Reincarnation Everlasting Trio Part 2 (DPxDC)

(The flu is kicking my ass, so I decided to fight back by publishing this! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ ...At least I'm at home and not at work? Small victories... And please don't hate me...!)

Gotham's second third best kept secret after the locations (and their related secrets) of the BatCave and Danny's resting place is the Stolon.

In the most hidden crypt under the corpse of the oldest greenhouse ever built in the gothic city, there's a thick net of roots and vines that cover every inch of the marmored chamber. Like a protective shell or a vegetal Fort Knox, the crypt enshrines Undergrowth’s (the Ancient of the Flora) most precious gift to the Green (their living offspring): the Gynaeceum, a cocoon-like structure capable of generating either an offspring or an avatar for the Green to inhabit and walk on Earth.

But since Professor Pamela Isley is an excellent avatar for them already, the Green doesn’t feel the need for a body at the moment, buuuut… conveniently their Parent loaned them a soul to look after recently and Poison Ivy deserved a reward and, let’s say, an incentive to keep pursuing her beloved Harleen Quinzel…

So, why not incubate the loaned soul with the DNA of both Pamela and Harley in the Gynaeceum? It’d be a huge success for everyone!

The soul, however, wasn't agreeing very much with the idea (like the rebellious goth child that she still is) and had to be coaxed through the stages until proper development, let's say until puberty begins to kick in for a standard human body, so around 8-13 years old, so the body had to stay in the cocoon until that age.

So after a “natural” test tube pregnancy of 10 years, Antheia was born as a pre-teen, right before the newly wed Pam and Harley, who were called there by the Green.

The two Sirens were taken aback by (but not averse of) the gift after the shock settled and they got an explanation as to why and how all of this happened.

(The only reason they didn't go apeshit on the Green for basically doing the same thing Lex Luthor did with Superman to make Connor was that Pam knows that the Green doesn't have the same set of morality and values that humans do, plus they don't even think in the same way, so she understood even if at the beginning she was a bit miffed for not being asked. Harley, since she trusts her wife, suspended her judgement until Pam explained the Green's reasoning and way of thinking. If she also can't hate the child because she somewhat feels familiar, it's another thing that she doesn't voice to anyone… And… she's so disappointed for having missed so much of her new baby's life! They could have visited during the gestation and human contact could have made the soul more cooperative and so have it latch earlier on their new body and so get birthed earlier!)

Antheia was mentally on the level of a newborn, but catches on quickly and in just 2 years or so she’s already behaving like (and with the knowledge of) her physical age. 

Pam and Harley absolutely love her to pieces and don’t-call-me-by-my-full-name Thea shares the sentiment. Both women have different connections with their daughter, tho: Ivy through Green’s powers and shared beliefs on nature and Harley by being fiercely protective of what they consider their own, not accepting (anymore) abuse by anyone.

[After failing to “cure” the Joker and falling into his clutches/partial insanity in her origin story, Quinn did kill people, but only criminals, as inexplicably something always stopped her from harming civilians and innocents. And while the Joker did punish these lacks, he still considered her useful, so he used her only where she was able to act. When and why did Harley finally manage to renounce everything about him, then? During the nth escape from Arkham, on a whim she went and checked her mail kept in the asylum deposit during the years. An enthusiastic letter from a girl in Illinois struck so many chords in her that made Harley say to herself: “Wtf am I even doing with my life?? This isn’t what I wanted to be!” And so proceeded to go and beat the everliving shit out of the Joker as he was starting to do the same with the newest and second Robin in one of Gotham warehouses, where the latter had been lured to. Having called Bruce (since she had figured out his identity a while ago because of knowing each other in med school), he rushed Jason to the ICU (remember the kinder timeline I mentioned in the previous post?) and managed to save him in time and the Joker got back to Arkham for a while longer than usual…]

The attitude that Thea inherited from her mothers (once 12) leads her to at first trying to sneak out and follow them in their night time activities of “anti-heroes”, but thanks to the Green, she always gets caught. After one too many times of that, the Sirens cave in and decide that it will be better to teach her the ropes and make her their sidekick, since it’s safer than letting her go solo and they can’t really stop her (much like Bruce does with all his Robins, tbh. (≧∇≦) )

During one of these escapades/missions, it was inevitable that the latest (the fourth, since it's been a while since Harley saved Jason) Robin and Thea (codename: Blossom) meet… and pick on each other like cat and dog.

