In breathless anticipation of whatever spooky tricks Barb and Alex will pull out of their witches hats this year, I’m reaching back to Halloween 2021 for the second installment of their dark winx club mini series. So while awaiting their next video which will probably be Libra, step into my way back machine and witness the underwater MAJESTY of dark Layla/Aisha!

Fate: the winx saga did our girls, especially our resident Fairy of Tides, so dirty and Alex and Barb have no patience for it lol.

“At the beginning of this year, fate: the winx saga came out on Netflix, and it wanted to portray winx characters in a darker setting. But I don’t think it succeeded.”

“I want our dark Layla to be spooky but with a lot of colors and bright features because that’s the vibe of the original winx cartoon. Colorful fashion and magical designs. I just want to show that you can make a darker rendition of a character and still use light colors and have fun with the design.”

“Layla is a fairy of water and our version will be an evil underwater creature. That’s why we don’t need her wonky loose legs.” *saws Clawdeen doll apart at the torso*

“We need to spookify her design a bit more. Skeletons are spooky right?”

“She looks great so far, but to be honest she doesn’t look like Layla with straight hair like this. So let’s fix it with plastic straws and bobby pins.”

bbyyyy SOTLK dresses redesign?

These were actually really interesting to work with, both in trying to keep colors and shapes from the original dresses combined with adding my own lore to it! Except for Aisha’s which wounded my so. I really wanted to keep her flowers but I just,, couldn’t get it to look right🥲 I added purple instead tho which is the color of the flower of andros, which is similar in appearance to a Camas Lily. They bloom in lush expansions all along the coast of the land of Androsia, where the mainland and sands meet.

Musa: Tang dynasty influence. Did my best to keep some of the shapes from the og gown. The 2 red dots that I’ve featured a few times in either side of Musa’s mouth in different designs represent loudness and boldness and are commonly used symbols in a lot of melody, which are traits one would want to represent when holding as representation for the different cultures of Melody, proud of their heritage and great unbending will.

Aisha: mentioned some above about the purple additions to be the substitutes for actual flowers. Kept the split down the middle at the dress itself, just changed its length and shape, trying to keep the shape of the original one some with the purple bits below the corset tho

Tried to keep more true greens than teals too. She deserves more sleek satin fits also. Most of the stuff I draw her in I imagine there’s satin I just decided to do shading this time lol

Tecna: I decided before even designing this I wanted to keep that jacket on them at all costs. Happy with the shapes overall here and really love the colors. Probably my favorite of these looks. Shiny pants and silk featured because they look good on them. To me, they aren’t Tecna if they don’t have some weird heels too.

Flora: probably my least favorite design just because I feel like I need to get better at giving them more variety in their outfits, but I did what I could to keep a lot of the shapes present. Instead of those 2 long flower strands, I just had them replaced with the split full of flowers down the side.

Bloom: empire waistlines are very much the norm in Dominion fashion with not as many ruffles or as expanded a gown shape as featured here, but Bloom is new to this and her parents wanted her to be as comfortable as possible for the celebration. Bloom got to have direct input on the adjustments to the dress and is living the princess dream she’s always wanted currently. She intentionally looks a little awakward as a result, the stylists doing what they could to accommodate what she wanted and mesh it with traditional Dominion fashion styles to reiterate that Domino is what she represents. The slightly more formal front hairpiece with the additional 2 gold curls is present to make the statement that Domino is so back and Bloom is even wearing the golden headpiece that the heir wears to show this. It’s not until after the party she learns it was Daphne’s, and that leads to some Insecurities and the reality of what reviving Domino actually means for Bloom. More spirals coming in waves after this point. As always with Dominion garb the cyan gems are for those of the royal family and purples are for those that work with The Dragon Flame.

Stella: by this point in the story, Stella really starts to get more involved with Lunarian stuff and connect with her moon culture. It starts small in her presentation, with certain cuts of cloth (the slope of the fabric on the top part of the skirt) and the style of some of her jewelry, specifically the one with gems that is tilted to match the fabric shape and the incorporation of more blue gems. She also stops straightening her hair all the time (her hair is blonde from her mother, whom is Lunarian, but the saturation comes from her Solarian genetics, making the color look like it’s from Solarian genetics. Straightening it to match the majority of Solarian hair was a sure way to make sure she passed as Solarian until someone notices her pupils, which are Lunarian. She no longer fears if she’s passing or not. She is learning to take pride in her moon side).

Stella choosing to have the little blue gems on the bottom of her gold gem dress bit instead of gold or more orange is a bold move also she is starting her proper journey to doing joint work and advocating properly for systemic change for Lunaria.

The most he could do was bring Andros inside to be around more people, people who could convince him of the things he couldn't. But once inside, he was confronted with another one of his children.

"Hey, Princess. How you holding up?" He forced a smile.

