it's my 5th time rewatching it now, with friends this time. and just... the entire ending of s3 enamors me so heavily. it's just this ultimate culmination of the death of innocence.

and it's not bad AT ALL.

the moment Merlin tells Jim "you get the choice to become stronger and be the foe that your villain fears, or you can take your chances as you are. if you stay like this, it's entirely like you'll be killed. and if you change... a part of you is going to die forever."

you just. you immediately know the stakes. i understand that it's quite literally Jim losing his humanity, he becomes a troll, yes. but i equate it so heavily to the loss of his innocence, of his literal human-nature to love and care. because he becomes so animalistic afterwards, it's like watching someone spiral. it's a walking tragedy, especially after you watch the whole show and you can't help but UNDERSTAND WHY he's spiraled so hard.

not to mention, just... the mastercraft of the bathtub scene. it's a sensory overload of every single reason Jim wants to stay human, but at the same time, it's the EXACT reason needs to turn in order to protect all of those he holds dear.

and not just that, the fucking... the deliberate framing. he's alone, locked himself in a room. there's a phone ringing on the counter, but he can't hear it and he refuses to look. he's just sitting there, quietly, going back and forth constantly to decide what to do. his whole family and friends are beating on the door, trying to get to him, but he just won't listen.

the fact that they bleed Anton Yelchin's lines into Emile Hirsch's at times, as if it's a moment of saying goodbye to the previous voice actor. like a passing of the torch. it's almost symbolic of everything he's going to do going forward: letting his humanity, his entire self, die.

i swear, barely any shows i know these days can evoke emotions like that. where the visual metaphor of someone committing suicide is so powerful that you have to just reach out constantly and beg and hope and pray that he will turn around and open the door instead.

it's hopeless incarnate. it's the death of innocence. it's watching the quiet death of someone who just wants to better for the people around him.

it's so fucking painful, but it's god-tier story-telling and animation. i can't even imagine how they managed to write that all down.

OK A BREAKDOWN OF LES MISERABLES IN FRANCE

- they changed a lot of the lyrics (including my fav/funniest lyrics unfortunately) which was pretty interesting ; honestly i think it's a great thing bc it was last re-written in 1991 and they made the songs more textual, more like real talking and i think way more accessible for a lot of people (bc in france we have this habit of writing pretty words, with a lot of images and lyrical phrases but it's not always helping to understand the plot yknow)

- the new lyrics for do you hear the people sing/à la volonté du peuple are SO GOOD ! originally it says :

à la volonté du peuple/et à la santé du progrès/rempli ton cœur d'un vin rebelle/et à demain ami fidèle

and idk i think it's pretty freaking cool; but i'll do a big breakdown of the new lyrics of do you hear the people sing bc it's the song they changed the most and i think it's way better for our times and more hopeful and giving the will to fight

- the stage: honestly real cool and clever! it's a smaller stage, way smaller than the west end one if my memories are not mistaken, and we obvisouly don't have the rotating stage; but they played a lot with moving structures and transparent curtains to make special effect like buildings, rain, etc... and it's way real cool !

- idk who the sound guy was but props to him cause the sound was SO GOOD like it sounded so clean and like listening to an album, truly perfect on this aspect

- the actors were GREAT, you could see they rlly took the roles and made them their own (i think enjolras' actor loves his role bc ive seen some of his tiktok and he looks like he loves it a lot so that's cool af)

- also i bough this

One day the guys from Purgatory hall invited MC to have a movie night with them to which they happily agreed. So after dinner they acknowledged the brothers of their leave and hurried to Purgatory hall.

Right there in front of the entrance was Solomon, looking through one of his notebooks that are filled with magic circles and curses. You chuckle to yourself and approach him.

MC: Solomon! I'm here!

The sorcerer lifted his head upon hearing your voice and offered you a smile.

Solomon: You finally arrived! Luke insisted I come out here to wait for you as soon as possible causing me to wait for about 20 minutes..

MC: It isn't my fault! I was having dinner! Plus I needed to let Lucifer know I'd be with you guys.

Solomon: I never said it was your fault. Now come on. I'd imagine Luke is getting impatient right now.

You nod and Solomon escorts you into the building, leading you to the living room. There You saw Luke and Simeon chatting on the couch. Upon seeing you Luke's eyes widen and he runs up to you. He wraps his arms around you in a hug.