The rest of the BatFam places so many bets on them, with Steph and Dick comparing them to Bruce and Selina, but with violence as a love language. Jason and Tim just hope that they won't tear each other out (since they got the burnt of Damian's hostility back when he came at the Wayne Manor, but without the canonical murder attempts, since Jason is still in rehabilitation and Tim had openly stated from the beginning that he was subbing in for the Robin role until the former got better to get back on the street if he wanted).

(Tim, in this, prefers to be the tech guy much more, with only some brawl in the mix, like Oracle’s assistant that does what Babs cannot anymore. The timeline is still kinder, since, while Babs won't recover the 100% of her functionality, she can still walk with a cane.)

Then it all changes when Phantom, or better, Danny joins in the mix. He and Damian!Tucker have so much to catch up with that they're practically joined to the hip and that leads to not meeting Blossom while they’re on patrol since they take different routes than usual.

Hearing the rumor of a new meta vigilante and the sightings of him only with Robin, absolutely doesn’t stir any jealousy in Thea (note the sarcasm) and so to set things straight with her rival, Blossom calls a favor with her mom to arrange a meeting with Batman and Robin. Harley is super amused by the whole thing, so she accepts only on the condition of chaperoning the whole thing (plus B wouldn’t come “just for Blossom”, she has to be there as well!)

In order to keep things civil (as a contingency plan agreed by both B and Harley), they meet on the roof of a Batburger (the highest one where no one could overhear them and it’s away from the plants), only the four of them. (They get Alfred distract Danny by asking him to do chores with him since “he’s getting old” *cough*BS*cough* and our boi is so eager to help/people-please.)

Blossom and Harley are already there when the Bats arrive and the former is already glaring at the boy.

“So? Where did you leave your new pet?” Blossom demands, looking around.

“He’s not my pet!” Robin snaps, hackles raised.

“Then how come he’s following you around like a puppy, uh? Bet he’s at your beck and call” 

“Don’t talk about him like he’s a thing! His parents already did that enough back when they were alive, so don’t you dare, allochthonous species!” Blossom gasps in outrage, since it’s an (ecology) insult he learned from her.

“So this is just a crusade to fix the new stray while forgetting your duty? Where were you when we busted that exotic animal smuggling ring? You abandoned us!” 

Hit hard by the guilt trip, Robin is quick to recover, though. “You managed just fine, didn’t you? I couldn’t leave him, as there’s no one other than me who’s able to deal with his breakdowns!” He snaps, then centers himself and frowns at her. “What’s your deal, by the way, dudette? You didn’t act like this when I collaborated lengthily with Superboy Jr.”

Getting the whiplash from the unfamiliar slang mixed with formal language, Blossom recoils, as a wave of vertigo hits her. Wtf was that?? She focuses back on the topic, steeling herself. “That ‘Supersons’ thing was nowhere near what’s happening here. You changed so much that I can barely recognize you. So don’t feed me this BS! What happened that made you leave me behind?”

Oh. That’s the crux of the matter, isn’t it? Before Danny’s return and the subsequent recovery of his memories as Tucker, Robin and Blossom had been vigilante partners whenever they teamed up, sometimes even more in sync than with Batman. But how to lay out gently that she’s partially right but he hasn’t meant to? It’s then that Tucker Foley’s famous nonexistent mouth-filter strikes, subverting anything Damian Wayne has ever learned about tact. “Hey, it’s not my fault! You would change too if the guy you like kissed you out of the blue!” He blurts.

(In the background Batman facepalms, hard, Harley gasps and the BatFam cackles in the comms, as Oracle is making them eavesdrop.)

“...So that’s how it is.” A pause, then rage. “You led me on!”

“Wha- Never!” The Tucker in him is still on the reins. “Circumstances changed and I swear I didn’t mean to stop thinking of you! It was a blast from the past, literally, that I had no idea it was available to me!”

“Oh so now it's because of your tragic backstory that you're dumping me? I thought we were partners in crime!”

“We still are, it doesn't have to be mutually exclusi-” Damian!Tucker begins, hotly, only to be interrupted by an alarm going off in the comms.