"I'm fine, Daddy." She forced a smile right back. "You should check in with Brick, and Millie. Especially Millie. She's hiding it, but I think this is hitting her hard."

"You think so too, huh? I was hoping I was wrong about that. But before I do—"

"Yeah?"

"How about you, and I talk first?"

"Me? I told you, Daddy, I'm fine."

"Are you? Because it's OK if you're not. Come on, how bout it, talk to me?"

Cordie hesitated as she thought about if she could talk about it.

And while she mulled that over, a pair of guests showed up on their doorstep, fashionably late.

With last minute filming commitments in mind, Diana Desmond almost couldn't make time for the homegoing ceremony of Henry Fletcher, but when she told her son the news the way he insisted they pay their respects was so out of character she made it a point to make an appearance.

"Well....it certainly isn't the ritz." Diana said solemly as she scrutinized the modestly country surroundings.

"We're not on vacation, Mother." Mathew said gruffly in return.

"I know, I just don't do particularly well with grief. I didn't even go to my own parents' funerals."

Matthew ignored his mother's apprehensions and took the lead on entering the cottage.

He was never this gung ho about anything, so much so it had Diana worried.

"This funeral isn't having an odd effect on you is it? I know death affects everyone differently."

"I mean, I know you didn't know Henry Fletcher, but you would be surprised how the presence of dead body can really have you rethink everything. I'll never forget that very special episode of 2 and Half Lllamas where Daniella died."

"I mean, it was a storyline, and she didn't actually die in real life till 2 years later, but having to conjure up real tears for that scene, I really had to go to a real place, ya know?"

"Yes, Mother."

"Are you even hearing me? I'm pouring my heart out all so you ignore me in favor of—"

Winx Club Rewrite: General Info

I understand this is me being very late to the party, but that's pretty on-brand for me at this point lol

A few years ago, I started to work on a possible rewrite for Fate: The Winx Saga but it soon became this monstrous project of rewriting the entire franchise. Because while this series is one of my beloved childhood series, it is also very messy with its world-building and plotlines, as well being done dirty over and over again by its countless reboots. As much as I would have loved to create a full-on alternative universe like the ones I've seen on tumblr for years, it just took up so much of my time that could have been spent on other projects and it was starting to feel more like a chore than anything else. Eventually, I did create some fashion boards for how to translate their outfits from the show into real life, and wrote up some concept ideas for their live-action costumes, which led to me just writing up the notes I had for the rewrite to share them with y'all.

Some of these ideas were inspired by other people's rewrite of the series, some of these ideas came to me while writing this up, and a lot of these are my attempt to make sense of Winx Club's fucked-up lore. While these were originally written with a live-action reboot in mind, these could also work for an animated reboot targeted for teens/young adults.

This is probably the extent I'll do for any sort of Winx Club rewrite, but it was still fun!

-There are five main planets which circles the giant sun of the Magical Dimension. Omega is the furthest planet (being more similar to a planetoid) and contains mostly wastelands, which act as different levels of imprisonment for criminals or ancient beings of darkness. Orez, Fallat, and Rot are also planetoids which circle the sun, being even further out than Omega but they were once seen as part of an ancient prophecy. Callisto was the first planet to be born (despite being the smallest of them all), and it acts as the setting for the series, as it is home for the city of Magix, three main schools, the Fortress of Light, Pixie Village, and the remains of Aster Dell. Lumenia is the planet which has Solaria (the biggest kingdom), Eraklyon, the wasteland which was Domino (located near the top of the planet), Dyamond, the island of Quartzia (a renamed Isis/Iris), and Romulea. Titania is the home of Zenith (its largest country), Melody, Oppositus, Hoggar, Whisperia, and Dolona. Valeria is the planet which has Andros (along with its dual kingdom of Atlantis & the small country of Tides), Linphea, Serenia, Prometia, Espero, and Ohm.

-Fairies are a group of magi would use their emotions and memories to fuel their magic, with their wings being created from their leftover magical reserves and the transformations are used to help fairies control their increasing magical prowess as they get older, especially if said transformation is used to help out in a certain situation. Witches are a group of magi who use religion, the elements, and other aspects of the natural world to fuel their magic; depending on what teachings they decide to follow, witches can follow different paths in life to help out in their societies. Wizards are a group of magi who similar to witches (hence why they attend the same schools), but they are known for combining both ancient forms of magic and science to perform spells, as well as using external magical conductors such as staffs or tattoos.

