I loved the child! Reader, you did and wondered what the characters' first response or reaction was to the fact that their guiding light was actually a kid, still under the age of 10, and still too young to be reading or watching something like Bungou Stray Dogs.
There, enjoy.
Finding out, that you are a child
Self-Aware! Platonic! BSD Characters x GN! Child! Reader
Bonus: Self-Aware! Platonic! Dazai Osamu x GN! Child! Reader x Self-Aware! Platonic! Chuuya Nakahara
Tumblr media
Connected to this oneshot.
Warning: Soft Platonic Yandere. OOC. Mention of stalking. Two swear words. English is my second language.
Recently, you got a habit to talk with BSD Characters every time you open the app. It makes you feel, like you have friends.
Today was your birthday, so you decide to tell BSD cast about the presents, you got.
__________
In the app.
__________
Katai, Ango and Fyodor finally managed to hack the camera on your phone. Today, all of them will finally see Their Guiding Light.
All of them gather in a meeting room. The Special Screen, that they use to browse the Internet with you, was put on the wall. On this screen, they will see your face today. They were waiting for you to open the app.
The moment has come.
Their Guiding Light open the app. During the loading screen, they start talking. They sounded happy.
"Guys, it's my Birthday! I wish, you can see, what I get today!"
The Screen shines. And then they saw you.
A kid. You were a kid. No older, then ten-year-old.
With bruises on their wrists.
BSD cast were silent.
Their Guiding Light were still talking.
"Guys, look, I got a sketchbook on my birthday!"
You "show" them a cheap sketchbook.
"I already draw something there"
You open the first page.
A group portrait. A childish drawing. All of them. With you, standing in the middle. All people on the drawing were smiling.
"This is us. All of us are friends."
The Gang was silent. Meanwhile, you open the next page.
Another drawing. Dazai and You. Dazai was protecting you from three monsters. Two monsters were big. Third monster were smaller, but still bigger than you.
The monsters were named.
Dad
Mom
Derek
"This is Dazai. He is protecting me. He is my guardian even now."
You take something from your pocket and show to them.
The keychain. Dazai's figure.
Dazai himself were looking at you with soft eyes.
Then, they heard the noise. Someone was knocking on your door.
"Hey, unwanted sibling! Are you finally have gone mad? Who are you talking to? To imaginary friend, like a baby?"
That someone laughed and left.
Then BSD gang heard you mumbling.
"I am not a baby. I am nine."
_____
You spend sometime talking about your day. When you closed the app, the first few moments in the app were silent.
And then the wall was broken.
______
🐾 They were concerned, that you are too young to learn about their lives. You are too young to learn about Mafia, killers, black market, terrorists and so much more.
🐾 But, they were more concerned about your life situation.
🐾 You saw your parents and older brother as monsters. Your brother calls you an unwanted sibling. You had bruises on your wrists.
🐾 Characters, that wanted to hurt you, before hearing your voice, already feel awful. Now, after they learned that you are a kid, they were feeling absolutely terrible.
🐾 All of them enraged. Especially Dazai.
🐾 After seeing his keychain with you, he proclaimed you his child.
🐾 They need to hurry. They need to save you.
🐾 They will be your new family. Family, that loves you.

__________
Before you got into their world
__________
You were watching Season 4 of BSD. Characters were sitting in the meeting room, watching it with you. They enjoyed your comments, even though, you have already read the manga, and they hear them.
You were watching the episode about ADA been chased by Hunting Dogs.
And then Chuuya Nakahara on the helicopter appeared.
"You have fucked up, Detective Agency!" said Chuuya on the screen.
The Cast heard a loud gasp. Dazai clenched his fists, he glared at Chuuya, that was sitting on one of the chairs.
"Mind your language, hat rack! There is a kid watching you!"
Chuuya snaps in return.
"Back off, Vagabond! Little Guiding Light are smart kid, they won't repeat bad words after us."
___________
Later. When you get into the BSD world
___________
You were sitting on the chair, between Dazai and Yosano. You were eating pancakes.
Meanwhile, Fitzgerald was using The Internet. He was doing something about transferring his money to the real world.
Fitzgerald growl.
"This Bank is awful. They lost the documents. Now, we have to wait another three days to try again."
You chew the pancake and asked.
"It means that They have fucked up?"
Everyone became silent. Dazai stand up with a loud gasp. He was looking at you, clutching his fists.
Oda tried to calm Dazai down.
In the next moment, Dazai was holding Chuuya down, his wrist was raised right above Chuuya's face. Dazai was still looking at you.
At the end, Oda managed to pry Dazai from Chuuya and you promised never say this word again.

teenager Reader who feels insecure about their scars for (yandere) oda ( yandere) ango and (yandere) dazai ( together platonic ofc and I would like for reader to be fem or gender neutral)
Tumblr media
TW: Gender neutral reader, swearing, yandere behaivour, implied kidnapping, I feel like Dazai was close to manipulating reader but bbg Ango saved the day.
Oda has been increasingly getting worried about you. Maybe it was just a teenage thing? But Dazai never acted like you were doing so queue worried father figure.
Ango on the other hand could care less are you dying? No? Then it doesn't really matter. He does care though he's too sleep deprived to give any fucks .
Dazai knows exactly whats going on. He knows everything about you and it's absolutely not creepy! He just really likes you to the point of not obsessing over you.
So when they all gather around to figure out what the hell is wrong with you well Oda and Ango try and figure it out Dazai is trying to brainstorm ideas on how to off himself. But he'll occasoinally put in some input.
And after 1 painstaking hour Dazai finally speaks up
"Oh is that what you're trying to figure out? Oh they're self concious cause of their scars." Dazai just smiles like he wasn't messing with them and that he deffintly only figured it out at that moment.
Shock.
Absoulte shock and then aggressive calling of you they were practically screaming for you to come to the Lupin.
You rushed there obviously thinking that something horrible happened but oh? But the trio where all there looking perfectly fine well as fine as they usally are.
"Why didn't you tell us? Do you not trust us?" Ango started giving you a worried mom look what is he talking about.
"I-" You were slightly confused but Ango continued "Is it because of Dazai?" You mean depending on what it was it could be but you decided to just say.
"Why would it be because o-"
"If it's cause of me I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you self concious about your scars Y/Nnnnn..!" Dazai says in an over dramatic tone.
"Be quiet." Finally someones on your side "They're obviously not gonna tell us." You were about to thank Oda but you got bandages chucked at your head. Wait..
"Here. Maybe you can use these? Out of sight out of mind.. Oh that was stupid sorry.." Oda smiled at you awkwardly it was nice of him you guess?
"But thoughtful~" You add on to what he said. "GASP Y/N has bandages are you gonna match with me are you are you are you?" Dazai picked the bandages out of your lap and started to unravel them "Can I put 'em on? I'm an expert y'know?" Dazai grins.
"Well I haven't decided yet..." "C'mon pleeeaasssee.?" "LEAVE THEM ALONE DAZAI" "Pleeeaaassseee Ango?" You tuned out the rest of the conversation but you felt a little more comfortable now with yourself , your friends, your everything. That's great anything to make you feel comfortable in one of their houses unable to leave. For your saftey of course.