Everybody tenses as Oracle starts to interject. «Arkham just noticed that the Joker has escaped, they have a hole of two hours in the security tapes!»

«I’m tracking his goons as we speak, it seems that they gathered so much C4 that they could celebrate the Fourth of July!» Hiereus (priest in Greek, helper of the Oracle, new name I choose for Tim instead of Red Robin) informs them, sound of the keyboard being smashed in the background. 

“Where are the bombs?” B demands, tense, ready to grapple at a moment's notice, while the other three get ready too.

«Still searching, still searching… here! All the Batburgers’ roofs.» There's a pause of appropriate horror, before they all register the sentence. «B get out of ther-»

You know what they say about any kinder timeline?

The more you have to lose (the taller they stand)...

BOOOOOOM!

…The harder you (they) fall.

Reincarnation Everlasting Trio Part 1 (DPxDC)

(I started this when my idle brain was disassociating on a job that I don't dislike but my boss is an ass, so go me, yey!)

And look at that! I managed to finish Part 1 just in time for Valentine's day!

Prompt: TUE happened (the timeline is a bit messed up, tho, so not everything followed the number of the episodes), but Clockwork didn't reverse the second explosion.

Danny, not wanting history to repeat itself, fakes his death along with his family and friends in the Nasty Burger and after ransacking the lab plus destroying the Portal (& FentonWorks since he's making it look like it was a full Ecto-filter's fault), he gtfo.

Danny's pretty done with life, but since he's a halfa, he's functionally immortal, so the only way to get "eternal sleep" is something similar to Pariah's sarcophagus.

But contrary to what the Ancients did back then, Danny would hide his coffin himself where no one would find him.

In a place rich of ambient ectoplasm (to power up the tech that would keep him “safe”), but inaccessible to anyone who doesn't have intangibility and even then he would put up an Ecto-shield to prevent anyone to bypass the solid bedrock that he would use as natural barricade.

Amity is not a safe Ecto-rich place anymore because of Vlad, so the next best city seems to be Gotham, what with the ley lines and several ghost curses layered on there.

So Danny digs a chamber hundreds meters under Gotham and builds from scratch his prison, going out only three or four times to get some missing scraps and just enough food and water to let him finish the job (completely ignoring the new vigilantes starting to go out at night).

(He meets Robin!Dick once and most likely a still-stray Jason, but he quickly forgets about them, since he's too depressed to care.)

Once finished the project, Danny goes stargazing as Phantom at the highest point of the city one last time, where (a still not overly paranoid) Batman converges to assess him as a threat.

The two talk and have a heart-to-heart (mostly because Bruce sees another grieving kid like Dick and tries somehow to help), but nothing B says is enough to make Phantom desist from what Bruce thinks is commiting suicide.

However, Danny still thanks him for trying and for treating him like a person (Anti-Ecto-Acts are mentioned during their talk and you can bet that later B is gonna check on them) and that Batman is going to be a good dad for his kids.

(This comment leads later to a kinder timeline than the mess that is canon. ꒰(@｀꒳´)꒱ )

Danny manages to snatch one hug from the man, then he flees to the secret chamber, where he “goes to sleep” after engaging every lock and shield.

Even if Batman managed to tag Danny with a bug, he misses his signal once he goes underground and that makes him regret not being able to save him.

Maybe if he had been more open and emotionally reachable, he would have succeeded?

(...and that's how Bruce starts to go to therapy, but shhhhh!)

Years pass and Danny stays as a Sleeping Beauty, however, despite being good at science, he doesn't know everything, so he couldn't have imagined that water would filter through the rock and start pooling inside the chamber (the equipment is luckily waterproof).

However, the passive Ecto-radiation and the small amount of pure ectoplasm that leaks from the top of the filter, makes the water slowly turn into its Lazarus variant.

Though, contrary to LoA’s Water, this Lazarus Pit is pure and uncorrupted due to the filtering machines. 

Over the years (~15… 😏) the water digs through the chamber and shapes it into a cave that eventually connects to the Batcave. 

Maybe the cave-in of a wall, makes some of the Robins go and check if the stability of the ground is still sound and find the Lazarus Pit that covers (almost) completely both the shield and sight of what's under the surface.

