Hey hey! I just finished a ridiculously complicated and long UQuiz about fandoms! Please take it! :D

I put my heart and soul into this PLEASE play it!! I like sharing stuff I like, it's fun I promise. <3

Edit: This is kinda aimed a little at whump enjoyers btw, not entirely but a decent bit. Warning for swearing, possible spoilers for any/all included fandoms, vaguely mentioned drug use in one answer to one question, and violence. (Fictional.)

1. When your story gets serious, what do you want from it? 1. Pokemon DPA: A deeper meaning that gets the author in WAY over their head. 2. Warrior Cats: A deeper meaning that could be taken the exact wrong way if you so chose to. 3. Gameknight999: A deeper meaning that was probably not intentional. 4. Shark Wars: A deeper meaning that is mentioned explicitly once or twice and then never added to again. 5. Pokespe: A deeper meaning that needs a little thinking to make any god damn sense at all. 6. Pokeani: A deeper meaning that only seems to show up in half-canon material. 7. Spiderwicks: A deeper meaning that doesn't seem to have any actual bearings in reality. 8. HTTYD Books: A deeper meaning that CATCHES YOU OFF GAURD. LIKE, FUCK DUDE- 9. Scratchcraft: A deeper meaning that is pretty obvious if you ignore the fact that it doesn't actually exist. 10. Hetalia: A deeper meaning that is questionable at best. 11. Percy Jackson: A deeper meaning that hits really hard when you start growing up. 12. HTTYD movies: A deeper meaning that was better done somewhere else but I still cried. 13. The Monkees: A deeper meaning that just barely made it past the censors, and it as true to the real world as it could ever aim to be.

2. What do you want out of a protagonist? 1. Pokemon DPA: Overpowered. Also bites people on the ass. 2. Warrior Cats: I like to switch things up as the media progresses. :3 3. Gameknight999: Really traumatized but you wouldn't guess that at all from the concept of the story. 4. Shark Wars: Edgy but in a cringe way. 5. 6. How much violence are you feeling like looking at? 1. Pokemon DPA: The real fear happens when the comic relief finally stops. 2. Warrior Cats: Somehow the worst part is that hardly anyone seems to notice something is wrong. 3. Gameknight999: It's a game, but only to half of the participants in the conflict. 4. Shark Wars: Oh, that's torture and mass killings graphically detailed in a children's book, okay. 5. Pokespe: The blood was censored, but somehow you know it's there. 6. Pokeani: It's all fun and games until somebody randomly drops dead. 7. Spiderwicks: Everything is totally fine mom! My sister DIDN'T just get kidnapped by the fae! I promise! 8. HTTYD Books: Ultimately, it's never the violence that truly hurts, but the fact that you know it will happen again and again, and all you can do is try and make things marginally better while you are still here, crawling through the mud. 9. Scratchcraft: You get to choose how real any of this is. 10. Hetalia: A comedy with an underlying truth of extreme violence and war and the realization that none of these people can be friends forever. 11. Percy Jackson: Somehow we always seem to push through. ̶u̶n̶t̶i̶l̶ ̶w̶e̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶a̶n̶y̶m̶o̶r̶e̶ 12. HTTYD movies: We will always keep fighting! 7. How do you like your fandoms. 1. Pokemon DPA: I'm fine with a small fandom. I'm not bothered by the bones of a (slightly) bigger one. 2. Warrior Cats: This fandom feels like being surrounded by a pack of wolves! thumbs down 3. Gameknight999: I have never been in a worse fandom. Seriously. Imagine being in a fandom of twelve yearolds on WATTAPAD that then transitions to DISCORD. This is what Hell feels like. (And I'm Catholic.) /pos I luv you guys but STILL 4. Shark Wars: Literally no other person in the whole world is perfect for me. :3 (PLEASE JOIN ME. PLEASE. HELP!) 5. Pokespe: This fandom feels like being surrounded by a pack of wolves! thumbs up 6. Pokeani: Most god awful takes you've ever seen because half the people here don't even like the content and the other half are eight years old. 7. Spiderwicks: What fandom? 8. HTTYD Books: When the fandom is just the size that you can't argue with each other over media or you'll fall apart. ok symbol 9. Scratchcraft: Tight knit fandoms on almost exclusively Discord and a children's coding website are good enough for me! 10. Hetalia: Honestly, I love the discourse. I'M SORRY I KNOW, I JUST- gets jumped 11. Percy Jackson: The memes are so unfunny it feels like it's stuck in the 2000s. 12. HTTYD movies: I don't even care if half the fandom is crossovers with unrelated fandoms, I want to have fun! 13. The Monkees: Pretty big and dedicated, once you get there. Pokespe: The rift of time, memories that you do not know fly by 6. Pokeani: A sunken ship on the bottom of the ocean, it is quickly filling with water 7. 12. Choose an experience a protagonist has endured. 1. Pokemon DPA: You feel yourself begin to cry. No matter how evil this person is, you cannot help but forgive them. When will they understand? 2. Warrior Cats: You stand alone, suddenly in complete darkness. Overwhelmed by shame, you realize it is better for them all to think you are dead. 3. Gameknight999: You stand on a thin path under the world, your greatest enemy with a pickaxe in his hands. 4. Shark Wars: You find yourself in the deepest trench in the ocean as you are pulled down by a weight you cannot remove. 5. Pokespe: Ice freezes around you, crackling slowly up your arms as you scream for help. No one comes. 6. Pokeani: You feel your soul slowly begin to dissipate as your body turns to stone. 7. Spiderwicks: Your body shakes, skin burning as poison touches it. You lift your foot, revealing what is left of something you should have loved. 8. HTTYD Books: You have been kidnaped, and finally, your letter to your mother has been returned. You reach your skinny arms through the bars of your prison window to unravel the paper. You can't help but wonder what wonderfully army she might have sent to rescue you. What do you find? A resounding "No," you must save yourself after all. 9. Scratchcraft: Lightning rains down around you, but you smile. It's finally time to join the other gods in the sky. The people you once loved are nothing but shadows to you now. 10. Hetalia: You lock yourself in your room. Days, weeks, months, and years pass you by, but even three centuries of knowing your fate cannot prevent it from occurring. 11. Percy Jackson: As a person able to breath underwater, you are yanked into unfamiliar waves, for the first time ever, you know what it is like to drown. 12. HTTYD movies: The beautiful creature before you lays it's head on the earth, giving up. Your hands shake and the dagger falls to the ground. 13. The Monkees: You stagger through the desert, but when you have finally found a vending machine, standing there atop a drifting hill of sand, it doesn't give you what you wanted.

15. This quiz is all over the place, isn't it. Whatever. Time to pick the sort of media you would like to enjoy your chosen franchise/series in. 1. Pokemon DPA: A short(-ish) and sweet manga series. 2. Warrior Cats: It is critical that these books must have as many mistakes as possible. Also, there must be a LOT of them. 3. Gameknight999: Books where you eventually start wondering if the author proofread this stuff at all /pos 4. Shark Wars: Vaguely obscure children's books 5. Pokespe: A really fricking long manga series 6. Pokeani: This anime is WAY too long. 7. Spiderwicks: A short series of thin, but aesthetically pleasing books 8. HTTYD Books: Some surprisingly chunky books with a cool font! 9. Scratchcraft: Youtube videos where most of the series is deleted :( 10. Hetalia: Anything I can get my hands on. A webcomic, an anime, music, more than one musical for some reason, etc… 11. Percy Jackson: A book series that has several levels of optional other series to read with it :D 12. HTTYD movies: Movies and a whole lot of optional episodes if you want them 13. The Monkees: A two season TV sitcom from the 60s, a movie, several books from the people involved, and several albums of varying quality.

16. Pick a silly story I've had happen in relation to these stupid things. 1. Pokemon DPA: I thought it was a different series. Like, I picked it up and thought I was reading a different book series than I was. 2. Warrior Cats: I stayed up ALL NIGHT at Girl Scout Camp reading one of the books a few into a section of the series that I have never read before or since. 3. Gameknight999: I associate the smell of magazines with this fandom now, unfortunately. 4. Shark Wars: For some reason I could not find book two. Like. For four years. Why. I found everything else almost at once. What about book two makes it impossible to find. 5. Pokespe: I made it my mission to read through the entire series in a month every summer through middle AND high school. 6. Pokeani: My mother constantly apologizes for letting me watch this show. It's great. 7. Spiderwicks: On a four hour car trip, the only thing I brought to do was read this book. I get car sick when I read in a car. 8. HTTYD Books: When I was in like second grade I accidentally left one of the books out in the pouring rain at an aunt's house. It survived, shockingly. 9. Scratchcraft: I'm a thumbnail artist??? Idk how that happened woah 10. Hetalia: My friend and I were out watching this show in the middle of winter. She got minor frostbite. I wasn't even cold. skull 11. Percy Jackson: I read the first book instead of having Thanksgiving dinner with my family. It wasn't on purpose. Nobody could find me and I was too busy reading to notice how much time was passing until everyone was already gone and there wasn't food left. 12. HTTYD movies: This and Das Boot Directors Cut are my favorite things to watch on the TV. Yeah. 13. The Monkees: I was very upset in college and I prayed for any sort of distraction to make me feel better. A day later, I got so hyperfixated on this fandom that I could not think about anything BUT the fandom and began alternating between squeaking in joy and sobbing for about three days straight.

17. Thank God that's over! Woah, speaking of Him, pick an afterlife! (If there is no such thing in the series in question, I picked the next closest thing that appears in the media.) 1. Pokemon DPA: Chunks of earth float in the twisted sky. Somewhere you cannot see, a shadowy creature roars. 2. Warrior Cats: A life just like yours, but none of you can grow anymore. 3. Gameknight999: It doesn't apply. My code will be gone before I get there. 4. Shark Wars: A sparkling ocean, uncannily blue and full of voices, but calm. 5. Pokespe: Time is paused here. Music floats through your ears. 6. Pokeani: Not sure. Every time I die, I seem to come back. I guess it'll be a surprise? 7. Spiderwicks: Suspended in time on the back of a magical creature. If I reach down to touch the ground, I will finally disappear. 8. HTTYD Books: My death doesn't matter. What matters is what I do in my life. 9. Scratchcraft: A comedically timed Minecraft "YOU DIED" screen. 10. Hetalia: Well, I'm not ever going to die, first of all. 11. Percy Jackson: You have to be a hero to even remember living once you get there. 12. HTTYD movies: Presumably Valhalla? 13. The Monkees: Can't. The writers won't let it end. (They crushed it anyway.)

18. What "bad end" would you like to be a very easy possibility in something you read? 1. Pokemon DPA: The world has been restarted, made into something devoid of love and emotions. But you'll never live to see it, in fact, it's as if you've never lived at all. 2. Warrior Cats: A horrible drought robs a society of water, slowly, they all wither away. 3. Gameknight999: The virus bleeds out of the game, infecting the real world turning it into a nightmare. 4. Shark Wars: A horrible emperor takes over the entire world, cannibalizing or enslaving anyone who stands in his way. 5. Pokespe: The protagonist stays frozen, and unfortunately, the second follows in his footsteps. There is no one to stop change now. 6. Pokeani: A creature beyond all of humanity has decided that people do not deserve to live free. 7. Spiderwicks: The fae continue killing, families are lost to their power, the town twists, crackling into the trash heap at its center. 8. HTTYD Books: As they say, "If it doesn't end well, then it isn't the end!" 9. Scratchcraft: [I've got nothing. Honestly. I don't know how I've managed anything serious so far. Feel free to pick this if you don't like the other options lol.] 10. Hetalia: Well. Honestly. The whole thing kind of feels like a bad end? 11. Percy Jackson: The Old Ones take over again. There is nothing but suffering for humanity now. 12. HTTYD movies: Everything will continue just as it was. 13. The Monkees: Well. The band broke up.