Dazai X Odasaku!Sister Ch5
Tumblr media
Chapter 5: "Suddenly,Dying Doesn't Seem That Easy"
Summary: Ango shows up after telling Dazai to stay away Odasaku's little sister. Little does he know, the mafia executive didn't listen.
Warning: Lots of angst in this one, Odasaku death mentions, typical Dazai suicide mention, feels, Ango being protective mom, manipulative behavior from both sides. I gave Oda's sister a name but you can imagine it as y/n.
(This is chapter five of my fanfic "Timeless" which is now on A03. It carries on from the three part intro I posted a couple days ago. I'll link it below to fully understand the story.)
Three Part Intro Here: (just cause the first chapter is so long)
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
A03 Version Here:
Word count: 7k
Asagao felt her brain malfunction at the sight of her worst fear at the door.
And the minute she met Ango’s eyes, the girl could clearly see the frustration and anger that resisted in every one of his features. She didn’t need her glasses off to tell that he was pissed by her little “running away” joke three weeks ago.
In fact, their little interaction had been wiped clean from her mind until this moment, not bothering to think about the consequences of her actions. Well, crap. This wasn’t good.
She then watched the man open his mouth only for Asa to quickly gasp before shutting the door straight in his face comically in order to quickly turn around and hurry back into the living room where Dazai was waiting.
Lifting his head in her direction, he frowned when her hands were empty. “Where’s the food, Asa-chan? I’m hungryyy.”
Asa then ran a nervous hand through her hair before pushing her own glasses up with a rushed reply. “Hey so ummm, hypothetically, on the scale from one to ten, how ruined would our date be if Ango showed up with like..oh I don’t know..fifty government agents…?”
At that, Dazai couldn’t help but pause, his head turning in question. What was she saying? Ango was here? “That’s oddly specific..”
She then gave an over the top laugh in order to turn towards the kitchen and throw open the nearest window before placing her foot halfway outside with a shaky smile. “Ha ha ha, yeah I guess it is. You know what, never mind.. Everything is good, great even! Now if you don’t mind me, I’m gonna jump out this window real quick for no apparent reason. Okay, bye…”
Yet just as soon as she finished that sentence, the front door seemingly flew off its hinges in order for a hoard of government officials and the man himself to step inside the doorway without permission.
And with her foot halfway out the window, Asagao felt herself laugh at the ominous air in order to slip back onto the ground, her arms open with a nervous reply. “A-Ango! Hey buddy, my old pal how you been? We can talk about this, right? No need to be so mad, running away was just a little joke, I swear. You can take a joke right? You’re an understanding guy I’m sure of it.”
Unlucky for her though, the man was not understanding in the slightest, his steps firm in order to stare down at the foolish fifteen year girl. “Oda Asagao, you better explain yourself right now why you purposely have been leading me on a wild goose chase throughout this whole city to find you.”
Asa only fake gasped though, placing a hand to her chest in disbelief. “Whaa? I have no idea what you mean, I’m just an innocent little girl. How could I even do that?”
Deadpanning immediately, the agent then reached into his jacket pocket in order to pull out a stack of candid photos and show her in anger. “So you didn’t pay off over a dozen people with your brother’s money in order for them to dress like you and go to different parts of the city just to show up on security cameras?”
Three weeks, three weeks Ango had been chasing dead ends only for her to be at Oda’s apartment this whole time. He thought it would’ve been too obvious for her to have returned here but apparently not.
It was almost like she knew that hiding in plain sight was the best way to evade him. What a sneaky little girl. Odasaku never said anything about that.
Shifting her eyes away from the man, Asa then resisted the urge to cockily gloat about her successful red herring plot before leaning forward in a hopeful smile. “So let’s just say, if I did do that..would you be impressed by it?”
Ango only glared though, causing Asagao’s face to fall before putting two and two together. “Gonna take that as a no..”
Groaning at her casual tone, the man then stomped over to her in order to point a disappointed finger in her direction. “This ends right now. You’re going to..”
Yet that’s when his eyes couldn’t help but widen at the bandages around her arms and throat, his entire demeanor freezing before melting into pure concern. “Wait, what happened to your neck? Who hurt you?”
Asagao’s fingers then couldn’t help but touch the area before cursing to herself. She couldn’t tell him that she had been fighting, then she’d never hear the end of it.
Snapping her head up, Oda’s sister then gave a carefree chuckle before moving her hands around wildly in order to sweet talk her way out of the conversation.  “Ha ha, you know now that you mention it, it’s a great story, a really funny one actually. When you hear it you’re gonna laugh!”
Ango obviously didn’t believe that though, his lips pushing in with frustration before he roughly reached forward in order to grasp onto her bandaged wrist and pull her towards the agents and him. “Enough of your excuses, we are leaving right now even if I have to drag you all the back.”
Gasping at the contact, Asa whined back. “H-Hey..wait a second..”
No, he couldn’t pull her away like this, she wouldn’t let him. Not after she’d been so close to what she’d been desperately searching for her entire life.
Yet that’s when she felt someone unlatch the hold as her entire body fell backwards only for a strong pair of arms to wrap around her waist and pull her to his chest protectively.
Wait, she knew this bandaged hand anywhere.
Osamu.
And when Dazai spoke, it was full of teasing malice, lacing across his tongue with every word as he hugged her closer to him. “Ango, could you not touch my girlfriend so casually?”
The two then watched as the poor government official tried to put his words together, his lips opening with pure disbelief for what he was saying.
He had to have heard that wrong, right? There was no way that’s what he said.  “D-Dazai? What are you doing here…and what do you mean by that..?”
The boy only smirked though, moving his hand up to Oda’s sister’s shoulders in order to sling his arm over the surface with a carefree manner. “It means exactly what you think it means. This little darling and I have been official for three weeks already.”
And the look of horror on Ango’s face was a sight to behold indeed. So much so that Dazai couldn’t help but revel in it. He couldn’t help it, after betraying their friendship it felt good to see him so distraught by the idea of him “dating” Asagao.
Turning towards the devious mafioso, the agent glared at the depravity. “You..I told you to stay away and this is what you do? Is this some sort of punishment for what I did to the port mafia?”
Although he would’ve liked to be true, Dazai knew it wasn’t. Hell, if Asagao hadn’t approached him all those weeks ago then he would’ve kept his promise to stay away. It was her little bet and agreement that got him to stick around.
Pouting his lips innocently, he then trailed his fingers down to her Asa’s waist before pulling her closer to him. “Aw, don’t look at me like that. Not at all, besides I wasn’t the one that asked. That was all Odasaku’s precious little sister’s doing.”
Then all at once, Ango’s fury seemed to shift, his glare moving to the girl in question. “A-Asagao, what is the meaning of this, is he telling the truth?”
The girl didn’t stutter though, she didn’t make up some kind of excuse, her body still as she allowed Dazai to possessively claim her. “Yeah, I asked him to be my boyfriend.”
She then watched Ango’s lips fall open with disgust as he ran an anxious hand through his hair before groaning. “This is worse than I thought..what were you thinking Asagao? Dazai is the worst person for you to be around. He is a bad influence, you should know that better than anyone.”
Asa only scoffed though, rolling her eyes in the process. “Okay mom..”
Who did he think he was, her brother? This guy may have been Oda’s best friend but she didn’t owe anything to him. He didn’t even know why she was doing all this.
But to Ango, the man only saw an unruly fifteen year old girl, disobeying and acting out with an attitude that made him unexplainably furious. No, this needed to end now. He needed to make her see that Dazai Osamu was the worst possible option for her.
Feeling his voice raise, the agent then turned towards the silent mafioso before lifting his hands out in exasperation. “I’m being serious! He’s incapable of caring, he’s just using you and you are letting him.”
Ango knew Dazai insanely well after all. He had drank with him and heard all of his fucked up stories and viewpoints. The guy was a monster, a demon and though it fit in the port mafia setting perfectly, here it was not warranted.
But the problem was, he couldn’t turn it off. He knew the boy couldn’t. He manipulated everything and everyone in his entire life. He wasn’t the kind boyfriend that he was probably pretending to be for her. She had to see that.
Narrowing her eyes at his words, Asagao replied shortly. “Okay, and?”
Ango couldn’t help but freeze at that. Why did it sound like she already knew about his intentions? What did she mean by that? Did she not care that Dazai was using her for his own selfish whims? He thought she had more self respect than that.
Feeling himself unravel ever so slowly, the agent shouted back in disbelief. “A-And?! Are you even hearing yourself? It's one thing to come to Yokohama uninvited but now you’ve gone so far off the deep end.”
He was speaking like this was the end of the world, like her dating Dazai was armageddon and Asa found it annoying. “You’re overreacting, Ango. It’s really not that serious.”
The bandaged executive then chuckled to himself, before enjoying the pure fury in his eyes as he brushed his fingers up and down Asagao’s side with a hum. “Yeah Ango, lighten up.”
Glaring at the two kids, the man’s eyes then flashed towards Dazai’s fingers before looking back towards the mysterious bandages he had spotted before.
And when he spoke, it was dark and accusatory. “Then tell me what happened to your neck.”
All at once, Asagao felt her eyes widen as Dazai’s hand couldn’t help but pause as well, his fingers turning stationary as memories of the night played in each of their minds. He could still feel his fingers on her throat, whether he wanted to or not.
Placing a nervous hand to her injury, Asa stuttered back. “Uhh well…that is..”
Ango cut her off immediately, seemingly already knowing the truth. “Dazai, did you do it?”
He then turned towards his old friend only for him to visibly allow his hand to fall from Asa’s side in visible guilt. What could he even say to that? He had put those marks there, and for once Dazai wasn’t proud of it.
Although that’s when Asagao frowned in order to place a protective hand over his body, her fingers carefully keeping a distance so he didn’t tense up. “Hey, stop assuming things. It’s not Osu’s fault..I was the one that asked him to fight!”
Dazai couldn’t help but stare in disbelief at that, his throat twisting uncomfortably in reply. She was defending him. Why? He didn’t deserve that. He didn’t deserve her kindness.
Yet that’s when Asagao watched Ango’s face fall, knowing she had fucked up. “..Did you just say fight?
Already feeling the nagging coming, the girl then slapped her hand over her face before groaning. This is what she was trying to avoid. “Oh boy..here we go…”
It was too late to stop the oncoming storm though, the agent bursting at the seams for what he was hearing. “You fought with Dazai? You can’t be serious. Do you know what he could’ve done to you?!”
Dazai couldn’t help but chuckle at the accusation though, knowing that he was underestimating Oda’s sister exponentially. If only his old friend saw the sadistic look she gave him just hours ago. Then he wouldn’t be saying that.
No, even the mafia executive knew they were pretty evenly matched. “Actually Ango, Asa-chan here is a very talented lady. She got a few hits on me as well.”
Although that’s when he watched Asagao pause before shifting her eyes over to him only for a gentle grateful smile to cross her lips at the compliment.
Huh, she must’ve not been given her credit very often for her to have reacted like that.
Ango didn’t seem to share in the moment though, the man replying sharply. “I know she is, I saw her file before Oda asked me to erase it. That’s not the problem.”
Dazai felt his curiosity spike at that. Wait, Odasaku asked Ango to erase his little sister’s file? But he would’ve only done that if she had a list of crimes he wanted to disappear. But then that begged the question, what kinds of illegal things was Asa a part of as a child?
Asagao seemed to know immediately though, her shoulders turning tense as the agent continued roughly. “I know what you did as a child, Asagao. And now you're fighting again? Don’t you realize how bad that is? If you keep this up then you will..”
The girl’s eyes then flashed with realization before her lips curled into a lethal smile. “Oh, I get it. You’re afraid I’m gonna turn dark like Osu by hanging out with him. You’re scared of me and of what I can do. That’s why you brought in all these government idiots. What? Afraid I’m gonna snap? That I’m gonna join the port mafia? You’ve gotta be kidding me..”
And from the look on his face, she guessed completely right, the agent shaking his head in order to shout back with desperation. “I’m trying to help you, I’m trying to keep from being manipulated and turning back into a hellhound pet !”
The air turned silent then as Dazai tried to decipher the meaning. It was obvious that Asagao was professionally trained as an assassin from their fight, so much so that it seemed like her unhinged expressions were a part of that.
He had compared her to a crazed dog before so Ango calling her a “hellhound” wasn’t that far off. Was his theory correct? Did people seek after her for her talent? Did they also want her chained down and owned like he had briefly thought for a moment?
No wonder why Odasaku sent her away and kept her a secret.
Asagao didn’t react though, her eyes simply closing at the silence before she smiled back in a way that Dazai knew wasn’t completely authentic. “Yeah? Well, I didn’t ask for your help. So thanks but no thanks.”
The girl then turned around in order to escape further into the apartment only for Ango to call after her. “You know, Oda would be so disappointed in you for what you’re doing.”
Pausing for a moment, Asa then turned her head before snapping her eyes back to his. “No, Ango. I don’t know that. Thanks for the insight though.”
She then turned back only for Dazai to sense a change within her. Yes, on the outside she seemed calm but the boy could see the timer in each of her steps, like a bomb waiting to explode.
Ango kept pushing through, following after her as the various agents stood in silent wait. “Can’t you take anything seriously? Odasaku wouldn’t want this.”
Asagao only lifted her hand up, dismissing him completely. “Good to know..”
The man was furious though, not letting her escape. How dare she just walk away when Odasaku spent his entire life making sure she had a better one than him. “You know, by doing this you are disobeying his wishes and dishonoring everything he’s ever done..”
She then paused again, her lips turning up into another forced smile before pushing the thought away completely. “And you know what, we are not having this conversation..”
Dazai could tell though, he could tell that she was unraveling. She wore a smile, sure. But he had analyzed her for three weeks straight. He knew her better than she probably knew herself. And right now, Asagao was falling from that positive mask by the second.
If Ango pushed anymore, she’d surely snap.
And push he did, the agent only seeing disrespect in order for him to shout the worst sentence of all. “We will have this conversation until you understand that what you’re doing is disgraceful! You are making everything he did, every single sacrifice worthless. Do you even know what he had to do for you?!”
Just then, every single unpleasant and tortuous memory crashed into her mind in order to feel that same sickening reality that she had been trying to ignore this entire night.
He died because he took your place.
It’s your fault.
Gritting her teeth, Asagao’s smile then fell for a millisecond before she turned back to Ango with so much frustrated pain that it shook the entire room. “Of course I know!”
The two boys then watched as Oda’s sister chuckled to herself in order to run a frazzled hand through her hair, the girl’s smile shaking and snapping back into place, almost like she needed it to be there. “Fuck, Ango seriously? Why do you have to bring up shit I’m trying to forget. I spent all night trying to not think about it and you just had to ruin it.”
Shaking her head, Asa then added with defeat. “Of course I know that Oda sacrificed his entire life for me and I can’t even have the decency to remember his goddamn face.”
She then took in a shaky breath before pushing her arms around herself in order to hold her own misery together. “You think I asked for him to save me, you think I wanted to live my life with the guilt that he was suffering instead? He wouldn’t even tell me what was happening in his letters, he never let me in, not once...”
Her words came out so bitterly, so spiteful, like she blamed her brother for his inability to never let her share in his world. “His work, his life, everything I wanted to know about he kept secret. The only thing he talked about was Dazai, a complete stranger that I had never met before. Do you know how frustrating that is? Do you know how that feels? To not know your own family and yet know everything about a boy who doesn't even know you exist?”
At that, Dazai couldn’t help but widen his eyes. She just called him by his last name. That was the first time she had ever done that. It sounded so distant, so strange. He didn’t like it. He didn’t like being so far away from her comprehension.
But he supposed that’s why she said it. He didn’t know her until recently, she was a stranger to him until she showed up at Oda’s apartment. She must have felt betrayed, having only heard about him and not the family she so desperately wanted to be close to.
Why, why did Odasaku only speak about him? Why was Dazai the only person that Odasaku had let be a part of her life? He didn’t know and he feared he would never find the answer.
Ango only looked stunned though, causing Asagao to scoff before pointing an accusatory finger in his direction. “Of course you don’t, because you had the luxury of actually knowing him. You knew him so well and I still don’t even know if he ever resented me..”
Her voice then fell off then, realizing the weight of her words only for Ango to lift his hand out with sadness.
Did she really think that Odasaku hated her? Didn’t she know how much he loved her? “Asa..”
She only slapped the affection away though, her voice bitter. “You know, maybe he did, maybe he always hated me. Maybe he cursed my name for years after having to go through the torture that was designed for me..”
Placing a hand to her bandaged neck, Asa then frowned in memory. “You may see my actions as reckless decisions but the only things I’ve ever had from him are feelings, fragments of who he was. The nostalgic adrenaline when I fight, the promises of fragile positivity, without that I had nothing, he gave me nothing else to cling to..”
She then paused before turning her sad eyes towards the brown haired boy across from her before speaking softly. “Expect Osamu. He gave me Osamu, and I damn well am not about to let him go just because you say so. Even if his only reason to stay is to use me and throw me away, it doesn’t matter. He can do as he pleases..”
Placing her hand gently to her chest, she then began to smile again, except this time it seemed a tiny bit more genuine than before. “Because he gives me stories, memories that are so cruel and yet so beautiful, just out of reach from what I can comprehend. But I try my best to because anything is better than those broken fragments I was forced to cling to for my entire life..”
And Asagao believed that with her whole entire heart. She was using Osamu to find her brother, that much was already established but just having him stand by her side brought a sense of calm she didn’t know she could feel until three weeks ago.
Just his very presence was enough to make the loneliness in her heart dissipate. He didn’t even have to do anything, he didn’t even have to be kind to her or look at her other than a stranger. As long as he stayed by her side for a little while, then she would be alright.
She would never receive another letter from Oda now that he was dead, which meant that Osamu was the last remaining thing she had to him.
So much so that she was dependent on him. Not by his actions or words but rather by knowledge that he existed, that he wasn’t just some sort of fantasy Oda constructed in his mind. He was tangible and real, and that meant everything to her.
He meant everything to her.
Dazai on the other hand couldn’t help but be stunned by the admiration she spoke so openly. Sure, she wasn’t attached to him as a person, that was certain.
It was more of the concept of him that made her so grateful. She was just happy to have something constant and nostalgic in her life.
Hell, if Odasaku had mentioned Ango instead of him in those letters then he was sure Asagao would’ve been clinging to the agent instead.
But it was the fact that it was him , the fact that out of everyone in the entire world she had put so much devoted feeling into a broken sad suicidal boy like him was unbelievable.
He didn’t deserve that kind of praise or honor. Anyone would've been a better companion when she was a child.
How ironic. All throughout his entire life Dazai felt alone, he always felt suffocatingly insignificant, like nothing would ever change if he disappeared one day.
But it seemed like that wasn’t true. Because somewhere across the world there was a girl that depended on his pathetic little life like a vice.
She didn’t care what he said or did. No. Asagao only cared that he was alive, that he stayed alive and woke up the next morning. It was an insignificant yet hard thing for Dazai to grasp, the realization that he did matter to someone this entire time.
The feeling was overwhelming, so much so that the boy didn’t know how to take it.
And though it didn’t change his desire to leave this world painlessly, he now knew the truth.
Suddenly dying didn’t seem so easy anymore.
Giving a heavy sigh, Asagao then dropped her hand before turning her gaze back towards the stunned agent. “I wouldn’t expect you to understand, Ango. I wouldn’t expect anyone to understand…”
She then sucked in another shaky breath before lifting her hands out in sad defeat. “I know you two would’ve liked it better if he was the one alive right now instead of me but I can’t do a damn thing about it, okay? I’m sorry life didn’t work out the way any of us wanted..”
Closing her eyes in pain, Asa then whispered brokenly. “..I’m sorry I survived and he didn’t.”
It was a reality she didn’t want to face and yet it was so hard to ignore all the same. She wasn’t Odasaku, she was just a discount dollar store version of what both of them wanted. She as a person didn’t matter and the only reason either of them cared was because her big brother's blood ran in her veins.
Oh, how disappointed they must have been to be stuck with her instead.
Then before either of them could blink, she disappeared from their sights before they heard the front door slam as the government agents pulled out their weapons and tense. “Sir..”
Ango only put a hand up though, his voice barely above a whisper. “Let her go.”
The agent’s then relaxed only for Dazai to see his old friend’s shoulders sag with a broken mutter in order to speak out to an invisible force. “Odasaku, what do I do now?”
Closing his eyes at the sound of Oda's name, the mafia executive then sighed before looking towards the front door silently. It seemed like neither of them knew what to say now.
And Ango was at an absolute loss. He was never good with kids and Asagao was no different. He pushed too hard and assumed so many things and it only drove her away. He just wanted to protect her like his best friend did, he wanted to take over that role. Was that so bad? To carry on Odasaku’s legacy?
Although that’s when the man watched as Dazai simply shoved his hands in his pockets before moving back towards the living room only for the agent to frown at his disregard for the situation. “Dazai, where are you going?”
The boy only narrowed his eyes though, his voice distant. “Work.”
Scoffing at his vague tone, Ango then turned towards the kid with disdain. It was just as expected, Dazai didn’t care about any of this. He didn’t care that Asagao was falling apart or that she had just confessed that he had always been her lifeline.
He was just as cruel and inhuman as he remembered.
The agent then balled his fists before speaking out towards the seemingly detached boy. “Do you know where she could be going?”
At that, the boy then paused before turning back to Ango in order to shrug his shoulders absentmindedly, his eyes holding something other than just truth.
“Who knows.”
-----
To say that Dazai went back to the port mafia was a flat out lie, one that he couldn’t show in front of Ango. Maybe on any other day he could’ve dismissed what had happened tonight but for some reason the fifteen year old kid felt his feet move towards somewhere else entirely.
The truth was, the boy knew exactly where Oda’s sister was the moment she left. He could read her after all. In fact, it was fairly obvious to anyone that had been paying attention.
But his reasons for lying to his old friend stemmed from the uncertainty of Ango taking her away from him. He was selfish after all, and though it was better for her to go, Dazai felt himself cling on even so.
Pausing in order to look out towards the familiar rooftop view of Yokohama, he found the spot where Asagao and him had spoken three weeks ago before shoving his hands into his pockets with a sigh.
He could almost picture her foolish goofy face as she placed that bet for him to be her boyfriend. Back then he agreed as a joke and yet here he was, still occupying the title, even if it was just in name only.
Gazing around the area, the bandaged boy then found what he was looking for, her small frame curled up by her knees in order to sadly gaze at the sunrise with that same distant look in her eye.
The one that showed when she wasn’t allowing herself to truly view the world.
And as he approached, it was obvious to tell that she had sensed him appear. Yet even so she still didn’t make a sound, simply staring ahead as her fingers squeezed her knees once more.
He didn’t say a word to her, only moving to her spot before Dazai slumped his body down so that his back was resting against his, his face unseen by the girl in question.
From this distance, the two couldn’t analyze anything about each other, and that’s exactly what Dazai wanted. For you see, he didn’t know how to comfort someone, he didn’t even know how to show the tiniest bit of sympathy.
The mafia had taught him to control, manipulate and exploit. They showed him the most effective way to skin someone alive and make them cry of forgiveness only to give no mercy.
But the one thing they didn’t teach him how to be is human.
Yet that’s when Odasaku’s voice rang through his mind once more, causing the boy to close his eyes in defeat.
Be a good man.
And then, he tried, speaking out into the air.  “He didn’t resent you.”
Asagao didn’t move though, allowing Dazai to continue as he thought about the soft smile he had seen time and time again. “Odasaku wasn’t that kind of man. He was kind, selfless, and even if you asked him not to save you he would’ve done it anyways.”
He then paused before absentmindedly shaking his head in response. This wouldn’t work. It didn’t matter what he felt about the man, she needed proof, she needed facts to believe that what he was saying was true.
Pushing his lips together in silent thought, the boy then smiled to himself, knowing exactly what to say.
She wanted to know about her brother's life, and he could give her that. “He took care of orphans in his free time and I always wondered why he wanted to waste his time with such sniveling brats. But now I can see why..”
Dazai then titled his head up before finishing softly. “They reminded him of you.”
It was obvious now, more so than ever before. Odasaku housed those brats because he was trying to fill some kind of hole.
Back when he was alive, Dazai never understood what caused him to start doing it, but now that Asagao was here it seemed like all the pieces had finally clicked into place.
Feeling himself grow nostalgic at his own words, he continued. “Me too, I think I reminded him of you also. That’s why he helped me, why he liked talking to me. He probably saw it as an extension of you in some way. Both those orphans and I, he took us in to feel closer to you..”
And that was always his greatest mystery, how Odasaku was able to handle such a destructive and detached child like Dazai. The boy always found it strange how he never ran away or looked disgusted by his actions. He always just gave him that same placid calm look, the one that made him feel just a little bit more normal then he actually was.
Perhaps that was because whenever the man looked at Dazai, he saw his sister in some kind of twisted way. He wished Oda told him that, cause now the kid had to go on never knowing if that was the truth.
Feeling his lips curve up into a sad smile, he then chuckled to himself. “And you know, it probably killed him not to talk about you, to brag about his cute little sister. Ango told me that he couldn’t help himself when he was drunk. That means that you were on his mind one way or another.”
He understood why he did it, why his friend kept her a secret for his entire life. It was the most logical way to keep her safe. He didn’t tell her about himself or his life because he was most likely afraid that Asagao would’ve followed after him. Then Oda would’ve had to live with the guilt of her being used and caged again.
And Dazai couldn’t blame him for it, he couldn’t resent him for such a thing. Although, it was obvious that the man probably didn’t know the consequences of his actions. That by pushing her away he had inadvertently damaged her in a way that couldn’t be changed.
Now his own sister was left to pick up the pieces that he had left behind, unable to ever find any definitive proof that he ever loved her.
But Dazai knew better, he knew his old friend better then she ever could. Which meant that the only one that could put her mind at ease was him. “But I knew him, and that man was incapable of hate, so I know he didn’t hate you..”
He then felt Asa lift her head from her knees, her voice shaky and uncertain. “Why are you saying this? You have no obligation to. This wasn’t a part of our deal.”
No, it wasn’t, but even still the boy continued to speak, unsure why he was doing so in the first place. “I don’t know, I just know he wouldn’t have wanted you to think like this. He wouldn’t have wanted to see you sad, to think he didn’t care about you..”
Because he did, he knew he did. Odasaku had to have loved his little sister.
He wouldn’t have done all of this work if he didn’t. He wouldn’t have written her letters or wiped her existence from the mafia or withheld anything to do with her if he didn’t care. Dazai truly believed that, and he wanted her to believe it also.
Reaching into his black suit pocket, the boy then pulled out his most precious possession before placing it on the grassy ground in order to slide it over for her to see.
He then watched Asagao slowly pick up the black at white photograph before gasping quietly at the sight.
It was a picture of her brother.
And not only that, it was a picture of both Dazai and Ango as well, all of them standing side by side with drinks in their hands as they looked towards the camera with expressionless confusion, like the badged boy had forced them into the position for fun.
And almost immediately, Asagao felt her eyes water, placing a finger gently towards her ever stoic brother with a shaky smile. So that’s what he looked like. He had grown taller than the last time she saw him.
But even so, the girl tried to hold in her tears, not wanting to shed such an unpleasant emotion and fail her brother’s last wish. “Just like when I was a kid..you still manage to bring me closer to him..”
At that, Dazai couldn’t help but frown, his chest filling with an unpleasant reminder of the type of faith she had in him. He didn’t deserve it, he wasn’t dependable like that.
Pushing his lips together in conflict, he spoke again, allowing the uncertainty to fill the air. “Odasaku should've picked someone else to talk about in those letters..”
It was a simple fact. Odasaku put so much time and effort into describing Dazai’s life only for him to plan to end it all as quickly as possible. He was a fragile promise, something that could not be trusted to stay in this fucked up world.
Yet that’s when he heard her voice, far too sweet and kind. “I’m glad it was you.”
The boy then felt himself crumble at that, recalling the promise that Oda had given him. How could she say that? Didn’t she know he was a failure? That he was dishonoring his best friend in the worst possible way?
And because his back was turned, Dazai spoke the truth, knowing that she couldn’t see his pathetically weak face from where they were sitting. “But I don’t even know what it means to be a good man..”
She answered then, her head turning up to rest on his shoulder as Dazai couldn’t help but tense at the touch. “Do you want to be?”
Looking away from the girl, Dazai then recalled the lingering feeling of his fingers on her throat before shaking his head sadly.
Of course he wanted to be. He wanted to make Odasaku proud, to have his death mean something. But that was easier said than done.
Perhaps he should just stop trying altogether. It would make things much easier if it was only going to end in failure anyways.  “It doesn’t matter, it’s impossible for someone evil like me.”
The air was silent then as Dazai waited for her to agree with him, to condemn him like he deserved for putting his hands on her, for disappointing her, for being unable to keep her brother's promise.
Yet that’s when she replied, the very words causing his dark thoughts to dissipate. “If there can be a possibility of evil then why can’t there be a possibility of good?”
At that, Dazai felt his eyes fall to his hands. How could she say that? Demons couldn’t be cleansed into angels, he said that before. Yes there was a possibility but it was slim, so incredibly slim.
Shaking his head, he responded automatically, already knowing the truth. “Because I’m…”
A demon, a monster, a killer, a liar, a controller, a manipulator, an exploiter, inhuman, incapable, deflective. There were so many ways to end that sentence and yet Dazai didn’t have the heart to use any of them.
Although that’s when Asagao finished his sentence. ”You’re Osamu, my boyfriend.”
Feeling himself pause, he then heard her smile through her words, looking up at the sunrise with knowing thought. “Maybe you just need someone to believe in the things you can’t see just yet..”
The things he couldn’t see yet? What was that supposed to mean? Was she suggesting that he needed someone to believe that he could be good? But no one would believe that, no sane person anyways.
So much so, Dazai smirked at the idea, knowing it was a fool's dream. “And what kinds of things are that, love?”
Yet that’s when he felt the pressure on his shoulder get heavy in order to hear the soft intake of breath from Asagao only for him to snort in reply. What an idiot, falling asleep on him so shamelessly.
Well, they did keep each other all night after all.
Debating moving so that she would wake up, Dazai then froze as Asagao’s sleepy voice coursed through his ears, causing his heart to strain without permission.
“Osamu..I think you’re a good man.”
Widening his eyes at her words, the boy then sharply turned only to find her completely passed out, like she had said them in her dream filled decision.
But even so, Dazai heard every word.
And though the boy was incapable of a lot of things, he wasn’t incapable of the overwhelming feeling of emotion that coursed through every single vein and muscle without permission.
She believed in him, she believed that he could be a good man.
Even when no one else believed, even when he himself couldn’t believe, she did.
It was a foolish statement, she was foolish for saying it but even so Dazai couldn’t help but lift his head up in reply, staring towards the blinding sunrise before shifting his gaze towards Asagao.
How dare she encourage him, how dare she give him the very thing he wanted to hear since Oda’s death. How dare she say such a foolish thing so casually.
And how dare she make him feel this way, so human.
So fragile.