When the kids report, B asks for a complete scan of the Pit and it results in discovering that there's something at the bottom.

So they send an aquatic probe to look into it directly and come up to the coffin that has something written on the top in case some ghost did manage to find Danny's spot but not enter the barrier.

(The probe, being “normal”, is able to pass without problem through the shield, though.)

The text is written in multiple languages (just in case) and reads:

“Here lies Danny Phantom. Please do not disturb me while I'm resting, as I want to half-live the saying ‘I’ll sleep when I'm dead.’”

For the first time ever, Damian snorts in genuine amusement aloud and doesn't notice (the other Bats do and start freaking out), but then the camera zooms to the face of the boy inside the coffin and Bruce does a double take as he recognizes the kid he wasn't able to save.

That moment of shock is enough to make the man freeze and not be able to react in time to Damian lunging to the Pit and diving directly inside of it. 

The BatFam starts to freak out even more and try to direct the probe to go and save Damian, but at the end they just manage to see live what he's doing.

Like it's just a normal salvage, Robin!Damian just ignites the instant floating buoys and that makes all the equipment emerge, with Damian sitting on the top of the coffin, completely ignoring the calls of the Bats. 

Immediately, Damian starts hacking the controls of the coffin, but it's not needed since as soon as he starts typing, the computer lights up and seemingly recognizes him, giving him immediate full access. 

Still ignoring the calls (no one can reach him since he's too far from the shore), Damian disengages the lock and “defrosts” Danny.

It takes a bit for him to wake up, but as soon as Danny starts to blink blearily, Damian is into his face, shouting.

“‘I'll sleep when I'm dead’? Really, Danny? You absolute moron!” 

It takes a couple of seconds to register anything, but as soon as he does, Danny gasps and leaps at Robin, snake-bear hugging him, as he climbs and clings all over the other boy.

(If either of them is crying while laughing, no they aren't: it's just the lingering Lazarus Water on their faces.)

Too scared to accidentally trigger the unknown “being” into constricting Damian to death, the BatFam waits, analyzing the interaction.

(Cass silently reassures them that they aren't a threat.) 

“How?!” It's the first thing that ‘Phantom’ says, leaning a bit back to cup their hands on Damian's face, trying to look into his eyes, but the mask is in the way.

Casually, Robin unmasks himself (!!) and smirks smugly, holding the meta(?) by the waist.

“You do remember that incident at the Egyptian Exhibit, don't you?” A nod, accompanied by a desolate puppy-like expression. “Did you really think that I would have waited that long to come back and find you?”

This time the tears are undeniable and, to hide them, the being buries their head in the crook of Damian's shoulder, clinging harder, but not enough to harm him. 

“Where's Sam?” The being asks, muffled, after a while.

“No clue, I just started remembering from reading the pun and seeing your face.”

“Humph, that checks out. ...We'll have to go and look for her, since she's twice as stubborn as you and so she would have come back too.” Damian snorts in amusement, but nods. There's a pause, then Danny jolts, leaning back from him to look at the other better with a frown.

“Wait, why are you drenched in ectoplasm?!” He looks around and sees the Pit. “Wtf dude, this is so not healthy for you, com’on, I have to decontaminate you, you moron!”

(At this, Danny gets so many points in B’s books.)

“Nah, don’t bother.” Damian shrugs, putting a hand on his own chest. “I know my body and with the memory of past me coming back, I think I’m already on the way of becoming a halfa? At least, the humming beside my heart feels much like your Core.”

Danny startles and puts his own hand on the other’s to assess himself.

“Before taking a dip in this Pit to salvage your ass, it wasn’t noticeable, but the ectoplasm must have fed it enough to become active.” Damian guesses as Danny examines the evidence.

“Not ‘on the way’, try ‘already are’. How’s that even possible?” Danny gapes.

“Sweet! Now we can go flying together!” Damian beams.

“Forget that for a second and answer me! This feels like a complete baby-Core, much like mine right after the Accident, but at the same time it’s older?” Danny frowns. “Like 15 or so years old.” Looks up at Damian in confusion.

