A smelly old ICA Sirene 135, a 9x12 folding camera from the 1920s
I don’t really need another folder, I really don’t, but the ICA Sirene 135 was so cheap that I thought I could take the ground glass from this one and fit it into the back of the Stölma II folding camera so I could use that with the KW Patent Etui. Basically this was a back for the Patent Etui. Of course it was from the Kamerastore’s ‘Not Passed’ category, it has ‘flaws that will affect typical…

Still trying to figure out my mood... good day at work yesterday and finished up the evening developing a roll of Ilford HP5 35mm film. I ran the roll through one of my antiques cameras. had some trouble rewinding the film though. The winder was stuck in the down position, so I had to use an icepick to lift it up. Went through the winding and it just didn’t feel right or sound right... so what do you do open the back to check really quickly... film was still not rewound. so into the dark bag we go. Trying to work with something you are not familiar with.... I opted to get the film case out of the camera, and pull off the film and wind it back into the film case. seeming like more work that it should be bit if you even fart with film it coils and twists up. I got it back into the case, then grabbed my tank and spool and started that process. everything wend pretty well. I am using a monobath so only 2 steps develop and rinse.... of course I knew at least some of the roll was ruined by me opening the camera back, but it is an old camera I have never used so there is some anticipation that the entire roll is garbage. while rinsing I try and glimpse to see if there are any frames that might be good or at lease look like there is an image.... to my great pleasure I see a lot when I pull the film off of the spool. Maye in a few days I will scan them and share... I expect some finger prints and scratches since there was some struggles.... but the feeling you get when you see that there is at least something... oh it feels good! The above balls are for sale at https://www.shapeart.org/

Another 100-year-old folding camera: This time the Stölma II, a 1920s folder from Scandinavia
Following my failure in the search for a rear viewing screen suitable for use with the KW Patent Etui with the Ernemann Heag, it was back to the drawing board. Mind you, it wasn’t long before another folding camera turned up on the Kamerastore website, and this time I thought I might be lucky. The Stölma II folding camera was made in the 1920s and sold by the Swedish importer Stölma. From what I…

Hope I get it!
I am going to an auction today, various photo stuff,...this is what happens when you die and your family can stop and get rid of all your shit. The auctioneer said they just threw away most of the stuff. I guess someone stopped then and sent it to the auction.

Working on my office having less of a mixed theme (especially cowboy) and more of #themagicians #brakebills esthetic. Other than taking everything off and dusting, this area was pretty easy. The rest of it is going to be slow going. But of course the #cameras #antiquecameras #vintagecameras #burlesque photos and @stevedietgoedde postcards will remain. #toomuchstuff