Sakaguchi Ango SFW Alphabet
a/n: because I can :3 also just trying if this header thing works AHHAA what do you guys think?
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
I think he’s someone who sucks at giving affection simply because he gets too flustered when he initiates anything. Not to mention that he has a more than average amount of pride so he will be a bit hesitant at first. I think he’ll mostly be a gift giver because of how demanding his job is but he tries his best to make time for you.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Friend? Or nagging mom?
Just kidding, but seriously he'll be very adamant about certain things especially when it comes to your welfare and safety. Don't do reckless things, don't do this, do do that, etc.
I imagine you two would get close if for some reason your paths keep crossing. He enjoys your company and you enjoy his, then without knowing you become close friends. Just like that.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
He loves cuddles but he will never admit it – not that you want him to tell you anyway because it’s quite obvious he enjoys it.
Big spoon or little spoon, doesn't matter. But I think that usually he ends up being the little spoon.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
Oh yes he’d absolutely love to settle down. Having someone constant in his life is a blessing he desires so greatly, and literally having them by your side is a huge bonus.
Chores are fine, pretty average. I think he does better with more delicate tasks than ones that involve a lot of moving and carrying stuff around. He's not THAT strong and he's usually very exhausted.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
He'll talk to you about it in person. Like he'll actually set some time specifically to end things with you, presenting his reasons for doing so. The tone of his voice will remain constant - almost icy cold - but if you start crying it'll begin to break. It depends on the reason and situation as to whether or not he'll be honest about why he's breaking up with you - he might lie that he simply doesn't love you when in fact it's that he loves you so dearly that it's better if you're not associated with him anymore, for example.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
He takes commitment very seriously. He will not enter into a serious relationship without having some level of trust first with that person (or he would have had to be madly in love; or perhaps both). Ango doesn't commit easily but when he does, he gives everything he can - and he hopes it the same for you, too.
I think Ango would prefer if the two of you will end up married, being the more traditional sort of man that he is. But he'll only marry you once he's sure he absolutely wants to. He's in no rush to get married, and he wants to make sure that it's someone who's just as devoted to him as he is to you.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Ango is quite a gentle person, I think. His stern exterior is reserved only for work but otherwise he has no guts to hurt anyone physically or emotionally, all the more when it comes to you. He'll have his moments of spewing harsh words when he gets pushed over the edge, but that's about it.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Hug him. All the time. Please. He needs it, he wants it, he will die without them-
Just kidding. But in all seriousness there’s nothing more comforting that your warm embrace, so it's more than welcome in his everyday routine.
As I said earlier, he’d rarely initiate affection, but he thinks this is the “easiest” form he can give readily. He’ll hug you from behind, gently wrapping his arms around and squeezing your waist. This happens more often than you think.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
It takes time. A LOT of time. It takes several months (even longer than a year) before he says “love” instead of “like.” Given the nature of his job, betrayal and the like are common so he has taught himself not to get too emotionally attached to anyone.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
I think he gets jealous quite easily, but the intensity is low. Like the digits of pi out of 10, never-ending but low level...
Nah he’s not always on the prowl for people who might want to snatch you away. As long as there’s nothing for him to be worried about (and once he finally trusts you), he’ll only be mildly annoyed.
But let’s say you two are out and Ango leaves you for a moment, only to see that someone else is trying to get your attention. The most he will do is call out your name and bow with disgust to the stranger trying to flirt with you. He doesn’t like confrontation, what can I say.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
At first he’ll be a bit rough or stiff due to inexperience, so you’ll have to take lead most of the time. But once he's got the hang of it his kisses are soft and sweet, quick and light reminders of how much you mean to him. Ango likes kissing you on the cheek because it’s soft, and, in his opinion is “less embarrassing.”
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
He has a soft spot for them and he tries his best to get along with them, but I don’t think he adamantly wants to some of his own. They’re just really messy and rowdy so it can get on his nerves. If you really want to then that’s fine with him and he’ll absolutely love them more than anything else in the world.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
If by a miracle you're awake before he leaves, then you'll have breakfast together. Usually you'll have to do the food preparations since he's rushing about getting ready for work. But since he is in a rush, he's not too picky about what you serve. All he needs something to eat, his daily dose of caffeine, and a little time to appreciate you.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
If by a miracle you're still awake when he comes home, then you'll have a cuddle and/or chit-chat session. It'll all be in bed though because he's absolutely spent and he just wants to relax in peace with you. I'm willing to bet he'll sleep first every time.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
Again, things happen VERY slowly. His emotions are kept under lock and key, and they will be taken out and revealed to you one at a time. No peeking in said box of secrets.
He'll begin sharing trivial things about himself, then once he feels comfortable he'll gradually share hidden feelings and stories according to how "secret" they are, in increasing order.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
If they’re trivial matters he’ll let it slide. But if it has to do with your security and welfare, he'll snap at you quite easily and quite hard. There's already a lot of things on his mind so please don't make him worry about you more than he already does.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
Even if he has to acquire memories of a lot of things, he remembers everything important about you. Some details he may forget, sure, but when it comes to your feelings or other meaningful aspects of your life he will never forget them (even if you think he wasn’t listening at the time).
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
It would be the first time you held him in your arms.
It had been a succession of terrible weeks - yes, WEEKS - for Ango. Downright awful and horrendous. Nothing went smoothly and everything at work seemed to spiral down into insanity. How the heck was he supposed to keep up, given that his superiors were nutcases?
He had to cancel several of your plans and he felt like the worst partner for you even if you assured him that you understood his situation. He felt like shit in every possible sense.
Needless to say he was at a complete loss when you showed up at his door. What the heck were you doing here? You said you visited him this late at night out of sheer concern for the man. Had he been eating properly, if at all? What if he collapsed and needed medical attention?
He doesn't remember exactly how it happened, but soon you were on the couch - almost slipping from there, actually - your arms around his back and his face was buried in your chest. If he cried, he dare not remember, but it was your soothing presence that had touched him greatly. At that moment, he felt loved. You said nothing as you stroked his back, but he felt loved. From that moment on he knew he had fallen for you more than he ever thought he could, and that he would do his best to make you feel that much love as you showed him that night.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
Unlike a lot of other characters in the series, I don’t think Ango is much of a fighter. His intelligence is one of his strong points, but not to the level of scheming-ness Ranpo or Dazai has. So I think he'll have an "average" level of guard for you, since he trusts you anyway and he feels like there's not much he can do. He can only really rely on insider information and the occasional social network if necessary.
I feel like he doesn't want to be "protected" by you since again his job can be dangerous. He'd rather you protect yourself and he'll do his best to protect the both of you so that you two can live happily together.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
He wants to try, but a lot of what he does are more "simple" in nature. Time is something he's always short so he'll settle with doing what is necessary first, like everyday tasks - nothing flashy or intricate. The things he gives you, however, are extremely thoughtful (and occasionally extremely expensive lol).
I guess the best way to describe it is he acts more like a husband than a boyfriend when it comes to these things. You get me? :P
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
Ango has the annoying traits of an annoying old man. He was an old fart before you started dating and he will continue to be an old fart until his death. For example, he nitpicks on a lot of things from the way you put on your jacket to how you cleaned a dirty spoon, even if it's totally fine and not noticeable or downright unnecessary. He's also very reluctant to change one he's stuck on something, so good luck convincing him to try certain things.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
He’s not too concerned about what he looks like per se,but when he needs to look professional he wants to look his best. This also includes when you’re going on a date with him: he wants to look good for you.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
Yes. Absolutely yes. He will still miss you so dearly regardless of the reason of you leaving him. He’s unsure if he’ll be able to love someone else after having had you.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
It's canon he likes antiques but I headcanon that he adores music-related objects all the more. I feel like he has a collection of vinyl records, especially those that contain old music and are preferably second hand. And yes he does listen to them when he wants to relax.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
He hates disorder and smelly things. When it comes to his partner, he absolutely abhors betrayal (like cheating or suddenly changing affiliation or something similar, you get my drift?).
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
It’s either he’s alive or dead. There is no in between. So if you sleep on the same bed it feels like you have a warm sed(im)entary rock beside you.