-Knights is the term to describe humans who possess some level of magic in order to wield magical weapons and possess some level of superhuman abilities (namely speed, strength, and agility), but do not possess the abilities to transform or perform spells; whether the knight is a male or female, they are all taught in hand-to-hand combat and weaponry. Specialists are co-ed knights who have been trained in specific fields based on their strengths and use technology-based weaponry suited for their abilities (with magical stones used to 'transform' into their armor and heighten their natural abilities), as well as study in the field of their choosing for potential job opportunities. After graduation, Specialists can continue their training through two different paths: Paladins (male knights who use more brute force and elemental-based weaponry, often being enlisted by the Fortress of Light or become guardians of the Omega Portals) or Valkyries (female knights who have been trained by professional spies and use two weapons, often being enlisted for political or wartime missions)

-Alfea is a school for fairies, Cloud Tower is a school for witches & wizards, and Red Fountain is a school for the Knights (including Specialists, Paladins, and Valkyries). All the schools are proper colleges, so the characters are aged up to be around 18-20 years old when they are introduced.

-There are people who have magic but do not fit neatly in the traditional groups. This includes Fanus (people with the ability to transform into animals native to their kingdoms), Magical Beings (such as elves, mermaids, leprechauns, pixies, ogres, orcs, etc.), Monsters (which include dragons, harpies, vampires, dryads, etc.), and Casters (those possessing strong supernatural abilities, usually having super-specific abilities or roles)

-Morphix is an unnatural magical source, created by the Pixies to protect their village. Helia is the one to control this substance, being the grandchild of Saladin and having higher magical capabilities than most Specialists

-The Nymphs of Magix do not exist, but instead, the Company of Light takes their place as the ancient society who oversaw the Magical Dimension after the Great Dragon's disappearance. Both Marion and Oritel were a part of this group (along with Faragonda, Saladin, Griffin, etc.), and Daphne would have joined their ranks if Domino had not been destroyed.

-The concept of Nymphs does exist, but it is seen as the final transformation for a fairy, with the only equivalent being death. When a fairy is so devoted to their magic, their spirit will separate from their physical form and become one with the magic which flows through their veins, thus becoming an ethereal guardian of their kingdom. As price for their devotion, their existence is erased from the memories of all who knew them.

-The Dragon Flame chooses its wielder, instead of it being passed down through one bloodline. When a new wielder is born, the current keeper of the Dragon Flame shall seek them out and help them get their powers under control, with them being gifted the Dragon Flame upon their 16th birthday. Bloom is the exception to these two rules, as she is the first wielder to have been born the existing one (Marion was mentored by Maya after receiving the Dragon Flame) and she was given its power upon her mother's death, with Daphne using a spell to hide her magic when she sent Bloom to Earth.

terezi: she/he, somewhere between butch and trans masc. she's in a huge coat, kind of like what crisis used to wear during flarps.

Jane: butch; imo Jane spends a while being a butch lesbian before going on T and becoming a he/him butch lesbian. she is embracing the men she once admired, after realizing she looked up to mustachioed gentlemen not with romantic envy, but gender envy.

Roxy: she/they titties, lol. Roxy is a beanie lesbian* (bisexual) to me. I also think bc of her knit dress, she's love to exist in a knit cardigan 24/7, here with a generic ribbed cami and denim skirt.

calliope: I think calliope will have phases with trying to present very femininely, followed by extend dysphoria; and vice versa. she's gender fluid, but only uses she/her pronouns because of separation from her brother. I wanted to parallel what I did with davekat, so she's in a blazer and sweater, too, but her style; a ringmaster tailcoat with a very long sweater that teeters between dress and top.

Masc or Andro

Drives me nuts when I run into a gaggle of queers my age and everything is this question of masc or andro. I show a photo of my partner and they say "andro". Oh why? Because they are smiling, because they are looking at me and feel trust? Because their shirt has a flower pattern? What is masculinity to you? Are mascs only people who are literally trans masculine or hyper masculine? And what am I? "Andro". All I think of are these willowy, theoretically sexual fashion figures.

Where did butch go? Another way to be a woman. Another way to be a man. The point is not to be toxic or neutered or toxic, a spectrum of the 3 binaries. Masc. Andro. Femme.

I say "I'm a sissy butch. I'm bad at being butch and I love it that way". The point has never been to succeed at something. I love failing at gender. I am not a performance of an idea, I'm just here and I love the transgression. Someone concurs "my femininity is like a gay man's". And in classic gender failure fashion I add "sometimes my femininity is that straight girl I lived as".

I say "I'm pulling from the legacy of butches in the 80s, 90s, the people I was scared of being and in awe of as a kid." What's wrong with coming from a history of gender failure? Why do I need to separate and delineate and why did we clean off this word, butch, make these new words with less baggage? The new words feel like surgical tools and I'd rather my blunt object.

Winx Club Next-Gen AU: Roxy's Kids

As won the poll I posted back in June, Roxy's kids are up next! Roxy and the next characters were ones I still wanted to include in this AU, but I was having trouble finding good ships for them with characters I haven't already put into a ship. So, these characters will appear as "single" in this AU because of that, but they may still have partners of their own, just not ones that will be seen or mentioned much.