Luke: MC! You came!

Simeon chuckles and walks over to both you and Luke, patting the little angel's head.

Simeon: Now now, Luke. There is no need to get so excited.

Simeon moves his gaze away from Luke and looks at you.

Simeon: Welcome, MC.

MC: Thank you, Simeon.

You look around and see blankets and cushions prepared on the couch as well as different kinds of snacks on the coffee table.

MC: I see you guys have made quite the preparation.

Luke: Yeah! See all the sweets there? I made them myself with a bit of help from Simeon.

Solomon: I also prepared a little something!

Your and Luke's eyes widen. The angel looks at Simeon with a worried look who nods and clears his throat.

Simeon: You did, Solomon? They must've disappeared somehow. I never saw them again after you made them...

Luke sighs in relief and pulls you to sit next to him on the couch.

Solomon: Really? That's a shame.. I made them exactly to MC's liking.. I'm sorry, MC.

You smile and shake your head.

MC: secretly thanking Simeon for throwing them away Dont worry about it. It's fine.

All of a sudden the doorbell rings and you look towards the door in curiosity.

MC: Are you guys expecting anyone?

Simeon: Oh yes! We invited Lord Diavolo and Barbatos as well. We forgot to tell you.

MC: That's awesome! The more the merrier!

Solomon: Precisely.

Solomon walks up to the door and opens it, inviting Diavolo and Barbatos in.

MC: Hi, Diavolo! Hi, Barbatos!

Diavolo and Barbatos: Hello, MC.

Simeon: So now that we're all here what should we watch?

Solomon: A horror movie maybe?

Luke: N-no! I don't like horror movies!!

Barbatos: Then perhaps we could watch a documentary?

Diavolo: These are quite boring in my opinion, Barbatos... What do you think?

Barbatos: Whatever you say, My Lord.

Simeon: Then maybe we should watch this?

Simeon points at a movie on the screen that everyone seems to agree on.

Solomon: Let's watch this then.

Barbatos: Would that be to your liking, My Lord?

Diavolo: Most definitely!

And so Solomon clicks play and the movie begins. As the storyline progresses everyone is watching intensely. Though soon enough when a new character appears on screen everyone gasp in shock.

Luke: MC, MC! Look! That actor looks like you!!! Look!!

You look at the screen and chuckle.

MC: That's because the actor is me, Luke.

Luke: Wait really?!? You're staring in the movie??

Diavolo: excited MC! That's splendid! Congratulations! I've heard many good things about this movie! I had no idea you are one of the actors! Maybe I should promote it to the entire Devildom so everyone knows what a great actor this movie has!

Barbatos: There is no need for something like this, My Lord. The movie is already well-known throughout the entire Devildom. Congratulations, MC. The Young Master is very proud of you and if I dare say I am as well.

MC: Thank you!

Simeon: Yes! That's wonderful, MC!

Solomon: It sure is! Do you plan on continuing your acting career, MC?

MC: Well I haven't really thought about it.

Diavolo: Make sure to give it some thought. If you u decide to take things on tell me and I'll find you a place in the industry.

Luke: You'd make for an amazing actor, MC! You should definitely continue acting!

Simeon: I agree with Luke here, MC. Though know that we aren't persuing you. We'd support whatever decision you make.

Barbatos: Of course we will, Simeon. Oh and MC make sure to mention that to Lucifer and his brothers. I'm pretty sure they'd be particularly interested.

MC: I will, Barbatos. And thank you, guys!

And so the movie night continues. You made sure to flip a joke or two on your acting skills from time to time while the others didn't miss an opportunity to compliment your acting. Overall the night was full of great memories and laughter.

Bonus: Luke accidentally fell asleep by the end of the movie sense it was way past his bedtime. And in the morning he was very grumpy for missing the ending.

THIS IS MY LIKES AND DISLIKES OF CHAOS THEORY ⚠️Spoilers below cut⚠️

When i first finished this season, I too like some people, was skeptical about it. I get why some people say its bad, I just thought it was very different from cc. At points the characters didin't feel like themsleves, the way some of them were written and the designs gave me a real hard time to get used to them. Also i felt as if it was just too much to process at times so i rewatched it and my final answer is that its a good show the pacing is incredeble, the plot, the suspence and character development. i just had a hard time getting used to everything new? Ig. I'm still doubting whether its a 10 but sure thing is that it was a very good first season its a easy 9/10. So here are the thinks i liked abt it:

-THE WAY THEY POTRAYED EVERYONES TRAUMA/STRUGGLES , Sammy having anxiety, Yaz overcoming her ptsd, and KENJI. MY BOY. That must have been the best breakdown i've seen in animated series. Whoever wrote that scene. Wow. It was the best thing in the whole show honestly. His vision gtting blurry, having truble breathing. The panick. Wow. I CANNOT SAY THIS LOUD ENOUGH.