Tumblr media
August was surprisingly chilling that year. The nights got colder earlier than anticipated, which caused nineteen-year-old Aira to wear a sweater that night.
It was the habit of hers to stroll around the neighborhood, she once used to live in. She used to, because her parents threw her off of the house the moment she told them she hadn't passed her Medical School entrance exam.
Yet, Aira Razuki couldn't entirely blame them for their decision; after all, they were struggling with money; her father was unable to work due to his sickness. It was obvious that they wanted their daughter to pursue the career that might have bought their tickets to the better place.
That’s why nineteen-year-old Aira couldn't see that her parents were simply exploiting her, not thinking about her well-being. That was exactly why she had the tendency to burrow herself in sorrow in pity after failing — even if it was just the tiniest inconvenience. She kept telling herself that if she wasn't enough for her parents, she wasn't also enough for herself.
Hence why she had found herself strolling around her old house once again this week — the need of validation.
She longed for her parents, their love, and them telling her that she was worthy to them. That was the only thing that teenage Aira wanted.
Normally, she would see the lights in the small, pastel yellow house. Sometimes she would even observe the silhouettes of her parents as they prepared themselves to go to sleep. Such thing gave her the sense of belonging and the hope of returning to them once more.
Yet the young girl hadn't known just then that today she was going to make a discovery. The the most raw, terrific and frightening discovery of her teenage life.
The lights were off. The front door was open.
Aira didn't know why she felt the burning need to step inside of the house. Taking deep breaths and praying that her parents were sound asleep and only forgot to close their door, Aira walked into the building.
"Mom? Dad?" she called, her voice cracking more with every syllable she spoke.
"Who are you?!" she yelled, noticing a young man with rounded glasses standing right in the middle of the kitchen.
"Oh, you must be their daughter," the man spoke. "I'm Ango Sakaguchi. I work in the Special Division for Unusual Powers," he explained, placing the briefcase he was holding on the kitchen counter.
"I-I don't understand," she murmured, shaking her head rapidly. "Wh-what are you doing here? Where are my parents?" she whispered with a terrified tone, taking a few steps back.
"Miss Razuki, I need you to stop walking," he spoke calmly, trying to stop her from entering the living room.
Dismissing his words, Aira run towards the other part of the house, trying to find her mother and father.
"Miss Razuki, I-!" Ango hadn't managed to finish his sentence. The loud scream of Aira filled the whole area, the next thing he noticed was her falling to her knees next to her parents bodies.
It looked like a complete massacre. The blood was splattered all over the walls and floors, furniture had been destroyed by the bullets, and the worst...
...the worst was the sight of her parents dead corpses, fully unrecognizable by the numerous gunshot wounds they had received.
"I-I-I...," Aira stuttered, her body unable to move. "Wh-Why...?"
"You see, Miss Razuki, your father has been diagnosed as a schizophrenic," Ango began to explain, standing right beside her. "But we both know it wasn't true, right, Miss Razuki?"
"He was gifted," she murmured, swaying her head back and forward. "He could talk to the ghosts and that's why he thought he was sick," she added, her tears completely covering her face.
"The Port Mafia wanted to recruit him but… as you see, there had been a shooting," he responded, helping her to get up.
"Why?" Aira sobbed loudly.
"That's why I'm here. We're still investigating it," he went on saying, not knowing that he had only worsen Aira's state.
Instead of crying she was about to become cathartic.
And then… she remembered.
"Okay. J-just don't write in that report of yours that I was there," she replied.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, Miss," Ango responded, glancing at her.
"Okay," she repeated, forcing a smile. "I'll be going then," she added and as soon as the government worker turned his back she grabbed one last thing from the crime scene.
An item that would remind her of that day from now on.
~.~
Aira stared at her own reflection after she put on the rectangular-shaped sunglasses. The sunglasses that belonged to a member of the mafia that was in her parent's house as the massacre happened.
Shaking her head and exhaling loudly, she drove to the Agency, getting ready for another day of paperwork. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, she arrived, sitting behind her desk after filling her cup with black coffee.
"Good morning, Razuki-san."
"Good morning."
"Hi, Razuki-san!"
"Hi, Kenji-kun."
"Morning, asshole. Care to join me shopping today?"
"I'm busy, Yosano."
It was just as always. Greetings, work, coffee refill, more work. Some might say that Aira's routine was boring, yet it wasn't the case. Repetitive tasks gave Aira the sense of security. Something, that was always going to be there for her. Something, that didn't necessarily involved others, making her feel control over the situation.
Just as needed.
"Razuki-san?!" The sudden voice of Atsushi banged through the walls.
"Sup, rookie?" she answered with a polite smile.
"Have you seen Dazai-san? He's not answering my calls," he replied panicked, showing her his calls history.
"It's not unusual for him to just vanish, you know?" she mumbled, dismissing the thought that something might have actually happened to him.
"Kunikida-san says the same," he sighed, completely unhappy with the outcome of their conversation.
"See? There's nothing to worry about," Aira smiled, taking a sip of her second coffee.
"But the Port Mafia is after him!" Atsushi called, showing how extraordinarily concerned he was.
"Will you be satisfied if I try contacting him?" she asked. Newbies were her soft spot.
"Please, do so, Razuki-san!" Atsushi glanced at her with the gaze of pure thankfulness.
"In the meantime, I think you should go to ask Doctor Yosano if she's up to something today," she whispered to him, trying not to laugh.
"Okay!" he cheerfully exclaimed, returning back to the main area.
"God, he has no idea," she laughed quietly, dialing Dazai's number.
He didn't pick up.
Aira tried once again.
No signal.
"Oh, come on, you man-child," she mumbled, only to spill some of her coffee on the floor.
What if Atsushi was right? What if Dazai was seriously in danger?
~.~
"You?!" Higachi yelled after seeing Aira sitting right next to her in the coffee shop.
"I'm sorry I lied to you. You're just the only mafia member, whose number I have," Razuki chuckled.
After Dazai hadn't picked up any of her eleven calls, she decided to see if Atsushi's suspicions were true. That was exactly why she called the blonde woman, who came to their Agency two weeks ago, only to lure Atsushi and the Tanizaki siblings to the trap. In the phone call before their meeting, Aira told her she was looking for a job regarding the Port Mafia. She had meet up with her to get the information she so badly needed.
"Look, I don't care what you're trying to do. I'm leaving," Higachi hissed angrily, but Aira's hand stopped her from standing up.
"Where's Dazai?" she asked without further do.
"I don't know what you're talking about," the other woman bluffed, turning her head towards the window.
"You're bad at it," Aira giggled, shaking her head.
"Wh—?"
"Lying," she whispered to her ear, after appearing right next to her as she used her ability to manipulate the time.
"I really don't—!"
"Don't make a scene," Aira added, placing her knife next to the woman's waist. "So? Where's he?"
"Even if I knew, I couldn't tell you." Higachi's answer was followed by her growl, after Aira adjusted the grab on her knife. "He probably has some unfinished business with Akutagawa-san!" she blabbered, not taking a look at the other woman.
"What do you mean?" Aira continued her interrogation.
"Don't you know? They used to work together," Higachi replied, a mischievous smile appearing on her face as soon as she noticed Razuki's expression changing.
"Oh? You really don't know," she laughed quietly, placing her hand of her gun after a moment of Aira's vulnerability showing.
"Dazai was..?"
"A mafia member? Of course," Higachi interrupted her, lowering her tone. "He was the right hand of the Boss," she whispered to Aira's ear, her voice full of maliciousness.
Dazai and the Port Mafia? The exact same Port Mafia that killed her parents?
No.
It couldn't possibly be true.
"If you excuse me, I'll be going," the blonde woman spoke, leaving Aira dumbfounded in the middle of the coffee shop.
What made him leave? Most importantly — what made him join at the first place?
Aira couldn't comprehend the words she had just heard. She wanted it to be a bad dream, but instead, it was just another raw discovery.
But then, her phone rang.
"Dazai?"
"I don't know what you're up to, Aira, but no. Not Dazai," Kunikida answered on the other side of the phone, completely frustrated. "Listen, I need you to help Yosano and Atsushi. There's a bomber in the train they’re in," he briefly explained, causing Aira to completely return to her previous state of focus.
"Send me the coordinates, I'm on my way."
~.~
Finding the train was easier that Aira thought it would be. Turns out, there was just a one of them being set on fire. Predicting the speed and time, she managed to calculate when the train would be arriving at the location of the bridge, Aira was meant to jump off of to get on it.
Just as she figured out, the train appear on the horizon. Without hesitation, Aira decided to jump, finding herself on its roof.
"Kunikida? Which wagon they are in?" she yelled to the phone, trying her best not to fall off of the train.
"Yosano's in..."
"Never mind, I've heard an explosion," she responded, quickly handing up.
With all of her strength, she managed to kick in one of the windows, safely getting inside. Making her way through two wagons, she rapidly opened the door, just to see Yosano's hand being pinned by the knife to the ground.
"Razuki!"
"Did you miss me, loser?" Aira smirked, interrupting Yosano's warning.
As another explosion happened in the place they were at, the woman in the burgundy coat waited for the flames to fill up the space, burning it to the core.
Through the pain and smell of burned flesh, she approached Yosano, noticing she wasn't breathing. Rapidly grabbing the other woman's arm, Aira flawlessly managed to retrieve their states to the moment from four second ago, leaving herself untouched, and Yosano with wounds and burns that were lethal, yet give her time to manage with them on her own.
"Are they deadly enough?" Aira grinned, having in mind Yosano's ability that allowed her to fix the body, but only where there was a possibility of dying.
"They're perfect," the Doctor smiled.
Not a second later, she was all ready to go.
"Do we kick their ass then?" Razuki cheered, rolling up her sleeves.
"Indeed, asshole," Yosano smiled devilishly. "Hide yourself, we want him to be surprised," she added and Aira simply followed her rules.
"Oh! I wonder if she's already nice and cooked!" the bomber exclaimed, approaching, what it looked like to be, Yosano's body. "Let's see—!"
With the two words spoken, Yosano punched the man straight into his face. Not a second later, Aira jumped off of the ceiling she was holding to, smashing his head on her own knee.
"Hmm, that was underwhelming. Don't you agree Razuki?" Yosano spoke, madness and blood heist painted all over her face.
"I think we could make it a bit more thrilling," the other woman grinned, kicking the man straight into his chest.
"On which side should I punch him now?" the Doctor asked, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.
"I-I-If I had do choose, maybe this?" he mumbled.
"Yeah, definitely the other," Aira smirked.
With that, Yosano sent the man flying across the wagon.
"I'm going to find Atsushi," Razuki said, patting the other woman's back. "Don't you think we make a great team?" she joked, not expecting her to answer.
"I've always liked you, Razuki. Don't know why are you biased towards me," Yosano answered, rolling up her sleeves as well.
"Because I'm jealous," Aira replied plainly, making Yosano's brow furrowed. "But that's a story for another time. Finish this bastard up!" she enthusiastically called, running out of the wagon in order to help Atsushi.
The chill went through her spine as she heard Yosano talk through the speakers. Atsushi's was about to detonate the bomb.
But then, it was like something had paralyzed her. The bomber turned out to be...
...a little girl.
"I don't want to kill anyone else!" she screamed, standing on the edge of the fully-opened side of the train.
"Atsushi! No!" Aira yelled, wanting to stop the boy from jumping with the bomber. "Atsushi!" she yelled once again as she saw him falling into the water, followed by the explosion later on.
As she had no idea what drove her to do this, Aira jumped right after them, meeting with the sea surface. Firstly, she tried to look for their bodies, yet she managed to exhale when she noticed Atsushi swimming up to the shore.
"Holy shit, kid! What was that?!" she screamed after she got out of the cold, salty water.
Instead of answering, Atsushi spited out the water and laid on the concrete of the bay.
"What was in that stupid head of yours that you've decided to jump?!" she scolded him, forgetting about catching her own breath. "What the... what were you thinking?!"
"She didn't deserve to die, Razuki-san," Atsushi answered with a weak tone. "Although she did so much bad things, she didn't deserve it, Razuki-san," he stumbled on his own words, desperately trying to bring his breathing back to normal.
"I get it, kid," she whispered.
He was right.
No one deserved to be judged based on their past.
Even that girl, even herself, even...
"Have you found Dazai-san?" Atsushi asked, completely changing the subject.
"Not yet," she responded honestly. "But I will. And I think I have a plan."
~.~
It wasn't hard to find Ango Sakaguchi's old workspace. Of course, Aira went on and used her ability more than she possibly should, but the outcome was just what she anticipated — she managed to discover the old basement, all of the Port Mafia's reports were located in. The reports obviously being written by Aira's one-time acquaintance — Ango.
"Excuse me? Who's there?" The voice of an old man rang through the room not later after Aira walked into it.
Hiding behind one of the bookshelves, she used Time-master once again, only to erase the man's memories of ever seeing her.
"Huh? I guess it's just my age," he joked to himself, closing the door of the books-filled office.
Trying to make as little noise as she could, Aira began to look for reports, starting from two years from now, hence it was the time Dazai had joined the Agency.
There was absolutely nothing in the records from four years back, but then Aira stumbled upon mentions of the killing of another organization's leader. Apparently that being the last thing Dazai was mentioned in.
What surprised her even more how his name was mentioned multiple times in the reports of the same week.
That meaning the number of people he had killed.
But Aira wasn't a saint as well. After all, she worked in place that focused on bringing peace. And sometimes peace meant eliminating certain people just to get justice.
So why was she feeling so much anger? Why did she want Dazai to be a saint?
For the next thirty minutes Aira was vigorously flipping pages from one to another, revisiting Dazai's past.
The past she had no idea existed.
The worst part about the whole situation was the fact that she had no idea what to think about it; almost like a black hole had just consumed her mind. On one hand, she was furious. The mafia killed her parents, they killed other people. They did it just for the sake of it. On the other, she was trying to do everything to justify his actions. Just so the goofy picture of him that she painted in her mind would come back.
Why was she having an inner conflict? After all, she didn't believe in authority, evil, pureness. So was it righteous to try to judge others?
And yet Aira wasn't objective. All she could feel was the sensation of getting revenge for her parents. The revenge of the unjustified, unnecessary murder. Maybe that was something she needed to fulfill in order to sleep peacefully at night? However, was revenge the equivalent of salvation of the soul? Or was it just something people thought about as redemption that brought nothing but further regret and sorrow?
Continuing to flip the pages, she found an interesting mention in one of the records. A mention of a place the Port Mafia were torturing the people that had captured.
What was the possibility of Dazai being in that place right now?
She had no clue.
But did that mean she wasn't going to see it for herself?
Obviously not.
~.~
"Where the hell are you?" Kunikida's voice rang through Aira's phone, making her grimace almost immediately.
"I'm in the middle of something, Doppo. Relax," she sighed, trying to focus on the road in front of her.
"In the middle of what exactly? You're part of the Agency, you can't just—!"
"I can do things on my own, Kunikida. I'm an adult woman," Aira interrupted him, stopping her car next to the bay.
"That doesn't mean—!"
"Oh, stop it. You're acting like a mother," she stated, getting out of her vehicle.
"Two detectives are missing and one of them isn't even picking up the phone," Doppo said and Aira could've sworn he was as angry as ever.
"I'll be back this evening. Don't worry," she promised quickly, putting on her sunglasses. "I just have something important to do, okay?"
"It's not okay, Razuki! You haven't finished your reports and the work—!"
Beep.
Aira hung up the phone, simply because she didn't need to be scolded at that time. The clock was ticking, and she still had no idea if she was going to find Dazai. Walking across the warehouses, she was prepared for the worst. If he was attacked by more than one mafia members, he could've been badly injured. And Aira knew he wasn't going to fight just then, it was his usual schema.
As she checked the number of the warehouse she written down when she was at Ango's old office, Aira noticed a red-haired man with a fedora hat on. Walking past him, she saw him sending her a suspicious stare. And just like that she knew he was going to be important in her tiny investigation.
As soon as he passed her, she fired a single shot, yet...
...the bullet stopped right before entering his body.
With the crimson aura surrounding the man, the aim rotated as he himself sent her a grim smirk. But Aira didn't seem shocked. Instead, as soon as she saw the bullet flying towards her, she used her Time-master to move left, just out of the reach of the aim.
The man furrowed his brow, tilting his head to the side. Up until now none of them said a word.
"Who are you?" he asked angrily. Aira noted that he had surprisingly bad temper.
"Who are you?" she repeated his question, not caring to answer him first.
As none of the two seemed to be willing to answer first, the man tucked his hands into his pockets, only to fly above Aira and kick her straight into her head.
"Oh, I know," she chuckled, taking a few steps back. "You're that anti-gravity guy from the reports," she added, shooting at him another two bullets, simply to distract him.
"If you know, why do you keep bothering with those stupid attacks of yours?" he smirked mischievously, punching her side.
"I think I might be interesting in talking to you," she confessed, taking out one of her knives as they spoke. She needed another thirty seconds to use her ability.
"Shame. I'm not," he chuckled, throwing another series of punches. This time followed by the pieces of concrete he ripped of using his gift.
Avoiding getting hit, Aira rolled to the side, realizing that he was too powerful to win a fight against. She had two options — flight, or trying to come up with a perfect plan to make him, at least, retreat.
And it was unlike her to give up on a fight.   Especially when she needed to get some information out of him. Shooting another four shots, she managed to get up, still holding onto her knife.
He smirked, casually avoiding the bullets.
If you can't win, make yourself look vulnerable.
That were the exact words Dazai said to her during one of their first sparring sessions, approximately a year and a half ago.
And that was exactly what she did; catching him off guard, she used Time-master to appear behind him, placing a knife to his throat.
"Impressive," the red-haired man laughed after he was being held at knifepoint. "But you have no chance against me," he added, making the blade in her hand fell off to the ground.
He was right; he was too strong for Aira to overcome him. He proved even further by kicking her once again, nonchalantly watching her trying to get up.
"I could kill you, you know?" he growled, approaching her slowly.
Aira spitted out the blood that appeared in her mouth, laughing quietly.
"But you won't do that. You're too interested who am I," she responded, being pulled by the collar of her shirt.
Without any trouble, the man grabbed her, making her stand up as he dragged her towards the edge of the bay.
"I don't care who you are, woman," he hissed, almost about to push her to the depths of the sea below them.
Manipulation wasn't the only thing related to time Aira was good at. She was also incredibly trained at buying it. The limits of her ability made her learn how to extend the conversation enough, so she would be able to walk out of it without a scratch...
...and that was exactly what she was going to do.
Again.
"I'm looking for Dazai," she finally spoke, trying her best not to fall off of the edge.
"Huh? That shitty dimwit Dazai?" the man furrowed his brow, getting angrier than before.
"Yup," Aira smirked.
"You're his girlfriend or something?" he asked, still holding her by the collar of her shirt.
"Or something. I'm his coworker," she responded.
Ten seconds. She needed to wait another ten seconds.
"Oh, how disappointing. I'd be absolutely thrilled if I got his girlfriend killed," he replied, a devilish smile never leaving his face.
Six more.
"Why do you hate him so much, Chuuya Nakahara?" Aira asked, feeling the grip on her collar tightening.
Four.
"You know, I work with him too. He can be pretty annoying... but I imagine he really had to destroy your ego. I mean, I'm not surprised. That fedora of yours is kinda silly," she giggled, watching his face become red from fury.
"I changed my mind. I am going to kill you," Chuuya hissed.
With his sentence spoken, Aira felt the ground from her feet being pulled down, crimson aura surrounding it.
That was exactly what she waited for.
Instead of focusing on the situation or his body, she focused her ability...
...on his own gift.
Her eyes opened wide as soon as everything around stopped moving.
"Holy crap, I can't believe that actually worked!" she exclaimed cheerfully, genuinely smiling from ear to ear.
"What the fuck did you do?! I can't move!" he shouted, standing completely unable to move.
"I know that learning physics would pay off," she whispered to herself, surrounded by pure joy and excitement.
"Care to elaborate?" he hissed.
"The stronger the gravity, the slower time flows," she explained evasively. "Your power is manipulating it. That means you have your own gravity," she continued, being finally able to move her fingers.
"I can turn back time by four seconds. This time I didn't use my gift on myself or space, I used it on your ability," she spoke, feeling her feet regain movement. "In conclusion — I weaponized you… on yourself," she finished with a big smile on her face.
"So how long is this gonna last?" Chuuya growled, watching her get up. "And why can you move?!"
"Honestly? I have no clue," she confessed, trying her best not to laugh. "I've told you I haven't done this before."
What made Aira burst in laughter in the end, was Chuuya cursing out loud.
"Oh! I think I could be able to turn it off!" she cheered, approaching him from behind. "But before that you'll have to tell me where Dazai is," she whispered to his ear.
"In that stupid warehouse you were going to! I freed him!" he shouted, completely loosing his temper.
"Hm, that's interesting. I thought you hated each other," Aira furrowed her brow, toying with the knife she had just picked up.
"Don't get the wrong idea! I fought him!" Chuuya exclaimed furiously.
"Yeah, whatever," she sighed, snapping her fingers.
It wasn't necessary to do so, she just wanted to be a little bit more dramatic.
"Shit!" Chuuya yelled after hitting the ground, landing straight on his face.
"Gotta go. But don't worry! I'll tell Dazai you send him kisses!" she called after him, hearing him curse out loud once again.
Exhaling loudly, she needed to bring her usual persona back in. After all, she was going to confront Dazai about his past; she couldn't possibly be excited about the new discovery she had just made about herself.
Stepping into the warehouse, she walked down the stairs with a gun in front of her. It was incredibly dark, considering she was still wearing her usual sunglasses she forgot to take off a moment prior. But it was good. The shades helped her to appear more fighting... or that's just what she thought.
Aira had no idea why her knees felt weak all of the sudden. She adored confrontation. She loved revealing the truth.
Yet why did she feel like her whole world was about to crush?
"You never fail to surprise me, Razuki-chan." The familiar voice filled the basement, causing Aira to grip her gun even harder. "Though I must say, I've expected you to come a bit earlier," he added, taking three steps ahead.
"Don't. Move," she hissed, her gun pointed directly at his head.
"So you've meet Chuuya-kun. What's your impression of him," Dazai quickly changed the subject, his usual smile appearing on his face.
"Bad-tempered, but I get now why he hates you," she replied with a morbid tone. "I've read your reports. I've seen everything that Ango had ever written about you," she confessed, her breathing becoming heavy.
"I know," Osamu said calmly. "And still. I'm surprised you haven't figured out it earlier," he added, glancing directly in her eyes.
"You could've told me yourself!" Aira shouted, her hand beginning to tremble.
"But that wouldn't be fun, would it?" he smirked and ignoring her previous order, he took another step towards her. "Remember when I asked you about your biggest secret?" Dazai asked, pointing at the glasses she was wearing.
"Judging by your tone, you knew it already," Aira answered, trying to make her hand steady again.
"We both have our secrets, Razuki-chan," he stated. "You can lower your gun if you don't mind. We both know you aren't going to shoot," Dazai continued, massaging his wrists that had been handcuffed since he was captured.
"I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. You, too, have killed people, you weren't meant to kill," she responded, her hands still shaking despite the firmness of your voice.
"Have you ever read your own report?" Dazai asked with a calm tone.
"I know what's in it. I don't need to read it," she hissed, clenching her jaw.
"You've blacked out after you've killed the seven members of the Port Mafia, who were there to capture your father. It was you, who caused the shooting. Overwhelmed by shock, you went for a walk, only to come back completely confused about what had just happened," Dazai spoke, taking another two steps closer. "Apparently you don't remember a single thing," he tilted his head to the side, noticing the gun in her hand lowering.
"That's not what happened," Aira mumbled, dropping the gun on the ground. "I-I-I... didn't remember it when I came back. That bit is true… But then the memories flooded my head. They murdered my parents before I arrived. I killed them as a revenge," she whispered, blinking rapidly to get rid of the tears filling up her eyes.
"You see? Reports lie," he stated, fully closing the distance between them.
"But you've been in the mafia," she murmured, exhaling weakly.
"How about I tell you my perspective, hmm? I'm not saying I'm a good person... but neither are you, Razuki-chan," he said calmly, placing his hand on Aira's arm.
"There's no such a thing as good," she whispered, letting his hand move up and down her shoulder.
It was his touch that made her eyes fully tear up, salty water streaming down her cheeks.
"Oh, Aira. Of course not," he responded softly, moving his thumb to her cheek to wipe away her tears. "Stop pitying yourself. It's the past," he added, placing the other hand on her back and moving her closer to his chest.
"I have a feeling you're trying to manipulate me by hugging me," she chuckled through her tears, hesitantly putting her palm on his waist.
"Why would I do that?" Dazai asked innocently. "By the way, you smell like sea water," he added, causing her to giggle.
"That's 'cause I was trying to stop our newbie from killing himself," she responded, allowing her head to rest on Osamu's chest.
"I think we should go to eat something then. After all, I've been kidnapped and not fed for the past two days," he replied, stroking the back of her head.
"Agree," she whispered. "But, Dazai?"
"Hmm?"
"If you tell anyone I've hugged you, I'm going to murder you," she spoke, taking a step back.
"I don't know if that's a threat or an encouragement," he smirked, walking to the exit of the basement.
"Dazai!"
~.~
"So let me get things straight. Dazai was kidnapped by the mafia, you've found him, doing god-knows-what during that whole day, and then you've decided to go for some boiled tofu?"
Aira glanced at Osamu, trying her best not to laugh. They both failed miserably — Dazai placing his head on his desk, consumed by the laughter, and Aira covering her mouth with the palm of her hand as she looked away from Kunikida, who had been scolding them for the past couple of minutes.
"Y-yes?" Aira managed to say, jumping in place when Doppo slammed his hand on her desk.
"That's not funny! I've expected Dazai to be irresponsible, but you?! Razuki, I thought you were the responsible one!" he went on saying, sitting behind his own desk.
"I think you've made him mad, Razuki-chaan," Osamu whispered to her, still giggling.
"I wasn't told we were going to be roommates!" Atsushi yelled, appearing right in front of the three detective.
The girl from before, Kyouka, had been standing just beside him.
"We don't have enough rooms, you see," Dazai answered, his tone changing completely.
"For the love of god," Aira mumbled, walking towards the kitchen to make herself another cup of coffee.
Yesterday she and Osamu went to eat the promised dinner. During that time, the dark-haired man told her some stories about him being in the mafia. Most of which contained the man Aira had meet earlier that day — Chuuya. To be completely honest, Port Mafia sound exactly the same as their Agency; lots of incompetent employees who, for some reason, managed to fight their way out of their troubles. The only thing differing the two being the amount of people they tend to kill.
Yet, Aira still wasn't sure what to think about the whole situation. She hated the mafia for even considering stepping into her parents house, she hated that they made her kill for the first time.
And still, there was something about Dazai she couldn't exactly comprehend.
Maybe it was his persona, maybe the fact that they thought alike in certain aspects of life. Aira couldn't quite pinpoint it, yet she was feeling the very specific urge to talk with him that day.
And she didn't regret it in the lightest.
On top of that she knew, she would be needing Dazai's help very soon. After all, she had just discovered the new aspect of her ability. And he was the only person that could've help her explore it some more.
Returning to the main area of the office, Aira noticed Dazai whispering something in Atsushi's ear. It was followed by the boy almost immediately straightening up and sitting beside his desk.
"If you have time to mess with Atsushi, write up the report about your capture by the Port Mafia!" Kunikida ordered him as Aira was taking a seat in her chair.
"Atsushi-kun. Write the report for me," Dazai said with a serious tone, turning his head towards the boy.
"Idiot," Aira mumbled, smacking him in the head with the bunch of papers she was holding. "Do it yourself," she added, watching him glance at her with, what it looked like to be, puppy eyes.
"Razuuuki-chaaan," he started with a pout.
"No. No way," she rapidly shook her head, trying her best not to giggle.
"Pleaaase?" He blinked twice.
"I'm not doing your job!" she argued.
"Children," Kunikida sighed loudly, gaining a reprimanding stare from Aira.
"That's my catchphrase," she replied, listening to Dazai's explanation about the pen drive he had found in the basement.
Apparently it contained the information about the Guild, who were the one behind putting the bounty on Atsushi. And just like that, the helicopter could've been heard from the inside of the office.
"No, no, no. I'm not dealing with that today." Aira vigorously shook her head, putting on her coat before she finished her coffee.
"Why not?" Kunikida furrowed his brow, adjusting his glasses at the same time.
"I'm going shopping with Yosano," she stated casually, causing everyone in the room to turn their eyes at her. "What?"
"I thought you hated her," Dazai smirked, placing his hands behind his head.
"I've noticed something recently," Aira started nonchalantly. "People hate others because they’re insecure of themselves. And that's just stupid," she stated, placing her sunglasses on the bridge of her nose.
"Wh—?"
"Character development? I don't know, Kunikida," she interrupted the blonde detective, smiling genuinely.
"You need to come to see this!" Tanizaki yelled, quickly entering the office.
"Yup. That's my sign to leave," Aira smirked, exiting the room and walking out on the street.
As soon as she noticed Yosano in her car, she waved at her, jumping into the passengers seat.
"I wouldn't have thought in my wildest dreams that you'd purposely come shopping with me," Yosano chuckled, starting the engine of the car.
"You know how I call it, Doc?"
"Hmm?"
"A raw discovery."

