Emilio’s signature spell/unique magic:

“This is True”

Allows him to truthfully answer almost any question asked of him about the person asking. He functions as something of an oracle.

While it grants Emilio a level of all-knowingness, it is limited in scope with many stipulations.

• “This is True” can only provide answers that relate to the person asking, not about anyone else nor matters outside of the person asking. So, he isn’t exactly useful in terms of trying to get dirt on others via his magic. He cannot do that. And he can’t ask the questions.

• There must be physical contact with him and the person asking the question. Palm-to-palm is his go-to, but it doesn’t seem to matter.

• Emilio‘s magic will not allow him to hide the truth once he has received a proper answer to a question, whether he or the receiver likes the answer or not.

• A person can as ask as many questions about their past and present as they like (within reason, obviously not in a single round). It will always be true. He can tell you things about yourself that you may have forgotten about like a memory, or where you left your keys. Whatever one can think of so long as it’s about themselves.

• A person may ask about their future, but they only can ask one question and receive one answer. Once someone ask a question about their future in any capacity they cannot ask Emilio any question about their future ever again. Period. So don’t waste it, or don’t ask. The future is far too uncertain, but his answer will always be a true one out of many possibilities, if vague. Besides, he doesn’t like doing it!!

It is currently unknown how much his magic will evolve, if at all. The limited scope makes his magic accumulate little blot, though it can accumulate much faster if it’s about the future. Yay for caps.

Note: The spell name is Esteban’s catchphrase. Emilio’s magic inspiration is primarily derived from Esteban’s habit of warning people and predicting events that nobody around him heeds, and usually being right. In Elena of Avalor, that kinda sets off his weird betrayal flip-flopping villain arc he never commits to. Emilio’s magic also doubles as a reference to the Oracle in Aladdin and The King of Thieves which I only realized after the fact. Neat.

hibiscia!!! Sorry if youve explained before but is there something specific about reset-remember fics that you hate? I don't really like them either but for me it's just because I feel like a lot of authors type sans in very ooc ways

They're completely antithetical to Sans' character arc for the sake of cheap and easy angst. The nature of his brand of cosmic horror isn't in reliving his life again and again, that's Flowey's. Sans knows OF the anomaly, knows that it's manipulating time and knows it's a threat to the entire universe, but he doesn't know how or why, because he doesn't remember.

And that's crucial! him being mostly in the dark in spite of the MANY warning signs about us... because it's in that doubt that he remains hopeful. YES we could potentially end the world... but what if we don't? yes we have unimaginable power over everyone else and we can bring back time, but what if we're just.... sad? he needs that gap in his knowledge so he can take a leap of faith across it, it's his entire character arc in the pacifist run. sans THINKS he's given up, he wants to have given up, he chose to do it because there's a comfort in that. in contenting yourself with good food and bad laughs. there's peace. but he hasn't given up, not really. on himself? maybe. but not in us.

there's no way to have that arc if he remembers resets.

So, I've been thinking for quite a long time about what kind of ijag fanart to draw, but couldn’t come up with any good ideas. And then it hit me. It seems that @voidchillz once mentioned that it would be cool to have IJAG! Sans and Anomaly sing “Take on me” by A-ha. Well, your requests have been heard! I thought, why not, besides, this song has been one of my favorites for a long time already. I know that this thing is far from perfect as I’m just a novice in art, but I still tried my best!

(In general, I thought that this clip not only fits Sansnomaly, but basically shows how we get attached to the characters. In the beginning, we plunge headlong into a fictional world, sometimes thanks to just one character. Then, when the plot ends, the fictional character moves into our world, living in our heart. And no one can take them away from us anymore.)

Question, are there any humans left on Copper-9, specifically an intern that I’m rather emotionally attached to for some reason even though he’s got basically no screen time, and what is their opinions on Drones and vice versa. Keep in mind the book shown in the foreground of Ep. 8 and the questions it raises regarding humans thoughts on Drones (https://www.tumblr.com/sillylittleguy-dot-gif/759684173377273856/transcript-for-this-book-in-murder-drones-episode)

Assuming this ask is about my Crawling Chaos AU that I've been expositing and doing art about, I'm honestly kind of torn on how I want to handle that - on the one hand, Mitchell was literally just a squishy meat human at ground zero for a planet-shattering gravitic/eldritch calamity explosion that I'm convinced Nori and Yeva only survived because worker drones can canonically make unshielded drops from high orbit without a scratch.

On the other hand, I think it would be really, really funny if he made it somehow. Maybe there was, iunno, some kind of panic room in the mines for surviving nuclear blasts, kinetic bombardments, or other planet-wrecking phenomena? Equally crazy things have happened, and the Murder Drones universe is at least half powered by awesome. Idk, I'll have to mull that over.