-Ben and Sammy duo? Hello? Im srry to say but you might just be better than Yaz and Ben duo. Idk i really loved them.

- "Benjamin."

- Showing Yaz is doing better. Despite her ongoing struggles, she has clearly grown and matured the last 6 years, and the way she calmed Sammy in the sinking van? Ig all those therapy sessions and college paid off. That scene is a clear illustration of the progress she has made. I mean sammy did say "i can tell shes still struggling" but there wasnt really a clear scene of her getting stuck in place as she used to. So my guess is that it was just Sammys anxiety and the fact that they didint talk much. Bc then Sammy was surprised how she kept herselve together. So yeah

-YASAMMY. NOTHING MORE TO ADD.

-UM SAMMYS CHARACTER?? HELLO? GLOW UP, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, i loved her sm. She moved up to my top 3.

And her anxiety? It was so well shown too

-the fight between Sammy and Yaz felt so natural and not at all forced. They both had valid points and in the end they did understand each other and were on the same page.

-Ben being Ben in almost every episode

- Yasmina's "boo."

-Brooklynns design?? Majestic to say the least.

- ingore what i said ealrier abt the acting out of character. They do remind themsleves they just grew

Well, all except Ben...

-Kenjis new voice actor, he did a real good job, as much as it doesn't sound like him, he really captured some emotional scenes very well.

- The robot lady. THEY REALLY SAID TAKE A WOMAN AND MAKE HER CREEPY ASF. I was genunanly creeped out. And the detail that at the ranch if u listen closesly u can hear the whistle. Hell nah that was scary.

-Benrius Ben and Darius friendship, okay actually u can't tell me u didint feel it too, the tention between ben and Darius cmon we all know what u are Ben stop making up girlfriends in Europe

-Brooklynn turning bad, or from what we are told worked for bad people ig. Personally as much as it shocked me, im sure theres a good reason as to why and i cant wait to hear more abt in season 2.

-I can now undertand what everyone meant in reviews saying "its more mature" not only in the more death and dinos but it woyud be kind of confusing for a younger audience to undertsand some stuff in this show.

-I really liked Daniels kon death, maybe it wasn't necesarry but im all in for that dark death scene.

-Lastly the comment Sammy makes when Ben asks how bumpy got pregnant, and the yazs smirk. Gurl i was suprised they added that but i loved it

Now, the things that i didint like and why:

- First of all, Darius being in love with brooklynn. I mean i get it but i also dont get it. In my opinion, there shouldn't have been a different reason as to why Darius was the most effected by her death. They were close and she died. Its okay to be really effected by someones death and not bc u liked them, and i also do believe that the reason for him not showing up the night she "died" should have been smth more serious. Then again i get it bc now he felt a lot more guilt bc it was for a not so important reason he didint show up and thats why he didint tell anyone. Well axtually it isnt that bad, but i just felt it was forced for the plot. This again could be bc i started to like kenlynn and now they turned the tables completly but sure.

-Brooklynns voice actor. I just couldn't connect her to brooklynn? She sounded a lot different, not a major bad thing it was just hard to get used to.

-Ben having a gf, or supposedly having one, u telling me this man has a gf:

I thought it funny but yk that man is a homosexual

- and lastly, Brooklynn being alive. This might sound bad but it made sense for her to die. And i was kinda lamed out that she wasnt dead. (Pls ironically enough, just weeks ago i begged for her to be alive.) But like the way everyone suffered bc of her death, going throught the 5 stages of grief, and the way the show was played. It just would have been better if she died, all those flashbacks, the emotional moments, i mean its not gonna be the same when i rewatch it bc i know shes alive. Anyways enough abt this.

Actually i have nothing more to add to my "bad stuff" list but i might come up with smth later. Bc i will be rewatchibg it obviously. Ig lastly i just wanted more episodes how dare they cutting the season of right there.