!Calling him after a Crash!
Ango, Kunikida, and Chuuya get a surprise call from their significant other after they had just been in a car crash, thankfully, unhurt [Fem_S/o]
!Emergency Request by Anon!
Tumblr media
Ango
Ango’s on his lunch break when he first gets a call from you. However, too engrossed in his work even while eating, he lets it go unanswered. The third time you call though, he has enough and picks up the phone
“Do you need anything-” He answers harshly. All that attitude stops as soon as he hears your sobs
He’s a very busy man, yet if there’s one thing that automatically crashes that demeanor down, it's you. “Are you alright? Talk to me,” he says, gentler than his previous tone
“I-I know you’re probably busy,” you manage to say through gasps and heaves. Ango’s heart absolutely breaks, do you really think he wouldn’t care about you crying?
You explain the situation, and Ango finds himself immediately standing up, drawing the attention of the Japanese Panera Bread or something he finds himself in
“Where are you, do you need a ride?” He hears you sniffle a quiet yes, and another apology for wasting his time. “You’re never a waste of time.”
He shows up to the scene and you’re sitting on a near-by bench, the backside of your car absolutely totaled and you thankfully unscathed
You spot him and immediately run up and hug him. He hears you begin to ramble apologies and explanations and he has to bite back a frown
Ango takes your hand in his and attempts to get you to calm down, pulling you into a hug with his other arm
If you need to sit back down, Ango is as patient as ever with leading you back to the bench. A police officer walks up to you two and begins questioning about the accident. After already asking the other party, it was now your dreaded turn
Ango saw you begin to tense up, tears threatening to leak out of your eyes at the prompt of you having to explain the stressful situation. He grips your hand tighter and whispers, “I’ll handle this if you wish”
While he may seem cold at first, there is no doubt about it that Ango will drop everything just to know that you’re alright
Kunikida
Surprising or not, it wasn’t really a busy day at the ADA
Kunikida was getting all up in arms about Dazai filling out paperwork wrong, Ranpo was eyeing the donuts that Kenji received from a friendly old lady, Junichiro and Atsushi were playing a little game of desktop American football, and the rest of the ADA was unusually..... calm
Then Kunikida’s phone rang
“Answer it Kunikida it’s important!” Ranpo yelled from his desk, taking advantage of Kenji’s distraction to steal a donut
Mid speech of why correct dating of papers is important Kunikida answered the phone to his girlfriend’s cries
Kunikida stops his monologue, voice softening in pitch and volume to ask why you seemed so upset
The change in demeanor is shocking to the ADA office, and a welcomed surprise to the previously lectured Dazai
“Do you need me to pick you up? No? I’ll be there soon”
His coworkers watch as Kunikida walks through the door, curious to what the conversation was about
Kunikida shows up to the site of the crash, and he sees you slouched over the curb, tears streaking down your face
“Heyhey hey--” He crouches down to meet your eyes. “You’re not hurt are you?”
If you let him, he’ll try to cradle your cheek in his hand, running his thumb under your eye to wipe your tears
He’s not very good at the whole comforting thing, but he’ll sit down beside you and wrap an arm around you while he rubs circles into your back
Kunikida is almost overbearing with his questions and concerns for your safety. He means the best, but his mom instincts kick in and he can’t help but worry over you
After settling everything down, you two walk to your shared flat, as the crash was only a short distance away from home
Kunikida is at your beck and call afterward. He’s not that comfortable showing full-blown affection, but he tries so hard to make up for it by doting to all your needs
He loves you and never wants to see you hurt or upset, so please let him distract you just for a little bit
This is so bad im so sorry shddjfs
Chuuya
100% will fight the other party in the crash. How DARE they hurt you and your car
Back to serious business, Chuuya is extremely concerned once he gets a call from you
He always worries over your safety, so when he hears your cries from the other end his heart drops. Immediately asks you where you are, what happened, who hurt you, and if there’s any blood
You’re rattled up and shaken, too razzled to answer any of the barrages of questions he throws your way
Whatever he’s doing at the time, whether paperwork or a quick kill mission, can be put on hold. Chuuya needs to comfort his girl
Out of the three boys requested, Chuuya definitely has the most dramatic reaction
Instantly he pulls you into a hug, ignoring all apologies you have for him revolving around wasting his time. His hands find themselves in your hair, calming the two of you down immensely
A cop taps on his shoulder and he has to stop himself from glaring at them
Chuuya is holding your hand all the way through the cop’s questionnaire, squeezing it tighter whenever it looked like you were about to stress out even more
Afterward, Chuuya makes it his mission to make you feel better
He can cover the cost of your car and the other person’s car if necessary, being in the mafia does pay really well after all. But you’re top priority to him at the moment, and he will do whatever you need him to do in order for you to be okay
Hnnn I’m so sorry dear these are so bad--- I’m glad that you’re [physically] okay! Apologies for the minimal description of the crash n stuff I didn’t know what to do w that aha ha-- Also Kunikida and Chuuyas are so bad because I wrote them at like 3 am ahaha hahahahahaa
Also I really don’t know what emergency requests are tbh, but I hope you at least thought these were decent/enjoyed these! <3  !Stay safe and happy!

