never let me go or fish upon the sky
i am just now comprehending this question lol i was about to say it's a wild choice to make but i just realised the common denominator lmaoo
nlmg was my first pondphuwin show and my introduction to pond; i started watching it just to keep up with the community though i believed it was going to be too sad for me. i enjoyed watching it weekly, giffing it, contemplating palmnueng's dynamic and writing about it (thanks to the anon who asked me a question back then which i took days to answer 🤦♀️) - i did not, however, enjoy the last episodes as much, especially the finale - i was practically waiting for it to end impatiently. i think a part of why i enjoyed it was participating in the community discussions and stuff and also having an episode or two per week made it easier to digest. once i was binging, though, i became more impatient with the plotholes and conveniences.
futs was A Lot - the humour hit more than it missed or at least i'd like to think it did - the kitty gang are one of the most fun friend group supporting characters (also satang nail polish >>>) and despite the weirdest, most out of left field conflict between them in the last episodes, duean and meen remain a very cute side couple that could beat morkpi in many categories. there was a red lamp going off in my head during the first six episodes but im the type to give the benefit of the doubt so i ignored it until i couldn't anymore. i binged this show in two bites iirc - i stopped at the end of ep.5 and then proceeded the next day - 2 episodes later i was already having a Not good time lol, trying to justify things, hoping it's all intentional, that things will get better and when they kept getting worse? oh, it took a toll on me. i'm so grateful for the humour, aesthetics and supporting cast for getting me through it. because it truly is an enjoyable little show when it stays away from mork (and would i LOVE to stay away from mork - even pond playing him couldn't help, it actually made me associate pond's appearance with mork which was awful ngl)
yeah, anyways, if i have to pick i want to say nlmg, i just realised i even watched the our skyy 2 episodes and they were perfect and highlighted the couple's dynamic beautifully
the truth is if i haven't watched smth in a while i'll probably just think of how easy to the eye i found it and in this case it wasn't the muted greens, browns, blues and purples of nlmg :')
futs drove me up the wall, left me angrier than i thought possible, made me sick of pond's face and left me in disbelief nearly every episode, i watched the finale angry and ready to leave it all behind. which is honestly so impressive?? cause after all the anger i barely remember the feeling but i remember that it was colourful and quirky. maybe it's a me thing but still, it's valuable. when i read fish upon the sky i get hit by so many emotions at once, you'd think it's of the quality of itsay or smth.
basically: nlmg is closer to my heart. futs is closer to my fist. they're both pondphuwin projects i watched/restarted watching under influence (iirc @respectthepetty's for nlmg and @sparklyeyedhimbo and @pondphuwin's for futs), they both have their higher chemistry/lower chemistry couples, their silly and not-so-silly villains, their ups and their downs. i will pick nlmg but futs is a winner too, it's just in a league of its own.
#sorry to tag a mork supporter in a not so nice comment its really not personal <3#i still think about that argument about him learning to love pi properly#and yeah kali hope you dont regret asking me stuff <3#petri replies#ask game

(reread anon) One of the things that bugged me the most was Tolya, unfortunately. In the books he's so quiet and serious and devoted and in the show he's this comic relief and I did not vibe with that at all. And then that they took plot points from all the five books and mashed them into one season. That Nikolai already is infected but that it was a Volcra and not punishment from the darkling. That Alina didn't lose her powers and that Inej's Story and trauma was not explored or explained enough. wesper, I didn't like how "smol" they made wylan, it made me a bit icky and how they didn't make him smart or clever in the show. I could go on but you've already mentioned most of the things already haha
noooo you're so, so right about tolya. like what did they do to his character?!?!? i am almost done with my siege & storm reread and there is barely any overlap between book!tolya and show!tolya. in the books, he's such a sternly calm yet imposing presence and he's very devoted to alina & his faith. in the show, he's just kind of there, trying to recite poetry and swinging his katana? idk it's very weird for sure ((also, the thing they did with him and inej???? HUH???)). ((and don't even get me started on tamar and the tamadia neglect lmaooo. so bad.)). godddd, they really randomly picked plot points for this season, didn't they? it truly feels more like a disjointed highlight real than a coherent story. and then the scenes don't even hit because they lack necessary emotional build-up and characterisation because there is no proper narrative set-up 😭😭 in this fictional universe, it simply doesn't work to take storylines out of context and mess with the timeline like this. ((yes, i am still VERY bitter about the pekka rollins stuff............)). you're right, my boys, nikolai and wylan, suffered so much as well. their characterisations ranged from reductive to one-dimensional to kind of okay to feeble to downright stupid. nikolai is more layered then the show even tried to show. i know the writers said they are were not interested in exploring the nikolai merzost infection in any physical way, but i personally think that's such a missed opportunity. the entire thing of transforming into a monster and dealing with that and how that trauma affects your psyche and your self-perception is SO INTERESTING. it's also a great metaphor in an of itself, later on as a physical reminder of the pszchological trauma as well. and ofc the whole king of scars thing is just kind of 🤷♀️ now. and as you mentioned, having a nichevo'ya (?) infect him is just..... less powerful then it being retribution from the darkling. it kind of takes from both their storylines and developments. alina not losing her powers (and sun summoning powers not emerging in the other people) was SUCH a disappointment. literally did not want This Kind of "girlbossification" of alina, but here we are. making her a shadow summoner was...a Choice for sure. this entire last episode was a Choice. and not a particular sensible one. ngl the inej thing is probably one of the things that makes me angriest. they have such an interesting and well-rounded character to work with and instead of exploring inej as a (main) character in her own right they choose to make her a supporting act in the kaz-brekker-show. it's just so frustrating. and yeah, wesper were quite a let-down. i get what you mean about the dynamic feeling weird. it's just not really wesper to me, you know. and, like i mentioned earlier, wylan's characterisation is so ??????? i don't understand why they even went this "smolification" route. he's a cunning little bitch and instead of leaning into that they chose to take it and throw it out the window??? another writing decision in this show i simply do not understand. like, WHY DID THEY FEEL THE NEED TO DO THAT???!! TBH WHY DID THEY FEEL THE NEED TO DO ANY THEY DID???!?! even now that i have had time to sit with the season for a bit, i am still baffled by so many choices. most of the changes they made were either boring or weird or just unnecessary, and quite frankly, make me angrier the more i think about them. their narrative decisions literally only took from the story while adding nothing of value.
#y'all probably thought i was done with complaining and over it. but i was just busy and now i am back 🫶#this is very unedited stream of consciousness. sorry about that.#like i mentioned in my ask earlier: you get it <3#thank you so much for the ask!! i enjoyed it very much!!#anon#answer#mish watches sab#s&b2

💛, 🖤 💔, 🩶 and 🎃?
TRANSFORMER ANON🫵👁️👄👁️
💛 - top 3 versions of april
Rise April
03' April
87' April
This is in no specific order. I love them all<3
🖤 - top 3 versions of casey
Rise Casey Jr
03' Casey
87' Casey
I would say Cassandra but I'm just not as emotionally invested with her. Don't get me wrong she's still sick tho. But again, no particular order with the Casey's either👌👌
💔 - top 3 moments that make you cry
When Raph is crying during the series finale and he's just like "why cant I do this?"
Then Karai tells April she was always one of them.
When Splinters mom says hot soup with him.
Yes this is all from Rise. I feel like out of all the iterations Rise is the version that best utilizes color, line, music, and acting to manipulate the feelings of the viewers. It works on me every time. And the reason I didn't mention the movie is cuz the rise movie doesn't actually make me cry. It didn't the first time I watched it and it hasn't any of the other times I did. It still has emotional moments don't get me wrong, it's just not something that makes me cry.🤷♀️
🩶 - an overrated character/episode and an underrated character/episode
Overrated character? Definitely MM April. She just feels one dimensional to me. There is nothing all that relatable or likeable about her. Shes just kinda there. She has no emotional impact on me. It's hard for me to understand why people like her so much. I just choose to believe that she wasn't made for someone like me. Still overrated tho.
Overrated episode????? Ngl, I can't really think of an episode of a series that I thought was overrated. I think the Mutant Mayhem movie is overrated but that's a movie not an episode so🤷♀️
For an underrated character I would probably have to say Venus De Milo. I think her concept is really cool and I'd love to see her used in more main stream media. Same with Lotus Blossom. With all the references shows like MM are making to the 87' series and it's focus on romance you think they'd give Leo his og love interest at some point.
Underrated episode I would probably have to say Hypno Part Deux. It's an April central episode that I think does an expert job of highlighting April's insecurities. In general Rise April is a confidant and self assured character. However she struggles with community and feeling like she belongs. She is seen as an outcast or weirdo and longs to be accepted by her peers. In trying to be accepted by them she pushes away the people that actually care about her and ends up getting into a lot of trouble. In the end she realizes that not only does she already have her people but also that getting validation from people who don't care about you will never make you feel as loved. This episode really makes her moment with Karai more impactful as well, because everything ends up becoming full circle for her character. Yes she knows the turtles love her and care for her, so why care for Taylors opinion? Well, to quote her "I'm not one of you." April knows the turtles love her but she's not a mutant, she's not a hamato, and she doesn't have mystic powers. She cares for them but for a long time she doesn't feel like she truly belongs with humans or mutants. That she's to different to fit in with either. And I personally really relate to this version of April for that reason.
🎃 - top 3 favourite headcanons
That Rise Donnie's neck can stretch super far
03' Donnie still has red eyes after the good genes episode
12' Splinter sees himself in Leo and Oroku Saki in Raph which is why he focuses most on them and not so much on Mikey and Donnie.