Hi Von! Dropping in to say that you are absolutely incredible.

I could never imagine how hard it is to do a project of this scale basically completely yourself, save for the voice actors and people who help with editing. It takes a level of dedication, responsibility, and patience that many people do not have. Whenever I mention Tetro to my friends (which happens quite a lot), the moment I mention you and go on a spiel of everything you do, they're all stunned.

What I'm getting at is that you're so talented, strong, and just an all-around powerhouse. Tetro is such an amazing and interesting series, and I commend you for being able to finish it and start a second season. Not only me, but the entire community. The fact that you and your staff get treated with disrespect is so shocking to me. It has not only some of the best voice acting I've seen in a while, but also some of the best writing and representation of disabilities I've seen. You and your staff deserve as much love and appreciation as physically possible from the community that follows you. I do hope that the good outweighs the bad, because you already work so hard that the added stress of fans who harass you is something I don't even want to imagine. You also deserve as much rest as possible.

You don't have to answer this ask. Ever. But please let this serve as a reminder that the community appreciates everything you do for them. It's okay to take as many breaks as you need. You're an incredible writer, artist, voice actor, director and creator.

the positive response to tetro definitely outweighs the negative, which is something im definitely trying to get better with accepting instead of focusing way too hard on one or two people who arent enjoying it. im also learning to accept that just because someone doesnt like something doesnt mean that something is BAD, regardless of whether or not they say it is. just because people dont like my writing doesnt mean my writing is bad (not that it would matter if it was bad either way, as im only doing this for fun!)

im really really grateful for the level of support people have shown me and going forward into the new year im going to try and be better with letting criticism roll off my back - this is my passion project and at the end of the day, my opinion on it is the only one that matters. im the only person who knows my intentions in every line, im the only person who poured myself into writing it, im the only person who has any sort of obligation to tetro. if others like it, im glad! but its not the end of the world if they dont

Love love love this opening scene I LOVE COLETTE AND EISENS RELATIONSHIP SO MUCH. Colette’s little “If you say so” SO VICIOUS!!!! LOVE HER!!!!! And also at 2:40 I rlly love the bells in the background. The very faint bells I JUST LOVE LITTLE AUDIO DETAILS LIKE THAT It makes the space feel so real (EDIT: YOU FUCKING GENIUS MEG YOU FUCKING GENIUS. I love how sassy and grandstanding Colette has become over the past 3 seasons. Like w Eisen and Telesphore, she’s comfortable enuff to hold her own (just in a self assuring way) and I LOVE HER. She holds her own when she doesnt wanna deal w front of house work anymore. I fucking love you Colette. I love how everyone has gradually changed over the show which.... I know is integral to like…. writing characters..... but KINGMAKER DOES IT SO WELL!!!!!!!

Remember when I said I wasn't gonna post fanfics? I lied. I'm gonna post just this one as an excuse to have some Johnshi in my life but also because its rare I write a fic that isnt a self indulgent oc fic

This is just a lil fic where Kenshi comforts Johnny after a stunt on set leaves him with an injured ankle, mostly cute banter. Also sorry if the formatting looks weird, i dont normally post fics to tumblr so idk how to space my paragraphs like I do on google docs.

The Hollywood actor carried himself on his crutches across the room, from the door to his living room couch, where he saw Kenshi waiting in anticipation.

“Honey, I'm home,” Johnny announced in a parody of those old movies, how he loved his dumb movie references.

“Doesn't sound like good news. Are those crutches?” Kenshi asked, judging by the sound and the patterns of the sound. Though he usually relied on Sento for sight, he hardly ever felt the need to in a casual setting, so it rested in the mantle above the fireplace.

“Yeup. Doc says I'll need ‘em for a few weeks, a month at most.”

Kenshi crossed his arms and leaned back on the couch. “Was that stunt still worth it?”

Johnny snorted, “Totally, the shot came out perfect! You may not know this, but I do all of my own stunts. Impresses everybody when I tell them that!” He dropped a small paper bag of his prescribed painkillers on the coffee table and sat next to Kenshi, wincing as he lifted his ankle to rest it on the same table.

“Aren't stuntmen used so the real actors don't get hurt?”

“I mean- yeah. But don't worry, they're just gonna film everything else until I come back, which should be in no time. I'm just built different.”