“That checks out. My current grandfather is a cultist revenant ass (*BatFam gasps in shock*) who’s obsessed with using Pits of corrupted ectoplasm to stay alive. I got tossed inside one a couple of times to be revived as well and I don’t doubt for a second that some of it was used to develop me in the artificial womb.”

“Duuuude, how does your new life sound more crazy than ours back then?”

“The merit of choosing to be reincarnated as the heir of a vigilante Father,” Damian points at the Bats with a thumb, making Danny notice them for the first time, “the ‘curse’ of an interesting life and the chance to meet you again, I guess.”

After a glance that promises ‘we’ll talk about that later’ to Damian, Danny turns properly to the BatFam and startles at seeing Batman. “Oh, it’s the Bat-dude!” Quick glance at the rest of the people, “I knew you would be a good dad! Tucker wouldn’t have chosen you otherwise!” 

There are various splutters from every BatFam member and Damian grumbles in embarrassment.

“Wait, you know him B?” Red Robin side-turns towards Batman, frowning. “There’s no report of him in any file of the Batcomputer. And I’ve read all of them.”

“...Because I never wanted a record of my failure glaring back at me. I already gave myself a hard time as it was, it would have made things worse and Black Canary agreed with that assessment.” B admits.

“What failure?” Jason (who has another vigilante name, since, you know, the Red Hood moniker was to spite B and in this timeline there’s no need for that) gapes.

“Probably me coming down here to get some ‘Eternal Sleep’.” Danny shuts off the barrier, picks up Damian and flies with him on the shore, phasing the residual ecto from their forms. “You thought it was an euphemism for suicide, not literal, wasn’t it?”

“Yes, you did give that impression. Are you alright, son?” B looks at Damian, still not outing his civilian name to be on the safe side.

“Of course, Father. This Ectoplasm Pit has none of the junk Grandfather’s has. Danny knows his stuff and his Ecto-filters are the top notch. (Danny blushes in the bg at the praise) Heck, it could even be used to cure Pit Madness or to revive people without it in the first place.”

“Let’s not try it, please!” Danny hastily intervenes, “No dying for anyone in my family allowed now that I’m back!” 

“Dude, we aren't immortal and you know that.” Damian shoulders Danny in scolding.

“They aren't immortal, you mean. You're a halfa now. Death won't stick on us in any way that matters, so I don't want anyone getting KiA at least. If they get to the point of being old and happy, then I'm fine with them going to rest. But don't think that I will leave your side any time soon.” Danny says pointedly at Damian, who bristles.

“That's completely insane, you can't be everywhere and above all you can't stalk me everywhere! I'm Robin, Batman's right hand, I won't be babysat when I have more experience than you no-” Damian's rant gets silenced by Danny kissing him.

Even after he lets go, Damian's brain is still blue screening while the BatFam is either gaping or catcalling.

“Tucker, or whatever you new name is, why do you think I went to sleep there after you all died in your past life?” Points at the coffin. “You remember that ‘Other Me’?”

“Vaguely, details are still a bit fuzzy, but he didn’t say much anyway after he tied us to the boiler…” Damian blinks, still a bit dazed by the kiss, but then grimaces at Danny’s flinch.

“Yeah, well, he actually went insane after losing you since that gave him an Obsession Failure. He broke down so deeply and irreversibly that it twisted him enough that accepting Vlad’s help led him to being the Scourge of Humanity. I-I… promised you to never become like him, so… this was the only way I could do that. I didn’t know what else to do, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to save you after all!” Danny breaks down, crying and sobbing and collapsing against Damian, as he cradles him in his arms.

Damian tries to console him with both physical affection (hugs and caresses) and murmuring reassurances (things like ‘it’s okay, it’s alright, it’s not your fault’) until the outburst slows down and his latest proposition catches Danny’s attention.

“Do you want to meet Batcow? She’s a true sweetheart, her therapist abilities are without equals among the living.”

“...You have a pet cow?” Danny’s voice is still rough with tears, but his disbelief is unmistakable.

“Of course I can have a pet cow! I saved her from an inhumane slaughterhouse, what I’ve seen there even made me swear off meat!” Damian!Tucker says righteously, but then realization sinks in as he stares with growing horror into Danny’s wide eyes.

“Oh Ancients, I’ve become like Sam! And I can’t even go back on the belief of my new life because both she and my current self have a point!”

