LOOK UP✨✨
Since ceiling fans are not within immediate viewing scope, it is easy to neglect cleaning them on a regularly basis. Not to mention, when the fan is turned on, there’s no way you can see the amount of dust that has accumulated on each blade.
Despite those factors, it is important to clean your ceiling fan on a consistent basis because it has a significant impact on our health. When a dirty and dust mite ridden fan circulates the air in your home, you then become susceptible to breathing in polluted particles. Clean fans are especially critical in homes with family members who suffer from allergies.
Get in the habit of cleaning all the ceiling fans in your home. The process is fairly simple and will ensure that your fans last a long time as well. Apply the tips below when you clean your ceiling fan.
1) Safety First: Depending on the height of your ceilings, use a ladder to help you reach the fan blades better, and make sure someone else is present to spot the ladder. It is also imperative that you don’t forget to turn off the fan, as well as any lights that are attached.
2) Prep and Protect: Gather the appropriate cleaning product, which depends on what your fan blades are made out of, along with the desired cleaning tools – cloths, extended reach dusters, old pillowcases, etc. Make sure to cover any nearby household items before you begin the actual cleaning process because the dust particles will fall off the blades easily.
3) Wash and Wipe: Spray your desired cleaning agent onto the top and bottom of the blade, wrap the pillowcase or cloth around, and use your hands to grasp the blade while sliding off the accumulated dust. You will most likely have to repeat the wiping step a couple times in order to remove all of the dust particles.

What we do:
In your home, your cleaner uses a sanitizing solution to wipe down light switches, doorknobs, bathroom surfaces, and other commonly touched areas. We clean and sanitize your home using products that include certain Environmental Protection Association (EPA) registered disinfecting products and specific cleaning methods, such as mopping with microfiber mops, which have demonstrated a 99% reduction in bacteria.
We are telling our cleaners to switch out all cleaning cloths and mopheads between homes and thoroughly launder them between usage.
We give our cleaners the opportunity to wash their hands with soap and water and use antibacterial hand sanitizer between homes.
We are closely monitoring national, state and local health agencies for the most recent developments and following the guidance of government and public health officials.

CLEAN AND DISINFECT
Many of our customers are working from home or self-quarantining, This has caused an great amount of cancellations, with more families deciding to clean their own homes than usual during this ongoing pandemic Luxury Home Cleaners want to ensure our customers are doing both cleaning and disinfecting.
See below for tips
Cleaning is removing dirt and some germs from objects and surfaces.
Disinfecting eliminates germs on surfaces and objects, and sanitizing lowers germs to a safe level.
Any disinfectant product must meet government specifications. If a product meets the government’s criteria, then there will be an EPA registration number on the container.
There are three types of disinfectants:
EPA registered chlorine beach. This is effective when properly mixed with water and used on clean surfaces.
EPA registered disinfectant cleaners. These products have ingredients that remove dirt as it kills germs.
EPA registered disinfectants. These are effective on clean surfaces.
Children’s toys should be cleaned and disinfected after they are used. Blankets and stuffed animals should be washed in hot water and with chlorine bleach if possible, dry the items on high heat at least once a week if someone in the house is sick.
Stay away from Mixing bleach with vinegar or ammonia these chemicals create toxic fumes that when inhaled can cause coughing, shortness of breath and even chest pains, Mixing bleach with rubbing alcohol creates chloroform, which is highly toxic.