. Magic Title: Witch of Camouflage

. Physical Description: short height with a slightly chubby pear-shaped build, long and straight dark magenta hair with her natural dark brown roots showing, slightly tan skin, light brown eyes, dark makeup, multiple ear piercings

. Bio: Oldest child and daughter of Roxy, currently attending Cloud Tower. As Roxy chose not to take over the throne of Tir Nan Og when she became of age, in favor for a simpler life, Grace and her sister grew up in a much less hectic environment. She enjoyed her peaceful childhood in Gardenia among the regular humans, but has been on visits to Tir Nan Og before and has become close with the crowned heir, too. When she was in her preteen years she had a hard time finding what sort of 'scene' or group she fitted in, as she felted pulled in many different directions but nothing stood out the most to her. That is till one day she stumbled across a couple of goth videos and fashion online, and almost instantly became enamored with goth culture. After getting a chance to explore her own style and identity, she has grown into a perky, bubbly, and friendly young lady, despite her gloomy appearance and dark interests. After she became a witch, she wanted to explore the world not only to look for ingredients for her potions and charms, but also to find beauty in the darker elements that most people would normally shun or shy away from. She has developed a small crush on fellow classmate Princess Coral of Andros, as her more chill and energetic nature sets a flutter in her heart the more they work on assignments together.

. Magic Title: Witch of Mimicry

. Physical Description: average height(taller than her sister) with a slim build that is only slightly curvy, chest-length and slightly wavy ashy blonde hair, fair skin, gray-ish blue eyes

. Bio: Youngest child and daughter of Roxy, currently attending a regular public school in Gardenia before planning on attending Cloud Tower in the next couple of years. Had more-or-less the same kind of peaceful childhood in Gardenia like her older sister, but unlike her she always felt relatively comfortable with her place in the world. She is considerably more down-to-earth and practical than Grace, having a more 'plain' style and calmer interests, but she has the same taste of adventure like her as she loves learning more about the world. Despite coming across quite sensible and unassuming, she is actually a huge science fiction fan deep down, having attended quite a few fandom conventions and even named her black labrador puppy Anakin. She has only recently discovered her witch abilities, but is choosing to wait a couple of years before attending Cloud Tower so she can continue to build up her magical abilities.

Will 1010 disband in 10-20 years? After all despite how human the team is, it’s unnatural for a music group to keep playing. What would 1010 be doing?

It's not completely unnatural for people to continue to make music for long times. It's uncommon sure, but not unnatural. There are still some bands 30 years later still making music (and even fewer with the original members but that shows there is still a chance 1010 could be around in 30 years).

But, yeah. I don't actually see 1010 staying committed to 1010 for no more than 15 years in total (at this point in the story their 10 year mark would be coming up, so they have about 5 more years to go before I see them fully splitting).

That being said, I do see 1010 going down their own paths after the band breaks up.

I can see Rin becoming a manager and/or member of B2J at first once 1010 breaks up since I see May and Zuke being musicians for a lot longer than 1010. However, I don't think Rin would be as happy with its decision as it could be in the long run.

The only other thing I can see Rin doing is being a writer. I can see it writing novels or plays. Actually, I can also see it as being a theatre actor! Not a movie actor, though it would probably be in a few movies at some point, but mainly a theatre actor!

Purl on the other hand would go kinda solo in the music department. Not in the way they are performing on stage alone now, but in the sense that they make music by themself and posts it online. It would be more of a hobby to get out emotions and frustration, with them not even connecting their real name to their channel because they don't want 1010 fans blowing up their comments or making their music go mainstream just because it was written by them. They want to just chill out and make music for themself, not for recognition. To Purl, music is everything and one of the few outlets that truly make them feel real emotions and connected with people (I think 1010 breaking up would be the hardest on Purl).

Other than that though, I see Purl working in some kind of art career. Mainly as a designer. Either designing clothes, characters, graphics, machinery, sculptures, animations. Anything like that where Purl can just create art would be something they'd want to do, especially if they can work remotely. Also photography. That would be something they and Cyril would work on together (Cyril is a wedding photographer when not working on Ex-Jay things, so Purl and Noa would end up helping/working with Cyril at times).

Zimelu would become a fashion designer. I can't see her becoming anything else really. Her and Celine would work as a designer and model for a long time, maybe Eve even helps the two also. Zimelu would create both high fashion for the elites of the world, but also street fashion that is affordable but also fashionable.

Probably even make gender neutral clothing. As in clothes that are styled in any way (masc/fem/andro) but sewn in a way that is comfortable for any body shape with sizes and alterations for any body type. She would definitely be trying to make an inclusive clothing brand.

Haym, ooooh. Hmmm. I can see Haym going a few different ways. He loves to cook, so I can see him trying to go into a cooking profession only to realize that is too stressful for him and not the pace he is looking for. He'd probably bail on that idea for a while just to try some kind of gardening/farming career.

Like I can see him working as a graveyard keeper or park ranger for a while before getting burnt out over something. He would end up working part time as a gardener somewhere but end up working in or opening a bakery. It's not as intense as professional cooking at a restaurant, but it still gets Haym's love of cooking satiated.