hi, rory! <3 what majors would the sc veterans take if they were in the modern world?
hi, anon !! thank you so much for this ask, this is heaven in disguise from all my schoolwork. tbh, the whole time i was working for a lab report, my mind will go back to this ask bc i wanted to have the association as accurate as possible hhhajshw
i asked one of my friends for help and thank God for them bc my single brain cell really said 'it's time for you to rest' after staring at one backlog. without further ado, here are the veterans' majors if they're studying in university:
first off, hange zoe, because if you ask me this question in real life, they would be the only one i can answer. every damn time i would think of them in a college setting, being a biology major is really hange's forte. at this point, this is what everyone would associate them with.
hange is all about experimenting and doing brilliant breakthroughs in any field of science but knowing that they have this unparalleled fascination with the unusual and unexpected life-forms (ahem titans ahem), the biology lab would be the surest place where you could find hange. i feel like biology is too broad so i will add that microbiology or bacteriology are just some of the specializations they will be taking in their time in college.
imagine, being lab partners with hange and immediately knowing that you will have one of the highest grades in the class because they're that well-versed in a specific lab report. and if you're partners with them for the rest of the academic year, you might as well have a shot at an immaculate grade. i'm not saying that you should depend on them too much though hHHHH, hange is still a member of the majority of the student body who relies heavily on caffeine to keep them invigorated. who isn't at this point?
so far, some of the biology majors that i encountered (well, more like chatted behind a screen — online classes suck), they have this energy that could drain my social battery too quickly and hange fits that description. (note that this doesn't apply to any college bc i observed this in mine soooo 🤭) they're the type to always go on a tangent on a certain science article or coerce you into joining this org thing. i can imagine levi just looking at hange like they're the one sucking his brain cells out whenever they speak about a documentary in bbc they watched the night before.
and if you're stuck on anything biology-related, hange will be the best person to ask help from. they're the first ray of sunlight you get while waking up. they're that approachable.
okay, so erwin smith.
don't come at me but he just radiates this ceo vibes and with that, one of his probably majors is business administration. i know this is so stereotypical of me but let's face it, erwin is a smooth talker through and through and if he doesn't take up marketing, business is one way to spend his college years. knowing his personality in attack on titan of establishing deals easily with a determined resolve, he fits the broadest description of being a business administration major. (again, don't come at me because my consultant for this statement is google and nobody comes after google sometimes hhhhh)
just for the benefit of myself, i will add what google says about this major, "[they] learn the mechanics of business through classes in fundamentals, such as finance, accounting and marketing ... students find ways to solve problems using data and they develop communication and managerial skills." and i thank you.
he's also probably the most well-spoken and most professional when conversing with others among his friends (and i'm not saying this to drag the other characters but this is what i pick up on) and that is exactly the qualities his major specializes. it is expected for them to strike deals and be a people person and who better character for the job than our very own erwin smith 🤩
now i mentioned 'one of the probable majors' and yes, aside from business administration, philosophy just exudes erwin smith. ngl, when i imagined erwin in a college setting, this major will always come first. his mind is just so sexy to me??? and i hope you guys think the same, too, because i don't want to be the only one who thinks that 👀 kidding aside, erwin is one of the smartest people in attack on titan and every time he speaks in one episode, my brain will instantly go mush, and that's what i feel when i hear philosophy majors talk.
philosophy majors (according to any other youtuber who does lookbooks for various majors hhhhhh) challenge what is unanswerable and analyze questions with no right answer. i feel like erwin, like hange, will talk all night to explain a theory. just imagine a date with him and you just listen to him rant about a topic that they should be making a report on. just listen to this man, okay?? it's adorable when he lets his guard down to include you in his little bubble of philosophies. he would also mention random things that he learned in classes, sometimes finding joy in knowing the philosophies of other people, or even deciphering levi's dream of an apocalyptic world. (it pisses levi off but he just leave him be.)
if you want a man who can do both of these majors, erwin smith is the answer 😉
sigh, mike zacharias.
this man holds so many talents and will forever amaze me.
i assume all of us here watched the movie perfume. and no, i'm not saying that mike is going to be a murderer but just like the main character of that film, making perfumes will be his forte with that sense of smell of his. and here, i conclude that mike will definitely take up chemical engineering.
he gives me the vibes that if it covers the one thing he does best, he will love his major. (mr. zacharias, can you please spare me that quality because i really need that now 😩) being in the labs while experimenting mundane things that can be found in the environment to create different scents is also a likely situation you can find him in, again, very much like hange. he's the type of student who really puts so much effort in staying afloat the honors list, even to the point of topping midterms in his major, for the sake of his dream. there will never be a moment where you will catch him complain about his major and professors.
he's that type of friend in college who agrees to any rant you say but in reality, he's got his life easy 😭
i headcanon mike owning a perfume shop after college just like how levi always dreamed of having a tea shop.
okay, imagine this little scenario if you're dating mike where he creates this unique perfumes as random gifts for you. they're not the typical perfumes that can seep through the room and can make you gag for no reason, they're subtle scents that will stay for the duration of the day. because again, he's got a sensitive nose, so making perfumes according to what his sense of smell dictates will always result in a revolutionary experiment. if you're randomly blurting out that you want a fusion of flowers and fruits as your perfume, say no more, he's your man.
now, the veteran who i find the hardest to associate a major with — levi ackerman.
after much deliberation and a break from plant physiology, i see him taking up law or criminology.
(i asked some of this from my mom because she attended law school :>>>)
levi is so organized and detailed in the things that he do and he fits in either of these majors since they require tedious memorizations and analysis of laws and crime scenes while being assertive enough to defend someone. he's the typical person who blurts out the true situation of a crime scene when watching film adaptations. yeah, he's that person, the one who sucks the enthusiasm out of you while watching a movie because he just had to correct some of the scenes. nevertheless, he means well though, he just wanted you to understand the reality unlike how films portray gruesome murders. movie nights always end up with levi ranting about half-assed mystery clichés.
levi's binder of readings are always too bright for everyone's good. his notes are full of highlighters and scribbles that it can blind someone. for one, he's always up all night studying his readings and cases for a practice court so by choosing neon highlighters, it's a way for him to wake up. there isn't one book in his possession that he doesn't highlight like it's a fricking coloring book. hange once jokingly said that his binder now acts like his bible and for once, he agrees because he was never seen without one. hange had a field day since levi never agrees with them.
when doing practice courts though, his go-to resting bitch face always come in handy when carrying out his role as one of the lawyers. he's just so sexy with his hands in the pockets of his slacks as he tries to justify his supposed client. the way he questions the accused definitely isn't hot because he's like one of the panelists in your thesis defense, the one who just comes up with questions that have you melting on the spot. he's dangerous i tell you. it also doesn't help if you accidentally hurt one of his friends or just landed randomly in his blacklist for being annoying as hell. relax though, he doesn't mean harm other than the fact that he's ready to throw some hands from all the pent-up rage he gathered in his body.
of course, i couldn't forget how he dresses up like a typical dark academia fanatic so look out for eye-candy.
if you want someone who can recite articles from the constitution, this man is perfect for you 😌
i had so much fun doing this !! again, i'm not generalizing every major i've talked about in these little headcanons, this is all for fun and based on the people i encountered in college. if you want more of this, don't hesitate to ask !! 😚

Hello!! I absolutely love your fandorm and all your ocs and I can't wait to see more content for them however I have a question!! Will we see personal interactions with Yuu/MC and the characters throughout the story or will they always interact with the characters as one whole unit? Also, how would your other OC's interact in their own stories from the canon dorms? Such as Pomefiore or Ignihyde. I absolutely love Vinh and Sarge so it would be interesting on how they act in their own stories!!! ❤️❤️❤️
ANON U ARE SO SWEET OML THANK YOU 😭😭😭😭 like a sweet kiss to my chrome dome ❤️ my semester actually just ended so u don’t know how giddy i am to try and be more active and make more content >:]
IN REGARDS TO UR QUESTION!!!! i definitely intend on having stagrove find ways to interact with yuu (mc) separately 😳 as important as being a cohesive singular unit is to stagrove, i think it’s even more important to understand them all as individuals !!
i’m actively working on plotting everything out so that the story feels super solid to me but >:) all in due time.
AND IN REGARDS TO CANON DORM CHARAS!! omg i think abt this so much but i think first and foremost the thing i prioritize most with them is that they don’t interject too much into canon?
specifically in the instance of sarge and vinh w pome/igni 😭 ngl i’m waiting for more to unfurl w ignihyde before i start cranking up my brain gears abt how she fits in the story but sarge………. takes a back seat! or at least, from what we can see! i still need to brush up on my reading to refine my point but 🤡
i rly love to explore the narratives of characters who arent going to have much influence on how the plot unfolds directly however i do like to key into their perspectives….? their importance would be highlighted Before the actual main story episodes i feel ! bc sarge (being the glass coffin) i feel that he definitely is kind of responsible for some of the resentment that vil feels towards neige……..?
i think the largest glaring point is how sarge recognizes that vil isn’t enough . or how sarge kinda preys vil’s one-sided rivalry once he picks up on it…? not to any violent means but sarge always seems to trying to imply (to vil) that maybe the biggest problem rly isn’t other ppl at all 🫣 but in spite of vil’s endless diligence and self-awareness, he still somehow found a way to make it worse for himself and get cornered.
I WAS ACTUALLY LOOKING INTO MAKING A LITTLE COMIC SPIN-OFFS OF MY OCS DORM EPISODE AS SMALL PRELUDES…. for fun and a little narrative exploration, alas 🤧🤧 time is a constraint and my body is feeble
#twst#twisute oc#answers#I NEED IGNIHYDE TO COME OUT I NEED TO ROLL MY THOUGHTS AROUND SENSELESSLY#sarge @ vil best summarized as: if u need a villain so bad then here i am but i think we both know the truth#TY FOR ASKING THO THIS RLY WAS SO SWEET AND HOT MY BRAIN ROLLING#v speaks#stagrove#sarge glase#vinh torch