Kenshi could just hear the cocky smile, causing him to shake his head in disbelief, but he couldn't hold back the small bit of laughter at Johnny’s pride and confidence. “Alright, but it looks like it's my turn to take care of you again.”

“Don't sweat it, Ken doll, I can take care of myself. You've already helped me enough, and you've got yourself to look after,” He noted all too seriously. Obviously there still rested some guilt in his heart over Mileena's rabid attack that day.

“That ankle needs to rest. That movie needs you and you need the money from it.” Undeniable. Johnny was still getting back on his feet (not literally now) after a messy and expensive divorce, he needed whatever work he could get at the moment. “You just let me know when you need something.”

Johnny sighed as he looked down at his injured ankle. These next few weeks were going to be the most boring while of his life.

Kenshi seemed to know Johnny wasn't feeling so good by the sudden quietness, not even a silly request from his offer. When Johnny of all people was quiet, there was a problem. “Johnny? You alright?”

“Yeah… I've just never been good at sitting still and doing nothing, you know? Now I can't even use my own pool in my living room,” He complained, as if having a pool in the living room was a normal thing.

“Come on, Johnny, you still have a whole mansion. Unless your attention span really is that small, you're not gonna get bored,” Kenshi lovingly poked at him. “It’s not like you're alone either.”

Johnny noded with a small smile of comfort. “That's right, I've got you, my best friend, boyfriend, and assigned FBI agent,” Johnny joked. Gods, not again with the assigned FBI agent meme. “And hey, maybe we can invite Kung Lao and Raiden over to hang out. You think Liu Kang would wanna drop by?”

Kenshi gave an amused smirk. “Probably not, but Kung Lao, might.”

Johnny looked down at the table again, spotting a marker. He groaned and wheezed as he leaned over to grab it, trying not to move his ankle off the table as his finger tips barely touched the marker.

“Johnny what are you-” Before he could finish his question, he felt a marker tapping against his hand.

“You wanna be the first to sign my cast?” Johnny offered, trying to play it off cool but his excitement was slipping past in his voice.

“You mean Hollywood’s megastar wants my autograph?” Kenshi teased. He took the marker into his hand, and Johnny guided his hand down to his cast. Confidently, Kenshi began writing his name.

“Not bad writing for someone who can't really see,” Johnny complimented, meaning it obviously and trying to make it sound like that rather than a mockery.

“I still know the motions of writing, that's enough to get by.” Of course Johnny hadn't seen Kenshi's messier writing at his job and maybe it should stay that way.

The real surprise was the small heart he drew right below his own name. Kenshi wasn't so into PDA, nor into cutesy stuff like that, so it caught Johnny off guard to see the small display. It wasn't like people didn't know they were dating, Johnny was way too into showing off their love and too loud to keep that secret, but it was rather that Kenshi was a more subtle lover when it came to their relationship, preferring to keep things behind doors. Johnny snickered, meaning Kenshi was right. “Okay, you got me, but how can I not show you off? You're the coolest! A blind swordsman? Dating Hollywood's biggest hit? We're like a power couple!”

If Kenshi still had his eyeballs, he'd be lovingly rolling them, but admittedly it was kind of cute seeing how enthusiastic Johnny was about their relationship- and kind of funny to think about considering they were previously rivals over Sento.

Kenshi leaned in to press a kiss to Johnny's cheek, and he could feel the wrinkles of a smile under his lips. “Looks like you're feeling better about that ankle.”

“As long as I have you by my side, this injury is gonna be a breeze!” Now it was Johnny's turn to lean in, this time leaning to rest his head on Kenshi with closed eyes and a content smile. Kenshi reciprocated by wrapping an arm around Johnny to hold him. “Shit, that medicine they gave me is starting to catch up.”

“You get sleepy off of a couple Tylenols,” Kenshi playfully quipped, making Johnny laugh.

“Just saying it's a good excuse to nap on you! Unless you're gonna tele-fling me to bed again.”

Kenshi shook his head. “Maybe when your ankle isn't as broken. Right here is fine, just keep your ankle up.”

“Sweet,” Johnny happily murmured as he felt himself starting to doze off. Damn, Tylenol really did knock him out.