Shark Wars: Hm. Did you get kicked out of YOUR Shiver too?? Shark Wars is a book series by EJ Altbacker which goes through increasingly violent and terrible events in the lives of the main characters, all while aiming at a relatively young audience. It's one of those series that takes like thirty minutes to want to start reading the book (even as it's in your hands), but once you do, you literally can't put it down. Truly a masterpiece, if I, the only Shark Wars fan on the planet, can convince you. I highly recommend this series! It's a lot of fun! (Don't worry about the Shark Magic, it's martial arts if they say it is.)

Warrior cats: May all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather before highrock for a clan meeting! Warrior Cats is a book series written by a group of authors who, together, go by Erin Hunter. It follows the lives of a whole lot of cats, and it does so in a way that is shockingly gripping (and, let's face it, a little ridiculous), frankly, you couldn't really ask for a better middle school friend group roleplay. About a million characters, and about a million ways to interpret them… purrfect. (sorry) (The moon pool sure is cold at this time of night.)

Pokespe: The power of the Viridian Forest has bestowed upon you the ability to read something real good. The Pokemon Adventures (or Pokemon Special) manga is a very long running manga series written by Hidenori Kusaka. It currently goes from the Red and Blue games ALLL the way to Scarlet and Violet, and it does a great job too! It's characters are original and three dimensional (despite being based on game counterparts), and it's plots can be completely unexpected, even for someone who played the original games. I highly encourage getting into these series, or at least reading up to the third book. It's a lot of fun. Yes. We KNOW about the Arbok already, stop mentioning it!! Why do you think we're here!??!?

Pokemon DPA: …do you want to meet a god- Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Adventure is an eight book series by manga author and artist Shigekatsu Ihara. It centers around the travels of Hareta as he makes his way through the Sinnoh region. Very fast paced and with slightly odd humor, you may wonder why I like it so much, and to that I have to tell you that it is, in fact, my FAVORITE Pokemon media. I know. A little ridiculous. But who can blame me? The art, character designs, and story are all really good, and the action is nothing to scoff at. If you like something silly, just a wee bit violent, and a lot of fun, give this series a try! I could really use a friend in this fandom. XD We don't mind being a little stupid here. :3

Hetalia: Oh boy, here we are. Hetalia is a controversial manga, anime, and musical franchise started by Hidekaz Himaruya. It is a satirical telling of various points in history through humanized versions of the counties. It is absolutely not everyone's cup of tea, but it helped me to better understand (and find interest in) history, and if you like satire and historical situations, this may be the place for you. Uh… Make pasta not war?

Percy Jackson: Well. I didn't ASK to be a half blood. (And I guess neither did you.) Percy Jackson (which hardly needs an introduction) was originally a book series by Rick Riordan, and has since expanded into a (not very well liked) movie series, and a show, as well as many other connected series. Despite this, the original book series is by far my favorite, and if you are looking for something that is very funny, and very violent, it is the way to go. Have fun demigod! (PS: I think I saw the upstairs window glow, did you see that?)

Gameknight999: Ah. I see, you got hit with the digitalizer too! The Gameknight999 series is an unofficial "isekai" Minecraft novel series by Mark Cheverton. It can be considered childish, and most often found in book fairs at elementary schools, but it can have a much darker tone if you want to look into it. The fandom itself for this book series came at a difficult time in my life, and though I am unable to determine whether the fandom was an overall net positive or negative for me, the books were definitely a positive. They inspired creativity and community, while also being objectively hilarious in concept. Come, let's hold hands and frolic through our computer screens together. :)

Scratchcraft: Welcome new Scratcher! Click the "create" button to make a new project. :3 Scratchcraft is a Minecraft SMP that is currently in it's fourth season. What is interesting about this SMP, however, is that it was started on the website Scratch.mit.edu, and, also, that it is not very active. While the content itself in this fandom is few and far between, the community is incredible once you get your footing in it. The member who currently uploads the most goes by "StormLordZeus" on Youtube and went by "haunted_enderman" on Scratch. (His Minecraft skin is pictured in the result image above.) And NO, you can't ask to join Scratchcraft.

Pokeani: Sorry you woke up late, we've just got a Pikachu left! Oh well, no matter. The Pokemon Anime (starring Ash Ketchum as the lead character) was an anime that lasted for 25 years across 26 seasons and several movies. It is not my favorite Pokemon Media, but it is still one of my favorite fandoms of all time due to it's cast, great range of amazing to hilariously bad animation (only sparingly), and episodic nature. If you are looking for something fun that you can pretty much jump into whenever, the Pokemon Anime may be the right fit for you! Enjoy your journey, you hopeful Pokemon Master!

How To Train Your Dragon (movies and shows): Welcome to dragon training! The How To Train Your Dragon movies and shows were based on a wonderful series of the same name, but quickly fell completely off the mark. You may think, because I personally prefer the books, that this means that the movies are bad in some way. Absolutely not! Without spoilers, the first How To Train Your Dragon movie is my favorite movie of all time, and the second it's really all that far behind it. If you want something with incredible music, a great story, and a really nice message (not even to mention the characters and animation) try out at LEAST the first movie, and start branching out from there if it hooks you in like it did me. And, yeah, if you see that Night Fury, I heard pretty much everyone is looking for it.

Spiderwicks Chronicals: Must've taken the dumbwaiter up here huh? The Spiderwicks Chronicles is a short book series made by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi. I must admit that I do not often post about this series, but despite that, it is one of my favorite fantasy series I have ever read. It's short, sweet, and very depressing when it wants to be. If that kind of thing sounds up your alley, who knows! Maybe someone just like you could encourage me and others to show more interest as well. (Don't forget to get some fairy bathwater in your eyes on the way out. Sorry if that's gross, it's kinda important.)

How To Train Your Dragon (books): Well, suffering swordfish, you've found your way here. The How To Train Your Dragon books series is a twelve book series by Cressida Cowell that follows Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third and his friends as they go on wacky misadventures through the Barbaric Archipelago. At least, it is until the true extent of everything becomes clearer and clearer. If you want something that becomes surprisingly serious (while still remaining rather funny), and is incredible and exciting all the way through, try on these books for size. Isn't fate artistic?

The Monkees: Hey hey! We're the Monkees fandom! Some people say we Monkee around! The Monkees was a 1966 show about four people who wanted to be a band, but it was also a band made up of four people who wanted to be in a band. Depending on what you want, this fandom can provide you from anything from sitcom antics, to Real Person Fiction, to a really weird movie. -and of course, save the Texas Prairie Chicken.

Clay

Clay, now renamed to Sculpter is a sandwing who grew up in the scorpion den, most young sandwings would be beaten and bruised with many scars but due to his ginormous size despite his age Sculptor was often feared and avoided by other sandwings. He used this to his advantage to protect other dragonets in the scorpion den. Most dragonets saved by him did not stick around because they didn't want to get into more scuffles, but Sculptor slowly accumulated a little group of misfits who stuck by him through thick and thin. Sculpter learned that he had family outside the scorpion den and decided to leave and go find them, with his found family coming with to help him.

Tsunami

Tsunami, now named Swarm is a hivewing who grew up relatively normal, but she started to notice all the injustices that both silkwings and hivewings faced and grew agitated with the system she lived in, but felt she couldn't do anything about it. That is until she found out that she was related to Queen Wasp. She then knew what she had to do, she had to kill Wasp and take the throne for herself so she could fix everything. This... wasn't the best OR easiest plan it turns out, but she soon found help from The Chrysalis and some Leafwings aswell as a mysterious and strange hivewing.

Glory

Glory, now renamed to Aconite is a hivewing who was hidden from her birth mother. She was taken by leafwings by mistake, who did not know the egg they had taken was a hivewing egg. Once the poisonwings figured out she was not a lost leafwing they started to treat her badly. She was treated like a mistake, a monster waiting to burst, telling her her tribe was awful and that they saved her from them. Her only friend was an outcast leafwing, she lost hope in proving the poisonwings wrong about both herself and her tribe. That was until she was sent on a mission to the hives and she met a strange hivewing asking for help to take down the current queen. She soon learned that she and the hivewing, Swarm, are related.

Starflight

Starflight, now renamed to Milkweed is a leafwing born to be a prodigy. He was apart of the effort to create stronger leafspeak but for some unknown reason he was born without it. He was outcasted and treated like the biggest failure next to the hivewing who he hung out with. Hes often bullied, but he is extraordinarily smart, and knows everything about history, herbs, dangerous flora and fauna and about anything else written in a book he can get his hands on. He would prove useful to the group trying to find a way to stop Wasp from her tyrannical rule, as he knew about the breath of evil and how it worked.

Sunny

Sunny now renamed to Beetle is a strange silkwing, shes very charismatic and often gets in trouble for being "too cozy" with hivewings. Shes very upset with how hivewings treat silkwings but she has hope that this will change one day, and this hope is fully ignated once she finds out her mother is apart of a secret group called The Chrysalis. She begs to join, and her mother reluctantly agrees, sending her on her first mission to help out a strange hivewing and some leafwings. On this journey she learns about her lineage and how shes actually part hivewing, and how her father is currently being held captive and frozen in time by wasp. Sunny wants to save her father, and the best way to do it is getting rid of wasps mind control.

AND DONE! I feel so bad that literally everyone BUT clay was made into pantalan dragons. I wasnt originally planning on connecting their stories but i got too many ideas and did it anyway XD

I have zero clue how to tie clay into the rest of this, but despite that i still drew a messy portrait of them all together :3

i might do this with other protagonists but this one took so long that im not really sure anymore...

My thoughts on Episode 4:

Aegon finally snapping after realising that everyone only sees him as nothing more than a puppet king was satisfying. The desperate need to prove himself, to his mother, his brother and the council by going to war himself, to show that he's good at something was so good to see. However I'm still bummed out that he wasn't actually part of the plan. Him leading his army head on as Cole gives that rallying speech was one of my favourite moments in the book. Too bad that it was changed to him appearing unannounced prompting Cole to give that last minute impromptu speech.

Aemond speaking High Valyrian and regaining some ground over his brother after that brothel incident. We've seen Team Black saying that Alicent's children aren't true Targaryens. Well we can put that claim to rest after seeing Aemond practically take his brother down a peg in High Valyrian. Something even Jace Could not master.

The Alicent Plan B scene. Honestly, after years of being used as a broodmare, I understand why Alicent resorted to using moon tea. Although she has a consensual sexual relationship with Cole where she gets to regain some semblance of that autonomy that she couldn't get because of Viserys, getting pregnant again and going through another painful, life threatening child birth is simply a big "no" for her. Irrespective of her finally being able to explore her sexuality, bearing a child again is still something very traumatic for her that she still closely associates to Viserys and the neglect she was dealt whilst she was at her most vulnerable.