Hello, may I request for Albedo hcs for an s/o who is inattentive? For example, the reader has difficulty reading long sentences or paying attention for a short time span, and ends up zoning out a lot? (If you're comfortable with this request of course, since it comes from me having inattentive adhd, or if you aren't too busy...) (But other than that please take care of yourself (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)) Thank you ( ╹▽╹ )
:DD
Somehow these requests are pulling out my Psychology teachings ahahha- this is honestly such a nice prompt cuz I miss my college roomie, I love her so much and she has adhd. I might be projecting but I'll be using her techniques in this too! This was so cute and fun to work on awwwwwwwwww thank you anon!
The Curious Case of S/O
Albedo with a Reader that has a hard time focusing
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e4583d42351899b1383515297d1c7be4/ff3a01d97592ae9a-3b/s540x810/e299319c560eda2f2f76cec885a51649b7c971e7.jpg)
I saw someone hc Albedo as an autistic character and I actually agree with it, so some of that aspect will seep in to this answer eheh-
SO!
When it comes to things Albedo is passionate about, he keeps himself grounded and focused on it for an unhealthy period
So when Albedo found out about your curious case, safe to say he was intrigued too, and sometimes frustrated
You’re all over the place and it kind of irks him when you can’t stay put and just- keep moving to different stuff?
But Albedo knew this before you got together and he took it upon himself to make sure you’re taken care of whenever such episodes happen, he’s your lover and a genius, he can and will find a way
Reading: Albedo loves reading literature and will offer to read out the text for you if you get frustrated enough over it. He may not have all the time in the world, but if it’s important that you understand this text he will make sure you do so
His voice is really nice and calming, but sometimes- you get so lost in them that you ended up just focusing on his voice instead of uhhh paying attention to what he was saying
big sigh
If that approach doesn’t work then he’s got another trick up his sleeves!
Doodles, sketches, all that cute artistic stuff!
There’s a chance you already do this but he’s gonna make this 95% more effective!
When taking notes for big texts, he’s gonna draw little doodles to the side so you can get a good grasp of what it means just by looking over it.
If the text is especially long, he’ll give it a quick once over, and then rewrite it just to highlight the most important parts you need to remember
He’ll take it up a notch and use different colored pens to write over it so you would know what you need to read without going through the whole chapter
If he wills it, Albedo would find himself incorporating such techniques on his notes as well and he’ll just chuckle at his antics (smiling every time he remembers you through his lil notes)
Being inattentive also makes it so you forget or not take note of important stuff
Chief Alchemist also has a good remedy for this!
Given, this was established after numerous trials and errors of finding the best route
F I N G E R R I N G B A N D S
This boyo had this genius enlightenment of an idea one day and prepared the necessary materials
Ngl you actually thought he was gonna propose when he offered that golden ring, you were about to cry
until you see him bring out ten more rings, multi-colored
w h a t
And so he explains as he grasps your non-dominant hand:
“Your thumb represents the early morning, from when you wake up after the sun.
Your index finger signifies the period of 12PM, the moments the busy-ness starts, never forget to eat lunch always, darling.
Your middle finger is the longest and busiest hour, the middle of the afternoon where the sun is high up in the sky. You’ll find yourself running around a lot during this period, and I won’t always be there to remind you.
Your ring finger,” he pauses to give it a gentle kiss, “someday. But anyways, this is the period when the darkness starts to devour the sky in place of the sun. You should be cleaning up and finishing all other tasks at this period.
And finally your pinky finger, almost at the dead hours of the night, god knows what you’ll be doing at this time when you should be ready for rest. I don’t want to see a lot or any rings here, for you should be in my arms by this time.”
After that heart-warming, proposal-like dialogue, he’ll offer the rings and explain as best he can
The red ring represents deadlines; blue stands for commissions; white is for meet-ups; pink is for self-care or routines
He holds up the gold rings with a soft smile, placing one in each finger as he explains, “This one stands for me. Make sure that on every finger I am there, to remind you that I wish to know how you are, to accompany me so that I can remind you that I love you every day of the year.”
If you’re still alive after this, good for you
OTherwise I’m dead, this man is so cheesy and hnghhh-
After all that, Albedo wakes up with you and helps you organize your rings for the day <3
It looks nice and glamorous on your hand, and even if you get distracted by it, you’ll find yourself being reminded of what you need to do
Genuis boyo
But that’s not even 100% of his power
nononono he has another solution and this was something he picked up after spending time with you
His pretty t e a l eyes (just look at that damn banner)
You seem to stop everything when he focuses his eyes on you, eye contact, like you’re grounded or crystallized
Somehow when you see eye-to-eye it gives him enough time to remind you that you’re focusing on the wrong thing, go back to your notes
It’s just- so pretty :((
Works 99% of the time!
The rare 1% it doesn’t work tho, you get this very rare moment: before you can even move away from your task, finding yourself not caring about it again, he’ll just wrap his arms around you from behind. They’re comfortably tight, grounding your feet to the floor as he whines against your hair, scolding you and telling you to finish your stuff first
You couldn’t say no to a cute whiney Albedo
You can’t
//brings out knife// You better not-
Bonus: Albedo likes to focus on the important things, but he’s easily intrigued by curious things too
And with your tendency to lose focus and notice other things, this becomes a chaotic series of events
You’re both silently sitting in his laboratory, him sketching a diagram of his current research
You look up from the papers you were reading as you lose focus and the movement would easily catch Albedo’s attention, ready to move his lips to call you back-
“Oh, is that Crystalfly changing colors out there?”
“Huh?”
You’re both rushing to the window where you saw the phenomenon

(♡μ_μ).
Ngl while my sis's cancer diagnosis is like surreal as sh*t, right now everything is looking REALLY good. (I'll expand on this in SS-anon's ask that I see out of the corner of my eye <33)
Some hearts for y'all beloved homie(s):
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
But damn I'm sorry y'all. Like yeah I'm always a lying liar that lies when I say things like "Gonna liveblog tonight" [3 days no word] LOL.
See I have a multi-layered problem that consumes my time faster than GIff consuming Squid.
Yeah, life (lol). But for me it's a mix of my ADHD fking me up sideways and a little to the right.
I always feel like things would flow much smoother if I was more transparent and just live-blogged every now and again what I'm doing like "LoL at work yee YEE". Cuz then at least you'd get a feel for what exactly I'm doing instead of like the three days of silence.
(Three being a metaphorical representation of any number to infinity)
But why it takes me so long boils down to three things (for myself and productivity) ---
(1) Time Blindness (this one ALWAYS gets me LOL)
you would not believE how fast a day can go for me. Like these weeks have been flying by so quick I feel like I'm drownin (rip)
(2) The clock and expectation mixing together gives me an unfortunate bout of anxiety.
Like I rlly love and appreciate every1 that follows and enjoys and engages with my liveblogs lol. It's really such a highlight being able to share my thoughts and just go fan-crazy with other ppl who *GET* it, y'know? And it is also SUCH a motivator.
But tumblr's media limit shot me with adrenaline. Where (with my time blindness lmao rip) I always feel like I'm in a race against the clock to post as much as I can before it hits midnight (and everything resets)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/865d8c749eada722537825920db6ac11/be1b309bc37e07c3-9a/s500x750/317dda2cc04b487a80d798548cf4dc831ede7b1f.jpg)
So if its like 10pm the amount of anxiety spikes that shoot through me if I even glance at the clock and put any care on time is like insane actually. I guess "adrenaline" is more correct than anxiety, but it def has an anxious edge to it.
And I don't really care about anxiety cause I'm not an anxious person. A lot of people actually call me too laid back /lackadaisical.
But the problem is that if I get these spikes they almost immediately send me into a mixed state.
(Lol no idea if y'all even kno what that is so:)
And if I get into a mixed state oooooooooo. Well lets just say those are the times where I have the tumblr tab open along with like 20 other tabs, and then I proceed to spend 42-75 hours without sleep obsessed over something random and unimportant.
(last week I was looking at BJD --hAH. That I can't even afford smh. WHY. And I did this for at least 42 hours without sleep. ).
....This post is getting too long so:
TLDR;
I work a job but since I'm a writer (in my own time), I need to write/edit, and also I need to practice drawing -- And these can take up an incredibly long amount of time if I don't set alarms LOL.
Then combine that with ADHD, and bi-polar episodes and WOO. We are truly partying >:)). And THEN combine that with life responsibilities and things like my physical health issues --directly relating to food allergies, which are always ready to duke it out with me in the yard.
(Below is a journal entry from when I was in a mixed episode)
(If I don't seriously monitor when I last ate and how much I ate my blood sugar drops and I get brain fog that makes it literally impossible for me to think or retain anything in my mind past 5 seconds.)
#I mean I def get distracted do other things LOL#I'm literally making the stupidiest revice ppt rip#and also working on revice fanfiction / drabble#one requested by you mxbbadperson#mxbbadperson#anons#kronthescoup#my thougts#kamen rider revice#ikki why is ur demon so cringe#kamen rider#revice liveblog#4lyfe#asks#inbetween baths#bath 34#revice

