A post-ep piece from ep. 7 of Agatha All Along, Death's Hand In Mine (aired October 23, 2024) below the cut!

Death comes for Lilia, softened at the edges.

No, not Death. Rio. Rio, face rounded in sympathy, so unlike the vision in the tunnels. She smiles and it’s warm, caring. In all the dreams Lilia had about Death, it was never a face she recognized, never a face so open and kind. But as reality leaks away, she thinks: maybe this is a face I’ve seen before. Maybe I’ve been seeing this face my whole life.

“Did you take Alice?”

Alice. Her coven sister. Protector. The Knight of Wands. Lilia hopes she was held, helped. And Rio, that softness still etched across her face, nods silently. Lilia exhales, some of the pressure in her chest easing away.

“And Jen? Teen?” She pauses. “Agatha?”

She doesn’t imagine the slight flinch on Rio’s face. She can see now. Everything. All threads. All motes in the air. All flecks of want in Death’s eyes.

“They will face the road,” Rio finally says. “I will be there if they are ready.”

Lilia hopes—if, if they fail, if the road swallows them whole—that Death is kind to them. That Death comes in a soft green shawl like the one she’s wearing now, a flower in her hand and a warmth in her eyes. They deserve that. Jen. Teen. Even Agatha deserves a moment where the world stops pushing at her. If only she would stop pushing back.

But they are her coven. They are her family. She sacrificed for them, gave them a way forward and stayed behind to seal the path from the danger she could control. And she would do it again. It’s probably why Death comes to her as Rio, a kindness for a kindness. The choice she was always destined to make. All roads led to this Road, led to these people, and for the first time in centuries, she had something worth losing.

They are her coven. Death will not take that away from her.

“I’m ready.” She declares it with a strength that she thinks has always been there, just dampened for so long.

Rio smiles, a slight sharpness in the corners before it’s gone, and offers her hand. “Then let’s walk, witch.”

Witch. She loves the sound of that.

Lilia takes her hand and the world shifts into muted colors that stretch as far as she can see. At the end, something sparkles. She knows that place, the face at the end of the tunnel. Hope blooms in her chest as the picture takes shape. She feels herself running, body shifting as she goes, and it becomes easier. The air tastes sweeter. The sun is shining.

Rio’s hand slips from hers and she feels weightless, but tethered to a moment in time—a first in a long while.

She doesn’t hear the goodbye. Death whispers it still.

Not me coming back 7 years later to quickly draw some more panels to this old thing... I can't believe I started this before we even had season 2 💀 If I recall, the premise was post identity reveal and Marinette wasn't sure if Adrien showing affection was him liking her or projecting his feelings for Ladybug. (Red lines are the new stuff. I didn't even bother pulling up refs to keep on model 🤡)

hi can i talk about shinooka "has a crush on a guy specifically bc he will never ever like her back" chiyo is so real and relatable to me a lesbian who did the exact same thing in high school. and can i talk about "abe will never look at me as a romantic partner" while the panel is him looking at mihashi. this page is too much. gayest page in the manga because its mlm/wlw solidarity multiple colors of the rainbow etc can we talk about chiyo PLEASE!!!!!!!

Okay. I don't think I need to say what a bad idea this is right?

The entire reason OldMoon died in the first place was because he made a deal with Eclipse, one of the villains which ultimately lead to his death.

So now he's making a deal with another Eclipse villian which will probably lead to another death in the long run.

I know the circumstances are different. And OMoon has never been one to buy into propaganda or moral debates.

As long as you don't hurt his family, he personally doesn't care if you killed over three trillion people.

Also, the entire fallout after the Nexus situation sucks so hard. He is legit not in anyone's thoughts. Glad this family is robots and can just turn off their emotions about a person like a switch like that.

As far as the family knows, Nexus is in space after he blasted Earth. And you would think Sun would be pretty messed up about it.... Especially as he's reconnecting with OMoon, But it seems it's so far in his mind it's not even a passing thought anymore. This isn't "putting on a brave face" this is "I forgot what I ate yesterday" mood...but about your brother.

So yeah, OMoon is continuing to make deals with villains and likely someone will die from it because we didn't learn our lesson the first time.

I've started playing Potion Permit, and so far it's one of my favorite games I've messed around with, but the most big brained move the devs made was giving you a dog on day 1, and then making that dog able to track NPCs and lead you directly to them no matter where they are in the town.

12 July 2024 - Friday Field Notes

Some baby American Robins that I took on my cell phone camera. There's three of them I believe. I'm very excited to watch them grow up! Really missing the Barn Swallows I helped rescue last year. Hope they're raising broods of their own and shitting in apartment breezeways.

I almost took this week off for the field notes because I didn't really have all that many photos from the past work week to share and it's my birthday today but... My partner was kind enough to give me my bday present early.

I've been wanting an actual camera for a while now.

Managed a quick stroll through my neighborhood and took it out for a test drive. There's a lot of buttons and switches and I still need to figure out how to use this thing lol. Telephoto lenses are super heavy so I may have to see about getting a tripod too. (And a smaller lens when I don't need to shoot long-distance.) But we've got some Sunflowers, Red-Winged Blackbird, Black-Tailed Prairie Dog, Common Grackle, Narrowleaf Cattail, and a Western Kingbird!

I'll probably still post my cell phone shots because I'm not lugging this nice thing to work but expect some more higher quality blurry photos in the future.