The Criston Cole glazing. I love how almost every council member of Team Black acknowledges Criston as a force to be reckoned with, which he is. It sheds light on the fact that he's more than some brute who acts on Alicent's Whims. He's an experienced Commander and he truly shines when he finally gets to be in his element. I've seen several reactors begurdingly admit that Cole's strategy was sound, despite clearly hating him and it was so satisfying.

Jacaereys and Baela taking Rhaenyra's stead whilst she was away and doing their best in putting out the fires in the Council Room was a delight to see. Jace being eager to join the battle and help his mother save her crown was refreshing and we got a good character moment from him.

The Rhaenys and Alyn scene was.....meh considering the fact that she was harsher in the books. I was expecting her to lash out at Corlys with her barbs but again, she was just mum about it, it feels like the writers forgot to give her some agency when it comes to how she acts around her Husband. And the fact that people are comparing her to Catelyn Stark and tearing the latter down is annoying. Can y'all stop with the Catelyn Hate? It's been decades.

Rooks Rest was amazing in the beggining. We've got Gwayne's inexperienced ass doubting Criston at every step until he gets silenced. The plan was perfect with Cole and Aemond using Vaghar as a trump card in case any of Team Black's dragons come knocking. But that is where my appreciation for that battle ends. We've Sunfyre being absolutely butchered all though he puts up a decent fight in the books. Where the fuck is Rhaenys charging at both Aemond and Aegon with a glad cry? Where is Rhaenys having a "dragon rider's" death that Team Black likes to harp about. The Aemond scene where he blasts at both rider's was dumb and pointless, a cheap attempt at creating some conflict between the brothers when we had the Brothel scene just the episode before. This would've been a wonderful opportunity for them to show how despite hating eachother's guts the brothers will still die for eachother. But alas, I guess only Team Black can have good familial relationships.

Cloud Pillows

DreamXD and Dream get themselves a much needed break. From GeorgeHD's generosity they have a home for the night, yet Dream is still on edge and XD knows how to calm him down.

The room was more than secure and safe enough for DreamXD and Dream, yet XD could not make himself relax. The first thing he did was get Dream and himself a bath. Easily done in the bath that was nearly as big as the bedroom.

As XD expected (and took a moment to wonder in awe), the dresser in the room held clothes for both himself and Dream that was near perfect to their sizes. Dream was finally in soft, clean clothes of a grey t-shirt and shorts. There was a similar set in XD’s size but he only wore the shorts. Surprisingly the top came with an extra set of sleeves for his lower arms, but the size was just a little off so XD went without.

GeorgeHD was clearly more powerful than XD had been told. They only knew of the God from the accounts and stories that Prime would sometimes let them hear, but his power, not just in strength, was more than XD had ever thought. If they could have redone it again, they would have tried to seek HD out as soon as they and Dream arrived in the Overworld.

“What are these?” Dream’s curious voice poked through the thick cloud of thoughts in XD’s mind. He blinked out of his daze, watching as Dream stood beside the table in the middle of the room. The table held a large water jug and a few glasses. Dream and XD had drank all of it before the bath and when they came back to the bedroom the jug was full again. Beside that was a bowl full of fruit, and Dream had pulled out a bunch of small green ones.

“I think they are grapes.” XD answered unsurely. He had remembered seeing a picture of them in a book he read aeons ago, though the End could never grow any. He trusted whatever HD gave them would be safe to eat.

Dream pulled one of the grapes off the stem. He looked at it carefully before looking to XD again. “Can I have it?”

XD nodded and watched carefully as Dream ate one. He could see Dream ponder on the taste and eventually deciding he liked it, putting another one in his mouth. “It’s good!”

XD’s heart warmed and broke as Dream collected a few grapes and then climbed up onto the bed to join him. The first few days on the Overworld had been fine for food. The trees had plenty of apples and XD could hunt the animals easily. Yet all of that was in a pure survival instinct to keep Dream alive, not because he enjoyed any of the food. And with the burn on his arm, most times XD was feeding Dream while the boy was crying in pain.

The memory of Dream’s burning was wedged forever in XD’s mind.

Ever since Dragon had crawled her way out of the void, XD had kept constant care to know where she always was. After Dream was given to him, it was his top priority to keep him safe and yet just one mistake undone it all.

She had come across them exploring an airship and XD had taken just a split second in deciding whether to fight or flee. A split second too long as Dragon opened her maw and the purple flames engulfed the entire ship. XD shielded Dream as best they could from the fire as they teleported, but the horrible scream told them they weren’t fast enough.

XD had taken them to the main island of the End, and opened the portal to the Overworld. His only thought at that moment was to get Dream to water, and once the pain had lessened only slightly, XD had already made the choice that they couldn’t return to the End.

They survived for four days in the wild, moving from biome to biome. XD could not command anything in the Realm and Dream was too young to craft, so it was days looking for food and nights having Dream sleep while XD kept watch. They eventually came across the cherry biome in their travels, Dream having pointed it out and since he���d smiled for the first time in days over it, XD took him there. Exhaustion and stressed had XD close his eyes for just a second and when he open them and saw Dream so close to other kids, he panicked.

At least the outcome had ended with him and Dream with a room for the night.

“Are you okay?” Dream asked as he pat a hand over XD’s knee.

The memories faded off to the back of XD’s mind and he smiled to Dream. “I’m fine.”

“Do you want some grapes?” Dream offered the fruits up which XD calmly refused. Dream hesitated before speaking again, but XD could read his expressions so easily he already knew what Dream was going to ask. “Can I have your cloak?”

“Of course.” XD pulled his cloak up from the side of the bed. Despite it’s frayed and ripped condition, Dream took the cloak eagerly and wrapped it around himself.

His eyes caught onto a few of the tears at the cloaks edges and he ran his fingers over them. “Can you fix these?” The question came as more curious if XD could do it, and not asking him to actually do it.

XD shook his head. “No, not yet.” He had tried mending the cloak when Dream took his bath, but he was still exhausted and his powers refused to work. “I can fix it after I rest a little.”

“Then you can sleep now.” Dream said so surely, popping the few last grapes into his mouth. “And I can keep watch tonight.”

XD held back his snort of laughter. “No.” He said. “You will be sleeping tonight.”

“No!” Dream quickly snapped, surprising XD. “You can sleep tonight. I’ll keep us safe this time.”

XD’s heart lurched in their chest. It had been a constant struggle to get Dream to sleep for the nights they were in the Overworld. Partly from the pain and another part because he’d always fuss over XD being awake. XD had explained that sleep wasn’t needed for them as it would be for Dream, but they couldn’t deny the tiredness that plagued them. Dream was observant as ever, always trying to push XD to rest while he offered to forage despite the burning flesh on his arm. XD used to feel pride over Dream independence. Now they cursed it.

“You do not need to keep watch.” XD explained softly. “We are safe here. GeorgeHD gave us a room for the night. You can sleep just fine.”

Dream’s face twisted to a troubled expression. He huddled the cloak more around himself and mumbled into the green fabric. “We can’t trust them…”

XD frowned; troubled by Dream’s attitude though he knew he was partly to blame. When he was given Dream, the End was already void of life. Dragon made sure of that. It was just XD and Dream for years until now, and even here XD had kept them far from villages and tried to hide them from any wanderers. XD knew he looked different from mortals, and his anxiety the past few days convinced him they’d see him as a monster. Now that had been passed to Dream.

“They are good people. And HD healed you.” XD pointed out. The newly healed arm under the cloak twitched ever so slightly, almost like Dream was pulling it into himself. “How is your arm?” XD asked.

“S’fine…” Dream mumbled, fighting the urge to pull out the arm to check. XD had noticed Dream touching the healed flesh every once in a while.

“HD has done a great kindness for us. We can both sleep easily tonight.”

Despite his soft words, Dream still looked unsure. He pulled the cloak tighter around himself till he had it wrapped snugly. “No! I’ll keep watch!”

XD sighed. Dream was stubborn and arguing with him about it was no use. XD knew this from experience, and there was only one way to get through to him.

In one swift movement, one of XD’s lower hands quickly grabbed the end of the cloak and quickly flipped it over Dream’s head. When Dream squealed and fell over in a struggle to free himself, XD wrapped the cloak more and more around his brother.

“XD!” Dream shouted through the cloak as XD watched the little lump of his brother squirm under the cloak and try find the way out. “Doooon’t…”

“I’m not doing anything.” XD kept his voice calm while he grinned. “It is not me… It is the cloak!” XD made his voice more dramatic as he crowded around his brother.

“No it’s not!” Dream squeaked, giggles lacing his voice. One of his legs kicked out, not hard though, and XD caught it in his hand. His claws started just lightly scratching on Dream’s soles through the cloak and Dream screamed. “EHEHEX DEHEHE!”

“The cloak has you!”

“Nohohoho ihihit dohohoesen’t!”

Dream’s foot was released and he quickly pulled it back in. He curled himself up tightly, making himself as small as possible. He could only see XD’s shadow above him, unmoving. When he tried to pull a piece of the cloak off himself, it was pulled back up.

“Ehex Dehehehe…” Dream giggled. “Lehet me up!”

“It’s the cloak, Dreamie~” XD cooed. The shadow didn’t move but Dream could hear tapping on the bed beside him. He squealed and rolled on his side, away from the tapping. “You need to ask the cloak to let you go~”

“Nohohoho! No Ihi-EEP!”

XD’s hand came in, clawing at Dream’s side and making him scream with laughter again; flailing in the folds of the cloak. XD’s heart swelled, hearing Dream laugh again. The four days of pain would never leave XD’s mind, but he could make every day after that filled with laughter and love. And tickling would surely help that.

“It sounds like the cloak has got you all trapped, Dreamie.”

“Plehehehehease!”

The claw in Dream’s side was pulled back, and Dream tried rolling away only to be scooped up into XD’s arms. He could barely kick or even tell which way was up or down before the four hands around him were kneading into his sides, clawing into his tummy and skittering on his knees.

“Stohohohop! Plehehease stohohohop!”

“Who are you begging to, Dreamie~?”

The frustrated growl, laced with squirmy giggles, ended with a whine of giving in. “Thehehe clohohohoak!”

“Ohhh… I don’t think the cloak wants to let you go, Dreamie!”

The boy shrieked as two of XD’s hands worked on his tummy, sending him into hysterics.

“You are gonna be trapped in this cloak forever!”

“Nohohohoho!”

“If you don’t want to sleep, you’ll be gobbled up forever!”

“Ihihihi’ll sleeeeehehehep!”

XD grinned. “What was that?” His tickling lessened only slightly to allow Dream to speak easier.

“Ihi’ll slehehep! Juhust stohohop!”

XD did stop, feeling Dream fall limp in his arms. The cloak was slowly unfolded and Dream fell to the bed. His damp hair frazzled again, his cheeks red and a dopey smile on his face. A smile XD had not seen in what felt like forever.

The temptation to scoop Dream back up and tickle him was strong, but XD held back. Instead he settled down, laying by Dream as he pulled his brother up onto the pillows.

“Ready to sleep?” XD tried not to sound teasing, yet Dream still groaned defiantly.