As for the other half of the question: hooo boi, I have thoughts. In the (totally purely and very definitely hypothetical) event that there are surviving humans on Copper 9 or anywhere else in the universe wait who said that?, I think peoples thoughts on worker drones would probably be pretty mixed.

Some people would see WDs as fellow sapients deserving of rights and autonomy and respect. Just based on the book you mentioned, there was clearly some in-universe recognition going on that "yeah, we created a whole-ass new form of sapient life, and it's a little messed up that we're treating them like this." To me, it looks like that was created in response to employee complaints and possibly even employee direct action - you don't make something like that unless you need to convince people it's okay to think that way. It's propaganda 101. Now whether or not that convinced any JcJenson employees, or got them to shut up and tow the company line, or just made them more pissed at the company, is purely speculative.

Others would outright see WDs as subhuman objects; hollow, empty things with only cheap simulacra of "real human emotion" designed to follow orders and assist humans, not have inner lives. At best, these people would see drones as tools - powerful, adaptive tools certainly, worthy of the same respect and care you'd give any other useful and potentially dangerous tool, but tools all the same.

I think there'd probably be a pretty stark class divide in play too. People at the bottom - the ones who directly work with drones on the regular - would be more likely to see them as people and empathize with them, while people at the top - corporate executives, politicians, herditarily wealthy failchildren, etc. - would absolutely look at worker drones the same way they look at their human underlings: faceless, impersonal masses of numbers to be counted and sorted and managed and shifted about in order to maximize profit and personal gain, or possibly trinkets to display their egregious wealth ("Ooh, look at me and all these adorable little machines I've purchased to serve me and keep my magnificent Victorian-recreation manor perfectly tidy and spotless at all times!").

Some people at every level might come around to the "worker drones are fully-actualized sapient beings" thing if they weren't already there. Others wouldn't.

On the worker drone side of things, even before you take the everything that was the Cabin Fever project into account, the drones were actively being "exploited in the name of Windex," so there's definitely going to be a lot of leftover resentment and trauma there, and probably a healthy amount of paranoia as well. At the same time I can't imagine that the treatment of worker drones was universally horrible - again, you don't create a pamphlet called "A How-To Guide of Overcoming the Existential Dread Evoked by Murdering Innocent Sentient Robots Capable of Emotion and Independent Thought" in the first place unless you want your employees to get back to work and stop complaining (probably very loudly) about how they're being forced to abuse and/or murder the obviously sentient robots capable of emotion and independent thought, and at least some of the worker drones had to have seen/heard about humans coming to their defense somehow.

So while I do think the average worker drone would be justifiably suspicious and mistrustful of a human, I also think that, unless the human(s) in question were being openly condescending, bigoted wankers about it, the drones wouldn't go to irreconcilable hostility right from the jump. They might even be able to work with humans, especially if they have a common goal or enemy like the Solver (see: Uzi "kill all humans" Doorman being willing to work, grudgingly, with what she thought was Tessa). Once that foot is in that door, it opens things up for experiences to shift perceptions and move humans and drones opinions of/relations with each other in a more positive direction. Possibly resulting in a bunch of corporate executives dying badly.

Wow, okay, that got way longer and more rambly (and way more real) than I meant it to and if I keep re-reading it I'm going to be here all day, so tl;dr: the spectrum from "local girl saves drones from scrap heaps and gives them robot medical care" to "twit idiot billionaires casually abuse and carelessly murder obviously sentient beings" is vast and humanity is scattered all across it. Likewise, the spectrum from "are we sure killing all humans is, y'know, "morality"?" to "just kill them, they won't even bother to talk to us" is equally vast, and the potential for interaction and growth there is absolutely fascinating to me and definitely something I'm thinking of exploring to some degree, if I can find a way to work it into the story.

So yeah I guess there are probably going to be surviving humans somewhere out there. Since it'd be hard to write human/robot interactions without any humans.

Still haven't decided if Mitchell the intern is going to be one of them though.

Hola Mr pines, what are your favourite findings in gravity falls? :3

Hello there! Due to my many years of research I would have to say this is a hard question to answer. However, after some pondering I would have to say the alien spacecraft I discovered not long after moving to Gravity Falls would have to be my favorite discovery.

Raiding it for many years with Fiddleford has taught us many valuable things as well as helped us develop many theories on how it may have affected Gravity Falls.

I still haven’t been able to find enough evidence however on if the spacecraft is responsible for the presence of all the anomalies in Gravity Falls or if the anomalies are what drew the spacecraft to them instead.

Dipper and I have been working on trying to figure out the connection between the two and I believe we are slowly making some progress. But yes, in short, the spacecraft is my favorite discovery due to how fascinating it is.
