This is so unbelievably sad. Florida Rep. Angie Nixon called for a vote for a ceasefire in Gaza (which failed by 104-2), and when she asked how many more Palestinians would have to die, Republican Michelle Salzman replied, “All of them!”
We are, unfortunately, witnessing the worldwide rise of dehumanizing authoritarianism. A significant number of voters and politicians are actively cheering for genocide. The cruelty is the point, and the hatred is on-brand for Florida.
Here are some helpful reminders as you’re having discussions about Palestine and Gaza:
The Holocaust happened
Antisemitism is real
Islamophobia is real
Jewish ≠ Israel
Hamas ≠ Palestine
Pro-Palestinian ≠ antisemitism
Anti-Zionism ≠ antisemitism
I genuinely believe that none of us are truly free until all of us are free. Until then, may good fortune and grace continually fall upon anyone brave enough to speak truth to power, especially at the risk of their own personal safety and wellbeing. Free Palestine 🇵🇸

They're worried about their funding drying up? If anyone donates to the campaign of someone refusing to call for a ceasefire, cut off your donations. If you donate to the Democrat or Republican National Committees, cut off your donations.
In the box that asks why you aren't donating anymore, say that most politicians are supporting genocide. If it doesn't ask for a reason, send a call or email explaining why you're no longer donating.
This is insane!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A Florida Republican legislator (Michelle Salzman) literally called for the death of ALL Palestinians. She explicitly - on the House Floor!! - called for genocide.
Did anyone there object? No, they fucking supported her!!
Yet another disgusting representative of how infiltrated the IS government is with genocidally racist Zionists. How they manage to get elected is beyond my comprehension.
How did the American people allow these ghouls to have an irreparable level of confidence to spout genocidal rhetoric not just behind doors, but openly on record in government chambers? Meanwhile, any display of solidarity demanding the end of this exact genocidal violence costs people their jobs & even their lives.
This is the type of shit Zionists are doing in office while turning around and feigning outrage and demanding censures when someone says "from the river to the sea".
Rashida Talib, the only Palestinian member of the House of Representatives gets villified and censored by the house for begging her fellow reps to wake up and look at her own people dying and yet we have politicians freely calling for more to the pile??? These zionists are always so brazen with their genocidal intentions its insane to me that people still are pretending that this is anything else!
Americans, DO SOMETHING!

Hey Avi hope you're doing well. Good faith question, but as a jewish queer person in USA, What's your opinion on people supporting and sharing doxxing and indirectly incentivating cyber harrasment of actual zionists (with real and objective proof) who regardless of identity have actually supported the harm of the IDF and celebrated the Palestine Genocide?
And to be clear with the context so there isn't a misunderstanding with the meaning of "zionist" here: This is in refference to a very recent god awful moment in a congress? In which a goy (not sure if she's specifically christian but it's likely) republican woman shamelessly states that the I/P conflict will not end until all Palestine people are eliminated after she was asked so. And yes what I mentioned of her full doxxing being spread everywhere online and using that info with *negative* intents because of what she said is real.
i'm gonna unpack this a bit first and give some context.
michelle salzman, a republican representative in florida, interrupted her colleague angie nixon during a speech where nixon asked "we are at 10,000 dead palestinians, how many will be enough?" and salzman interjected "all of them." this is unquestionably a call for genocide, and if this wasn't florida i'd say people should be calling for her resignation.
that being said, there is no indication that salzman is a zionist. her office has not responded for comment, and i could not find any statements from her about if she believes that jews should have a sovereign state in eretz yisrael, so there is no evidence she is an "actual zionist", just that she is a racist piece of shit. in fact, when i went to try to find information about this, a bunch of the suggested searches and articles were about if she is jewish. so that should tell you something about how people are reacting to this, and the biases that are feeding into people calling her a zionist.
now all that being said, i do think it's wrong to dox people. even if they are horrible, horrible people. i think doxing is unethical, and i don't believe in justifying using unethical methods just because the person you're using them against has also done something unethical. i don't have an answer for what people should be doing instead because, unfortunately, this is in desantis territory so it's unlikely anything official will be done. but she absolutely should be removed from office and should face serious consequences for that remark.

Ahem…
… actually, what SCOTUS did with their latest decision was open the door to holding presidents accountable for unofficial acts that are unconstitutional and even treasonous… and many, many of these acts were committed by the likes of Clinton, Bush2, Obama and Biden; and none of these were committed by Trump. This is why Dems and RINOS, and the main stream media, celebrities and sports figures, and corporate individuals are all in an uproar, as they were all complicit and supportive of these president's unofficial acts
*I am certain that if you know the term SCOTUS, you also know what is a RINO **You will notice that I mentioned 'living' presidents. Unconstitutional and treasonous acts were committed by Bush1 and Carter as well ***You will also notice I did not mention Reagan or Nixon. Reagan committed unconstitutional acts, but did so in an official capacity… and you would have too if you had a Democrat gun to your head for 8 years
… the more you know

