Until I Found You, Pt. 5
Tumblr media
[Pt. 1], [Pt. 2], [Pt. 3], [Pt. 4], [Pt. 5], [Pt. 6]
Warning: F!reader, little but of angst, mentions of Rollo's brother, will have a scene from the movie 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' but at the very beginning, nothing to detailed. long shopping trips, fluff
Characters: Rollo, Eliott (Oc), Jules (Oc), characters from 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame', one or two random Oc's
Summery: With only a day left for the week long festival to begin, you go help Rollo with a few last minutes preparation along with buying outfits for the closing ball. However, a weird vision leaves you perplex and worried.
______________________________________________________________
Where were you? One moment you had been chatting with Rollo as you helped him plant a few purple flowers in preparation for the Masquerade. The next, you found your mind drifting into a hazy enclosure, bringing you here, standing in what seemed to be the City of Flowers but older. You could see the Bell of Salvation in all its glory, even the familiar path you took with Rollo to go into the city was there.
Frowning, you tried to move your body, but it remained stuck in the same place. You couldn’t even speak or call out to anyone. Suddenly, the image of the city shifted to the inside of the Bell Tower, where you and Rollo ate breakfast every day.
To your surprise, this time, someone was there in contrast to when you first appeared into the gray and white City of Flowers. It was a young man, he had a hunched back and it was clear he looked different from other people you have met. He was wearing a tunic of sorts, hair cut in a way that covered his face with his bangs. He was gazing at the city below, a whimsical smile on his face.
You smiled at that, it was nice seeing others appreciate the city you have grown to love.
But just as quick the smile went away when a man, older from what you could tell, walked into the room. His face was contorted in a permanent scowl, as if he had taken a bite out of a lemon and the taste never left. Immediately you felt something off about him.
“Remember what I taught you, Quasimodo. You are deformed.”
“I am deformed.”
“And you are ugly”
“And I am ugly.”
Anger formed in your chest, the way this man was talking to the other boy, Quasimodo was just horrible. But no one deserved to be treated this way, especially for things that they had no control over. Everyone was different in their own ways, but that didn’t make them worth any less then others.
Once again you tried to speak, but your mouth would not do so, even your body remained motionless. You could only watch helplessly as Quasimodo was berated. Just as the older guy finished, the black and white images in front of you once again became hazy. A wave of dizziness took over your body, causing you to stagger forward and into a pit of darkness.
___
“{name]...[name]....[name!]”
Snapping your eyes open, you gasp in surprise. The colorful flowers and banners greeted your sights instead of the gray and blacks from before. Just beyond, you could see the Bell Tower, no sight of Quasimodo. The familiar cool hands you have come to welcome pull you out of your thoughts.
Green invades your vision, worried eyes stare at you for a moment, the flowers that Rollo had been planting momentarily forgotten. “[Name], are you alright? You were staring into empty space for a while.” He asked, holding your shoulders in a gentle grip. Swallowing the lump on your throat, you nod meekly.
“Y-Yeah, just thinking about something…” You trailed off, not knowing what else to say. Rollo frowns, worry begins showing into his face more clearly. He places the palm of his hand to your forehead, “You don’t feel warm, can you stand up?” You nodded, and with his help rose to your feet. “Let’s go inside and take a break, I can always send someone else to take care of this.”
It wasn’t heat that affected you, this you knew because you weren’t even wearing the school’s uniform. Because of the warm day, you decided to just wear the gym’s uniform much like Rollo was doing now. The gym uniform allowed you to keep cool and not overheat.
“I’m fine Rollo, really, just a little disoriented. It’s been a while since I came outside properly.” You try to give him one of your usual smiles, but you can tell it isn’t working. He still looks worried, something in your chest flips. “I’ve been cooped up in my room for almost the entire week trying to finish off Prince Malleus’s costume, just this morning I managed to finish his hat.”
“You should have told me if it was going to take you this long to finish, I would have sent over people to help you.” You shake your head, “It’s fine! I volunteer for the job anyways! Plus, the important thing is that I finished it on time.” Pulling his purple handkerchief out of his black pant pockets, Rollo covers the lower part of his face.
“You should not put your health at risk for someone like Draconia,” Then, he takes a piece of your hair and fiddles with it. “Take care of yourself, I know I have told you this more than once but please be careful, things here aren't the same as they were in your old world.” Placing the piece of hair behind your ear, he sighs.
You pressed your lips together, should you tell him what you saw? You wanted to but, you also weren’t sure how he would react to it. Heck, you didn’t even know what it was or what it meant. For all you knew, it could be just your tired mind playing tricks on you. Taking hold of his hand before he fully pull away, you grasp it into both your hands and really give him a genuine smile.
“I’m fine Rollo, really. I just needed to catch fresh air and as I mentioned, I was just thinking about the festivities and let my mind drift away.” Giving a gentle squeeze, you let go and crouched down to pick up the flowers you were planting earlier. Rollo stays quiet, a light blush on his cheeks which you right off as the heat of the sun has its effects on him.
“C’mon, let's finish planting these flowers so we can spend the rest of our Sunday choosing a costume for the Masquerade ball. I wanna be able to hang out with Jules, Eliott, and you.” Digging a fresh hole for the flowers, you hum in delight. You hear how Rollo sighs but follows your steps.
The vision you saw nagging at the back of your mind.
_____
Frowning, you sigh and shake your head. No, that one didn’t fit at all. Placing the dress back you keep browsing the gown section. Rollo was a few feet away with Jules as both of them looked at different Masquerade outfits. Eliott was with you, he had already selected his outfit and was currently helping you choose a dress.
After the two of you finished planting the flowers, you insisted on taking a quick shower in order to go to the city’s boutique with Jules and Eliott to pick a costume for the ball. Now the four of you found yourselves here, spending the rest of your Sunday evening before being flooded with duties tomorrow with the welcoming ceremony and performances.
Tomorrow was the start of the one week celebration that ended with a Masquerade Ball to end it. You were a little nervous, after all, this was your first Masquerade, not just here at NBC but in your entire life. You may be the daughter of famous people, but they hardly let you go out anywhere.
And even if you could, you had no friends to go with.
“So, enjoyed your little date with Mr. President?” Startled, you turn to glare at Eliott who had a shit eating smirk. “Fuck! Don’t sneak on me like that!”
“Language.” Rollo’s warning voice is directed to the two of you, his eyes looking at the two costumes Jules is holding. You don’t need him looking towards your direction to know he is directing that more towards you. You chuckle nervously and nod, even if he didn’t see it, and turn back to Eliott.
“We didn’t have a date. I saw him planting flowers by himself and decided to be a good student and friend by helping him.” You stated, crossing your arms over your chest. Eliott continued to smirk, clearly not believing you.
“Sure, whatever you say Mrs. Flamm.”
You hit him with one of the hand fans nearby. Face full-blown red, you casted a look over your shoulder to ensure that Rollo and Jules were facing the other direction before hitting Eliott again, this time harder. “Shut it! I don’t need him to hear that!”
“Aw, c’mon [name]! It’s so clear you both like each other!”
“Just because I like him doesn't mean he shares those feelings!”
Rollo saw you as a friend, you were sure of it. He was open about his emotions to not only you but to also Jules and Eliott. You were no special exception, plus, from what Jules told you; Rollo didn’t have any other friends other than the two of them before coming here. You had been added into his circle because he was helping you in your stay in Twisted Wonderland.
It had not been intentional to fall for him. At the beginning you saw him as a good classmate, someone who was responsible and was willing to help you despite not knowing who you were. Then you started to see him as a friend, someone you could count in despite him being busy with his own stuff. He always lended a helping hand and never asked for anything in return.
You didn’t know when you started to think of him as more than a friend. You had no clue when admiring his skills turned into admiring him in general. Or how you would wait for him to walk to class, eat together, even borrowing his sweaters and shirts.
Eliott groaned, “Great Seven, you have that lovey dovey look on your face.” He pokes your cheek, “You only get that look on your face when talking or thinking of Rollo.” Swatting his hand away, you sigh and go back to the dresses. A minute goes by and you believe Eliott has dropped the subject as he is typing on his phone.
“Alright that's it!” Grabbing your arm, the peach haired color boy pulls you towards a section farther from the one Rollo and Jules were in. “W-What are you doing?!” From the corner of your eyes, you could see Jules do the same thing Eliot was doing, Rollo looking like a startled cat. “I am going to help you with that sad love life of yours! Starting with finding a dress that will leave Rollo’s jaw on the ground!”
“What?!”
And you were whisked away with no say in the situation at all.
The next two hours or two were spent with Eliott throwing dresses your way, approving of some and disapproving of others. A worker even had to come and help you at a certain point with all the dresses Eliott had chosen. Your feet were sore from standing up, and you were hungry. You had once wished to know the feeling of going on a shopping spree with a friend, now you are not so sure if you wanted to do it again.
Pinching your nose bridge, with your index finger and thumb, you let out an irritated huff. “Hold still, I need to check if this color goes well with your skin tone.” Eliott placed a dress next to your body, humming while deep in thought. “Sometimes I forget that you were a former member of the Fashion club.” You said tiredly. He gives you a grin, “Former president of the club dear.”
“Yeah, yeah…are we almost done?”
“Nope.”
You groaned. Your fingers itched to grab your phone and call Rollo for help. Surely, he has noticed your lack of absence by now. Glancing towards the right corner of the boutique, your gaze landed on a purple dress close to the window display. Eliott had gone to return the blue dress he had pulled from the nearby rack. “Excuse me, can you bring me that dress over there?”
The worker looked to the direction you were pointing and nodded with an excited smile. “My, what an excellent choice you made! I will go fetch it for you in a moment dear!” The worker, a lady who seemed to be in her late twenties, walked with a hop to her step towards the dress. Something about the dress called to you, maybe it was the purple skirt or the corset.
“Here you go, miss!” By the time the lady had come back, Eliott had returned, in his hands he had another dress that he immediately discarded in one of the nearby racks and gently took the dress the lady had gotten for you. “This one! Oh, this is the one!” Without a moment's notice, he shoved you into one of the changing rooms with the dress.
With a huff, you sigh and roll your eyes before looking at the gown in your hands. The fabric was silky and very beautiful. The purple wasn’t too bright or too dull, it was just perfect. Once more, you took off your clothes and began slipping into the dress. You gasp in how easy it was to put it on, the material taking the shape of your body.
For one, the dress didn’t feel rough or itchy.
Looking at yourself in the mirror, you could only stare in amazement. The dress really fit you, it made you look different. “Do you need help zipping the dress dear?” The lady asked from outside the changing room. Looking away, you call back. “Yes please!” In fluid motions, the lady enters and gives you another smile.
Closing the curtain behind her, she tells you to turn around and pulls up the zipper. “There! And look at you!” Once more, you gaze into the mirror and can’t believe that the person standing in front of it is you. “Let’s go show it to your friend.” She pulls you along, albeit a lot gentler than Eliott.
“Wow…” Is the first thing Eliott says, his eyes wide in shock. You glance away, feeling flustered with all the staring. Fiddling with the dresses’ sleeves, you do a mini twirl. “So, does this fit your fancy?” You ask jokingly. Eliott nods, a big and bright smile on his lips. “This one is the one!” Taking you by the hand, he twirls you again.
You giggle, content that your friend managed to find a dress for you. Even though you would have been fine with any dress. “Alright, we will be taking this dress ma’am!” Eliott says to the lady. “Very well, when you are ready, take it to the front then.” And with that, she takes her leave with a content smile. “Does this mean we are done?” You asked hopefully.
Eliott grins, “Nope! We still need to buy other accessories and shoes!”
You let out a defeated groan.
_____
“This is the first and last time I ever go shopping with Eliott…” You grumbled, biting into the tender chicken. Rollo sighs tiredly, the cup of coffee he had ordered halfway done. After another hour of looking for shoes, jewelry, and a mask to go with the dress, the four of you were done for the day. “You were the one who wanted to bring them.”
“Yeah, well I thought it would have been a fun shopping trip. Not us turning into mannequins.” Leaning back onto the chair of the booth, you stretch your tired and sore legs. Great seven, the amount of high heels you had to try on before setting on a silver pair had you crying on the inside.
“And to top it off, Jules and Eliott ran off with our outfits!” You continued to rant. Your two so called friends had made sure to pay for the costumes at different times so you wouldn’t see what the other chose. Then after they were all in the boxes, they ran off spouting some bullshit about doing a last minute errand. “When I see that peach-haired bastard I will kick his ass until next week.”
Rollo chuckles weakly, and wow, he must be running low on energy if he didn’t even reprimand you because of your language. Not that you blamed him, after a long day of shopping, the both of you decided to stop at Rollo’s favorite restaurant and eat before going back on campus. The food was your reward for such a long and exhausting day. Finishing the rest of your food in silence, you let your mind wonder about the activities planned tomorrow.
“You will be welcoming the people from NRC and RSA tomorrow right?” You asked, Rollo nods, a new cup of coffee in his hands. “Yes, Jules and Eliott will be accompanying me.” That means that you wouldn’t be able to have your usual routine of breakfast and morning walk. “Guess we won’t be able to see each other until the afternoon.” Maybe it had been your tiredness or just the excitement running through your body that gave you the courage to lay your head on his shoulder.
Rollo stiffened, but relaxed after a few seconds. Hesitantly, he held your hand, his cup of coffee on the table. “Hey…can I join you guys in showing the guests around?” Rollo hums, “Don’t you have to perform the welcome and opening ceremony?”
“Well, yeah, but I mean after I do that. I won’t have anything to do after the performance and I don’t feel like going to the food stands or playing the local games without you or the other guys.” Pressing your cheek against his shoulder, you take a peek at him. “Plus, I wanna meet Yuu and Grim.”
Placing his hand on top of your head, he gives you a gentle pat. “Very well, once you finish with the welcome and opening ceremony we will wait for you at the entrance of the battle arena.”
“Why would you wait for me there?”
His lips quirk up just a bit, “Because the first place I will take the guests is to the battle arena to see the performances.” You let his words sink in, your tired mind slowly processing the information he was giving you. “Ah! Right! The whole point of calling it a welcome ceremony is because we are trying to make them feel welcome and the opening ceremony is to officially begin the week-long celebration.” Dear lord, you must be tired as hell if you managed to forget that small yet important piece of information. Grumbling under your breath, you leaned in further into Rollo.
The third year boy stayed still, his green eyes on your figure. Fondness in his eyes as he watched your eyelids flutter shut, the activities of today taking their toll on you. Pulling you close to him, he gazes out of the window of the booth you sat in. Tomorrow would be Monday, the official start of the week-long celebration of the Masquerade.
Meaning that Malleus Draconia will be there.
At this, he frowns. He would have preferred it if you wouldn’t join him on touring the City Of Flowers to the guests. Just the thought of Draconia being near you along with those hooligans from NRC and RSA made him shiver in disgust. When it came to magic, he didn’t like it when it was near you.
But he wouldn’t prevent you from wanting to learn more about it. Rollo isn’t the type of person that oppressed others just because he didn’t like something. Looking back to your sleeping face, he felt a pinch of guilt. He knew that what he was about to do on the day of the ball would hurt you. Not physically, but you would feel betrayed. And while that also hurt him, he just couldn’t let it go.
The image of his brother, crying for help as he reached out towards him was engraved into his memory. During dark nights, he would stay awake, not being able to sleep without his face appearing in his dreams. He had vowed to get justice for what happened to him, starting by eradicating the very thing that killed him.
Something that could also kill you.
He will do what he has to do in order to protect you, even if it means hurting the city he has grown to love. And maybe you will hate him, resent him for his actions, but that was fine. As long as you lived in a safe world, then everything was fine.

Heimdall Scenario - Humming
As Deastra strolls around in Asgard, she suddenly feels intrigued by the slight humming of a particular Aesir. She follows the humming and finds Heimdall sitting by a tree, apple in hand, and a smile with a book he is smitten with.

The sky in Asgard looks so warm and lovely, entirely different than Middgard's. The beautiful scenery before me doesn't shush the boredom I feel though. Atreus has been so busy with Odin lately, that I've been left to entertain myself with petty bouts with the Aesirs and, what I'm doing now, taking calming strolls. I've traversed most of the village and met quite a few Aesir. So for this lovely sunset, I decided to venture onto a slightly used path I found. Where it leads to, I have no idea, but something compelled me to walk it.
"Hmm, hmm, hmm." I hear someone humming nearby. "Hmm, hmm." Intrigued, I follow the sound. To my surprise. I find a familiar muse for my entertainment.
"Heimdall?" I say while a cheeky smile grows on my face.
The Aesir looks up at me. His expression is surprised, almost flustered. Quickly his face contorts into a scowl, and he glares at me. "Stalking me are you?" His purple eyes dig into my mind. "You've been quite comfortable harassing the Aesir, myself especially included."
I can't help but smile a bit wider. Heimdall thinks that I've been disturbing the peace with mockeries and fights. If only he stayed a bit longer to see that those bouts turned into cheers and drunken dancing. "Oh if only you knew how much I longed to see you during my 'harassments'" Heimdall tilts his head, then squints his eyes. "You enjoy my company?" I smile and nod my head. "Well, I despise yours." He shuts his book, which makes me remember why I was so intrigued. "What's the book?" I ask. "Nothing that concerns you." "…" I need to see what's in that book. From the weary emotion on his face, I know HE knows I need to know. I grow antsy and tension builds in my body. How the hell do I overcome his ability of intent, and what the hell does he truly see in my brain? Frozen with uncertainty of what to do, I barely hear Heimdall mocking me. What he is saying is none of my concern right now. I. need. To. see. What. That. book. Was. about. Everything inside of me gave out. I pounce for the book, no thoughts no warning. Heimdall is startled, and his book is engulfed under my body. Immediately, I hug the book and secure it. Now I'm in the fetal position, on Heimdall's lap. Not the ideal place to be, but in reality, any lap is comfortable.
"You're more feral than Gulltopr! You overgrown cat! What was that!" Heimdall tries to stand. He struggles. But then realizes. "You have my book." I tighten all my muscles. "I need to know." "Need to know what, you mania-ridden half-god." Ever so slightly I look at Heimdall, my eyes are filled with mischief. "What about this book? Compelled you to hum so sweetly?" I smile. Heimdall stares into my eyes once more. And he also smiles? "You think I'm hiding a secret admiration for something?" He laughs. "I'm not a creep obsessed with romantic scenarios and fantastical 'lands', or cute whimsical stories!" He leans over me, and I lose my smile. "I change my mind, Look at the book sunshine." He leans back and crosses his arms. His body finally relaxes. Now, I'm bound to feel like a fool once I realize the truth. No, I am not looking forward to Heimdall's infamous mockeries, but yes, I do prefer his sober mockery-filled banter, rather than the drunken shouting of the other Aesir. Hesitantly, I exit my fetal position and sit up between Heimdall's legs. I bring the book closer to my face and read the title. "The great wall of Asgard, and it's prideful watcher." Huh, well that makes sense. A prideful brat finding joy through his own glory. "Satisfied?"- Heimdall leans to me, smiling. -"Sunshine." Once again he laughs and points his finger at me. "I will admit that you too are good company sometimes. Though I hate to admit, you and I are getting too comfortable." His smile shifts.
Swiftly, he kicks me away from him, and I roll into my back. "Hey, that hurt!" I shout while sitting up. Heimdall stands up and walks over to me. "That was nothing you couldn't handle. Don't be so hurt over that." He smiles again and extends his hand. "Trying to be nice now?" I ask. "From anyone else's perspective, I've been nothing but decently nice to you." He has been nicer to me compared to anyone else, especially Atreus, and his own brother. Although I haven't seen him interact with many Aesirs, he usually idles with Odin or by himself. "Do you have any friends?" I ask. Heimdall looks confused but shakes his head. He grabs my arm and pulls me up. "I have many friends, you could say all of Asgard are friends with one another." I look at him, my face unconvincing. He rolls his eyes. "No, I do not get along with many, because I see what they truly are. No matter how much they lie, or how much they charm."- Heimdall's grip on my arm tightens a touch. -"But, I can say you are a bit different, nothing special, just different. Your words come straight from your mind, and they do not lie." Heimdall's eyes look as if they're trying to solve something. He lets go of my arm and takes a step back. "We are friends." His tone doesn't sound too approving.
"Are we really? You don't seem too happy about that." His face looks as if it's pleading with me. As if he's pleading with me to understand his own mind, or he's trying to dig for something in mine. I lean towards him and extend my hand, only my pinky held up. "Hey," I say, my tone being soft, "I won't tell anyone about the sweet hums I heard." I smile cheekily. "Promise." His eyes widen, it's like I genuinely surprised him. Or maybe he doesn't know what a pinky promise is. "I know what that is." He scoffs and holds up his hand to mine, pinky out. He hesitates for a moment, then interlocks our pinkies. "If one word comes out from you about this-" "Then you gut my brother, I know" I interrupt. "No." He scoffs. "You won't get to pet Gulttopr." My mouth drops at the atrocity he had just said. I laugh. "You are truly despicable." I pull my hand back and notice the sun is nearly set. "I should see if Atreus has returned," I say. "Perhaps you should."- Heimdall puts his hand on his hip and leans. -"Come on then."
"Oh, you're coming with me?" I muse while beginning to walk in the direction he was not leaning to. Heimdall grabs my arm. "Yes," He sounds disappointed, "Best I accompany you, so you don't get lost."- He pulls my arm towards the direction he was leaning and we begin to walk. -"You know I leaned this way to indicate where we were supposed to be heading." "Well, you should've been more obvious with it then!" I smile at Heimdall. He smiles back. "You are quite stupid-" His steps slow a bit I and feel his eyes looking at me. -"My darling," he mutters. I barely heard it, and I said nothing of it, and so did he. Small banter about Asgard's nature was made on our trek back. Once we arrived at the Great Hall, he left to serve Odin, and I went to see Atreus. I doubt I'll see him again tonight. Though in the morning, I do hope to see him.

---------------------------------
I came back to the League's Headquarters sweaty and dirty in dire need of a shower. I stripped off my clothes and stepped underneath the shower. I felt specially aroused, being that time of the month, my ovaries close to exploding, my breasts sensitive and tender. I loved the way the warm water caressed my skin, enjoying the tingling feeling between my legs. I slipped a hand down my thighs, sliding over my sensitive nub as I rested my back against the cold tiles, a welcoming cooling for my overheated body. Rubbing my clit and teasing my nipples it didn't take long for me to cum.
Feeling elated, I dried myself off, slipping into an oversized white button up shirt. It hung just above my knee and I almost disappeared in it. But it was the most comfortable thing I owned and I loved wearing it. The cottony fabric felt good against my soft skin, rubbing against my nipples, perking them up. I went about tidying my room when suddenly the door opened and Shigaraki barged in.
“Hey brat, never reported to me on-," he stopped mid sentence, seeing me standing in the middle of the room, half dressed. My wet hair hung in disheveled strands around my face, water dripping off them, making my shirt transparent and cling to my skin.
His messy pale tufts covered most of his face and I could only make out his glowing red eyes staring at me.
"Boss, m'sorry, forgot." I mumbled, my cheeks flushing, my breasts still erect from the heightened arousal.
His gaze raked my half covered body, fixing on my hard nubs, his eyes a rapturous look in them. His tongue darted out and snaked over his cracked lips.
He snarled, "I don't like disobedience, especially not slacking off,“ and took a step towards me.
I fumbled for words as he approached me further. My cheeks were ablaze by now, my body reacting on it's own as I felt a familiar heat starting to kindle inside my core.
He noticed my reaction and his lips curled up into a smirk, stepping right in front of me, only inches away. I gasped, never being so close, so personal to him. My breath hitched as he leaned in, smelling him, damp dust and linen.
"I can think of a way to make it up to me," his voice just a rasp.
Blood was rushing into my core now, as I stumbled back until the back of my legs hit the bed.
"Lay down," his hoarse voice demanding at me.
"Boss-“ I pleaded but he tutted quietly at me "You know what I do to someone pissing me off,“ and he wiggled his fingers in demonstration. I winced and turned around, crawling to the middle of the bed, laying down on my back, hair framing my face nestled into the pillow, hands balled into fists.
He stepped next to the bed, climbed over me and sat down on my legs, straddling me, knees to each side of my hips.
He smirked and rasped “Open," gesturing at my shirt. I struggled beneath him, but, realizing I was impaled by him, I hesitantly started to undo my shirt, button after button. As I reached the bottom he took each hem with two fingers and pulled them to the side, exposing myself to him. My breath hitched as the cold air hit my naked skin, making my erect nipples bud up even harder.
"Boss-" I winced but he cut me off with a hand gesture.
He started stroking my belly, and then up around and in between my breasts. He circled them with large strokes of his calloused hand, giving my breasts a little squeeze, before dipping his face down to hover over them. His breath was hot against my skin, stimulating my already rattled nerves. His fingertips caught my nipple, rolling it lightly between two fingers and as that nub puckered and stiffened even more, he moved on to the other.
I couldn't help but mewl below him, an unfamiliar feeling arising in my breasts, not being used to such attention. His tongue darted out, the flat of it sliding over my skin, drawing little soft whimpers from me. He drew my hardened nipple into his warm mouth, latching around it, licking it, tracing little circles around it, flicking it with the tip of his tongue.
Jolts of pleasure ran through my body, building up an unknown heat each time. I arched my back, moaning as he kept sucking relentlessly,
"You're really sensitive," he rasped, cracked dry lips contorted into a slim smirk, brushing them over my erect nubs. I could only answer with an incomprehensible gargle. When he bit down on my nub, just enough to hurt but not to lacerate my sensitive skin, my mouth fell open, a heated moan shooting up my throat and my eyes rolled back with pleasure. He kept groping my breast, twisting its nub, letting off throaty grunts as he kept biting into the other, setting off fireworks throughout my body. It was enough stimulation for the coil inside me to wind tighter, my overstimulated nipples continuing to shoot off sparks down to my core.
A low raspy hum vibrated through his body, my breasts and my body as he kept mouthing, licking me. I managed to let out "Oh my god," and he pulled back, letting out a throaty giggle, seeing me fully delirious below him. He bent down again and continued.
I was pushed to my limit, hesitant to let go, a fire spreading throughout my whole body as the pleasure built slowly and gradually. And then, without a warning, it exploded out of nowhere. Waves of orgasmic pleasure rippled through my body and I let out a high pitched screech. My back arched, and my hips bucked below him while he let out short raspy groans, still sucking on my tits, drawing continuous moans from me.
I was slowly coming down from my high, tears pegging my eyes, a sight that had him snicker with a glint in his eyes "That sensitive, huh?" followed by a throaty chuckle.
I lay below him, unable to move, my whole body still tingling with pleasure. He scooted off, just far enough to pull my legs apart and positioned himself between them. Still trying to catch my breath I heard the rustle of fabric and looked up with opium blown eyes.
He kneeled between my legs, sweats pulled down. Stroking his freed distinct cock, he positioned himself at my wet entrance and slowly slid in.
I threw my head back, biting my lips, trying to hold back tears. I let out little huffs of breath as I tried to accommodate his size, while he pressed forward, inch by inch, until he was fully buried deep inside me, his pale tufts kissing my sensitive button.
I gasped, the feeling of being impaled on him too intense. My body was set on fire, every nerve in overdrive, I felt so full I could hardly breathe. He looked down at the belly bulge and muttered so tight, eyes glowing with unquenchable desire.
He slowly pulled back and my mind exploded right away, the ridge of his head rubbing along my sensitive walls, sending sparks flying through my body.
"Oh god, this- ahhh," it was too much for me. Once almost out, he pushed back in with a strong thrust, having me keen out loud. I clawed into the sheets, gasping, moaning as he started to thrust into me, still staring at my flat belly being stretched and filled with each rut, sucking in shallow excited breaths.
"This is fucking hot," he rasped, slightly breathless, a little drop of sweat running down his cheek.
Dissociated and overwhelmed by the pleasure rolling through me, every nerve was on fire as each of his ruts had me hurling towards an unknown edge. He increased the speed, pounding into me now, grabbing my hips, pinkies raised as he also started to get lost in the sensation. Sounds of our sexes combined, heated noises of pleasure filled the air while we both neared our highs with each jerk of his hips.
My vision went blurry, my mouth open, continuous moans falling from it and I felt a powerful climax nearing. With a particularly strong rut all my restraints snapped like a twig, waves of pleasure rolling over me and I came. Trembling and moaning, I clawed at the sheets, yelling whatever words first came to my mind in a jumbled mess, my insides twitching and contracting around him.
After a few more rut, fervently burrowing his face in my neck, he spilled his milky seed deep into my cunt, dribbling out around his length, leaving a mess on the patch of white curls at the base of his dick.
He convulsed on top of me, sweaty skin sticking to each other as we both rested, trying to catch our breath. Eventually, he pulled out and closed his pants back up. My mind still fogged, I hardly noticed him getting up and moving towards the door, opening it.
Just as I heard the click of it closing behind him I was coming to enough to remember something important. My eyes shot open, hands darted down to my cum soaked folds between my thighs.
"Shit."