Also, I can see Haym being a model for a while. Model and actor, before he decides to go and try the cooking/gardening things. Heck, maybe he'd still stick as an influencer. I don't know why, but the idea that Haym learning how to sew and create things from Purl and Zimelu so he can start making and selling fursuits is also a funny thing I see him doing.

Finally Eloni would stick to streaming/gaming for a while after 1010 broke up. Already they get a lot of money through that, so that is a safe option for them to choose. However, over time I see Eloni getting burnt out a bit and stepping back from streaming.

She would end up going into some kind of engineering career. Probably something similar to what Neon does and help advance cybernetics and accommodation devices. She would still be streaming, just not as much.

Also as a side job/hobby I can see Eloni making video games. Probably just starting out with simple RPGs and platformers and then as his skills and confidence grows he makes higher quality games and stories.

A notebook for your dyke self (must)

Some andro/dyke clothing

It's nice to grow your body hair out, it's very dyky! but shaving cream and blades would help if you wanna experiment with body hair

A haircut that is mid-length or longer, hair tie and bobby pins. Or any haircut that gives you gende envy/euphoria. There's no bad haircut, be punk about it!

A plushie you can dyke-mode around

A comfort hoodie for your dyke self

Some muscle t, croptops, cargo pants, flannels, leather or denim jacket, and converse or boots

Makeup if you want! (you don't need to do full-face makeup) since dyke fashion might be similar to trans masc fashion in some ways, your underwear and makeup could really ground you in your dykeness!

A necklace/bracelet for your dyke self! Could be anything punk, pride-related, band merch, anything metal, crystals, pronoun pins, it's up to you!

Listen to the music, watch the shows in a queer-fem perspective. How does the plots or contexts relate to you differently if/when you're a queer-fem? You can also watch your regular favorite shows and feel that difference. You can connect to the world as a dyke, and it doesn't have to be sexual or degrading.

PS. I said "feminine artists" because femininity can come from gender-diverse people. It could be made by non-binary people, and please consider trans or queer women's work too.

Have you prepared the above? You can go into this immediately, or you can give it 1-2 days to settle in first. When you're ready, we are having a day out.

It could be a museum, a park, a library, a neighborhood, a concert, a tourist spot, a cafe etc. Repeat to yourself the name and the pronouns you want to experiment with, and try to perceive and interact with the world as them.

You don't need to be extra feminine, or visibly queer, or pass to have this day out. Try to imagine a trans woman just starting out on her transition, she might not fit into society's gender or passing expectations, but you would still be supportive of her. Support yourself the way you would encourage her if you get dysmorphic, worrying that you do not pass or look weird. You're okay. There are many ways to be a dyke and a human.

It might be hard to look visibly queer, when you've been on testosterone for a while, and your outfit might be too gender neutral for you to pass as dyke, but that's okay! It's not necessarily about how you're perceived, but how you experience today for yourself. Again, I find underwear and makeup very grounding and validating.

Let yourself take it slow and enjoy this day as a dyke. If you have any thoughts, worries, things you wanna try, inspirations, write it down in your dyke notebook. Let your inner dyke be heard. Let yourself get inspired by them.

I find it a beautiful experience to experience queer-tomboy-ness on my own terms. In the past I was so reluctant to identify with tomboyness or being a masculine woman, because I am a boy in the inside, but due to my anatomy and gender presentation, I am only seen as a masculine woman, and it has made me too dysphoric to revisit butchness. I have spent quite a lot of time wanting to enjoy masculinity in a gender-diverse way, one that allows me to connect with my femininity, one that allows me to connect with my wlw energy, which didn't feel like an option to me. Personally, I now identify as a boy dyke (in a genderfluid way).

Being a dyke outside of bed can bring up a lot of shame and imposter-syndrome, and they're completely valid, and they are feelings that need to be sat with. But it could also feel empowering - Look at me, I have very masc-passing features, but I am still in touch with afab features, and wlw energy, and I am a mix of gender right now and yet here I stand. And you know what, being in leather and muscle t makes me feel very powerful too.

You can enjoy the non-sexual aspects of being a dyke, and you're allowed to enjoy them.

I have tried this and have come back with a lot more appreciation for myself and my femininity. I have come to realize that my femininity is more than the trauma that she experienced. And there is in fact a lot of life and joy in her than I expected. And on the other hand, sometimes I come back soaked and excited. Go on, ride your hand, touch yourself in your girly clothes and bra, you've earned it.

Being a girl outside of bed can be exhilirating and empowering. It makes my post-nut clarity after gender play feel lighter too, it helped with my self-hatred and let me be less shut off. It doesn't have to mean you're detransitioning irl seriously. Remember that people who like pup play also like non-sexual pup activities such as eating from dog bowls or petting. You can enjoy the non-sexual aspects of being a girl, and you're allowed to enjoy them.