second part of that long ask from ur swf anon :)
after the main dancer was chosen for each class, they would complete the choreo and decide formations for their performances. one of the benefits of the main dancer was that they were always center. they also had the benefit of wearing more embellished clothing to stand out (most noticeable in x class, where rian the main dancer was wearing orange while everyone else was wearing green). here is the full list (mnet truly has the WORST camera angles, so i only included the full cam ver of the performances):
1. assistant class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aF2evLz98h4&ab_channel=MnetTV
2. leader class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srjJzRVVmxc&ab_channel=CHANNIECHANNEL
the judges shared that even though no:ze was the main dancer/in the center/had the most shiny outfit, they didn't really see her. all the other dancers, in their opinion, stood out and overpowered her.
3. sub class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY_3E7W8v30&ab_channel=CHANNIECHANNEL
4. x class (i'm not sure what this class was called): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC-_8fbn_s4&ab_channel=Whatthejess
judges shared that lip j was the stand out of this class. she's the girl on the far left at 0:36. (it was originally her choreo but rian was chosen as the main dancer so that's why she is credited.)
*i only included comments that were stand outs.
-
i'm not sure how much creative input the main dancers were given regarding stage design... they didn't show it in the episode so i'm assuming that mnet just told them to show up and perform (because like, the rainbow thing they shot at the end of the leader's performance seemed so random? it didn't match what they were doing). after each performance, the main dancers from each class were asked to pick someone who they thought was the worst dancer. in doing so, the person chosen would lose points for their crew.
judges also chose an mvp crew they thought were the best. prowdmon (monika + lip j + others [sorry i don't know their names. the show really only focuses on these two]) was selected and this gave them the advantage of choosing which crews went against each other in ep4. so, it wasn't a random lottery draw! in the episode, they only showed the part where prowdmon chose to go against wayb (context: no:ze, the main dancer from the leader class, chose monika as the worst dancer. and this made her mad so she was like we're going against wayb - no:ze's crew). i'm not sure why they didn't show how the other crews were paired up. because ya, coca n butter + hook is definitely an interesting match.
also like, wayb was eliminated from the show after ep4's mission.
-
and it seems like from here on out, there will be a mission each episode to determine who will be eliminated. i'm honestly not too sure. for their next mission, they're doing a mega crew mission and mnet doesn't really explain it; but it seems like each crew is doing a performance on a larger scale (with more members added to their crew). also, like mnet is ass and doesn't upload all the performances onto their channel..... they only upload the ones that were the most popular/had the biggest public reaction which is why i had a hard time finding the clips for the classes mission. hopefully they do from here on out.
another v long post. thank u again for reading and sharing ur thoughts! always love hearing them. (also, pls let me know if i'm oversharing. u mentioned not caring for the competitive nature and drama so i'm not sure if i was adding too much. there really isn't drama imo. mnet tries to do their best to edit and make it seem that way but when u watch the show, the girls truly root for each other and are friends.)
mnet truly has the worst camera angles i hate them so much. also why are they still streaming on a goddamn potato. the quality is SO bad i can barely see anything!! there's a lot of me complaining in this one i'm sorry in advance.
1. assistant class
i have to assume that whoever they chose as the main dancer is the one that stays in centre because i cannot tell from the clothing at all. i don't think she was a standout performer here, but also the camera and the fire effects are WAY too wild to actually get a good grasp on who even was the standout. i also have to assume that the dancers have no say in the design because design is not a big part of street dance and this kind of chaos screams m 'too-much-money-dont-know-how-to-use-it' net. they built this massive set, barely used it, and didn't leave enough room for the proper formation spacing!! ugh. i hope the judges actually got to see a locked off version of this without all that fire in front of the camera because if i were them i would be squinting down the end of my glasses like a grandma at the screen. that's what i was doing anyways but still.
2. leader class
i have to agree, i don't think noze stood out as the main dancer here. and geniunely i cannot tell that they embellished her costume more. like damn, that stylist took a masterclass in subtlety, because i was easily paying more attention to whoever was wearing those massive thigh high cutout garter stockings and woven bodysuit combo. i am assuming that the point of these challenges was probably to be noticed the most so that they can score points and pick who they went up against for the elimination round? i'm not entirely clear but my point remains; ngl i don't really like this method of creating performance because it means that no one is there to create a performance, yanno? troupe/group choreo like this thrives on teamwork to actually make it a good performance. i know it's a pretty classic method of weeding out people for auditions and stuff like that but personally i find it a wholly uncompelling viewing experience, especially when it's a fully produced stage like this. i know everyone very likely gets along behind the scenes but the incohesion of intent is very obvious. also what's up with the assistant class getting a massive set and the leaders getting a bunch of cars and some smoke pyrotechnics? i mean, i am glad they filmed it during the day, but i am confused by the disparity.
3. sub class
i wish i could describe how poorly mnet shot this. it's not a fucking mama stage, it's a dance stage!! we need to see the choreo properly!!!! and together!!! obviously i don't care about stitching together different takes for the final edit but just...not having a continuity at all in the choreo is a bit jarring. again, i am also not sure how one is supposed to evaluate how well these dancers did, because i can barely see what people are doing. or who the main dancers are. i know i'm railing a lot on mnet here but i can't give an accurate reading of the dancers because legitimately it is so hard to tell what's going on. if they want to bill this as a legitimate dance show, why are they shooting it like a kpop performance? the camerawork for kpop serves a specific function: to add to the visual spectacle and to highlight the idols' faces. you don't need either of those things for shoot choreography, so why do we keep getting closeups of dancers' faces? not that these dance videos aren't spectacle-y or fun, because they very much are, but they really suck at their one primary function, which is displaying the choreo.
4. x class
this is definitely the one where the camera work is the closest to what it should be, but then they go and fuck it up by adding rain! just the groundwater would have been fine, but noooo they had to add the extra rain so there would be extra water drops on the lens!! this is my favourite choreo of all four of these, i think there's the most cohesion and (excluding the rain) it's got a good mix of spectacle with the water and the blacklight and the right camera angles to show the choreo mostly well. i still don't understand why they cut in those sections that don't fit with the rest of the flow though. why. you could have one-taked this and it would have looked dope as fuck. i agree that lip j stands out the most, obviously it's her choreo so it's the best suited to her character and abilities.
---
if it wasn't a random lottery draw they should at least have the courtesy of showing people why who picked who!! that's the most interesting part! and i'm not that surprised about wayb being eliminated, prowdmon really stomped them into the ground with that revenge energy. i'm interested in this larger scale performances concept, because i'm not really sure what that looks like in this particular context. if they do end up on youtube i will review them! and you're not oversharing at all, the context is fine! i don't mind reading it as information, i just don't like actually watching it with my own eyes. i can't watch that kind of thing in reality tv because it makes me want to sit everyone down like a kindergarden teacher and go "ok, now why are we all yelling?". too many years of tense rehearsal conflict negotiation and i just want to whack everyone upside the head. it's not very cathartic for me lmao. i have no doubt that everyone is friends because dance scenes are small and i'm sure they've all worked together lots, but even just the editing sets off my fight or fight reflexes.
#street woman fighter#swf#swf reviews#yes i did mean fight or fight i have no flight reflex#i only know violence or advanced conflict management#go into theatre they said. costume design is fun they said#little did 18yro me know i was going to be yelling at actors for eating in costume and trying to convince directors out of stupid ideas#for 90% of my working hours#anyways swf anon i'm sorry this is mostly complaining and not really talking about the dancing#i will try to do more of that for the next episode#for a show supposedly about street dance there's not very much street dance? even the battles are kinda wonky#they dont follow the rules very well and theyre skewed waaaaayyyyyy more towards musicality/showmanship than technique#which is the opposite of how battles usually are graded. i know that it's likely because they don't have actual battle judges#(no disrespect to boa. but i don't think being a battle judge has been a career calling for her)#but its still a bit hmmm for me. i know the idols and the connection to the idol industry is probably what's bring in the views but#it is a very different industry than the street dance one#text#answers

So i'm expecting A LOT of changes to atla for the live adaptation. In a perfect world there wouldn't be any changes ,but what are some adjustments or additions to the series that you wouldn't mind seeing? Like something you would like to see more of or less of. ?For me I would love to see more of Tophs and Zuko's friendship. Also would love to see a scene with Katara talking w sokka or someone admitting that she blood b for the second time. Maybe in this scene is where she finally decides that she never wants to to blood bend again maybe a little bit of foreshadowing because she eventually makes it illegal later on
So hey Anon. I know it’s been two months and I’m really sorry I just straight up forgot about this but I’m really hoping you’re somehow reading this.
I’m gonna be honest and say part of the reason I forgot about this is that the Netflix live-action series kind of just left my mind. I’ve been growing distant from it ever since Bryke left the project but then Avatar Studios was announced so I was like “Netflix who?” But like, I’m still hoping the live-action will be at least decent.
I actually think that even in a perfect world there’d be changes, if for no other reason than the medium change. Also, as much I believe ATLA is the pinnacle of television there for sure are changes that would improve it, especially in season 1. I’ve been wondering about what episodes they’d do since the Netflix show was announced since I think it’s fair to say they won’t do 20 episode seasons. I expect episodes to be longer than 25 minutes but the adventure of the week nature of book 1 means they’d still leave some stuff out. Given that there isn’t a single episode of ATLA that doesn’t get referenced in some way or another later on it’s a tough call but I think we can all live without “Great Divide” lol.
A general rule of thumb with adaptations, imho, is that characters come first. There was that (probably baseless) rumour about making Katara the elder sibling. That’d be a great example of not understanding the source material and the characters so I do hope that doesn’t happen. The thing about every single change is that, especially with a story that as carefully constructed as ATLA, it can change everything. It’s a ripple effect. For example, change Jet in a substantial way and it would change Sokka, Zuko and Katara - that’s three out of the five mains! So while I’d welcome some changes, pretty much ones like what you listed, I’m wary of them.
Seeing more interactions between characters is always good but there has to be a point. I love me some quality time between Zuko and Toph but, contrary to popular belief, they didn’t need a life-changing adventure. If any additional scenes between them serve the characters, such as highlighting thematic parallels then yeah that’d be good. Glob knows I adore the water sibs and the one thing I’d probably elaborate on is bloodbending but again, this is very tricky. Bloodbending is one of the most cohesive and thematically consistent aspects of the whole franchise and there’s a part of me that thinks any more scenes would dilute that.
That said I always did feel like Katara’s moment of darkness should have been reflected upon more. Part of the reason she’s so misunderstood in the fandom, imo, is that her arc is a lot more subtle than e.g. Zuko’s and some acknowledgement of “The Puppetmaster” and her bloodbending in “The Southern Raiders” could have changed that. I’d probably have her reflection at the end of the episode be primarily with Sokka and include an honest conversation about trauma and how they dealt with it differently. It doesn’t have to be too on the nose as that would go against their dynamic but Sokka deserved a bigger part in that story. Ngl I kinda dislike that the end of “The Southern Raiders” is used to introduce Aang’s moral dilemma. This is my favourite episode ever but the very beginning and very end feel somewhat disjointed from the rest. Understandable since it’s so close to the finale and the last “serious” ep before Sozin’s Comet but I think the adaptation could introduce that dilemma earlier and allow TSR to be entirely about Katara (and also more about Sokka). Katara can still have that moment of forgiveness with Zuko and it’s still a life-changing field trip between them but, yeah.
Going back to bloodbending, I do think that even just one impactful line about it would be a good addition to the story. You know, like when Toph says “he’s lying” in “Lake Laogai?” Yeah like that. Just a small gut punchy moment. Because Katara’s reflection on bloodbending, as is now, is more implied than anything so I think that final decision on her part to reject it would be good, and you’re right, foreshadowing her outlawing the practice.
Surprise surprise I got carried away with bloodbending, again, but yeah there are a few small things I’d change but it’s always tricky. As it stands now, I honestly don’t trust Netflix to make the good kind of changes. Transforming book 1 into something more cohesive could be interesting but that adventure of the week format is part of its charm and makes sense for the story of that season. I fear that they’ll make the same mistake as the godawful movie did in that Zuko’s arc will be much more on the nose. I fear a lot of things about it, actually. And maybe I’ll talk more about this as we get closer to actually getting any news from this project or as I inevitably do my annual Avatar rewatch. For now, I’ll say that there are things that could be changed but I don’t trust the production to make the right choices so I’m very happy Avatar Studios will most likely overshadow whatever Netflix does. And I hope Avatar Studios dares to come up with new content! But that’s another discussion.