Hiii it’s me, the regulus simp again- back with another Regulus x fem!reader requestt where the reader has always wanted to play the piano, and the slytherin common room just happens to have one and Regulus just happens to know how to play the piano and she hears him playing so she comes to listen and she has synesthesia so she describes to him what she sees (like colors etc) andd maybe some ultra fluff where he tries to teach her to play it💖💖✨✨ also hope your day is going well and you’re drinking water and getting enough vitamin D because you’re important <3
I LOVED WRITING THIS, IT WAS SO CUTE. LITERALLY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REQUESTING THIS ( it made me feel better after writing the angst fic ). Also, I hope you are eating and staying healthy and safe! xoxo.
One where he teaches you how to play the Piano
Word count: 2619
[ Warning: fem!reader, fluff, strangers to lovers, first kiss, some sexual tension (not really though), hand holding, petnames such as “love” and “pretty lady/girl” ]
You pressed your ear to the door, hearing the angelic music come from the piano in the Slytherin common room. You tried your best to stay away, but you somehow always made your way to listen outside the door.
The person who played always came to the piano after supper on Wednesday nights, occasionally they would come to play on the weekends as well. You never caught a glimpse of the person, you always ran off before they noticed you were there.
Here you were, ear pressing so close to the slightly opened room as you listened to the sweetest melody you have ever heard. Your brain fogged with clarity, it felt like paradise.
A smile tugged on your face, but it quickly fell when the door leaned forward and you came tumbling into the almost empty common room.
The walls were made of bricks, making you wonder what it would feel like to slide your fingers along the creases. Your knees hit the floor, hands extended as you hear a slight cracking noise. You cringe at this simple scenario you have fallen into, how could you have possibly been so naive and fall right through the door?
The piano came to a stop when you fell, the musician taking a look towards the intruder. You stare at the ground with wide eyes, feeling too embarrassed to look up at them.
"Are you alright?" His voice was deep and delicate, much how you imagined it would sound. You look up, realizing his voice wasn't the only thing delicate about him. His face was shaped like a god, high cheekbones with thinning plain lips. You took a moment to stare at his beauty, never knowing a person could look so lovely.
"Excuse me?" He repeated himself, standing from the oak bench. His hand came into view, you took his long fingers into yours, feeling him pull you up. His hand was cold to the touch, but it only reminded you of the snowy owls you see flying.
"I'm sorry, it's just you play the piano so well, I guess I got distracted and fell... through the door," you explained, embarrassed. You took your hand from his, looking around the space accompanying you both. Everyone was out for a Hogsmeade trip, but you had stayed because you heard the piano.
"Oh," he responded, you look back up towards him, noticing his taller height. You looked over his outfit, seeing his well-tailored fit. His shoes were sparkling, making you look at your own dusted ones.
"Do you play the piano?" The musician asked, trying to get you to stay and talk for a few more minutes. You looked back up, shaking your head sadly.
"I wish, I just never gotten the opportunity to learn," you tell him, looking towards the piano left unoccupied. He watched you, making you look up towards him.
"What is your name?" He asked, taking a step back to give you some room. You fiddled with your skirt.
" [ name ] [ last name ], and you?" You asked, your eyes continuing to look towards the empty piano. He followed your gaze, a small smile on his lips.
"I'm Regulus Black, would you like me to teach you how to play the piano?" Regulus asked, tilting his body to invite you towards the piano. You instantly took a step with him, both of you walking towards the bench. He sat first, patting the spot beside him.
"Will you?" You asked, an excited tone in your voice. He patted the seat again, giving you another small smile.
" Of course, I always have time for a pretty lady," Regulus replied, his words making your stomach flutter. You sank down onto the oak bench, your eyes never leaving his.
"I'm a complete amateur, I don't even know the chords," You reason with him, blinking your eyes as you look towards the piano keys.
"That's alright, we all start somewhere," Regulus says, his fingers placing themselves against the white keys, pressing them together to make an angelic sound. You're reminded of a viridian green from the nice tone.
"Here, place your fingers against these keys," Regulus explains, letting you raise your hands before taking your fingers and placing them against the keys. You eagerly press the key, a sage green colour filling your mind.
Regulus watched you with tender eyes, seeing as you got so fascinated with the small chord. You instantly pressed another one, trying to follow the same melodies he had showed you.
Your spine tingled when a horrible chord was pressed, making the melody remind you of the colour cinnamon brown. You scrunched your shoulders, pulling your fingers back.
"Hey, you've almost got it and I haven't even taught you yet, don't give up now," Regulus effused, his fingers gently grabbing yours as he placed them back over the keys.
He dragged your fingers through keys, playing the melody through you. You’re reminded of the viridian green again, seeing new colours flash through with each key being played.
"Your turn now," Regulus says, his fingers rest over yours for a while longer than normal, before tearing them away to place them on his knees. You give him a look, only being met with a comfortable expression.
You tap the keys slowly, remembering the colours and placements. Before you know it, you've completed a slowed version of the melody. Your heart jumps, excited to get it right.
"Yes, that's good! Your learning quicker than I thought, are you sure you've never played before?" He asked, leaning his head to the side. You watched his hair tilt with his head, gentle curls framing his face. You snap out of it, answering his question.
"I see colours, with each note. It's hard to explain, but when I hear things I get reminded of objects or colours, does that make sense?" You ask, feeling slightly exposed to admit your thought process. Regulus pressed his lips together, analyzing you. You feel stupid, but that feeling flows away with his next words.
"You have synesthesia?" Regulus concluded, but he asked it more like a question. You nodded your head, a small smile on your face.
"Yeah. You're familiar with the term?" You asked him, tilting your head back to the piano. Regulus kept looking at you, interpreting his final thoughts. Nothing terrible could ever possibly come from a person like her, Regulus concluded.
“I am. I heard a Professor mention it once, always stuck with me after,” Regulus explained, just as he finished talking, someone walked into the common room. You both turned your head to look, not realizing you had been infatuated with his eyes.
“Am I interrupting something?” The Slytherin teased, his eyes switching between the two of you in a suggested way. You turn your head slightly, a blush against your cheeks.
“Yes, you are,” Regulus stated plainly, flashing his eyes towards you. His hand came to your back, holding it gently. You couldn’t have flushed red any faster, your face felt like it was on fire.
“Oh,” The boy said, not expecting that response.
“It’s alright,” you chimed in, but the boy only waved his hand and walked towards the steps to the boy's dormitory. You felt foolish, you didn’t want to upset the boy.
“Don’t worry about him, he was teasing me, you’ve done nothing wrong, my love,” Regulus responded, turning his body back to face the piano, but he kept his gaze on you.
“You know him?” You perked up, looking up towards his eyes. He gave a smile, finding your embarrassed state adoring.
“Yes, he’s one of my dorm mates,” Regulus told you, leaning closer. His hand rubbed your lower back softly, soothing you.
“Oh, well that makes me feel better,” you retorted, eyes turning towards the piano. You placed your hands back onto the keys, giving him a side look. “May we continue?”
“Of course,” Regulus replied, his hand leaving your back. You felt cold without his hand but shook it off as you started to play the melody again. This time, you played it a bit quicker. You still missed some important keys, but Regulus just responded with a faint, “don’t worry, I know you’ll get it soon,”
“Can you explain what colours you see each note you play? He asked after you finished playing a slowed version of the melody. You nodded, moving your fingers to the first key.
“The thinner notes remind me of warm colours and the deeper notes are cold colours. For instance, this one reminds me of a pale yellow,” you say, pressing the higher sounding key. A ping sounded through the room before you moved your fingers to the second note.
“This one is... like a blue sky kind of colour,” You go on, explaining colour after colour. Before you know it, you reach the end of the melody.
“What does this note remind you of?” Regulus asked, pressing one of the deeper notes. You look at his dark green tie, wiggling your fingers to hold the thin material. You tug at his tie gently, signalling him to look towards it.
“It sounds like this colour,” You contort, smiling as you let go of his tie and use your palm to make it neat again. Regulus coughs from the back of his throat, shifting in his seat. You realize how insane you must be, touching the tie of a guy you just met.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have touched you,” You say sheepishly. You look up towards Regulus, but he’s turned his head, you see the faint glow of a red on his cheeks. He brings his hand to hold his face, hiding it swiftly to try and calm himself.
“It’s fine,” he mumbles into his hand, he shivers before steadying himself. Regulus turns his head back, keeping his eyes away from yours.
A growing awkward silence fills the room, looking away from each other. You grab the oak bench cushions, pressing your feeling into it through your hands. You rock back slightly, but you feel him move closer to you, his arm brushed against yours.
“Do you think you’ve perfected the melody yet?” Regulus asked his sweaty hands on his knees. He rubbed his thighs, trying to wipe the sweat away. He felt like a nervous wreck.
“I think so,” you say, moving your hands as you place them against the starting keys. You wait for a second, before pressing the keys. You go on with the melody, getting each key right. Your fingers move over the white ivory keys, the viridian green filling your mind again.
“You’re so pretty,” Regulus lets the words slip out, his eyes filled with this type of adoration as he watches you. You snap your head to look towards him, gulping slightly. The melody falls short, your fingers stopping.
“I’m sorry, I should have said that,” Regulus quickly covers up, his ears red as he can’t keep his darkened eyes from yours.
“Not that you aren’t pretty, because you most definitely are! I just shouldn’t have told you, we’ve just met and I don’t want to be a creep,” Regulus goes onto explain, feeling embarrassed himself as he fumbled over his words.
“That’s okay! I don’t mind, I think you’re pretty as well,” You replied, looking over his sculpted features again. Regulus gave you a slanted look, he has never been called pretty before.
“I mean... handsome, you’re just really mesmerizing is what I mean,” you stumble over your words, feeling your ears start to heat up, the tips red.
“Thank you,” He responded, his body leaning closer to yours. He shakes out of it before he can lean any closer, your breath slipping from the shared moment. He turned back to the piano, placing his ring clasped fingers against the keys.
“Shall I teach you another melody?” Regulus asked, looking over. You nodded, sitting back into the backless bench. You watched as he looked towards the keys, eyes closed slightly. His eyelashes fell perfectly over his cheeks as he played the new melody.
Your mind flooded with the colour deep sea blue, the chords sounded so mellow. Once the melody came to an end, he turned to look towards you.
“It’s your turn now,” Regulus states, your fingers coming to replace his. You feel uncertain, you had been distracted by Regulus's beauty, you hadn’t watched his hand placement.
You press the first key, a deep sound flowing through you. The pleasant sounds didn't last long because you had played the wrong key, making the melody uneven. You give a sheepish look towards Regulus.
“It’s alright, let me take you through the placements again,” Regulus comforts quickly, his hands coming to rest over yours. He directs your fingers back to the starting keys. Regulus moves his body, tilting it weirdly.
“Here, let’s stand up,” He says, helping you stand before pushing the bench back to give you both room. His body comes behind yours, his hands placing yours back over the piano keys.
“Is this okay?” Regulus asks his whispers sending tingles through your spine. You nod slightly, your body leaning back into his. “Yes,”
Regulus starts to help you press the keys, taking you through the beautiful melody again. His hand are much bigger than yours, covering them from view. His cheek brushes against your hair, almost nuzzling closer to you.
When the melody ends, he stays still. You both don’t move, his hands over yours, his breath fanning over your ear in a calming way. Your heart beats faster, turning around slightly. Your lips part, tilting your head back to look up at him.
“Can I kiss you?” Regulus whispered, his eyes switching between your eyes to your lips. You nod quickly, words getting stuck in your throat.
“Close your eyes,” he instructed, watching as you close your eyes shut. You felt your face boil, feeling a nervous nausea wash over you.
His knuckle brushed your warm cheek, before his fingers cupping your jaw softly. You leaned up on your toes, your hand on his chest. Regulus pulled himself down, his lips meeting yours.
You leaned further on your toes, pressing yourself closer. It felt so new, being in this secret moment together made you pull him closer, wanting it to last forever.
He felt rich, the placement of his cold hands, the way his lips tasted like mint. you grabbed his coat, fingers squeezing around the fabric. You leaned back down, breaking the kiss. You let your eyes fall looking at his shiny shoes.
“Hey, look at me pretty girl,” Regulus said with a gentle voice, his fingers lifting your jaw. Your eyes met his again, your stomach filling with butterflies. He had a grin on his face, his once pale cheeks filled with colour.
“Would you like to go on a date with me? There is a wonderful restaurant just outside of Hogsmeade, I would like to converse with you more,” Regulus invited you. You nodded your head, feeling foolish once again for not using your words.
“I would love to,” you choked out, you couldn’t stop yourself from smiling and neither could Regulus.
Regulus frowned when he took a look at his watch, he leaned down to plant a gentle kiss on your forehead.
“I have to go, I’m meeting up with a professor,” Regulus said sadly, holding you close before letting you slip away from his hands. “I’ll see you on our date?”
“of course,” you agreed, watching as he gave a small gorgeous smile before slipping out of the Slytherin common room.
You sat on the nearby couch, resting your head in your hands as you let out a satisfied squeal. This day, could not have gone any better.

OKAY this might be vague and i’m so sorry if it is i’m a terrible explainer 🤚
but shinsou crushing on a male reader from his class that wears a face mask so he gets curious as to what he looks like and one day he just brainwashes him into taking it off
i don’t even know how to end it this was kind of random <//3
Between Boyfriends
NO BECAUSE THIS IS SO CUTE !!!
Warnings: None!
Tumblr media
Class 1-C is full of nosy people. People who talk too much, ask too many questions, stand too close. Shinso is familiar with each and every one of them, and quite frankly, they bore him. He sits in the far back of his class, lucky enough to stay away from the people who annoy him. There’s one boy, however, that peaks his interest. Every time they lock eyes Shinso can feel heat flush his face. It’s embarrassing, acting like a schoolboy whose resolve jumps out the window at the sight of a pretty face. But it’s not as if he can exactly see the boys’ face. He just has a pretty vibe. There he goes again, losing his cool and thinking about ‘vibes’ like a hopeless romantic. Hitoshi bites his tongue and his face contorts as if he bit straight into a lemon at the thought of being hopelessly in love. Maybe he’s moving too fast.
Then again, he says that a lot to undermine his feelings. It’s not like you’re strangers, if anything, Hitoshi would like to believe you’re up to friend status. The two of you have hung out before, you’ve shared headphones and talked from sunrise to sunset, so maybe his feelings are reasonable. You’re the only one who accepts his blunt nature, the only one who has complimented his quirk, the only one who felt genuine. He remembers seeing you smile for the first time, and although your mouth was covered he could see it in your eyes. Thinking about it made his heart beat against his ribcage. He wanted to see your smile. Part of him wonders if it has to do with your quirk, maybe you need it as some form of life support? You took it off once, but politely asked him to turn away whilst doing so. Maybe you were insecure. But that wouldn’t make sense, right? How could someone so irrevocably handsome be insecure? Shinso sincerely hoped that wasn’t the case. He also hoped he’d stop rambling soon, because he was beginning to sound like Midoriya.
When the day ends, you and Shinso are the last ones out, and nerves reveal themselves in balled fists and wobbly legs. Every other Wednesday you walk home together, and Shinso grasps onto them in hopes that they’ll never disappear. But or course, all good things must come to an end. You’re walking ahead of him, talking about something that Shinso is half listening to, before you look back and see his purple eyes boring into your mask.
“What’s wrong?” Your head tilts to the right and Shinso’s brain short circuits at the display. Great, now he’s beginning to sound like Kaminari.
Holy shit. Now is his chance. It’s almost perfectly timed, with the orange and peach hued sunset beaming on your face and highlighting your features, Shinso feels like he’s staring at an angel. The sweetest, funniest, best person he has ever met. The closest to an angel he can get. Hitoshi takes a deep breath in and asks:
“Do you trust me?” You nod firmly.
“Of course, why-?”
That’s all the confirmation he needs. He walks up to you and cups your cheeks, covered by the mask that he’s cursed for so long. Gently, he takes your hand and guides them up to the mask. There’s a difference in size, and it makes his chest feel tight. One more second of suspense and Hitoshi might explode.
“Take off your mask,” He clears his throat and adds “Please.” with a strained voice.
His hand ghosts yours, hovering over them so he can truly feel that this is real, that this is truly happening. The mask rises above your head and to the side. Shinso doesn’t know whether to cry, punch the air, or do a flip because he’s never felt this feeling before. Underneath the mask lays your smile, warm and bright and perfect. So perfect it’s overwhelming. Hitoshi never held you up to a certain standard, never tried to find something to compare you to, and never doubted you. You’re more handsome than he could have ever imagined. How was it possible to be handsome and pretty? White haze lifts from your eyes and your shoulders relax. When you’ve fully gained control back, you realize how close the two of you are. You can feel his breath against your face, and you almost feel embarrassed with the idea of being so... exposed. Then again, it’s just Shinso. The boy who has a cat on his lockscreen. The boy you walk home with. The boy you have a crush on, and the boy you want to pull closer.
“You didn’t have to brainwash me to get me to do that.”
Fuck. He really, really wants to kiss you.

Something Blue
Continuing from Elsarik week. Alarik, Jenny and Dag belong to @patricia-von-arundel.
Gotta love some angst with a happy ending. Set in @couragedontdesertme‘s Fight For Something verse. Leisel belongs to her.
Something Blue
"Alarik. Alarik."
Leisel's voice sounded strange, distorted. And why was she in their house? Elsa hadn't mentioned…
"Alarik, wake up."
Wake up? But he was…
Something shook him, hard, and he shot upright, the image of his home violently replaced by stark white walls and too-bright lights. Antiseptic replaced the scent of lavender and peppermint, of home. Alarik recognized the hospital waiting room, but why was he-
Elsa! The baby!
He was halfway out of his seat when a hand grabbed his shoulder. Leisel's voice, firmer this time, stopped him.
"Alarik, sit down."
"Elsa! I need-"
"-to sit down!" Leisel tugged, and he relented.
"Alarik. Alarik, look at me." He did, finally realizing just how exhausted his former intern looked. It made his stomach drop- he could not remember a time when she'd looked like that.
"Elsa…" Her name escaped him in a whimper.
"She's stable. They're finishing surgery now and will be moving her to post-op soon. She's not completely out of the woods yet, but her signs are good."
A scream filled the house, a scream that set every hair on edge and made Alarik jump from his seat.
"Elsa? Elsa!"
He took the stairs two at a time, and yet it still felt like ages before he reached their bedroom. When he got there, the copper tang of blood hit him like a physical blow.
Elsa lay curled on her side facing the door, her face contorted in pain. Just as he came to the bed, she spasmed, letting out another desperate scream, and the pool of blood between her legs widened.
"911, what is your location?"
Alarik all but shouted out their address, his phone on the bed, holding Elsa's shoulders as she arched and screamed. He didn't believe in a higher power, but in that moment he prayed to the universe itself to let him take her pain on himself. Let him endure it rather than Elsa, who had endured far too much.
"Please…" Whether he was talking to the dispatcher or the universe, he wasn't sure. "...help."
Alarik pinched the bridge of his nose, trying not to let the memories overwhelm him. "There was so much blood…"
Leisel nodded. "She had a placental abruption. The placenta came away from the uterine wall, and that's what caused the bleeding. We were able to stop it, although she may need more transfusions- that remains to be seen."
Alarik took a moment to process the information. "And… what about… what about the baby?"
"He's in the NICU right now." Leisel paused for a moment, then the hand resting on his shoulder gave a squeeze. "Go visit him, Alarik. It's going to take some time to get Elsa in a room where you can see her. Once she's situated, we'll let you know. Go see your son."
…..
The neonatal ward was dim and warm, filled with muted beeps and dings both familiar and strange from his own oncology ward. A nurse led him to an incubator near the back, and Alarik laid eyes on his son for the first time.
He's so tiny!
"He is, but he'll grow."
Alarik blinked, not realizing he'd spoken aloud. The nurse- 'Abbey', her name tag read- pulled one of the folding chairs from nearby up to the incubator. Alarik murmured his thanks and sat down, pressing a hand to the glass.
And for the first time, in the relative quiet of the NICU, he allowed himself to finally cry.
The weight and emotions of the past several hours rushed out in burning tears and hitching breaths. He hunched over, hands gripping his hair, trying to keep the noise down.
There was a scrape of a chair, and suddenly he was wrapped in a hug. "Let it all out," a familiar voice murmured.
Alarik wiped away the tears blurring his vision. "Anna?"
She handed him a wad of tissues, and he noticed her eyes were red and wet as well. Still, she was able to manage a small, crooked smile.
"Kristoff took Neta and Jenny to the zoo. Leisel texted me. Said you could use someone with you."
Alarik turned to look at the incubator, and his hands curled into fists. "I failed them. It's my fault…"
"How?"
Alarik's head snapped up. "What?"
Anna's eyes bored into him. "How is it your fault? Was it her choice to keep the pregnancy?"
"Of course!"
"Did you force yourself on her?"
"I would never…!"
"Did you hurt her? Hit her? Push her?"
"Anna!" Anger flared up in him. How could she even insinuate…?
"Then it can't be your fault. Anymore than it's mine."
"Yours!?" Incredulousness replaced anger- Anna had been nothing but supportive and ecstatic throughout Elsa's pregnancy.
Anna dropped her gaze to her hands. "Do you know what I thought when she first told me she was pregnant again? I thought it was the most unfair thing I'd known. I was pissed. She didn't have to go through years of cancer, only to have a pregnancy that nearly killed her, and made sure she would never have another child."
Anna's hands balled into fists. "It was so childish. And I know Elsa would have given anything for me to have another baby. When you called and told me she was bleeding? All I could think was that somehow I caused it to happen."
Alarik shook his head. "Anna, no! There's no way-"
"I know that, but I still feel guilty. Just like you're feeling. And we both know it's nothing compared to the guilt Elsa will feel. If we let ourselves go down that path, she'll blame herself. For everything."
Anna reached over and squeezed his hand. "It's okay to feel sad, even angry. Just… don't beat yourself up over this. We're going to get through this. All of us." She released his hand, opened her arms, and without hesitation, Alarik leaned into the much-needed hug. He was about to thank her when Anna went stiff, shaking his shoulder.
"Alarik, look!"
His head jerked towards the incubator, and he gasped.
………
The smell hit her first. Antiseptic, as familiar to her as if it were her home. But why was she at work? Hadn't she been at home?
"Elsa."
His voice, as warm as the hand that brushed across her cheek. She cracked open her eyes, and almost immediately shut them against the brightness. She heard Alarik shift and grunt, there was a slight click, and the light beyond her lids dimmed. She tentatively opened her eyes, finding the light level far more tolerable.
She turned to her husband, blinking slowly as she tried to take in her surroundings. She was in the hospital, but not in her classroom. Why was she-?
The baby!
She gasped as everything came back. The sudden pain, blood streaming down her legs, screaming for Alarik to come, to help…
"Elsa, please, you need to lie down. You just came out of surgery."
"The baby, Alarik. What happened to him?"
"He's in the NICU." Another voice, even more familiar than Alarik's. Anna walked into the room, grabbing a chair to sit opposite Alarik. She swept the bangs back from Elsa's forehead. "Just for now, alright?"
Elsa felt tears forming at the corners of her eyes. She'd failed to keep her son safe, and he was suffering because of her. A calloused thumb gently brushed the tears away.
"It's not your fault, Elsa. None of it. Please, min älskling, don't let yourself go there. He's here, and that's what matters. He's here. And Elsa, he's so beautiful." Alarik pulled his phone from his pocket and unlocked it. He swiped a few times, then handed it over to her. "Look at him!"
She took the phone, and her hand flew to cover her mouth. He was surrounded by tubes and wires, but that wasn't what drew Elsa's attention. Despite only being half-open, she was clearly able to see that her son's eyes were a brilliant blue.
She let the tears flow freely, but a smile was forming, and something like hope began to grow in her chest.

