone can increase grief and grieving for lost loved ones.
Deino can lead your enemy to feel blinded and lost.
Dhelmise can lead your enemy to feel like they're drowning in their own negativity.
Eevee can lead your enemy to be confused about themself and their identity.
Froslass can lead for them to get "stuck" as who they are, preventing self-growth and growth in skills.
Hypno can haunt your enemy's dreams and inflict nightmares. Hypno can also cause them to behave in ways they wouldn't normally.
Joltik can haunt people who are terrified of spiders.
Kommo-o can make sure your enemy never has a moment of auditory peace.
Litwick can lead your enemies astray while draining them in the process. Might be good to keep on someone who likes using baneful magic on you drained magically so they can't perform more spells on you.
Mawile can sabotage your enemy's life from behind them.
Murkrow can bring great misfortune upon your enemy. Conversely, Honchkrow can be used to make sure your enemy's crimes and sins are never forgotten.
Ninetails can help you control your enemies to keep them from harming you further.
Noctowl can keep your enemies up at night, causing insomnia.
Pikachu can overload their electronic devices, causing them to break.
Polteageist can lead your enemy to get food poisoning.
Slowpoke can make your enemy exhausted.
Sudowoodo can make your enemy feel unseen as their true self.
Tinkaton can generally ruin your enemy's life.
Tsareena can just kick the shit out of your enemy and lead them to become physically injured.
Zoroark can serve as a trickster spirit to mess with your enemy.
Zubat can serve as general annoyance.
#I love Zubat by the way very very much by the way they are not an annoyance to me#pokemon magic#pokemon witchcraft#pop culture witchcraft#pop culture paganism
