Mini-review:

Let's be honest here: XO, Kitty is cringey as hell. Cheesy, too. It seems to be out on a mission to hit every trope and cliché in the book. And yet... I can't stop watching. The writers have a knack for creating as much messy drama as possible, and if you're into that, the show can be a really fun experience. The characters keep doing dumb shit, sure, but that's also part of their irritating charm. Minho/Sang Heon Lee remains the most engaging part of the ensemble, and this time he gets better material than in season one. So yeah, I can't say this show is good, but I also can't say I don't enjoy watching it. I don't really know where else it could take the story, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what mess the writers can concoct next.

The Station ID is accompanied with the Christmas version of “Para Sa’yo Kapatid” performed by Filipino singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, television host, actor and comedian Ogie Alcasid and his wife Regine Velasquez who is also an OPM singer and songwriter. But somehow, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez also performed the original version of the “Para Sa’yo Kapatid” in June 30, 2010.

The Christmas Station ID was launched in December 1, 2010 which is the same thing that the “Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino” music video was released from ABS-CBN.

Somehow, Mel Tiangco, Howie Severino, Dominic Roco, Felix Roco and twin sisters Anne Curtis and Jasmine Curtis-Smith don’t appear in the Christmas Station ID at this point.

The Christmas Station ID theme will be re-used in the 2011 Christmas Station ID from TV5 which is “Magpasaya ang Kapatid” but with minor changes and explosions. Somehow, The explosions at the very end will occur in the 2015 Christmas Station ID which is “Happy Ka Dito Ngayon Pasko” which will feature special guests like Rufa Mae Quinto, Julia Montes, Cristine Reyes, Dimples Romana, Alex Gonzaga, Roxanne Guinoo, Angelica Panganiban and Valerie Concepcion waving at the end.

Mini-review:

I was a big fan of the To All The Boys series (both books and movies), but I must say I have somewhat mixed feelings about this show. For starters, it is too cheesy. Yes, the TATB trilogy was also cheesy, but in the movies that came across as charming, while here it's a bit cringey. Also, it's pretty obvious they tried to give the show a "western K-drama" kind of vibe, and it doesn't really work. For example, the cinematography feels really lifeless and bland, and things like that make me think Netflix didn't spend much money here. That being said, there is one thing this show did better than any k-drama in existence: the representation. It's beautiful to see such a wide variety of sexualities, cultures and races in a show set in South Korea.

I also loved the cast. It's obvious they had a great time filming the show and portraying these characters, and their energy is very infectious. The show is worth a watch based on the characters and their interactions alone. Among them, I enjoyed Sang Heon Lee's and Gia Kim's performances the most, and I'd love to see them in tons of projects going forward. Tbh, there are times where the writing is all over the place, and the characters change their minds constantly in ways that make little sense, but it's so fun to watch that I could sort of ignore all the inconsistencies. I have to admit I was pretty invested in these characters by the time I finished the last episode, so I would definitely like to see a second season.

But eventually, The Christmas Station ID featured an explosion where Ivan Dorschner accidentally sliced a bomb with an Excalibur sword which nearly exploded on him which also broke the fourth wall by accident. However, The opening features the voice of Peter Musgñi who is the voiceover of ABS-CBN whenever he narrates about Christmas and even the people they lost which made people cry or even depressed.

Sadly, The Christmas Station ID did not feature Regine Velasquez because she was busy handling with her son Nate Alcasid. Also, Belle Mariano, Charlie Dizon, Dominic Roco and his younger brother Felix Roco don’t appear in the Christmas Station ID as well.

Somehow, The Christmas Station ID will be re-used in 2013 which will be known as “DisyembRegalo”.
