Their auncle, Featherwhisker, was their own biggest support in coming out. - So you take your two little feet and waddle down the streets of hell asking anyone and everyone if they want to work for Vox.

- Obviously everyone wants to work for the Vees, so you end up bringing like a hoard of people to the office and kinda just, bring them in.

- As I've mentioned, this man would not notice you being gone like, ever, so when you magically show tf up with like 70 people all in tow, he is partially impressed and partially confused.

- He asks you why you brought so many people and you just look up at him with your cute little baby doll eyes and go "I thought you needed someone to replace mr. dead guy".

- He honestly kinda appreciates it and gives you a little pat on the head as he kills kicks out everyone you brought.

Lucifer -

- This man pays copious amounts of attention to you so the fact you were able to waddle away to go collect people off the street is honestly astounding.

- He was like, super art blocked and could not come up with another idea for a duck, and it was starting to piss both of you off.

- So you do your little thing and walk off by yourself to collect another person to help come up with some sweet succulent duck ideas.

- Well turn out, creepy people exist in hell (surprise surprises).

- So a creepy ass guy follows you to the palace and when you get back Lucifer panics.

- He was worried you died or something and was about to go find you when you show up with a rando behind you.

- Lucifer politely scolds you for running off like that, but before you could introduce him to the guy you found to help, the guy left.

- So you give up and instead devote a lot of your time to making a new rubber duck

- Lucifer ends up making a duck that can track where you are incase you go wandering off again.

While at first, you seemed like any other staff member or villager, Bela is quickly taught better

She notices your tendencies fast, and at first, isn’t too sure what to make of them

She isn’t sure why she defends you either, claiming it was her that accidentally ripped the pillows when Mother demands an explanation

Following up on why she acts this strangely, Bela decides to get to know you, more and more

In little time she finds herself falling for you, for your honest, unconcealed ways

She finds your more feral tendencies somewhat adorable, though at times scolds you like she has done countless times in the past when her then equally feral sisters broke something

Being allowed to stay in her room after a good while of dating, you couldn’t be happier

You’re with the woman you love, in a warm room and a spacious one

Despite this, Bela often has you sleep in a separate bed

Not that she doesn’t usually curl up with you

She just finds early on that you kick all from the bed in your sleep, pillows and blankets, even tear at the sheets- and her, if she happens to sleep next to you

And while you feel awful for the marks you leave on her in your sleep, it does get you curious like nothing else

You feel the need to bite, to mark, to cut and tear with your nails like an animal might

Multiple times, you’ve wondered whether you’re similar to the Lycans outside, even

Bela, though, she makes the thought of these things even sweeter

At times, when you zone out biting at a piece of bark or a sturdy stick she’s found you, your thoughts just…wander

You then can’t help but wonder how it would be to bite into her skin

She does insist, your blood tastes incredible, and there isn’t a day your flesh isn’t marked by her

But Bela?

Her beautiful, porcelain-like skin, soft and cold..

Often, you imagine what it’s like to chew on her neck or arm, just a quick taste if that’s all she grants you

At other times, you can’t help but accidentally nip her with your nails

Usually this is when you’ve pulled her in your lap, often having her there when you’re reading or so

She always agrees eagerly to this, knowing it means no more pillows will be torn open

Instead, your nails dig into her, bringing forth sharp gasps and low, soft groans every once in a while

You aren’t sure she’s truly against it, for she never scolds you and still is happy to sit on your lap

Perhaps, it’s her way of repaying you for being allowed to feed from your neck

Cassandra

Discovering you in the village, Cassandra is immediately keen on finding out more about you

Perhaps, that is because of how she found you…snarling as you tug and grunt, looking as though you’re playing tug of war with the lycan that stole your jacket

Of course, she easily snaps the creature in half, her pride blooming as you grin widely at her, your jacket clutched in your hands

She decides to take you with her, and while it wouldn’t quite have made a difference, you eagerly come with her

With Cassandra by your side, you soon learn to give into your subconscious thoughts and actions rather than fighting them

Cassandra, in a way, is feral at times as well

Due to that, she doesn’t quite care for the consequences of your actions

In time, as more blooms between the two of you

As such, she becomes more aware of your quirks, and you with here

Like when you curled up in bed with her

Her nails flexing every time you push your finger against her palm, her breathing even

