i love your digimon, can i ask which stage you typically think of first or what usually inspires a line? I noticed a lot of historical aspects. all of them are so cool and well designed :) thanks for sharing them!!

a pretty standard answer, but i usually do think of the child level first. for some of my recent digimon that evolve into digimon inspired by greek titans, while i do have the concept in mind that i want this as the final evolution, i usually end up finalising the designs for the earlier forms first (and some of them are actually recycled from old scrapped designs! i’m very glad i could find a new lease of life for them).

tyrvamon and almacemon are the few times i think of a perfect level first..almacemon for example started as just a doodle for fun to be a counterpart to durandamon, but i liked its design enough and now it has a whole line! so yeah, sometimes i plan out whole lines but sometimes they just come together from different places.

Tbh, i think user @angemonn might be correct about her and she was a pen pal Wallace had once.

But it's also funnier to think he was lying.

Anyway, i do agree this might be 100% legit and he had a gf who taught him Japanese and he studied hard in order to impress her. This kiddo might be a trashy ladykiller (affectionate) but if there's something this movie here taught about him is that when he's determined to do something, he definitely takes it seriously to accomplish said goal.

So I found this while watching through the new trailer. In order to see it though, you need to slow down the trailer to about half speed.

With that out of the way, what is that digimon? I don’t have that good of a clue. It appears to be holy digimon, possibly a deva. Possibly, some kind of Meicoomon-like digimon.

Edit: It’s Meicoomon’s mega form. Thank you for pointing that out Kitsunefoxfire and angemonn.

The more interesting thing is the trailer is actually showing two different battles. The above pictured above and Ophanimon Falldown Mode taking something on.

Just pointing out quick but!-

The reason BlitzGreymon evolved was not just because of an 'energy spike', it was because of the environment they were in for that specific episode of DigiAdv 2020.

And Koushiro's presence during said episode {DigiAdv 2020 Ep. 36} (more specifically AtlurKabuterimon's presence and contribution of energy as well, but AtlurKabuterimon is intricately linked with Koushiro's own presence, so) contributed to that 'environment'.

(^ More specifically this 'odd' pillar of Light TM they encountered) {is also what helped contribute}, and it was very specific to that particular locations' 'environment'... (I'm also describing it {'odd'} basically how the characters involved reacted to it at start, but they did say some very specific things regarding the "environment" there)

I haven't gif'd the whole ep yet but I have pretty much 99.99 percent of it memorized by now, and I just find it notable to include this fact about said episode if we're discussing 2020!BlitzGreymon evolution (or related de-evolution) potentials specifically.

As for the rest of it I could comment but...

(Well, I might come back to those in my own posts, so yes, but I just wanted to point this out to remind about BlitzGreymon if that's ok!)

There’s an unspoken rule where every time a Digimon devolves, they revert back to the form they originally evolved from. It’s kind of a “sister rule” to the other unspoken rule, where Digimon always evolve to the same species, if not under extreme circumstances.

But if there is an exception to one rule, should there not be the same exception for the other? If a Digimon might evolve differently under extreme circumstances, should they not devolve differently too?

For example, remember when in Psi Agumon evolved into BlitzGreymon instead of WarGreymon due to an extreme energy spike? What if when Agumon then devolved, he turned into, say, a Guilmon (same attribute and color as Blitz), since the energy spike that caused the diverging evolution hadn’t completely passed yet? Of course, maybe Agumon would then later on evolve into a regular Greymon again, and then devolve back into an Agumon, since the energy spike would be long gone.

But what if repeated diverging evolutions became permanent?

What if a Digimon began zigzaging through species each time they evolved and devolved, kind of like in Cyber Sleuth, where you can devolve your Digimon into a different species than they started from, and then evolve them into something else again, and again and again– what would that be like? For the Digimon especially?

Or, what if the Digimon’s evolution diverged once from what it was normally, but then that evolution happened again, and again, and again– would that cause their devolved form to change permanently?

For example, after not just the SkullGreymon incident with Taichi, but also the repeated evolution experiments with the Kaiser, what if Agumon never reverted back into an Agumon again, but devolved into a Black Agumon? What if all those evolutions fundamentally changed something about Agumon? And what would it take for all of it to be undone?

If Agumon was tortured so much by the experimentations by Kaiser -the repeated forced evolutions into an angry, raging monster-  that even his devolved form would change, would that be apparent in his personality too? Would he be grumpier or angrier, sassier, more rude or downright just feral? Or, maybe just traumatized, from all the pain he had gone through?

And how would Taichi feel about that? Not just having his partner stolen and experimented on like that, but to see the still lingering pain on him like that, like a scar? How would that affect Taichi?

What would it take to undo that pain? Would enough love and theraphy make the pain go away, or would it really be a permanent scar? One they’d have to live with forever?

But… what if the permanent change didn’t require all that torture happen? What if all it took was just that one SkullGrey incident? How would that have affected Taichi?