Lucas, Dustin and I take our seats once we get to class.
"Oh, that can't be good." I sigh, gesturing to Mike's empty seat.
"Yeah, he's never this late," Dustin added.
"I'm telling you, his stupid plan failed," Lucas stated.
"I thought you liked his plan?"
"Yeah, but obviously it's stupid, or he'd be here."
"If his mom found out a girl spent the night—" Dustin began.
"He's in deep shit right about now."
Dustin shifted in his seat, and leaned forward, whispering loud enough for us to hear. "Hey, what if she slept naked?"
"Ugh!" My face screws into a sour, disgusted look aimed at my brother, unintentionally speaking at the same time as Lucas. "Why would she do that, Dustin?"
"Oh, my God, she didn't."
"Oh, if Mrs. Wheeler tells our parents..."
The thought of Mom finding out was enough to elicit an anxious groan from me, and I let my forehead fall against desk where I buried my face.
"No way. Mike would never rat us out."
I hesitantly looked up, making eye contact with Lucas. He gave me a reassuring smile, knowing I worry easily.
"I don't know." Dustin said warily.
"All that matters is, after school, the freak will be back in the loony bin, and we can focus on what really matters, finding Will." I frown at his specific choice of words for El, thinking back on how scared she seemed last night. I desperately want to say something, but decided against it, not wanting to get in a fight. Fighting won't get us any closer to finding Will.

Mike Wheeler rides his bike down the small slope of grass towards his front yard. When El refused to let Mike's mom know she was there, Mike had no choice but to resort to plan b. He had led his mom to believe that he had ridden to school when in reality he had stopped around the corner until both his parents were gone.
When he got to the driveway, he dismounted his bike and led it into the garage, however something caught his eye. He stared in awe as the once withered and frankly the most miserable looking plant he had ever seen in his life, was now a beautiful lush green and stood as tall his knees. 'How had Y/n done it?'
It took a solid moment for Mike to gather his thoughts and focus on the task at hand. He parked his bike and made his way inside.
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
"You want anything to drink?" Mike decided to take advantage of the empty house so that he could show El around. "We have OJ, skim milk... What else? Um, we have..."
Mike trailed off when he saw that El was more fascinated with the things in his living room, mostly his TV set.
"Oh, this is my living room. It's mostly just for watching TV."
El lightly traced her fingers around the frame of the TV as she examined it.
"Nice, right? It's a 22-inch.
That's, like, ten times bigger than Dustin's."
El turned her head and said quietly.
"Y/n."
"Well, yeah of course. Y/n too."
"Y/n. Brother?" She asked, making sure she remembered correctly.
"Yeah!" Mike smiled, then lightly shrugged. "Well, technically adopted. But yeah, they're still brothers."
El's brows furrowed in confusion.
"Ad-adopted?"
"Yeah, um, it means that he came from different parents. Mrs. Henderson adopted him because his parents were unable to take care of him. It's funny actually, Y/n is from Hawkins. Or at least that's where they found him. They didn't used to live in Hawkins; I don't know much about it cause Dustin was so young he doesn't remember any of it, but I think him and his mom were visiting family here and they just... found him, I think? I'm pretty sure that's why they moved here, or something."
El seemed to understand as she thought about it. She then turned to look at the all the pictures on top of the fireplace. She slowly walks to the fireplace and steps up onto the brick platform. She gazes at all the family photos. Particularly, the photo beside the one of Mike; of a smiling girl, a little older than herself, with long brown hair and a pink sweater.
She smiles longingly and speaks in a soft voice. "Pretty."
"I guess." Mike's face is contorted in confusion and a little in disgust.
"That's my sister Nancy. And that's baby Holly." He said as she moved to the slightly larger photo of a young baby. She then moved along to a photo with Mike, Nancy, and Holly, along with two other people she didn't recognize.
"And those are my parents. What are your parents like?" As usual, El says nothing and she steps down from the fireplace and walks up to a large green chair.
"Do they live close?" Mike continued. He notices El run her hand along the top of the plush green chair. "That's our La-Z-Boy. It's where my dad sleeps. You can try it if you want." He offers. El looked up at him, intrigued. "Yeah." He assured her, with a warm smile on his face. She cautiously sits down as Mike kneels down beside the chair. "It's fun!"
She looked to Mike, wondering what he is up to.
"Just trust me, okay?" She gives a quick nod, and braces herself, not knowing what to expect. She is taken aback by the sudden collapse of the chair, she is now laying down and the chair is rocking back and forth. She lets out a gasp, and then a nervous chuckle.
"See? Fun, right?"
With one hand on the back of the chair, and the other on the front, he brings the chair back into its default position. "Now you try."
With a small smile on her face, and feeling more confident she leans over the side and pulls the handle, letting her entire body go flying backward into a slow rock. Mike and El both look at each other and laugh gleefully.

Some random rock song on the radio that Jonathan barely recognized came to an end as Jonathan Byers drove to his dad's house. His eyes darted to the radio unit in his car for a moment as his heart fell when the familiar sound of "Should I Stay or Should I Go" rang throughout the car.
- 𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 -
"Darlin', you got to let me know"
Jonathan is sat on the edge of the bed next to his younger brother Will. The two of them are in Will's room, bobbing their heads along to 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' by The Clash.
"Should I stay or should I go?"
"You like it?" Jonathan had to raise his voice so he could be heard over the loud song. Will looks to his older brother and grins.
"Yeah, it's cool!"
"All right, you can keep the mix if you want."
"Really?"
"Yeah, really. All the best stuff's on there. Joy Division, Bowie, Television, The Smith's... It'll totally change your life."
"Yeah, totally," Will says with a smile. However, the smile is quick to leave when the two boys hear their mother yelling on the phone.
"Where the hell are you, Lonnie?"
Will slowly turns his head to the door, listening to his mother yell at his absent father.
"I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear it." Jonathan mimics his brother's actions and looks to the door. Finally, he gets up and walks towards the door.
"This is ridiculous! I'm so sick of your excuses.
"One day is fine and next is black"
Before Jonathan sits down, he lowers the volume on the stereo.
"He's not coming, is he?"
"Do you even like baseball?" Jonathan asks softly.
"No, but... I don't know." He shrugs sadly. "It's fun to go with him sometimes."
"Come on. Has he ever done anything with you that you actually like? You know, like the arcade or something?"
Will shrugs his shoulders weakly. "I don't know."
"No, all right? He hasn't. He's trying to force you to like normal things. And you shouldn't like things because people tell you you're supposed to. Okay?"
Will only looks down at his feet sadly.
"Especially not him."
Will silently nods his head in understanding.
Jonathan decided to change the subject.
"But you like The Clash? For real?"
Will nods his head eagerly with a smile. "For real. Definitely."
"So... is Y/n a fan of The Clash?" Jonathan asks, genuinely curious.
A faint blush dusts Will's cheeks as he looks down at his hands. "Um, yeah, I think so."
"Maybe you should show this to him. I bet he'll like it."
"Maybe. You think?"
"Yeah, from what I know, he has great taste. He's pretty cool."
A loving smile spreads across Will's face. "Yeah, he is pretty cool."
There's a small pause filled only with the now dulled melody of drums and guitar drifting through the air. They had talked about it before, but only vaguely, never fully addressing it and it dawned on Jonathan that there was probably still loads of fear for Will because of it. He looks down at his brother who he loved more than anything and sent him an encouraging, honest smile.
"Will, you guys are best friends. You two are just too close to ruin the friendship. Why don't you think about asking him to the arcade or something? Just the two of you, maybe come back here for some mac and cheese or something if that'd make you feel safer, and you could " he shrugs. "let him know how you feel?"
Will looked up at his brother, shocked. But his body was flushed with relief, he could feel the air in the room hitting his sweaty and clammey skin giving him chills. Not quite knowing how to handle his brothers reaction, his eyes simply fall to his hands where they fidgeting in his lap.
"But what if that does ruin the friendship? What if he doesn't feel the same way, and decides to stop hanging out with me. Or if someone finds out- I just- I just can't. I'm not ready."
"That's okay. All I'm saying is, he is way too nice to be the kind of person who would do that. And you are way too important to him. And hey, if you ever do feel ready, or you guys do go out in the future..." Jonathan trails off, sensing the awkwardness creep up. He chuckles and looks back to his brother.
"All I'm trying to say is, I'm here for you. Always."
Will smiles gratefully and Jonathan leans forward to the volume back up.
"Should I stay or should I go? So you gotta let me know, should I stay or should I go?"

The cacophonous trill of shattering glass erupted through the space. Raised voices, thick with rage, echoed off the walls. It was difficult to tell which words were coming from which mouth, the both of you overlapping as you spewed out hatred toward one another.
“What in God’s name is going on here?!” Steve shouted as he entered the room, coming back from a late night run at the most inopportune time.
“Stay the fuck out of it!” Your two voices shrilled together as you both pointed toward Steve.
You could feel your chest heaving and it almost felt as though you were foaming at the mouth. Rage was completely consuming every crevice of your body and spilling out into your actions and your words. You turned back to the object of your aggression and watched as he ran a hand through his hair and turned to walk away from you.
“You’re nothing but a coward, James Barnes. A goddamn selfish, son-of-a-bitch, coward!” You screamed with every ounce of energy you had left in your body.
The two of you had some knock-down drag-outs in your past, but it was nothing compared to this. Months of pent up feelings, insecurities, jealousies, and secrets were all coming to a head at this very moment. The last few months the two of you had been incredibly short with one another - a stark contrast from your usual loving tone. Passionate kisses became brief pecks to the cheek, midnight roaming hands became backs set to one another, and ‘i love you’s’ felt more like a habit than a genuine feeling. In your heart you feared it would come to this one day. No matter how hard you tried, how much you wanted to, you were never going to be able to fix what had been done to the man you loved. There was no amount of love in the world that could reverse the tragedy of the Winter Soldier - at least that’s what you were convinced of now.
The man in front of you turned and strode across the room, minimizing the space between the two of you. His metal hand in a fist as he brought it up to jab a finger into the middle of your chest. Pupils were blown wide, what was once a lustful look was now filled with only pure anger. As he opened his mouth to speak, spit flew into your face.
“And you are a self-righteous, ignorant, self-important bitch!”
As your eyes raked over the contorted facial features of the man standing in front of you, you realized you couldn’t recognize them. The man standing in front of you was not Bucky. It was not the man who twirled a strand of your hair when he sat with his arm behind your chair, not the man who pulled over the car to help a turtle cross the road, and definitely not the man who held you in his arms as he cried after a nightmare. The man standing in front of you was a frightening enigma of hatred and rage. This was not your Bucky. In fact, you were almost certain you lost your Bucky months ago.
* * *
You hadn’t noticed the bouncing of your knee until the man who sat beside you gently cupped it with his hand, stilling your nervous movements. It was enough to break you from your thoughts as you turned your head to meet his kind eyes.
“We don’t have to do this, you know. I’ll have them turn the car around and we’ll go back to the airport. We catch the next flight back home.” He whispered in reassurance. Even though your mind was anxiously racing, you couldn’t help but smile at the compassionate gesture.
“Of course we do,” you started, cupping his cheek with your hand as the sunlight glinted off your pristine wedding ring, “Tony was one of the most important people in my life. Plus, I’m pretty sure he would haunt me if I didn’t go to his funeral.”
8 years ago you promised yourself in the taxi ride to the airport that you would never step foot in this place again. That all changed when you got the news of Tony’s death. Your time working with the Avengers was a life-changing experience and it was all thanks to Tony. The memory of him seeking you out to work alongside Dr. Banner in the research lab was one that you could never forget. Tony was an arrogant, pompous asshole but he was undeniably a good man. You would curse yourself for the rest of your days if you let your own baggage get in the way of that.
“Alright,” your husband responded with a sigh as he squeezed your knee, “But please, promise you’ll tell me if there’s anything I can do for you.”
“Promise.” An agreement that you sealed with a kiss.
Mike was a good man, he was someone who cared for you deeply and who made you feel safe. After your transfer to the DC Shield Office, you had sworn off any more office romances. Those never ended well. That was until your path crossed with Mike. From the beginning of the relationship, you were upfront about your past issues with relationships and how you weren’t ready to dive into anything and he simply stated that he was okay with that, that he would wait.
The marriage was a happy one, Mike always playing the role of doting, caring husband. No matter how much you pushed back against him, he was always willing to give you space and to let you feel what you were experiencing. Mike was a good man. But he wasn’t him.
Your gaze left his as your eyes returned to the skyline, the familiar pressure clawing its way back to your chest. It’d been 8 years since you saw him. 8 years since you packed your bags and left the only home you’d ever truly known. Sure, you had this new life - a new husband, new friends, new job with similar duties, but there was still a piece of you that was missing. A piece you knew could never possibly be filled again. You had come to terms with that, slowly, but it had happened eventually. Now that you were back, you knew you were going to have to see him again - see all of them again. While a lot of good memories resided within this area, there was a hell of a lot of pain that went along with it. All you could do in that moment was remind yourself that you were here for Tony - to honor his memory and pay your respects. You didn’t owe anything else to anyone else. Something in your chest, however, told you that wouldn’t be the way things played out.
* * *
The service was beautifully executed. It was obvious that Pepper had poured her heart and soul into ensuring that Tony Stark was remembered as he should have been. The walls of your heart tightened as you saw Pepper clutching their young daughter to her side. Although Tony had made a lot of mistakes in his life, he spent his last years making sure to do good and to make things right. While it felt like a hot knife had been stabbed into your chest as you said goodbye to a once dear friend, you took solace in knowing that Tony was so loved by so many. That his legacy would live on in so many different ways. And that Pepper was there to say goodbye.
It had been your plan to attend the service and then leave immediately after it had ended. Of course, life has a funny way of never doing quite what we want it to.
It was Sam who stopped you first, pulling you into a tight hug against his form as your fingers gripped his jacket. Sam, being the angel he was, never once mentioned anything from the past and instead expressed his happiness with seeing you again and learning that you were doing well. The one thing Sam was not good at however, was keeping his mouth shut. Word quickly traveled through the crowd of your attendance and one by one old friends began to find you. Wanda didn’t have much to say but kept you in a grateful embrace while you expressed your condolences for Vision. In a shocking turn of events, It was actually Peter who was the most difficult to see. The once bright, happy-go-lucky, smiling boy was visibly devastated - heavy dark bags lingered under his eyes and his glow had been severely dimmed by the loss of his mentor. You couldn’t help but cry as you held him in your arms, expressing to him how proud of him Tony was and how he’d told you just that on several occasions.
After the hellos, the hugs, and the reminiscing you had told yourself that was it, that you were going to leave. It was then that Pepper stopped you with a soft hand on your shoulder, a kind smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes, and a warm embrace. After a pause of silence, she pulled away and invited you and Mike to stay for the gathering that had been planned following the service. Your mind screamed at you, begging you to politely decline - tell her you had to get back to DC, that you had a flight already booked that you couldn’t miss, that you had important business to get back to.
“Of course, Pepper. We’d love to.”
* * *
The gathering was exactly what Tony would have wanted. It was family and friends gathered around eating and drinking, but most of all - it was a bunch of people talking about Tony Stark.
You told Mike before the two of you arrived that you would stay for 20 minutes tops. That it simply would be out of respect for Pepper and once you felt your presence had been noted that the two of you would slip out unnoticed in the sea of people.
That was 2 hours ago.
Laughs came easy, tears flowed frequently, and stories were shared amongst friends. Surprising to you, it felt good to be around these people again. A familiar pang of home would hit you every now and again as you reconnected with those who you hadn’t seen in years. You introduced Mike to your old friends, who welcomed him warmly and with open arms. What you had thought would be a stressful, gut-wrenching day had actually turned out to be a joyful celebration of life. The day had been progressing smoothly and you wanted to chastise yourself for being so pessimistic.
That was, until you saw him.
Hands stuffed into the pockets of a black bomber jacket, long chestnut hair falling onto his shoulders, and a familiar collection of facial hair decorating the lower half of his face. He looked as terrible as you felt at the beginning of the day. Dark circles had only grown more prominent beneath his beautiful blue eyes and the corners of his lips were drawn down in a permanent frown. You couldn’t help but notice that he’d lost a considerable amount of weight. The once broad, thick man was now far more lean and toned than you ever remember him being.
A breath caught in your throat as the cerulean eyes met yours. Unable to stop yourself, you shoved your drink into Mike’s chest and hurried off to the nearest bathroom. Barely making it in time, you emptied your day’s stomach contents into the toilet. Breathing heavily, you fought back sobs as they threatened to leave your throat. To anyone else, it may seem you were simply grieving the loss of your friend, perhaps taking it harder than most. Oh how you wish that were the case.
You knew it would be difficult to see him again, but you didn’t expect it to feel as though someone had set your entire body ablaze. The heavy feeling of grief, anxiety, and stress from the beginning of the day was crushing your lungs, your stomach still trying to lurch although it had nothing left to give up, and tears burned the rims of your eyes. As you cleaned yourself up and flushed the toilet, you exited the stall to wash your hands and rinse your mouth. You tried to convince yourself it was the entire day's worth of emotions that had led you to this moment. That man no longer had this kind of hold on you - you had moved on. Or, so you thought.
Slowly, your gaze met your reflection in the mirror. The woman there looked worn and tired, like she had been fighting a raging war that she had been losing miserably. Mascara had begun to run down the apples of her cheeks and lipstick was smeared across her mouth. A heavy sigh left your lips as you did your best to make yourself more presentable. A shaky hand entered your clutch as you retrieved your lipstick and applied another layer. You gave yourself a final once-over and decided that your current appearance was as good as it was going to get. Just as you were going to turn around and return to the party there was movement in the mirror that caught your eye. The door was being pushed open from the outside. You turned to protest, to let the intruder know that the bathroom was occupied.
“Excuse me, sorry, there’s someone--”
It felt as though all the air had been taken from your lungs and your heart threatened to beat out of your chest as you came face to face with the man you had tried so hard, for so long, to forget. It was as though you were frozen in time, as if he were Medusa - turning you instantly to stone. Logically, the thing to do would be to tell him to get out or for you to leave the bathroom so that he could occupy the space alone. However, all you could do was stand and watch as he closed the bathroom door behind him, as his fingers closed around the lock and clicked it into place.
Then it was just the two of you. Bodies unmoving, aside from the rapid rise and fall of your chests in tandem. The air felt 100 degrees warmer than it had when you were alone. The silence, paired with the thump of your heartbeat, was deafening to your ears. You were hyper-aware of his gaze as he studied you the way you had him not minutes before. His eyes finally met yours once more and there was a poignant silence before he finally spoke.
“Can’t believe you still have that dress.”
Your eyes blinked a few times, brain trying to process his words and the situation you had currently found yourself to be in. You looked down to the front of your dress and smoothed your hands down it. How could you have gone the whole day without realizing that the dress you were wearing had been a gift from Bucky on your first anniversary? You were positive you had rid yourself of anything even remotely related to him. In fact, you distinctly recall dumping a box of momentos into a barrel and tossing a lit match inside. You don’t remember making the conscious decision to keep the dress, or why you would have made the decision. Now here you were - mere feet away from the man who had put it on and so delicately took it off of you many times.
“S’perfectly good dress. Shouldn’t go to waste.” Was all you could muster as a response in that moment.
The man before you took a step forward and you took a step back, hips coming into contact with the cold marble counter of the sink.
“Thought I’d never see you again. Y’look...different.” His gaze roaming its way down your body once more.
As his eyes landed on the diamond ring nestled onto the 4th finger of your left hand, you felt a lump begin to form in your throat.
“Congratulations.” His words were cold. Inauthentic. “He’s a lucky guy.”
“What the fuck are you doing in here, James?” The words were supposed to be sharp, but instead came out shaky and insecure.
“Saw you out there, starin’ at me. Guess I just wanted a closer look at you.”
By the end of the sentence he had closed the gap between the two of you even more, chests threatening to bump one another. His metal hand slowly reached forward and brushed a piece of hair off your shoulder. The cool appendage felt like fire against your skin and you know he heard the way you sharply inhaled, but you just couldn’t help it. You swallowed hard, head reeling and knees trying to buckle beneath you when you felt his cool palm cup your fiery cheek. It took everything in your body to avert your eyes from him, especially when you felt him even closer than before - warm breath fanning the expanse of your face. Why was he doing this? What was he going to accomplish? The fight or flight response in your body was screaming at you to push him away and run, but you didn’t.
“I’ve thought about you every day since you left, sweets. There’s not a moment that passes by where you’re not on my mind.”
Your eyes closed tightly, tears now welling up and spilling over.
“Everything you said about me that night was true. I am a coward. A coward who lost the best fuckin’ thing that ever happened to his sorry, broken ass.”
A small sob escaped your chest as your hand flew to your mouth, failing to keep it from tumbling out. Bucky found a loose thread and was slowly unraveling everything you’d worked toward in the last 8 years, every step toward progress and peace that you had worked so hard to find.
“I’m so fuckin’ sorry, doll” Bucky was now fully cupping your face with his large, calloused hands, “I’m so sorry that you fell in love with someone like me - a broken son of a bitch who never got put back together. I’m sorry that I hurt you so badly. I’m sorry I didn’t protect you the way I promised I would. I’m sorry that -”
In a moment of weakness, before he could finish his sentence, you were crashing your lips to his. There was nothing else that existed in your world - there was only you and there was only Bucky. Seemingly moving on their own accord, your hands found their way into his hair, grasping wildly for something to hold on to. As your fingers tugged on his roots, Bucky let out a deep moan into the kiss, sending a shiver down your spine.
The kiss was sloppy and desperate, all tongue and teeth. It was a balance of dominance between the two of you - although you were the one who initiated the kiss, Bucky was the first one to gain access to the inside of your mouth, and you were the first to tug his lower lip between your teeth. A pathetic mewl left your lips as Bucky’s mouth began trailing wet kisses across your jaw and down the column of your throat. The heartbeat in your ears from earlier was much worse now, making your head throb in pain. Every nerve ending in your body felt as though it was on fire and a small voice in the back of your head kept pleading with you to stop. For a moment you entertained the idea of shoving him off and telling him to fuck off, but that was before he started sucking that spot on your neck that he knew drove you mad. It was your turn to moan this time as you involuntarily arched your back, pressing yourself up against his firm torso.
You knew the way that you were tugging on the strands of his hair had to be incredibly painful but it only seemed to urge Bucky to continue. A soft gasp tumbled past your lips as you felt Bucky’s thigh push against your aching core. The sensation had you digging your fingernails into the back of his jacket as you finally released your grip on his hair. Before you could stop yourself, you could feel your hips grinding yourself down against his clothed thigh. Your dress had been pushed up around your waist, now only a small piece of cloth covering you as you desperately chased a high.
“I shoulda never let you go. Shoulda been at the airport to stop you before you got on that plane.”
His teeth sunk into your pulse point once more, earning himself another moan from your lips. The sting was soon replaced with the cool sensation of his tongue tracing the marks he had left.
“I love you, doll. I haven’t ever stopped lovin’ you.”
“Show me,” you whimpered pathetically against his shoulder, “show me you love me, Bucky. Please.”
An audible breath caught in his throat as he pulled himself back to look at you. Your chest was heaving, make-up smeared once more, and your pupils were blown wide with lust. You obviously weren’t able to see the look you gave him, but judging by the way he looked back at you it was fair to say you looked broken, pathetic, and desperate for him. The eyes looking back at you had the softness to them that you remember, the strokes of his hands against your body contained the passion that you’d so been longing for, and the tone in his voice told you that he was desperate for you too.
Within seconds your feet were lifted from the ground and your ass made contact with the cold, wet countertop. There wasn’t a lot of room, objects were scattered onto the floor and others were left to push into your hips with aggressive force, but you just didn’t care. It was impossible to care when Bucky moved your knees apart and dragged a finger along your clothed pussy. The sensation made your head fall back against the mirror with a hard thud but you couldn’t feel any of the pain from it at all. The only thing you felt was the way electricity rippled through your body when he used his thumb to apply pressure to your aching clit. Bucky groaned and rested his forehead against yours, lips slightly parted as he felt your need for him growing.
“So wet for me, just like I remember. Lemme make you feel good, sweets, hmm?” He had leaned forward to whisper softly in your ear as his teeth grazed your lobe.
It was you who reached down and shoved your panties down your thighs, meeting a surprised look from Bucky as he helped you drag them down to hang around your ankle. Bucky’s tongue darted out to wet his bottom lip as he hooked his hands underneath your knees to spread your legs open for him. Another groan came from him, this time more guttural than the last. You felt small underneath his gaze and the cool air in the bathroom brushing across your soaking core made you shiver.
Your hand flew to your mouth to suppress the noises you made as his finger slipped through your folds, running up and down to collect your wetness.
“More. God. Please, Buck. Need more.” You whined, attempting to roll your hips against his hand to find any form of friction that you could.
“Anything for you, baby.” He whispered as he gently inserted a finger inside of you. The two of you moaned in tandem.
There was a brief moment of embarrassment with the way your walls immediately clenched around his finger and the way his finger immediately found that soft spot. It was shortly replaced with a feeling of ecstasy. Bucky captured your lips with his to swallow your moans as he added another finger. The way his fingers were curling and pumping inside of you already had you close to the edge. Bucky pulled back and held your gaze as he added pressure to your clit with his thumb, circling the area as his fingers continued to repeatedly hit that spot inside of you.
“Please, please don’t stop.” You begged as you felt the pressure building within the lower part of your body.
“S’okay. I’m right here.” Bucky’s other hand was cradling the back of your head as he whispered to you. “I know you’re close. Can feel you squeezin’ me. You can let go for me, I got you.”
As your eyes met his, foreheads pressed together, you finally came apart. The white hot sensation tears through you as your legs quake. You squeeze your eyes shut and allow Bucky to help you ride through your orgasm as he peppers light kisses along your neck.
“I almost forgot how pretty you look when you cum.”
You whine at the emptiness and loss of contact when Bucky removes his fingers from your center. As your eyes flutter open you see him push the fingers into his mouth and suck them clean. The look on his face was euphoric.
“God. Almost forgot how fuckin’ sweet you taste too.”
Mustering up all the strength you had, you sat up and pulled him closer by his belt. The two of you worked together to rid him of his pants and boxers. Your hand wrapped around him, thumb swiping the red tip and using the pre-cum to help lubricate as you pumped your hand down his length. Bucky’s jaw clenched as he moaned at the sensation. Just as you were going to leave the counter, you felt his hands grabbing your shoulders and halting your movements.
“Maybe a different time, sweets. But right now I gotta be inside you.”
You caught your bottom lip as you nodded and released your hold on him. Bucky’s hands wrapped around your thighs as he pulled your hips to the edge of the sink. The metal hand left your thigh as he grabbed himself at the base and pushed his length through your folds. The two of you once more shared a moan at the sensation. As he lined himself up with your entrance, your hands wrapped around his neck to pull him in for another kiss. The next thing you felt was the familiar sting of his cock stretching your walls as he slid into you. Your lips left his and your forehead found itself pressed against his once more. Both of you panting heavily as neither of you dared to speak a word.
Following a moment of silence, allowing your body time to stretch to accommodate him, you nodded slowly as to signal to him that it would be okay for him to move. His thrusts were slow and calculated at first, as if he was attempting to regain his memory of your body - one that he once knew so well. You couldn’t help but dig your fingernails into his shoulder as you held on to him for dear life, subconsciously afraid that if you were to let go of him he’d be gone again forever.
“Faster, Bucky. Please.” You whimpered into his ear as you took his earlobe between your teeth and nibbled softly.
A low growl left his chest as he grabbed your hips and lifted you off the counter, moving slightly so that he could cage your body against the wall. You wrapped your legs firmly around his waist, locking them at the ankle. His thrusts became faster, deeper, and it was apparent he had gained his confidence back.
“You feel so fuckin’ good, baby. Just the way I remember.” He grunted as he dug his fingers harder into your hips.
His lips were on yours again, this time tears were starting to decorate the corners of your eyes. The pleasure, the regret, the passion, the guilt - every feeling was building up along with your orgasm. Bucky pulled away from the kiss to tap on your bottom lip with two of his fingers, which you greedily accepted into your mouth. Your tongue swirled around his digits until he pulled them out and used them to circle your clit. The added pleasure was almost too much to handle.
“C’mon, baby. Wanna cum with you. Can you do that for me, huh?” Bucky whimpered, his thrusts beginning to falter from the calculated snaps he was giving you before.
All you could do was nod your head quickly as the pressure steadily increased, bringing you to the brink of your second orgasm.
“I love you. I love you. I love you so fuckin’ much, oh my god.” Bucky grunted as the two of you reached your peak together.
You leaned forward to bite down on his shoulder and suppress the scream that left your mouth as pleasure erupted through your body. The two of you assisted each other through the high of your release and you felt your ass make contact with the cool countertop once more.
The only noise present in the space was your heavy breathing and a small dripping noise that came from the sink. Bucky’s final words before he came replayed in your head over and over again as you attempted to slow your breathing and bring yourself back down to earth. Your body shuttered slightly as Bucky slipped himself out of you. As you sat up, you noticed he was looking around the bathroom.
“Shit, sweets. I don’t think there’s anything I can use to help clean you up.” He sighed and turned to meet your gaze that was locked upon him.
“It’s fine, Buck. Not a big deal.”
Bucky bent over and helped you pull your panties back on before he redressed himself. Neither of you spoke for what felt like eternity.
“I-...” You muttered finally, “I love you too, Buck. I thought I was over you, I thought I moved on but...I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop loving you no matter how hard I try.”
Bucky reached out to stroke your cheek with the back of his hand as he listened to you lament to him. His eyes were soft and caring and you could almost swear he was looking into the depths of your soul.
“I think —“
Your conversation was cut short by the sound of knocking at the bathroom door.
“Hey, are you okay in there? Do you need anything?” Mike’s voice had your entire body flooded with the shame of your infidelity. In one swift movement, you were on the floor and turning the sink on to make it appear you were just washing your hands.
“Y-yeah I’m fine! Just finishing up! I’ll find you out there in a minute!” You squeaked.
Mike seemed to pause for a moment before you heard his footsteps retreat from the bathroom door. A wave of relief washed over you, but it was only temporary. As soon as you were relaxed the gravity of the situation you were in was clouding you once more.
“I have to go. I can’t give him any reason to think he needs to come in here.” Bucky nodded, eyes not leaving yours as you spoke while collecting yourself, “but we need to..we should..we have to address this. Later.”
“I agree.”
“Our flight leaves tomorrow night. I’ll...see what I can come up with as far as an excuse. Then we can put this to bed for good.”
“Absolutely, sweets.”
The nickname made your knees buckle once more as you sighed.
“Goodbye, James.”
You finally tore your eyes from his as you unlocked the door and slipped out of the bathroom. In reality, however, you knew this really wasn’t goodbye. Not even close.

