"i think threshold is silly and largely gobbledygook, but it’s not that bad and not the worst voyager episode. the worst voyager episode, i maintain, is alliances, in which janeway goes “we should forgive people and make alliances! it’s the federation way! :D”, makes an alliance with an alien race she hasn’t researched or investigated, and when this predictably blows up in her face 15 minutes later, goes “this CLEARLY happened because we DIDN’T follow the federation ways! from now on, no more forgiving people and making alliances! >:(“

like did the writers actually read their own script? jfc it’s like they were actively trying to make janeway awful."

Hi y’all! I’m Anna. I’m 17 (18 at the end of January).

My experience as an Asuka kin is interesting. I feel I behave like her. And I’ve had a kin awakening that happened during my recent hospitalization. I’m working to make my physical self like my kin. Like exercising to get a body like my past self, wearing outfits that make me look good, etc.

^^I kin as Janeway as a coping mechanism when I’m in a situation.

I like So9 and Chakotay. Obvioulsly, Janeway wasn't honestly enough in her own desir, and I thought she manipulated Chakotay a lot.

Am I the only one who finds shipping Janeway with Chakotay a bit... iffy?

Scratch that, am I the only one who finds shipping Janeway with anyone iffy?

Cause, like... Janeway is married. She has a husband back on Earth. Like, a big part of her motivation throughout the whole show was getting back to Earth AND her husband.

Now, I’m not denying that Janeway probably had feelings for Chakotay (And, while we’re on the subject, probably Seven as well), there are certainly episodes where the two shot a few misty eyes at each other. There was definitely temptation is what I’m saying.

But the thing is, it could only ever be temptation and nothing else. Kind of the whole point of their ship teasing is that they couldn’t be together. No matter what Janeway or Chakotay (or Seven) felt, Janeway was still married. She still had a husband waiting for her. And giving up on the idea that she might ever see her husband again is the same thing as giving up on the idea that she would ever see Earth again.

And that is something that Captain Kathryn Janeway would never, never do.

ADDENDUM: I feel like it shouldn’t need to be said, but I obviously wrote this before I saw the episode where Voyager got their letters from home. Matter of fact, I was like two or three episodes away from it when I wrote this.

Her boots keep sinking into the sand of the shallow, nameless sea on this foggy, nameless planet. Kathryn's knee aches as she brushes sand and water from her clothes. The aliens who were shooting at them must the same ones who shot down their shuttle, judging by the frequency of their disruptors.

"Not our most cheerful welcome," she mutters to Beverly, leaning on the shuttle to get to her feet. "Are you all right?"

Beverly nods, one hand on the shuttle. Her other hand pressed into her hip. "I'm fine. " Then she falls, knees buckling as her eyes roll back.

double trouble: [character] is sick and injured.  (same unlucky away mission, several hours later).

"You're still bleeding."

"I'll try to stop."

"Beverly--"

"Some disruptors have a-" she pauses, licking her dry lips, "-anti-coagulant effect."

"And you think this one does?"

Kathryn presses a little harder into the bandage and finally Beverly gasps.

"Ouch."

"Stay with me."

"Sorry."

Kathryn shifts, moving her face closer to Beverly's. At first she was far too pale, but now her cheeks are pink, and when she opens her eyes, they're too bright. Touching her cheek, Kathryn winces. "You have a fever."

"Must be the disruptor."

"It can do that?"

Beverly smiles wearily upwards. "They can do many awful things."

WIP questions....

Oh wow some actually asked!!

EEEEEE!! Okay then lets do this...

3: Does your WIP have a title? If so, explain its significance. If not, what are you calling it for now?

Well, there’s actually a handful of WIP’s so can i mention them all?

Well it’s my Tumblr so yeah I guess I can.

The big one is “The Vigil” which is still being posted week by week so you may know of it.

There’s also these three...

“Drink!”. It’s literally about nothing really, no deep plot or meaning.

I simply saw this scene in my head and had to write it.

What is it? It’s a very drunk Seven and Raffi trying to help each other stumble/fall back to their quarters after a night spent drinking in La Sirena’s crew mess area.

It’s been floating about on my iPad since last September.

Then there’s “Most hated people in the galaxy”.

Probably a one shot and partly written. Partly based on Hugh’s line about the xB’s being the most hated people in the galaxy, and Raffi mentioning at Vashti that Picard was basically trending on Vashti’s version of the internet, I had this idea that Seven herself might frequently be the target of anti-xB sentiment and how it might affect her?

Then there’s my problematic fic... “You must comply”.

It’s a Seven/Janeway sort of fic only (gasp!!!) I’ve never been fond of Kathryn Janeway.

The one thing I do however love about Janeway is the moments seen in several episodes where Janeway oversteps the mark somewhat and loses control.

Think her interrogation of crew in “Equinox”, that out of control Janeway tone of voice and of course her “murder face” expression - THAT JANEWAY!

So... this fic came about as a private fic swap with someone (you know who you are!!) which was a bit/lot darker and not my usual genre to write at all. Infact I squirm at the thought of writing anything remotely sexual.

So what we have here in “You must comply” is fic set during the Voyager episode “The gift” with newly liberated Seven still in the brig and my overstepping the mark Janeway having to find a way to keep Seven from attempting to find a way of contacting the Borg.

The issue I have with posting this fic is that it there’s a lack on consent in Janeway’s actions and I don’t want to upset anyone.

But on the other hand if I post enough warnings at the start and in descriptions surely that’s enough for a reader to decide to either read or scroll on by?

7: What are you most proud of?

The Vigil!!!

I love it because I started it back in February when I was still on furlough.

I was having ups and downs with this total disruption to my routine and I just loved sitting down to write this.

Chapter after chapter just poured out of me.

I’m now back at work and STILL writing the damned thing although now work is so much busier (transport industry) my writing time is sadly much less but it’s still bloody going! I have posted up to chapter 15 and am currently working on 17.

8: What is your biggest challenge?

Writing anything remotely sexual without wanting to run away, bleach my eyes and hide under a rug 😅😅😅