Until, that is, you suddenly bite into her arm

Cassandra jumps, then raises an eyebrow when she meets your eyes

You don’t seem fazed, still playing with her palm, as though the biting didn’t faze you in the slightest

She shrugs, only. She doesn’t mind. In fact, it’s somewhat nice to feel your lips and teeth against her

As she notices this behaviour continue quite often, your sleeping and cuddle positions often change

You’re often with your head at her neck, biting contentedly as you read

Behind your back, she often sharpens her weapon

Both of you, content to be together, in indulging in whatever feral habits you have

When you scratch up her pillow in your sleep, Cassandra simply replaces them. They’re nothing of worth to her

Instead, she finds your urge to claw at things inspiring

She decides to allow you to hold her clothing and shields when you read, silently giggling to herself

You’re ideal for testing their efficiency, really

By the end of the day, or whenever you finish what activity has you so captivated, she checks how deep you were able to scratch

If the item is of no use, she discards it

Often, that means you get to gnaw at it all you want

As the two of you become closer and closer, multiple things happen

1), Daniela and you catch feelings, fast

She quickly becomes important to you, and equally you become incredibly important to her

You look forward to spending your time with her, as does she

Even when this means the two of you curling up and reading side by side in the library, the two of you treasure these oments

2), the two of you spend a lot of time together

As such, Daniela becomes increasingly aware of your characteristics and mannerisms, intentional or not

Being somewhat feral as well, Daniela at first doesn’t even notice a thing

Clawing up clothing and pillows, gnawing at pencils, wood and whatever is near you when you’re concentrating…

It all seems perfectly normal to her, really

You can’t help your sharp nails, too, and don’t want Daniela to file them down a little

She only shrugs when you refuse that solution

She won’t press you, though occasionally helps you take care of your hands and nails

Instead, she makes sure you have “your” pillows, scratched up and sewn together again countless times

This way, you can tear them as often as you like, and neither Daniela, nor Alcina minds

She tends to your needs, going so far as to ask you at one point whether you’d like some blood…which promptly has her older sisters smack the back of her head

It was just another day on base for the two, he'd always grab some coffee for himself and for your dad when he went into his office, always chatting with him. They've grown to have a close companionship from working together and protecting each other over the years. Your father would always reveal things about himself and only himself, never talking about his family when he's working. Keegan would be the same, always quiet and secretive.

It was during a holiday that you father asked him to come over so he could show him some of his vinyl record collection and have dinner with the family. He was welcomed through the door by your father as you just came down the steps of the stairs. "This is my best buddy, Keegan." your father introduces him to you proudly with a carefree smile, he turns to him, "Keegan, this is my daughter.". his eyes linger on your face as he extends his hand to you to shake it, "Pleasure meeting you.", and as you introduce yourself and shake his hand, you smile as you can't help but notice his pretty blue eyes trail down to your lips.

After a bit of chatting with the two in the living room and hearing your father's endless stories about the two's missions, you get up. A new issue arose in Keegan's life; you. As the days went on after not seeing you for a while he couldn't stop thinking about you, the way he'd respond slower when people talked to him on base, and the number of condoms that were thrown in his trash can were all evident of your effect on him, but there was one issue: your father. What would he say to Keegan, his comrade and his best friend of years if he knew he wanted to get with his daughter? What would he do to him? Would he just throw all of those years and memories in the trash? Would he direct his anger at you instead? I’m deleting the ask I posted where an anon asked intrusive questions about my assigned gender and made several statements about transmisogyny. I am not doing this to hide my response which I still agree with, but because the ask has gained a lot of traction. Why is this bad? Because in nine years on tumblr you start to see who’s likely an intentional discourse asker. The more it is shared the more outrage.

Let’s refocus on this: all transgender people are welcome here, and are loved. All transfems/trans women, I see you, I welcome you, and I will continue to listen to and support you. Whatever the newest discourse tumblr has created is will not further tear apart queer spaces. We can all do our part to deconstruct internal biases and support one another.

If you are currently embroiled in any online queer discourse I do encourage you to take a step back. These things come like clock work and I could name ten of them I’ve witnessed. Often a bad actor (TERF!) begins them and they get out of hand. Soon people are causing each other harm. Move back and set your intentions, mine are to further the support of all queer and trans people and to address the complex intersections of oppression that they face. This will not be done by arguing in the comment section with someone who has the exact opposite opinion to you. I have learned the best thing to do is witness the argument, and take time to consider, explore, read, research, and understand before jumping on anything. Usually by the time you do this it’s over, and there’s a new discourse in town. But you can use what you learned to address real issues, whether that be transmisogyny in your communities, gender essentialism, homophobia, racism, etc.