The first thing that jolts you awake isn’t the numbing cold prickling your skin, nor is it the familiar sensation of having the duvet tugged away from your sound asleep body, no, it’s the abrupt animalistic snore in your ear.
You scramble into a sitting position, back resting against the headboard and legs tucked. Your heart lurches in your chest and you place your fist to it like that would do anything to calm its hammering. This paralysing fear only worsens the headache you’re currently experiencing. Cold sweat runs down your back as you face the person—or entity—that had just created that horrid sound.
With the strands of his soft hair falling into his eyes and his smooth golden skin illuminated by the fresh morning sunlight pouring through the blinds, Donghyuck looks beautiful, no, ethereal, nestled away beneath the covers. Your cheeks begin to grow warm. It’s unfair really, how nice he looks, peacefully asleep (besides the trail of spit dribbling from the corner of his mouth, that is). You can’t believe a sound that unholy came from someone who looks like that.
Your eyes dart warily across the interior of the room. Muted grey walls surround you, pictures of varying sizes hanging precariously from nails. A shelf lines the wall to your right, the first and second shelf packed with books of different kinds. Most of them, you recognise, are ones you have too. The college listed them as mandatory and you remember grumbling to Donghyuck about the ridiculous cost of them. On the right of the bookshelf sits a table, crowded with notebooks and eraser shavings. A laptop is half open on the table and there’s a single sticker beside the mouse pad. A familiar photo of you and Donghyuck from high school rests against the wall and past you smiles at you. You’ve been here before. Even though Hyuck just moved in with his best friend Mark last week, you’d been here twice, not including now. Since you’ve known Donghyuck, which was in like kindergarten, his room had somewhat become yours and vice-versa. You turn to face your childhood friend beside you.
Your heart rate begins to accelerate. Why are you in the same bed as Donghyuck? And where the fuck are his clothes?
You vigorously shake him awake, unable to hide your fret. “Hyuck!” He mumbles something in his sleep. “Hyuck! Wake up!”
Donghyuck groans, eyes squinted as they’re immediately greeted by the blinding sunlight flooding the room. He rubs the sleep out of his eyes with the back of his hand, propping himself up with an elbow.
His eyelids are still droopy and you frown. “Are you high?” Some stoner friend of Hyuck’s had come over last night and you wouldn’t be surprised if Donghyuck had taken a hit.
He shakes his head slowly, hair sticking out in all possible directions. “No, I’m just- I think I'm just hungover.” You visibly notice the way the early morning grogginess leaves him and is replaced with a feeling of bewilderment. “Why are you in my bed?” His head swivels to scan the room, face contorted into one of confusion. “How did we get here?”
You disregard his concerns, because both of you being half-naked is far more concerning. You decide to leave that mystery for later. “Hyuck, why are you naked?”
As if he’s just realised the fact, Donghyuck shields his bare chest from your eyes with his arms. “I’m not completely naked! I’ve, uhh,” he lifts the covers, peeking beneath them, “I have some shorts on.” You roll your eyes. That doesn’t help in the slightest. Donghyuck scoffs at your reaction.
The two of you stare at each other in silence, trying to process what’s going on and what on Earth happened yesterday. All you can recall from last night is showing up to Donghyuck’s party, the both of you immediately scurrying to the alcohol and downing anything you could get your hands on. Everything after that has now become one of Mother Nature’s greatest mysteries.
You try to come up with a logical explanation with all the evidence presented to you. You’re in bed in only an oversized shirt and your underwear with Hyuck, and he’s half-naked. You two had gotten absolutely thrashed last night and had no semblance of an idea as to what had happened. Did you two… No, you hadn’t… But, maybe you two—
“Did we have sex last night?”
You flush a deep red. You didn’t expect Donghyuck to bring it up so casually. You bite the flesh of your inner cheek. “I don’t remember. In fact, I don’t remember anything that happened last night.”
Donghyuck huffs. He flops back onto the bed, clasping his hands atop his toned stomach. You haven’t seen him so… exposed before. The last time you had was probably five years ago at your ex-boyfriend Jeno’s pool party. He’s definitely more well-built now, an ab-line beginning to reveal itself. Donghyuck’s cheeks seem to be adorning an adorable pink tint too. “Me neither.”
Seeing his nonchalance, your shoulders loosen considerably. You let your head fall back onto the headboard, stretching out your bare legs. The movement catches Donghyuck’s eye, but he swiftly averts his gaze, clearing his throat. “So, I guess we did.”
“Oh.” Donghyuck nods curtly. “Cool.”
“Yeah,” you pick at your nails, “cool.”
Donghyuck glances to the bedside drawer and then to the rubbish bin. “Did we, uhm, did we at least use protection?”
“Well, shit, I hope we did,” you fiddle with the edges of Hyuck’s covers, “I mean I really like you but I wouldn’t let you raw me the first time we have sex.” You can feel his intent stare, his eyes boring into you, making your skin crawl with unease. “But I’m on the pill, so I should be fine.” Hyuck still hasn’t let up, probably because his childhood friend of fifteen hears just confessed to him. “Follow me to the store to get a morning-after pill, okay?”
Donghyuck blinks. Once. Twice. “Oh, yeah, totally.” You’re praying he doesn’t bring up what you just said.
“You like me?”
Damn.
“Well, yeah.” You tack your gaze onto the ground.
Donghyuck, being the cheeky little bastard he is, shoves his face in your line of sight. He grins, planting both of his palms on your cheeks, forcing you to face him. “Say it again.”
Your face grows crimson. You feign ignorance, averting eye-contact. “Say what again?”
“Don’t act dumb,” Hyuck says, smiling coyly. “Say it again and look at me while you do.”
Your stomach twists, a sudden wave of bashfulness crashing into you. “Hyuck…”
His grin grows wider, a hint of amusement present. “Come on, baby. I won’t ask you again.”
Your face is a deathly shade of red now and the tips of your ears are burning. “I like you.”
Despite the fact that you are experiencing such a nerve wracking ordeal, the half-naked boy before you laughs. He’s delighted. “Say it again.” At your pout he giggles. “Please?”
“I like you. I like you. I like you. I like you, Lee Donghyuck.” You furrow your brows. “Happy now?”
Donghyuck has to stop himself from kissing you right there and then. “Very.”
“Now say it back.”
Instead, he satisfies his urge by pecking your forehead. “I like you too.”
“What the fuck are you guys doing?”
Both you and Donghyuck’s gazes immediately snap towards the door where a disgruntled Mark is leaning against the frame. Mark’s usually all bright smiles but right now, he looks disgruntled. He’s probably crazy hungover.
“I’ve only brought you in here half-an-hour ago Hyuck, and you can’t even keep it in your pants for that long?”
Donghyuck tilts his head in obvious befuddlement. “What do you mean half-an-hour ago?”
Mark scoffs. “I carried you in here? Half-an-hour ago? Because you were passed out on the floor? And I’m a super nice best friend?”
“So, I’ve only been in here for half-an-hour?”
Mark groans. “Are you still drunk? Yeah, I just said.”
“But why are we half-naked?
“You don’t remember?” Mark runs a hair through his disheveled hair, pushing his wire-framed glasses up his nose. “While we were cleaning up, you spilled a drink on yourself and puked on her, dude. Man, you must’ve been really drunk.”
“So then me and—”
“Anyway, can you guys keep it down? I’m trying to facetime my girlfriend.”
Donghyuck snorts. “Looking like that? You look like shit.”
Mark scowls. “Fuck off, asshole. I should’ve just left you on the floor, prick.”
As he storms away, Mark mutters a string of curses under his breath. You and Donghyuck sit in silence again, letting all that information which was unceremoniously relayed to you sink in.
“So, we didn’t fuck?”
“I guess not.”
Hyuck smiles slyly. “You want to right now?”
You reply by whacking him square in the face with a pillow as his laughter rings in your ears and Mark yells at you two to shut up.

