Her eyes shone with a golden hue and her lips creased upwards into a smirk as she stepped closer to him. Sauron was not scared and she knew that although her fair form had now been rendered pointless, it would be enough for him to recall all of their beloved memories together. “Come, now Celebrimbor.” that alluring voice of hers spoke with a purr. “Surely, not all our times were all that bad.” she stated.

“Have I not shared with you all the knowledge you craved for, even begged me for? Have I not be kind to you thus far?” Annatariel asked with an air of innocence. “I would hate to think you would wish to ruin such a friendship.” Her eyes flickered with an honesty that the smith had longed for. In all these lies she had told him, that was not one of them. Her voice was softer in tone, more sincere.

“Tell me what I wish to know.” she said plainly. “Where are the three that have been hidden from my sight?” she asked feeling no need to keep him in suspense for the reason of her appearance here. “Tell me where they are and I shall be merciful to the rest of your kin and your family may yet survive this traumatic ordeal.” she explained revelling in the fear that Celebrimbor held as she held the hammer at her side that she had offered him so long ago. A small sneer had also appeared as she gathered that he would not relent as easily and her eyes brightened as the flames behind them now became evident.

          “I do not beg.”

The refusal comes as naught more than a hiss as he moves his gaze from her, unable to look upon that accursed form of hers -- one that he had once looked upon with warmth and welcomed into his home with open arms. He had been so foolish, so naive... 

No more. 

         “Do not tempt me with the illusion of choice. You know NOTHING of mercy.” 

He is not foolish enough to believe that her promises hold any truth to them -- that his confession should somehow undo the doom of those he loves. There is no true choice to be made here, and he hates himself for it in spite of his helplessness -- for binding them to a most painful and bitter end, even if he is robbed of all choice.

It is not what they deserve.

In his disgust, Celebrimbor spits upon the ground on which she stands -- and whilst he does not yet show it, he is truly and deeply saddened by the fate which has befallen his realm, the city which he has grown to love and cherish under his Lordship. He is meant to be their protector, but he has doomed them all with his prideful ways, his utter failure to see Annatariel for what she was in spite of the warnings.

Sauron will march upon his allies yet once more, and he can only hope that word of this will reach them before SHE does -- that they are much more prepared than his people had been. 

Valiantly had they fought, and never once did Celebrimbor conspire to abandon his people when all hope was lost... But he cannot protect them now. The Lord cannot save these survivors at the cost of those trusted few, to whom he has entrusted his greatest works.

       “You have no right to the Three. Never shall I reveal their whereabouts,         not even under pain of death itself.” 

Even if the world shall come to think him a traitor to his people, he shall take some small satisfaction in this last act of rebellion against the Dark Lord. He smirks, in spite of his broken heart, and actually laughs -- for at the very least he has foiled Sauron in some way, offering up one last ‘fuck you’ from the House of Fëanor before his life is extinguished.

There is no doubt in his mind that they would all be proud of him.

His voice stings with the lingering remnants of betrayal; a wound made fresh once more by her words, threatening to fester and eat away at his soul.

Celebrimbor remembers hearing those words last; how fondly he had looked upon Annatariel, how he had so easily lent his trust, thirsting for the knowledge she had offered and the prosperous friendship that came with it. 

How foolish.

He had doomed them all -- the people of this realm, the pupils who studied under him -- and now he must pay for it in the blood of those around him. In his own blood.

Celebrimbor is ready to face his end -- and he does so with a burning fury that cannot be extinguished, every bit as fiercely defiant as those who came before him.

          “Hide under that fair form all you want; you shall not reach            me with these cruel games!”

I am obviously partial to Martanis if we're going with a portmanteau but here are some others:

More combinations of Sauron + Galadriel:

Sauradriel, Saudriel and Saurgal, which is preferred by those which reject the use of "driel" or "crowned daughter" as part of "awkward" naming conventions.

More combinations of Annatar + Galadriel:

Annatariel, more recently popular as opposed to Annadriel

Other versions of Halbrand + Galadriel:

Galbrand, preferring to place Galadriel's name first.

Another favorite name combination that has yet to find one that sticks is Artanis + Artano. Fanartist, @anardilyas has suggested "Artane." 

Or...

Gorwen (Fear Maiden) for Gorthaur + Nerwen

Other suggestions, like Shadowlight, that are more conceptual, I think we should explore much more seriously though!

They have many names…

The vibes on this app have been ass lately so here's a list of ship names for Sauron and Galadriel, only they get more and more niche as the list goes on...

First, we begin with the one that started it all:

Haladriel

A combination of Galadriel's name and Halbrand (Sauron's form made for the race of men).

Halbrand - possibly a compound of hall “exalted, lofty” + brand “steeple” or brand “towering”, likely a spin on the name Halbarad. Alternatively, the first element might be hall “secret, hidden”.

The next and more divisive name is

Saurondriel

Sauron - "the abhorred"

Galadriel - "maiden crowned with a radiant garland".

It is a divisive ship name as it is mostly agreed by many, and most horrifyingly by Charlie himself, to be a bit clunky to say out loud, despite the nice juxtaposition of their name meanings being shoved together this way.

Martanis

Mairon - "the admirable" (This is perhaps his original name from his time with Aulë)

Due to the Noldor custom of giving elves both a father name and a mother name, we have Galadriel's father name:

Artanis - "noble woman"

This is a growing favorite of mine since it just sounds really pretty. Also likely their earliest given names, both with the most positive associations attached to them. One of the best accounts on here for Sauron and Galadriel content also bears the username @martanis

Annatar - "Lord of Gifts"

Altáriel - The Quenya name of Galadriel

(For those who enjoy the Annatar form, I guess this one would be perfect)

Nervildo

Many people are unaware that for much of Beren and Luthien, Sauron appears in the earliest drafts of the story in the form of a black cat…

Nerwen - “man-maiden” (her mother name)

Tevildo - “prince of cats”

Full credit goes to @nocaptainonthisship who was the original user I saw using this ship name and it must not be overlooked. As a warrior cats girl myself growing up, Tevildo's form has always been one of my favs. Galadriel as a furry is also.... quite an interesting concept to think about.

Nerthû

Continuing with Sauron's earliest names from the tale of Beren and Luthien. We have a combination of Nerwen as seen above and

Thû - "horrible darkness, black mist."

Saladriel

What can I even say about this one??? Another attempt to create a more fluid combination of Sauron and Galadriel’s names. Still quite clunky but much more amusing than the first attempt.

Curthaur

Curuni - witch, *sorceress, female magician (not necessarily evil)

Gorthaur - gor (“fear, dread”) + thaur (“abominable, abhorrent”)

(This is my own special creation. Obviously inspired by this dark Galadriel form)

But anyway, please add to this list! This should be ever growing and ever expanding in its lunacy. Combine and add to the different names associated with Galadriel and Sauron in the most cringiest and nonsensical ways possible.