As humans first integrated into galactic civilisation and brought our holidays with us, most species were intrigued

Krogans couldn't have cared less for the new neighbours and their strange holidays

It's hard to be interested in some other species' party when your homeplanet is war plagued still

The tragedy of the genophage still affecting every waking day

So to invite them along on a holiday that's mainly for kids? When their scarce miracle children spend their entire childhood in one small camp for safety?

Even the ones willing to give it a chance don't get the best experience

Most people don't react well when confronted with a whole hulking Krogan drenched in fake blood at the front of their porch

So many shattered bowls of candy from being dropped in shock

But if this is happening after the cure of the genophage

Then the krogans would be more than willing to participate

Parents absolutely delighted at the idea of dressing up their children in costumes and accompanying them from door to door

Families finally getting to act like families and have the full welcoming warm neighbourhood experience as their world is rebuilt

Even the mercenary krogans feel a weight lift off of their shoulder

Being able to attend the adult Halloween parties in peace without guilt or fear

The krogans in Andromeda are more willing to give Halloween a go before fully establishing families

Much like they used human movies and high school proms as a point of reference when it came to courtship in romance after the gender integration

Halloween is adaptated out of necessity

To encourage fraternization

Throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks kind of deal

Your office had just received a new hire and of course your boss had to assign you as the one to train them. It’s not like you hate the new hire, you haven’t even met them yet, but you don’t particularly like that you have to train somebody new on top of getting your work for the current project you’re working on done. A part of you wanted to suggest (argue) with your boss that the head of your department would be better suited for training the new hire. Alas the head of your department was actually on a business trip to do field research. Now why your boss picked you out of all the other employees in your department you aren’t quite sure. What you did know was that you unfortunately can’t get out of it. 

You arrived at work a bit earlier than usual to settle your things before the new hire would arrive. You were busy editing a document when the new hire arrived. 

“Y/n this is the new hire you will be training. I’m sure you’ll treat him well.” One of the other employees of the office informed you. You stood up from your chair, dusting off the imaginary dirt from your pants. 

“Nice to meet you. I’m Seungmin.” The new hire introduced himself with a smile. 

“I’m y/n. Let me show you around the office.” You stepped outside of your cubicle area. You began to walk around the office with Seungmin, showing him around the different departments, where the copying room was, the breakroom, storage, bathrooms. 

“Now this room is ‘top secret’. This is the room where we come to when we’re hiding from our work.” You opened the door to reveal a shabby looking room. There was literally nothing in it. You supposed it was supposed to be another storage room, but never ended up being used as one. Instead it sits empty with flickering lights and white walls that are painting themselves beige. “It may not look like much, but when you’re having a hard day you’ll find that it feels like a sanctuary,” you told. 

“Duly noted,” Seungmin said. He looked around the empty room. His eyes stopped on you, taking a nice look. You noticed, but didn’t say anything. Seungmin had actually been taking glances at you the entire tour. He couldn’t help it. You looked so beautiful. The way you showed him around. You had a professional nature, but at the same time there was this hint that you didn’t particularly care to be doing what you’re doing right now. You spoke articulately about your office and how it runs, but you half-hazardly pointed things out. Like your words said one thing, but your body language said another. It successfully piqued Seungmin’s interest in you. 

You ended the tour by coming full circle back to your department. You showed Seungmin where his cubicle was, which happened to be across from yours on the left side. You started to get him set up with some simpler work. Seungmin tried his best to pay attention to what you were telling him. It was proving to be difficult though with the way you unintentionally leaned closer to him to show him what to do with the documents on his screen. 

“Alright, that should do it. If you have any questions, my cubicle is right over there.” you pointed across the way to your cubicle.

“Great, thanks,” Seungmin states. Seungmin watches you walk the short couple of steps back over to your cubicle. Seungmin couldn’t help but steal glances at you throughout the rest of the work day. 

At the end of the day you traveled the short distance over to Seungmin’s cubicle to check on his work. Again Seungmin couldn’t help but admire you as your eyes scanned over the documents on his computer screen. 