Miss you
My entry for @poppirocks‘s 400 followers challenge ! I love both the characters of Ango and Tachihara so I thought I would write something about them (not in a shippy sense) since they are kind of similar on some points.  MANGA SPOILERS ! (1K words)  Tachihara glanced at the cloudy sky. Rain was probably coming in the next hour, but he didn’t bother to take an umbrella as he left his apartment. He was going to be quick, anyway : there was no point in dragging out his monthly visit. Absentmindedly, he began walking towards the cemetery, a path he knew too well. He didn’t even have to bring his phone with him, or a map ; his feet were already used to all these turns and streets. If he was honest with himself, the only thing he didn’t know was why he had taken this habit. After all, what was the point of talking with a tombstone ? His brother was already long gone and his remains were nothing more than bones buried in dirt. Plus, Michizou Tachihara wasn’t the type to dwell on the past. Or was he ? Sometimes, the difference between the real him and the persona he had put on as a cover confused him. To whom belonged these thoughts ? To the Hunting Dog or to the mafioso ? Or to neither of them ? He reached for his bandaid and sighed. He didn’t have the strength to deal with an existential crisis right now. Ango glanced at the cloudy sky. Rain was probably coming in the next hour, which incited him to reach for his umbrella. Better safe than sorry, he thought to himself as he left his apartment. Already, his mind began buzzing with everything he had to do at work. This report wasn’t going to type itself… But Tsujimura-kun had tentatively tried to lecture him about self-care and he had decided to take a day off. And since he hadn’t gone to see Oda for a long time, he bought a bouquet at the nearest flower shop and was now heading to the cemetery. Ah, well… A visit to the dead probably wasn’t the kind of activity his worried subordinate had in mind for a self-care day. Or maybe this kind of thing was taking care of himself ? Slowly making peace with his past ? Seeking forgiveness in the act of giving some of his limited time to the memory of the dead ? He let out a small chuckle. Memories… Dealing with other’s was relatively easy as long as he kept a healthy distance, but with his own… It was an entirely different matter, to say the least, a matter he had the greatest difficulty to handle. The readhead entered the cemetery. This place was always so quiet… He found himself feeling quite oppressed by the silence, heavier than any noise. Maybe it was this impression of being in an out of time bubble, where he could let go of his cover. Without thinking, Tachihara took off his bandaid, as his brother’s smiling face flickered in his mind. Every time he came here, his memories became blurrier and blurrier… His pace fastened. He didn’t want to forget the soft tone of his brother’s voice, nor the warm and fuzzy feeling in the young Michizou’s chest when he told him that he was the best little brother in the world. The man in the brown suit entered the cemetery. This place was always so quiet… But the silence had something soothing in Ango’s mind. He could even hear his own breath, the only sign of life in this land of the dead. The only one ? Not exactly. Another young man with red hair was also walking in the alleys, without an umbrella. Red hair… An image of Oda sitting in the bar, a meditative expression on his face, flashed before his eyes. Ango would never forget these small moments of friendship, where he felt he truly belonged somewhere, with these two peculiar people who were in his most treasured memories. And now… He approached his friend’s tombstone and laid the flowers there. Y. Tachihara S. Oda “Hey, big brother…”, Michizou said softly, feeling a bit ridiculous. “It’s me, again. I just wanted you to know… There’s nothin’ to worry about. The mafia people treat me well, so I’m good. Uh… That’s weird, right ? You’re not here. Not anymore. But I keep comin’. Guess I still need you, even if you’re…” He gestured at the grave. “I wonder what Gin is doing right now. Probably practicing her aim. And gramps… You don’t know them, of course, but…” For a moment, he closed his eyes. “I saw mom and dad the other day. They didn’t even look at me. But that’s probably for the best, eh ? They would probably tell me that I’m even more of a disappointment that I was before, so…” He crouched down. “I miss you, Yūto I miss you so much…” “Hello, Odasaku”, began Ango. “It’s been a long time, I’m sorry about that. Work is…overwhelming. I always have to stay overtime, even if I don’t like to. I guess it’s a way to right the wrongs… Anyway. I’m sorry I don’t come as often as I should. Another thing to add to the list of what I have to be forgiven for. Did you know I ran into Dazai the other day ? He looked at me as if a was utter garbage and that hurt. A lot. But he’s happier now. He’s good… You were good to him. And to me too. ” He took a deep breath. “I miss you, Odasaku. I miss you so much…” I miss you. I miss you so much. I miss you.

Inspired by @herbgerblin ‘s wonderful Taakitz art
For those that live perpetually on call in Faerun, contacting them can go a couple different ways. If you’ve got their frequency, some are easily reachable by Stone of Farspeech. If you’re offering some sort of brief, stunt-filled adventure to three less-than-retired saviors of the multiverse, a letter will suffice. And, of course, all else failing, anything from a posting for a serving job at the local tavern to one preceding a multiverse-saving adventure may be posted to Craig’s List.
But for the agents of her Majesty the Raven Queen, goddess of the natural order of life and death, ruler of the Astral Plane, it’s more a feeling: a chill gracefully sweeping up the bones, feathers subtly rising in anticipation, and the certainty that something so much larger than you is watching, that if you were to look over your shoulder, a pair of deep brown eyes would meet yours.
It’s to such a feeling that Kravitz wakes up this morning. And that’s morning only in the technical sense of the term, as the softly ticking clock on the wall indicates that it is 3:16. Again, in the morning.
Kravitz immediately closes his eyes again, pushing down the brush of frustration. First, despite Kravitz’s semi-return to the land of the living, he is still very much dead and in the Raven Queen’s employ. Though She certainly respects Kravitz’s newfound work-life balance, necromancy never sleeps. At least not at reasonable hours.
Second, there’s Taako. Kravitz opens his eyes again and tilts his head to look at his sleeping boyfriend, somehow sprawled across half of the bed and most of Kravitz, tangled up in blankets, hair spread across the pillow. Beautiful, ethereal, gorgeous. Also drooling slightly.
A smile crosses Kravitz’s face before he looks to the clock again. The feeling heightens, a sense of urgency tracing through Kravitz’s recently back in use veins. It has to be something serious then.
Kravitz slowly extricates himself from Taako’s hold, trying not to wake him. Faint moonlight peeking through the curtains paints Kravitz’s shadow across the wall as he rises, a cat hopping off the bed and trotting noiselessly across the room as he does.
Kravitz follows just as noiselessly, and his hand is on the doorknob when he hears a sleepy, “Babe?” Kravitz looks over his shoulder. Taako slowly pushes himself up to sitting, still under enough blankets to be more fabric than elf. Taako peers at him for a moment, blinking sleep out of his eyes, then says, “Shit. Call from bird mom?”
“Yes,” Kravitz answers, turning around fully. “I can’t believe those two got you to call her that.”
“Shit.” Taako mumbles again, or half mumbles as the word turns into a yawn. “S’like... fuck o’clock.”
“You can go back to sleep. I’ll be-“ Kravitz stops. “It won’t take long.”
“Nuh-uh.” Taako wiggles off the bed, taking the blankets with him and sending two more cats running. A far lumpier shadow crosses the wall as Taako crosses the room. “Ugh. Fuck o’clock. Coffee first?”
Kravitz considers, reaching out to ask, and the watched feeling softens, the hairs on the back of his neck settle. Urgent, important, but not Magnus Burnsides level of needing to rush. Coffee first then.
Neither bothers with the lights as they head downstairs, because neither needs them. Taako bats Kravitz’s hands away from the coffee maker in the kitchen and sets to work himself. Kravitz, for his part, concludes he’d be better suited, both figuratively and literally, if he were wearing work attire instead of pajama bottoms, and materializes his suit and cloak. There’s a soft, almost squeaking meow near his feet before Cat Angus starts determinedly climbing his pant leg.
“Why not send Lup?” Taako whines as he works.
“Your sister is probably going too.” Kravitz answers.
“So send Barold with her.”
“Your brother is probably going with both of us. This one... feels like a big one.” Taako’s ear twitches, and his shoulders tense. “It’ll be fine. We’ll be safe, and I’ll be back by dinner.” Kravitz rushes to say, reaching out to put a hand on Taako’s shoulder. Or what he is 90% sure is Taako’s shoulder. It’s hard to tell with all the blankets. There’s another meow from somewhere near his hipbone and a swift tug of his cape as Cat Angus jumps.
“Mmmrmph.” Taako lets out a truly dissatisfied noise before turning around, two mugs in hand. Kravitz he gives the official Raven and Ram racing mug, while Taako himself keeps a mug emblazoned with the word, “beanjuice.”
“You don’t have to stay up,” Kravitz says, gesturing to Taako’s mug even as he takes a sip from his own. The bitter taste of the coffee is tempered by just the right amount of cream and sugar. As always, Taako is an expert in the kitchen, and Kravitz is especially grateful for that (and caffeine) right now. “You could go back to bed, get some more sleep. It is-“ Kravitz breaks into a yawn. “-Very early.” He finishes.
Taako shakes his head and takes a sip of his own coffee. “Nope. Gonna hold you to that one, rabbit. You, Lulu, and Barold all back safe and sound by dinner.”
“Taako-“
“Nope!” Taako shakes his head. “You gotta be a good Grim Reaper, I’m gonna be a supportive boyfriend. So, family dinner, tonight. No negotiations here, babe.”
“Taako, I-“ It’d be nice to have something to look forward to at work today. And a reason to push off paperwork until tomorrow. “Okay. Family dinner, tonight.” Kravitz nods.
“Cool. Gonna have you ‘n Lup ‘n Barry ‘n Maggie ‘n Ango ‘n Merle ‘n Ren and-“ Taako breaks into another yawn. “And everyone.” He says decidedly. “Family dinner means everyone. So you three-“ He gently pokes a finger into Kravitz’s chest. “Have gotta show up.” The hand raises to hold Kravitz’s cheek.
“Promise. Cross my heart and hope to revivify.” Kravitz winks, work accent popping in.
Taako snorts. “Fuckin’ necromancers.” He leans in to kiss Kravitz. Only to pause when there is a thoroughly indignant squeak, as Kravitz’s own movement jostles a certain kitten that has reached Kravitz’s shoulders. “You little shit.” Taako directs to the kitten, pulling back.
“He wants attention.” Kravitz says. Cat Angus gently bats at one of Kravitz’s braids.
“Yeah, and he coulda had it now, but he picked you as his favorite.” A purple Mage Hand carefully picks the kitten up off Kravitz’s shoulder and deposits him on the floor. Cat Angus, for his part, meows his displeasure before stalking off, tail pointing straight upward.
“I think Angus is his actual favorite.”
“Lucky Agnes.” Taako huffs.
“You’re my favorite.”
“Damn right.” And Taako leans in to kiss Kravitz. They aren’t interrupted by the kitten this time. “Love you.”
“I love you, too.”
“Oh, and can you pick up fabric softener while you’re out?”
“Of course. Fabric softener, family dinner tonight.” Kravitz smiles.
Being summoned at 3:16 might be harder now, but what he’s going back to? It’s worth it.