I hate how obvious it is they’re trying to tone the show down completely to even lower audience demographic. The first 3 seasons were for kids but there was actual peril and darker concepts and stuff that were much more interesting damn you Nickelodeon and your desperate attempt to keep the most squeaky clean image ever not only does it not work it’s costing stories and plot

I REFUSE to believe Stella would be a bad fashion designer with how much she loves fashion (I know it was a joke in s1 too but I still refuse). Plus, avant-garde is a thing and she would serve

That boat that was sent from Andros was def made exclusively for the winx there is NO WAY that style exists anywhere else on that planet for land related peoples with all of its hard lines and industrial style architecture with its limited color palettes

The nautical themed outfits are cute but Bloom’s looks SO overdone to me and Stella,, my sweet babygorl,, wtf did you do to your own fit?? Aisha’s poodle puff braid ftw also

Harmonix was totally useless BUT I still like the flower petal aesthetic vibe (even tho only Flora is a nature floral lady) and some of the color combos. Bloom in pink is still a no tho, which is something I mainly hate because of how obvious it is they started integrating it into her more to make her more marketable for toy lines and shit

🌊 Aish hairstyles 🌊

Literally oh my fucking god the designers can't think of more than three fucking hairstyles for Aisha, if I never see her with twin puffs again it will be too soon. Put her in a unique fucking hairstyle you assholes. This anger at the complete lack of interesting hair for Aisha is what sparked me to do this series in the first place. Just so I can show how fucking cool her hair could be if they weren't fucking cowards about it. Unsurprisingly this one took me the longest, with all the braids I had to line and color (tho it didn't take as much time as expected), but it was a lot of fun to do. I was easily the most excited to this one for obvious reasons. She looks great. I went a little ham on the gold jewelry but Aisha deserves it ok?? Her hairstyles in the show are so dull, she needs some fun

Side note, Aisha has the second longest hair out of the Winx, longest naturally, but it isn't visible due to how coily Aisha's hair is. My hair goes from barely toucing my shoulders to below my sternum, and my hair is curly as where I draw it Aisha's the 4 range. So yeah, her hair gets like at least 6 inches when straighten, going all the way to her butt. I also challenged myself to style her edges differently with every drawing djsjs which you can probably tell

Anyways on to the individual styles

Classic Aisha: this is the hairstyle I've started to usually draw Aisha in. Sporty and practical meet fun and feminine! I also gave her a nose piercing bc she, Musa, and Tecna have the vibes, and to fit the slight vibe of Andros. Aisha's hair in canon usually looks like it's on the low side of curly, and the reason why is made p clear by the miss magix ep and s8/WOW, so I decided to give her tight coily hair. Btw yeah that's her s2 camping outfit

Twists Aisha: this was my first foray into drawing this hairstyle, I usually draw dreads and box braids in this area, so it doesn't look super good but hey I tried jdnsjs. I wanted to stylized them so I'd didn't spend years trying to finish them, and you can visibly see me give up on that with the next drawing, but I think if I were doing a comic or quick doodles this is what I would go with. Anyways, I did this one because it really makes me think of Aisha athletic nature. Idk they just look super athletic to me, and I gave her a little extra ponytail for the fashion of it. Sporty chic

Mermaid-y: When I first drew these braids with the flat bottoms, they kinda looked like Mermaid tails to me?? So my brain was like, Aisha in her mermaid era <33. So my heart is set on her having this hair during s5, mermaid season, mermaid hair. It's literally perfect. Also I thought this top was super cute. This is where I really went overboard with the gold, but she's in her mermaid era, princess, guardian fairy, and dame. She can have a little (lottle) gold, as a treat. She deserves it, she's been though a lot lately with her family and Nabu being in a COMA. Some fun hair is good for the soul

Date night: light rage. They put Aisha's hair into pigtails for every causal event that happens and it inches across my last nerve like you wouldn't believe. Much like how that uniform outfit ruined one of Musa's hairstyles, pigtails feel ruined for Aisha, but making the. Apart of a braid really lessoned the blow. Half of me wishes I did a head wrap instead, but I can't just not include them. The outfit is super cute tho. She's going on a date!!! Yess!!! So pretty. I'm so happy with her earrings and dress. She and Nabu are gonna go have a picnic together, it's gonna be great

Box braids: I just got my braids taken out this Friday, which was fun (it hurt a lot, especially taking the small ones out ;-;) and I think it's a really good hairstyle for Aisha. I used to think that they'd be super impractical due to being so long, but because they're so heavy they're not actually annoying to deal with at all. They don't move all that much and they don't really get in the way. These would work perfectly for Aisha. Giving her the long hair, and the practicality. Absolute win! Of course I had to go for her outfit from her date with Musa. These kinds of braids always make me think someone has an important event coming up or they're trying to look cute, and a first date is a perfect occasion. I had so much fun with the earrings and braid decorations