15th Day Sojourn
“Nanami!?” You opened the curtains of her room, your face screwed in anger as she groaned curling into her bed, “What the hell!? You have one day left on your visa and you got hammered!? And what?” You waved at her as she pulled the blanket up upon realization she wasn’t dressed. At all, “Decided to get railed while you’re at it!?”
She groaned as she collapsed back against the bed, “Sorry I don’t have a death wish like you do,” She sneered making your lips part as you scoffed at her words. Death wish!? You understood, going out when it wasn’t required wasn’t something most chose to do. But you had a good dynamic going with Ryu, Hiroko and Akari. You all made a good group together, and it wasn’t every night!
It was just a few times a week! It had been a little over, two? Three weeks at most now? That you had been at the beach? Life was about as good as it could be given the circumstances of your living space. But you made it work.
Truthfully, you weren’t sure what direction your relationship with Nanami was headed, you understood you saw one another less but...It was like this before you had arrived at the Borderlands, what had changed? You felt confused and a bit lost, Nanami had only gotten more and more annoyed recently well...anytime you spoke to her truthfully.
You glared down at the empty bottles, obviously the Beach was the problem here. It was a gateway to all kinds if bad habits that Nanami had clearly taken up. You hardly saw her anymore because she was either too busy partying with her new friends or completely wasted, “This…! Nanami! This isn’t you.” You threw the bottle onto the ground next to her bed as you threw up your hands, “At all! You’d never be this tardy on the day you prep for a game!”
Nanami groaned loudly as she got out of bed, holding the sheet up as she grabbed her clothes, looking irritated at your presence as she growled, “Since when do you care about my games!?” She fumbled as she got dressed as best she could, “All you ever do is try and throw your life away! You never even tell me when you’re going out! One of these days you’re gonna go out and it’ll be the last time I ever see you! Do you realize how stressful that is!?”
Pulling up her bikini top she immediately shoved the door of the room open as your lips parted quickly chasing after her, “You don’t think I try to tell you!?” You shouted back, people immediately making way through the hallway as your brows pinched, “You were too busy getting fucked against a wall when I tried to tell you last week! What the fuck! This is not completely my fault! I could be better about it sure but you…!”
Nanami paused at the end of the steps, now in the lobby as she turned to face you, “But me!? There’s nothing about me! You are so fucking suffocating! I’m not a child Y/n!” An indiginant hurt panged through your chest at her words.
Hopping off the last step you followed after her as your fists curled, “I wouldn’t if you stopped acting like one!” You shouted back, anger coursing through your veins at her accusations, what was with her behavior!? You’d lay back if it meant she’d stop this...these destructive habits!
If she wanted to drink that was fine, if she wanted to sleep with someone it was whatever, she was an adult but this was way too excessive! “All I see is someone trying to prove she's an adult when all she is, is trying way too hard to be someone she isn’t!”
You didn’t care how half the people in the lobby looked awkward and somehow a lot of people were quickly finding the exit. Nanani gasped as she turned around, you could almost see the steam coming out of her ears as her fists curled, “You…! You have no idea who I even am!” She snarled back, “Other than looking at me like a baby! You’ve always been too busy with your friends or school or work and half the time you lied! Why is it I got to hear from somebody other then you that you fucked people for a living. That you were a whore for money!”
You immediately looked away from her as you crossed your arms defensively, hurt beginning to throb in your chest at her words, feeling somewhat caught off guard at that being brought up. You weren’t embarrassed, ashamed? Maybe a little despite your mind telling you that you shouldn’t be.
“Y/n you are NOT mom, you will never be mom. Ever since she died you’ve felt the need to be some fucking savior for me and you don’t! You have no idea what I need. So push off and stop acting like you do!” Nanami snapped, her eyes burning with an anger that looked a lot like hate.
That...You wouldn’t deny that stung. You could hear footsteps quickly walking away as you looked at your feet, your eyes stinging and your vision blurring as your lips quivering and your expression contorted somewhat painfully in an attempt to try to not let the sting of pain burn too deep.
She was just angry, you told yourself in an attempt to lick the wounds that were already in your heart to begin with. It was like being reopened and salt being doused onto it.
You only felt more angry as you furiously rubbed away the warm trail of liquid on your cheeks, irritation blossoming in your chest at the feeling of eyes on you as you hissed, “You can stop staring!” Turning to face the white hood that had been leaned against the wall, previously on his phone but much like everyone else it was hard for Chishiya to not stare at the drama unfolding five feet away.
“Well,” Chishiya clacked his tongue, a semi amused expression his face as he spoke, “What did I tell you?” He quickly shut his mouth at the glare you sent him, wiping your cheek once more, your lips pathetically quivering, he probably thought that and hey, you’d admit it was pretty pathetic.
“I get it you don’t really care about my feelings but I really don’t appreciate the ‘I told you so’ right now,” You waved towards your face as you sniffed wrapping your arms around yourself as you waved a hand at the door, “You know, I never intended to…”
You pressed your tongue into your cheek as you sharply inhaled, “It doesn’t matter,” You sighed looking low, as you rubbed your eyes, “You were right. But I never meant for it to come off like that. Everything I ever did in my life was so that she’d never have to go through what I did.”
There it was again, the bitter tears that threatened to escape your eyes as you stared down at your blurry hands, “To have that kicked back in my face- excuse me for being human, but I feel like the tears are justified.” You looked up at him again as you sniffed, rubbing your eyes again that glossed with wetness.
“And I would never hold that above her or against her. I know she didn’t ask for that, but that’s how much I love her. She is all I have. She would never need to thank me for what I’ve done. I’d do it again no questions asked. But that? That was uncalled for.” You wrapped your arms around yourself, trying to not let yourself get anymore upset then you already were.
“Well, you can’t control how she reacts, obviously.” Chishiya shrugged, having been, maybe a little too used to your random bursts of emotions as he spoke in a sing-song voice, “But the more power you give her the more it’ll make you upset. You should really just drop it.”
You puffed a breath as you rubbed your eyes, “I can’t stand you some days.” Your lips quivered into a pout making Chishiya scoff, probably due to how pathetic you looked.
“Because I’m right?” He spoke as he stepped off the wall, pushing his hands into the pockets of his jacket as he raised his brows. You didn’t reply to him as you crossed your arms. Things between you both had been...interesting to say the least.
You by no means considered yourself close friends but...ever since the three of hearts games, you could only assume, that you both had come to a certain understanding of one another. Most days you had never even meant to talk to him. You just always happened to be in the same place at the same time.
Finally you rolled your eyes, feeling a little more composed as you huffed, “There's no debating with you about whether or not you’re right.” You glanced up at him and it was his turn to stay silent before a cocky smirk curved on his lips making you throw your head back with a sigh to try to cover the urge to laugh, yes that was a very familiar sight, “Your ego is gonna get you killed one day.”
You turned to start walking as Chishiya replied, “Maybe, if someone actually takes the bluff. But I don’t think anyone will.” You clacked your tongue, shaking your head as you said nothing in return. In some ways, you even believed him.
If there was anything you had learned about Chishiya it was that he truly was an insane combination of cold and calculating, mixed with a sense of naiveness that others falsely perceived him as, with a dash of, menacing playfulness? But just enough chaos mixed to keep anyone from truly figuring him out.
Still to this day it was difficult to read him. But in some ways, you really enjoyed it. And some parts of you, deep down, did enjoy his company. He always had some dry or witty remark to make, no matter how unpleasant he could be at times.
“Are we still on for tonight?” You looked up at him, a small smile on your face as you both exited to the pool yard where music was blasting and it was permanently summertime, who would’ve thought you were in the Borderlands here, honestly.
Chishiya raised a brow as he spoke, “I’d assume, unless you’re gonna be useless and sulk the whole time.” You rolled your eyes at him, an amused snort escaping you.
“No…! But,” You paused making him pause, “Ah, who knows maybe I’ll just get hit by a car and I won’t have to deal with that anymore.” You waved towards Nanami with her friends as you snickered, making Chishiya roll his eyes at your theatrics, forever the drama queen in his opinion.
“Y/n!” Your gaze shot to where Ryu and Hiroko were laid out in lawn chairs next to the pool where Akari was sitting at the edge. You glanced to Chishiya as you sighed with a shrug, he had attempted to part ways only for Hiroko to glare, “You too sour ass!” Chishiya’s gaze cut into Hiroko who didn’t budge in the slightest at him making you sigh as you rubbed your neck.
Truthfully, you couldn’t help but wonder if Chishiya actually made the effort in talking to anyone outside of you. And that could be argued that you generally initiated conversation. Had it not been for you, you doubt Hiroko would be able to stand Chishiya at all.
“What’s up?” You asked as you both stood in front of their chairs, Hiroko crossed her legs, a margarita in hand despite it being lunch time at best but hey, you couldn’t exactly blame her given the state of where you all lived.
Her expression crumpled a little as she looked between you and Nanami who was on the other side of the pool, “You two good? We ah...heard some yelling?” She raised a brow making you huff as you crossed your arms, looking away from them, “Okay…” Hiroko clacked her tongue, “Well we’re getting ready to go out to get some supplies, food stock is getting low in the back and we needed some help.”
Chishiya’s expression twisted just by a hair making Hiroko’s eyes sharpen on him as he looked away giving a very loud sigh as if inconvenience by this, “Is there an option to decline?”
“No.”
“We’d be happy to help.” You glanced at Chishiya briefly before given a smile to Hiroko and Ryu, “I’ve never done a supply run before so you’ll have to show me the ropes though.” Truth be told you kept yourself fairly busy. You often enjoyed exploring in your off time, and while sitting at the pool was nice, it got fairly boring by yourself day in and out.
So you went out to the parks you knew, you’d go to the ocean front when possible, you had even taken up the hobby of going on a jog each morning. Anything to remind you that you were alive. Contrary to how some perceived it, you felt almost numb in a way to your life being put on the line. To be put into extremely perilous situations, it had taken a toll on your mental health.
Even if you couldn’t recognize it at the moment, and so you had tried your best to pick up hobbies to keep you occupied and away from the addictive sensation of Games. So you often took walks now and explored around the city in your free time.
“It’s easy!” Hiroko stood up as she smiled brightly at your enthusiasm compared to the sour grey cloud that crossed his arms while rolling his eyes, “We have a masterlist written out of what we need to get, you’re free to pick up anything you’d like while we’re out!”
“Anything…?” You tilted your head before a smile tugged on your lips, “Alright! Lemme just go get something to change into on our way out!” Everyone thought you were either vain or insecure but truthfully, you just really hated the swimwear rule.
The moment you stepped off beach property was the moment you were wearing sweatpants and something comfortable. After you had gotten changed the four of you set off as you looked down the long list, mainly canned goods were needed, some dry goods as well and…”Are these farm locations?”
“Mhm, we can get a lot of fresh produce from there! It took awhile of searching but it’s a pretty good spot! We’ll get that on our way back though!” Ryu answered chipperly as he leaned back in his seat up front looking the exact opposite Chishiya who was slouched in his seat looking bored.
You actually quite enjoyed the ride, they used the CD player in the car to play music and briefly, you were taken back to a time in life when things weren’t so intense. It’s hard to believe you ever had a problem in your old life before you came to the Borderlands, everything in comparison now seems so...Childish, in a way, your problems weren’t as bad as you ever thought.
After helping gather canned goods and whatever snacks were on the list you had made your way through the store, stray shopping carts were abandoned and remnants of life still remained, not a lot, but just enough for it to feel eery, it really did make you wonder what happened to everyone.
“There’s a cart right there, you’re gonna break the ones you already have if you keep that up.” You snapped your head to glare at Chishiya as you fumbled with the canvases you were holding, “You know that used to be someone's cart right!” You rolled your eyes as you set them down in the empty cart that had been rolled towards the notebook section.
“And now it’s yours. You’re so emotional.” He sighed in exasperation, his eyes sharply looking down at all the paint material before he snorted as if amused by something making your brows furrow in suspicion.
“I’m not! It’s just having human decency, you know people used to live in this place before whatever happened,” You crossed your arms, tutting as you kneeled down, grabbing a jar of paint in each color, “Although I won’t lie, the cost of living has effectively gone down since then.”
You briefly looked at the expensive price tag that was placed under the paints before placing them into the cart carefully as you twisted back around, rolling the cart towards the brushes.
“Just at the cost of living now,” Chishiya puffed as he crossed his arms, “Shouldn’t you be buying psychology books or something more useful?”  His gaze narrowed as you looked over your shoulder at him, now annoyed at his presence that was endlessly judging your every move.
“Shouldn’t you be helping Hiroko find the chip aisle?” Chishiya’s gaze turned cold making you snort, a smile of amusement dancing on your lips as you plucked the first brush from it’s container, “Okay...I guess not. You two really don’t like each other huh.”
“She’s an idiot that thinks she’s smarter than she is,” Chishiya replied, that loose cold tone of his as always making you roll your eyes, “I’d rather be here then in her insufferable presence.” a bit harsh but this was Chishiya, he often rolled between seemingly innocent and scheming to downright cold hearted at times.
“I’m flattered that you’re so interested in my hobbies then!” You replied with a fake peppiness as you swirled around to face him, dumping a pile of brushes into the cart, “Also, just because I’m a psych major doesn’t mean my whole life revolves around it. It’s like saying just because your a med student all you know is how to OD someone and that’s all you do.”
Chishiya clacked his tongue as he raised his brows while shrugging making your expression crumple as you huffed, crossing your arms, “Have you killed someone before coming here? Seriously? I would NOT want you to be my doctor.”
This made somewhat of an amused smirk quirk on his lips as he looked down at you, “I haven’t, but I supposed if it made you feel better I can say I have.” You rapidly blinked, staring at him as if he was insane, “How is that supposed to make me feel better? That just makes me even more uneasy, you could be lying through your teeth and I’d never be able to tell.”
You flailed your arms as you rolled the cart out of the aisle, Chishiya following behind making no effort to show he was in a hurry as he snorted, “For a psychology major I guess I just thought you’d be better at reading people. Guess you’re dumber than you look huh.”
“Do you have some kind of god complex with being smart?” You turned to face him as your expression contorted, “Because yes! I fully admit I’m an idiot, that's not an insult to me. My power is not in my brain but my heart, unfortunately.” You pointed at your heart before wincing a little, truthfully it wasn’t always what it was cracked up to be, “You know what- What’s with that anyways?” You furrowed your brows as you leaned your arms against the handle of the cart, “You really value intellect that much?”
You had noticed that pattern in Chishiya’s speech, an insult he regularly used was among demeaning to someone's intelligence, but not in the childish way it was often used, he meant it literally. As if nothing could be more embarrassing to someone then being dumb, to which you didn’t understand or hold any value too. He was proof that intelligent people were not always the most kind hearted.
Chishiya stared at you for a long minute, his expression unchanging as you shrugged pushing the cart as you peered down the next aisle, “I view life as a game I intend to win,” He relented making you pause as you looked back at him, your head titled, his smile looked viscous as he spoke, “And anyone who doesn’t have any wit to play is destined to lose. And I will win, because nobody is smart enough to beat me.”
You puffed a breath as you raised your brows with a breathy chuckle, “You sound like you need a good group therapy session, is all I hear when you speak. But hey, I guess you’re doing great now considering our lives are being turned into literal games now. I guess every mentality pays off in it’s own way.”
You picked up the pack of prism colored pencils from the end cap as you flipped them to look at the back of the package, “And all I hear is a defeatist mentality from you.” You peered up at Chishiya with an amused expression at his words as you shook your head, all he did was talk but never made any point, was he trying to figure you out in the elusive way possible?
“I’m not a defeatist, I’m just not as ruthless as you, in the way I view life that is. Why? Are you curious about my take on the world?” You teased a little, knowing this would immediately disengage him and just as you thought you watched him puff a breath, his arms crossing and his gaze becoming narrow.
“Why would I have any interest in someone who openly admits to being an idiot?” Chishiya replied, that irritated cat-like expression on his face  and that annoying sing-song tone of his, you sighed, rolling your eyes, having learned to not take his cold words so seriously anymore, “If anything, the more you speak, the more confirmation I have that you’re right, you’re a total moron that has no clue what she’s ever talking about.”
Your face scrunched a little as you placed the pack of pencils in the cart before turning to face him, “Then why are you still talking to me?” You asked, raising your hands a little, and when he didn’t reply you smiled, “I mean really, if I’m so obnoxiously stupid, to the point of even admitting it, Wouldn’t it make sense that you’d just ignore me?”
Chishiya sighed as he glanced up at the ceiling, “Because you’re the most tolerable out of everyone here. But even you just open your mouth and shit flies out, I thought maybe with you being in an intellectual major you’d be more prophetic than you are?”
He stopped in a look of mild confusion at why you were giggling so much at his words, you had to cover your mouth as you raised your brows in delight, “Awwh! I didn’t realize you thought of me like that! I would’ve tried harder to psychoanalyze you more if that was the case!”
You laughed as you pushed your hair back leaning against the cart as you shook your head in amusement, “No but seriously, I think you’re getting psychology and philosophy mixed up here. I still only have one functioning braincell, sorry to disappoint.” Your nose scrunched as you smiled before pushing the cart into the next aisle.
“To answer your original question, since wifi isn’t a thing and the internet virtually doesn’t exist anymore I’m trying to find new hobbies to keep me out of games from boredom.” Admittedly, it wasn’t that, you’d say you were addicted to the feeling of putting your life on the line. You hadn’t been in the Borderlands that long.
But something about the adrenaline and the peril need to solve something, it kept your mind active and buzzing for a good few days, even after clearing a game. You already had over two weeks on your visa so there wasn’t really a need to go out and do something as reckless as playing a game.
Truthfully, you were very grateful you had run into Hiroko and Ryu in your first game, and admittedly also Chishiya who had found the Beach in the matter of hours after being told. Because of them, you weren’t nearly as fearful as you could have been, even now.
Being with your friends who were more experienced, it gave you confidence that you’d all solve everything and things would turn out okay. And maybe to some degree that mentality was dangerous.
More than anything, you knew you needed to become desensitized to the games and the cruel reality of the Borderlands if you wanted to last long. That was the real reason you had been pushing yourself to clear games every few nights. You weren’t addicted to the sensation, you just needed to push yourself into an indifferent state of mind.
It wasn’t healthy, you above anyone else knew that, but you knew it was necessary for your mind to adapt to survive.
“What about you med boy? Don’t you have any hobbies outside of fucking with people and making kids cry?” Your lips curled into a smile as you looked over your shoulder, watching Chishiya clack his tongue, rolling his eyes as you snorted.
“What makes you think I talk to children?” You raised your hands in surrender, “Fair enough,” You glanced at him, the silence loud for just a brief moment before you tried to fight the smile on your face as you pressed your tongue into your cheek as he continued, “I’m like anyone else, I can go for a good game of mahjong, chess and on occasion I enjoy building an taser gun-”
You paused as you whirled around, “A what gun?” Your brows crinkled together in confusion at how his sentence jumped from zero to one hundred as quick as it did.
Chishiya made a noise that sounded something between a scoff and snort at your contorted expression, his hands in his pockets as he leaned against the shelf, “I was in robotics as a kid and straight A’s in science and chemistry. I build things.”
“Like...weapons?” You rubbed your head as you frowned, looking away from him as you let out a somewhat wry laugh, “Jeez, so you’re basically saying you’ve always been this intense even before the Borderlands huh.” You puffed a breath as you puckered your lips, suddenly a childish smile on your face, “Wait! So in theory…! Could you...build like a- a slingshot?”
“What are you a child?”
“Well...what about...a bing-bag gun?”
“Already did that in grade school.”
“Stun gun?”
“Vague description but yes I’ve built things similar in function.”
Your lips twisted into a pout as you let your chin rest on the handlebar of the cart, “...Flamethrower?”
Chishiya’s eyes squinted a little as you smiled in victory before he sighed, “No but that’s theoretically the easiest to build.” You crossed your arms, he was just giving excuses now!
“How? How could a flame thrower be easy to build!?” You threw up your arms now annoyed at his confidence.
“Ah, any flammable spray can and lighter, next question?” He quirked a brow, now looking semi amused at your expression as you huffed, now out of ideas, to be fair, just how many weapons could be built from scratch anyways? Impressive sure, but before the Borderlands, just how useful was it anyways? Let alone legal?
“Okay well I’m out of things to ask,” You clacked your tongue, looking away from him briefly before smiling, “Oh…! It’s probably a bad idea but we should go find a spray can, then, I’ve never tried that before!”
What’s the worst that could happen anyways?
Tumblr media
“You...burned the store down…?” Akari rubbed her head in disbelief as you pouted, Hiroko having thoroughly chewed your ass out on how irresponsible you were as you sat in the pool chair, your hands on your face and your cheeks puffed.
“How was I supposed to know the flames traveled up to seven feet! It’s Chishiya’s fault, he should’ve at least given me a fair warning!” You threw up your hands as you accused the unbothered blonde.
“I tried, didn’t I?” Chishiya laid out in his chair next to you, a pair of black aviators covering his eyes and this had to be the first time you had seen him without his jacket on, his hair shockingly tied up into a bun and away from his face aside the two strands hanging down as always.
“But like always you wouldn’t shut up and stop to listen. So I thought experience would be the best teacher,” Chishiya shrugged casually, a smug expression on his face as he spoke, “Fortunately for me that’s the last time Hiroko ever asks us to go out with them again. It's a win-win if you look at it like that.”
You whined as you bounced in your seat, leaning back as you sighed, “Hiroko was so pissed off she said she didn’t wanna see me the rest of the day. She really could be a mom.”
“Awh’ does that mean you ain’t coming tonight for the game?” Akari flicked her hat up a little as she raised a brow making you slump with a sigh, you were sure you could go, Hiroko wouldn’t actually stick to her word but...You admittedly felt kinda bad, you just wanted to kill a little time while Ryu and Hiroko finished up.
“I’ll probably sit tonight out, it’s not like I need to clear a game anyways, my visa has nearly two weeks on it and I don’t wanna do a game by myself.” You crossed your arms with a sulk, you didn’t feel confident enough in yourself to attempt a game without anybody else, and if you died nobody would ever know.
Akari whistled as she pressed the beer bottle to her lips, “That sucks,” She took a long chug as your nose wrinkled a little, “But hey! Maybe you could talk to Nanami, she’s been pretty sour the whole morning. I tried talkin’ to her earlier but she was pretty snippy.”
You curved a brow in curiosity, sure Nanami had been mad at you but Akari? They were probably closer friends then you and Akari were any day of the week, “Why?” You rubbed your head, maybe she was just in a mood altogether today.
Akari’s face twisted as she snorted, “Because of you.”
Your head collapsed against the chair as you inhaled sharply, “If she’s still mad about this morning then I’m gonna need a drink before I even try to talk to her. Do you know what’s going on with her? Because I’m extremely lost as to what her problem is.”
Akari placed a hand on her hip as she sighed in exasperation, “I dunno’ other than maybe that group of friends she’s with. They’re all pretty bad apples in my humble opinion, ever since she started hanging out with them she's been pretty moody.”
You placed a hand on your forehead as you sighed, “Right, of course, it’s always the friends,” You collapsed back into your chair as you stretched out, “Listen, don’t get me wrong,” you placed a hand in front of you to block out the sun as you looked up at Akari, “I love Nanami, and I want to work things out with her. I do, but right now?”
You clacked your tongue in semi disappointment, “Me trying to talk to her is only going to make her push me away even more and make even dumber choices. If she needs to go through this, then she’s gonna have to go through it. I’ll be here for her regardless.”
You had known your sister long enough to know that anytime she acted like this, you trying to talk to her would only push her further away and that’s not what you wanted to do. The only difference was you had never seen her go so...extreme before…
And the last thing you wanted was for Nanami to go off the deep end because of you and possibly...you shuddered at the idea, the possibilities were endless here in the Borderlands where there were no laws for people to abide by.
Akari sighed as she took her hat off, fanning it over her face as she rubbed her head, “Hey, it’s not my place to tell ya what to do with your sister, all I’m saying is it may be beneficial to at least try.” She shrugged as she walked away making you groan.
You could try again but you had a feeling it wouldn’t get you anywhere with her. It felt odd to think about, because one part of you felt like you had nothing but time now except for the constant loom of imminent death. You wouldn’t deny the fear that constantly set inside you at the idea of Nanami going into a game and never coming back.
But what could you really do? Outside irritate her and push her to continue doing harmful things? You supposed, in some ways, you were a hypocrite, you were putting your life on the line for nothing other than out of wanting to break the cycle, to remember truly what it means to live, without it even being necessary. You wouldn’t blame her for being angry at you for that.
“Hmm, I didn’t realize you actually let people dictate what you do in your free time, you’re a pretty big push over.” You slowly twisted in your seat to glare at Chishiya’s lounged out figure looking like a cat in the sun as he spoke in a sing-song tone.
“...Do you ever shut up?”
“Not particularly.”
You clacked your tongue, huffing as you collapsed back in your chair, “Well what? You wanna do a game together? I just…” You held up your hands, looking at them as you scrunched your nose, “Feel like if I went with you, there’s a good chance you’d probably use me as bait or something and I’d end up getting killed.”
“Wasn’t that your goal this morning?” Chishiya lifted his aviators as he turned to look at you from his laid out position, you squinted a little, crossing your arms once more as you leaned back in your seat.
“Well- yeah…” You fumbled before squinting even harder at Chishiya’s expression, “But now that you said it like that I have to not die out of pure spite, you didn’t answer my question by the way. I doubt you wanted to do a game with Hiroko anyways.” You rolled your eyes, still not understanding why Chishiya had such a distaste for her.
Sure she was a little accusative and Hiroko obviously didn’t trust him, but could Chishiya, genuinely say that wasn’t for good reason? You had figured out that this man, if anything, was self aware of how he came across from an outside perspective. That was the part that baffled you, how could he blame someone for distrusting him?
Even you distrusted Chishiya to a certain extent, and you had no problems letting him casually know such as now. Truly, you couldn’t rule out the possible idea of being used as bait in a game by him and not even realizing it.
Honestly, given the environment you lived in, you could at least appreciate that he kept you on your toes. And you supposed that was the difference between you and Hiroko, she wanted to trust all of her friends. You weren’t so caught up in that.
Because really, even in the outside world, before the Borderlands, friends could hardly be trusted fully. And those he believed in such, were always disappointed, friends lied, gossiped, went behind your back, slept with previous boyfriends. You hardly trusted anyone fully, in that sense, it wasn’t hard for you to just let go of some of Chishiya’s less then morally good behavior
Chishiya only waved a hand, “If you think we’ll find someone more interesting than your dry friends.”
“My dry friends,” You raised a brow as you twisted to look at his unbothered figure, “Act like you’re unassociated all you want but that doesn’t make you not part of the group. You are so weird. Anyways yeah sure, they just got word today that a new venue opened up at the bridge, we could go there.”
“You’re still a pushover.”
“What the fuck.” You replied deadpan as you stared him down, watching in annoyance at his sunglasses being put back on as he leaned back in his chair but the unmistakable cheshire smirk on his face as you rolled your eyes, “You're just asking to be torn apart.”
“So then why don’t you do it?” Chishiya challenged you casually, evening daring to lift his drink as he took a long sip before speaking up once more, “All you do is threaten people. How am I supposed to take you serious when you never follow through?”
“Last time I did it I made a man commit suicide.” You replied dryly, something in your tone lingering as you glanced out over the pool where everyone just pretended like they didn’t see people slaughtered night after night.
Escapism, was a very raw and primal way of coping with a shitty reality, you understood the concept well enough before the Borderlands, but ever since coming here, it became more and more apparent to you just how common it really was. What were you supposed to do with blood staining your hands.
Red caught your attention briefly as your eyes flickered to your hands that were clean as always. Staring down at them in wonder you couldn’t help but think, that some parts of you would never be the same after this. No amount of therapy or inner healing would bring you back to a time in your life where you hadn’t witnessed the atrocities you had.
Some parts of you, were amazing at blocking out the Borderlands, taking the days you were alive for granted until the moment your heart was pounding and scared for your life, it was an addictive type of feeling in the most terrifying way.
“It was hardly suicide,” Chishiya snorted, not at all perturbed like you were, you looked at him, staring into his figure that drew his attention as he raised a brow, looking unbothered, “You don’t feel the same? All human life is parasitic and is temporary, he would’ve died here anyways, it’s like you said, it doesn’t take much to break the weak link.”
You smacked your lips together as you sighed, some parts of you not surprised at how much of a nihilist Chishiya was, “It doesn’t matter whether his life was baseless and humans are parasitic,” You looked away from him again as you muttered, “It doesn’t change the fact I was the one who manipulated someone into killing themselves.”
Staring down at your hands they trembled only if you looked close enough, briefly you could remember a broken bottle in your hands, sticky wet substance covering them and- “Doesn’t change the fact he would’ve died. It was us or him.” Chishiya shrugged, that snarky yet innocent look on his face as he spoke, “Maybe it’s you who needs therapy.”
“Probably.” Your eyes traced down your fingers before sighing, running a hand through your hair, “If you’re gonna be a nihilist then I’ll see myself to the bar.” Chishiya waved a hand unbothered as you got up from your seat.
If you ever escaped the Borderlands you were absolutely going to be the one at the sitting end of a therapy office instead of the listening side.
----
“You’re a horrible driver.” Your nose was scrunched and you had a death grip on the side of the door of the car, you’d think for someone who was so analytical they’d be more careful. Chishiya? No, he was aggressive with sharp turns and fast pace making you hold on for dear life.
“I never got a license.” Chishiya replied in a sing song tune that you were beginning to find extremely annoying, that stupid smirk on his face as you opened the door the car, stepping out as you grabbed your neck.
“You know,” You turned to face him now standing just before the bridge, “If I’m gonna die here-” Chishiya sighed exasperated as you held up a hand, “What is your fascination with wanting to die?-”  “No listen- I’m not saying I will but if,” You stressed the word, “If I die here, I really don’t want it to be from your shitty subpar driving skills.”
Chishiya snorted, rolling his eyes as you both stepped past the platform to which you had been informed awhile ago that there really was no turning back from games, you had...subconsciously assumed that, never having even thought it would be possible to go back from a game, but it was just another stressful reality you’d have to navigate.
You notice three other people who stood around all looking unsure of each other and you both included. You weren’t sure what type of game would be held on the bridge, there were plenty of cars still and you couldn’t help but wonder.
“What if there’s only one survivor to this game? Is that a thing?” You leaned a little towards Chishiya who had stuffed his hands into his pocket, his eyes flickering to you as he raised a brow.
“Does your brain only function on one memory at a time?” Your expression twisted somewhat indignant making an amused half smile curl on Chishiya’s face causing your childish anger to further as you crossed your arms, “Yes they exist, and for that matter I’ll just let you die since you’re so determined to let it happen prematurely-” “It will with the way you drive.” “Stop being so dramatic.”
You puffed a breath as you shifted your weight, “No seriously, what if only one persons survives?” You asked, you hadn’t really thought about it truthfully, you had done games where it was possible but you supposed you had just been lucky, most games if not close to all, many could survive. Was that something you should be worried about. Chishiya only shrugged, not having an answer as you hummed.
It was only six o’clock and the sun was beginning to set, was anyone else going to, “Oh jeez, this doesn’t look promising.” You turned to where someone stood having just arrived. Oh...oh wow, this woman was tall and attractive. It looked like a cigarette was hanging from her lips and she sported nothing but jeans and a bikini top.
Your gaze flickered ahead where you frowned, “I really hate games with props.” You muttered, looking at the anklets that could be doubled as probation bands, seriously? Attaching it to your ankle you inspected that metal loop that dangled from the back, “Do you think they’ll blow our legs off if we move too fast?”
“Doubt it,” The woman spoke up cut in between you both as she grabbed on, inspecting it as she scoffed, “Especially given what we’re doin’. Looks like we’re gonna get real cozy now.”
You looked at the laptop that sat out as you tilted your head.
Game:
Difficulty: 5♠
“The game you will be participating in is, Seek and Destroy”
“That sounds...not fun.” Your nose wrinkled, it was a clubs game, meaning at least you could all work as a team to finish the objection, but...Seek and destroy? You briefly glanced at Chishiya but he remained expressionless, his full undivided attention on the screen.
“In this game there are cars sectioned across the bridge and within five cars, bombs have been planted. One bomb will be activated at a time, you will have five minutes to find it and disarm it. Should you be in the vicinity of the car bomb by the time it goes off you have two choices, Game Over or Test Life.” Your brows furrowed as you listened carefully, “Cables are attached to the bridge, should you be near one you may attach your anklet to it and choose to jump off the bridge to safety.”
“There are five car bombs all total, once the first bomb had been deactivated, the next will start. If you disarm all five, it’s a Game Clear, if you fail to disarm all five, it’s a Game Over.”
Rules
All players must remain on the bridge unless they choose to Test Life
You will have five minutes to plan your course of action, after the siren, the first bomb will be set
If all five bombs aren’t disarmed it’s a Game Over, the only exemption from this rule is if a Life Test is passed in trade.
If someone Tests Life and succeeds, they will make their way back to the bridge and return here as proof of success or it’s an automatic Game Over for them.
“Ha...ha! This should be easy!” A woman spoke up as she grabbed her head, “Guys! If we just chose to test life, we can all escape down, not break any rules and clear the game!” You heard a few others excitedly agree with her but you felt...unsure…
You glanced at Chishiya who remained stoic, the only other person who seemed to also not be sold was the woman next to you, who practically towered over you and looking up you only just realized her cigarette was fake, “You into women or something?” She winked causing you fumble a little as you stepped away, “I don’t judge.”
“I’m into not dying,” You replied as you looked at the laptop, the countdown having already started, Chishiya only shrugged as he spoke up, “Could’ve fooled me.” You rolled your eyes at him, he seemed curious as he followed the other three.
“It’s simple, I’ll just attach this and! Just look for some others!” She excitedly clipped the bungee cord to the metal hoop before she stood up on the ledge, lifting her arms as she breathed in a deep breath, “I’ll see you guys on the way down!”
Your eyes were wide at her blind faith as she fell down, Chishiya peered down as everyone watched in baited breath, “It’s dumb to assume things would be that easy on a Spades game which is based around physical exertion, true bungee jumping matches the energy, but that would be too easy.” Chishiya spoke, shrugging as you glanced at him briefly before back at the woman who had finally hit the bottom of her cord, you had expected her to bounce but you gasped a little as she jerked before you could only assume her anklet broke and she smashed straight into the water.
She...she had to die from the impact with nothing to break the fall from here to there, “Just as I expected,” He sighed in exasperation, everyone turned to Chishiya who appeared only semi annoyed, “Anyone who believed a game value of five would be that easy is truly an idiot,” He offered a snide smile, “Just as I thought, Test Life is meant literally and meant to be a last resort, either you die by a car bomb or you take a chance with a possible faulty cord or band. The only way we clear a game without disarming all five bombs is if one goes off and someone chooses to test life and doesn’t die, it’s not only risky but stupid to rely on.”
“Talk about cold,” The woman beside you spoke up, making Chishiya shrug loosely, “You couldn’t have said that five seconds sooner and we’d have a sixth player?” Her lip lifted a little in annoyance at Chishiya’s callous nature.
Chishiya offered a cold smile, “A hypothesis without any evidence is just an assumption.”
The woman had no words, probably taken aback at just how cold Chishiya was, you leaned in a little as you whispered, “You get used to it. Y/n,” You introduced yourself briefly with a weak smile, admittedly you had just accepted and gotten used to Chishiya’s nihilistic views.
“Harsh,” She snorted, “Kuina. You two seem acquainted.”
Your lips fell back into a grimace as you briefly looked at Chishiya who raised a brow at you, “Somehow...” You shook your head, truthfully, no matter how hard you tried to get away from this man, you always seemed to end up talking to him, or in situations like this with him, “So what’s the plan Spock?” You shrugged as you looked at Chishiya, half your time of planning already over.
Chishiya didn’t reply at first and admittedly you wouldn’t consider him the embodiment of a leader, but you did think if anyone had a good calculation and strategy to go through this without messing up, it was him, “The rules stated nothing about having to disarm them in sequence, only that after the first was disarmed, a second would start and so forth.”
You frowned at his words making him sigh in exasperation as he looked away from you, “Which means if we broke into pairs we can just search all the cars and disarm them all within a reasonable amount of time and least amount of panic. You know,” Chishiya sneered, “They’re being quite charitable for a 5.”
“Okay great,” You sneered back in unappreciation giving back the same energy you were annoyed at being given at the moment, sure, you were dumb, you could admit it, and you had a feeling it really grated on Chishiya’s nerves that you in fact, did not consider it an insult in the least. You worked in the realms of irrationality of human nature, not the laws of logic like him.
In some ways, you considered yourself a polar opposite of him sometimes, “I’m glad this is easy for you. Just tell us what we need to do, jerk.”
Chishiya rolled his eyes at your expression, not surprised in the least at your attitude which he, just as always, ignored it, “There’s six of us- or was…” His lips curled into a menacing smirk, “There’ll be two pairs and one single person, one pair will go towards the back of the bridge and search the cars back to front, a bomb will most likely be placed in the hood of the car if the engines have been taken out or in the trunk. Another pair will search the beginning of the bridge starting from here and work their way towards the middle. Lastly the person by themselves will search the middle which won’t be as hard to go through alone.”
“Alright, then I’ll pair up with the blonde twink, I have a few words to talk to him about.” Kuina shrugged, making Chishiya’s gaze snap over, his expression briefly looking confused for a second at her wording as she offered a sharp smile, “What? Are you intimidated?”
Chishiya’s expression melted back into a cool tone, his gaze briefly looking over to you which you only observed the two, already getting the feeling you and Kuina were going to get along and hey, if you all survived this, you’d totally tell her about the Beach, “Hardly,” Chishiya snorted, “But in case you couldn’t tell I already have a partner.” You raised your brows looking around, wow, he was fast at deciding who would help him the most, “It’s you idiot.”
“Oh,” Your lips parted a little, admittedly feeling a little dumb forgetting, but honestly, who could blame you? You just assumed Chishiya would pair with the person most beneficial to him, after a second your lips curled into a smile as you shrugged, “Oh?” You raised your brows a little making Chishiya’s expression go a little exasperated as your smile turned into a grin, “Oh I don’t mind!” You spoke, smiling at Kuina as you waved her over to him, “Have fun with him, he’s a real blast! I can partner with one of you if you’d like, I’m a go with the flow kinda person.”
“I was a cross country runner! I can go by myself.” A girl, who looked like she was fresh out of highschool spoke as she volunteered herself, leaving you with only one partner, the male who...definitely looked like he could use a shower. He gave you a grimy smile which you weakly returned, “This just leaves us. I’m Daichi, and you m’lady?”
You could hear a strained laughter from two people as you looked over your shoulder, harshly glaring laser beams out of your eyes at Chishiya who had pulled his hood up to try and pretend like he totally wasn’t smiling while stifling his laughter while Kuina was more then openly laughing at your obvious short straw hand here, but hey...You did forfeit your partnership with Chishiya out of spite, this was in some way...deserved.
“Y/n. if everyone is sorted out, let’s take the far end of the bridge, it’s least likely they’d start the first bomb there right?” You looked towards Chishiya who shrugged, “What do we do about the bombs? I don’t exactly have any experience in the reams of demolition work.”
“It’s possible, as for the bombs I doubt they have anything complex. It’s probably made of some akin to a battery pack. Just rip the wiring from the pack and not the bomb.” He replied making you cross your arms, an amused expression on his face as he answered.
“...And if it’s not that simple...?”
“I guess we’ll find out.” He used that sing song tone you groaned at, unhelpful as always as you groaned, “Cheer up Y/n, it keeps things interesting.” What was his deal with things needing to be interesting...
“Well, let’s get going while we still have time,” You nodded to Daichi who nodded eagerly as you both began walking out onto the bridge, cars were scattered all across the bridge and this was admittedly going to take a lot of stamina to do, it was a Spades game, it was expected, but still.
You briefly felt uncomfortable, you could feel Daichi’s stares and he seemed like an okay guy but...Sometimes, more days than you wished, you could just feel a person’s energy and their intentions, Daichi was a perfect example of this. He was easy to read, from the way his eyes kept coping a feel at your body which wasn’t even in anything revealing besides the plain t-shirt you wore and sweatpants as per usual, “So Y/n, what were you before all of this.”
Your eyes briefly glanced at Daichi before ahead again, “I worked as a barista at a coffee shop,” You answered with a neutral expression, not wanting to come across bitchy or too nice.
Men in society, are told from a young age that so long as you’re nice, a good guy, doing the right thing, you’ll always get the girl. It twists the perception of reality for them, suddenly a women being nice is considered flirtation, a date to get to know one another will be rewarded with sex, there’s almost always a goal in mind when it comes to a Nice Guy.
You don’t think Daichi is one of these men, you could tell by the way he fidgeted and he seemed to hesitate and drag his words out a little, he was too insecure to truly feel that type of superiority. But he had that energy of a guy, who felt these things internally and therefore, if provoked, would probably end up saying the exact same things.
“Oh?” Daichi perked up a little, his smile was sincere if not a little awkward as his eyes lingered below your stomach, “Like at a maid cafe?”
“Like at a coffee shop,” You repeated yourself, not being too nice but not too mean, just neutral as you internally sighed, maybe you should’ve stayed partners with Chishiya, you knew he was an ass, but at least he didn’t act like this, or most men for that matter. You could at least appreciate his authenticity even if he was hardly honest, “Uh, let’s just focus on disarming these car bombs.”
You didn’t give Daichi a chance to reply as you heard the siren go off, breaking off into a sprint because you weren’t even halfway across the bridge yet. You needed to be to the end of the bridge within five minutes if the first bomb was there. Though the chances were low, they weren’t zero.
You weren’t someone considered extreme fit but you did walk a lot and it seemed you made a lot better head way then Daichi as he was out of breath and had his hands on his knees as you arrived at the end of the bridge, the first car bomb had to be disarmed by now and it had taken a good few minutes to even get here, “Okay, let’s separate and start looking at cards, hoods first then trunks.”
Daichi nodded, still out of breath as you started on the first car, popping the hood as you searched in before going to the trunk. Leaving it open so you wouldn’t confuse it later on as you had a lot of cars to go through. You hoped Chishiya and Kuina were at the very least, having better luck then you.
“So I’m guessing you two have probably fucked.” Kuina clacked her tongue as she watched you in the distant sprinting off, in her opinion probably running away from that creep, not that she could blame you, it did give her a good laugh.
Chishiya’s gaze remained neutral as he ignored Kuina’s comment. Tch, Chishiya made the exception of tolerating your idiocy purely because, to some degree, he’d admit, you were one of the few people he found interesting, he wasn’t sure he could do that for someone else who he wouldn’t consider as such, especially as self entitled as this woman, “I wouldn’t fuck someone like her. You aren’t good at reading people. Let's start searching and not waste time.”
Kuina raised her hands up, flicking the wooden cigarette in her mouth as she shrugged, “Alright but you can’t fool me with those eyes. It’s clear you two got some chemistry,” She snorted at his lack of reply, “Anyways, what’s your deal?” She asked, furrowing her brows as they both separated, searching through the hoods before popping the trunks, “Bit cold to just let someone die like that.” She called out.
“In case you’re inferior mind couldn’t tell,” Chishiya leaned against the back of the car as he smiled coldly, “We needed hard proof that Test Life was literal and not only this, but if this equipment is even stable. Which it isn’t, obviously.” Chishiya shrugged casually, “And we wouldn’t have known if someone dumb enough didn’t want to try,” He let out a sing song tone as he smiled in that false innocence of his, “I just consider it natural selection in the Borderlands.”
Kuina grimaced a little, talk about borderline inhumane, “Oh look what we have here,” Chishiya looked delighted at the sight of the first bomb, it’s quiet tick ever impending to it’s explosion, Kuina quickly came over as she scratched her head, “So we know we’re supposed to disarm them, but we were never told how...Is it really as simple as you said?” She rolled her eyes.
Chishiya snorted, “This is a basic homemade bomb, and surprise, surprise, it has a battery pack attached, it doesn’t take a genius to know to just pull the wiring and there won’t be any energy to dispense to the denotation.” And just like they, he yanked the wiring from the remote pack and the ticking stopped.
Kuina felt a breath of relief escape her, obviously not confident in his abilities and who could blame her? For as smart as Chishiya was, it was difficult to trust the man, nor would it be wise of anyone.
“Great, glad we got a bomb expert on our side,” Kuina sighed, pushing her hands into her pockets before yelling out, “We got one!” As loud as she could, it echoed off the bridge and she was sure at least the highschooler heard her, “Anyways that’s boring. So you consider it natural selection huh- harsh. What ‘bout her then? Seems like you only wanted to be with her.”
“What about her?” Chishiya, now annoyed, turned to Kuina, who was truthfully, only stirring the pot because she enjoyed getting under people’s skin, this blonde’s in particular, “We entered the game together? I guess?” He raised his brows, that dark, yet low innocent expression on his face as he spoke, “I’d assume it’s natural isn’t it? To stick to what one knows? But instead I’m stuck with you.”
Kuina only offered a menacing smile in return, “In full glory,” She gestured down to herself proudly, “Listen- I’m only stating what I see, that and this is pretty amusing to listen too. It’s not often I get put in a game that isn’t high intensity.” Admittedly, while Kuina would never openly admit to it, Chishiya being here had definitely calmed things down a little, had it not been for his pure cut logic, things would probably be more hectic.
“I got one!” Kuina looked up at the sound of the highschool girl screaming out, echoing distantly as Kuina curled her fists in victory, “Alright, just three to go, we’ll be done in no time.” Chishiya only looked over his shoulder, saying nothing as he continued searching through cars, “For someone so smart, you sure don’t look victorious.”
“It’s foolish to assume victory during a battle,” Chishiya spoke, “At least that’s something Sun Tzu would’ve said, we only have two done in a field of cars. They were forgiving with the obvious rules but not so much in the size of the game. It’ll be a tight fit trying to find the last one within five minutes.”
Kuina rubbed her head, that was true, she guessed, but she didn’t see it like that. The faster they looked and disabled these bombs, the quicker they could find others. It couldn’t be that difficult.
“But we don’t know where they’re placed, it could be to our advantage that most of them are clumped togeth- Oh…” Kuina paused at the sight of a ticking bomb just inches away from her, apprehension in her face as she stepped away, she could fight with her fists any day of the week but a bomb? No thanks, “Disarm this so I don’t kill us on accident.”
Chishiya looked smug as she rolled her eyes and with in moments he disarmed it as Kuina called out, the third one finished and only two left to go, if all went well just as planned, then they would have an easy night.
“Whatever the case is, as long as nobody screws up this will be easy,” Chishiya’s lips twitched into a smirk as he spoke, “They’re pretty stupid to label this a five when it’s really a three.” He supposed, at least this was another build up on his visa which was extending more and more by the day.
It wasn’t, that Chishiya was interested in death. No, it was quite the opposite, he was fascinated in why there was so much death, what was the reason? He hadn’t come up with a solid theory yet, but it was in the works. And furthermore, games and their mechanics were quite interesting, death being a punishment was only an added twist which was, admittedly beginning to get a little dull in his opinion.
After all it was difficult to threaten someone with death when they had no fascination in life whatsoever, “Well, just a little more to go and we’ll be finished.” Kuina yawned out, admittedly ready to eat a hot boil of ramen after this before crashing.
What neither of them expected was the loud booming echo of an explosion black smoke blooming the air both of them were taken a back as they ran to the side railing of the bridge attempting to look for where the explosion was, only to watch you being blasted off the railing straight off the bridge.
This was not going as planned.
...
Three Minutes Earlier…
Searching through the car trunk you rubbed your head, you had heard some shouting earlier indicating that the highschool student had already found a bomb and you had heard previous yelling as well, twice, once before the highschool student, another just a minute ago. This game was going fast. You sighed as you shoved your hands into your pocket, it would be bullshit if there wasn’t a single bomb at the back of the bridge.
You supposed it would very fortunate but, you ran all the way here, for nothing if there wasn’t.
Not to mention you and Daichi had gotten through quite a few cars in minimal time, he has just finished car and was making his way towards the edge of the bridge where on the last few cars of this little sliver were at, you admittedly, still had a long way too go.
You sighed walking over to a Mercedes which looked extremely expensive- maybe you could get someone from the Beach to fix it up…You groaned at the sound of heavy breathing, was Daichi trying to run again?
You peered over the hood of your car until to see him stiff as a board in front of a hood of a white Sudan.
Sometimes, you can just tell, when something is wrong. Nothing needs to be said, or heard. This was one of those moments where you felt a deep pit in your stomach. You made your way over in a hurry only to head an impending tick and Daichi’s hands were on the bomb making you almost immediately back away, “Uhh...okay cool you found it…” Daichi’s hands trembled and his breath was heavy as you watched a bead of sweat drip down his neck.
“Just uh...disarm it now.” You frowned a little, peering behind his shoulder to see the timer at was at a minute. Shit this must’ve been the next one activated, “Quickly.”
Daichi’s hands shook harder as he spoke hurriedly, “I...I don’t know how!” He freaked out sweat dripping off his chin as you backed away a little further, finding the edge of the bridge behind you and stepping on something.
“Just...do it like Chishiya said! Daichi we only have forty seconds!” You urged him, trying not to freak him out any further, “Ah here I’ll do it!”
“No!” Daichi screamed out, clutching it further as he spoke harshly, “If- if it’s moved it’ll explode!” He cried out, your heart rate was spiking and if he didn’t do anything you both were going to get killed, “Just rip off the wiring from the pack. Just like Chishiya said.” You shuffled a little, looking down only to see a cord piled up beneath your right foot.
Swallowing you carefully walked closer to him as you offered a weak smile, “Listen to me,” Daichi trembled and shook as his gaze flickered between the bomb and you, “Just…” twenty seconds left, “Take the wiring and pull it out.” You urged gently.
“How do we even know if we can trust that guy!?” Daichi cried out, “He- he just let a woman die just to see if he was right! We can’t trust him!” Daichi screamed out as you tried to calm your wild heart rate. He needed to calm down and at least try, a try was better than letting the timer go off.
“Chishiya is an expert with chemistry, science and medicine. If anyone knows how to disarm something I’d place my life on him.” That was a very bold claim you weren’t sure you’d actually put into practice but it was true.
Ten seconds.
You fumbled backwards as Daichi hyperventilated, “He practically killed someone! If I do something! It’ll be by my own choice!” He screamed out making you jump as you fumbled to lean down, grabbing the metal hook as you attached it to the cuff of your anklet, but it was too late. Daichi ripped the wiring not from the pack, but the bomb.
You don’t see it, you only see vivid hues of orange and red and blistering heat as the force of the explosion blew you right off the edge. The sky, truly was beautiful, even in your last moments.