okay hi, this is kinda a sensitive topic so feel free to deny, jst lmk cuz tumblr eats asks sometimes
I wanna request a self aware!bsd x gn teen!reader. Reader is like 15-16, and has a very bad home life (father is physically & s*xually abusive as well as an addict and mom doesnt care) and uses bsd as an escape and stuff. They see Chuuya and Kouyou as parental figures (not a ship). And reader is like really lifeless/numb but also extremely scared and paranoid
It is not your fault
Self-Aware! Platonic! Chuuya Nakahara x GN! Abused! Reader x Self-Aware! Platonic! Kouyou Ozaki
Tumblr media
Description: There are monsters in your house. You want to be saved. From reality no one want help you. Maybe, you can help world in different world.
TW: Non-descriptive SA (psychological (photos, comments, forced looking at nudity) and physical (forced touching)). Mentions, without clarification or NSFW language. Mentions of drugs. Reader think that it's their fault [IT'S NOT AND IT WILL NEVER BE]. The bastard gets what he deserves. Soft protective platonic yandere. English is my second language.
_______
The school break will end soon, and you have to go to class.
You were reading BSD manga on your phone. When you got the message.
You heard the notification sound. You take a look at the screen.
[1 photo send from Father]
You feel sick. You knew what he sent you. You don't want to look at it.
Another notification.
[Look at it]
[That's what I put into your mother, so she can have you]
[Isn't he looked good?]
[DON'T YOU DARE IGNORE ME!]
You hurry to the school bathroom. You can't let anyone accidentally see, what your father sent you.
You can't ignore him. Or it would be worse.
When you got into the school bathroom, you make sure, that no one see you. You opened the chat with your father and immediately closed your eyes.
It takes you a few moments to close the app without looking at the screen.
There were tears in your eyes.
But when you go back to class, you were emotionless.
From outside, you looked numb and emotionless. But inside you were scared.
Really scared.
But you were hiding your fear.
Because no one cares. Even your own mother.
__________
"Mom... Dad was sending me photos... Of his... Of his..."
"[Y/N], stop mumbling. Just ignore him."
"Mom... Dad was making comments... About my... hips. He is making me uncomfortable..."
"[Y/N], I told you before. Ignore him."
"Mom, why Dad is walking around home naked? He is..."
"[Y/N], stop whining. Ignore your father..."
"Mom... He touched me... He forced me to touch him... He held my hand and didn't let me go..."
"Mom... He hit me because I called him gross... My hands feel gross and dirty... Mom, please help me!"
"Mom... Why are you ignoring me?"
__________
You hoped, that today he won't touch you.
You won and loose at the same time.
He didn't 'touch' you, but he beat you.
For not looking at his messages the same moment you got them.
Then he was too high on God knows what to touch you or force you to touch him.
You hide in your room.
You use the chair to hold the door down.
Your father is 'satisfied' with touching.
One day he will want more.
You prayed, that this day won't come for the next year. Until you are eighteen and can finally leave this house for good.
Your hands already will be dirty for the rest of your life.
You don't want to be dirty for the rest of your life.
From books, you have read, you learned, that's not your fault.
If only you could believe in these words yourself.
Were you really innocent? Or you did something, that made your father... interested in you?
You curled under the blanket and open your phone. You want to escape. You need to escape.
You opened BSD Mayoi App. You need to look at Chuuya and Kouyou cards.
___________
In BSD world
___________
Chuuya and Kouyou were ruthless. You need them. You were stuck in one house with the monster. Two monsters, because your mother didn't do anything to help you.
Chuuya growled at Ango.
"When the damn thing will be ready?! [Y/N] need us!"
Kouyou's gaze were cold. Golden Demon was hovering above here.
Ango took a step back.
"It still needs two hours to charge. I wish, it can be faster, but we can't do anything for it."
Chuuya turned around and left the room. Soon, everyone heard the sound of the road near the building been destroyed. Chuuya tried to calm down this way, otherwise he would attack someone.
He remembered your words.
"He beat me again. I don't want to be hurt anymore. I don't want to be touched by him... If you were real, would you care enough to help me?"
"I would, [Y/N]. I care enough. I will show him. He will pay."
Kouyou did a better job in holding herself together. But inside she was livid.
"I wish you were there, Kouyou. With you near me, he won't go near me. He won't touch me."
"He won't. Please, [Y/N], wait. It will be over soon."
_________
*BANG*
"How dare you to hold your door with the chair?! Ungrateful brat! STRIP!"
"No! Let me go! I don't want to! It's wrong!"
"Don't go near me! Stay away! Someone, please help me! Mom, please help me!"
"Come on! Open, damn portal! Open!"
And the white light fills the room, right after your father grabbed you by the shirt.
It takes one kick from Chuuya, to make your father fall down on the floor. He can't move, thanks to Chuuya's ability.
Your mother came to your room, trying to see, what was the noise. She saw you, your father been pinned down. And all BSD characters. Before she can shout, Golden Demon's katana was aimed at her throat.
Kouyou was standing before you, hiding you from your father and mother.
You can't believe your eyes. Was it real? Are BSD characters really standing in your room? Are they really protecting you?
You heard Kouyou's voice. She sounds soft.
"[Y/N], dear, sorry for almost letting this vermin do what he was planning to do. But we are here now, we are here to take you out of here. Do you trust us? Will you come with us?"
You nodded. You were certain, that they won't hurt you. It was time. You can finally be free.
"Yes..."
Chuuya looked at you and smiled.
"[Y/N], is it okay if Kouyou and I join you and others later? We need to deal with this man and woman."
You simply nodded and follow after the rest of the Cast. You were leaving the house. You stayed near Kyouka.
When you were gone, Chuuya and Kouyou start their revenge on your 'parents'.
________
You were free.
There is still work to do. You will need professional help.
But now you have people, who love you and respect you.
You have two parental figures in your life. Chuuya and Kouyou respect your privacy. They want you to feel safe.
They will protect you.
Monsters that you lived with, are dead. Your father died with his stomach ripped open and been as thin as a paper sheet. Your mother was torn apart.
Nothing can hurt you anymore. You will be better. You will feel safe.
They are with you.
The most important thing they told you, was this.
You are innocent. And it was never your fault. You are not dirty or disgusting.
It was never your fault.

Novel Recap: Osamu Dazai and the Dark Era
Prologue
“You’ve got some new injuries, I see” I pointed at Dazai’s freshly wrapped bandages while taking a quick sip of my drink.
“Yep.” Dazai smirked as he looked himself over.
His body was covered in scars, the price he paid for his success. In other words, the man was a mess. There was always a part of his body that was under repairs. Once again, it really made me conscious of how Dazai thrived in the center of violence and death.
- Ok, that... made me a little sad. I suspected that Dazai’s body is covered ins scars and so on, but having 100% confirmation still hurts
[...] Thanks to that, I know more about making tofu than anyone in this organization.”
[...] It was good, huh...?” I was impressed. No matter what he did, Dazai seemed to reach heights that normal people couldn’t.
- He’s even good at cooking now! *surprised pikachu face* even thou he made those tofu to kill himself
“Odasaku... You should’ve spoken up right there.” [...] “You’re too soft on Dazai. You should be calling him out and whacking the back of his head with a hammer for every two out of three things he says, or else he’s going to go off the rails. [...]”
- Ango in the Prologue is my absolute favourite, I love his reactions to Dazai and Odasaku, which doesn’t really come through in the anime since they left some dialogues out (understandably). He’s definitely the mom friend of the group. Also the things he suggests Odasaku should do are the exact same things Kunikida does when Dazai puts up some shit again XD
Ango gave us a glimpse of a box wrapped in paper inside his bag. [...]
“...What time did the deal end?! Dazai suddenly asked while observing the goods. [...]
“That’s pretty meek coming from you, Ango Sakaguchi - you’re the man who knows everything about the Mafia,” Dazai added with a smile
- This *clenches fist* this scene, man! If you already know what will happen and you reread this, then you know that at this moment Dazai already knows that Ango’s going to betray the Port Mafia, hence the reason why Dazai decided at the end to take a picture of them, because he knew it would be the last time they’d sit in the bar like that *ugly sobbing*
“I wouldn’t recommend that.” Ango glanced at Dazai out of the corner of his eye. “Forget searching for criminals or looking for lost goods. Bringing Dazai to solve a lovers’ quarrel is just going to be pouring oil into the fire.”
“Who wouldn’t want to keep a relationship’s fire burning? Sounds wonderful if you ask me.”
“See? What did I tell you?”
- Yeah, who wouldn’t have fun in ruining an already ruined relationship? XD
“Dazai, maybe you should get a hobby before you start meddling in other people’s work,” continued Ango. “Something more wholesome than attempting suicide.”
- Dazai, some weeks later: *holding a camera* Hello, I’m Dazai Osamu, and welcome to the suicide challenge! Please hit that like and subscribe button and tell me what you thought about it in the comments!
“Then how about cooki-? Wait forget it.” Ango lowered his head and covered his mouth. He must have remembered when Dazai made us that “peppy hot pot.” It gave us plenty of pep, just as the name suggested, but we had no memory of what happened the next few days after we ate it. When we grilled Dazai later about what was in the hot pot, he just giggled.
- 👀 So, I guess it were drugs? The imagination alone... you could write a whole crackfic about this incident XD
“...Odasaku, that’s exactly the problem right there. You’re enabling Dazai. You don’t speak up, and that’s why he goes off the rails.”
I see. So this was what Ango meant by “enabling” him. You learn something new every day.
- Is2g those two are like parents with Ango being the responsible one, always nagging, and Odasaku being the one who allows the kid to do anything.

BSD for the hyperfixation asks?? :0c
@altermoriarty also asked for 📌,🏳️🌈, and 💎 for BSD
---
📃, what is the plot of the show?: Magic writers beat the ever loving shit out of each other and are existential.
📌, how did I find Bungou Stray Dogs?: Okay, so in highschool, I had a friend who really loved Edgar Allen Poe; our world's Poe I mean, the poet. I thought it would be fun to look through his tag here on Tumblr to find like some quotes or cool art based on his work to send her, not even thinking of Japan's love of taking literally any concept and making it hot. So, needless to say, when I came across a Poe x reader fic within the tag, I was very confused. I literally had a moment of, oh so I guess we be writing about not just real people on this hell site but people want to date old poets now, aight. Obviously I had to investigate and I think I then clicked on the blog and saw that it was a fandom blog, which made me feel a little better. I kind of wish I remember what blog/fic it was. I suppose I owe a lot to Mr. Poe.
✨, what draws me to the show?: The characters, their struggles, the animation, the music, the humor, the fight scenes, the interesting powers, the drama, the messages about life and their passion and will, there's a deep feeling that this show sparks in me that I can't describe.
🎥, do I have any favorite scenes?: Hm, there's honestly a lot. I've talked about a few before like that scene in season 3 episode 5 where everyone is just really hot (really that whole episode honestly), and how cute Dazai is holding back both Atsushi and Akutagawa from fighting in that season's finale and how funny it is to me in general. More generally, any scene in something where the music plays a big part and swells with the action and emotion, I love. So like, when Dazai shows off his ability in episode 1, s1 episode 8 on the train when Atsushi gets all determined (holy shit when the music kicks up right as he like plants his foot and gets back up) and Yosono beats the shit out of lemon bomb guy (aka when I decided she's girlfriend material), Atsushi and Akutagawa's fight in episode 10 of that season, the scene that I always cry during in which Oda fights Mimic, the double black fight and Chuuya using corruption, Sushi and Aku vs Fitzgerald, the season 3 finale fight, Dazai and Chuuya at fifteen their big fight working together for the first time. Also less music related, Chuuya at the start of the cannibalism arc when he lands on the roof and is all mad, when Chuuya comes to tell the agency in season 2 that the guild is going to try and kidnap Naomi and Haruno ("do you really think you're a match against gravity?"), Dazai threatening Kouyou (love you flower mom but that was hot), s1 episode 7 when Dazai and Kunikida switch fights, Higuchi rescuing Akutagawa in s1 episode 11, Akutagawa vs Hawthorne, s2 episode 7 when Yumeno shows up and Dazai talks to Higuchi and Gin and then when he meets Ango, Dazai and Chuuya's reunion, "it's a pleasure to meet you my new friend, I'm osamu dazai". If I keep talking right now I will just name the whole series. This is what happens when I talk about my hyperfixations, I think you get the point.
🎶, what's my favorite song from the show?: All the openings (right now, season 3's is my favorite), and Eye if the Tiger.
💕, talk about my favorite character? I can't really entirely put into words why I love Dazai so much, especially over text, there's a feeling he gives me. He's fascinating, I do love his darker nature, I love how he's changed and works to make himself a better man even after everything, the way you can see that he cares (one thing that really annoys me is when I see people say Dazai is an uncaring sociopath who's kindness is only ever a mask and they think he's incapable of love, look at his interactions with especially Oda and Atsushi, look at the things he's done, he has compassion and it only grows the longer he's in the light), he's badass, he's smart, he's gorgeous, he's funny, why wouldn't I love him?
💔, talk about one of my least favorite characters?: I actually can't really think of a character who'd I call a least favorite. They're all interesting to me and I can't say I particularly dislike any of them.
🌈🏳️, any headcanons that are important to me?: Dazai is ace just like I am.
🍀, any comfort characters? I mean, all my f/os, all romantic, platonic, and familial, but Dazai especially is so important and such a comfort to me, thinking about him makes me feel good.
💎, any fun facts?: Maybe this first one isn't exactly a fun fact but it's something I hadn't realized until late into season 3 when I was watching the intro and it suddenly clicked but Natsume sensei is the one who gave Oda advice about becoming a writer, Chuuya's voice actor sings openings 1 and 3 and Tachihara's voice actor sings opening 2, our world's Yosano had a connection to Mori also and asked him to name her twin daughters, Higuchi is also named after an actual authors which means she must have an ability otherwise she'd be based on a book's character.
💢, anything I would change?: I can't really think of anything right now? I mean, I know it's not perfect but there's nothing I really feel a burning dislike of. Can I say I would change that my s/is are not currently in the series and that is a crime?
I rambled a whole lot.