helloooo it is i the supernatural anon from a day or two ago :)
may or may not be binge watching it slightly so I've already finished season one and one episode of season 2. what can i say, not only am i enjoying the show but I'm very excited and impatient for castiel to show up so i will probably keep this binge watching up until season 4.
as for season 1 tho,, man,, ok imma roast it a bit before i get into the stuff i loved because most of the time the first few episodes, or even first season, of a show can be pretty bad while they are still figuring out what works and what doesn't.
--
ngl episodes 2-9 were a little boring. i think it's because they set up that whole 'their mother and jess died to a demon' thing and didn't mention it much for quite a few episodes after? apart from the 'we gotta find dad' stuff of course. i think those episodes were important though because it allows us to get a feel of the main characters and the types of creatures that live in the same world as them, but after so many episodes it gets a bit boring.
the structure of those episodes was a bit common as well. like you can see the same type of 'audience watches thing happen, then watches the main characters deal with it' in many other shows, and it becomes a bit predictable after a while (Johnathan Creek is a show that uses this structure, it's basically the same thing except it's mysteries without supernatural elements, each mystery and solution per episode is really clever)
after episode 9 the stories became far more interesting, which makes the predictable structure far more forgivable.
allowing the main characters to create relationships with other characters also played a huge part in it's improvement. like the woman with the brain tumor, the ending to that episode became far more difficult to predict because on one hand dean and the viewer has now bonded with this woman and feels pity for her, but on the other hand someone innocent will die. i mean they did it before in eps 2-9, but with this plus the more interesting stories it became easier to feel for these characters.
speaking of that faith episode, as well as the demon truck one, i see what you mean about the homophobia and racism. i think it's meant to be there because of historical stuff as well as outdated religious stereotypes. of course this doesn't excuse it, but that's the reason i think it's there.
--
i absolutely loved the episodes with their father and the demon they're trying to kill. i think the show is far more suited to an ongoing story rather than a different issue popping up each episode. that's not to say it should be all ongoing story, spicing it up with one offs is important too.
i think it was a great choice to introduce characters like bob or meg (i think? I'm bad at remembering names oops) because it gives a sense of the characters world being far larger than what we see on screen, which is important to make it convincing.
it also gives us an opportunity to see how the characters interact with characters that exist for longer than a single episode, which adds more depth to their character and makes them far more interesting and real.
and the whole car crash thing?? and the episode after with the reaper and making a deal with the demon?? and the dad's death?? clearly what I've watched so far is only just scratching the surface of what this show has planned and it's potential. very very excited to watch season 2 :)
and again, no pressure to write a whole 5 paragraphs back in response, or even respond fast, i don't wanna burn you out lol
Anon, I can wholeheartedly tell you that your asks could not possibly burn me out! They're a highlight to my day :) and, me too, anon. I managed to binge all 15 seasons within 29 days (which I guess says alot about my priorities).
I'm going to confess, I actually enjoy the Monster Of The Week™ episodes inbetween the storyline; then again, really plot-heavy shows tend to tire me out, so I'm definitely a biased opinion when it comes to MoTW eps.
And yes! Faith has always stood out to me as one of my favourites in Season 1. One quote that stuck with me was "if you're going to have faith, you can't just have it when the miracles happen; You have to have it when they don't." Like. Holy shit.
As for Meg and Bobby? THEE side characters. I love them so so much (especially because they aren't afraid to criticise the Winchesters <3). Sometimes the show tries to force in a brothers-only sort of plot, which is fine, but cuts off so many fantastic allies that could make it a great deal more interesting! So (without mentioning names as to keep this spoiler-free) that's why I absolutely adore some of the late-season side-characters.
I think I've covered everything in your ask - again, thank you so so much for sending it in, they're really fun to answer!!! :) I hope I didn't ramble too much!!!
#Emi's Meandering Asks#absolutely effervescent anon. youve done it again. youve made my day#long post

Hey! I love your blog! Can I ask what you think of the Mortis arc? I have mixed feelings about it.
Hey, Anon! Glad you like my blog. At one point, I think I had a purpose for this blog but nowadays it’s just a mixed bag of hyperfixations, societal and feminist rage, and Aesthetic™.
I also have mixed feelings about Mortis. I actually really like the Mortis arc conceptually. Unfortunately, much of the execution I found lacking and clunky (I mean, as amazing as Clone Wars is, it is still a short-format cartoon aimed at young/family audiences, so what can you do). Overall I think Mortis is a rare and unique look into the mystic aspects of the Force and Anakin’s identity in particular. I always think of the Mortis arc in conjunction with Yoda’s arc in the Lost Missions where he meets the Whills (or are they “Priestesses”? I always think of them as the Whills...) because the two arcs deal with spiritual aspects of the Force in a way that we’ve never really been shown in the past.
I think the thing I love most about both arcs is that while nothing the mystic characters say about the Force is in direct contradiction to what the Jedi believe, there is still this quasi-condescending sense of “Oh, you thought you were the only ones? This is a lot bigger than your little Order.” Because the Jedi are the heroes of the audience, we don’t often get to see them put —rightly— in their place by their spiritual superiors. Both Mortis and the Whills arcs were refreshing in that way. Because I’m a sucker for Star Wars lore, these windows into a wider Force mysticism also offers a nice bridge to situate the Jedi alongside other groups like the Guardians of the Whills.
The Mortis arc in particular has a gravity to it because Anakin is involved. I think much of the symbolism of Mortis (Father, Brother, Sister) were all very good ideas, but very clunky and on-the-nose in the way they were designed/written. Again, this is partially to do with the format of the show. If I were writing the Mortis arc, I would try to tone down some of the symbolism and spend more time exploring the metaphysics and moral structure of what they represented. I would also revisit the designs of the Brother and Sister for considerable overhaul (I actually already know what I’d want them to look like... I didn’t realize I had so many thoughts on this arc but here we are).
Anakin had an interesting journey through the whole arc, but I also really love how they framed Obi-Wan in this arc as well. Though Anakin is always discussed as The Chosen One, I think it is right and proper to highlight Obi-Wan’s role as Anakin’s foil as well as the representative of the “light”.
I think Ahsoka was done kinda dirty in this arc, ngl. Like, I get it, plot wise. Ahsoka’s capture moves Anakin’s journey along, and the whole dilemma of Anakin and Obi-Wan having to fight their plucky young apprentice (yes you heard me I said “their” apprentice) creates plenty of drama. Still, I wish they’d found a better way to create the necessary pressure on Anakin. I think it would have been more interesting if Ahsoka had been an outside agent that tempted Anakin to just give up his destiny and the Jedi entirely. This would have furthered Anakin’s journey on Mortis while also lending to Ahsoka’s narrative, foreshadowing her eventual departure from the Order. Anakin’s temptation toward the dark I think should have come not from an external agent like Ahsoka, but form some internal place that was extremely selfish, more Anakin-centric.
Finally, I really appreciated how in both Mortis AND the Whills arc, Qui-Gon makes an appearance. As Anakin is the Chosen One and Obi-Wan is representative of Light, Qui-Gon is very much the representative of Jedi Mysticism, so of course he’d show up in the most mystic episodes. After having been dead for over a decade, I might add. Death will not stop Hippie Space Dad from lecturing his lineage on spiritualism.
All that said, I adore the concept of Mortis, but as far as execution, needs an overhaul.

