There's a reason this site sucks and is so profoundly hateable sometimes.

The reason is that since it's the nerd site (beaten out only by Reddit bc its r/topic function allows people to geek out to the max in one specific subject and build forums), where people dedicate essay-length blog posts to contrast (or compound) each other's interpretation of your favorite fictional characters through the most minute lore analysis possible, going "um actually" with all the casualness allowed by such a free reblog feature. And where is it used most of all? Why, to explain away absurdly mediocre or outright bad stuff like the Star Wars Prequels into being "Secretly Good™️" because let's face it, the alienation of living and working into capitalist society has stunted most of us (mostly us Westerners who get to enjoy the full breadth of consumerism) into needing to preserve their childhood security blankets. Of course, sometimes it's not that. Sometimes it's media analysis that wants to have a point and is actually done with more of a grain of salts. But most times, it is that. And sometimes it's cute, most times it doesn't involve the usual BS of manchild fannish behavior as Reddit does (probably bc there's a lot less cishet men).

But then some people here will apply that same mentality and behavior of politics.

And no, you just can't "um actually" your way of rightly being called a genocide and fascism enabler for supporting Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Applying character arcs and lore to reality is brainrot. Yes, friend, I know that their hands are tied by the system. And you have to hammer the story into making sense, into being good, don't you? Because deep down, you're more aware. Re: the contrapoints twilight video, yes she does in fact cite her sources, puts 'em up on the screen and everything, only her sources are more philosophers/queer authors/queer rights activists/religious texts than other video essayists. I've been seeing a lot of backlash about her because the terfs have remembered she exists, but not that she made an inappropriate joke about native people as a whole, and certainly not about any real life people who've been harmed (she does mock some philosophers and authors she doesn't agree with, but to be fair she still credits them and makes it clear that those are just her personal opinions). She does talk about cannibalism, but not as in native people = cannibals. That's two separate sections of the video. Native people are talked about in the power dynamics section and the bit about racist stereotypes being part of the theme of removing guilt from the person who is fantasizing about them. And the other part is more like love = yearning/craving = consuming = cannibalism. And also like Catholics = cannibalism, which as a former catholic is 100% on the money so no harm there.

Regarding the tweet you sent with the pics of Hobi with a similar (or same?) phone. No, that does not look like the same day to me since Hobi’s hair is different. Perhaps this was another example of product placement? Or Hobi owns a similar phone?

But I agree with you that I’m not sure it matters. To me, the bottom line is that the guys weren’t just casually messing around taking videos that day. Documenting their day seems to have been the “assignment” as evidenced by the fact that all three of 3J made sure to film similar videos and there was so much emphasis on showing the phones in the other bb, and all of the guys were taking tons of pics and videos.

We can’t know for sure who’s phone Hobi used. But what we do know for certain is that they were working that day and those videos weren’t personal. Were they shot on a non-member phone? Maybe. Were they shot on a member phone and then sent to Hybe staff, Dispatch staff, brand staff, and who knows who else? Could be! Either way, I do not think those videos stayed with the members.

As for the apartment…I agree with you that I don’t find the videos to be compelling evidence. Did you know there are over 300 units in that apartment complex, spread out across numerous buildings? Okay so explain to me, how does he have an eat*ng d*sorder when we've seen tons of videos of him (and i'm only gonna count the fancams) since he went to Chicago for Lollapalooza all the way to LA, eating, drinking, feasting, having the time of his life next to Staff members, celebs, producers all summer long.

(The ONLY time we actually saw him "holding back" on eating too much was during the VHopeMinKook live and it was because of Jungkook since allegedly they were gonna eat together after JK came back from working out-post-concert)

Oh no, but suddenly he has a non-existent ED for wanting to loose the weight he gained during the summer. (because he DID mentioned earlier that he gained a bit back then, but like.... that's all of us? We all gained weight during summer lol Even I'm trying to loose the 5 pounds I gained).

Bottom line is... he's a grown ass man (almost 27 was it?), its HIS body, he knows what he's doing and WHY he's doing it. This isn't 2016, the circumstances are NOT the same compared to back then and we need to let that shit GO!

Hi Anon, going to put this under a cut because it's long.

Sorry, but I am editing out some (very little, but some) of the information you shared because it's beyond the scope of the question and because I have a policy of not sharing certain things on my blog.

If the question is just whether these supertopics exist or not, the answer is Yes. They do.

Before CQL, DD has a very popular CP ST with Cheng Xiao [redacted]

DD also has CP ST with ZLY and the shippers treats this CP as a mysterious romance. [redacted]

GG has been shipped by other actors/actresses. The most popular is him with WZC which he shut it down himself.

Then GG with YZ happened when those polaroid pics leaked to the internet. When ST rank hadn't been deleted, this ST was wild because of it back then and entered top 100. Then promotional for OOL happened and it jumped to top 40. Then the ST rank got deleted. This CP ST was very active during OOL's airing and now it's mostly BTS videos, BTS pics and fan creations (fanvid, manips, rumors).

The different about these CP STs and BJYX is simple : unlike BJYX, they don't have much future content to fill the discussions. Especially after the shows end, the actors move on to their other projects. New dating rumors will also happen during their new projects. BTS videos, BTS pictures will run out and maybe will be posted during its anniversaries but then at that time the ST is not that active anymore.

DD/CX ST, DD/ZLY and GG/YZ never trending on weibo. Even during OOL's airing which when this ST is super active.

CP STs will always come and go, depending on the popularity of the CP couple. There're certain requirements to create an ST, the main one is minimal member. Someone cannot create an ST with only 1-10 persons in it.

Solo fans move from one couple to others. You'll find many solos with many CPs. Each person have different preference. So eventually, the ST dies, unless the celebs work together again in the future.

But yeah, we don't need anything to proof that BJYX is superior or anything compared to other CP STs. After all, ST is just a fan creation/forum.

A couple comments on some of the CP you listed, in case readers are curious about my thoughts on them:

The Cheng Xiao CP was pushed by YH for a while as a means of trying to promote both artists. It never got off the ground, but CX and DD are good friends now, so no harm done.

There were some people trying to sell a ship between DD and ZLY. Any ‘evidence’ they claimed to have never actually materialized. This CP totally sickens me, and I consider anyone who tries to promote it to be a DD anti. They are trying to insert DD into a divorce scandal and frame him as a homewrecker of a couple with a new baby. No one who had DD’s interests at heart or understood anything about the kind of person he is would ever buy/sell such inflammatory BS. 🤬

Re the GG/YZ thing, Anon is talking about these polaroids, which were ‘leaked’ back in 2020 and caused a lot of fan wars and overall badness. At the time a lot of people were taking those polaroids to be real, candid shots of GG and YZ together behind the scenes during filming, so it’s not surprising that the CP blew up at the time. Surely the staggering lack of chemistry they had in OOL has straightened most of those people out...

There are people who have a lot of social capital that have no tumblr, never had one. and there are blogs with a lot of followers but those followers are mostly bots or those followers that dont interact much so post don’t get many likes.
