the post i intended to write:

what i intended to write in the tags but is long enough to become its own essay:

howls moving castle is a transgender comfort movie for sure and spirited away is absolutely a classic but princess mononoke is My ghibli movie. i saw it for the first time as a single digit age child when the czech dub played on TV and i was probably too young for it, but because Animated Movie = Kid's Movie i ended up absorbing the most violent animated movie i had ever seen and i think it permanently changed my brain chemistry and i regret nothing, i was so deeply enamored with the large forest and its godly beasts, i was entrenched in the narrative of the curse that slowly swallows you up, and of course san was the coolest character i had ever seen in my entire short life and i had several OCs inspired by her vibe and design and several others ended up with similar face markings, like who out there is immune to feral wolfgirl with Knives? not me that's for certain. none of my friends had seen this movie and over the years i was starting to feel like maybe it didn't exist? how could something that left such a huge impact on me not make a dent in the world around me? does nobody remember the giant wolves and the moss covered forest and all the wriggly curse worms?? BUT THEN i found the dvd in a norwegian cd shop and the norwegian dub was out of sync and it didn't have a norwegian subtitle track so i'd have to watch it with swedish subtitles, which i did many many times, and one time some czech guys were visiting while i was watching and went heeeey it's princess mononoke! good movie!! and i felt tethered to reality again. i keep coming back to this movie and every time i understand it a little more, because of course a small child such as myself wouldn't understand much of the plot beyond Angy Wolf Girl Go Grrrrrr, and the more i watch it the more i find myself relating to ashitaka even though he didn't make as much of an impression on me as Cool Wolf Princess did the first time, and the world is cursed but we find reasons to keep living, and i know the "i'll slit your throat" "you're beautiful" scene is Iconic but almost every screenshot or redraw or gifset leaves out how san drops the knife and recoils as if the vulnerability of the confession will burn her, and maybe it's just very easy to Get me with two outcasts who can't fit in fully anywhere anymore find eachother storyline but yeah anyway i rewatched this movie the other day and it's still really good

every time i draw that angy dissatisfied voice From Within is shaaaaaaaming me going, "this is nuca. you know the art, RIGHT? you've seen the intricacies of the designs. part of its beauty is in its details. if you don't honour that, then how can you REALLY stay true to its spirit????"

and yes the art is HELLA cool and i really like it and it's got insane details that make things even more fun for the analysts in the crowd

even more impressive is the FANART because whOO seeing all these artists matching the skill of the source material?! hobbyists or whatevs drawin these fantastical gayboys in elaborate outfits and poses and everything you could dream of and more?? the anatomy! the colours! the careful attention to EVERYTHING! the hair strands and?? ALL FOR FREE? they are letting me see this for FREE ?????

so i can't help but feel a little inadequacy when i try to pull off the same thing

occasionally i'll try to draw.. idk. something similar to those magneefeecent elaborate fanarts,, or just as detailed as the original game art. ya know, the anime aesthetic really baked in there, but mixed with technical prowess!

i'll draw a pose. i'll try to draw several sections of hair according to actual gravity rules. i'll really focus on what they're wearing, and try to add the details of the shirt and-- oops, i forgot the 12-pointed necklace thing-- just put that in.. oh, shieb,it's connecte d to some sort of cascading sash -=um-- how is that fabric supposed to fold again? better look it up;; WAIT it's not actually fabric? it's ... sometimes, days later, i'll compare these attempts with my other drawings done in less time (the ones where i don't think too hard and don't bother with the details). and i'll find that i enjoy the simpler result anyway. ya think with all the EFFORT i put into the detailed one... wouldn't i jump thru mental hoops to justify my invested time? shouldn't i think, "oh yeah, i REALLY worked on this. it's not the best but i'm still happy with it. the time was worth it."

.NO???! I end up thinking, "that time was NOT worth it. i feel more fulfillment and joy from the simpler drawing. if i can accomplish that with less effort, why would i bother with the extra stuff?"

i'm no workaholic. lower-effort doesn't necessarily mean bad,..... right? just.. incorporating all those jingly bits and WOWEE TEXTURE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL AMBIENT LIGHTING AND COLOURSs takes a LOT outta me. then, am i willing to put in the extra effort to really improve those areas and make em as nice as those top tier taiwanese artists on THAT section of birdsite?!?! ...... not realy.... it's not... worth it. for me at least.. i'd rather focus on facial expressions . and silly interactions.

I just saw the most beautiful, the cutest romantic fairy tale movie in the past few years. Except for the bulshit nonsensical ending THAT WAS SUCH A BACKSTAB AFTER SO MUCH GOOD CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE MALE LEADS I FELT LIKE POURING BLEACH INTO MY EYES TO MAKE ME UNSEE THE WHOLE FUCKERY.