How Often Do you Change/Wash Your Shower Liner?
If you’re like many people, the answer is not that often. You may not even be aware that it’s possible to wash plastic shower curtains, which means you probably replace like we do when they start to get dirty.
🧽Good news: You can wash a plastic shower curtain and the process isn’t that difficult.
We have tips below to discover how to get a clean shower curtain so that you don’t have to toss out every few months.
🧽Pretreat Your Shower Curtains
Pretreating your plastic shower curtains can do wonders in preventing nasty buildup from soap scum.
When you get a new plastic shower curtain, run it through the rinse cycle of your washing machine with a little bit of distilled white vinegar. You’ll want to set the water to warm—not hot—because the last thing you want is a melted shower curtain inside of your washer. You may also want to look in on the curtain after a few minutes to check the temperature.
After the rinse cycle is complete, simply hang the clean shower curtain or liner on the shower curtain rod to dry. The pretreatment should keep your shower curtain from getting scummy as soon as an untreated curtain would.
🧽How to Wash a Shower Curtain
There are two different methods you can use to wash a plastic shower curtain, and both are fairly painless.
📌Method 1 —
The Washing Machine: Wash your shower curtain in the washer using warm water combined with vinegar, baking soda or gentle laundry detergent. Note: Pick one of the three cleaners listed above. Do not use all three at once. You don’t want to cause a science experiment volcano or a nasty chemical reaction in your washing machine. Afterwards, hang your clean shower curtain back on the shower rod to dry.
📌Method 2—
Handwashing: You can also wash your plastic shower curtain using baking soda and a microfiber cloth. Dampen the cloth and then sprinkle some baking soda on it. You’ll use this cleaning solution to scrub the entire shower curtain. After scrubbing, rinse with warm water and revisit any patches of soap scum or hard water stains that are left with the cloth and baking soda. Rinse again until you have a clean shower curtain. This process also leaves a nice fresh scent in the bathroom.
🧽How Often Should I Wash My Plastic Shower Curtain?
More often than you think. After all, you come face to face with your shower curtain or plastic liner on an almost daily basis. Ideally, you should be washing it once a month. At the very least, however, you should aim to clean your plastic shower curtain once every three months. When you think about it, four to 12 times a year isn’t really that often and the process shouldn’t take long at all now that you know how to wash a shower curtain.
Keep in mind that washing a shower curtain will help keep it free of soap scum, but mildew is another story. If you’ve noticed mildew on your shower curtain be it plastic or cloth don’t fret.
Use these tips on banishing mildew from shower curtains so that you can bathe in peace.

Are you using disinfectants the right way? Applying a product and wiping it off will kill the dangerous germs, right?
Actually, no. People often use disinfectant cleaners improperly, which can mean they're simply spreading the germs around instead of killing them🦠
All disinfecting products need to stay wet on the surface for a certain amount of time to kill bacteria and viruses. This is called "kill time", "dwell time" and/or "contact time" on product labels.
Kill time varies depending on the product, and often even between products made by the same company.
🧽Remember, disinfectants only work while wet.
If a disinfectant dries quickly, you'll have to reapply it until the kill time is reached, according to EPA regulations (and, often, the product's label). Many of these products also contain alcohol, which can cause the liquid to dry quickly. This can make it difficult to keep the surface wet without re-wiping multiple times, so you're better off using a spray disinfectant cleaner.
Disinfecting wipes are popular for their convenience, but their label directions usually instruct you to leave the cleaning surface visibly wet for 4-10 minutes, in order to fully eliminate
dangerous illness-causing bacteria.
How often do you stand and wait to ensure your wiped surfaces stay wet? If it dries before the kill time is met, then you haven't actually disinfected anything. Illness and disease-causing pathogens could still be there.
Don't take chances with your family's health.

Spring Cleaning More Important Than Ever
Tumblr media
With America being under mandatory stay-at-home orders, anyone with a non-essential job has suddenly found themselves with lots of extra free time. We can't think of a better way to spend your time other than cleaning and disinfecting your home.
Some parts of your home can go months without a deep clean: window treatments and even the oven can get by with regular light cleaning from week to week. But when spring rolls around, remove months of dust and grime from these forgone spots (without blowing the entire weekend doing it) by following three rules of efficient cleaning.
Here are four things you can spring clean in the next 10 minutes. Ready, set, go!
Dust: Brush a dusting wand over all open surfaces. A few minutes to spare? Break out the furniture polish for a quick shine.
Clean doors and switch plates: Using a damp microfiber cloth, remove fingerprints, smudges, and germs from light switch plates and doorknobs.
Dust ceiling fans: Place a pillowcase over the fan blade, then pull it toward you to collect the dust. After dusting, use a cloth dipped in warm, soapy water to clean off each blade. Then dry.
Baseboards: Use a microfiber mop to swiftly clear dust and debris from baseboards.
Go top-to-bottom, back-to-front: Avoid backtracking by working with gravity—when you dust high surfaces like ceilings and furniture, it falls to the floor. Likewise, start mopping or vacuuming opposite the entrance to the room, so you don’t track dirt over clean areas.