Feathers and dawn (part II)
Day 18 of Elriel month/ Teach me how to fly
You can read part I here.
"Spread your wings."
The moment Elain opened her wings, the cold, impetuous wind hit them, and the full impact made her lose balance, almost falling backwards. Instead, she met Azriel's chest, his hands tightened on her waist, and her body went cold and hot all at once.
This time Elain did stop breathing.
WC: 4164/ Warnings: Language
(I had so much fun writing this! As usual, sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language. Sorry for any typos as well, but I can't look at it anymore lol)
Tumblr media
Elain had held that light inside of her with everything she got, and even so it came close to controlling her rather than the other way around.
She still could feel it, not the light that shone so bright to blind someone's eyes, but more like a gracious flame of a candle in her chest. But that was nothing compared to how the muscles on her back burned.
When her eyes cracked open, she was half expectant that all of it had been a delirious dream or one of those visions that still hunted her from time to time. But then she tried to move to a sit position, and a scream escaped from her throat at the very, very real pain punishing her upper body.
Her entire back was sore, and she could feel a complex extension of muscles - from her neck to the end of her spine - that was now linked to two massive weights coming out of her shoulder blades.
Excruciating, blinding pain.
Elain didn't notice the tears falling down her cheeks, couldn't even hear the sounds coming out of her own mouth.
Strong, calloused hands were pushing her hair away from her sweaty forehead a second later, and then Azriel’s beautiful face was there.
He was like a hiding spot in the middle of a storm, anchoring her from her agony, even though his expression was contorted in worry.
Azriel's eyes were wild, lips forming her name, but she couldn't hear a sound. Pain was all she knew, making her senses numbed.
Black dots started to dance in front of her eyes, her head getting light, and hazel ones full of terror was the last thing she saw before the world bleed into darkness again.
_______________
The next time Elain emerged to consciousness, first she smelled the leafy odor of salvia. Then the feeling of gentle, experienced hands massaged the line of her spine while she was lying on her stomach.
Heavy eyelids opened to the Velaris sunset, shades of pink and purple coloring the blue sky were visible through the familiar floor to ceiling windows, making her recognize her room in the river house.
Elain caught a movement from the corner of her eyes, and she inclined her head slightly to see Azriel, kneeling beside her bed, worry still printed in his face, but his eyes filled with relief now.
His hair was in complete disarray, the dark locks pointed in different directions as if he had run his hands through it repeatedly.
“You’re awake,” he breathed.
Those hands, unfamiliar hands, were still rubbing her exposed back, the gentle touch soothing the pain.
“That’s Majda, she’s almost finishing.” Azriel must have sensed her confusion. “How’s the pain?”
Her mouth was dry and it was an effort just to make words come out of it. “Tolerable” she said, voice raw.
He just nodded and then they fell in a comfortable silence. It was always like this with him - no need for empty words.
Azriel just stayed there in his vigil, shadows curling around his ankles, watching her with those familiar hazel eyes. Not the blazing gold of Cassian's, but rather an embrace shared between warm brown and stark gray, with hues of emerald green that would stand out according to his mood.
Eyes as complex as Azriel's himself, candidly observing her whilst Majda worked, her hands putting the exact amount of pressure to soothe her muscles, the salvia tuning the sharp pain into a dull ache. She didn't touch Elain's wings.
Wings.
Even with their weights on her back, even with the feeling of that warm power in her chest, Elain still was prone to believe it all had been a dream if it wasn't for the pain.
When Majda finished the healing massage, she merely told them she'd come back the next few days to do it again.
The bedroom’s door clicked shut, and Elain was already trying to get up, Azriel immediately protesting, "You should stay in bed.”
"I want to see them" was her only reply. She needed to see, to look at them. To know they were real.
"Your muscles aren't strong enough to support the new weight -"
Indeed, when she tried to stand, her balance wavered and she toppled forward.
Azriel caught her before she could fall on her face, hauling her up. Gently, one of his hands passed behind her knees, the other around her waist, and he scooped her up.
Elain let her head fall against his chest, breathing his scent as he walked through the room. A few moments later, far more than was necessary to reach her mirror, he put her down, but remained close.
She didn't see her pale face or even care about the fact that she was wearing nothing, but a nightgown that reached the middle of her thighs. Not when two massive wings rested on the floor behind her, the soft, white feathers touching the carpet.
Elain turned around to see her back, to see the point where the skin ended and the feathering began.
They were beautiful.
But she never had felt more unworthy of something. She couldn’t even hold them up, couldn't even lift them from the ground. It had been so exhausting spent months trapped in that murky realm, visions blending together with reality, that she hadn’t want find out what else the Cauldron had given her, hadn't want to touch that flame burning in her chest, not when her own body felt foreign and now -
Only when she felt tears dripping onto her chest, Elain realized she was crying, exhaustion falling upon her as a blanket, covering her to the bones.
She stood there for enough time that the next time Azriel spoke, she had almost forgotten he was there.
Almost.
Because she always seemed to sense whenever he was around.
"I will teach you everything."
It didn't sound like an offer at all. His words were a promise.
Slowly she turned from the mirror to face him - and nearly sobbed at how lovely and fiercely his eyes were, almost shining with sheer compassion.
Compassion for her, yes. But also for an Illyrian boy who didn't know how to fly, who found himself all alone in a war camp long ago. "I'll be with you and I'll teach you everything."
She didn’t know what to say, what to make of everything. So Elain only took his hand, interlacing their fingers and squeezing firmly.
But then, a thought struck her. "Truth-Teller," she gasped.
A smile curved his lips. "It's with me," he said. "I went back to the Cave. Turns out, without the Orb, the wards were gone."
Relief washed over her. And guilty.
"I'm sorry. I should - ."
Before she could finish her sentence, Elain was again in his arms. Azriel chuckled, but hadn't missed how heavy her eyelids were getting. "Not your fault. You weren't exactly in position to remember it," he said while gently carrying her back to bed.
But before he could lay down the mattress, he stopped by the side of the bed, and turned to look at her. Every ounce of amusement gone.
"I thought…" his words died and he shook his head.
No trace of that mask he so often used, no sign of his usually neutral expression.
The look on his face was Azriel in his most raw state. And she could see it.
I thought I had lost you.
She wished she wasn't so tired as she buried her face in the crook of his neck and breathed, "I know."
He nodded. He understood.
He murmured as he lay her in the bed, "Sleep. I still owe Nesta an explanation."
Elain smiled sleepily, and mumbled, "Good luck."
Just when darkness came to claim her once again, Elain felt the ghost touch of a light kiss in her temple and the smell of mist and cedar. ___________
The next day, Elain was sitting at her usual spot by the window of the living room in the river house, the Orb laying on a desk right in the center of the room. What was unusual, however, was the many pairs of eyes glued to her.
Cassian's jaw was still on the floor by the time Amren, the last one to arrive, entered the room. Even her face went a bit slack when she took in the wings and some emotion sparkled in her silver eyes.
Elain tried not to blush, but all that attention wasn't helping.
Although Feyre had helped her before to retract and summon her wings, which she was grateful for, Elain didn't want to summon them in front of everyone, so she decided to just get straight to the point.
She didn’t know how Azriel explained what had happened to the others, especially to Nesta. But given the look on her face fixed on Rhysand and on the spymaster, a perfect I Will Slay My Enemies look, according to Cassian, Elain wasn’t sure she wanted to know.
But as for now Azriel just held her sister's gaze, his face neutral.
"So…" Cassian began, waving a hand towards her wings. "What the hell?"
"I think what he's trying to ask you is," Nesta gave a look at her mate. "Where did those come from?"
Elain took a deep breath. "Well..." She bit her lip, trying to choose her words in order to make sense. "After I found out what I was, I've never accessed the full extension of my powers. I knew the Cauldron had given me something else, something more, but I didn't want to find out what it was."
Rhysand asked, "Why."
"Because I was too scared," She replied honestly. That was all she could say. She didn't want to, didn't know if she could relive those days when she couldn't tell reality and dreams apart.
She glimpsed at Azriel, who was at the corner of the room, sorrow shining on his face while he gave her a reassurance nod.
"So when I grabbed the Orb, it… whatever powers I have just grumbled in answer, as if they were the same… they came to the surface. It tried to stop them, push them back, to let go of the Orb, but I couldn't… it trapped me"
"That's because they are the same," Amren said. As soon as the words left her mouth, Elain understood what lay on her eyes: recognition.
"What wicked sort of plans the Cauldron may have for the three of you," Amren went on, nodding to Elain and her sisters.
"Amren," Rhysand said, the voice of the High Lord. "If you know something, just tell us."
The petite female gave him a hard look, before turning to Elain. "The Cauldron didn't make you any Seer." Amren tilted her head, studied Elain. "He also happened to make you an Oracle." Her eyes were practically two blazing stars, and Elain had to fight a shiver, before asking "An Oracle?"
"That 's right, girl."
"What's the difference?" Nesta demanded.
"A different group of Seers… powerful ones", Rhysand murmured, running a hand through his hair. "I thought they were just a myth."
"They were as real as you and me, Rhysand," Amren said, shaking her head.
It was Feyre's time to demand, "Someone please explain."
"Before the High Lords, there was a time where this world lived in complete, unshakable peace," Amren began. "The Oracles were the great responsibles for this time of harmony, a group of Seers who used to celebrate life and pulled the threads of Fate. They travel through words just like we travel between courts, using their Seer powers to See and manipulate the future to their will… to prevent any cause of conflict before it even became a conflict. Subtle, swift creatures those females"
Elain wasn't sure if anyone in the room was breathing.
Azriel asked quietly, "How did they disappear?"
"No one truly knows." Rhysand answered. "The legends don't go that far."
"Common Seers have the gift of sight, but it's limited in its own way," Amren explained. "Oracles, however, have other sort powers as well and they can see further in the future, no matter how distant."
There was one question in Elain's mind, essencial and terrifying. "What is my power?"
Amren's smile was a thing of pure wickedness. "I guess you'll have to find out."
"But why the wings?" Nesta asked, brows furrowed.
Amren eyes softened a little. "Some claimed some of them heritaged from an unknown race of warriors. But not every one of them had wings. If you were blessed with them, they would call you the Leader. The others would fly on their winged horses by her side, travelling through the world and maintaining their balance."
Elain's head was spinning. "But what about the Orb?"
"I might have an idea, but I'll need to do some research in the Helion's libraries first." Rhysand shot his mate a look, his lips curving. "Care to join?"
Feyre only rolled her eyes.
Cassian let out a long breath. "So you're telling me Elain could see if a war is truly coming and stop it before it even begins."
A sick feeling gathered on her stomach, and she blurted, "No."
Silence.
"No what?" Amren asked thighly.
"No, I won't use my powers to play with Fate." She couldn't help the edge of rage in her words. "Espeacilly not when Fate itself had been playing with me all along."
Silence fell.
"You're right," Feyre offered at last, her voice soft. "It's your choice."
Gratitude washed over Elain.
"I want to learn how to fly, though" she blurted, glancing at Azriel, who was already smiling.
Feyre looked between them. "You'll find Azriel has… harsh methods, but they are quite efficient."
Rhysand, who had been just observing, suggested, "Maybe you, Feyre darling, can teach Elain, too."
"I will train her." Azriel's words were practically a snarl, challenge filling every one of them.
Elain looked at the shadows gathering around him as he stared at Rhysand, who just narrowed his eyes back. Strange.
"I'm sure Azriel is the better option to teach Elain, he was the one who taught me after all." Feyre was looking pointly at her mate. "But I can participate in a few lessons when they get tired of training alone." She said looking at Elain, eyes shining bright with an edge of mischief.
Elain ignored that.
"You'll have to build some muscles, you know that, right?" Cassian asked.
Muscles. It wasn't that Elain was opposed to that, but… she couldn't see herself as a warrior like her sisters. Surely, she wouldn't mind learning one thing or two, but...
"I'll help you."
Elain turned to her older sister, with raised brows. "I don't…"
"You don't have to learn how to use a sword, but I can help with your core muscles," Nesta offered.
Then, Elain couldn't stop the warmth in her chest - not from that source of power, but from pure gratitude. "Thank you."
Amren shocked her head and huffled a breath, edged with amusement, making Elain's brows furrow at that.
"A Made, reborn Fae and a Valkyrie training a new Oracle." Her lips curved in a feral smile. "Three Cauldron-blessed sisters, indeed."
Elain didn't have to use the Orb to know Fate had listened to Amren's words.
--------------
"Shit."
Azriel's curse hit Elain's ears, before her arm hit the rock as she fell on her face right into the lake.
They had been training for weeks now. At first, it was more about how to summon her wings and keep them up instead of resting on the ground.
Sometimes Feyre would join them, or even Nuala and Cerridwen made an appearance for what Cerridwen called "emotional support".
Which means they watched as Elain jumped just to fall right into that gods-damned lake and tried not to laugh. Cerridwen often failed spectacularly at that.
But after one particularly hard training lesson that ended up with more bruises Elain would care to admit, especially to her pride, Cerridwen had come to her room with a gift: a brand new and very pink apron with a winged fawn carefully embroidered at the front, the chain stitches meticulous done.
It was the most ridiculous apron Elain had ever seen - and she wore every chance she got with a stupid smile on her face.
But most of the time it was only Azriel and her. First they would stick to training, and she was able to focus only on the lessons. Until one day they had sat side by side at the shore, talking about everything and nothing, and, gods, she had missed him.
But then she felt that ravenous pull towards him and had to look away, before she could do something stupid again - and just like that she remembered why they had kept their distance in the first place.
She knew he desired her just as she desired him. She had seen the longing in his face, and had smelled his scent that night, darker than usual. Had read the hunger shining in his eyes as he looked at her.
But she had crossed a line he didn't want to cross.
Good thing now she had other things to worry about. Like ignoring the pain in her left arm, finding her way to the surface to get the hell out of that chilling lake.
But before she could do any of those things, Elain found herself looking at the sky and then the ground was beneath her.
And a very, very shirtless Azriel was by her side. "Are you alright?" he asked, wrapping his tunic around her shoulders, scanning for injuries.
Even with her teeth almost chattering off her mouth from the cold, Elain couldn't help but take one good look at his muscled chest, those intricate tattoos on display and she felt her face heating. Not from embarrassment, but from pure desire that was pounding in her blood, traveling through her body. All she wanted in that moment, and so many before that, was to touch him, taste him. Be with him, by his side.
She imagined what would be like to have that powerful body hovering over hers.
Then she blushed a bit at those thoughts, too.
"I"m fine," she blurted after a considerable time, enough to make Azriel blush as well. And make her consider throwing herself at the lake again.
To distract herself, Elain closed her eyes and accessed that flame in her chest, letting it shine bright inside her, waves of heat running through her veins and bones until she was no longer cold.
When she looked at Azriel, he was already watching her. He cleaned his throat. "You kept yourself on the air longer this time."
Elain raised an eyebrow, "I fell on the only rock in this entire river."
A gleam shone in his eyes.
Elain narrowed hers at him.
"Are you trying not to laugh?"
"No," he said, clapping his lips together.
Every pound of desire in her blood died. "You said it wasn't funny anymore after the first four times!"
At that, Azriel tipped his head back and busted out such a rich laugh, that even Elain couldn't stop the small smile on her own lips. "You are a terrible teacher."
Except that he wasn't. Azriel was patient and thoughtful. He had refused to let her practice anywhere but the lake, and when she said she didn't need to be coddled and could practice on land, he had scanned her face, so many emotions passing across his, and told her he wouldn't see her getting hurt.
So they practice on the lake. Every day.
That was weeks ago and Elain was starting to think she would never take to the skies. She still couldn't sustain herself on the air for more than a few seconds.
"What is it like? To fly, I mean." she asked, eyes fixing on the lake before her.
She felt Azriel's eyes on her. "It 's freedom." Truth echoed in his words.
Elain nodded to herself. "I can hear the wind calling me." Her wing ruffled as if in emphasis."I can feel every muscle in my body begging me to jump out of the windows and it just… it's getting harder to ignore."
Elain tried to stop the burning in her eyes, her voice was broken when she breathed, "Why me, if I can't even get close to being airborne for more than five seconds?"
Azriel kept silent for so long, she didn't know if he heard her, but she was too much of a coward to look at him. Didn't want to look at him, not like this, not again.
But then gentle fingers found her chin and slowly turned her head to meet hazel eyes shining bright as the sun above them.
"Come with me."
Next thing she knew she was taking his extended hand and he shot to the skies, his tunic flying from her shoulders while she was being cradled against his bare chest.
Even though he was made of muscles hard as rock, his skin was warm and soft as the finest velvet.
Azriel landed right on the top of one of the highest mountains surrounding Velaris, the city bursting with life so far below that it seemed one of Nyx's toys.
And Elain almost stopped breathing. "Are you going to push me?"
Azriel chuckled, but didn't answer. "Turn around and close your eyes."
"So you definitely are going to push me," she murmured, but did as she was told.
She didn't know what she was expecting, but it wasn't Azriel's large hands on her waist or the warmth of his body behind her.
"Spread your wings."
The moment Elain opened her wings, the cold, impetuous wind hit them, and the full impact made her lose balance, almost falling backwards. Instead, she met Azriel's chest and his hands tightened on her.
This time Elain did stop breathing.
Especially when Azriel's breath caressed the
shell of her ear. "Focus on the wind passing through your wings, how each feather answers to it. Try to understand its direction, its temperature."
So she did. And she could feel it. She could feel the most external layer of feathers absorbing the temperature impact of the icy wind. Could feel the most little plumes, so sensitive they could perceive the slight change in any air current direction.
She became aware of everything around her. But mostly of the heat emanating from Azriel's body on her back, of his thumbs now drawing small circles on her sides.
"When I was a boy, I used to think the same thing as you do now," he whispered. "I was locked away and had to suppress so many instincts…" He let out a breath. "These wings are yours and only yours, you command them. It might take some time, but you will fly and control your powers. Be patient. You can do whatever you want, Elain."
It was his words, the meaning. He believed in her, had always believed in her.It was that certainty that had her leaning into his touch.
She folded in her wings and tilted her head, slowly opening her eyes to find his beautiful face inches from hers, close enough for her to see the hues of green in his eyes.
"Thank you," she breathed.
Azriel said nothing. No, he just let every word shine in his gaze as he leaned down and brushed his nose against hers while his thumbs were still caressing her sides leisurely.
She sucked in a breath, eyes falling close as she lost herself at the pure intimacy of that touch. Elain's whole body went molten and she wanted nothing more than to melt against his chest.
But she couldn't cross that line again.
So she pulled back, just enough to look at his face and made herself say, "I think Nesta is waiting for me."
Shadows darkened his hazel eyes. "Right."
On their way to the House of Wind, she thought Azriel would keep silent but he surprised her when he said quietly, "Nuala and Cerridwen never told me you were training with them."
Despite everything, a faint smile curved Elain's lips. "You can't expect to know everyone secrets."
He lifted an eyebrow. "That's my job."
And Nuala and Cerridwen's, too.
"I don't want to be a warrior," Elain blurted. "But… maybe I can use my gifts - my sight gifts, I mean - to..."
A whisper of those shadows still filled his gaze, but Azriel gave her a small smile. "Like spying?"
Elain blushed. "Perhaps."
"You'd make a good spy, but you have to be patient."
Elain looked at him. At that male who had intrigued her and made her feel comfortable and safe from the very beginning. At that male who found her when no one else would, who had seen her. Had truly seen her.
No, she wouldn't cross that line now, but...
"I can be patient, Azriel," she breathed. Promised.
This time, hope shone so brightly in his hazel eyes that no room was left for shadows.