Ehm, anyways. I'll be rewriting the ending. Hell, i'll rewrite the whole fucking movie. I don't care. It deserved better.

It won't be a fanfic with our beloved daddies characters from anime and whatnot. I'll keep mostly everything as it is in the movie. Maybe improve it a bit. Besides i'm pretty sure not many people who stumble across my page are german so there's a big chance none of you will ever see the absolute beauty of that film (at least the first 90% of the movie...), you'll get to know and enjoy it this way :)

The Owl in the Tree

I walk up a road that curves away to my right, enjoying the blue twilight. There’s an Oak tree on the left of the path up ahead and a Barn Owl perching in its branches. I’m aware of him long before I see the heart-shaped disc of his face, as aware as I am of the tree itself, busily living and growing still, despite being over two hundred years old. One of the benefits of being a witch that I particularly enjoy is my awareness of the Spark of Life in everything around me. I was once asked (by a non-witch friend) if it wasn’t overwhelming, but I was aware of the Spark of Life in all things even before I was born. To me it’s as normal as breathing. And wholly comforting. The Barn Owl acknowledges me as I pass under his tree. Not in words, but in a warmth toward me in his mind, and I send warmth back to him. I’ve never been on this road before, but the vast folds of the hills as the road heads towards the mountains, the warmth of the Spring evening, the sheer explosion of Life all around me is heart-lifting. I find myself relaxing in ways that I never can whenever I’m stuck in towns and cities, which is why I rarely visit them. I feel like someone half-deaf when I’m within town walls – the Spark of Life is muted by the stones surrounding me, even if there are trees and plants (and people, birds, and animals) within. Life within a city always seems constrained to me, who grew up in a timber-built cottage in the countryside, the nearest town some twenty-five miles away. Still, it’s not every day that the Queen sends for you, and since I had done her signal service some months ago, saving her from a virulent fever that could have killed her off en route to meeting her fiancé, I could hardly refuse to attend the wedding when I was politely commanded to go. As I walked under the moonlight, I felt my spirits lift and my soul expand as if I could encompass the universe. Who knows, maybe I could.

A good friend sent me a greeting card with the above painting by Angie Rooke on it and it inspired this ficlet. I am hoping to expand on the character, a non-binary Witch named Wulfrun, and the world she inhabits, but as always, it depends on the whims of my Bitch Muse!

Good morning, I came to ask about Resident Evil Village. 👨 + 🔥 (Life Magic) + [YAN]

The male reader would be a representation of natural life, where he passes the plants and trees grow and spread, even in the cold winter the animals and plants manage to survive as long as he is near. He is always close to the events involving the forest, and manages to disappear in the forest being seen only when he wants to, making it impossible for the Lords to capture him by the orders of mother Miranda, he attacks anyone who tries to harm the animals or forest, impaling them with roots or even opening the ground to bury them, bringing animals and plants back to life so that the forest does not lose its shine. And the only time they were able to see his true form was not a mutation or a monster, but someone who resembles a dryad, with small branches and leaves for the body and several flowers among his hair and clothes made of a silk that almost it is transparent, something simply divine. Sometimes he appears to talk if they do something good for the forest, revealing to be someone kind to those who don't hurt his family (Trees and animals)

Broken Truth: A Dryad? I have never had a Dryad Ask before, this will be interesting and you want it to be a Yandere Story; I'll make Miranda the Yandere of this story - Alcina hates men...but Donna is my favorite... I'll do something with her in the end. Time to let the words weave together.

[Mother Miranda's Chapel - Meeting of the Lords]

"Welcome to this meeting, Children; I have summoned you today because something has come to my attention and I want you all to deal with it as soon as possible," Miranda said behind her golden mask as her blue eyes glared out at the 4 Lords of the Romanian Village - mere puppets in her grand scheme to revive her daughter, Eva. This situation however didn't have anything to do with the revival of her daughter...well..perhaps it didn't. This new objective could aid her in her mission of reviving Eva.

"What is this new objective, Mother Miranda? How can House Dimitrescu be of service to you?" Alcina - The Head of House Dimitrescu - asked with her cigarette in her hands safely secured in her cigarette holder before taking a puff and blowing the smoke in Karl's direction, making the 4th Lord growl at her in irritation.

"There is a man in the woods - I want you to bring him to me alive. He shall be the one to stand by my side and rule the village as my husband." Miranda said as a blush crept across her face, making the other members of the family look at her with confusion on their faces.

"A Man? What kind of man could be worthy enough to stand by your side, Mother Miranda?" Alcina asked - truly confused by her mother's request to find a man that lives in the woods - truly a primal man if she lived in the forest with no civilization. Why would she allow such a filthy male to stand beside her mother in a higher position than her?

