Major Arcana Tarot Prompts

New Beginnings: A little of both, to be honest! She's a young woman who's had a few false starts in her life... lots of bad beginnings to things. In a way, it's kind of nice to start again - 'just' her... no lovers, no friends even (besides the one NPC). And this time... she's a good bit more world wise/socially adept than she was last time she had a sort of fresh start. The 'frightening' (or intimidating, I'd say) thing about it is... also starting with no one, really. Maybe even the thought that she had people once... but not now.

You have to start over.

There's no one to lean on, to commiserate, party, joke - no one to vent to... or just relax with. As she (and I, lol) have learned ... making new friends as a young adult is harder than it seems at first. (Especially when you're fel-tainted... even the most well-meaning people can subconsciously judge you before you've ever met, when you have a rack - of horns - like hers. :P)

Fate/Destiny: And this one is a good one because I actually don't think she tends to give this sort of thing much thought? She's not even two centuries old yet, and the trajectory of her life has changed so drastically so many times... well, destiny must be mutable, right? She was a pretty little noblewoman, once upon a time, destined to be married off to another noble to unite their noble names, yadda yadda... then the Scourge attacked. She'd wanted to be a Farstrider, but ended up becoming a Blood Knight, also because of the zombie apocalypse that destroyed her home and people.

Now... does that mean that the zombie apocalypse was fate, though? Fate and Destiny aren't things she thinks about much, because it's a bit like trying to really fathom time-travel. At a certain point... well, you don't have the answers, so why waste time worrying about something that's probably not even real? She's pretty sure, though, that she is the one making the decisions about where her life goes, and not some mystical thing called 'fate.'

Relationships: I think relationships are important to her, but she's less inclined to wear her heart on her sleeve anymore. She's less inclined to share her heart, and her self - the real Lily, so to speak - with just anyone. In any kind of relationship - romantic, or platonic - she's committed. She's a loyal friend. And having had that tossed aside, before... well, she's realized that not everyone deserves your loyalty or affection. Having a significant other would be nice, though, sure! It's something lots of people in the world desire, after all - someone who understands and accepts them as they are, and calls them on their shit when they're being a shit. She's been hurt a lot, though... she's been played, jerked around, lied to (kidnapped by a demon more than once), abandoned - so... a relationship will happen when it happens! Or it won't! I let the characters decide, as they interact, what they want!

These days you'd be more inclined to think 'ah, she's the sailor that flirts but never commits'... because that's what she wants people to see, most of the time. It's good armor! The leather-clad half-demon smoking a cigarette and making eyes at you across the room probably also isn't safe for just anyone to bed/date, either. Real, long-term commitment from her will take someone else who is also committed to a very slow burn that involves establishing a lot of trust. (She also just... kind of has her types. Most of the time, those she's drawn to are... well, monstrous as people. >_>)