“There are a couple of errors that need to be fixed, but this isn’t bad for a new hire. Good job,” you told Seungmin, straightening up from peering over at his computer screen. 

“Do I get a reward for that?” Seungmin asked cheekily. A bit of a suggestive manner in his eyes. 

“You’re paycheck,” you answered blankly. Then you proceeded to walk back over to your desk to pack up for the day. Seungmin didn’t expect you to be so cold to him, however it only made him more interested in you. Igniting a bit of a spark in him. 

Seungmin fully intended on acting on the newly lit spark in him. Any time at work he would take the chance to flirt with you. It didn’t even matter if others were around. He had no shame about his flirting with you. You typically would brush off Seungmin’s flirting, which unfortunately for you only encourages him more. After a couple of weeks of his flirting you finally confronted him about it. 

“Seriously Seungmin what is your deal?” You cornered him in the break room when nobody else was there. 

“Can I not flirt with the girl I like?” he returned. 

“Well the girl you like isn’t interested in guys younger than her. Sorry,” you rejected him. That wasn’t going to stop Seungmin though. 

“C’mon I’m only three years younger than you. I can be an exception,” he stated. 

“I’m really not interested in you Seungmin.” You reject him for a second time and begin to walk towards the exit of the breakroom. 

“You just want me to chase after you for a while don’t you? That’s ok I can do that. I like a challenge,” Seungmin calls out after you as you leave the breakroom. 

Seungmin meant it when he said he could chase after you. That’s exactly what he did. He would get you coffee and leave little notes on your cups. Saying stuff like: “Your smile makes me happy :)”, “You’re working hard”, “The only way you could be more perfect would be if you were mine”, “I know these notes make you happy, so why not let me make you happy?”. He would pull your chair out for you when your department had your weekly meetings. He would run and be your errand boy whenever you needed copying done, something from storage or another department. 

Despite all of Seungmin’s chasing you still wouldn’t let him into your heart. You did open up to him more and even started to treat him as a friend. Seungmin wanted to be more than your friend though. He just wanted you to be his. He wanted to look out for you, remind you to take breaks when you got hyper fixated on a project, have meals with you, send you good morning and goodnight texts with random text throughout the day simply because he was thinking about you. He wanted to cuddle you in his arms. His intentions were pure even if was a bit cheeky with his flirting. At the end of the day he really did just want to love you. 

Seungmin notices that it has been quite some time since you stepped out of your cubicle. He was pretty sure you didn’t have any meeting to attend to, so he wondered what was taking you so long. He couldn’t really focus on his work cause he could think about where you possibly disappeared off to. That’s when he remembers what you said about the “top secret” room. That it could feel like a sanctuary when you’re having a hard day. Seungmin honestly hopes that he’s wrong as he stands up from his chair and begins to head in the direction of the “top secret” room. He gently knocks on the door before opening it. Sure enough he finds you sitting in the corner of the poorly lit room with your knees tucked up to your chest. He closes the door behind him and carefully walks over to you, taking a seat right beside you. 

“Are you alright?” he softly asks you. Instead of answering him verbally you shake your head. Seungmin places a comforting hand on your knee. 

“I’m sure whatever it is, it'll be ok. It’s probably really stressful right now, but you always figure it out,” he comforts you. 

“What if I don’t?” Your voice sounds so dejected, it pains Seungmin’s heart. 

“Then I’ll figure it out for you,” he declares. 

“Huh? You don’t even know what’s bothering me,” you say. 

“True, but I really just want to take care of you y/n. I know my flirting style is kinda cheeky and maybe you don’t take it seriously because of that, but I really care about you y/n. I want to make you happy, help you with any problems you encounter, make sure you eat your meals, take you out on silly little dates, be the person you think about before you fall asleep or,” he lets out a bit of a chuckle.  “Be the person who you fall asleep beside. I want to hold you in my arms.” Seungmin very carefully and slowly wraps one of his arms around your shoulders, giving you plenty of time to shove him away. “I want to love you y/n if you’ll let me.” Seungmin silently waits for you to respond. The silence is killing him though.

“I meant it when I said I was interested in younger guys,” you finally spoke. Even though you rejected Seungmin again and again month after month. He never let it deter him from liking you. This time however your words actually hurt him a bit. Seungmin opened his mouth, but before he could say anything you kept talking. “You might be able to be an exception though,” you continued. Now Seungmin’s heart is filled with hope. 