Hey katy, katy hear me out. So actor hobie gets casted in this big horror film, he gets to play the role of the slasher. The main character though (reader) plays obviously the protagonist and it can be like similar to scream like the horror movie- but! Hobie and reader havent ever officially met or done a movie together and the first time they see each other they immediately have a click as costars and maybe more? They build a very close friendship even with the roles of killer and victim on the set, and maybe they fall in love era? I dont know my minds thinking of a good slasher film and characters rn

Imagine the first time you met actor! Hobie is in full costume complete with mask blood and all the jazz and you're super intimidated bc he's so tall and imposing and the way he acts has you screaming for real not just for the cameras but you were genuinely scared of him. But the moment the scene wraps and he saunters over to you, taking his mask off in the process, his smile practically blinds you and his voice? Ohhh he's got you stuttering and tumbling over your words. It's safe to say you're not scared of him anymore because he's so nice and makes you feel comfortable on set but the moment the cameras start rolling again your stomach flips and now you're actually (acting) running for your life but you find it hard to hide the lopsided smile on your lips bc of your new found crush

Kamen Rider Zero-One Liveblog Analysis! Episodes 6-16 + Reiwa: The First Generation and... the c*mic

Aaand we're back! If you haven't read the first part where i cover episodes 1-5 i recommend doing so! That's where you'll find all information about this series of mine. Link:

Today ill be talking about how the titular list of stories continues the topics introduced in 1-5 and addresses new things previously unsaid

Ill just jump right into it

Topic 1: The Place Of Artificial Intelligence In Society:

Lets start by looking at how Humagears are used in these episodes

Episode 6: "I Want to Hear Your Voice" is easily the most interesting of the ones im covering today in this regard. In this episode, a father creates a humagear voiceactress in the image of his deceased daughter. A LOT TO UNPACK THERE. Firstly, voice acting and desecration of the dead. There is a lot of talk about how AI can replace people in regards to content creation, and just recently an explosion of AI youtubers has happened where people create fake ai generated personas with exaggerated character to make videos for them, as well as cases where people's voices have been used for pretty major projects, most notably, a family using their dead son's voice and imagery to have him forgive his murderer instead of saying what they think themselves (yes, im not joking look it up) as a well as the voice actor of Darth Vader signing off the rights to his voice to Disney, leading to a "living, thinking" Darth Vader AI in fortnite.

I think the stance of morality here is pretty clear: only turn someone into an AI model if they are fine with it, and that replacing a living content creator with AI is pretty grim. Whats Zero-One's take on this? Well, firstly, you cannot make humagears using someone imagery just because you felt like. As Fuwa says, there is an entire law for it. "Article VI of the Special Artificial Intelligence Act states the creation and usage of an artificially intelligent humanoid robot with someone's likeness without their express permission, is prohibited." Basically how modern law does it. The father making a humagear in place of his daughter is portrayed as a bad thing and unhealthy coping mechanism.... same cant be said about the rest. The episode has no problem with AI voice acting, and its never said that this humagear is here purely to replace someone while they're ill or something. Even worse, the episode concludes with the father making a chatbot with his dead daughter's voice, with the message being that this is healthy coping mechanism..... i.... mmm... a lot to unpack there again. Firstly, this is going back to that "family using their dead relative's imagery and voice" thing. It would be fine if it was said the daughter gave permission to use her voice, but thats never stated, so one can only assume the father is doing this without her permission. Addintionally this says that talking to chatbots is a good alternative to seeking therapy.... uhh... with how easy it is to just make and talk to ai versions of characters now... this aged. sure aged.

Alright, lets cover what the other episodes say:

Episode 7: "I Am the Hot-Blooded Humagear Teacher!" talks about the place of AI in the education system. This is interestingly the first time the show thinks a middle class, minimum wage job that doesnt involve art shouldnt be replaced by AI! We never see humagear teachers anywhere in the school. Its directly stated that humagears are only used where teachers are unable to fill in, such a club that the teachers dont have the energy to manage. Id say this is pretty good! No jobs are being replaced and humans are valued and respected! 2 episodes about the place of AI now that imo have aged fantastically!