“I’ll sleep...for a bit…” Dream relented. He gave a long yawn, stretching and turning around so when he relaxed, his arms came down and hugged the pillows into himself. They were so fluffy and soft, perfectly shaping around Dream’s face and arms like he was sinking into a cloud.

“Of course.” XD chuckled. He had one of his hands brush Dream’s hair into a somewhat manageable shape while another pulled up the cloak again, laying it over Dream like a blanket again. “I will sleep for a bit too. We will both get some rest.”

Dream wanted to argue, XD could see it in the crease between his eyebrows, but instead he relaxed again, curling up with the blanket over him and sighing. He mumbled something into the pillow and was drifting to sleep.

If time could have froze in this moment, XD would have been happy. His brother was healed and safe. They were given a room, a warm bed, food and drink a plenty. Everything in this moment was perfect and XD almost wanted to fight off the sleep to enjoy it more, but the tugs of exhaustion pulled at him to lay his head down on the soft cloud pillows as well.

XD needed to repay HD back for this somehow. To him and his family. He’d given the End brothers a great kindness that could probably never be given back but XD would make sure, somehow, he did.

For now, XD slept. Both Dream and XD slept soundly for the first time in a long while. They slept all through the day, well into the night, and didn’t wake up until dawn the next day.

I read a post where OP listed off all of the reasons why they don't see Mallyuu being possible in canon and believes that Malleus would be in a politically arranged marriage to a powerful fae of high status. I strongly disagree with OP. Even as someone who isn't a huge Malleus stan or has their Yuu shipped with him.

Okay, sure. If we're looking at that possibility from a strictly dogmatic historical and realistic lense, then I agree that statement would be correct. But we're not talking about the possibility of a real life marriage for a crown prince here, but about a fictional one in a Disney game. In that case, I think it's possible. Because...

I don't think game has such a law actually put in place. The game never mentioned it. The closest thing are that stupid council, who could be overthrown or put in their place, and Lilia saying that "Malleus can't enter a marriage lightly" during the Ghost Marriage event. (Far as I'm aware, I've tuned out most of Book 7 since it's mostly just one stupidly long flashback.)

If such a law did exist and Malleus was in a canonical arranged marriage, wouldn't the game have brought it up by now? (Yana sucks at foreshadowing and laying down this shit, but come on! That's too much even for her. xD)

Yuu brings some things to the table. They are human. Malleus marrying them would help with diplomatic relations between the fae and the humans. With how isolated the fae are in that world, they kinda need it. They also survived several overblots and would've saved Malleus' life, which is worth something.

I'm pretty sure that his grandmother could pull a Sultan and just change the law if such a thing is in place. She's one of the most powerful fae in the world, so what she says goes. She could easily put that council in their place if she must.

Dragon eggs in canon can only be hatched by true love, either platonic or romantic. (Even if I think that whole thing is silly, but that's beside the point.) If Malleus was in an arranged loveless marriage, he would never be able to produce an heir like the council wants, even if he has an AFAB/cis female partner. If they want any kids from him and he marries an AFAB person/cis female, it must be someone he loves like Yuu. If he marries someone AMAB or cis male, then he can just adopt or use a surrogate.

If we bring mythology/folklore into this, it's even more possible. The fae criteria for marriage is focused more on how talented and attractive the human partner is, that's it. There are plenty of stories where fae "spirit away" normal human women and men away to marry fae royalty. I imagine the fae in TWST are similar.

As for the life span thing, I think either Malleus will pull an Edward and let Yuu age normally or have the human partner drink fae aging potion. (I went with the latter in my own writing in a general sense. Again, shipping my Yuu with Jamil.)

Even if he was in one, he would find a way out of it. One of the biggest tropes that the Disney brand stands for is "true love conquers all". While the form of that love changes, that idea remains the same. The game shattering that by making Malleus be doomed to be in a loveless arranged marriage forever would go against what the brand stands for, so it seems highly unlikely. The fact that the game is also tapping into the otome market makes it even less so.

So, yeah. While I don't think MallYuu will ever be canon, I think a union between them is quite possible. It's fanfiction. Do whatever you want.

Sixteenth Day Event Prompt:

Karl's library in the rain

Karl's head aches when he steps out of the hidden room where he keeps his books, memories of entire worlds stuffed into his brain.

It takes him a moment to remember where he even is- L'manburg? El Rapids? Ruttabagaville? It certainly doesn't look like any of them. Too open, the buildings too grand. He feels at home though, a bit of warmth that sparks in his chest as he admires the buildings towering over him, the statue of a dragon atop a hill.

Kinoko, he thinks with a sigh of relief. It's empty as always, no other people wandering the paths, no windows lit with warm light against the cloudy sky. He's not sure who he expects to see- Kinoko has always been a lonely place.

A crack of thunder shakes the sky, and Karl retreats back into his library, content to settle on an old chair that someone- that he'd drug in at some point.

For a library, the walls are remarkably bare of books. There are a few stacks placed in corners, and Karl would worry about them rotting if he didn't know that every truly important book was tucked safely away in a room beneath him.

The wind howls outside. It's drafty in the library, with it's high ceilings and open layout, and Karl shivers as he pulls his cloak tighter around his shoulders. There's an ache in his chest, and he worries he might be getting a cold. If it's pulled from the past or the future, he's not sure he'll have the medicine to heal himself.

XD wouldn't let him die of a cold. Or, Karl thinks with a snort, maybe he'll lose his first life to it. Two more to go, then. He'll have to aim for something more adventurous for those two, like drowning in the shallow fountain down the street or falling out of a tree.

The rain begins in earnest, pelting down against the ground outside, silent as it hits the mushroom roof. Karl breathes in deep, taking in the smell of petrichor and books, and smiles. The only thing missing is a crackling fire to warm him, but it would hardly be safe to light one among all the books. Karl doesn't like fire.

Another crack of thunder, the lighting that precedes it casting eery shadows across the room. For a moment, Karl thinks he sees the silhouette of a winged figure, thrown against the wall opposite him. But it's gone as quickly as it had appeared, and he shakes his head- he's been awake too long.

The rain slowly lulls him to sleep, sprawled out in the old chair. His dreams are confusing as always, full of bright colors and faces he can never remember when he wakes- dark hair, dark eyes. Sorrow. Always so much sorrow.

He knows when he wakes, he'll be somewhere else. XD hardly lets him get a night of sleep before sending him off along the timeline.

Karl can never quite understand why he always comes back to this moment- the rain and the thunder and the wind. Nothing Karl does will be changed when he gets back, save for the books in the secret room. He's only reliving the same few hours over and over again in a lonely bit of time.

He feels the moment XD calls on him, the tugging at his mind and body. As always, there's a flash of light- more lighting? He never hears the accompanying thunder.

I'm not a furry so seeing the genuine monsters get passed over in favour of tiger costume looking ass dudes is kind of disappointing? I'm on the tony the tiger fucking website though so maybe I should have expected this

I get it, though no matter the outcome someone's gotta end up disappointed. Nature of the tournament and all. The best layout for semifinals imo would've been a werecreature, a dragon, a snake, and some sort of monstrosity. maybe swap one of those with the orc. While I wish it was at least two different anthros instead of two tigers, I'm personally pretty neutral on the matter. Which is good since I'm the showrunner XD. I just selected a few favorites, expected defeat at the onset, and had fun just seeing how far we could get! But I know that's not for everyone.

If it's any consolation, the polls have definitely skewed more monstrous over time. More on the animal side as well, but anything not actively rotting has gotten a much better reception as we've grown. People learn more about thier likes and dislikes as they consider new things!...or they're just wearing down thier followers XD Also there just aren't as many anthro animals to worry about in the next tournament. We're going to be doing a PC races tournament too, so they'll be around, but in this book it's basically just the gnolls and some later snake people. and this lil guy.

Opinions on King Magnifico and headcanons if you've got any? You always have my favourite Disney Villain takes, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the newest addition to the roster!

I FUCKING LOVE KING MAGNIFICO And, no, this is isn't just, "Oh, I really like this guy, and it's fun to see Disney doing a bona fide villain again." No. I FUCKING LOVE THIS MAN And I am NOT gonna be normal about him either XD

And thank you! I do have a few headcanons to share about him:

His spellbook of dark magic used to belong to Maleficent. It is quite literally a book of Unseelie spells with her magic within its pages, reflected by the dragon on the cover and the shadowy shape in the pages and the green coloring and the staff. She didn't give it to him, but in collecting magical texts and artifacts from across the lands, he came across this tome that she sent out into the world to wreak chaos.

He 100% hunted down the bandits who killed his family and murdered them with his magic. I know that one's kind of implied, but I definitely think that's what happened and watching himself go so unrestrained with his wrath and darkness if why he locked away the dark magic spellbook to sort of temper his dark impulses.

I don't think he ever really loved his wife, Queen Amaya. I think he loved that she believed in him and looked good on his arm, but I don't think he had any genuine love for her. He's too much of a narcissist, and tbh I think he's got a bit too much of that classic Disney Villain cunty-ness to him to qualify as a hetero XD

The ending implies that Magnifico becomes the spirit in Grimhilde's mirror. I don't necessarily think that gels with Snow White or my headcanons for Grimhilde, but there's definitely a connection between him and the spirit of the mirror. The realm that he was trapped in was definitely "the farthest space" that Grimhilde summons the mirror from, and perhaps he's a soul who replaces the spirit in the mirror when it manages to escape its confines. I don't know yet what I think for this on, but every option is interesting!

Magnifico isn't his real name. He chose it for himself because it sounded more grand and dramatic, befitting of a king. His actual name is much more mundane and feels too tied to his family's deaths for him to continue using it. Plus, hey, as an added bonus, going by a different name protects him from any fairies taking control of him and wresting away control of the kingdom. THAT would put a damper on his desires to be the only source of magic in the kingdom, after all.

I'll keep thinking on more because this is just my day one ideas! There might be more as I go along! :D

Imprisoned feelings: the fullest analysis of the Trix I ever wrote

For the sake of writing normal fanfiction, I've given the Trix a lot of thought and now I'm preseting you my thoughts about why they're... the Trix. I'll try to observe only the facts given in the series (I'm not taking the facts from the comics, bc firstly, I didn't read all the comics and secondly, some info in the comics is right the opposite from the info in the series and movies) and not my headcannons, but it's going to be really hard XD

Actually, I think that the Trix are kind of a phenomenon among other witches. Griffin once mentioned that witches don't work in groups and here we have... witches working in the group, which acually rarely splits up. But I don't think it's because they experience some sisterly (or any other kind of) love, bc they are way too selfish for that and when the situation gets dangerous, none of them would risk her life to save the other. (Okay, Darcy and/or Stormy might do that for Icy, but I'll explain that possibility later.)

Yet they think about each other. In season 5, Darcy and Stormy left Icy, putting their comfort in the first place, but before that they kept trying to make her change her mind (stuff about Icy and Tritannus is in my other article) and came back for their sister in the very end. In season 3, Valtor (as I believe) tried to break the Trix up, but in the end they were still working together as a group. So, the Trix are mentally attached to each other, though they care more about themselves (or about Psychofish (sorry)).