“You’re giving me a chance?” He had to make sure. 

“Mhm, you better not waste it,” you threatened him. 

“I would never.” He wraps his other arm around you pulling you towards him. You let him, resting your head on his shoulder. “As much as I like this we should probably get back to work,” Seungmin states after a few moments. 

“In a few minutes. Let’s stay like this for a few more minutes.” You snuggled your head further onto his shoulder. Seungmin definitely wasn’t going to tell you no. He pulls you impossibly closer to him, resting his head on top of yours.

As the name suggests, it’s up to every player here to survive on Jabberwock Island up until November 1st! Seems easy enough, yeah? Weeeeeell, it won’t be!! Because thanks to a certain genius bimbo we got some actual stakes here!!!

Naming conventions aside, these will be your main foes they must outwit and outrun, for they have quite the taste for flesh~ Now, should also note, they don’t really want to eat your brains or skin off…but, they are into another sort of ‘flesh tasting’~

Yeah, since this is Miu, she pretty much created absolute sex ghouls that look hawt as Hell (gotta emphasis no rot, just gray skin, white eyes, with curvy-ass to hunky bodies here) and want nothing more than to fuck the players sideways!! Though, there is a catch to this. See, it wouldn’t be a good undead apocalypse if there wasn’t a way for the ghouls to increase their numbers, right?~

Basically any player who winds up being fucked silly by these guys will become a ghoul themselves, becoming a member of the horny horde~ Completely unable to think of anything but fucking the next person they see!!! Puhuhuhuhhuhu!!!

Also, don’t worry your little heads about whether or not your faves will be like that forever if caught or even if we snatched them against their wills. We’ve made sure that not only is everyone aware they’ll be fixed up in a jiffy afterwards, but all have signed on…….mostly since the thought of being chased, trying to avoid falling into temptation and being fucking railed by a hot ass monster does hold an immense appeal to these freaky lot~

Hello, welcome to the new event for the Halloween Season!!!! I was inspired to try my hand at it thanks to the great @ghostsbest and their own zombie survival game last year for their Fangan blog @sdranothersmut.

In this case, it’s pretty much all the muses of PlainDangan trying to rough it out. Following in Ghost’s set-up, they have 4 ‘chances’ to so to speak before a ghoul could get to them and turn them into apart of the horny dead~ If you’re also wondering

As the asker, you can decide how a muse eventually winds up in the situation they’re in, though whether or not that results in loss of ‘armor’ depends on the whims of the die (and, occasionally, if I just find it fitting. Mostly dice and I would tell you otherwise XD)

In this case:

Roll 1-2: Muse keeps the armor

Roll 3-4: Muse loses 1 armor

Roll 5-6: Muse loses 2 armor

Likewise, of if the muse has no armor than 3 and above is gonna be wraps for them~

Which brings us to the other aspect of this game…for now~

Muse Zombies! Muses Zombies are stronger than normal zombies, dealing 2 armor loss on a 3-4 roll, and 3 armor loss on a 5-6 roll. At least, in terms of encounters they are neutral against.

Depending on who gets turned, they might do better or worse against certain Muses than others. For example, a Ghoul Akane, might do really well against a weaker muse…but someone of the same strength as her or greater could be able to repel her better.

In this case, for types I feel would have the advantage, they need to hit a 1-2 to escape, as 3-4 now becomes 3 armor loss and 5-6 is 4 straight. Which, depending on how a muse is currently with their armor, could mean another one joins the horde~ This system also works vice-versa, with the defending muse being in a better position as the encounter would become just a regular zombie encounter.

Can have asks with up to 4 muses in them. When that happens, who loses out and who gains will be determined by a bit of randomization as well, in addition to taking in what the scenario wants.

I already used My Love Has Gone Across the Sea for my recommended instrumental track, but I love it a lot and will use it here too. It has some awesome fantasy/"love creates joy amidst sadness" vibes that I think are really cool. Another one—that I'm thinking of after answering the last set of asks—that has absolutely fantastic vibes is the Mithril Disco Phial music from LEGO Lord of the Rings. It's the music that plays when you use the mithril disco phial, the best video game item ever created. It makes everyone around your character dance so hard they can't attack you. 10/10, super great.

15. tell me about a childhood memory you’ll never forget.