Episodes 8-9 and the comic all touch on how AI can be used in the medical field. Once again, the situation is pretty good! Humagears are shown performing 3 things: assisting human doctors, patients, and performing extremely complex surgeries. This is pretty accurate to how medical technology is used and developed today! Moreover, they explain why we see more humagears than humans working in hospitals: hospitals are simply understaffed. The humagears are taking the place of blank positions until the issue is resolved. Something can be said about how nothing is being done about the actual understaffing of hospitals and that this is a real issue we have... but i think Zero-One does this topic well enough. Also, TRIVIA! The Cluster cells (the MCH ones) are primarily used in Zero-One in the medical and infrastructive field! Pretty cool lore addition from the comic (and it's only redeeming quality)

Episode 10 shows that Humagears are now used as actors in movies. Not much to say here. A lot of what i said previously applies here

Reiwa: The First Generation: We get a pretty interesting line from Korenosuke Hiden. Its confirmed that he created humagears as a way of ending manual labour... Given that he never proposes a solution to where the humans would go without jobs... ehhhh

Addintionally, the movie addresses the fact an AI uprising is very much possible. Aruto's dad decides to rise against the humans who mistreat humagears, so humagears can smile. Ark rises against humanity because.... we'll get to that. Point being, an AI uprising will happen because we, the humans, did it to ourselves, regardless of what intentions we had and how malicious the AI uprising's goals will be

At this point its important to mention that Zero-One is not trying to make a statement about how *real* AI should be used. Its showing an ideal society of sorts, one where we *have* figured out AI. Its why so many problems regarding it are simply not addressed. We are expected to buy into the idea that they have all been solved to some extent. To me this is a very flawed approach, but i cant exactly blame Yuya Takahashi for not writing Zero-One with the future ai boom in mind, and as Gozyuger shows Toei is now strongly against generative AI, so its not like this show made the company take a problematic stance. I critique Zero-One a lot for how it handles ai, but its all done with a retrospective lense, not the lense of "how DARE they be pro AI! YUYA IS THE ENEMY OF SOCIETY!"

Topic 2: Humanity's Potential

Im gonna start off with a group i really didnt talk about before: Metsuboujinrai! Specifically Jin and Assassin Buddy, and how they show that even a killing machine can be used for good. Jin and Assassin Buddy are basically taught by Horobi from birth that humans are the enemy, and that humagears need to stick together as family. When they start to interact with humans though, they slowly grow to realize they arent that bad. Assassin Buddy finds a mentor and father figure he greatly looks up to, Jin sees that humans also have children, just like Horobi has him, and it takes Horobi reprogramming Jin to set him back to being evil. This shows that human nature, our desire to care for each other, affects how others see the world too. If we do good, other people will see it, and want to do good too, and if we teach an AI kindness, it will be kind to us.

This idea of us teaching and inspiring humagears is then present in episode 7 and... a lot of episodes we will get to.

This can have it's negative effects too, however, as seen by the daughter humagear growing to think she IS the dead daughter and talking like she has come back from the dead, telling her father they'll see each other in heaven. So.. teach good... but understand that just because it helps you, doesnt mean its good for others.

Topic 3: Coexistance

This is where we get to the main point of this topic: singularity. Zero-One says that this is the defining thing that makes humagears worthy of being called equals. The moment self awareness is brought up any of Aruto's questions regarding what humagears can and can't do instantly fall away. Once a humagear approaches singularity he refuses to reboot or tamper with them in any way. To him, singularitity means the humagear has become a proper, sentient, living being, and nothing should be done to strip their autonomy. Id argue this the point in the show when Aruto's idea that Humagears can't do certain things humans can completely vanishes. Humagears have hearts, humagears can love and humagears can dream. They have will. To him, that's more than enough. Even Fuwa admits that self aware humagears are a lot like people.

Going back to Metsuboujinrai, we're shown that humagears have a similar idea of family as us. There are parents and there are children who learn from the parents. This is largely because of a Horobi reveal we've yet to get to, but the point still stands. Not all humagears share the same values however. They aren't quite a hivemind, like Reiwa The First Generation originally implies. Humagears learn and change, have their own opinions and can come to different personal conclusions that aren't just based on calculations and logic. This is seen in the voting scene at the end of the movie and the fact Jin and Horobi have very different understandings of what it means to be family. Jin believes a parent should protect and guide their child. Horobi thinks a child should simply obey the parent because they know better.

Independent thought means Humagears are themselves a society. They have their own inner conflicts and issues. And what else is living but grasping with our inherent flaws and bettering ourselves by overcoming them? As i said, I don't believe true artificial intelligence is possible, even if we practically reach humagear levels of robots, but in the fictional world of Zero-One this logic checks out. Bare minimum, if a new society forms, we cannot just genocide them or treat them as lesser. They are beings like us. They have the ability to act like us. So don't poke the hornets nest and start a global conflict between humans and this new species. If you're gonna make an artificial being and lose your ability to control it's existence - don't be a Victor Frankenstein.

