it's funny seeing "i think bucktommy shippers should learn media literacy" from people that i used to ship buddie next to...

i was a hardcore buddie monoshipper for over 2 years. i looked into every single scene. i believed in the couch theory, the color theory. i read into every single interview for hidden meaning. i looked at oliver stark's social media habits. and what did it get me? besides being extremely, irrationally mad at the end of s6.

so me, now enjoying a canon ship (that just so happens to only include 1/2 of my original ship) that is a positive, queer, romantic relationship and finding something special in them, is not having media literacy? i can write an essay on bucktommy and their story and their potential tbh. invisible string!

also, apparently, we've been misreading oliver's interviews... man has never confirmed a single thing in an interview in his life. as a past buddie shipper, i'd know. lol so how am i reading his interviews wrong NOW??? by simply taking them more at face value than i ever did?

i don't know. i just don't understand.

i'm not telling anyone not to have any whimsy about shipping buddie. buddie's dynamic is amazing and beautiful and still one of my favorite relationships on the show. they are still one of the most important relationships on the show in canon. ship them! but don't tell other shippers who are shipping a canon relationship that we're being 'delusional' or not understanding what we're watching.

man, remember how hyped oliver was after 7x04 to be able to finally play buck as bisexual? and to finally be able to play this storyline that had been apparently canned by fox multiple times? the multiple interviews mentioning how excited he was for it, that ig post right after buck's coming denouncing people having a problem with it...

and look at him now? barely acknowleding his costar? only mentioning his rs storyline when straight up asked? all bc fans barely cared about the buck of it all and latched onto the other guy instead and what the storyline meant for him rather than buck? and the fact that his costar ended up being a piece of trash who feeds delusions for money with cameos and shit?

Didn’t it strike you as odd how in a conversation about Tommy where they have been freely and happily using his name Josh only uses “He” when it comes to his speech?

The fucking Pre-glee speech isn’t really about Tommy. It’s a set up.

Even the people who have been calling him a plot device have failed to see how almost nothing that happened in the episode was about him.

He is there as a mirror to Eddie. Or at least a place holder. The writing is on the wall and y’all are scrambling to look for clues in the goddamn cabinets.

This was exactly my thought process during this episode!!

every single tommy scene showed how he is constantly on the outside of everything in bucks life

eddie finishes buck’s sentences and fills in the gaps in information that tommy somehow is missing

tommy doesn’t indulge buck’s research binge and doesn’t sleep in the same bed as him

tommy is again taking the back seat and watching eddie fix buck up and try and reassure him

tommy’s not in the group chat and we can see the longing to be included on his face

even in his last scene in the cemetery he is standing so far away from buck when they could have easily had them holding hands or even just standing right next to each other

there were so many opportunities to assert tommy as a long term love interest but both the dialogue and the physicality of each scene showed just how much tommy is consistently on the edge, this episode made it a point to show us that

hi, re seeing anti buddie posts, ig it depends on whether you are searching within the bucktommy tag or not, but also a lot of people in this fandom for some reason decided that everything they say belongs in the bucktommy tag now, even though the content is unrelated.... i also see a ton of posts that are content-wise only about anti buddie, ryan guzman, eddie diaz, eddiesol etc in the bucktommy tag. and i hate it tbh. that's not what tags are for. and that renders all my blacklists and filters completely useless.. people could easily stick with broader tags, like "911 abc", instead of shoving not-bucktommy-content down my throat jeez... when i look into the bucktommy tag, all i wanna see is buckto. my-related content. apparently that concept is too hard to grasp, and it's been annoying tf outta me at this point. ☹️

I do follow bucktommy and buddie tags so that's probably why it's getting really annoying seeing posts in there that are hateful. I'm begging Tumblr users to learn how to keep things out of tags that it doesn't need to be in. The anon saying “Oliver doesn’t despise bucktommy he’s only spoken fondly about the pairing” wrong. He’s only spoken fondly about the storyline of Buck being bi. He’s never specifically spoken fondly of Tommy. He’s talked about his hope that the relationship isn’t traumatic or bad and ends in a way that they could remain friends - but thats about the Buck bi storyline that has nothing to do with how he feels specifically about Tommy. He would say that regardless of who. But it is SUPER telling that he has refused to promote Tommy or Bucktommy specifically. Especially when he has chosen to post Buddie scenes and stills. If he genuinely liked BuckTommy he had many opportunities to post their scenes especially with how openly he has talked about the Buck bi storyline. Like obviously he’s not going to openly talk about disliking Tommy - he’s a professional, but let’s use critical thinking skills here.

no they have an insider specifically for the show. they find out stuff when it's being filmed and everything. they knew natalia was not coming back, buck was bi, and that buddie would be waking up together back in january. they also said eddie and marisol were gonna be bones a month before it happened and knew chris was leaving a couple days later. they tease a lot and they've also said when it comes to buddie "lets have fun guys it's a journey not a lightswich. who wants to ship a lightswitch? " aka bucktommy