When I was younger, my family traveled to Central America and was considering moving there. (We didn't end up doing so, but it was a very cool experience!) While we were there, we visited a small zoo. The regulations for having a zoo there seemed less stringent than they are here in the US—i.e., most of the animals were just in enclosures with one layer of regular wire fence. I saw a tapir browsing for leaves near the front of its pen, so I walked over, crouched down, and held out my hand to see if it would sniff it through the fence. It actually walked up to me, put its huge tapir elephant nose through the fence, and licked my hand a few times. I thought that was so cool.

16. what is the first “big kid book” aka chapter book, that you remember reading after learning how to read?

Answered previously! Another early one I remember was the Henry and Mudge books, about a boy and his mastiff. There was one about "a happy cat that was always purring, whose fur looked like mashed prunes" that stuck with me for how striking that imagery was. 😂

20. if you had to pick a country to live in outside of your own, which would it be?

I've always thought it would be super cool to live in Iceland or New Zealand—they're both beautiful places in environments I haven't experienced before. Pros of Iceland include: volcanoes, glaciers, and the possibility of riding an Icelandic horse at a tölt (a special gait) - pros of New Zealand includes general beautiful farmland, being slightly less rugged, and, of course, Hobbiton! (And at least two mutuals! As opposed to Iceland, which I don't think I know anyone from.) Also up there are Ireland or Israel. Travel has never been something I felt drawn to do much, but I'd like to visit those places at least for a while!

I have two sweet, fluffy Ragdoll cats, many assorted chickens, and a few dairy cows! I've always loved animals and enjoy living on a farm.

Since i see this topic in many other rewrites, here is a question to expand on faction culture:

How does each faction greet their clanmates with their body language? Is one faction more open to do friendly bumps, while another veers away from touch completely? Do some prefer to do it more agressively, or do some even completely hug any friendly cat they come across? It would be a great way to explore culture shocks, especially during the Gathering while all the Factions come together to meet and chat.

There’s definitely a ton of overlap across the fealty in terms of body language and mannerisms… and with that, in turn, there’s some significant culture shocks between them when it comes to physical greetings and general friendly gestures.

(Also added some verbal language stuff as well as body language,, sorry ^^’)

Fenlander

Very expressive, but very minute. Due to their nature of valuing silence and stealth above all else, alongside the pride they take in fealty Gesture originating with them, Fenlanders tend to have very intentional body language. No physical action taken by a Fenlander is ever done unintentionally. Akin to the body language of owls.

They tend to be incredibly elegant with their motions, purposeful in every step, every twitch of an tail and every flick of a whisker. They learn to rely more on body language than the spoken word very early on in their lives, valuing silence and intent over most everything else.

Because of this, most other fealty cats have great difficulty communicating with them. They’re easily frustrated by a Fenlander’s lack of verbal speech, and confused by their careful motions; it takes the truly devoted, and the truly patient to be able to commune with the Fenland regularly and smoothly.

Moorsweeper

Wide, broad, BIG movements! Meant to be comprehended over vast stretches of space (i.e., farmlands, moorlands, over the heads and backs of herds, etc).

Somewhat sloppy; think of it as ASL’s grammar system to those of you who know it. To those who don’t, it’s explained HERE fairly well, in my opinion. Very basic, meant to express meaning or danger rather than emotion.

Similar to rabbit body language. They’re very tense, commonly touch-adverse, and are oftentimes viewed as odd to those across the fealty alongside other cats, as their body language is less feline and more lagomorph.

Riverwarden

Bold!! Cuddly!! Playful!! Touchy!! If they have the opportunity to touch, they will touch. Due to their close proximity and shared history with the High Water Howlers, they’ve adopted many canine body language habits.

Highly physical and the most openly affectionate, commonly greeting others with a cheek rub, a head bump, a brush of their sides, etc; their tendency for casual touch easily extends to whenever they socialize and interact with others across the fealty, which tends to easily startle the far more reserved faction cats. As relationships are highly valued and seen as incredibly casual, so too is touch. Play is also exalted, and you’ll often find Riverwardens play bowing to one another or rolling to expose their bellies in an act of good faith, trust, and relaxation.

The most verbal of the fealty factions. In the Riverward’s most common languages (that being: Common and Freshwater), conversation etiquette is highly upheld; listening well, showing interest, being tactful, etc etc. Interrupting is extremely rude, and will oftentimes incite genuine offense or anger from a Riverwarden. Speaking gruffly is also highly looked down upon; rough tones is seen as inviting aggression into a conversation and robbing it of its fun. Their speech is also unique amongst the fealty factions: though they don’t exactly drawl, Riverwardens speak the slowest (and loudest!) of the factions, and they’re not afraid to use plenty of pretty words and lean heavily into wordplay.

