#another wip i'll never finish?

Saw this post about metalheads asking other metalheads if they wear earplugs at concerts and it made me think of the fics where the CC boys disprove of Steve and one of their points against Steve is seeing him wear earplugs during their concerts.

So, I'm thinking of a script flip where Steve refuses to wear earplugs because he's worried about the band hating him for it, or maybe like embarrassed that he needs to ear them or risk more hearing loss, and no matter what Eddie says Steve won't listen.

Meanwhile the boys don't mind Steve. They haven't really had negative interactions with him specifically and they know he spends most of his time with either Eddie or Dustin, so really, how bad can the guy be? Plus Eddie shows up to band practice with fresh baked goodies all the time curtesy of Steve so really, Eddie should be doing more to keep him and his baking around.

They don't really weigh in with the earplug dispute though. They don't actually know Steve so it feels like a weird topic to just bring up when they do see him (and also the one time they took Eddie's side on something Steve withheld baked goods for a week so they can't just pipe in and agree with Eddie when he's telling Steve that if Steve doesn't wear the earplugs, they'll have him thrown from the venue).

But in the end it's like, Jeff or Gareth, that convinces him to wear the earplugs and not because they were even trying to get him to do so. I'm thinking maybe it's Gareth and it's in such a neutral way, like they don't even talk about. Steve just catches Gareth putting earplugs in his own ears before sitting behind the drums one day and Steve wheels on Eddie like you didn't tell me that you guys wear earplugs.

Maybe I've been thinking about Duchess Lily Evans, arranged to marry the prince she's barely met twice, rehearsing a quiet love story spanning the years that never happened.

Maybe I've been thinking about equerry Barty Crouch Jr., serving as prince Regulus's personal attendant, the only one allowed in his highnesses rooms after hours.

Maybe I've been thinking about Captain James Potter, a recent and handsome addition to the royal entourage that suddenly makes Lily's life a little less miserable.

And Maybe I've been thinking about what the four of them get up to behind closed doors...

oh my god guys i did it. i finished the major finale arc of the husk overlord fic! idk if it's good, but i can do the fun stuff now!!! healing! fluff! loose ends! hopefully this goes by quick so i can go back and edit the hot mess dumpster fire and move onto something new <3
