oscar should have a sleepy little koala as his animal companion. in the garage lando's hamster likes to sit on top of oscar's koala, but on weekends where mark is there, the koala just clings happily to him.

i feel like nico hulkenberg should have some kind of dog, like a golden labrador, that gets along shockingly well with max's Spot and kevin's bunny.

carlos deserves a meerkat that likes to rest on his shoulder and gets along very well with lando's hamster and charles' mouse/hedgehog.

yuki's animal companion should be a fennec fox, and nico's sassy little artic fox takes yuki's companion under her (metaphorical) wing and teaches her how to be tiny and dramatic and gorgeous

Nng yes ofc Oscar has a koala! A sweet clingy koala just holding onto him and snoozing away lol! And Lando having a little hamster sitting on the koalas head aksks judt AH! And Oscar's koala being so attached to Mark and even sometimes wanting to be held more by Mark than Oscar lmaoo

Hulk having a labrador yesss! The dog is as goofy as Hulk is and doesn't listen well lol! And everyone is surprised when Kev's bun seems to be very comfortable!

Plss Carlos having a meerkat perched on his shoulder often and it's cute and more alert than Carlos himself during press conferences lol!

Skwksks Yuki's fennec being quite unproblematic until Nico's fox decides the fennec is her mini me now and she will teach it to be tiny and dramatic and screechy sksk!

Think about it:

Purple coded character that loves learning about the world is trapped in a tower due to an abusive older woman who is only interested in their power

The purple coded character meets the sarcastic yet charismatic criminal that initially is only using the purple coded character as a means to an end but ends up falling for them

They have multiple antics and they have a romantic moment IN A BOAT TOGETHER

Idea: one of those "Ash somehow ends up in a group chat (usually with the Champions or Legendaries, sometimes with other characters) the first day of his journey and it messes with the series" AUs that've been popping up on AO3 lately, but instead it's a group chat made up of alternate versions of himself. One of them's the canon version (or at least close to it), the rest are AU versions, at least one of them is Ashley (not sure if trans or just genderbent. leaning towards trans), and all of them are from post-series and trying not to give too many spoilers because they don't want to overwhelm their "mini-me" or make things too easy for him 'cause if they do he won't grow as a trainer and person like they did (not that he'd want them to coddle him like that anyway. He's always wanted to get through on his own merits not have victories just handed to him). Also Arceus told them not to (who else do you think would've set this up?).

Granted, sometimes even when they do give spoilers it doesn't help much between them not having perfect memories, being from alternate timelines so a lot of the details are different between them, and forgetting just how stubborn and bull-headed their Kanto Era self could be.

I call it the "Self-Help Hotline" AU

I think most of us have heard about the idea of Animal Shelter Director!Halsin in a modern bg3 AU. But let me raise to you: Nature-Therapist!Halsin

For those of you not knowing what I mean, allow me to drop an anecdote of my recent life:

I was in the psychosomatic clinic a few months ago, and in there we had smth. called "garden therapy" we did a bit of woodworking, someone made a little table. we nutured and grew different plants, beets, flowers, etc. I even planted a tree-seedling. Even tho I won't see the end result of that now, I know that I did it and others will find joy in it, for example: the garden therapist we had there!

At the beginning of each garden-therapy we would sit together under the trees, and the garden therapist would tell us anecdotes or read a poem for us, mostly both, which would correlate to something mentaly positive we could take out of the therapy, even if gardening wasn't our thing (which was kind of the case for me)

Now, back to Modern AU bg3: I could totally see Halsin in that position! Caring so deeply for nature but also using it and his experience with it to help others see the positive in their life again. Showing his patients how great plants react to loving care, to inspire them to do the same for themselfs.

Are you seeing my vision here?

Gravity Falls His Dark Materials/Daemon AU

where Stanley's daemon falls into the portal with Ford while Ford's daemon stays behind with Stanley.

I'm thinking that Bill manages to drive a huge wedge between Ford and his daemon, maybe convincing him that daemons are just useless dust particles, that they are just basically shadow puppets illuminated on a wall. (Besides, Bill doesn't have a daemon so Ford doesn't need one either).