Woodruffian

The most “feline” of the fealty cats ^^’ Oftentimes exhibit clear feline body language; being incredibly expressive via body language, expressing closeness to loved ones, enacting plenty of play-fights and rousing playful ���aggression”, etc etc.

Tails are used often and heavily within their body language, so much so that those without are sometimes treated as though they have an especially thick, heavy, muddled accent. It’s not that they can’t be understood, it’s just difficult. General posture is also incredibly important when reading the body language of a Woodruffian; they’re incredibly expressive when it comes to their emotions through their bodies and actions.

The most physically expressive and outright aggressive of fealty cats. Their language, day to day life, and culture is all heavy with physical markers, especially when it comes to displays or feats of strength, skill, or other physical actions.

I would like to shift the focus from Thrawn to Wullf Yularen, but remain in the same mindset as above.

Yularen had a long and decorated military career with the Republic which came to a zenith with the Clone Wars. Upon the transition (putting it mildly) from the Republic to the Empire, Yularen -like his counterpart Tarkin- followed Chancellor Palpatine on his rise to Emperor. In Yularen’s case, we are led to believe that there was no prior knowledge of the subterfuge practiced by Palpatine to achieve that goal.

While we only get a glance at Yularen in The New Hope, we get an achingly warm, grandfatherly glimpse of him in Rebels. In Rebels, we see a somewhat befuddled mentor who has been betrayed by his star student, Alexandr Kallus. We see pain and sadness.

It is this Yularen with whom I had my first Star Wars crush, and it is this Yularen who we often see portrayed in fan fiction.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, in Andor, we are treated to yet another version of Yularen. We see a cold, calculating tactician at the helm of the ISB, railing and rallying his troops to rise and ferret out the enemy. We see a fascist regime. We see the enemy.

The juxtaposition was jarring to me, as many questions begin to once again rise to the surface. What did Admiral Yularen think about Order 66? What did he think became of the Jedi Knight whom he worked most closely with, Anakin Skywalker? How did he reconcile the destruction of Alderaan whilst serving on the Death Star?

I turn to you, my most analytical author, and ask if I may: Please offer some insight into the May faces of Yularen, touching on my questions if you like. I would love to indulge in your consistently astute insight into one of my favourite characters.

I realise that I have dumped a lot in your lap, but I know you are the correct candidate for this heavy task!

Oh my goodness. Complex questions for a complex man.

Let's start with the Rebels Yularen as you have described him -- somewhat befuddled. But is he really? In that final scene with Thrawn he states that "Things have fallen into place a little too perfectly for my liking. And I don't think Lieutenant Lyste was capable of what you have accused him of." Yularen might not have landed on Kallus as the spy because of his fondness for his star pupil, but he knew that things were not as they seemed and they were being hoodwinked.

In Andor he has come to a meeting that is usually run by a subordinate. Why? Because what happened on Aldani is the first major action taken against the Empire. He says in part, "This is why we plan. This is why we work so hard when we are at peace. This is why we recruit so carefully. And demand so much."

He was a military man and you can see him thinking and planning on how to prevent the next war in his new role as head of the ISB. I'm certain he had no idea that Palpatine had engineered the Clone Wars. All he knows is how much was lost. How many ships and men he saw die. How many worlds were devastated. He helped found the ISB to try to make sure the Empire would be strong, resolute, ready to prevent another atrocity like the war.

It was also fairly clear that he found the Jedi somewhat inexplicable and often times very irritating. We know Anakin drove him to distraction. So while he might regret what happened to the Jedi Order all of his background and training as a military officer would incline him to accept the word of his commander and chief -- Palpatine -- that the Jedi were plotting to kill him and rule the galaxy. That Anakin tried to prevent the coup being planned by the Jedi and died valiantly defending the Chancellor. I don't think Yularen had any idea that Vader was Anakin reborn into darkness.

Yularen has always seemed to me a man who took the chain of command and his sworn duty very seriously, and the man who was guiding the war, and as far as Yularen knew, defending humanity was Palpatine. Yularen's training and background would lead him to trust the word of the Chancellor soon to be Emperor. It would help him to silence the doubts.