[Video ID: A video showing Angie Nixon, a Florida State Representative, speaking on the state House floor. The video cuts in with her saying, "We are at 10,000 dead Palestinians. How many will be enough? I also-." Her next sentence is cut off by Michelle Salzman, a fellow Florida State Representative responding, "All of them." After a pause, Nixon continues, "One of my colleagues just said all of them. Wow. One of my colleagues said all of them. One of my colleagues also stated that this is gonna dry up their fundraising if we vote on this resolution. I also want that- like that's what we've become in this state. That's what we've become in this state. Where we don't care about innocent babies that don't even get the opportunity to blow out their first birthday candle." End ID.]
I couldn't add the video to the other post I saw on this but it's been bothering me all day. A house rep can call for genocide out loud with no repercussions, but just yesterday Rashida Tlaib, a Palestinian American house rep for michigan was censured for simply saying "from the river to the sea." There is no justice in this damned country.
links to the original thread as well as a thread from Nixon about this:

Anyone wondered how many more Palestinians need to be killed before the people in power care?
Well we have an answer.
In America, State rep Angie Nixon gave a passionate speech about Palestine. That "we've reached 10,000 dead Palestinians, when will that be enough?"
Michelle Salzman, a Florida Republican confidently said "all of them."
No one stopped her.
No one said a word.
Angie couldn't even fathom the words being said to her.
But that's the truth.
They don't care, they see the Palestinians the same way Israel does.
As inhuman, as a threat.
And we need to hold these people accountable for it.
Because this needs to change.

Oh yeah, I finished the Blue Beetle 1986 run.
There was a bunch of stuff I liked. Like Ted's college roommate/bestie Takamoto. And Ted being a decent caring boss/willing to fucking throw down if you try to harm his employees. Giving ex-cons chances. Willing to look out for people's families and financially support them. And caring about homeless people (granted he failed to grasp the fact that he could infact do shit to help them).
Loved the choice to have Ted's Beetle Nest be right under the Kord Inc. building. And Ted's gods awful fashion choices, good fucking lords you have to actively try to pick colors and patterns that clash that badly. Also really like Ted with curly red hair, every other appearance of him in the DC universe should have curly red hair! It looks great and distinct.
Also the whole Ted vs Dan thing and Khaji Da being a mind controlling alien parasite trying to seduce Ted. The ending felt like a fucking cop out but most of it was fun and also Dan lasered a bunch of cops which was neat.
But there was also a bunch of stuff I hated. Like the unnecessary drama of Ted not telling his loved ones about his secret identity even when it became clear that it was causing issues. OG Ted didn't have those problems b/c he told his girlfriend/lab assistant which was hot new and spicey at the time narritively.
You could have had different more interesting drama with folks knowing! Imagine how the arc where Nixon banned superheroes b/c public opinion got turned against superheroes would have gone down if there were people who knew that Ted was a superhero? Like that fucking cop got to figure out Ted's identity but what did we get out of that other than Ted getting blackmailed by that cop to do dirty work for him?
There's a bunch of plot lines that never get resolved and as far as I know just don't get resolved due to folks not really caring about Ted's of solo run. Like, poor Mr. Calhoun does not get fucking rescued after he got horribly burned, forcibly mutated and given superpowers, then kidnapped and enslaved. I didn't see a single peep about Mr. Calhoun after the Titans told Ted to go home and things will resolve themselves eventually.
Just damn, free my mans Calhoun!
And like damn, no one at Kord Inc really thought about Jeremiah Duncan much after he got kidnapped by French people. And that doesn't sit right with me. Especially after seeing what Ted did for Angie and Calhoun when they were in trouble and even that ex-con that was trying to turn his life around. Like? The fuckle?
Also the entire ending of that run felt just ... that's both a downer ending and it didn't feel super in character. Like yer telling me Ted, Mr. 'Oh no my secretary didn't show up and didn't call out and this is very not like her I'm gonna drop by her house to see if she's ok' and Mr. 'Calhoun saved my life I'm going to ride with him to the hospital to make sure he's ok/I will fight all these fucking supervillains trying to kidnap my employee so I can get that man to a fucking hospital' would say fuck yall and dip instead of helping rebuild his company?
Sure, he's pissed off at his dad and his ex but would that spite really beat out every fuck he gives for all the other people that work for him? The folks he said were like family to him that he proved pretty well that he meant it through out the story? If he quits he cant take care of the ex-con's family like he promised to. If he quits what happens to Angie? If he quits Calhoun wont have a job to come back to and its not like he could get another after being turned into a metal skinned mutant.
Nah, I don't buy that ending.
What is Ted Kord other than a bundle of guilt and responsibility, seasoned with depression and self loathing, and covered up with a bright wrapper of quips and humor?
I'm not buying that Ted Kord would leave his people in a lurch just to spite two fuckers when he could spite them by being fucking awesome and taking care of his?