That seems another breaking point, because Danny starts laughing so hard that he’s crying again.

“It’s not funny Danny, I’m having a crisis here!” Damian!Tucker cries in despair (to hide the relief that his best friend/crush/future boyfriend? isn’t as hopeless and depressed as before) as he lightly shakes the other, making him laugh even harder.

(He won’t let him go either. As Damian, now Tucker has all the skills he lacked in his past life and can protect his People. He won’t fail again.)

@bulbagarden I finally did it!

I wanted so much to participate in the Anniversary Collab that I was able to manifest this absolute cutie! It took me a while because I'm not much proficient with shading and lighting, but I'm satisfied with how they turned out!

Thank you so much for giving us the chance to do this and I still absolutely love your Tumblr blog, you admins (Lisia and Blanc, was it? I didn't forget anyone, didn't I? (‘◉⌓◉’) ) do a wonderful job and so deserve all the praise! [It's not lip service, if it's true-! ꒰(@｀꒳´)꒱]

Whom the fuck I'm looking at?

(I know it's late, but it's still February 6th in the Americas, and so it's Mewtwo's Birthday! I couldn't pass the coincidence when I was already late!)

I was debating choosing between this and another piece (because the other will be destined for the Green with Envy Phandom event), but this one won out because Dracovish is my baby and I soft-resetted so much to get them shiny on Sword, so here they are!

Dracovish has a bubble made of ghostly ice around their head so that they can breathe water through their gills and so live easier than their "canonical" game counterparts, where they struggle to breathe air...

Poor babies, it's not their fault that the scientists had decided to mount the head of a fish Pokémon on the tip of a tail of another species alltogether...

(This is based on a real life story about the early assemblage of dinosaur fossils and their inaccuracies. And that makes me love these four Galarian Fossils even more other than their goofy faces. (⁠*⁠´⁠ω⁠｀⁠*⁠) )

Now I'm extremely eepy, so I'm going to bed, but y'all should expect another piece of art tomorrow, hope you'll like it!

I had so much fun combining these prompts after you gave me the "Okay Go"! So here's the backstory behind the pic:

Having to go out shopping for Christmas presents, Jazz ropes the three Phantoms into helping her, even resorting to use bribes in order to succeed... And since she's a troll/gremlin, Dani's condition was that Danny had to wear an Elsa dress. Unfortunately for his dignity, Danny is very much weak to the ✨Puppy Eyes of Doom✨, so he caves pretty quickly and wears the dress... (which he doesn't mind, mind you!) However (also) luckily, Dani is not completely merciless, so to preserve (some of) his reputation, she breaks out the sign of a nonexistent "lost bet", so the bullies wouldn't be as ruthless as they could have been otherwise. (But if they were... Well, only Dani and Dan is allowed to pick on her brother, so incidents could happen to the bullies out of Danny's sight... >:3c ) Dan agreed to be here for the shitshow and making fun of his past-self (and to spend time with his regained family). Plus, Cujo?? is being extra adorable??? So, yeah, he also gets to walk his emotional support puppy around.

Prompt 1: Dani having fun experiencing her first Christmas! Cookie decorating or driving around looking at Christmas lights or any other fun Christmas activities!

Prompt 3: Cujo experiencing snow! Possibly with him wearing a little dog coat or boots

Prompt 4: Danny as Elsa from frozen (possibly singing let it go) with the sparkly ice dress or full ghost king outfit

(This could technically be post AGiT, but it can be just an AU where Dan is reformed/-ing.)

I swear, making the dresses (both Danny's and Cujo's) was an epic journey that made me use and discover new skills and brushes with the art app, so thank you! (⁠*⁠´⁠ω⁠｀⁠*⁠) The blob ghost on the saddle decided to hitch a ride because why not? (≧∇≦)

I couldn't help but give Dan the Roronoa Zoro's Haramaki™ (the green "bellywarmer"), because I thought it fits his character and he definitely got buried by a monstrous amount of manga/anime to read and watch by his siblings, Tuck and Sam, because, let's be honest: even if he's a homicidal decade older and half-Vlad, he's still half-Danny. A dorky teenager (who grew too soon and quickly, yes, but still a teenager at the core), who reads comic and play games in his free time. In this AU, that part of him didn't get killed erased with his humanity, just got buried under the grief and violence, so now that he has calmed down he can catch up with what he missed.