Work out: I wanted to go for something simple, less fancy, and that doesn't require braiding, for of her hairstyles to just like her hair be itself and vibe. Here it is in a classic half up half down look, completely unbraided and vibing. Outfit slightly inspired by Serena Williams's entire aesthetic, including the headband. I didn't wanna put her hair over her shoulders, which admittedly looks a little weird but I wanted the high low part to be clear fjsjdnd

Poodle puffs: Personally I think Poodle puffs are really hard to styles, because it's hard to get the size of the puffs right without going too far in either direction. I think I got it right here? I think four is a good number of puffs. This is probably one of my favorite looks, mostly because of how warm and royal it looks. I'm a sucker for shiney jewelry and warm colors. I think this one came out especially well, I love the earrings, and the dress looks really good! I was worried it was gonna look silly but thankfully it doesn't

Bantu knots: She just looks gorgeous here. It adds so much to her orginal red carpet energy. Her hair is now all done up and fancy. Her nose ring also adds to the energy. I really like the earring, despite how lopsided it is lol, but I do wonder if it was a little too much for such a elegant outfit? Idk. Either way I didn't do anything to this look because I love it and she looks amazing. Not thoughts, head empty, bantu knots pretty

Princess Aisha: Hehe this one is probably my favorite out of all the hair. Not the outfit top XD. I don't like poofy European dresses rip. I got to go as fancy as I want!! I feel like Aisha usually tries to stay away from super fancy and complicated one event only hairstyles (which is why she usually goes for protective hairstyles she can wear for a while with low maintenance before needing to change it), but she's making a formal appreances, which means I can loop a gem into her hair. I also got to put big gems on her outfit and earrings which was super fun. This perticualr hairstyle always looked super royal to me and I had to include some proper beads on the look too. They match the gem she's wearing. Extra royal look. Her headgear as a child did something similar, but now that she's older she can just get proper braids put that do what the head gear was doing but better. Also can you tell that I was worried about getting too close to the edge of the page XD

All three have the Crunchiest Worst bleached blond hair at default with dark roots showing on masc and andro characters

Femme is gyaru hair but with the clothes of those Japanese girl gangs with the long skirts vaguely mixed with uk punk aesthetics

Masc has the most pathetic little stubble which is Dope for their age but obviously pathetic when you join a crime organisation full of adults with better facial hair

Hair dye is available to customise by buying in shops but there’s no “normal” colors, they’re all some color of manic panic and it always turns out passable but like you’re already working crunchy bleached hair

Clothes follow the x/y logic where there’s themed clothes per area and there’s a whole set of it and it’s all funky (fucking hated scarlet violets clothes, big boring, I’m a fashion man) and there’s no restrictions on which body or pronoun can wear what

I think dialogue would change if you choose like masc with he/him and a like fairy themed dress, there would be comments about it being strange but sure it looks tailored so it fits well, makes your shoulders look gentle instead of muscular

Also two modes

Silent protag mode and character mode, silent protag is the normal Pokémon but character mode has the three bodies experiencing maybe simple but still unique story arcs

Watching a Pokémon challenge video and just thinking about a really stupid fan game like set in Big City but also Traditional and mc is a trouble maker who wanna Fight because it’s Fun but also loves their Pokémon real much and there’s only one game but two or three routes that locks you in to box legendaries and it’s when you get too big for street fights and join the mafia

Like this kid is like 15-18 and Pokémon is more of like the intimidation factor cuz unless you force a battle my guy is just gonna mug you at knifepoint

There’s no world ending plot, the Evil Gang TM is just a rival mafia group who has taken over the gyms or are gym-like mini bosses, they’re also not inherently more evil than your mafia group, hell they might even be the group you choose to not join and you get another perspective of them depending on route

It’s set in like one or two towns instead of a full region but it’s still formatted like a pre-galar map just that instead of different towns it’s different districts in the same town

Winx Club - Inconsistencies & Questions I have

I thought I’d list down some inconsistencies I’ve found in Winx Club, mainly because they are so busy making the show marketable. I may be an original fan but don’t think I didn’t notice these things. Feel free to add other inconsistencies you have noticed @cyithrel Seriously, if I rewrote Winx Club, I could add so many new headcanons.

Why was Stella on earth in the first episode? We never found that out.

For being such an emotional person, how come Bloom only discovers her powers at 16?

Is Flora a princess or not? In Magical Adventure she says she is. She was invited to Domino’s Restoration ceremony where I imagined people thought she was a princess but her parents are botanists.

Musa is not a princess but I’ve heard she was.

Tecna isn’t either but I swear she was one in the comics.

Why does Aisha’s name change per country. I grew up with the show in French so I met her as Layla but in English, she makes sense as Aisha.

Daphne. She doesn’t make sense either. In Nick, she wasn’t Bloom’s sister yet she is in the general canon. It makes sense if she was her guardian fairy or even fairy godmother. Why is she blonde if neither of her parents are?