YOU’RE OURS
THOMAS x NEWT x READER
Tumblr media
NSFW
Warnings: Smut, threesome.
A/N : It is set after Death Cure . Our Cutie Newt is alive !!!!! I can’t let him die in my story . And yeah it’s my first imagine in Tumblr.
You couldn’t help the hiss that escaped your lips as Thomas gently padded the cut on your shoulder with gauze.
“Sorry” He flinched, “I’m being as soft as I can…”
“I know, tommy , it’s ok” You reassured him.
He sighed,
“No, it’s not. I’m good at this, god knows I’ve had practice, but I’m not a doctor…” nonetheless, he grabbed the needle and medical thread, “You should have let Brenda take a look at you”
You had been naive, the both of you, in believing you had seen the last of the cranks for the night.
The cranks were turning violent when they realized the immunes are not affected by them so they focused on biting the main arteries or important parts of body so that the immunes could either die due to blood loss or they become disabled .
During the last scavenging hunt you got bit on your shoulders but Newt was also hurt so Thomas asked brenda to stay with Newt .
Thanks the lord you were immune and newt was also immune as he was given the cure in safe haven .
It clicked then, watching your boyfriend’s tear streaked face.
“You’re in love with him”
“So are you” It wasn’t an accusation, just the statement of a fact. You weren’t really surprised he had realized, not when he could hear your heartbeat quicken whenever Newt showed up in your hut .
The silence fell between you like ghost, a heavy presence, invisible but suffocating, for several moments, until Thomas gathered enough courage to break it,
“I still love you, Y/N. This doesn’t change that”
“I know,” you sighed, “I still love you too”
“What are we going to do now?” He looked about as lost as you felt.
“I don’t know, Tommy…”
“I- I don’t want to lose you” He choked out a sob.
“You won’t” You stood, pulling him in, wrapping your arms around him. He held onto you hard, almost so hard it hurt, but you couldn’t let go. You wouldn’t. “You won’t lose me, Tommy , ever. Not for this, not for anything”
He leaned back just enough to crush his lips to yours, pouring all his desperation, all his fear and guilt into a bittersweet kiss. His arms wound even tighter around you in an iron grip, afraid if he let go for just a second, you would disappear from his side.
“Don’t leave me… please don’t leave me” He didn’t realize the words were escaping his mouth between kisses until your answer reached his ears, soothing like a balm:
“I won’t. I’m never leaving you”
The ground was swept from under your feet, as Thomas picked you up, bridal style. He needed you, his sunshine, his anchor to-
Until someone knocked the door .
“ Thomas , Y/N “ you both froze hearing Newt’s voice .
You found a silk robe to put on over your flimsy summer pajamas, covering your body not out of modesty, but to somewhat conceal the bandages and bruises littering your skin. Thomas smiled, it was just like you to hide your vulnerabilities, especially if you were expecting a confrontation. He took your hand, and you stepped out of the bedroom together. Come what may, you knew you could face it, as long as you had each other.
“Newt!” The gasp left Thomas’s throat unbidden, as soon as his eyes fell on his friend. It was a pitiful sight, the blonde still wearing the same clothes from last night, rumpled and dirty, the stench of sweat coming out of his pores .
“I’m sorry” Newt croaked between tears, “I’m so sorry ”
He hadn’t noticed how cold he was, until Thomas enveloped him in his warm embrace.
“It’s ok, Newt” You heard him whisper, “It’s going to be ok. We got you now…”
“Make it stop , Make my nightmare stop” Newt’s cries were muffled against your boyfriend’s shoulder, but you still could feel the pain in his voice, loud and clear. It hurt like a physical blow to your chest, knocking the air out of you. You had tried, you really had, but apparently your feelings for the brown eyed boy weren’t as under control as you had thought “Please… make it stop”
He wasn’t even conscious of the words leaving his mouth, as he begged to a god he didn’t believe in, to whoever might be listening, for something to numb the pain. To feel anything else than that soul crushing agony consuming him.
Thomas’s eyes found yours, a silent request for permission. You didn’t know what was in his mind, but you trusted him, with more than your life: You trusted him with your heart.
You nodded. It was all Thomas needed. He cupped Newt’s face with his hands, and kissed him.
It was surreal. Suddenly, you were witnessing your boyfriend passionately making out with the man that had been haunting your dreams for months, and you should have felt jealousy or betrayal, but the truth was, those were the furthest things from your mind. Because Newt seemed to be finally kissing back, fingers tangling in Thomas’s curls, still wet from your shared shower, tugging just enough for the brunnet to let out the most delicious little whimper and fuck, but that had to be the hottest thing you had ever seen in your life making you gasp.
And Thomas had probably felt the change in you, the rising in your temperature, the gasp that left your mouth, cause he reached for your hand without even looking, pulling you closer, guiding the blond man towards your lips. His once familiar mouth quickly reacquainted itself with yours, tongue exploring, teeth nibbling softly. The shock sent shivers down your spine, as Thomas’s hands opened your robe, sliding the cool silk down your arms. His lips on your neck had your head spinning, and you had to hold onto Newt’s strong shoulders to stop yourself from falling.
“Hey Love” He breathed out as you broke the kiss, cursing your need for oxygen.
“Hi” You smiled, “It’s been too long”
“Far too long” Newt agreed, the beautiful brown of his eyes, dark and turbulent with lust remembering the drunk kiss both of you shared in the glade at the bonfire .
Thomas didn’t stay idle for long, agile fingers working open Newt’s shirt, stepping closer, pushing your body further into Newt’s space. It wasn’t long till you found yourself trapped between two naked, equally stunning torsos, pushing and pulling, as Thomas’s and Newt’s lips collided again over your shoulder.
You felt your boyfriend’s hand slip inside your sleeping shorts, teasing you over your panties.
“Tommy” You reached back, arm hooked on the back of his neck for purchase, as he tugged your underwear to the side, and buried two fingers inside your tight heat.
“Fuck!”
Startled, you opened the eyes you hadn’t even realized you had closed. You were ashamed to admit you had pretty much forgotten the other man’s presence, Thomas was just that good, knew your body that well, but Newt was still standing in front of you, eyes fixed on the erotic way Thomas’s hand was moving inside your shorts. His other hand lowered the straps of your camisole one by one, baring your chest to Newt’s wonderstruck stare.
The moan that escaped your lips as Thomas started expertly massaging your breast finally pulled the golden haired man out of his trance,
“Can I…”
“Touch her?” Thomas finished for him, placing a sweet kiss on your temple, as your head rolled back, coming to rest on his chest, “I don’t know, buddy. You’ll have to ask her”
You heard Newt’s voice, but it was hard to concentrate with Thomas’s fingers penetrating you over and over again, grazing that perfect spot inside you every time. Thomas chuckled a little smugly.
“Baby girl, is it ok if Newt touches you?”
“Yes!” You panted, at last “Yes, please, Newt… touch me”
He did more than that, lips closing around the nipple not currently between Thomas’s fingers, hands roaming all around your body, tearing and ripping at clothes with Newt’s help, until you were completely naked, and completely at their mercy.
Your boyfriend laid you down on the bed He positioned you so your legs would hang out the border, guiding Newt to kneel between them.
“Bossy, aren’t you?” The blond quipped, playfully.
“Oh, you have no idea” Thomas smirked from behind his back, turning his head to capture his lips again in the filthiest of kisses. You watched Thomas’s hands trail down Newt’s chest, lower down his abs and further south still, undoing his button and his fly, disappearing inside his pants.
Your breath catched at the same time as his, when Thomas’s hand closed around his member, slowly pumping up and down, up and down, the same hypnotic.
Newt’s head fell forward, eyes closed in bliss, but that was when Thomas saw you.
“Naughty girl,” He murmured, eyes zeroing in the way your index finger was rubbing circles on your clit, “you know I hate it when you do that…”
Your smirk was defiant,
“What are you going to do about it?” You let your other hand travel over your skin, caressing softly, teasing yourself as much as teasing him “You have your hands full”
“I’ll take care of her” Newt was looking at you longingly, “Please, Thomas… let me take care of her…”
“Hmmm… only because you ask so nicely” Thomas’s words were a little slurred, and you knew he was drunk with the power. Having both you and Newt to dominate, to do as he said was making him dizzy, almost overwhelmed.
“Put your mouth on her, Newt… she’s fucking delicious, tastes just like strawberries…”
Newt bent over, licking his lips, eyes fixed on yours. The movement pressed his ass against Thomas’s hard on, making him hiss.
“Can I-”
“Yes, please”
Your boyfriend tugged both Newt’s pants and boxers down. You couldn’t see exactly what he was doing, but Newt’s handsome face, contorting in pleasure, gave you a pretty good idea.
“Oh, god, Newt!” You gasped as his tongue, at last, made contact with your flesh.
He hummed as if in agreement, flattening his tongue over your slit before using the tip to tap your pearl. Your hand flew to his head, finding purchase in his golden curls as he licked into you eagerly, rocking his whole face against you.
He was nothing like Thomas. This was messy, obscene, it lacked Thomas’s finesse and precision, but fuck it was good.
You could feel the coil tighten inside you, already so close to the brink from Thomas’s hand, but just as it was about to snap, Newt’s lips left you.
“Oh, fuck!” His curse was muffled against your thigh. You could see your boyfriend’s curls over the curve of Newt’s back and you could only guess what his wicked tongue was doing to the boy between your legs.
Oh yeah, he’s quite talented at that isn’t he?” You giggled despite your frustration
“So good” Newt moaned, “So so good…”
Thomas came into view then, placing kisses along Newt’s spine.
“If you want my mouth on you” He whispered in his ear, loud enough for you to hear, “keep yours on her”
Newt nodded, enthusiastically.
“And make sure she comes,” He went on, “that’s the only rule: Our girl gets to come… Over, and over,” He punctuated every word with a kiss down Newt’s back again, “and over, and over…”
The most wanton of noises left Newt and you knew conversation time was over as he dove right back in, separating your lips with his fingers, thrusting his tongue inside you as deep as it would go. Your back arched off the chaise, crying out loud when Newt decided to add a finger, and then another one, as his lips closed around your clit, sucking a little too hard.
It was too much.
“Newt… fuck, ah!… Slow down, baby”
“Keep going, Newt” Thomas’s tone was stern, as he watched you writhe in pleasure. He was on his knees again, coating two of his fingers with lube. When had he gone and fetch it, you had no idea. “Make her come… god you have to see her, she is so gorgeous when she comes…”
And it wasn’t going to take long, with the way Newt’s tongue was circling your clit and the vibrations from his own moans and sweet little whines, you could feel yourself right at that edge, all you needed was something to tip you over.
Newt’s hand made its way to your chest, finding your breast and massaging just the way you liked it, the way you had done earlier. He was a fast learner. But you didn’t have much time to marvel about that, cause you were finally falling, every nerve of your body going up in sparks, your cries of ecstasy intermingling with his, as Thomas finally, finally entered him, torturously slow, making him feel every lavish inch.
The stronger boy’s measured but powerful thrusts pushed Newt’s body forwards. He wrapped his arms around your waist, burying his face on your Neck, mouth slack against your skin, muffling his sounds.
“Careful there,” Thomas warned, slowing down his movements almost to a stop, “She’s hurt”
Squaring your jaw, you looked up at Thomas .
“What are you waiting for, Tommy?” Your boyfriend’s eyes went wide at your commanding tone, “Fuck him like you mean it”
Thomas gulped, goosebumps erupting on his skin. Oh yeah, he might be a big boy now, but your dominant voice could still make him weak. He wondered absently if it was simply you, and everything you did, that turned him to putty in your hands.
“Yes, ma'am” He grabbed onto Newt’s hips, picking up his rhythm.
“Oh god!” Newt sobbed into your skin. You ran your hand through his curls, caressing soothingly.
“He feels good, doesn’t he? So hard and big…”
“So big…” The blonde agreed, “so deep…”
“How does Newt feel, Tommy?”
Your boyfriend was biting his lip, looking down, fixated on the place he was disappearing inside Newt.
“So good, so fucking tight…”
You sighed, yearningly. They were breathtakingly, heartbreakingly beautiful. All lean and strong muscles, locking and releasing, miles of soft creamy skin colliding on skin, tiny beads of sweat glistening in the soft morning light. It was fascinating, watching them move together, the dirty sounds leaving them more than enough to make you wet and ready again.
But before you could say something, you felt Newt stare on you.
“Y/N… I need you, please” He pleaded, small and shy, as if afraid you would say no. You looked at Thomas for reassurance, but he was already bending over, reaching for Newt’s cock and unrolling a condom around it, pushing him further up your body. The blond whined in complaint when the movement caused Thomas to slip out of him.
“You liked that, didn’t you?” Your boyfriend moved closer, kissing his shoulder, “Like me filling you up so good…”
Newt and you moaned in unison, making him chuckle.
“It’s her turn now. She needs to be filled too. So go on, bury that gorgeous cock of yours between her legs” Thomas encouraged, softly, his tone a stark contrast to the vulgarity of his words, “and I will fuck you so hard she will feel it”
Newt cursed, Thomas dirty mouth was going to be the death of him, he just knew it.
No, he was already in heaven, he decided, as he braced himself on his forearms at each side of your head, taking his sweet time entering you. He would be lying if he said he hadn’t thought about this, the truth was he had, a million times. Now it was really you, and never in his wildest dreams had he pictured it could be like this, your breathy moans underneath him, your heat embracing him so perfectly… As your boyfriend did obscene, immoral, delicious things to him from behind, driving him right to the brink of sanity.
And he didn’t waste any time, thrusting hard and fast. Soon, Newt was a sobbing mess, trapped as every move to escape Thomas cock drove him deeper into you, every motion backwards and away from you impaling him further on Thomas cock. There wasn’t much he could do, but take whatever Thomas gave him.
You clung onto his back, blunt fingernails digging into his skin,
“I’m going to come… Newt, I’m going to come on your cock”
Fuck, you were just as dirty as your boyfriend. And it was truth, he could feel it, feel your walls quivering around his dick, feel your body starting to shake with the force of your orgasm. Thomas bended over, grabbing hold of his shoulders, changing the angle, hitting his prostate over and over, white hot pleasure exploding without warning. Newt drown his screams into your mouth, his climax almost painful in it’s intensity, his vision going black.
“ Why don’t you move in with us if your nightmares are that bad “ You said
Newt was speechless. He had wish, he had dreamed, but he hadn’t let himself hope. That this… whatever it was, wild, and exiting, and delicate and precious between the three of you was not a one time thing. He had tried to convince himself that he would be fine if it was, that he was going to treasure it anyway, be glad it happened, enjoy it while it lasted. Even if it killed him the next day.
It was a fine line between happiness and heartbreak, the one he had been walking with you today.
“I… Well, I mean” He stammered “I think I would love to.  I mean. If it doesn’t bother you guys, that is”
Thomas and you exchanged a look, one of those silent communication things you seemed to always have going on, and he felt the littlest pang of envy. He wanted to be privy to those conversations, like he wanted to be a part of yours and Thomas’s world.
And maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t an impossible dream. Because suddenly he found himself with an armful if you, capturing his lips in a possessive kiss that spoke of something deeper than lust and passion, something permanent and meaningful and as inescapable as fate, ‘You are ours now, you belong to us. And we are never letting you go’