He's a geek. (≧∇≦)

Amity Park news station, looking to boost ratings, hires a retired sports commentator (or repurposes Lance Thunder again) to report on ghost fights in the form of a play-by-play.

“Yeah Tiffany, I’m out here on Main Street and it looks like Phantom is engaged with a giant…human slash snake ghost—no clue if this one has a name but it is pretty vocal as you can hear—“ they are cut off by a screech.

“Has it said anything discernible, like a name or a motive?”

“Not really, it—“

“I WILL FEAST ON YOUR SOUL!”

“Well, that’s a motive for sure. Oh, Phantom is going into a dive toward it, he’s gaining speed.”

“Feast on this, motherfu—“

The feed cuts. A t-shirt design is up within a day.

One Reflection, Two Souls 

(Ficlet so smol that I decided to release it in the Tumblr Wilds instead of Ao3. Enjoy!)

Evenings like this were becoming common: Jazz was sitting cross-legged on Danny's bed with papers scattered before her while her brother was positioned at his desk, at least attempting to do his homework while there was no attack on Amity.

Usually, Danny preferred working alone without the overbearing presence of his sister, but after the reveal of her knowledge about his secret identity, she had so many questions still unanswered that they did mini-sessions where they helped each other with their own expertise. 

“I was thinking…” Jazz started, while staring contemplating at one particular sheet.

“When aren't you?” Danny didn't even look up from his notebook as he sassed her.

“Haha, smartass.” She halfheartedly threw him a socks ball (which had been among a pile on the nightstand) that he let phase through his head without effort. Then he just threw it in their open drawer, like the routine they had already done plenty of times. “We pretty much established that Ghost Cores are souls, didn't we? And that souls are unique and impossible to replicate at 100%?”

At this, Danny paused, then he turned towards her, leaning an arm on the top of the backrest, and eyed weirdly.

“Yeah?” He prompted when she didn't elaborate, now frowning.

“Then, how was Vlad even supposed to be able to clone you, or anyone for the matter?” Jazz asked.

The halfa froze, taken aback by the question, his expression akin to that one meme where the stick-man raises their index but stays speechless.

Jazz nodded sagely in understanding at his reaction.

 “...He couldn't have been able to. Even with my mid-morph DNA, the Prime clone would have been a whole ass different person, even with all my memories!” Danny breathed in shock and bewilderment. “After all Dani, even if in Vlad's eyes her "defects" are her age and gender, still has all my preferences, my tics and some of my past memories, but often she wouldn't make the same choices I would in the same circumstances! How the heck could the fruitloop have messed up so badly and missed something like that? He flaunts all his grandiose knowledge and experience, but the thing about Ghost Cores is the first info that Skulker told me after describing how he would take my pelt!” He rambled, scandalized.

“You never told me that!” Jazz protested, making Danny wince.

“Well, it wasn't the first time he had caught me and I had to stall while Tuck was hacking his jetpack, so I made him monologue, but… when he realized that I didn't know a single thing about Ghost Cores, he sat me down and lectured me like a misbehaving toddler.” He admitted, resting his chin on the still propped up arm, looking sullen.

“Well, didn't Frostbite tell you that by ghost standards you still are a youngling?” Jazz pointed out with mirth in her voice. Danny just groaned in response.

“Yeah, but when an enemy that before has tried to dismember you looks at you, concerned, and asks why you haven't already known about Ghost biology, it gets awkward. Above all, if he opens his faceplate, climbs down his heavily armed armor as a pint-sized ghost and explains to you the finer details of what a ghost is and is made of, while you're still tied like a mummy!”

Jazz knew that the situation hadn't been funny back then, but she couldn't help the snort that came out of her that developed into peals of belly laughter.

“Yeah, yeah, laugh it up!” In the background, the halfa grumbled mutinously. “Next time, I'll aim the Box Ghost at you to give you the ghost version of the Talk. We'll see how you'll cope with all those box metaphors and similes, like I had to listen!”

“Danny, I can't breathe, s-s-staph!” Jazz rolled off the bed and her fall on the soft carpet did nothing to stop her laughter.