To me, that attachment means two things. Firstly, they've spent a lot of time together, bc I believe that such a firm bond simply can't be formed during the 2.5 years they've been studying at Cloud Tower. And sevondly, they didn't have a loving family/families, which could show them a good example of how people should communicate. That moves us to the next conclusion.

Although all three of the Trix are different, they have something in common. They all are sadistic and very naive. I think that it all comes from their childhood. As I said, no-one of their family members/caretakers actually loved them. Also, I think people who raised the Trix, prepared them for what they've accomplished, I mean stealing the Dragon Flame and ruling the world. In season 1, when Icy was explaining it all to Bloom, I had a clear impression that she was repeating the words the had been told. So, yeah, I think the Trix were constantly told about their future mission, smth like "you're the future and the only hope of this world/our ultra evil community/etc", apply puberty to that stuff and you'll get the "we are the baddest people here" POV, bc for real, these three didn't even take headmasters of the schools seriously, which, btw, were powerful and experienced sorcerers, who fought Valtor, Darkar and other ☆amazing☆ people. So, the piont is, the Trix were made naive and cruel. Aaaaand here we move to the "imprisoned feelings" thingy.

(Another fact that confirmed they were raised to carry out the mission of world domination: they are used to be the right-hand. They easily team up with Darkar, Valtor, Tritannus, Serina (okay, in the last case, Serina was the right-hand, but they still worked with her instead of taking her book for themselves, which, btw, I can't explain). So, it may be possible that since the very beginning of the story, they tried to fulfill the task they were given by their parents/caretakers)

So, the Trix were raised as the killing machines. I believe that it also ment they should've been heartless. But they're still human beings, who do have some feelings inside them. So, what do they do? Right, they suppress these feelings.

Remember how quick were Icy and Stormy to laugh at Darcy bc of her feelings for Riven (season 1)? Or the reaction of Icy and Darcy when Stormy mentioned them as her 'friends'(season 3)? I think it all happened because they were taught that positive feelings are ridiculous and make one weak. And that's why they never tried to show it.

Cloud Tower made things even worse. This is where we should thank Griffin (no), who always mentioned aloud about her how much she dislikes "those fairies who always care about the others." (Not a quote, but she could've said smth like that.) So, the Trix get a clear pic: on one side, there are fairies, disgustingly-glittery creatures who are always caring cheerful and therefore weak. On the other side, there are cruel, heartless and cool witches, who will win this rivalry in the end, bc they're not afraid to play dirty (why are they nit afraid?? BC WITCHES DON'T KNOW WHAT FEAR IS- oh sorry, I got a little too carried away XD)

There also might be one more aspect. Icy, who is obviously the leader type, seeing the relationship between them and their parents/caretakers, began to treat her sisters the same way, so Darcy and Stormy were really afraid of her, even though the three of them might've had equal powers. And because of this fear, they would do anything for her. That's why sometimes they risked their lives for Icy (the end of season 5 and the end of season 8).

I wanted to write about each of the Trix here as well, but this shit is already way too long, so another time :)

All right, starting way later than I intended today but continuing my slow but steady pace through Veilguard. XD Not sure how far I'm gonna get tonight but gonna at least push a little on into the next mission and see where we're going now that things have officially started to get Weird(tm)

Next step is to inform Strife and Irelin that D'Meta's Crossing now looks like an H.R. Giger painting.

"Did you find our scouts?"

"They're dead. I'm sorry. Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain sacrificed them in some kind of ritual."

Helena is pretty pissed about everything that went down in the Crossing. I think I've come to the conclusion that is viewing the Dalish gods as extensions of the mages she and the Dragons fight against in Minrathous - trumped up and power-hungry and cruel. Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain for sure, and Solas too, really; Solas gets a few points in her book for not (for instance) being blighted, but he's on thin fucking ice in her book.

So she's mad about all the innocents that died and mad that it all happened before she had a chance to try and stop it.

"Creators..." Irelin says weakly. "What about the rest of the village?"

"The ritual spread blight everywhere. The entire village was overrun," Harding says.

"The few who survived are controlled by blood magic," Neve puts in. "Their minds are gone."

"Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain used them like puppets," Bellara says bitterly.

Before anyone else can speak, there's a rushing sound of flapping wings above them.

An enormous black raven swoops downward out of the sky, and as it drops, it changes, its form twisting into smoke around the body of a tall human woman with dark hair and a strange, metallic headpiece.

"I daresay, 'twas a show of force..." the woman says gravely.

(A/N: !!!!! Morrigan! \o/ )

Helena blinks curiously. Strife and Irelin seem unsurprised about this woman's appearance, but it isn't every day in Helena's world that birds randomly turn into strange humans.

Pity I can't learn that trick. Certainly an impressive way to make an entrance.

"They will not rest until you are on your knees," the woman goes on. "Fearful. Cowering. Helpless in the face of such power."

Not much for pleasantries, this one, Helena things dryly.

To her surprise, though, Harding perks up at her side and grins. "Lady Morrigan?" she asks.

The woman quirks an eyebrow up in answering recognition. "Tis simply 'Morrigan' to you, Scout Harding. What a pleasure to see you again."

"Rook," Strife says, "this is Morrigan. An old... acquaintance. I thought she could help."

(A/N: Those ellipses are in the subtitles as well. Why did you say that so ominously, Strife?)

"Morrigan helped the Inquisition when Varric and I were part of it," Harding explains, catching Helena's bemused expression. "She knew more about ancient magic than anyone except Solas."

"Twas both pleasure and necessity to help then as it is now," Morrigan says. "Stopping Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain shall require many hands."

Helena considers the strange woman up and down for a moment. She's inclined to trust her if Harding endorses her - but it doesn't mean she doesn't have questions. "So... who are you, exactly?" she asks, narrowing her eyes.

"I have borne many appellations," Morrigan says, a trifle airily, as if mildly amused by the question. "Advisor to Orlais, Witch of the Wilds, friend to the Inquisition. My place here, however, is but a humble advisor on matters arcane."

(A/N: I know it's been ten years but Claudia Black is definitely doing a different angle on Morrigan's voice this time around. She sounds a little less sharp-edged than she used to. Perhaps her life with Daniel has mellowed her.

Hopefully he's still alive. :/ I have heard tell we don't get to hear any reference to him or Kieran in this game, so I am going to choose to believe that Daniel is still perfectly alive and also involved in all of this from off-camera. We know that as of Inquisition, he was working on investigating a cure for the blight, and I can't see him hearing that Morrigan was gonna go all the way up to Tevinter - and particularly, hearing that she'd gotten caught up in dealing with a couple of blighted gods - and not coming along to help out.

So I'm choosing to believe that everything Morrigan does in this game has Daniel supporting her. :D We'll see how well the game bears this out.

Also it occurs to me that Kieran is like a grown person by now, or near to it, which is weird to think about. So maybe he's helping out too.)

Helena raises an eyebrow. "Witch of the Wilds?" she asks dryly. The term sounds like the grandiose titles the magisters bestow on each other.

Morrigan, perhaps, senses her disdain for the self-aggrandizing term, and smiles self-deprecatingly.

"An honorific borne of rumor and exaggeration," she says calmly.

But her amusement fades rapidly as she goes on. "The fearsome reputations of your opponents, however," she says more seriously, "are duly earned. This dark turn of events shall only become worse."

Helena sets her jaw. "Whatever comes, we're ready for a fight," she says sharply. D'Meta's Crossing was a mess - but she's not going to let these so-called gods intimidate her, all the same.

"Words easily said, but rarely proven," Morrigan says. Her lips twitch with another flicker of humor.

Helena's eyes narrow further, this time with amusement. "Yeah?" she asks cockily, folding her arms. "What do you know about all this that we don't?"

"As dangerous as Solas himself may be, his imprisonment of the gods was just," Morrigan answers, and the humor fades again in favor of grave seriousness. "To leave them unchecked would have been the very end of Thedas."

Helena is a little skeptical of any characterization of Solas as the 'good guy'. Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain may be more dangerous on some level, but Solas was one of those trumped-up gods too, and Helena hasn't forgotten that he was ready to burn the world in pulling the Veil down from it. But - she has to grudgingly admit, it does sound like his motives were at least a tad more altruistic; the other gods just want control.

"All this horror because a bunch of power-hungry gods want even more power," she mutters bitterly.

Morrigan raises an eyebrow at her. "When have the powerful among us ever done otherwise?" she says.

Helena smiles slowly. She likes this woman - she seems practical, and aware of the distinctions between those with power and those trodden under them. "So how do we stop them?"

"Set aside your notions of godhood," Morrigan says gravely. "And see them for the ancient, powerful mages they are. Standing against them shall require serious magic of your own."

Helena's smile widens. This is the opinion she had already formed of the 'gods', and she is glad to hear it confirmed. They're just mages - deadly, powerful, powerhungry... and ultimately fallible, just like every corrupt asshole the Dragons have taken down in Minrathous. They don't scare her. They should be sacred of her.

Morrigan is still talking. "When you interrupted the Dread Wolf's ritual, did you happen across any of the tools he used?" she asks.

"He had a dagger," Harding says. "But it got lost in the chaos." She frowns, clearly remembering the moment they all watched it sink into Varric's chest.

"Then you would do well to find it." Morrigan nods. "'Tis better in your hands than those of the gods."

Helena rubs her jaw thoughtfully. "Is there anything else Solas might have had that could help us? We're in his-- well, he calls it the Lighthouse."

Morrigan's eyebrows lift, and she does look briefly impressed at this. "Ah, yes! The legendary sanctum of the Dread Wolf. 'Tis said his eluvian, the Vi'Revas, could travel to any other eluvian of his choosing."

(A/N: How convenient. XD )

Harding frowns. "That's not how it works right now. It only goes to Arlathan."

"I can take a look at it!" Bellara says eagerly. "Maybe fix it, even. I know eluvians better than most."

(A/N: Bellara not beating the Merrill successor allegations. XD )

Helena brightens. She likes Bellara, despite all the weirdness Bellara just led them through, and any new resources are worthwhile right now. "Any help you can offer, we'd appreciate," she says.

Bellara nods. "If eluvians even work the same way," she qualifies hastily. "All the magic is different now." She hesitates, and then her face falls a little, her eyes widening as she considers the scope of the task ahead of them. "Our gods are back. Our *gods*. And they're killing people and blighting the world. How do we stand up against that?"

Helena remembers her earliest days with the Shadow Dragons, the first times that her willingness to throw herself into action came up against the overwhelming power of Venatori and corrupt magisters. The first times that her mentors spoke the motto to her - Shadows stand together.

It didn't really stop her from being willing to put herself in danger to get a job done - but it did remind her that she wasn't alone in the fight. Not then, and not now.

"None of us can do this alone, but we can stop them together," she says firmly. "Bellara, you're one of the only people in the world who can get our eluvian working. Harding can track down the lyrium dagger, and Neve can spot any clues we might miss that give us more information."

(A/N: LOL. "Neve can... do detective shit, idk.")

She looks around, registering how all of them seem to relax, just a little, at the reminder, and at the specific tasks laid out before them. I'm not too bad at this, she thinks with a faint smile. "Let's get to work," she says. "There's a lot of fight ahead of us."

Morrigan nods. "Indeed. Prepare yourselves well and have a care in your choices. These are the times in which legends are born - or slain."

