it is truly terrifying how easily one can lose what little financial security they have. but here i am. it is incredibly hard for me to ask for help as i already asked for help several times due to my not having a job previously. but this job i have doesn’t even help me keep my head above the water (as of last week). I am desperate and since some people want to help, here are the details of my situation:

I have £2.500 worth of debt, because I took debt from my bank to be able to afford things after getting my job. Currently I am earning just a bit above the minimum wage which equals to £580, even though I am an English teacher. On top of the insufficient salary, the school keeps cutting big amounts from my salary and giving my being sick for too long (7 days in total since August) as an excuse. And right now I am unable to pay off my debts and am under an incredible amount of stress. My one month’s worth of salary amounts to next to nothing when considering the fact that I have a cat to care for and my parents don’t help me financially despite us living in the same house. Of course this is no one’s problem but mine but since some people are willing to help, I thought I might explain myself. @angstosaur will help me receive the donations as I don’t have direct access to PayPal due to my country’s policy. Any amount helps the weight getting lift off of my shoulders. Boosting this helps, too. Thank you so much for offering to help. I feel held and protected by all of you.

Hello. Your Come (Back) to Me fic was one my most memorable fics. Will you make a fic rec list of some of your most memorable fics and why you enjoyed them.

Thank you so much for this. I'm very proud of Come (Back) to Me. I've loved "Somewhere in Time" for as long as I love VC, 30 years now. That epic love story merged with Loustat just wrote itself and to know that people derive joy from it makes me feel so so happy!

Memorable fics rec! The most important thing I find for why I love a fic is when I can feel that it is written with respect and love for the characters.

So I'm listing the fics this way:

1. Loustat Human AU that stay firmly in character. When you read, and you can hear their true voices and believe their actions to be those of Loustat's.

@angstosaur Star-Crossed Lovers my first ever human Loustat fic. Lovely.

@riley-beautrelle Perfect Loustat met up in a holiday spot and true to character, fall head-over-heels for each other big time.

dolphinspirit I Hate You But I Love You More Loustat working on marriage, so much love, growth and healing.

2. Loustat fics that are absolutely hysterical (sometimes OOC) but so well-written with so much love and knowledge of VC (I absolutely adore funny Loustat)

I really don’t have a list of favorite fics; however, I managed to bookmark more than 100 during my time on ao3, and they are ALL kinds of fics: show fics, book fics, perhaps even movie fics, RPFs, and crossovers.

As you seem to be mostly interested in show fics, I must say that the more time passed since the first season ended, the fewer fics based on the show were available. Authors developed their fics with more courage. And good! You wouldn’t have any Louis/Armand fic if you only followed the show canon… Or Armand/Daniel. Or any other pairing. Authors are so amazingly creative, and although I was skeptical in the beginning, too, I find human AU fics as interesting and compelling as these that stick only to show/vampire ones.

However, you asked for a list of preferably show fics. So here are some I can recommend with all my heart. There is no order here. I will also not tell you why I liked them because… they’re just so delicious! These authors did an incredible job. I know that they repeat, but what can I do? They’re great!

I've never done a fic rec list before but A Meal to Remember seemed like a good opportunity to start. In no particular order.

One of our reportes is missing by angstosaur. IWTV crossover with The Newsreader. Rated M. Louis/Lestat/Armand, Helen/Dale, Dale/Tim, Helen&Tim.

Louis sees Dale Jennings on the News and travels all the way to Australia to figure out what the hell Lestat is up to now. Obviously the logical way to go about this is break into the guys appartment and kidnap him.

This is just the best thing I've read in ages. The epic clash of firmly rooted in reality Newsreader and 'consequences aren't real if you're immortal' vampire world should not work as well as it does and it's a real joy to read. I particularly loved how beutifully the relationship between Tim and Helen was handled, as well as Louis getting to know Dale and seeing a lot of similarities between them I didn't expect to be there vs the chaos thrupple at peak insanity being generally horny and incompetent. It also has one of the greatest entrances of a character I've come across in a long time.

