i can finally express my headcanon-- not that loop has body horror inbuilt perma-heels-- but that they've just got perpetual barbie foot. they just got too used to wearing their little bootsies. a real "hey dude do you like, want shoes or something?" type stance. i dont even think its a concious choice i think if you pointed it out they'd get embarrased.

When Superboy Prime accidentally resurrected Jason Todd, it was described something like the universe righting itself. And, from a purely physical point of view, Jason never died. It brought his body back to it's state before his death, his injuries there but with just enough he could still survive

So, now I'm imagining like. What if there was an au where it was more than Jason just physically "never dying," but it affected memories of those around as well

Joker not remembering killing him, Dick not remembering hearing the news, Batman and Gotham not remembering the 6 months between Jason's death and resurrection, but not thinking much if it

Thoughts/hcs re: the 2003 animated teen titans series:

Robin having multiple flavours of angst including but not limited to: "ScRew YoU yOu'Re nOT mY dAd", general teenage angst, not wanting to be under batman's shadow angst, thinks he's getting replaced by a younger sibling angst (jason), etc and running away from home to live on the custom built T shaped tower on the private island that's all very much being paid for by batman

At some point Jason steals the red x suit and uses it to torment Dick!robin CONSTANTLY. Bruce either doesn't know a thing about this or does, but doesn't let on that he knows, and is just watching on from a distance with fatherly affection like "aww they're bonding :)" while dick is popping a blood vessel with stress going "WHO is this KID???"

When Bruce adopted Jason he had no intention of making him Robin, but at some point the red x shenanigans were going so far that he actually started feeling bad for dick so he had to put his foot down like, alright, this kid clearly has some energy to burn off or something, let's redirect that energy to something more productive. Like punching the sHIT OUT OF GOTHAM GOONS HELL YEAH. And gives Jason the Robin ii mantle

Jason "gremlin child" Todd is clearly very "yippee :) violence" about this and the red x fuckery stops, but of course dick!robin finds out about this and is all "you replaced me?? >:'( I HATE YOU DAD" and his list of reasons to be angsty and emo increases yet again. Clearly his stress never ends

Eventually dick grows out of his teenage angst and becomes everyone's favourite big brother figure nightwing. And every time Jason tries to tell anyone about Dick's emo angsty edgy menace robin era NOBODY believes him. This is cosmic karma for all the times he broke into the titans tower and moved all of Dick's furniture two inches to the left so he'd stub his toe in the morning. And the time he replaced all of his birdarangs with custom made glitter bombs. And the time he bought a seam ripper and broke into titans tower AGAIN just to rip all the crotch seams of Robin's pants. And the time...you get the point

(Tim DOES know about Dick's edgy emo era (because he's a creepy little stalker FREAK) He just acts like he has no idea what Jason is talking about just to mess with him. Jason is TEARING his hair out and FOAMING at the mouth.)

One thing that unintentionally and personally (as in, just in relation to myself) annoys me about the "do it scared" and other such true motivating sayings is that. Do WHAT. What's "it". I would fucking do it if I knew what "it" was. I would go out of my alleged comfort zone if I knew where to go. I would fucking live authentically if I knew what that fucking meant for me. It's been almost 30 years and I am not doing fucking anything with my life not because I'm scared to take a leap, but because I still don't fucking know where I want to be leaping. As a child I got asked "what do you want to be when you grow up" and I would say "I don't know" and now I did grow up and I still don't fucking know. Something that's not this. But WHAT.

Kind of a weird AU but hear me out:

Finwe marries Indis, right? Most controversial thing Finwe ever done and that includes leading elves from their ancestral home to a new continent to live with gods. Silmarillion says that it happened because he fell in love and I believe it BUT what Silmarillion doesn't tell you is WHEN Finwe marries Indis. I saw posts that say the canon is inconclusive and Tolkien probably changed his mind a lot, and half of what of what Tolkien wrote is thrown from the window by fandom, so.

Anyway, one of the versions said Feanor was at least a teenager when Finwe/Indis happens (I think). What Silmarillion states is that Feanor married VERY young by elven standards, and that Nerdanel was below his station (classism? in elven society? apparently!).

Last thing before I get to the main point: Fingolfin marries Anaire, a Noldo lady, who I saw often enough written as a noble or a court lady, perfectly fine that, no idea if that's canon. And Finarfin very much marries Teleri princess.

...I don't know guys, it feels very convienient. For princes to fall in love with exactly the kind of women who would be approved by royal court and strenghten political ties with other elven factions. If it was anything else than silm, I would call political marriages.

Time for crack: based on what I wrote above I propose an AU where it was FEANOR who was supposed to marry Indis. For politics! Vanyar are the most important faction in Aman! Let's marry into that!

But the MOMENT Feanor became an adult and they could process with courting without making it creppier than it already is, Feanor runs off to elope with his coworker and there's nothing they can do. Well, that's what Finwe tells Ingwe when Ingwe rages about it to him.

Finwe loves Feanor, he wants him to marry for love, and that's exactly what happens. But, uh, all Vanyar are pissed that there's no political marriage when they were promised one (they mad cause they look stupid now), and, well. Finwe decides to bite the bullet. For his son.

It's not true of course. But imagine family dinners after that.

what really kills me about ace attorney is the time. the length. the lasting effects of it all. seven years of disbarment. fifteen years of believing you killed your father. how long was simon imprisoned? how long did lana skye have to live in fear and obedience? how long was diego armando in a coma? we remember the numbers, but are we as aware as they are of how much that time has blended into their identities, how it's now at their cores, the most horrible parts of their lives being so big and important, not just something that can be let go of and erased. they all fucking came back wrong and they will never be the same but the game goes on and they live to the best extent of what they can be now. ace attorney reminds me to say "it is what it is" more and i think that's beautiful