Roxy may be a Winx but she also isn’t. She’s only a clear member in season 4.

Do people hate witches universally? And yet why is Cloud Tower a popular witch school if witches are hated? Or is there more to the lore that we just never got an explanation for. Maybe the witch hatred changes from planet to planet. Eraklyon for example, hates them.

Are fairies and specialists considered better? Because this would explain why partly why the Trix want to take over the magical dimension cause they’re tired of the mistreatment of witches.

The Trix are super inconsistent: originally they were supposed to be the Ancestral Witches made young but that was scrapped. If each Trix is fashioned after each ancestor (ie Lysliss is Icy, Darcy is Belladonna and Stormy is Tharma,) then it doesn’t make sense for the Trix to be sisters because that would mean each Trix is descended from three different lines. Are the ancestors even related?

The writing just adds new lore that just throws off or away established parts of the canon. Like Erendor being responsible for Domino’s destruction. That should have been revealed in season two and made Eraklyon be Bloom’s ally for its restoration.

Some of the transformations don’t make sense. Obviously they were added for marketing. Sirenix is an example of a lost transformations since Daphne and Politea were the last ones before the Winx. What tf about Bloomix or Mythix.

Mythix could be a transformation the Winx discovered. Or at least unlocked since the Great Dragon roamed the universe and fairies came to the universe. Eldora or Nebula didn’t seem to be aware there was a transformation attached to it.

Bloomix could be a new transformation… (Fucking named it after Bloom.) But then how would Faragonda know what it’s called. Maybe it’s a super rare transformation. Dragon Fire wielders might even rarely earn it.

I understand and even admire the concept of Enchantix being earned through a sacrifice for someone of your own planet. By why from someone from your planet specifically? Who was it that wrote Bloom could have sacrificed herself for someone on Earth since it’s practically her planet too. And how can I explain Tecna sacrificing herself for Andros. Either she’s part Andros (which could make her part mermaid 😁) or the rule isn’t as clear cut as Faragonda made it.

What’s Brandon’s deal? How did he get to be Sky’s squire. And why is he a squire? I swear he looks like he is better than Sky.

Where the fuck are all the boys from? I refuse to have them all be from Eraklyon. Timmy could be from Zenith too. Which leads me to wonder why are they just eye candy? Maybe it was just of the time.

Oh and about the girls’ ages. If we follow general convention that each season takes place a year apart from each other (making the girls 23 by season 8,) or we just count the years and take into account the years of hiatus which would make the girls around 30 by 2022.

Why are the Major fairies part of the lineup in season 4 if we only meet them after like episode 20? Diana, Morgana and Aurora could have been cool additions to the club. But what about Nebula. Seriously why are they there?

Does anyone remember a season 4 opening without the major fairies or just me? Because I swear it’s a thing.

Switching transformations should have been a thing since season 5 instead of insisting of staying with one or two transformations per season. For example; Enchantix is the baseline and can allow for some of the basics of other transformations (like allowing for magic underwater and breathing in space.)

What the fuck is with Nabu? He should have been back by now. I refuse to think he’s really dead when Morgana and Nebula promised said they’d watch him until he woke up again.

Why can Daphne control the elements? Is that a power an ex keeper of the dragon flame gets? I still feel like Bloom has other powers she hasn’t unlocked yet.

Flora… About her magic, she seems like her only power involves plants. If she’s the fairy of nature, she must have other powers or she needs to change her title, something more than fairy of flowers and maybe more specific than fairy of nature.

Stella. She’s barely got moon powers. Is her sun half more overpowering? And how does it work. I am starting to see why Nickelodeon decided to just let her go by Fairy of the shining sun.

Aisha: how did she decide on her diary title? How did she learn about Morphix. Can it affect water or Morphix its own thing. And can it be given away like the Dragon Fire?

Why are the Winx fighting Darkar before Valtor? It seems to me Darkar is more powerful and dangerous. It always comes back down to the Dragon Fire.

How does a magical being choose to be a fairy or a witch? Mirta was able to do and I remember another fairy moving to Cloud Tower. I just don’t remember her name.

Why is Eldora the only fairy godmother on Earth? Why did she choose Earth of all places. Does she know of the horror that happened there? Where is she from? Magic? She could be from Linphea. She should have been Flora’s fairy godmother, not Bloom’s.

Wtf is up with the Winx being students in seasons 5-8? Stella would not stand for this, she hates studying. She wouldn’t have agreed to do this unless she was forced. Is there a program at Alfea for Guardian Fairies that I don’t know of?

What’s with Tecna, Musa and Stella being fairy godmothers in those old introductory files on the Winx Club website. Apparently they’ve evolved since Enchantix. How does that happen? Is it because of their sacrifices being more dangerous than the other threes? It’s not a power thing. I know for a fact Flora is more powerful than those three.