Known By You
Pairing: Din Dijarin x Reader
Warnings: None
Word count: 2k+
Summary: You have been traveling with the Mandalorian and his child for a long time and throughout that time many feelings went unsaid. After three tiresome days of being away Din returns with the intent of making all his feelings and feverish desires known.
Tumblr media
The bright day had fallen into immense darkness as heavy rain fell from the darkened sky — droplets swiveling softly down the windows of the cockpit. As the sounds of rain bouncing off the ship’s medal fills the air you sat comfortably in the pilot seat, your legs tucked under you as the child sat perched in your lap. Small coos left him as he saw the rain drizzle down, putting his small three fingered hands up against the chilled glass to catch them. His innocence and curiosity caused you to chuckle quietly, your eyes glazing over in admiration.
The sun's rays shined dimly from behind the grey, fast moving clouds and from this observation you could assume that it was late in the evening. This would mark the third day that your companion, the Mandalorian, had been gone after a highly desired bounty.
"Looks like it will be just the two of us tonight, little one."
He didn't verbally respond, he only looked up at you with wide eyes, seemingly understanding what you were saying. As if sensing the absence of his father the situation caused his eyes to droop slightly as if he were burdened by the lack of his fathers presence.
While trying to comfort him, and yourself, your soft and reassuring words reverberated off the cockpit's steel walls, "He'll be alright. Din will come back to us — he always does."
Moments passed and soon you realized the child in your arms was slowly but surely falling into the clutches of sleep. With your lips curled into a small smile you stood to your feet with the drowsy child in your arms, "Time for you to rest, ad'ika."
Though the conversations were always one sided you never felt lonely when Din left you and the child on the Razor Crest. The child always seemed to understand what you were saying and seemingly nodded along to contribute to the words that would leave your lips. The child curled further into you, soaking in your body heat as if it were his own. As you made your way down the ladder his small hand gripped tightly onto the material of your shirt, clutching it in his tiny fist. Though the cracks of barely opened eyes his dark orbs watched you intently.
As you walked your mind wondered, coming to the conclusion that you envied the small child whom held tightly onto your shirt. A sigh left your lips as you opened the compartment that harbored the child's small hammock and the Mandalorian's small bed. As you tucked the child into his swinging hammock your eyes fell onto the unmade bed behind him. The blankets were in disarray and a singular pillow was still scrunched up from its last use. Your breaths became uneasy as you were plagued with only one question: what if something bad really did happen to Din?
What would you do then?
Nothing but worries clouded your better judgment as you slowly but surely fell into a panic. Your body tensed as you gazed onto the child and in seeing that he was fast asleep and swaddled in his blankets you back away and pressed the button, watching as he disappeared from sight behind the steel door. If something truly did happen to Din you couldn't stand to be on this ship anymore — not without him. Looking around there were so many memories, happy memories. You couldn't bear to shift through the silent and never ending confines of hyperspace if he wasn't by your side.
You knew what emotions you were feeling within yourself and it scared you more than you were willing to admit. But, in some twisted way, the fear of losing him made this feeling more prominent.
With heavily burdened footsteps you came to the cockpit ladder, pausing your strides as you sighed quietly to yourself. You were tired, not just physically but mentally as well. Your worries did you no good as it only made you fall faster into fatigue and weariness. The comlink in your pocket felt as if it was weighing you down.
There would be no harm in checking in, right?
He only wanted the comlink to be used in an emergency and your worries were no emergency. Making the finale decision to leave well enough alone, you pushed the thought of the comlink from your mind as you continued to climb up the ladder. With a grunt you heaved yourself up into the cockpit and made your way to a compartment and opened it. Once the small compartment was opened it revealed a stash of blankets and such which cause you to smile. Pleased with your findings you managed to reach out with trembling hands to grasp the thin fabric. Though the fabric of the blanket wasn't much, it was something.
Carelessly you made you way to the pilot seat once again, unraveling the blanket and tugging it under your chin to enclose your shivering body. Glancing out the window you continued to watch the rain drizzle down, leaving trails of water cascading down the glass. While entranced by the scene in front of you, your eyes began to flutter closed as you watched the planet become darkened by the shadow of nightfall.
You allowed your tired body to sink deeper into the seat, the seat that your companion would normally sit in. You sat in his chair as you drifted off, your thoughts sailing along the tide of a stream to him. While you pictured him your worries withered away, causing your chest to rise and fall as a content breath blew out from between your parted lips. While your mind painted a mural of him you fell into the veil of slumber and for a moment you were at peace.
The night's shadow slowly drifted on as the bounty hunter walked up the ramp and into the cargo hold of the Razor Crest. There was muddied water sloshing inside his boots, his clothes were soaking wet, and his cape dripped droplets onto the steel flooring. The tanned skin that hid underneath the beskar and underclothes began to regain body heat as he stepped into the familiar warmth of his home. As he stood there he closed his eyes, relishing in the heat that filled the air around him. Short seconds went by before the armored man decided to open his eyes and in doing so he noticed the lack of activity happening around him.
Knowing that the child and you were tucked away and asleep, he decided to take his helmet off. Once he did so he was greeted with air brushing against every inch of his face. In feeling this sensation it caused him to release a content sigh. His body lost its tense stance when he set the helmet under his arm and brought his hands to his eyes, rubbing them gently to rid them of their drowsiness. He needed to get off this planet, he needed to get away from the stormy weather, he needed to see you, and he needed to make sure the kid was alright. His mind was on a constant loop of needs and he wasn't all too happy about the protective instinct that kept hold of him.
He slipped his helmet back over his head; once again concealing his identity from the world and its inhabitants. Once he heard the hiss of his helmet latching securely to his armor he began his walk to the cockpit. When in the cockpit he noticed a small figure curled up in his chair. Under his helmet his eyebrows were knitted together in an almost bewildered expression. While looking you over he felt a tug from within him, something trying to push him towards you.
Though he tried to resist this pull that was luring him to you, he couldn't find the strength to abandon its selfish yearnings.
With cautious steps he made his way to you, his knuckles barely brushing against the outer ridges of your cheekbones. His breathing was uneasy as it projected through his modulator. With carful hands he brushed the stray hairs that fell onto your face. Though no one could see it, under his helmet he smiled softly at you while he studied your face that seemed to contort into a look of contentment during your slumber.
As if your body could feel the heat of his gaze, you began to stir awake. When you allowed your eyes to flutter open you were met with a shadowed outline of a familiar t-shaped visor.
Din
Neither of you made the decision to move or question the close proximity that you had awoken to. Your eyes followed the outer curves of his helmet wondering about the face that lies beneath. You have already seen so much of him underneath all the beskar because you've seen his heart. You see the way he treats the child, how he treats you. You know under all that armor he has a habit of caring too deeply. He's not the heartless and malevolent bounty hunter that so many thought him to be.
He was unknown to them but to you he was known. Maybe that's what drew him to you. Maybe that's what makes him want to show you things that his creed forbids him to reveal.
In your eyes he was a protector, a father to the baby sleeping down in the belly of the razor crest, and he's someone who you have fallen completely and helplessly in love with, "You're back."
He nodded, not allowing words to squeeze out from his tight throat. He felt as if you were intoxicating him with your presence, your compassion burrowing deep within him, making him feel confused and timid at the warm feeling. He was raised to be fearless, to be a warrior. Yet when he's in your presence he fails to remember much when he meets your eyes. You lay siege to him causing all conscious thoughts to dissipate from his mind.
The room was dark when Din decided to reach out to tenderly cup your cheek. As his hand rested on you he could feel your body relaxing under his touch. His breath hitched as he felt your lips leave a quick kiss on his palm, making him feel the heat of your lips through the leather of his gloves.
Before he could force himself to pull away a soft question slipped from your lips, "What do you want from me?"
That question, at the moment, seemed unanswerable but nevertheless the Mandalorian decided to respond, "I don't know."
His voice sounds soft and gentle but when you hear it you could sense some uncertainty lamenting his crackled speech as it came through the modulator. He removed his hand from your cheek and brought his palm to cover your eyes, "Keep your eyes closed." He whispered softly.
Without hesitation you followed his gentle plea, sealing your eyes shut until he directed you to do otherwise. His hand left you completely and you felt nerves bubble up within you, silently begging for his touch to return. You could hear nothing but the the sound of a hiss filling the room and you slowly came to the realization that Din had removed his helmet. Your silent need for his touch was answered as you felt his bare index finger slowly began to trace up your windpipe then ever so slightly he moved to trace your jaw.
A sharp intake of breath seeped past your lips as you felt the warmth and tenderness of his actions. His hand halted its journey as he soaked in the sight of you, mesmerized by the way his gloveless hand felt against the warmth of your unexplored skin. His thumb was mere inches from feeling your lips and in this moment he knew exactly what he wanted from you. Din Djarin's hand held a slight shake to it as his thumb brushed over the plump of your lips.
"Can I. . is it okay if-."
"Yes."
You now understood what he wanted and you were willing to give him what he desired. Without sight you simply sat, awaiting the feel of him that you knew was to come. His lips, when they met yours, held nothing but love. The kiss started out slow causing your mouths to meld together in a perfect rhythm. You now know exactly how the Mandalorian feels because now, as his lips are on yours, he's showing you everything he failed to express with his words.

bella still gets the phone call, and renee doesn't answer when either of them call. when the others are distracted, she still gets away to meet james, but when the cullens go to save her, charlie's waiting outside with esme and rosalie (who are guarding him on the road instead). victoria is there too - and she gives them more trouble than they anticipated. emmett and jasper are distracted by the redhead and the noises from inside the studio getting louder and more concerning by the second.
when a scream rings out — he's never heard bella sound like this, not even when she was a mousy little girl buried under his seahawks baseball cap far too big for her head — charlie can't help but wrench open the door and run inside. his baby is cowering away from a bloodthirsty monster and there's not even a pause in his step as he sprints over to shield her form with his own, squeezing her against his chest and praying for the first time since he heard she wanted to come up to forks for the rest of school
his prayer's interrupted by a loud shattering sound and a malicious laugh. "aw, look at that! daddy's trying to save you. what a noble, pointless sacrifice!" a smack like stone hitting stone. "well far be it from me to deny a man his dying wish."
he doesn't hear what he says next - he doesn't hear anything, or see anything, because everything is white and sharp and pain, burning like a star, blooming in the crevice where his shoulder meets his collarbone. nothing exists right then but the cold fire in his skin, burrowing in his bone. it feels like hours before anything changes. the first thing to slip through is wet on his cheek and cool hands scrabbling to clutch at his.
"dad! dad!" bella? "edward! carlisle! anybody, any of you, please, I need help! my dad — needs help!" a hand on his cheek, trembling and frantic. "dad just hang in there! somebody help us!"
his fingers twitch, stretching towards her. "bella —you okay — bells — "
"im okay! im okay, im so sorry, dad, im so sorry! im sorry, it shouldnt have been you — this is all my fault — edward! edward please, you have to help him!"
hers is still the only voice he can discern but there are more emerging, blending together but getting closer. he catches snatches of words like 'bit', and 'spread', and 'minutes', and 'sorry', and 'safety'. a pale shape stands at the edge of his vision, and at once he's lifted from the floor. he convulses, eliciting another audible choke from his sweet daughter, and he recognizes a familiar, soothing voice from above.
"we can't stay here..."
"what? what do you mean?"
"we'll bring him back with us..."
"what are you going to do?"
"let him take him, bella, please"
"we'll watch over him, i promise."
"Im not leaving him, i can't just let him go!"
"i promise," softer. "jasper — will he sleep?"
the world softens and fully crumbles away. there's nothing left. nothing but fire.
time doesn't exist here, but then the fire, it doesn't go out. yet it stops hurting. it stops eating. it starts feeding. a single thought pops into his head that will make no sense to him when he recalls it later — a weary 'oh. i see.'
three days after the ballet studio, he wakes up to a brown popcorn ceiling. he blinks. he can see every crack and cranny in the plaster.
"mr. swan?" a tinkling voice says, and he sits up. "good, I thought you'd be up." the little black haired cullen girl beams up at him, chipper but sorry. her hand is curled around his wrist. "bella will be back any moment, and carlisle soon after. they're just across the hall, actually. he says we'll need to look after you for a while, just in case, —"
she pauses, just soon enough to avoid being interrupted by the sound of beeping and pressing keys and the door swinging open. bella is whole and wonderful — he can see every inch of her and she's really actually fine, not even a scratch — and she freezes seeing him but then she's flinging herself forward, pale face contorting
"dad—!"
"b-bells," he stands up, quickly, too quickly, to meet her, tugging alice along with him, but edward catches his girlfriend's hand and holds her back as he voices her objections to her entering at all. charlie scowls at first, when a scent reaches his nose — a smell that might've made his stomach growl if it could. his eyes cast up in open question.
edward is stiff, eyes looking conflicted but legs poised to pounce. "it's her."
"oh." charlie shifts uncomfortably on his feet, properly spooked, willing the despairing thirst away. as moments pass since making the connection, the scent of blood — of food — fades, to the point he can hardly detect it at all. it's a sharp relief.
"you — how do you feel," bella forces out, eyes locked with his with an uncomfortable intensity that makes him squirm and anxiously rake a hand through his hair. carlisle and the others filter in behind her and he's grateful for something else to look at, now he knows she's safe.
"better," he settles on. "than before, I mean. was that — did —" he waits for someone to interrupt him and fill him in, but it's quiet. "are you okay?"
a bark of laughter bursts from her chest and she assures him she's fine, eyes wide and brows furrowed like she can't believe he's a real person, the way she gets sometimes when he says something so awkward and sincere it makes her want to groan. but she doesn't want to groan anymore. instead she's torn between crying and singing.
"what do you remember?" carlisle asks, gently stepping forward, his gaze a mix of clinical fascination, wary confusion, and personal concern. charlie would flush beneath it... but the heat never comes to his cheeks.
"exactly how much are you looking for," he grumbles. "last thing i recall..." no need to go into the pain. "finding bella with that... guy at the studio."
"just finding her?"
"trying to protect her," he amends, focused on avoiding everyone's gaze. "and... it was..." then he notices how much there is to see, even when hes trying not to look at anything. he frowns. absorbing this much — it feels like a headache, minus the pain itself. overload. "it was him wasnt it. he bit me"
esme and jasper nod, but carlisle and bella just look away, the brunette visibly cringing. edward's jaw tightens, and for some inexplicable reason, the sight of that is what makes it all click for him.
"so," he fumbles for a second, but the word comes out so clean and sure when he says it, not at all like he feels. his mouth is physically incapable of tripping over itself like hes used to, no stammer, no stumbling. he grimaces and all the muscles pull exactly like he intends them too. he shakes his head. "he bit me. and? can i assume that's what's got me feeling so weird? the... some sort of effect of the bite?"
bella doesnt answer. neither does carlisle. surprisingly, it's that blonde girl that replies, though not to him.
"show him," she says, and after a moment, esme creeps forward, gesturing for his hand. he hesitates, but takes it. edward shifts to place bella behind him, as if she needs to be protected from him the way charlie protected her from james, a move that breaks his heart. gently, esme maneuvers him over to the bathroom. she turns on the lights, though she didn't really need to. he blinks. red. in the middle of a face with skin more suited to a shelf at a morgue than the tasteful backsplash of the bathroom, framed with dark, curling, concerningly long lashes, his irises were red. that wasn't it, either.
"am i..." he huffed. "am i seeing things, or am i way better looking than usual?"
a ripple of good humor disturbs the room, from esme's warm giggle, to a watery chuckle from bella, to a great, booming crow from emmett.
"way to focus on what's important, chief," alice nods, at the man's back in an instant. she doesn't sound nearly as sarcastic as those words should warrant. "finally, a man after my own heart."
"wait till you try running for the first time," emmett interjects, joining her behind him. "mind, blown."
some of the other family members sigh and shake their heads. charlie runs his eyes along his sharper jaw, still sprinkled with the stubble he'd acquired in the preceding chaos, now even and almost roguish where before hes pretty sure it made him look old and unkempt. he looks younger, he thinks, not young exactly, but good. better than his age.
he pulls away from his reflection, eyes flickering from face to face around him. he might even have said that he fit in with the mythically beautiful family. hes struck by how silly he was to dismiss the strangeness of the gorgeous, antisocial group out of hand, now that he sees how strange he's become himself, before his eyes fall to his daughter.
"im sorry dad" she mumbles, humor evaporating, and a pain resounds like a crack in his chest.
slowly, carefully, he moves forward, and the rest of the vampires stand on high alert as they realize what he's about to do. bella's eyes are bloodshot and he presses his lips together in a bittersweet line as he wraps her in his arms and tucks her close, just under his chin. a shudder runs down his spine as a phantom pain ghosts over his shoulder, but he brushes it aside and it evaporates like water. when he breathes in, she smells the way she always has, and he is not hungry.
"it's okay, kiddo. we'll get through this. im just glad you're okay."
and they do. charlie's vampiric powers are related to shielding, like his daughter, but his are more like putting things on mute, if that makes sense. small things, obviously, and usually physical. he's got a great deal more resistance to thirst than most newborns, for example, because it's muted by his powers, particularly for those he cares about. unfortunately this makes it likelier for him to, uh, die of thirst, as it's possible for him to forget to feed. and he can't block edward from hearing his thoughts completely, but they're muffled naturally by his powers (and always will be. hes not helping anyone into his head any time soon, especially not his daughter's boyfriend). he can also mute his own scent to the shapeshifters — which means he and billy, after things are all sorted, will still be able to hang out and be best friends!! he can also mute his own footsteps,
anyways this started as a meme post intending to go into how comedic it would be if charlie got changed and bella spent the rest of the series complaining that edward wanted to spend the rest of eternity with her father but not with her but then i got struck with some mad charlie feels and this happened so anyways vampire!charlie everyone @charlieswanismyrealdad @effervescent-emmett @cullen-trash @emmettmccartycullen @jaspell @leahclearwaterdefensesquad is this anything

You and JJ hadn’t spoken a word to each other after what had happened. You’d just laid silently in his bed, listening to each other’s heavy breaths as you got your heartbeat to slow down from your previous endeavours.
“So what does this mean?” JJ was the first to break the silence as he rolled over to look up at you.
“Uh- i’m not sure, do you want this to mean something?” you hesitantly asked moving down a little so you were at eye level with each other.
“Yeah I do, but I think I may need some time to get over you and Rafe- I just can’t get the image of you two together out of my head”
That sentence made your blood boil, even if you wanted to get back together you weren’t about to let him blame you for everything that went wrong in your relationship.
“JJ are you being serious right now? It’s not like I cheated on you, we were broken up when I kissed Rafe!” you chided getting out of the bed, covering your naked body with his bed sheets.
“I don’t care and I wouldn’t have minded it as much if it had been anyone but Rafe! He’s made all of our lives living hells for the last year- I mean he nearly cost Pope his job! So it’s not because you made out with someone it’s who it was with!” JJ snapped back getting out of bed after you, quickly pulling on his boxers.
“You’re such an asshole! I don’t even know how I thought of getting back together with you!” you retorted hastily walking around the room in an attempt to find your clothes.
Once you finally managed to get fully dressed you went to unlock the door but JJ pulled you back before you could leave.
You quickly snatched your hand out of his grasp not giving him a chance to talk “give me a call once you’ve decided to stop being a self absorbed asshole” you grumbled slamming his bedroom door shut in his face.
You stormed out of the chateau still adjusting your clothes, when Kiara pulled into the driveway with Pope and John B, perfect timing.
“Hey-“ Pope started but was cut off by you crashing into his shoulder as you stormed past your three clueless friends.
“What was that about” Pope questioned turning to Kiara and John B who stood there, bewildered at your sudden outburst.
“Fuck” Kiara mumbled once she remembered the reason you’d been here in the first place, practically running into the chateau to find JJ.
“What the hell happened!?” Kiara shrieked as she pushed open the door into JJ’s room who just shook his head and let himself fall down onto his mattress.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” he shrugged her off not bothering to look up at her.
“Don’t give me that bullshit JJ, I drove Y/N here earlier so you two could make up and then I see her practically crying running out of here so what happened!”
“It didn’t work out alright! We’re not getting back together and we’re not gonna be friends again, okay!?”
“was that your decision or hers?” Kiara countered.
“Hers! or- I mean I just told her that it would take time to get over the thing with Rafe and she just lost it!”
“JJ are you kidding me? You dated her for a bet and she was able to forgive you for that and you’ve got the audacity to be mad at her for something she did when you were broken up! Come on JJ you’re better than that”
“But its Rafe-“ Kiara quickly cut him off.
“I know! Do you think I like the fact she chose him of all guys to be with? But she was hurting because she thought that the guy she really wanted was only with her for money, you both need to sort your shit out because this is getting really tiring for all of us” she spoke gesturing towards her, Pope and John B who stood in silence behind her clearly taken aback by her words.
JJ scoffed not bothering to respond simply pulling a shirt over his head and walking past the three pogues towards the front door.
“You’re just gonna leave?” Kiara chided following after him “yeah I am” he replied coldly before slamming the door shut in her face.
Tears were furiously running down your cheeks as you walked the road down the cut that lead to figure 8.
Deciding to walk home maybe hadn’t been the brightest idea you had, it was so hot you thought you were going to pass out but you refused to spend another minute with JJ.
A sudden honk from behind you made you jerk around, only picking up your pace when you saw Wards all to familiar jet black Range Rover, not needing to guess twice as to who was sat in the drivers seat.
“Y/N?” Rafe leaned out the window as he pressed on the break just enough so he was able to drive alongside you.
“Go away” you replied curtly beginning to walk even faster although you knew your chances of outrunning a car were not in your favor.
“Come on Y/N let me drive you home you’re gonna melt out here in this heat” he sounded sincere his eyebrows contorting, silently begging for you to get into the car.
You came to an abrupt halt as you turned to face him arm crossed over your chest. You had two options one walk home in the burning heat which would probably take you around two hours or get into the car with Rafe and have to endure his company for 10 minutes.
You went with the latter huffing before pulling the door handle and getting into the car without a word, although you couldn’t contain the moan that slipped past your lips once the cool air from the AC met your flaming skin.
“Y/N I just wanted to-“ he began but you cut him off raising your index finger towards his face “stop I don’t wanna hear it just drive me home” he nodded obviously disappointed but kept on driving either way.
Once you pulled into your driveway he gave you one last pleading look but you didn’t give him a chance to talk muttering a small thanks before slipping out of the passenger seat and slamming the car door shut in his face.
You were in desparate need of a shower your sweaty skin beginning to stick to the shirt that loosely hung over your body.
You decided to push all thoughts of JJ into the back of your mind as you turned the shower on wanting nothing more than to take back the fact that you’d gone and slept with him.
“Idiot” you mumbled shaking your head the warm water travelling down your body the only comfort you felt you needed right now.
Just as you began to feel the corner of your eyes brim with tears you were startled to hear the bathroom door open.
“What the hell!” you shrieked once you saw Kiara walk in with a large purple backpack slung over her shoulder.
“That door was locked!” you yelled hurriedly grabbing a towel and wrapping it around yourself.
“I know that’s why I have a knife” she deadpanned before placing the silver object she’d obviously stolen from your kitchen on the bathroom counter.
“What do you want Kie?” you huffed finally stepping fully out of the shower and onto the white tiled floor.
“You, me” she lifted up the backpack she’d been holding “and our dear friend vodka”
“I love you” you gushed grabbing the bag out of her hands and walking into your bedroom gently placing it on your bed.
“What’s the occasion?” you turned to face her “the occasion is a party down at the cut” she smiled sitting down on your bed unzipping the bag revealing the numerous amount of white claws and the huge bottle of vodka.
“God are you trying to kill me? you know i’m a lightweight” you gaped at the numerous beverages but still grabbed a white claw quickly opening it and taking a large sip.
“Who said any of this was for you” she raised an eyebrow an amused smile playing at her lips “shut up” you laughed.
“You owe me this whole thing is your fault” you took another sip out of the can before it was harshly ripped away from you the liquid spilling all over your arm.
“Oh so it’s my fault you hooked up with Rafe” Kiara placed a hand on her hip as she held the white claw up with her other hand.
“No” you snatched the drink back before continuing “it’s your fault that I went to JJ’s which ultimately led to the decision of me sleeping with him and making a complete fool of myself in the progress”
“Fair enough” she surrendered “get ready we need to be down at the beach in half an hour”
Once you’d made it down to the beach you’d already downed four white claws and three shots the alcohol running through your veins making you feel dizzy as you walked alongside Kie towards the crowd of teenagers all packed together around the keg watching as a girl you didn’t recognised stood in a handstand downing the beer without a struggle.
“I could do that” you slurred Kiara’s head turning in the direction you were looking “no you couldn’t” she chuckled dragging you towards John B and Pope who looked beyond shocked to see you.
“Y/N?” John B looked almost panicked as he abruptly stood up his eyes frantically beginning to dart all over the beach before stopping and widening as he looked at something behind you.
You turned to where his eyes were directed and you were horrified at the sight before you. There he was none other than JJ Maybank himself with his tongue shoved down some girls throat.
“That asshole!” you practically growled throwing the white claw you held down onto the sand as you made a bee line towards him, Kiara frantically picking up the can before following after you.
“Real classy J” you sneered a scowl resting on your face as you gave him the most disgusted look you could muster.
“Y/N” was all he said as he turned to face you, he didn’t even look sorry.
“So this is your way of trying to repair our relationship” you shot at him and the girl quickly stood up practically running away from the scene unfolding before her.
“Hey i’m just doing what you’ve been doing all along” he replied curtly standing up to face you.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean JJ” you were surprised at your ability to form a whole sentence since you didn’t exactly see straight, but this whole exchange seemed to be sobering you up.
“I saw you earlier getting into that car with Rafe!”
“What? you were following me?”
“Yes! Because I wanted to come and apologise for how I acted but clearly I was right all along!”
“JJ I didn’t ask him for a ride or call him he offered and I accepted because because I didn’t really feel like walking all the way from the cut back home in the burning heat!” a hint of regret washed over his face at your words but you continued “It doesn’t even matter I don’t have to explain myself to you”
He was about to open his mouth and say something but you didn’t give him the chance. “We’re over and this time I mean it”
You suddenly became more aware of the crowd that had begun to gather around you and you quickly turned around pushing your way past the teenagers that were huddled behind you.
“Are you okay?” a frantic voice belonging to Kiara sounded from beside you.
You swallowed the lump that was beginning to form in your throat and turned to face her pasting on a fake smile as you did.
“I’m fine” you knew she didn’t buy it but she could tell from the look in your eyes that you were silently begging her not to press on it any further, you wanted to have fun tonight and you were not going to let JJ get in the way of that.
“Come on let’s get drunk”