Danny let her go on, totally done with the discussion and turned back to his homework, shuddering. Better them than the (double) Talk trauma.

A/N. This minuscole one shot had been born from a spur of the moment inspiration as a mere dialogue and got away from me when I added the description of the actions around said dialogue.

I regret nothing, though.

By the way, the reason Vlad doesn't know about this is because he didn't get to meet any (responsible) ghost until he had reached ghost-adulthood, so no one could ever imagine that he lacked the basic knowledge.

I choose Skulker to give the Core Talk because given that he's a hunter, he has to know the intricacies of the bodies of his preys to preserve their pelts and flesh. But now that he knows that Danny is practically an infant, (apart from the paid assignments that Vlad gives him) all the fights he gets Danny into are more akin to a lion/tiger playing with his cub to help him strengthen up and get his reflexes top notch. Same with the rest of his Rogue Gallery (Spectra, Aragorn and Vlad excluded, of course). Yes, even Walker becomes more lenient once he becomes aware that Danny knew nothing before Skulker's lecture (the discovery still comes after the debate of the possessed Major, though).

Danny, being the Clueless One, never notices the shift of perspective and his "enemies" not going full power against him anymore, so this is still funny.

At long last, Val my gal at Full Powaaaaaa!

The initial reasoning for Val taking so long to reach her full potential came from a brainstorming sesh on the EI server with the other artists, because I had no Idea how to design the Final Form.

Everyone had their interests and quirks fitted in their outfits and designs, but Val was just in an alt version of her Huntress suit! ( ≧Д≦)

Due to poor show planning choices, canon Valerie Gray has no interests, hobby or little details to make her a well-rounded character other than a martial art expert who could kick your ass into the next week and used to be a snob/A-Lister.

Yes, that made her a blank slate to paint in any way I desired, but it was completely unfair to her!

But then @faerynova gave me the nudge I needed to think deeper into her character:

consider: valerie herself doesn't know because she painted her entire identity around being an a-lister and fitting in and then around revenge and by god does she need to sit down and figure out what she enjoys and how to enjoy things for herself

That made me think back of a past fic of mine, where Val's Grandma was from New Orleans (thus the jacket and the tignon headwrap).

AND THEN!

Valerie Gray is a Pro with her Hoverboard. It wouldn't be too much of a leap for her to start skateboarding for a challenge, since the laws of physics are more pressing with "analogic" tools instead of "cheating" with ghost-related ones.

So, Skater Girl Val! 🙌

As for Tucker, like I said in the previous post, this was his original-do, because my man deserves his past power-ups to be recognized!

And last, but not least, Jazz!

She's a teenager, she deserves to act and look like it!

Thus Ember-style makover, still retaining her science roots and interest, but not chained by them.

The first drawing I made of the Magical Girl AU were Sam and Tucker's Final Forms on my sketch pad, just for fun. But then I realized that I could use them for @ecto-implosion!

...But things escalated quickly after that. (^～^;)ゞ

A clear image of what I wanted to do popped up in my mind and then from the first duo, the Team gained members and got bigger and the concept of not being at full power took hold and then...!

@ikiracake and I worked together for this year's @ecto-implosion ! Thank you for choosing me! (ﾉΦωΦ)ﾉ

It was such an amazing experience and while at first the project seemed relatively simple, the plot inspiration bunny evolved into a fluffy hydra that will be published into three separate posts for each chapter update.

Be sure to check the phic, Ikira did such an amazing job and deserves the recognition, so gogogogo!

Under the cut, some trivia for y'all delight!

@tourettesdog's Little Baby Man took residence once again in my brain and decided he wanted to become the mascot of a team of magical girls! And, of course, Dani didn't want to be left out, so she got her own little baby form (again)!

The crystals at first were intended to be similar to a gem/crystal formation, but nothing I was dishing out satisfied me at first, so I went treasure hunting on google and inspiration hit me: since the ribbons are moth-like, why not using a cocoon-like gem as if it was a Swarovski? (Thank you @teacupsandstarlight for rubber-ducking me for those irl.)

It was Ikira's idea to make Dani's theme color lilac and I ran away with it like a chipmunk on cola, so thank you again!

Hope y'all looking forward tomorrow's update, things are gonna become... interesting...