"This man is no ordinary mortal - he is a supernatural creature known as a Dryad, a nature spirit that causes the life around them to flourish regardless of the condition the land is in." Miranda explained.

"A Dryad? In Romania? How is that possible and how did he go undetected for so long?" Angie asked as Donna spoke through her

"I am uncertain how he was unable to remain hidden from my sight for so long but I am glad that I found him. I have seen his power and his visage and I want him to be the one who stands beside me and rules this village; what's more, he has the power of life itself, and he might be able to aid me in reviving Eva. This is your new mission besides researching the Cadou and finding a host to revive Eva: Find this male and get him to join me as my husband." Miranda said as she looked at her children, who all nodded and rose to their feet before leaving the room, and Miranda was alone with her thoughts.

It has been 3 weeks since the meeting with Mother Miranda to find the mysterious Dryad and bring him to Mother Miranda, however, she hasn't had any luck in tracking him but she did notice strange signs that supernatural works were in the making. During her hunting trip with her daughters in search of Deer Meat, they found a pregnant deer grazing on a patch of grass in a field of snow - how could the grass grow during the months of winter? Daniela's mouth watered a the thought of deer meat touching her tongue when she lunged at the creature but was suddenly grabbed by a long root that shot from the ground like a speeding bullet and wrapped around her like a snake around a field mouse. The Other 2 Daughters and Alcina ran from their hiding spots and ran to help Daniela when they were also trapped by the mysterious roots - Alcina tried to summon her claws but she couldn't reach her daughters or herself.

Alcina watched as a figure walked out of the bushes - a male with lightly tanned skin as if his skin was kissed by the sun, snow white hair, and emerald green eyes dressed in a silk robe that covered his body except for his forearms and below his knees - reveal leaves attached to the skin on his exposed skin. This was him - The Dryad that Mother Miranda was looking for.

"The Rules of the Forest state that those who hunt for prey are not allowed to kill female animals or expecting mothers - surely you all knew this before you ventured into my forest." The Dryad stated.

"We're just hunting for dinner, does it matter what gender of animal we hunt?" Bela asked from her restraints.

"Yes, it does. Now, I'm going to release you and I want you to leave this forest & don't return; I care not how you get your meat from now on but you will not hunt for it here any longer." The Dryad said as he lifted his hand and called h roots back, releasing the Head and Heirs of Houe Dimitrescu to their feet. He turned to walk away with the deer when Alcina called out to him, "And what is it that you want?"

"Mother Miranda demands that you join her as her husband and rule the village with her. Come with me and surrender to Mother Miranda's Will." Alcina demanded but the Dryad just shook his head.

"I care not what your leader demands - I follow the Law of Nature, not the words of a grieving woman who believes she is playing god." The Dryad walked into the bushes with the deer and disappeared. Mother Miranda was going to need to find out about him.

"YOU HAVE FAILED ME! ALL OF YOU! HOW HARD IT IS TO COLLECT ONE MALE AND GET HIM TO JOIN ME AS MY HUSBAND?! WHY ARE YOU ALL SO FOOLISH?!" The Village Leader roared after getting the mission report from Alcina, another failure in getting her husband - the man who was destined to be hers and hers alone.

"Mother Miranda, he trapped my daughters and me in roots, if I attacked him, he would have most likely killed us." Alcina tried but Miranda wasn't having it.

"NO EXCUSES! YOU ALL FAIL ME!! You know what? Just focus on the Cadou, I'll worry about capturing my husband myself." Miranda said as she walked out of the room, her mind filled with images of the Dryad with a sick smile on her face, "You will be mine, my love."

Dave is a cat boy in spirit and nobody can ever convince me otherwise. Other than cat boy he is definitely snake boy, like- the noodle neck, the venomous fangs, the snake-ish eyes and the long wavy tail that I hope is snake like, the eating any tiny animal that gets too close to his maw when he's hungry... I hope the snake-ness I give my version of dave isn't too subtle, he even hisses like a snek in my brain stories when he's angy.. And the hiss has rattlesnake sounds in as well, because idk it's more intimating and cryptid tomfuckery. If you have any questions the answer is cryptid tomfuckery.

i think that the grave is her sister's, sunny, i read in an article where katy says she's going through struggles losing her sister who comes out to be her spirit guide and sunny happens to appear a lot in concept art and the art Tyler posted we see she has tears on her cheek while reading something supposedly Sunnys letter. At this point running around in circles just watching angies art profile just to figure out who all these characters are and looking through the behind the zag animation video in which they show a bit of a storyboard. The movie is giving Barbie and winx vibes, really nostalgic. <3 I can't wait to see it, also hoping they throw some funny pop culture references. Who would you like to see for the cast?