RWBY Remarks: A Squiggle Meister’s Stance on the RWBY V6 Finale and RWBY as a whole.
Someone asked “Ngl squiggles I’m really disappointed with this finale. It seems to have split the fandom to its core. So many people are dropping it and while I’m tempted. It started off so well but derailed into v5 territory. What are your thoughts?”
explodingcarr0t asked “Got to say, I was quite disappointed with the finale. They had all this stuff set up and just, dropped it. “A giant grimm is coming towards a city with a horde of flying grimm and it breaks through the walls. Oh nevermind Ruby essentially one shots it and they leave.” With how much they hyped it up, the whole VRV thing saying, “It will change how you see RWBY.” and it being “huge” made this a let down. The volume started strong, but fell short after they got to Argus in more ways than one. ”
Someone asked “I have no words for that finale”
Squiggles Answers:
I know V6 ended last weekend and I’m sorry this response post came so late. I had a very busy week. But alas, here’s my answer:
To the two anon-ninjas and @explodingcarr0t who left their questions and opinions in my inbox:
I hear you guys and if I’m being completely honest, I don’t blame you or any other FNDM fam for their disappointment regarding last week’s finale episode. During my viewing of the last episode, one comment I kept making was that people were going to be pissed. I knew off the bat that fans were going to more than a little peeved by how V6 C13 played out. It’s not to say that the episode was bad though. On the contrary, personally, I enjoyed the last episode. It wasn’t bad. However…
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1345fe13feaf31d1d0060824eedc65fb/tumblr_inline_pmcx5h6HZS1qghro1_540.jpg)
Similar to its predecessor, V6 gave us another finale episode where not a lot happened. Since V1, the RWBY volume finales usually ended in a fight which pinned the forces of evil in an epic clash against the forces of good. A finale battle scene has usually been part of the climax for every volume and that’s been the rule of thumb since the first season by my recollection. However that stopped being the case after V5.
V6 C13 ultimately boiled down to a nostalgic slideshow of some of the most memorable moments in RWBY and a small conversation between the heroes to set up the next volume.
The main climax of C13 was Ruby using her Silver Eyes against the Leviathan and admittedly, it could’ve been handled better. Again, not saying it was a bad episode. I’m just saying that this didn’t feel like the finale the CRWBY wanted to tell by my impression. My biggest gripe with C13 wasn’t that it didn’t live up to the hype of the FNDM but because members of the CRWBY and their promotional people (like VRV) chocked this finale up to be something that was mistakenly advertised to be grander but in the end, did not pull through.
Biggest finale with the biggest ending? Not counting the set up left behind by the after credit scene, the V6 finale wasn’t really a flop (at least to me) but…it wasn’t what it was made out to be. This is the second finale we’ve received for the Mistral Arc where the characters don’t fight at all in the last episode even though the set up was for a big fight.
I’ve noticed a pattern now. Ever since V5, the CRWBY have shied away from having the characters fight for the finale episode. Back in V5 a lot of the fighting moments was spread out during the 2-3 episodes leading up to the finale. However by the time the last episode finally debuted, there was nothing much left for the climax. Any remaining fights that fans were anticipating to see were either glossed over or boiled down to the characters just standing around and mostly talking.
And sadly to say, this is pretty much what happened in V6 too in a way. It boiled down to Ruby saving the day with her powers, after which she and the others are left free to go. After everything that transpired with Cordo between C10 and 12, the heroes didn’t face any severe repercussions for their actions.
I mean, while I expected Cordo to turn the other cheek and grant the heroes permission to go to Atlas after they helped protect Argus, this was not how I expected them to prove themselves. We didn’t even get to see any of the other huntsmen fight to defend Argus against the horde of Manticore and Sphinx. That was left to the Atlesian Military who you can actually see having a bit of difficulty against the Manticores and Sphinx during the shot where the JNR_QROWMBY’s airship is flying by unnoticed courtesy of Ren’s masking semblance.

Speaking of the Manticores and Sphinx. Now this is more or less a little nit-pick I had while reviewing the episode but…how is it that we have this full blown horde of Grimm and not one of them went after any of the Argus citizens who were just standing out in the open, making themselves very easy targets?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/99d10380092095be6d3628f310643ecc/tumblr_inline_pmcxxmQhRJ1qghro1_540.jpg)

I thought the Grimm were drawn to negative emotions like fear. Surely the rising tension of the Argus citizens during Cordo’s mechazord rampage against the heroes must’ve been what attracted the Grimm in the first place, right? Yet none of the Sphinx and Manticores attacked any of the citizens of Argus who just stood there the entire time. Out in the open when any of the flying Grimm in the area can make easy lunch out of them. What?
That’s what I expected when I saw the Sphinx and Manticores again. That they were going to go immediately after the citizens, forcing our heroes to divide to try and protect as much of the people as possible.Yet not one Sphinx turned and made easy prey out of the very vulnerable people of Argus just standing there observing everything? Huh?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3c5e8c0ed9b21ff6c72e0dfb0845f39f/tumblr_inline_pmcy12upTD1qghro1_540.jpg)
I’m sorry. Maybe someone else can explain the logistics of that scene to me because going off of what I know about the Grimm from the RWBY lore, this scene made no sense. I guess you can argue that perhaps the Atlesian Military invented some sort of technology that mimics the same negative energy that attracts the Grimm and that’s what they deployed in order to draw the Manticores and Sphinx away from the citizens to the oceans.
I mean if it was canonically something like that then cool, I can buy into it. However we got no scene to establish any explanation as to why the airborne Grimm chose to focus primarily on the Military as opposed to immediately going after the citizens. Seriously that scene bothered me because it’s almost a complete contradiction of what transpired in the very first episode of V6.

In V6 C1, Qrow became furious with Dudley for using the turrets. Despite the fact that the turrets were being used to defend the Argus Limited, its efforts only served to lure the Grimm closer to the very distressed passengers on board the train.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/94ee97037a8d9515abab3bc0751f1974/tumblr_inline_pmcy8wJSsa1qghro1_540.jpg)

I guess you can argue that the Atlesian air force used their airship missiles to draw the Manticores and Sphinx out toward the waters. However…that still doesn’t explain why none of these Grimm went after the citizens. It’s not even to say there was a force field around Argus to prevent the Grimm from getting into the city. Sure we have the shield to stop the Leviathan but not the flying Grimm. The Sphinx and Manticores could have easily gone for any of the citizens who were all just standing there making themselves free targets for slaughter but…didn’t? Whaaaat?
I understand that the Grimm don’t necessarily need to feed on humans but…but…how did these Grimm not go after the exposed citizens. How?
Sorry for the small rant. I just found that moment to be kind of odd. And I’m sure this is not the only nit-pick I have from the finale. The truth is that this finale episode had its flaws. However I don’t want to focus on that too much. I want to focus on the good this finale served.
C13 may not have been the finale I was hoping for but at least it left off the story for certain characters that I liked. For starters, I like that even though we got Ruby grasping the mentality she needs to summon her power; she still has much MORE to learn about how to use her eyes. As highlighted by her failure to completely petrify the Leviathan, there is more to Ruby’s use of her eyes than just positive memories.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9bb65c3630aadef597df6b21d2756cfd/tumblr_inline_pmcyi6BIF11qghro1_540.jpg)
As we saw during Maria’s fight with the Nevermore in C7, the Silver Eyes are supposed to kill a Grimm immediately after petrification. But in the case of Ruby’s turn against the Leviathan, it didn’t work.

I’d like to think that the effects of the Silver Eyes are based on the…I guess I’ll call it…age of the Grimm. As in how long the targeted Grimm has survived on Remnant. I’d like to believe that the reason why Ruby was able to easily vaporize the Apathy versus the Leviathan was because…perhaps the Leviathan has survived longer than the Apathy. I’d like to think this massive Grimm has been dormant in the oceans of Argus for years and only resurfaced recently due to the uproar in the city. So perhaps the Silver Eyes only petrify Grimm that are older while younger Grimm get taken out instantly. That’s just my understanding of it.

Either way, C13 showed that Ruby still has much to learn and understand about the silver eyes. Thankfully, C13 left Ruby not completely mastering her powers and I’m very satisfied with that ending. It means that V6 is only the first chapter in Ruby’s arc to becoming a full-fledged Silver Eyed Warrior and I’m very interested to see where this goes from here.
Since happy memories wasn’t enough to fully kill the Leviathan, what else is Ruby missing from her mind-set? This is a question I want answered and I hope we get to see it explored for V7.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/63f65410be0bf82f823d063b72c58d61/tumblr_inline_pmcyxggUPK1qghro1_540.jpg)
Apart from Ruby’s arc, I’m very pleased with where the CRWBY Writers left things for Oscar’s side of the story. As a Pinehead, even though I was disappointed to not see Oscar actually fight for this finale, I am satisfied where they concluded his story especially concerning Ozpin. I already talked about how much I wanted the Ozpin Isolation and Forgiveness Arc to be pushed forward to the Atlas Arc and so said so done, we got it.
YES! I’m excited by this because it gives me the golden opportunity to potentially see that Oscar’s Choice potential subplot come to fruition. This development can spell Ironwood potentially approaching Oscar with the choice of separating him from Ozpin using Atlas technology with their aura experiments as foreshadowed since V3. We all know Oscar’s reservations about the Merge. Although he has accepted his fate, a part of me still calls mega ultra bullshit on Oscar being okay with everything.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b53a0e95d133c12c8e58ff742bf27e8a/tumblr_inline_pmcz2yxE991qghro1_540.jpg)
Right now, Oscar is acting just as nonchalant about his fate as Ruby was about her emotions during the dojo scene.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/037a53ad5aea1c06f4126a5783168b34/tumblr_inline_pmcz4nFqEb1qghro1_540.jpg)
V5 had Oscar calling Ruby out on her bottled up feelings over everything that’s happened to her since V3. I would love it if we got a parallel to the dojo scene where this time; Ruby is the one to call Oscar out on his indifference to just accepting the Merge.
The same way how we got Oscar bluntly asking Ruby how she was okay with all the trauma she suffered over the seasons, I want Ruby to pull up Oscar and ask him the same question. How is he okay with basically handing his life over to someone else? Especially a person who is now mistrusted by the entire hero team?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2775563e7103f05462a5fcd0d0178835/tumblr_inline_pmczaxlnMR1qghro1_540.jpg)

With Oscar still very much in control and with the heroes still having reservations about Ozpin, everything is starting to fall into place for an Oscar-worthy character arc. I like that Ozpin was still compassionate enough to help Oscar out when he needed it. I actually found it rather sweet that Oscar being in immediate danger was what brought Ozpin out of his isolation. Sure it was only for a few minutes enough for him to guide the boy but, he did come out. I also loved how Ozpin spoke to Oscar in that short moment.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/582f72bda82c70782604b248af3b6107/tumblr_inline_pmczy8oT4Z1qghro1_540.jpg)
“…Stay calm. It’s going to be okay.”
Ozpin sounded so fatherly to Oscar in that scene. I think this is the most caring we’ve heard Ozpin speak to Oscar since V4 and during all those moments where Ozpin felt truly remorseful of forcing Oscar into this predicament. Aah Oz. Even though I’m not ready to see you come back, I do miss you and Shannon’s amazing voice work as Ozpin’s voice in Oscar’s head.
Anyways, Ozpin only returning when Oscar is in perilous danger and is in dire need of help. Hmm…I smell a foreshadowing. Especially after the after credit scene.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d5d7abb24e32a542486c8c5a04d449ae/tumblr_inline_pmczzwsL2r1qghro1_540.jpg)
Another thing I can see possible is Oscar and Ozpin reconciling and Ozpin returning through Oscar’s encouragement. But even though the two souls have reunited, things are still sour between Oz and the team and that will make things great in terms of Oscar’s part in this and his development as a character.
Imagine Oscar forming his own separate ties with Ozpin (as his other half) and the members of the JNR_QROWMBY. However Oscar still feels divided and completely uneased due the group’s resilient mistrust of Ozpin. Including Ruby.
Picture Oscar becoming so fearful of the Merge that he starts to suffer with nightmares of eventually disappearing. Picture Oscar suffering from nightmares that are actually memories of the past Wizards of Light, particularly Diggs (Ozma 2.0) who got burned to death by Salem and Ozpin who died in a similar fashion at the hands of Cinder.
Imagine Oscar dreaming these events as if they were his own memories---reliving them as if he were there as a sign that the Merge was starting to happen. There are so many ways the CRWBY Writers can take Oscar’s story from V6 and as I’ll state again, I’m intrigued to see where this all goes from here for my favourite farm boy.