And then after Ford finds out about Bill's true colours, he locks his daemon away in a room somewhere in the house in a fit of paranoia/to protect it from Bill.

...And in the multiverse, Ford is very overprotective and would eviscerate anyone who would even attempt to touch Stanley's daemon.

Danuary24_ Free Day (+ Voyage?)

I'm a bit late because I wanted to clean the sketches digitally, but @crossoverdanuary you can blame @cleanlenins and their birthday present for this idea! (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)

In this crossover, when the Portal Incident happened, Danny got Isekai-ed into the One Piece World early in the East Blue saga (still haven't decided exactly when).

It's also (back in Amity) a No One Knows AU, so when the Portal started working "out of nowhere", Danny seemingly disappeared in the same period (no one could actually pinpoint when, though, due to neglect).

Was Danny friends with Tucker and Sam? Did they even exist in this Amity at all? No clue, but the only thing I know for certain is that Danny was a lonely boi...

Until the Strawhats happened, that is.

Like canon, Danny needed a while to start learning how to use his powers, which were such a trial and error thing that he ended getting a slightly different "moveset", so to speak:

Basic common powers + Ghost Form_ ✓

Ice powers_ ✓ (after Drum/Alabasta)

Overshadowing_ X (technically he still could, but has no idea it's a viable option)

Weakness to the Seastone_ ✓ (it has the same properties as the Ectoranium)

Telekinesis_ ✓

Ghostly Wail_ ✓ (post Water 7, if you know what I mean) However, it leaves him so drained that in addition to going back to human form, he's also unable to move for a while (pre-time skip)

Devil Fruit Sense_ ✓ (works like Ghost Sense)

Duplication_ X

(NEW) Spiritual Extraction:

If an object has enough personality/presence, Danny can extract/create a spiritual projection (or even a ghost if the physical object is destroyed) of it. The "blob ghosts" thus created are capable of interacting (minor powers included) with the material world depending on how much of his ectoplasm he feeds them. The Going Merry is the first example of it (AKA the first pic), followed shortly after the Gomu Gomu no Mi and the Hito Hito no Mi (Luffy and Chopper's Devil Fruits). (Oddly enough, the Hana Hana no Mi and the Hono Hono no Mi, Nico Robin's and Ace's fruits respectively, can't be projected, but they dismiss it as Danny's weird biology.) Few other objects that can be affected include the Wado Ichimonji, the Sandai Kitetsu and Luffy's Hat. (Still deciding what else to add.)

As you probably have already guessed if you're following the Japanese scans, the reason Luffy's fruit can be projected is because it's a Zoan.

The reason for this is that the manga said that Zoan have their own personality (which could overwhelm the user if their will isn't strong enough) and so I interpreted that this implies also a spirit/soul within!

(Thus, in the second pic, the mini swirly sun over the sleeping Danny, Merry and Sunny is Nika, who's bewildered by the mere concept of staying still and resting. You should move and have fun!!)

Other spoilery plot things include:

Usopp never deflected at Water 7 (there was still angst about the physical death of the Merry, but having her literal spirit hanging out with and scolding you if you were spiraling helped immensely);

Franky's personality (since he's one of his creators) rubbed off Sunny, so he's prone to join him in his dances and screaming "SUUUUUPEEEERRR!";

Danny gives off passive harmless ectoplasm radiations (moreover when he's in ghost form) that the Merry feed on when she's a full ghost and so doesn't need any active recharge;

because of his high metabolism, Danny has to eat either a lot (not Luffy-levels) or food choke-packed of nutrients. They also notice that the rawer the meat, the less Danny needs to eat (since it has higher content of non-degraded ectoplasm);

As I was writing the previous point, a thought occurred to me: could this also be a Ghost Hunger AU where Danny also feeds on emotions? 🤔 Let's keep it on maybe, because with Luffy around it would be like a nuclear reactor to feed on. No, I changed mind again, it's a YES, because there's no Ambient Ectoplasm in the One Piece world (contrary to what I headcanon Amity Park), so the only way for Danny to survive at all would be to stay on Luffy's side almost constantly.