Renaissance by siahatha. Post canon. Rated M; Louis/Lestat

Louis and Lestat trying to make their relationship work in the modern day after Lestat spend a few decades in therapy. Louis still has some ways to go in that regard.

Deals a lot with Lestat's mania and Louis eating disorder. Also involves some genderfuckery.

Something about this one just really grabbed me. There are a lot of really cute moments that just show really well why Loustat are so great when they work and the heavy moments scatch that itch of 'why can't they just talk to each other' by putting them in a place where they can do that while still being true to their characters.

Practical Ethics by @prouvaireafterdark. Human AU. Rated E; Armand/Daniel, Louis/Lestat.

The famous Ethics Professor Louis fic. I tend to think of it as the Philosophy Student Armand fic but, eh, semantics.

So much fun to read and such a great set up. Strikes the perfect balance of keeping the characters who they are, especially with regards to Armand and his trauma, while toning the insanity to levels that wouldn't get them institutionalised in the real world.

And what I thought was gone by @nalyra-dreaming. Reunion fic. Rated E; Louis/Lestat.

Basically the part of TVL between Lestat putting out Rock videos and Louis coming to him from Louis perspective, set the amc universe. And then the reunion.

Nalyra has such a great way of getting into these character's heads. The journey from Louis thinking Lestat is still dead to realising he isn't to getting his hands on the videos and the book to finding him to them talking things out is so beautiful and emotional.

The Human Perspective by @bandedbulbussnarfblat. Part 1 of The Human Condition series. Rated T; Daniel/Armand.

Armand talks to Daniel about a mortal he once loved, whose memories he had to take so he could live a life.

Another one that hit me right in the feels. The longing! The dramatic irony! Having Daniel comment as an outsider on his own relationship is such a clever thing to do and very well executed.

Human AU. Rated E. Louis/Lestat.

Just Louis and Lestat being Louis and Lestat really. And Claudia. But make it human.

That is really the best compliment I can give: If those two were modern day humans this is what their relationship would be like: chaotic, toxic, destructive, co-dependent, full of issues, hang ups, addictions and love bordering on insanity. And brilliantly done, too. Pretty much all the trauma is acounted for and makes sense (in a human context), we get differnt POVs all perfectly in character and each giving interesting insights into their family and the different issues they run into over the course of their relationship.

The post was quite long so I decided to make a new one.

My result was: fire writer.

You burn. In the night, under the hot sun, you burn. You shine in the darkest nights, bringing to your readers an immortal fire.

No one is able to portray feelings better than you.

Emotions burn your characters, making them matches in dark rooms, lighting up everything, and burning from their own hands. Your best is shown in short stories, where the flames of your character's souls can burn brighter than ever, and become ashes.

Your stories hold the most passionate love, soft sighs whispered against a lover's skin, and the neon lights of a night club. Pain is your second name, and you don't mind it.

Wars, betrayal, yearning, a/b/o and enemy to lovers are your favorite tropes.

But when you decide to comfort, the fierce fire that burns in vour soul becomes the warm hug of a blanket in a cold day. Established relationships, per-relationship fluff and medical fics are great at showing this softer side of you.

Keep burning, and show everyone how hard a fire can burn, even in the coldest of the nights.

Honestly it’s accurate for me. I love to write feelings and express them intensely too.

You know, I've read fanfiction for every fandom I'm in except this one. (There are expectations to this. Looking at you @angstosaur ❤️) And I have to say one thing in favor of Anne Rice's fanfiction ban. It has kept this fandom, and these characters, pure for me. I don't have fanfiction plots muddying the canon between real and not real. My opinions and feelings on and for the characters come straight from the writing of Anne herself.

There is something very beautiful about that.

And it makes Armand writing self insert Lestat fic insanely funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