Helena couldn't care less about being a legend. She'd happily settle for all of them just making it out of this alive.

DA 4 Veilguard predictions

Okay so I wanted to get a whole ass post about what I think is likely to happen in DA 4 done before the reveals but I haven’t had the time between work and life.

There are MASSIVE spoilers for every Dragon Age game, book, comic, and most internet theories in this post. Proceed with caution.

Also I swear like the truckers I grew up around. So CW on language.

First and foremost, I’m going to warn you all that I’m a die-hard Solavellan. If you don’t like that? Don’t bother reading this. And for gods’ sake don’t bother arguing with me about it. Depending on my mood, I’ll either first roast your face off and then eat it with bbq sauce or if I’m feeling generous, I’ll just block your ass. You like what you like about games. I’ll like what I like. I don’t shit in your porridge, I ask you to not do it to me. As I’m writing this, I’m 47 years old and I’ve been gaming since I was 9. Which means I’ve been gaming longer than a lot of you have been alive. Stop yucking on people’s yum. There’s far too little joy in this world. Go find your own.

So, this is just a partial post (albeit, in true to me fashion, an incredibly LONG one XD). It will cover stuff I think we might see revealed in things this weekend at either SGF or Xbox whatever (I have no idea why they’d bother with the Xbox thing since they hold such a small share of the gaming market these days but whatever.) We’re seeing something between Friday and Monday. Hopefully, enough to give hope to the masses.

Depending on how much time I have before I have to serve dinner I might add some more of my theories.

It’s a bit silly of me to be so obsessed about this game because my computer definitely won’t be able to handle it, and because I’m a disabled, neurodivergent author with a family to support… well… the likelihood of me being able to buy both a computer able to handle it and the game itself any time in the near future isn’t good. So, I won’t be able to play it. I am going to add my links and a go fund me to the bottom of this post (which has taken me hours to research and write so if you would like to donate to the cause I would be so deeply appreciative. Dragon Age is one of my AuDHD special interests, and it’s killing part of my soul to know I can’t participate when it comes out. I promise I’ll write all sorts of interesting stuff about it!)

Spirit Companion: I really hope it’s not Audric. 1. He’s not really a spirit, he’s a higher undead, which is a Zombie by any other term. And all the poor guy wants is to organize his library. I’ll be quite disappointed with the writers if they go this route.

So, we’ve had Faith/Wynn, Justice/Anders, and Compassion/Cole. There are two other widely known benevolent spirits in Dragon Age canon. Valor and Hope. Given what I think is gonna happen in DA4, my money is on a Hope spirit. ❓

Antivan Crow: ✅ Illario Dellamorte. ❌ (I really really hope it’s not Lucanis Dellamorte. 💩 He’s so damned annoying and gods that is NOT how an assassin operates. Here's my professional editorial opinion of why Lucanis is an absolutely terrible character.

Veil Jumper/Dalish/City Elf: ✅ Strife. ❌ Please please please? He’d be so awesome as a companion character. He’s not young! I want an older companion character. (And it would let them get away with the white hair on a darker skinned character without it being racist as fuck.) I just really hope he looks better than he did in the comics. The art style in those was just fucking terrible.

I am hoping that we can somehow romance Lace Harding. ✅ But I just don’t see how she could fit in with the reported likely classes and things I’ve personally considered.

That gives me 8 even though reports say we only get 7. But did you notice in this picture that there are 8? So either we’re gonna get a ‘secret’ companion like Loghain Mac Tir. (Three guesses who that will be and the first two don’t count.) Or they have a surprise for us. Or the art is off.

I could also see Kieren ❌ as a companion. (Morrigan’s son) He’d be just about old enough if we get the time jump reports are saying we will. He was roughly 12 in DAI. + 2 for Trespasser puts him at 14. Ten years minimum between Trespasser and DA4 puts him at 24. So, it’s possible. I could also see Vaea as a companion. But I’m not exactly sure how she would fit with classes.

Things I think we’re likely to see.

We’re going to see trans/non-binary rep. ✅ I deeply believe this is happening. I will be so sad if I’m wrong.

Sad as I am to say it. Varric is gonna die. The writing has been on the wall in drippy red marker since they fired his writer. I hate this, personally. I grew up listening to Brian Bloom (Varric’s VA) and he’s just one of my absolute favourites. But I don’t think Varric is gonna make it.

The how? I think, narratively, they’ll do it in a way that hurts Solas a very great deal. In DAI, Varric is one of the few people that Solas listens to. Apologizes to and actually talks to with a sense of respect in his tone that he rarely does with anyone else. Given events in the comic The Missing where Solas saves Varric several times… yeah. ✅️

If I were writing it? It would be an angsty as fuck scene where either something Solas does accidentally kills Varric in a friendly fire isn’t friendly sort of situation or that Solas can’t get there in time to save one of the few people he actually probably considers a friend.

So, the pain of Varric’s death will be what in the writing/editing trade we call a pinch-point for Solas’s character arc. How the player decides what happens will likely be one of those crucial choices matters points that will turn Solas down a darker path or possibly toward a redemption arc.

Flemythal isn’t dead. I’ve talked before about how she is not the happy fluffy bunny version of a mother goddess. Sure, she might be a mother goddess. But she’s the type that reminds us that mother nature is often more red in tooth and claw than nurturing.

And the lady is bent. Bent on revenge. Bent on using people to get her revenge. Just… if she ever was the good and kind person that Solas remembers? She definitely isn’t anymore.

I have a feeling given one of the stories in Tevinter Nights that FleMythal has infected Solas (vs sharing her power in a simple power up to help him save people move) with the dragon soul. Which could have been part of Mythal's soul even before the dragon had it, if some theories are correct. There’s been a lot of imagery and description of a dreadwolf like creature that is half lupine, half dragon. So, something is going on there.

And honestly, I think that’s going to be Solas’s breaking point with mommy dearest. (Please, please don’t let them have been lovers, that will squick me out so fucking bad.)

“Betrayal is always worse.” Is one of Solas’s really heartfelt lines in DAI. If I’m right, and FleMythal somehow manipulated that dragon soul she got from Kieren (talk about fucked up action right there) so that it’s gonna change Solas into a half dragon half wolf demon thing… welp.

I think FleMythal will find that Solas has a bit more backbone than he ever had in the past. He’s not alone now. He knows he’s not alone. He’s got friends. He’s got someone who deeply loves him in a romanced Solavellan playthrough. I don’t think Solas is going to be very happy with his dearest ‘best of them’ Mythal.

Best of them? Yeah. It doesn’t mean she was actually good.

So Mythal isn’t dead. I think she’s likely to be one of if not the BBEG along with whoever that voice was at the end of the teaser. My money is on Troy Baker ❌️for the VA and I’m really curious if I’m right. I’m thinking that’s probably Elgar’nan. God of Vengeance. Perhaps Mythal and Elgar’nan patch up whatever divine argument they’ve been having via celestial couples therapy or something. Who knows.

I think we’re going to see a split path depending on the choices of the player for Solas. Depending on our choices, he could go really dark, or he could have a redemption arc. Patrick Weekes tweeted to me that ‘there’s a possibility of a happy ending for Solavellan’ so I still have hope. I trust Weekes to write a satisfying conclusion to the Solavellan Romance. (I just don’t trust Bioware as far as I can throw them.) Weekes was the lead writer on this game, so I think it’s a good possibility that that’s how it’s going to be structured.

I think the game will very possibly be a multi-act structure like DAI. The first act is possibly going to be like the Hinterlands leading up to Coryphyfish blowing the hell out of Haven. I think the veil coming down is going to either be what starts off the game ✅ (like the explosion of the conclave in DAI) or will be the final ending situation of Act 1. Again. Player choices will likely affect this to some extent.

But y’all? That veil is coming down. ✅ And yes. I’m aware of that silly new name for the game. I don’t like it. (That ‘the’ was a mistake. Veilguard by itself would’ve been much better linguistically.) But if you’ve been following my ramblings about Dragon Age for a while, y’all will know I have issues with their linguistic usage and editing already.

Dumped Drunk and Dalishious did a fantastic piece on her blog about the veil. It’s here if you haven’t read it. Firstly, the veil was never meant to exist in THEDAS in the first place. If you deep dive the lore (and trust me, I really have. A LOT.) It’s obvious that the veil has been the cause of more problems than it has fixed. It’s been slowly killing magic in THEDAS since its creation. It has to come down. It’s also as holey a granny’s doilies anyway. Solas taking it down in a controlled fashion is very likely going to prevent far more deaths than if it keeps just falling apart piecemeal like it’s been doing forever. It’s unfixable and it really really needs to go. ✅

So once that veil drops… I don’t think it’s going to be as horrific as everyone has been bellyaching about forever. Solas’s often misquoted and wildly overblown lines from Trespasser (seriously do y’all even know what the word genocide means? You make me doubt.) are very likely a red herring at best. People are being willingly misled. ✅ I can’t really blame y’all.

Weekes is an absolute Master at playing people’s expectations and assumptions off of their preconceived notions, then throwing a bomb of ‘oops you were all wrong and it was right in front of you the entire time’. They’ve even said they really love to write things like that. I want to write as well as Weekes does when I grow up.

Humans existed before the veil. Why wouldn’t they afterward? Given some of the lore, Qunari also existed before the veil. Why wouldn’t they continue to? Will there be chaos? Yup. ✅ But change is often painful. And if anything needs change it’s the world of THEDAS. (Both for story reasons and for gameplay reasons.)

One of the changes I think we’re likely to see is the implosion of the Chantry. (I am absolutely hoping for this. I’m not a fan of organized religion on a grand scale like that and the Chantry has soooooo damned many skeletons in its closets and atrocities under its belt that I will absolutely celebrate when it burns to the ground.)

Which will happen if it comes out that Solas put up the veil in the first place and took it down too. The Chantry either outright claims or strongly insinuates that the maker put up the veil. It’s the cornerstone of their entire faith. Also, in the story Genetivi Dies in the End in Tevinter Nights, Genetivi is absolutely wrecked by the discovery that everything he’s ever written as a travelling Chantry Scholar has been a lie. The Chantry is going down.

So, there’s gonna be some chaos there. And that’s not going to be Solas’s fault because that veil is coming down anyway.

And can you imagine the absolutely hilarious chaos that’s gonna happen when word leaks that an elven god-mage was the one who is technically the ‘maker’ by Chantry doctrine? With all the horrific racism and sheer awfulness the Chantry has done to elves over the centuries? I’m popping popcorn.

I think we’re gonna see Felassan again. ✅️ Cause that elf isn’t dead. And no, Solas didn’t kill him. Please trust me, I’ve combed through all the lore, I’ve read The Masked Empire where it supposedly happened several times, and there is not a shred of actual proof that Solas was the one who did the deed. It’s a Weekes misdirection again. They've got the nickname Tricksy Weekes for a reason.

The actual facts about the 'murder'.

It was someone Felassan worked for.

Someone he knew.

Someone who he knew wouldn't listen to his reasoning. (Solas has been shown to actually listen to his friends and let them change his mind.)

Someone who could very likely have been female because Felassan likens the murderer to Brialla.

It was someone who could fade-walk or move in the fade.

Mythal can do that.

A Somniari/Dreamer can also fade-walk.