In a New Hope we have one brief glimpse of him at that conference when Vader chokes an officer. We never see him after the destruction of Alderaan. I have always felt that that action shocked Yularen to his core. Perhaps he retreated to his quarters. Tried to tell himself it was necessary. They would never have to do it again. Remind himself that the point of war is to convince the other side to stop fighting and this tragic but necessary action would end the rebellion and stop the fighting.

Or perhaps he sat in the dark realizing what he had done and what he had become. (I'm planning on dealing with that in We Regret so stand by). He is a deeply tragic figure in that he is fighting the last war and his desire to avoid that carnage ever occurring again leads him to betray his honor.

So to answer the opening question. Is Yularen a villain? Yes, certainly. But when he faced himself in the mirror each morning he saw a man defending the rightful government, upholding the rule of law, keeping the peace, preventing another war, without considering the plight of the people who had to live under that system. They had become mere abstracts, sacrifices to the larger mission. To the Greater Good.

Monika:That’s a good question! The Portrait of Markov managed to be allowed, as Yuri has brought that with her, and nothing has happened… and that has to do with human experimentation… At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream somehow got approved, ehehe…

Monika:Although the teachers not really “existing” might have something to do with that… I don’t recall any kinds of sanctions ever happening to us!

Monika:Though maybe the club has some kind of plot armor too… since it is the main focus of the game. The club getting disbanded would have to be some kind of bad ending if it’s even allowed at all, after all… I don’t really know much of how the game was actually supposed to end, since, well… I messed with all of that… and the game ended in a completely different way instead! It never even got to the festival, which probably would have been that final event that decides which ending you get. There weren’t character files for anyone else, so either it wouldn’t be possible to get new members, or the game would end shortly after the festival. Otherwise, the programmers would have made character files for the people who could have joined afterwards!

Monika:Or maybe it’s just another quirk of my world being a visual novel. Really, it’s a wonder that Natsuki hasn’t been questioning those things. So, as long as the books aren’t specifically about the monsters, and isn’t on the level of I Have No Mouth, it might actually work… though if it’s close to that, don’t be surprised if Sayori and Natsuki don’t take much of an interest, or if Yuri takes much more of an interest than what would be considered normal for a horror book…

Sayori:Oh! What if books about monsters were presented as fiction? While we don’t have real magic, there’s still plenty of stories about magic! 

Monika:…Those books are mainly just simply encyclopedias of how monsters work, without much of a narrative. The closest thing we’d have to literature in that sense would be the Monster History series, which would be kind of like The Silmarillion if we did present it as fiction. The others, at least the ones I was able to get from the game, look like appendix pieces to some main story… which wasn’t actually written.

Monika:But, since different sections of those books can actually be read in-game, it would be seen as someone filling in the gaps the game left off. As a sort of Undertale fanwork. So unless he wants to be seen as someone who writes full books of Undertale fanfiction, he made a smart choice to not bring those over. But maybe some of the books that I didn’t get to see can actually be presented that way… But it’s better to play it safe, right?

Monika:As for whether you should bring anything on the first day, it could work either way! The player character didn’t have much of an interest in literature at all at first, and brought nothing… as long as you’re open to discussing literature, they won’t have a problem with that. If there’s a book you want to bring, we can do that… and if you didn’t bring any, well, maybe you came to see what kinds of literature the literature club here had! 

Sayori:You probably didn’t know this Buttercup, but the fliers we used to advertise the club were things like “write the way into your heart” and “a place where you can express yourself”! It’s meant to be a place where everyone is meant to feel welcome in, no matter the kind of literature!

Monika:And yes… that does include manga. It didn’t originally, but oh, was I proven wrong about that! That was before the actual start of the game, actually.

(That didn’t stop her from putting the manga on the top shelf in the closet where Natsuki kept having a hard time reaching it, but that was probably Monika’s attempt at making Natsuki look bad. Natsuki does stubbornly refuse MC’s help getting it at first… Or maybe Monika didn’t want to mess with the script that early, and the teacher really did ask her to move it up there. Though that last part wouldn’t explain why she put the books in the wrong places in the box, so she had to have been trying to mess with how Natsuki looks in front of the player anyway. Or maybe Monika just didn’t care at all because she thought they weren’t real and that she was. I don’t think she’ll be doing that to the manga now, though.)