And this leads me to the timeskip separation: because of the battle with Kizaru and the Pacifistas, and consequent use of 1-2 Wails, Danny has to retreat to his Core (first time ever happened), causing panic and forcing Luffy to stash it in the ribbon of his hat due to the heat of the battle (and so be separated along with him).

Danny stays unconscious two whole arcs, until Luffy is about to die of poison on Level 5 of Impel Down. He still hasn't enough energy to manifest outside his Core, but he gives his Captain as much as he could to keep him alive until the Okamas find and save them; he continues to do so even during the Hormone Treatment, having received a boost from Bon Kure and the others' emotional cheering.

After a short rest (he fainted) made during the escape, Danny wakes up again at Luffy's Conqueror Haki shout and given how much death and despair there's in the air, he's able to manifest again and speed up the rescue.

Who lives and who dies? No clue, but given my bleeding heart, Ace Lives, but not without grave injuries for the three of them (maybe so much that Danny ends again into his Core).

I just realized that this could end with Danny adopted officially into the ASL (Luffy had already started the process)... Our boy Danny is so Adoptable™ LMAO

Sabo regains his memories at the news of the close call and hijacks any mode of transportation to reach the trio. Two years timeskip happen with quartet bonding and training, then into the New World We Go!

Nothing else comes to mind at the moment, but I guess that I already said enough, don't I? (≧∇≦)

Maybe it's Nicos labrador that finds Kevin's bunny. Didn't Mick also have a golden retriever or something. I could see the two dogs working together to find their little bun for Kevin.

Oh plss! The 2 dogs going to find bun, Mick's dog actually being good at searching while Nico's dog is easily distracted but determined! They find little Bun and Pierre's birdy and manage to bring them back after biting the captor in the ankle lol!

It's worth it, they both get belly scratches from Kev and Bun let's them lick her head without thumping

Hey, so for the Human Au, how do think Julie would go about her life? Considering her personality in the website, I would think that he takes up different part-time jobs, but mainly likes working at the community center, mainly for the summer/after school programs where they can come up with and host fun activities for the kids!

no yeah that's pretty much what i was thinking! she bounces from job to job - she probably has a roster of seasonal ones that she rotates between. Julie really does seem like an every-gal yk? doing just one thing all the time would be soooo boring

i like the idea of summer / after school programs a lot actually! since canon Julie is big on games and fun, i'm sure she'd be a great choice for those sorts of things. i bet she works a seasonal summer camp in their county!

Have the Chaos and Master Emeralds ever tried to take a Mobian-like form? You know, so they could have some form of agency?

And if so, what was it like for them?

While that is an interesting concept, no they have not. Mostly because they're not fully sentient they can react but don't have an ego.

Though if they did, they'd take the form of a chao :)

Streamer!Ash AU: Do any of Ash's future companions watch his streams before joining up with him? What about League members (such as Gym Leaders, Elite 4, and Champions)?

The Kanto League Members and Tracey don't watch the streams before meeting him because by that point it's still too early for it to really be popular.

Most of the Johto League members also probably don't watch it yet, but Casey (the baseball girl from a few episodes) apparently watched them from the start and was inspired to stream her own journey.

By Hoenn he's actually gained a pretty big following, plus Lance warned the other Champions ahead of time because holy hell this kid gets into a lot of weird dangerous shit, so we get most League Members at least vaguely recognizing him from now on with a few fans in the mix. Max definitely watches considering he already watched Ash's League matches in canon and May definitely does not considering her canonical complete disinterest in Pokemon Training in her canon debut.

As for his other companions, Cilan and Clemont will at least be vaguely aware since they're Gym Leaders, Serena obviously does Because Serena, not sure for Dawn, Iris, Bonnie or the Alola crew, Goh started watching after the Mewtwo incident Because Mew and Chloe only knows it as "That Show Goh Never Shuts Up About," and Team Plasma tries to keep N from finding out the stream exists but he totally finds it anyway.