Probably most of the still extant Elvhenan can do it (which there were quite a few of in Mythal’s temple).

And we know from DA2 that at least one modern born Somniari/Dreamer exists in the world.

Point being, there’s no actual ‘Solas killed Felassan’ spelled out anywhere. No, not even in Cole's lines in Trespasser. Those lines only indicate that Solas knows about Felassan’s ‘death’ and that he’s sad about it. Cole talks in riddles and references to modern TV shows all the time. I have no idea why people take him even remotely literally.

I have a few theories about this.

IF Felassan’s spirit actually was killed in the fade (possible) his body wasn’t. His body would’ve been just lying there in the woods breathing like any other Somniari. Possibly made tranquil (which we know can be reversed).

What if Solas lost his original body in putting up the Veil?

What if he had a deal with Felassan or maybe came to Felassan to help him get back to his body after the attack and Felassan decided he was done and wanted to move on?

They're said to be friends. Never said to be employer/employee.

If Solas was awake and in the fade and sensed an attack on Felassan, he'd certainly have gone to help.

What if he gave his body to Solas?

Felassan's 'death' chronologically lines up to when Solas 'woke up'.

Felassan has purple eyes. So does Solas.

Felassan has fade-green magic. So does Solas.

Felassan is incredibly powerful. Stares at Solas.

Felassan knows far more about Fen'harel than even a scholar would.

Felassan knew far more about Eluvians, ancient Elvhenan, and The Forgotten Ones (Imshael is a Forgotten One) than anyone would reasonably expect any elf to know.

Felassan let Imshael see into his head about what was coming in the future. Which Imshael almost got off on. Imshael loves destruction and chaos.

I can make a list as long as my arm on similarities there. So, either Solas didn’t kill Felassan and the old? Felassan will be in the game once the veil falls, or it will be revealed that Solas has actually been wearing a (voluntary because a soul cannot take a body involuntarily) Felassan suit the entire time.

Probably blew some minds there, huh?

So given that Weekes has said that if Felassan was a popular enough character they would consider bringing him back… I think it’s likely we’ll see something to do with him again.

Also? The sheer hilarity factor of elves who do not want magic (Fenris anyone?) getting magic returned to them is going to be sweet.

I think we’ll see blood magic as a much bigger mechanic than in previous games. (And I hope they did some work on it to make it make more sense this time.) The game is going to have a lot of Tevinter content. Blood magic is a big deal there. Ergo… it’s likely.

Given some of the things that happened in Tevinter Nights, which honestly really feels like a teaser book to DA4 (I really hate the Veilguard name) I think it’s likely that we’ll see the Templars again. They’ve been in every game and book so far. I doubt they’d get rid of the useless bastards in this one.

Given some of the things in Tevinter Nights, I think it’s possible we’ll see just as many puzzles as we did in DAI, if not more. I’m hoping for more. I do love puzzles in these kinds of games.

I believe it’s highly possible that whoever drank from the Well is going to be completely fucked. Especially, if they follow a ‘kill Solas’ route. Remember who the well binds you to in Trespasser? Bingo.

I think it’s very likely that someone close to the main character is going to be a dual agent of Fen’harel. And it will not be someone we expect. We’re all gonna be side eyeing the mages after the last three games. But what if it’s a warrior or rogue who hides their magic? There was at least one character that completely hid their magic in Tevinter Nights.

We’re going to see more of the Evanuris and The Nameless/Forgotten ones. I base that on Imshael being in DAI and in Masked Empire and some of the dialogue between Felassan and Imshael.

Titans. We’re going to see the titans waking up and being royally pissed off. This is going to cause so much chaos for the dwarves. Who will also regain magic and a kinda creepy hive-mind thing, too. Again. That’s not going to be Solas’s fault.

We’ll have at least one Gala event. Very possibly in Minrathous or Vyrantium. Hopefully with better clothing.

Finally, for things I think likely… The Grand Necropolis in Nevarra is gonna burn. People seem to forget that Solas doesn’t just fight for the freedom of the Elves. He fights for the freedom of spirits too.

In case you haven’t read it… the Nevarrans imprison spirits in the corpses of their dead using mages called the Mortalitasi. I really don’t think that is going to sit well with Solas. In fact, I know it doesn’t. It’s spelled out in Tevinter Nights.

I think it’s probably going to be a quest line for the main character to go and save the necropolis or let it burn to free the spirits. This, of course, will be one of the choices that matter and likely another pinch point on whether Solas goes dark or gets a redemption arc. It will also deeply affect Nevarran politics and the way the country is run. The Mortalitasi basically rule the monarchs of Nevarra sooooo. It’s gonna cause chaos there too.

We’ll obviously see a lot of chaos with the Qunari. Their culture is splintering already. The Antaam have decided to go off the rails and attack anything and everything. Maybe the Ben-Hassrath will be able to rein that in. Maybe not. I don’t have very many predictions on the Qunari to be honest. They’re at war with Tevinter at the end of Tevinter Nights so that war will figure heavily in the game, most likely. But how that’s going to play out I haven’t a clue.

Some mechanics I think we might see.

Fade-touched weaponry that can stop mages.

Elemental interactions. (IE: Magic lightning x water = lots of zap)

Magically treated arrows. ✅️

More magical bombs and poison effects. (I might be just wishfully dreaming there because one of the things I miss from DAO is the poisons and traps mechanics. They felt like an afterthought in DA2 and DAI. I want to be able to make cool traps and set up ambushes again.) But there was that story with Dorian in Tevinter Nights where several of those things were used, so maybe? It would be cool.

I think it’s likely that we’ll see the Despair Demon from Tevinter Nights. And I’m still so mad that they fired the writer of that story. It’s one of my favourites.

Some things that are very possible? But I’m not sure of and could just be wishful thinking.

I think we might see Abelas again. (Abelas romance? Pretty please? ❌😭) His story does have one of those endings that kills him so it’s possibly just wishful thinking. But they brought Leliana back for DAI, so I don’t see why they couldn’t with Abelas too. And also, I have a voice kink and love his VA Matthew Gravelle.

We might see non-linear storytelling. I kind of hope we do because I love non-linear storytelling. Perhaps one storyline will be Arlathan (through dreams or time travel perhaps?) and the fall of it so we finally get some answers to all of this lore. (Please let us get some answers!)

We may see some problems from a rather irrational faction of people who say they’re working for Solas but are using methods he would never approve of. They may be sort of like the Venatori in the last game. Though I do think it’s likely we might have to fight a few more of the Venatori too. ✅ They’re still out there having really messed up rituals and stuff to destroy things.

I think it’s possible given a few clues in the lore and in Tevinter Nights that we’re either going to see not just a double blight (regular darkspawn and red lyrium darkspawn) but a triple blight with the green/yellow lyrium found in Ghilan'nain’s labs. Remember that Ramesh only destroyed one of them. There are eleven more. I think that’s going to very possibly be a big part of this game.

Settings/Levels/Areas I think likely.

So, we already know that the game will be taking place in the north of THEDAS. That’s a no brainer after the map reveal in the teaser.

But where exactly will they take us?

In Tevinter, I think it’s very possible we’ll see Minrathous ✅ and Vyrantium. We may see the Black Divine’s/Archon’s palace.

We’ll see Arlathan Forest. ✅ That I’m almost certain of. We’ll probably also see ancient Arlathan somehow. (Dreams or barely used time-travel mechanic from DAI?)

We’re going to be spending a lot of time in the deep roads and even farther below the deep roads. And dear developers please let me have some answers to all this lore.

We may spend some time inside a Titan again.

Pre-veil drop, we may spend some time in the fade. I actually hope that with the veil dropping we get to rescue whoever got left behind in DAI. That would make my heart so happy.

We’re likely to see the crossroads at least a little bit.

Antiva! Gods I’m looking forward to seeing Antiva.

Anderfels/Weisshaupt. We have no idea at the end of DAI or Tevinter Nights or Last Flight what the hell is going on up there, so I think we’ll have to find out in the game. Also… more chaos that is most definitely not Solas’s fault.

Rivain?

I think we’ll see the Golden City. And the Black City. Which is likely the same place.

And I don’t think it’s up in the sky. I think it’s deep underground below the deep roads.

Ships! I think we’re going to see some more ships. That’s based on a story in Tevinter nights and some of the splash art. But gods I really want more ships. Especially in a place like Minrathous or Antiva for fuck’s sake!

I think we might see some underwater levels for various reasons. And I hope we do.

These next things are honestly my hopes and dreams that would make me so happy, but I have little to back them up with as far as lore or books/comics and supplementary materials.

Polyamory options. PLEASE give me polyam romance options. BG3 did it. It’s 2024 and only 30% of dating people are monogamous. Get with the times! ❌️

I want CC body sliders so bad. ✅ Give me the ability to make a fat player character please! Not just because a lot of gamers tend to be on the heavier side but honestly? Because a fat adventurer is going to be able to go farther than any skinny twig. Real strong men/women/enbies do not look like gym bunnies and models. They have a good layer of fat over that muscle for stability. Guess what fat is? It’s energy storage. A fat adventurer is going to be able to survive longer than a twig. I could go on… but come on Bioware. Be brave. Let me have a fat adventurer. ✅️

Decent. Fucking. Hair. ✅ Please let the CC have decent hair options. LONG hair options! Let me have my long haired elfy prince dude!

Isabela cameo. She’s one of my favourite DA2 characters and some of the early splash art makes me hopeful we’ll see her again. ✅️

I’m hoping for DAO origin style stories for the Main Player Character. But ideally? We’d have something like BG3 where we could play one of a number of origin stories or make our own blank slate character. ❌ Given the gossip going around the gaming community I’m thinking this is unlikely, but damn do I want it.

Useful. Mounts. Please let us have actually useful mounts. And GRIFFONS. ✅ Give me flying mounts you cowards!

Prosthetic using characters. ✅ Bioware has the worst track record when it comes to ableism, but gods please. They’ve got it set up perfectly with Inky losing their arm. There’s a prosthetic leg user in Tevinter Nights. PLEASE LET ME HAVE PROSTHETIC USING CHARACTERS.

Better Crafting Options. The crafting was okay in DAI. Especially if you mod it in so you can buy the stuff to do so easier (I really hate killing dragons but it’s the best crafting material!). But it also often felt more like an afterthought?

Better. Clothes. Seriously. Give me some razzle dazzle with the clothing. ESPECIALLY since we’re going to Tevinter where how you dress is absolutely important!

I know this is sniffing the genie smoke here, but could we have actually attractive armour options? With BRIGHT colours? Research shows that a lot of historical armour was 1. Gorgeous and well fitting. 2. Brightly painted! Let me have bright colours! (And please not the yellow plaid. Ugh.)

I hope for more gardening options in whatever base we end up using. I loved the gardening options in DAI, but they weren’t big enough for my plant loving heart.

I really want to see Solas in flying Wolfie form. We see him like that in Tevinter Nights. So, I really hope we get to see him like that in game.

Finally… and I know I’m high on my own hopes here… I really hope we get the gifting options back. Completely unattached to approval is fine. I just want to be able to find the perfect gift for my companions like I do in real life with my friends. It brings me so much joy.

Things they’re likely to fuck up.