The Storytelling of RWBY
If I had to give the Writers one word of advice as a member of the FNDM and someone who is going to continue to watch the show: Don’t bite off more than you can chew for the season finale. Pick one or at least two solid ideas as the basis for your finale. Spend the volume alluding to that one idea; slowly building up to it and let that one premise be the focus of the final chapter and the episodes leading up to it. .
What do I mean by this? As I’ve mentioned before, I did my own recap of RWBY during which I noticed a pattern the CRWBY Writers have adopted with structuring their finale episodes within the past and recent volumes.
Even if the CRWBY spent the majority of the season handling other subplots left behind from previous seasons, when it comes to finale they usually spend the last 2-4 episodes of the season building up to the main premise set for the season finale before giving us the big climax which; in the past, usually resulted in one big epic final fight to close of the volume.
For V1, the main premise of the finale episode was Blake being revealed as a Faunus and her past involvement with the White Fang which led to a confrontation between her and Roman Torchwick. Torchwick was leading the White Fang in an orchestrated theft at the docks which Blake learnt about during a stakeout with Sun. RWBY V1 had 16 episodes. Although Blake’s involvement with the White Fang was only brought in during C15, it became the focal point that drove the finale. Blake and the White Fang was foundation of the V1 finale episodes. One theme. Keep that in mind.
For V2, the conflict was Team RWBY again thwarting another orchestrated plan by Torchwick and the White Fang. The plan resulted in a runaway train blasting a path from Mountain Glenn to central Vale which brought an army of Grimm toward the city. The finale was Team RWBY and JNPR helping to defend Vale along with the epic arrival of Team CVFY.
RWBY V2 had only 12 episodes. Torchwick’s scheme was something that was alluded to all season but we didn’t get to see the plan be fleshed out until C8. Torchwick’s scheme to use explosives to destroy the underground caves in Mountain Glen leaving an open path for the Grimm to enter the seat was something alluded to whole season but didn’t see it fully come to truth until C8, leaving the last four episodes of V2 as the build up to the big final fight and Torchwick’s arrest. Torchwick’s scheme was the foundation of the V2 finale episodes. One theme. Keep that in mind.
For V3, the finale for the Fall of Beacon. While we had have several plot threats scattered through the finale such as: the huntsmen defending Beacon Academy against the corrupted Atlesian Paladins and robot soldiers, the Spring Maiden, Cinder vs Ozpin, Pyrhha versus Cinder, Pyrhha’s death, Ruby’s reveal as a Silver Eyed Warrior---these were all plot elements that were slowly alluded to and built up within the past two seasons so when you see them executed finally in V3, you feel satisfied.
Though RWBY V3 only had 12 episodes, the season was the one time where the foundation of the finale episode had more than one theme but it worked since it was the work of three seasons coming together to give us the most memorable finale episode in RWBY. The best conclusion to an arc trilogy.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/67e397854f9428102b31c60f55077276/tumblr_inline_pmd4i9Tgn51qghro1_540.jpg)
Now let’s fast forward to the Mistral Arc. For V4, the finale was RNJR versus the Nuckelavee Grimm before finally making it to Mistral. RWBY V4 gave us 12 episodes. While V4 didn’t exactly sit well with the FNDM, at least its season finale kept the ole epic final fight routine especially since Ren facing his past and RNJR’s arrival in Mistral had been a focus of the season for their side of the story.
To me, the finale structure started to go south from V5. As of V5, I feel as if the Writers developed this habit of cramming all the good stuff in the episodes leading up to the climax while leaving the actual final episode of the season with a whole lot of nothing much to do. I have no idea how the production pipeline for RWBY works. However a thing I’ve noticed with the final episodes for V5 and V6 is that they both feel rather flat and boring compared to the episodes leading up to it.
I’d like to think the CRWBY is supposed to end their seasons with a bang but the past two finales have been underwhelming at best. Although V6 did handle its better than V5.
An improvement but still the same problem. V6 made me wish they didn’t introduce the Leviathan at all. If the Leviathan Grimm was truly meant to be the big bad of the ending then instead of giving us that whole Cordovin vs JNR_QROWM fight that stretched for three episodes, they should have brought that thing in as early as C10. Otherwise don’t bring it in at all. It’s annoying how underused the Leviathan Grimm was. We finally got a Kaiju-sized Grimm reminiscent of Godzilla and this thing was only brought in at the last minute just so that Ruby can show off her powers in admittedly, the most half-assed of ways. I know some fans really loved the moment where Ruby used her powers but...while I’ll admit it was very touching to see the heartfelt memories Ruby holds dearest in her heart especially the one of her beloved mother, it could have been done so much better.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1b0a9d4845dfc0e1993b7ba8f9982436/tumblr_inline_pmd5hxe3mT1qghro1_540.jpg)
Up until this point, Ruby hasn’t had much focus on her eyes since C8. I did not expect Ruby to master her Silver Eyes. I did not expect her plan to go all in on the Leviathan to work and if anything, C13 made Ruby seem very reckless in my opinion. There are moments in that finale where Ruby could have gotten herself and her teammates killed. But of course, the plot has ways to write around these obvious flaws. One being the use of Jinn.
While I’ll admit that was clever on Ruby’s part,…this could have been done better. That’s all I can say. Thing could’ve been better.
To me, the CRWBY Writers have always done better when they just picked one or two ideas and focus on that. The only time the multiple ideas worked was during V3. But even then, V3 is a special case since the plot threads that went down for its final episode were a culmination of a story three seasons in the making. You see where I’m going with this, right?
Keeping things small at first and save the bigger things for later in the trilogy after spending at least two volumes building up to it. The reason why I will always praise the Beacon Trilogy is because everything was developed nicely from the start. While V1 and V2 had their own finale subplots, both subplots contributed to the events that took place in the finale of V3.
Everything that went down in V3 was a perfectly executed trail of events that commenced as early as the first season. This is what the CRWBY Writers are missing from their storytelling. That structure. I’m happy that the animation and visual look of RWBY has improved and continues to get better and better as the series progresses. That’s phenomenal and major kudos to the CRWBY for their growth and hard work over the seasons.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/06eae20738aad0cd9b367ba2dfe16d92/tumblr_inline_pmd5k7qDBN1qghro1_540.jpg)
All the Writers need to do right now is bring back that strong structure they had back when the story was in Vale. If I had to assume one thing about the writing process for the RWBY volumes right now, it’s that it seems as if Miles and Kerry are writing everything volume by volume and then trying to figure out how it all ties together at like the very end of last few episodes in the final chapter of the final season in the trilogy. Now; this is just my assumption and I could be very wrong about this. However, as an audience member, that’s the impression I get when I compare the Beacon Trilogy to the now completed Mistral Trilogy.
I don’t want anyone thinking that the only reason I praise the Beacon Trilogy is because it’s the seasons where Monty was still involved in the project. No that’s not it. I judge RWBY based on what I see and how much I can interpret from what I see.
I don’t like the Beacon story over Mistral because Monty played a part in its development. The Beacon Trilogy is great to me because it felt like a trilogy. It was a cohesive trilogy where every volume was just a piece to the much bigger picture that took place in V3.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/059416f9c8beae1bcc154f5e2721b1b5/tumblr_inline_pmd5lvaaWz1qghro1_540.jpg)
When I look at the Mistral Trilogy, other than the setting being Mistral and Anima, this trilogy was disjointed. I’ve said this before in a past response post; the Writers started off decently in V4 but ran themselves into a wall in V5. A wall they did their gosh-darn best to overcome in V6.
Though I would praise V5 as a not-so bad season on its own, as a continuation from V4 and a prequel to V6, V5 did not do so well. As a matter of fact, V5 created more problems than the Writers benched for.
It’s why I’m going easy on V6 because, from the get-go, V6 was meant to be damage control. We know this. The Writers messed up in V5 and V6 had a lot of pressure on its neck since the FNDM community was looking at it to be the CRWBY’s return to form. The one to repair the proclaimed ‘mess’ left behind by V5
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/613416882dd7d5a8510f27e9b8fc850f/tumblr_inline_pmd5pnZeng1qghro1_540.jpg)
V6 was basically the CRWBY’s way of trying to salvage dinner from a meal that was already burnt.
People were looking at V6 to be the perfect plot lasagne that would fix the whole Mistral Trilogy. As good of a season V6 was, it didn’t fix the mistakes of the Mistral Arc. You can’t get lasagne from one season. A perfect plot lasagne is something that comes in layers. It’s something that has to be built from the ground up. A succulent course that takes at least three seasons worth of proper planning, great story structure and development to prepare. Not something that you can just throw together in one season and expect it to work.
Basically the point I’m trying to make here is…I went into V6 expecting it to salvage the Mistral Arc, not save it entirely. On its own, V6 was a great season. A massive improvement from V5 and a step in the right direction with the CRWBY renewing my believability in that the team hasn’t lost its edge as yet. The animation, particularly in the fight scenes worked wonders this season. For me, the only thing that still needs work is in the organization in the storytelling. While the writing for V6 was Miles and Kerry’s best for the Mistral Trilogy, in the end, it unfortunately still suffered from the same issues fans have complained about in past seasons. Particularly in the second half of the season.
This is the second volume where the complaint has been that the story started to go downhill after the second half of the season. I more felt like the second half of V6 was not the story the Writers wanted to tell. To me, things began to go awry from C9 and ya’ll know how I felt about that episode after C8.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/783eac43b0ec95f0fbc2e37452353918/tumblr_inline_pmd5txGhR91qghro1_540.jpg)
You cannot tell me that the Writers deliberately planned for Oscar to go missing just to have him miraculously show back up in the very next episode as if the events of C8 never happened.
A part of me would like to hold out for the belief that the Writers had planned more for Oscar’s story this season that was supposed to commence in the second half of the season but it had to be cut and probably pushed for a later season due to time constraints and deadlines.
I would not be surprised if there was supposed to be an entire subplot for V6 dedicated to Oscar. Since V6 was originally meant to have 14 episodes instead of 13, I’m going to stand by the belief that there was originally meant to be an entire episode focused on Oscar following C8.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7d04909edf9902484e809878ec01ad9d/tumblr_inline_pmd5xbuM0i1qghro1_540.jpg)
C9 felt so misplaced especially coming off of the ending of C8. I would not be surprised if C9 was initially meant to be an Oscar-centric episode which explained the events of what happened to him before we got his return back at the Cotta-Arc episode.
As sad as it would sound for me to imply that of the Writers cut out Oscar’s development episode, that’s the only thing that makes sense to me. Oscar was going to have his own full focus episode that touched on his past like Ozpin did in C3 but the CRWBY scrapped it for this season. But y’know, this is only my interpretation. Feel free to respectfully disagree with me if you will.
Anyways, whileV6 still suffered the same shortcomings that V5 in its final episode, it wasn’t enough to influence me to drop the show. For what it’s worth, I’m still a loyal passenger of the RWBY hype train. It’s sad to hear about people dropping the show especially after the CRWBY put out some of their best work this season.
But y’know, to each their own. I can tell the disappointed fans to stay on this train as much as I want but at the end of the day, it’s people’s choice whether they wish to stay in the FNDM or not. If dissatisfied fans wish to leave then it’s their choice. The only thing left to be done about that is to respect it. My only hope is that those same fans don’t become the type to dedicate their time to completely bashing the series while scolding the CRWBY’s attempts at continuing RWBY.
To summarize my thoughts: while there are things I didn’t enjoy about theV6 finale or the season overall, it wasn’t enough to deter my overall enjoyment of the volume or my loyalty as a fan of RWBY. I can’t speak for other fans. I can only speak for myself and this squiggle meister is still on this train.
I still love RWBY and what’s keeping me here is the devotion I have to seeing my favourite characters’ stories continued going forward for the full narrative (*ahem* Oscar’s arc). Moreover I’ve been a fan of RWBY since Day 1, Season 1 and although the series has suffered a few bumps along the way, like Maria Calavera after the Argus train crash, I’m still on this train.
Then there is the part of me that wants to keep believing in the CRWBY. Believing in the CRWBY Writers. While I may not always like what Miles and Kerry put out in the canon (*ahem* Oscar’s missing focus episode from V6), I still have major respect for these two fine gentlemen and the hardworking team of artists who are keeping this story going. Despite everything, these creative minds still have a story to tell and I frankly want to see them finish it.
I am invested in seeing the CRWBY finish RWBY regardless of what they have in store. RWBY has changed as a series since it first started. V4 was basically a renaissance period for the series. The series evolved after V3. Some of it good. Some of it not-so good and what I’m seeing now is a series with a story still left to be told. So it will keep doing its best to tell said story until the final episode of RWBY is made.
RWBY is not a flawless show. It has never been a flawless show and it will never be a flawless show. As a matter of fact, RWBY’s ability to thrive despite its noticeable flaws is what I appreciate about it. Even when the Writers take the story in ways that I might not like as a fan and audience member, they still manage to do the thing a good story is supposed to do. Keep me entertained and invested in the characters and story they’re portraying.

