Considering the catastrophic ruling from the supreme court on Friday, I want to make it VERY clear to anyone following me that I am Pro-Choice, and support a persons right to choose no matter the reason.

If that upsets you and you approve of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, please unfollow/block me now. You can save the biblical versus for your FB bible study group. Just leave.

Now, If you are equally as devastated as myself about the decision to take away the bodily autonomy of millions, please consider donating to the large number of abortion advocacy groups on the national, state and local levels. Also, don't forget about the BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ groups who will be disproportionately affected by this decision.

ALSO, please start paying attention to your local and state politics. Things are about to get scary and staying informed and staying involved is the only way we can advocate for ourselves. It sucks but its true, a radical religiously biased political party has been carefully hijacking our democracy for decades (at least), we have been seeing the fruits of their patience in the last few years with political attacks on the BIPOC community, LGBTQIA+ community (especially Trans individuals) and they aren't slowing down. Nobody is going to come save us, specially since we the people are at war with our elected few (and some people like the judges on the supreme court aren't even elected). We are witnessing the same kind of hostile nationalist regime takeover that germany and italy saw take hold after ww1. This is a very dangerous time for so many people in our country, and not knowing whats happening or going to affect you makes you more vulnerable to attack.

I needed a safe place to vent where real people can hear me. I am hurting. I am sad. I am angry. Most of all, I am just broken. My ex-husband (Pj Dickerson) left in November 2019. Separation lasted only 4 months and before I could blink our divorce was finalized and we were over. Back in October things started to change dramatically. I found that he wasn’t being faithful to me and as a result he was asked to leave our home. I offered forgiveness many times during our separation; instead, he chose to end our marriage. I hate who he has become and all that he's put me through.I hate myself for not seeing this coming, or ignoring the signs. The rejection has been almost unbearable. I sacrificed so much during our 9 years together. I sold things, lost things and time. I loved with all of my existence. I have such low self esteem after this experience and my worth has been devalued. Where do I go from here and how do I make myself stop obsessing over the loss and move on? This shit is crazy. How do you accept things when you can't understand them? I’m ruined.

Female fans deserve better from the Riverdale writers

I know Riverdale is a shitty, campy, ridiculous show. That’s what I signed on for. What makes me angry, is when shows like this use “it’s just a TV show/fiction/fantasy” as an excuse for sexist, racist or homophobic writing. What straight, white and/or male writers don’t get is that these sexist, racist and homophobic issues are not fiction.

Archie gets attacked by a bear? Weird, but okay. Jughead fights a Gargoyle King? No one else is, so fine. This doesn’t stress me or other viewers because no viewer (or at least very few) have to deal with that shit in real life. This is where white men get to have “fun” in fantasy and walk away if they don’t like the plot.

Women don’t have the luxury of cancelling Netflix to avoid with sexism. PoC can’t turn off racism like a TV. LGBTQ+ folk can’t just watch a different show to avoid being bullied.

When I see female characters I love grow out of misogynistic expectations, only to get punched down again to suit a male fantasy under the guise of “emotionally sorting herself out” or being punished for wanting sex, independence and a career, when she should have been a chaste/silent/obedient good girl who settles for being the dutiful housewife of the patriarchal approved “nice” guy (aka what Barchie would be), all in the name of “drama!” Yeah, it’s going to upset me.

It’s not just about shipping. I’d be okay with Bughead breaking up and Betty going off in the world and hooking up with some random dude in the 5 year time jump before going back to Jughead. I don’t really want it, but whatever. White boys often struggle with creativity, so I’m always expecting predictable, hack, cliches from them.

The way Riverdale has been set up, the feminist symbolism of Betty breaking free of Archie has been set. The show cannot make Barchie happen in a way that wouldn’t be a misogynistic step back for her character. Her motivation to leave Jug for Archie at this point wouldn’t make sense other than the male writers mansplaining it as “Bitches be crazy and unpredictable! LOL.”

As a female fan I’ve been burned repeatedly by male writers who con, gaslight and degrade me and my gender as viewers. The male writers and Archie comics can troll and laugh about it because they don’t have to suffer through everyday sexism.

If I see Betty’s character getting sacrificed or belittled, it’s not just about signing out of Netflix, because it reminds me of all the times that day, that week, that month, that year, that I’ve been belittled, passed over or harassed by men. When I’ve been literally or figuratively shoved to the side or expected to be someone I’m not because some white dick thinks they’re better or smarter than me.

I’m sick of women’s drama being about love triangles and figuring out who to love until a man tells her. I’d rather women fight a bear or a gargoyle king. That way we can have fun and enjoy the camp of the show and actually escape from our struggles. Instead, white male writers see these struggles as entertaining fun to troll and mock their female fans and put us in our place.

It’s disgusting, and quite frankly RD writers and Archie comics owe their female followers a huge fucking apology.