Sadly, I think there’s some things Bioware is very likely to fuck up. This could just be me being too pessimistic, but they’ve screwed these things up throughout the entire series and to my knowledge they didn’t hire any diversity consultants in the making of DA4 sooooo…

Ableism. Bioware has a terrible record when it comes to ableism. ✅ (the demon design is going to cause visual strain and possibly bad effects for epileptic gamers).

White-washing. The North of THEDAS is like the South of Earth. If they make most of the people there have light skin I will probably boycott the fuck out of Bioware for the rest of my life. ✅️

No fat character ability in CC.

Really fucked up hair options. Seriously Bioware. It’s bad.

And I think they’re going to be in trouble when it comes to the Lords of Fortune. Look. I love the idea of the class and I even love how a lot of them are described in the books. But it’s absolutely glomming onto the stereotype of the Romani, and I don’t think that’s going to go over well at all. It won’t for me with my Romani heritage, and it really shouldn’t for anyone. Cause you know what that stereotypical usage is? It’s Racism. Bioware also doesn’t have the best track record regarding racism either.

As more thoughts come to me I’ll either append stuff to this post or do others (probably the latter.)

I would like to be done with my exam, but apart from that… maybe turn time to spring? I dunno.

Sky

Sky I’m a little torn on, because on the one hand, as the first hero I feel like he should have something very impressive, like a big cat of some sort, or a huge bird (loftwing or otherwise), but also... a remlit just fits him so well. Small and sweet and sleepy, but also fierce and vicious and capable of being a real threat. So I don’t know XD

Four

Four is tricky, I’ve never been sure of what I like for him. Hummingbirds are small and colorful, so I like that, but also the humor in making him be something like a bear or an elephant would be amazing.

That being said, I think I like hummingbird best, but I also think a cat would fit him very nicely, or a mouse or even a butterfly.

Wind

I like Wind as a seagull, and various other seabirds a lot, but I very much like him as a cat. It fits the ship theme, and he meows in game, come on.

Closely related to that, I also think he’d be great as a lion cub, because then there’d be the connection to the King of Red Lions, and it fits with how he’s small but mighty, plus if he does end up being king of new Hyrule someday, the regalness of a lion fits there rather well.

Warriors

Warriors I like as a number of things... I feel like a unicorn fits his sort of regal image, plus he could stab stuff with his horn and that would be cool. I’m thinking like the one on the cover of the last Narnia book. The one with the blood on its horn. That one.

But also, I think a peacock would be really funny, and also a wolf would fit him nicely because of the teamwork aspect they have going, so I’m not totally sure. But unicorn would be pretty cool.

Hyrule

Hyrule I particularly like as one of three things: a jackalope, a fox, or a deer. A jackalope because it ties in to his magical side and also fits with Legend’s dark world form, a fox, because they’re clever and tricky and invoke images of being hunted, and a deer because they also are hunted, but because they’re also sort of mythical feeling.

So one of those. But I could see him as any number of forest creature honestly, Hyrule is just like that XD

Wild

Ah Wild. I feel like he (just like everybody else XD) could be any number of things. I’ve written (and read) fics where he’s a fox, which I like a lot because it fits in with Time and Twilight’s canine theme, plus they’re playful, but also clever. His fur would be a silvery-bluish color I think.

I also like the idea of him being a squirrel because of the practical reasons; good at climbing, good at hoarding food, known for crazy stunts, plus if you made him a flying squirrel you’d have the glider thing too.

I’ve also seen him as a dragon (which is just cool) and a phoenix too, which is neat because of rebirth and all that stuff. But I think my favorite for him would be either fox or squirrel.

What is the main lesson of your story?

…which one? XD

Okay. I’ll go into my three current projects + a bit of general insights.

Most of my stories center around the ideas of found family, and finding love in unexpected places. There’s also (nearly always) a theme of self-acceptance, and that what you think are your biggest flaws can actually be something really awesome.

In my original novel, the protagonist goes through a character arc where he gets to turn one of his disabilities into the advantage that saves the day. It might sound corny, but as someone with that actual disability, I think it’s Hella neat. Hard-of-Hearing people, represent.

For Stories Told and Forgotten (DA Veilguard, Emmrook fix-it fic), I think the overarching theme is something along the lines of “the only way is through” coupled with “despair doesn’t last forever”.

For The World’s Fair Hotel (Lokius horror set in 1893), which is something of a classic horror story, it’s about… the Venn diagram where “You’re strong enough on your own” meets “your friends/found family = your biggest strength”.

What did you use as inspiration for your world building?

Original novel - everything from classic Brit Crime murder mysteries to epitaphs. With vampires. And a light whiff of steampunk.

Stories - primarily the Dragon Age games. I love the lore, and was saddened when so much of it seems to have gotten lost in the chaos that was developing DA4. I haven’t had a chance to read the books or watch the series etc, but I’ve loved the world since DA Origins. I’m even using one of the codex entries as inspiration for the Emmrook romance - a tragic love story between a mortal and a spirit.

World’s Fair Hotel - various documentaries on H H Holmes I’ve caught over the years, but also the vibe of The Devil In Me. And, as always with my Loki fanfics, Norse mythology and folklore. Any fellow Scandinavians out there? Hi!

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, or help them grow as a person?

I just want to write stories that are good fun. Whether that’s full on Fantasy romances or corporate conspiracy Thrillers, or serial killer Horror with romantic subplots. The reader will take away what they will from the text, and I’m fine with that.

Original novel - solving the suspicious death of the protag’s mentor/father figure. Stopping the killer from getting away with murder.

Stories - save the world. It doesn’t get much bigger than that.

World’s Fair Hotel - both Loki and Mobius are Very Concerned with 1) finding each other before it’s too late, and 2) getting out of the Murder Castle.

How many chapters is your story going to have?

Original novel is 28 chapters in total, clocking in at 84k words.

Stories - WiP. As many as it needs, as I’m pretty much fixing the plot of the whole game. Yes, I am a bit bonkers.

World’s Fair Hotel - No more than ten chapters. We’re entering the home stretch in chapter 7, which should be ready for uploading within the week. :3

Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?

Original novel - I’m going to give it a final revision/edit after some excellent feedback I got from an editor, and then it’s back into the query trenches for me. Going to try finding an agent, or an indie publisher willing to take it (and me) on.

Stories and WFH are obviously fanfic. All my fanfic can be found on AO3. My username is “andthekitchensink” - because I tend to throw absolutely everything into my fics, and I genre hop like you wouldn’t believe.

When did you start writing?

From the moment I could write? Like, aren’t we all descendants of storytellers? :) My first novel-length project was when I was…12? 13? I never finished that one, and it’s in Swedish. But I like the bare bones of it. I started writing fanfic in my late teens, once I discovered shounen ai, and sadly stopped in my early twenties due to crappy fandoms and Life getting in the way. Then a little game called Detroit: Become Human came out, and I woke up one day thinking “Fuck this shit. I’m gonna write what I WANT TO READ and screw what everyone else thinks.”

Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr?

I’m a pantser at heart - as in I write by the seat of my pants - but I’ve found a little bit of planning ahead makes it easier for me to keep track of a story. I use bullet points A LOT, but always with the tacit agreement - between me and my brain - that nothing is sacred, and everything is up for revising if the story needs it, or the characters take things in a different direction. And believe you me, I always end up scrapping things I’ve planned will happen, and the story is never worse off for it. But! Don’t throw away text you love! Keep it in a separate document, or several. You’ll never find out where those paragraphs or sentences belong if you delete them.

And, one last tip: trust your writer gut. That thing Character A insisted should be kept in the beginning of the story, you know, that Thing you have no idea where that came from? It might just reveal its purpose in a much later chapter. If you’ve had that sort of epiphany, you know what I’m talking about. And if you’re just starting your writing journey - you’ll know when it happens. It’s the best feeling ever.

Trust yourself. Trust your stories. Trust the characters, whether they’re your original babies, or beloved fandom blorbos.

Writer Interview Game

Thank you, @gingerlegacy07 for the tag! Y'all should check her out! She's amazing and a great writer :]

When did you start writing?

Hm, I think I started writing ever since I was 9. It was at first just a little children's book. I've always liked drawing and writing, and coming up with crazy things, lol.

I loved taking Creative Writing class when I was 17, and that's when I also started writing my own original novel.

Writing fanfiction, I started about a year ago, with Hogwarts Legacy. I just had a couple ideas and decided to just give it a shot and write them. Now, I'm still writing HL fanfics and enjoying it so much :]

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

Ummm, I'm not sure. Maybe enemies to lovers as I personally don't think I can write that wonderful trope well. But I love to see it, like Zutara, lol.

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

No, as I write with my own style. I might be inspired by works of others sometimes, but I intend to make stories with my own take and my own way.

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

Well, if I write at my home, I usually do it at my desk! Per my name, I have some dragon stuff on my desk, lol, as well as a ceramic cup of pens and pencils and a lamp.

If I feel bored at my desk, I would move to the kitchen table or the living room, just to have a change of scenery. I also sometimes go to a coffee shop and camp there for a few hours while drinking mochas and such.

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?

I often listen to songs and think of which pairs or characters fit them. And even when I watch a show or movie, I find myself wondering what characters from HL would be like in it, hahaha.

So honestly...the most effective way is just me lost in thought XD. I have one interesting thought, then I keep following that thought, and it just builds up in there. And my creativity has me start to write it.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

Family is huge in my writing. Whether it's blood family or - more frequently - found family. Also friends that are like family. And just being supportive and having healthy relationships. Wonderful happy love and fluff everywhere!

It doesn't surprise me, lol. I don't like sad endings or anything too depressing. I can't handle it, and I always want happy endings after many rough trials or trauma.

With Sebastian, I always have him redeemed when he's in a relationship with my MC Estelle. And she needed healing of her own too. And they just make each other so happy and they love each other so much. All the fluff for them and my other otps :]

What is your reason for writing?

It's mainly because I wanted to a certain story and didn't see it out there, so I decided to write it myself. In doing so, I hope that others enjoy the stories too.

Anyone that's seen the majority of my incorrect quotes or read some of my stories know I'm a huge shipper of Garrelda. I love them to bits, I'll forever captain that ship if need be, lol. So, when HL fics were still coming out, I didn't any (if at all) or Poppinis. I decided to give it a shot and write for those pairings, more of Poppinis at first. I loved Poppinis as a ship first before I fleshed out my take on Garrelda more.

In the end, I write stories that I randomly get inspired to write, and I just send them out there, not knowing if others wanted to read such a thing, lol

Is their any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

Any positive comment showing love for the story just makes me so happy. Seeing them appreciate it always makes me smile. Those comments help me remember people do like what I write, and it's a nice reminder :]

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

Eh, I don't know if there's anything I want to be thought about. But I guess a "provider" of Garrelda content, as I often write that pairing, especially with my recent on-going fic. Or just a "truly writing dragon", lol, as I keep sending out more stories for people to read in the HL fandom.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

I think writing emotions and characters. I try to make the characters feel real, and I do my best in describing them so they're relatable to readers.

How do you feel about your own writing?

I feel like it's improving, which is great to see. But that makes me grimace about my first fics I wrote, as I know they can be a bit rough. But that's how it goes, and I do feel pretty proud of how far I've come, and I do like my writing more from time to time. I admittedly am still my worst critic, though.