Sure V6 C13 might not have been the best episode of V6 or the best finale in all of RWBY but it did fulfil its purpose. It got me interested in V7. I want to know what happens next for RWBY and until there is a season where I stop caring about what’s to come, I shall remain a fan.
I don’t know about any other fans but that’s this squiggle meister’s mantra.

still catching up on your essays and i'm so glad to see someone who adores alma as much as i do. she's one of the highlights of the series for me for sure. alma!centric episode please! :D i'm also dying to learn more about rita. especially since imo her attitude towards june changes constantly and i can't always figure out why. and i feel like her resentment of eden is caused by eden reminding rita of smth or someone from her past and it's too painful for her and so that's how she deals w/ that
also, how much do you think they're going to milk serena regretting giving the baby to june? and one last thing, you know what flashback i am totally expecting to see at one point, june and serena in that brunch place pre-gilead.
i just really enjoy seeing someone like you getting into the depth of these characters, especially serena, it's so rare to see someone elaborate on her behavior and not just scream SERENA IS A BITCH SHE CAN GO DIE and keep walking. and i think nothing this fandom says drives me crazy more than people being happy about serena being beaten and mauled because "it's what she deserves".
yeah, sure, she deserves punishment, but she was not punished for the crimes she had actually commited and also those were the completely wrong people to do the punishing???? like????

Hello anon! (I’ve lost track, and I’m not sure if you’re the same as other anons, or a new one! If so, welcome, #4 :)) (I think these are all from you??? Feel free to correct me if they’re not!)
YAY FOR ALMA LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t know what it is about her, I just really like her style. (Obvs not fashion style but you know what I mean.) She’s got a no-nonsense way about her that I enjoy. I mean, Lillie had that too in a way but Alma is just so level-headed. She could have been super-pissed off at June and held it against her, and that wouldn’t be unreasonable, but she didn’t. She accepted that it’s not June’s fault that Gilead exists or the Aunts burned her hand to make June suffer. Like, that is some A+ person. She doesn’t take people’s shit, but she also doesn’t hold shit against people she knows can’t help it.
Even if it was only part of an episode, I’d be happy learning way more about her in some way. Fingers crossed they don’t kill her off as well.
And yes Rita. A fan favourite it seems. A fan favourite who needs more screentime. I think we can all agree on that! I would really like to understand Rita’s reactions to things better and I think we can only get that if they explore her character more. Like, we can guess at why she behaves as such to June or Eden, but we never really get much about her. But as Anon #1 was saying, her sarcasm and just way of being is so interesting and enjoyable to watch.
I wondered about that. Cos clearly Serena’s gonna have some buyer’s remorse (or giver’s remorse, more like), and especially if she sees June just strolling back sans baby. (Ngl, I would flip my shit too.) I feel like it’s deffo gonna be a thing but I can’t tell how long they’ll milk it for. Or exactly how Serena will react. (I just hope that she is not aggressive/violent about it. I’ve had it up to here with that.)
Thank you for messaging me! I’m just so stoked that there is this pocket of people who can talk rationally about grey or villainous characters without just resorting to tantrums and vengeance. It gives me a little hope for tumblr lol. Generally I just stopped looking in THT tags here cos of all the stuff I was sick of reading, esp wrt Serena.
“she was not punished for the crimes she had actually commited and also those were the completely wrong people to do the punishing“ ALSO YES. THANK YOU. That’s exactly my point. Like, that is a HUGE issue. How is that justice at all? Getting beaten by your husband for saving a baby’s life? Getting maimed for reading the Bible? That is not deserved on any level. It’s like, just endorsing Gilead if you say Serena deserved it. Like, that is LITERALLY what Fred said. If you think she got what she deserved, then you’re essentially agreeing with Fred’s actions. And these fans are parroting it and no even recognising how wrong that is to be agreeing with Fred Waterford and the SOJ. But I’m preaching to the choir here, lol.

Just to say, in response to your prev anon and reply, i think Fitz's snide line about 'basic math' was the thing that prompted Daisy to really lash out at him. They were obviously both worried and stressed about Coulson and took it out on each other which is in line with their personalities. I think i was more taken aback with Fitz easily nominating Piper to sacrifice her life. I know she betrayed them but Fitz has never been that person.
Yeah I agree. I was talking mostly in the context of it as a Framework reference moreso than her legitimacy in saying it or what have you. She was definitely attacking the fact that he was reducing lives to math, which even though it was moral math it still seems cold, especially when emotions are running high between two very passionate people!
and that type of thing was quite unlike Fitz to do imo, he’s historically been MUCH more of an “every life counts” rather than a utilitarian (least losses is best) type of person! In fact it was a plot point that this was a point of difference between him and Jemma in S3, if nothing else.
Also, him volunteering Piper really jarred me too tbh, I didn’t like it either. Again, it was not particularly malicious and was clearly out of his desperation to save Coulson as he was firing off a bunch of options but something felt off to me because all those options were… other people. I was expecting Fitz to offer himself ngl, or if not that, at least prioritise trying harder to find a way of doing it without somebody having to risk themselves at all - even if it was doomed to fail and Coulson was going to end up going down there anyway.
In both cases I think it has to do with the flash-bang nature of much of the episode. It was like A LOT OF DRAMATIC THINGS ARE HAPPENING so there was a lot of suspension of disbelief going on, for me at least, about the stakes (’I can’t tell you how or why but trust me we need to do this thing this particular way, there’s no other way because I said so, even though it means SOMEONE WILL ALMOST DEFINITELY DIE *GASP*’) and stuff like that. Fitz being the one attempting to explain everything (most of which lbr didn’t make a lot of sense) meant that he had to be in the middle of a lot of the conflicts, even if getting him there was a little contrived.
I mean it could be feeding into how the Framework has affected him, changing his instinct toward self preservation and toward what is generally considered to be a colder form of morality, and that Daisy comparing that type of morality to Hydra could be highlighting that... but on the other hand, it could also be that whoever was writing this ep has a very different idea of who Fitz is and what he would do, and/or what was needed for the episode to fuel conflict. I’m not sure who it was and I’m not familiar with their writing patterns/habits/preferences anyway, but I’m leaning toward this one as overall their mentions of the FW seem quite spotty at the moment. I mean who knows, maybe we are supposed to be noticing these things? I’ll keep an eye on it. But at the moment I’m pretty sure it was more an issue of conflict-fodder than anything else.
