Some great insights from Zach Brown (not to be confused with McLaren's Zac Brown) on the importance of tyre management and the strategy Ferrari had planned for the first stint at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix...

If I keep reading comments from people comparing Logan and Colapinto I swear I'm going to stop being a friendly blog and I'm going to be one of the most fucking aggressive blogs.
To begin with, they did not have the same car, LOGAN DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE SAME CAR AS ALEX and let's not forget that JV was not the one who saw that spark in Logan, he never saw him as a possible driver for Williams or as someone to accompany Alex, the the one who saw that potential in Logan was Jost Capito, not James. Not to mention all those derogatory comments from journalists towards Logan for being American (I really don't understand why that was a problem).
Colapinto has the support of both the Argentines and his own fans and James himself. Logan didn't really have a support network like Franco's, which, realistically, added to the pressure of being in one of the most competitive sports, is not exactly the most favorable for a person's self-esteem and confidence.
Logan was not only compared to Alex, his teammate with more experience in both F1 and Williams, but also to Oscar, Oscar, who drives a McLaren, who probably had more experience regarding F1 cars, Oscar, that always stood out in the rest of the categories and that has Mark Webber as support.
There's really no way to compare Logan and Franco, firstly, because they're both completely different, and secondly, because they were never on equal footing.

December 8, 2023 - Hundreds of people gathered in Guernica, Basque Country, to form a human flag in solidarity with the Palestinian people, as air raid sirens filled the air. The town of Guernica became symbol and a rallying cry against war crimes and the slaughter of civillians after German and Italian planes bombed the town for Franco's fascists in 1937, during the Spanish civil war, killing hundreds of innocent civillians. Lost respect for Ferrari a long time ago. Lost respect for Charles, too now. It's always the ones from whom you don't expect this type of behaviour. Saying "it's his home race.. he wanted to do something spectacular" so mockingly said a lot. That's the same driver who was crying to get a home race win. How are you going to show your double standards like this. Going from not talking about Lewis to not be disrespectful to Carlos to openly mocking his situation in front of the media just baffled the fuck out of me. Also, reprimanding Carlos with hand gestures just after the race. I know Carlos is too level headed, he'll just take it. There's no friend in this sport but all this has been such an eye-opener to me.

I’m going to hold your hand when I say this but some of you need to realize that if Devin Grayson used racist stereotypes in Nightwing 1996 writing Dick and Yoska then she was also using racist stereotypes writing Catalina Flores
the concept of an aggressive, sexually predatory Latina is not new, it’s not original, and frankly it’s tiring to see be repeated
acting like the way Catalina was/is portrayed in canon/fanworks is totally divorced from her ethnicity is how we get fics where Dick is triggered by hearing someone speak spanish (not even the specific pet names that Cat used, just spanish in general??!)
and I like Catalina as an antagonist, at least a secondary one, I think the Blockbuster arc has held up well compared to some other runs, I think that Devin is a decent writer with pretty good pacing for comic books which I can appreciate, and shockingly, I’m fine with the rape taking place in canon and the aftermath, as I know that the run was cut short (I’m a dead-dove fan and I’ve always liked any kind of whump, I can see why others don’t though and I understand that)
I also think that fanwriters need to be aware of bigoted source material, and that they don’t need to exacerbate these problems by flattening Catalina into a hypersexual, “crazy Latina” caricature which Devin even didn’t fully do in her run
I promise guys, there is a way to write her that doesn’t lean into stereotypes but still has her doing a terrible thing, I pinky swear

If i was in charge of the character of stella i would make her the principal victim(alongside octavia) of his guilt tripping tactics, i think that stella could at least have some respect for stolas before the affair, trying to please him, learn astronomy to conect with him, and trying to be a good wife, but stolas being the narcissistic prick he is just thinks about himself and dont apreciate stella's efforts and that ends with stella enraged(with stolas, herself, maybe both?).
This lyrics of labour says it all
"Apologies from my tongue, and never yours
Busy lapping from flowing cup and stabbing with your fork
I know you're a smart man (I know you're a smart man), and weaponise
The false incompetence, it's dominance under a guise
If we had a daughter, I'd watch and could not save her
The emotional torture, from the head of your high table
She'd do what you taught her, she'd meet the same cruel fate
So now I've gotta run, so I can undo this mistake
At least I've gotta try"
The part of the weaponize incompetence is really fitting for Stolas.
Most of the cheaters/trashman use the incompetence to avoid doing tasks that are MEANT to be fullfied between BOTH MEMBERS of the relationship.
It feels as if in this case that you are telling, Stella was doing all the joint tasks of a couple, including, for example, the ones they are supposed to do like Goetia (with political themes). and I can honestly see Stolas using the excuse that his work is limited to professions (even using his depression as an excuse) to not give more to the family.
Stolas doesn't care that Stella wants to get close to him or get along with him, she is just a step up in status for him.
AND THE GUILT TRIPPING IS SO REAL.
Stella has the status she has thanks to her marriage to Stolas, he could use that as a way to control her from leaving or from feeling in DEBT to him (after all, the luxuries she has she couldn't afford. alone) and even applied something similar to Octavia but with a different approach.
if we go with Stolas not really caring about Octavia in this AU, I can see him doing a Mother Gothel on her when she does something he doesn't like or wants to leave the house. Tell her how that is "harming" her, how hell is dangerous, that she couldn't do it on her own, etc.
Overall, it's a very fucked up idea, but VERY GOOD ANON, keep it up.
____

During the Spanish revolution and the ensuing civil war, Spanish workers and peasants engaged in anti-clerical violence against the Church that spent centuries raping, molesting, murdering, beating, abusing, and oppressing them.

When the president of the United States James Monroe, in 1823, formulated that first global doctrine of his country, America for Americans, a Chilean who traded in the ports of the Pacific wrote to a friend: Yes, but you have to be very careful: to North Americans, the only Americans are themselves.