Buraiha Love Pack AU Pregnancy Headcanons
Who. Is. The. Father?!!!!
Like legit no one knows. Danielle has one on one sex with each of them, and sometimes they just forget a condom.
But it lowkey doesn't matter. Like whoever the baby looks the most like is the father.
But that aside they are all excited for the baby's arrival
Overprotective husbandos much? Like Danielle isn't allowed to do anything on her own anymore, for fear that she might hurt herself or the baby.
It's sweet but a little suffocating
Danielle now sleeps in between Oda and Dazai, just in case anyone invades their home they’ll have to get through the three of them before they get to Danielle.
Oda will legit carry her wherever she needs to go.
Need to go to the bathroom? Carries her. The kitchen? He’ll carry her there too. The store? He will legit carry through the store no place is off-limits.
“Where are you going, Danielle?” “To the library” “...” “Oda? Oda, I can walk myself. Oda!”
Ango is in charge of keeping track of Danielle’s doctor appointments and monitoring what she eats.
“You need to eat more protein Danielle it will help with the baby” “I know Ango”
Dazai is in charge of keeping up with her cravings, during the pregnancy. He whines and complains, but he does get her whatever she needs.
“Osamu! I want pickles and ice cream!” “Ugh, okay, fine” “....” “Can I have some?” “No, these are my pickles”
Normally one of them will accompany Danielle to her doctor’s appointments if one can’t go then one of the others will. God forbid if they all can’t go, then Danielle just doesn't go to the appointment at all, the appointment comes to her.
The doctors have noticed how Danielle comes in with a different male each time, but they don't say anything.
When Danielle’s belly starts growing it is almost impossible to tear any of them away from her baby bump. Ango even made a schedule for who gets to cuddle with Danielle’s stomach.
“It’s my turn to cuddle with Danielle-chan’s stomach Ango!” “Your turn ended thirty seconds ago!”
All three males love talking to the baby, sometimes they’ll talk about random shit, but other times they just talk about how great their mom is gonna be and how they’re gonna grow up protected and surrounded by love.
“You’re gonna have the most perfect mom, she’s kind, she’s beautiful, and she makes the best crab dishes in the world” “Osamu, can we have crab for dinner?” “Of course love”
When the baby kicks for the first time everyone loses their shit! Like it was Dazai’s turn to cuddle with Danielle’s stomach, and he’s just humming to the baby while Danielle reads, and suddenly they both gasp and look at each other. “The baby just-” “Yeah”. Cue excited screaming
Ango and Oda rush into the room ready to fight someone. “What is it?” “What’s happening?” “THE BABY JUST KICKED!”
The four spend the rest of the afternoon feeling Danielle’s stomach and waiting for the baby to kick again. It does.
The Agency gets together and throws Danielle a gender revealing party, even some of her friends from the Mafia attended, Nina dragged Chuuya along with her, and they didn’t stay for long.
The baby is a girl, they haven’t decided on a name yet.
Nursery building is up to Oda and Ango since Dazai can’t be trusted with a hammer or any other building tool.
It turns out really pretty, and Danielle is very happy with the end result.
And late at night when they’re laying in bed together Dazai, Oda, and Ango love to kiss and worship Danielle’s stomach. Danielle finds it really sweet, and cute but she doesn’t quite enjoy it when she’s trying to sleep.
“Guys the bump will be there tomorrow” “Shhhh, Danielle-chan let us have this moment with our child”
Breakfast in bed becomes a regular thing. Ango or Oda, since Dazai can’t be bothered to get up early, make breakfast for the four of them, while the other two stay in bed and cuddle with Danielle to keep her warm.
Basically it’s a time of love, warmth, and happiness in the household.
A/N: I honestly have no idea where these came from I just thought of them right of the bat. I might do more Burahai love pack headcanons later we’ll see.
Spoiler Alert! I’m gonna do more, ABO Headcanons come up next.

May I request Tiny Ango and Agatha being taken to the Cote by Taako for protection..but said Cote has been found by the invaders?( could be the orphanage people who run it ? Or others) I just really like the protective nature of it. Almost like reading it makes me feel safe too? Anyhow thank you for reading this
If there was any day that would be the worst one for a surprise inspection visit by the Fantasy CPS, it would have to be the day that Taako was sliding inexorably towards a full-on Luume rampage.
He was currently cooking everything in the kitchen whilst Angus, Agatha, and Carey flipped rapidly through reference material, desperately searching for something that would prevent Taako bonding with all the babies in the house. Carey and Killian liked Taako just fine, but not as a co-parent to their own daughter.
Both Orc and Dragonborn had rougher hides, and couldn’t finesse an Elf’s ‘off switch’ like an Elf or a Humanman could. The only other option was one of the children, and by the time he got near one, he would want to grab the other.
“Here it is,” Carey found the passage. “Co-parenting of a child by a more authoritative figure can prevent a parental bond forming in an Elf suffering luume’irma. This is it. One of us goes with and does most of the parenting stuff instead of letting Taako do it all.”
“Or I could just hide,” suggested Agatha.
“No, hon. He’d scent you out,” said Killian. “We’ve seen this sort of thing before. Unless Kravitz turns up to really distract Taako--”
“Gross,” said the kids.
“Yeah, we figured that wouldn’t be an option,” said Killian. “And I don’t wanna disinfect my kitchen again.”
“Babies eat,” singsonged Taako, bearing an overloaded platter of nutritious and delicious treats.
Someone knocked as they barged in. “Fantasy CPS inspection.”
Sniff? Snort. SNARL!
“Oh shit,” said Angus.
Taako quickly put the tray down and leaped over the couch to scoop up the kids, growling at the representative from the Fantasy CPS, and one of the staffers from the very orphanage both kids had come from.
If there was anything that was a worse threat to those children, it would be the slightest hint that they were going back to that horrible orphanage.
Taako lifted one kid in each arm, hissed defiance at the representatives for their alleged welfare, and bounded off towards the backyard, where he had built a cote some years prior.
“Agatha, go limp,” Angus advised.
“Luume?” said the Fantasy CPS representative.
“Luume,” said Carey, lifting up the tray. “I gotta go make sure he doesn’t adopt our kid. Okay?”
They let her go off with a wave of their hand.
Killian, attempting to remain calm, made tea. “So,” she said. “How does your organisation feel about moments of bad timing?
Meanwhile, up in the cote...
Taako sniffed at the entrance. Food. Friend? Friend. Yes. Let friend in. Babies scared. Babies hungry. Babies in danger.
“Bad people near,” he said.
“Ye-e-es,” cooed Carey-friend. “Bad people are near. This is the safe place. This is a good place.” She handed Taako a cake, and gave one to Agatha. “You feed your baby, I feed mine. Okay?” She urgently whispered, “Don’t let him feed you. Always look to me for that ‘kay?”
Agatha nodded, taking the cake from her Dragonborn mother’s hands.
Taako knew he could groom both babies, that was good. He could sniff and worry and guard. That was... allowed. He could feed his baby and keep him arm and comfortable and that was very good. He could purr up a storm for the three of them. And if he saw even the slightest hint of the dangerous outsiders, he would occupy the entrance and threaten them until they went away.
That was excellent.
*
Agatha stayed glued to Mom’s lap or wrapped around her arm if a lap wasn’t available. The passages she read had said she had to make the belonging clear to a being whose mental capacity was diminished at best. Mom was cool with it, always keeping at least one limb wrapped around her.
The cote was comfortable, Agatha knew. She used it as a treehouse once or twice. The food was great - of course it was, Taako had made it. Much though she loved Mama Killian’s cooking, Taako was the best chef in one hundred worlds. He did actually make the best stuff. Even when Int and Wis were his current dump stats.
She got to chatter - quietly - with Angus about how their home lives were so much different now that they had a home. How worried they were about Fantasy CPS and the orphanage taking them back.
At that point, Taako wrapped himself around Angus and groomed him towards calm, purring as soothingly as he could. Mom Carey had her own Dragonborn purr, too, and rocked Agatha in her arms as she singsonged, “We burned the receipts, you can’t be returned, it’s going to be okay... Mom’s gotcha. Mo-om’s gotcha...”
Agatha held hands with Angus as the conversation turned to whispers. Finally, as the moon shone between the woven branches, Mama Killian strolled into their yard. “They’re gone. You’re all safe now.”
Taako sniffed the air, snorted, and murmured, “Danger...”
In the end, it was a sleepover and campout. Mama brought up pillows and blankets and some fairy lights, and snuggled with Mom while they both held Agatha safe between them.
Angus curled up safe in his Papa’s arm, with Taako purring in his ear.
It was a good night.

Well, well... how about 1 and 8 with Kun—I mean, Sakaguri! For a change (I hope your mom gets better soon, btw)
awrhbasdfabr Yessss!! Sakaguri!! I was in the mood for them today, how did you know‽ but don’t worry I never get tired of kunichuu Thank you for the well-wishes! She’s already doing much better. 😊
“Stuffed Animal”
“Oguri!” Ango called out after entering. There had been no use for knocking on his door after his first couple of visits. Oguri always seemed to be annoyed by a knock more than anything. Ango dumped the groceries unceremoniously on the step before working on removing his dress shoes.
Oguri rounded the corner, a pen in his hand. “Ango. You’re a half-hour early.”
“My apologies,” Ango said, glancing at his watch to confirm. He’d been rather fast grocery shopping for once. “Today is busy for me.”
Oguri sighed, disappearing around the corner without offering to help with the bags. “I keep telling you not to bother.”
Ango shouldn’t bother. Oguri was under house arrest, not on vacation. But Ango really couldn’t help but offer to do something as small as this. Oguri tended not to eat much of the food given to him by the government and Ango wasn’t about to let him starve. Besides, Ango was mature enough to admit that he wanted to see Oguri every chance he could. He wasn’t mature enough not blush at admitting it, but at least he was honest about it.
He carried the bags to kitchen table and pulled out the items one-by-one. Oguri watched over his shoulder, making sure that things were the proper brands and whatever else he was specific about. He didn’t reject anything, which made Ango relieved. He pulled out the last item and looked out of the corner of his eye to see Oguri’s reaction.
Oguri stared at the small toy blankly. “What’s this?”
Ango felt like a fool for even getting it, so he had hoped Oguri wouldn’t ask. Still, he pushed the stuffed animal over. “It was free after a purchase of a specific price. I don’t need it, so I thought I’d bring it to you.”
“Why accept it anyways?” Oguri asked as he picked up the toy. Ango was surprised he touched it at all and it made him think maybe getting it wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
“I make it a habit to not turn down free things. But if you don’t want it—“
“I’ll keep it,” Oguri interrupted, placing the small thing in the breast pocket of his suit jacket.
Ango couldn’t help the upturn of his lips at the sight. He’d never seen Oguri latch on to something so quickly and it made him… happy. “Fine, then about that sauce you asked for…”
Ango was pleasantly surprised when he next arrived to find the stuffed animal by Oguri’s bedside. The time after that, he found it on the table next to Oguri’s manuscript, and after that it was back in his pocket. In fact, Ango never saw it out of Oguri’s reach, and that made him smile.  It was the best purchase he had ever made.
“First Touch"
Ango always seemed to cry in front of Oguri. He didn’t know why, and to be perfectly honest he felt a little guilty for it. It wasn’t Oguri’s responsibility to make him comfort him. However, their friendship was very give and take. For every time Ango broke down in front of Oguri, Oguri had break down of his own. Those moments of vulnerability were what brought them together in the first place.
“I failed,” Ango said, gripping his glasses tight in his fist, “People keep dying because of me.”
Oguri was quiet while he vented. Listening was all Ango needed.
“And I’m gonna fail the Armed Detective Agency, too, and my subordinates, and—“ Ango stopped himself, the tears slowing as he realized what he was about to say. His mouth went into a thin line, biting the word “you” back. He looked down into his lap, willing the tears to stop. There was too much flowing out of him right now. If he wasn’t careful, he was going to reveal too much
The feeling of a hand on his cheek made him take in a harsh breath. With an unbearable softness, Oguri’s thumb rubbed away the stream of tears. The touch made Ango completely incapable of moving. He could only stare down at his hands as the tears stopped abruptly.
His skin was burning. Oguri had never touched him before, and now that he had… Before he could stop himself, he leaned into Oguri’s hand. The tears started to flow again and Ango let them. Oguri wiped them away as they fell.

Do you... have any fluffy or general hcs/ideas of what Tsujimura's and Ayatsuji's interaction with the ADA would be like? You seem to be a genius with these characters and you bring them out to a t.
WAAAA THANK YOU!! Umm let’s see.
Tsujimura:
-  She would probably volunteer to make coffee for the entire agency without realizing it lol. Dazai would tease her to no end. Kunikida would secretly enjoy the coffee. Ranpo would ask her to help him take the snacks out of the cabinet.
- I think the children would love her, for some reason haha. Atsushi would find her intimidating at first but warm up to her real quick. Kyouka is attached the moment Tsujimura bought tofu for the entire agency (after Dazai skillfully convinced her). Kenji thinks she’s super cool. Tanizaki and Naomi would help her make the coffee.
- In general she comes for business but keeps getting distracted. In a certain way, she would probably become the second mom, after Kunikida.
- Dazai would casually ask about Ango and she’d be like “wait you’re that troublesome youngster he keeps talking about”.
- Fukuzawa would be pleased to know she’s a hard-working and disciplined young lady. I think she wouldn’t be so good with cats though.
Ayatsuji:
- Sits next to Ranpo’s desk (Fukuzawa’s way of disciplining both of them).
- Grumbles about Ranpo being a child but secretly wants to outdo him and impress the ADA.
- Teases Kunikida and manages to make him create several unnecessary items.
- Wary of Dazai at first, but thinks it’s none of his business anyhow.
- Kinda wants a doll modeled after Kyouka.
- Kenji thinks his dolls are awesome (which makes him secretly pleased).
- Atsushi asks about the origins of his dolls, and he’s too lazy to talk about each of them so he just comes up with a random spooky story.
- Respects Fukuzawa, especially since he can put up with so many kids.