This is also why AIMS upholds a law that Humagears reaching singularity should be disposed of. Don't make a new species when we can't even make peace with ourselves

Metsuboujinrai is the prime example of this (Also Ark, but , again, we'll get to that). They are humagears who reached singularitity, and because of the way humagears are treated by society, as tools, they believe humagears are enslaving their species, Ark even saying we are a threat not just for humagears, but life itself. That's their motivation. They want to be free to live and exist on Earth, free of humanity's chains. Like Aruto's dad, they want a world where humagears can smile, but taking it further than him, resorting to terrorism and murder, including of their own kind. If before Jin needed to be reprogrammed to obey Ark, this mission makes him agree with that goal.

This idea of creating an ai that develops and spins out of control is terrifyingly seen in the real world. Korenosuke didn't see humagears as living beings. When Will asks when humagears will get to be happy he basically laughs in his face. (This changed when he created Wazu, but still) Same how we're currently developing an AI that itches closer and closer to independent thought... And we think we'll be able to control it.

Thank you for the ask, it was a TON of fun, even If it took me forever to answer. Also, a little warning, this Post is LONG as HECK and Kind of rambly

Revalink- Ship It!!!!!!!

What made you ship it?

I played Breath of the Wild in 2021 during the lockdown because I was finally bored enough I guess? (Funfact, I actually hated Botw before it came Out, because I was a little hater and didn't Like that the Zelda formula was changing lolol). The important takeaway Here is, that I already knew the Story and all memory cutscenes before I played it. The Other cutscenes Not included were new to me, however.

Revali was the first Champion I ended up saving (revali's gale is the best ability and I needed it for the towers). I was faintly aware of the existence of Revalink but never seriously considered it. Now while I was freeing the Terminals and got Bits and pieces of dialogue I thought that it was funny to interpret Revali having a crush on Link and that being the reason he's so mean to him. And it is funny tbh, but at that Point it was Just a joke to me.

And then came the fight against Wind blight, and oh. The dialogue right before?? The dialogue after?????? I should mention at this point that I played the Game in German, so many translations were different. In english, right before the fight, Revali said something along the lines of "Good luck (...) I only lost because I was winging it" and german He tells Link to be careful ("be careful, you hear me?")(also the delivery of that line, bro, voice actor was Not messing around) This in on itself didn't make me ship it, but it Set the tone.

The scene after the fight when Revali is saved and gives Link His gale... I almost dont know how to Put it into words, but the tension in this Scene? When He Looks at Link as If waiting for him to say something? When He Turns around "nevermind Just Go"??? It feels Like there are so many Things left unsaid, Like There's so much more to be said, even though their relationship is technically wrapped up at this point? It honestly caught me so off guard. Not one Scene with any of the Other Champions has this Kind of tension, Not even mipha (who is a Love interest for Link).

Well, then I went on Tumblr and my fate was basically sealed, lol.

TL:DR: because I played the game

What are your favorite things about the ship?

I Love the Potential of this ship! Theres so many ways how this can be insanely funny (this is one sided rivals to lovers, does it get any better than that?), it can be so incredible sad (death!! Amnesia!! Letting Go!!! One sided!!! Unspoken!!! Not meant to be!!! Lots of Other Things Im forgetting!!)

Its INSANE how Well they Work together, especially since I doubt it was done on purpose.

I have so many more thoughts, but I can't Put them together properly, so I'll leave it at that. The next point is Sort of a continuation of what I Love about this ship anyway

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

The fact that this ship isnt Canon and will/can never be canon is actually one of the best things about it, in my opinion (dont know If its an unpopular opinion)

It fits right in, in a way.

I Love it when two characters are written in a way, were they Sort of complete each other. Where they Share parallels, goals, have opposing personalities that still Match somehow, where they are each Others Drive and Motivation. Where their Stories Just fit so Well together that you know that they were clearly written for each other.

Link and Revali were Not meant to work Well together, Not Like this at least. Of course Revali was written as a foil to Link (correct me If I'm wrong please, I think this was the Case), so them being opposing is intentional.

If you think about these characters for a certain amount of time, Just slightly more in depth, you will find yourself with the revelation that they are so very similar, they would likely be able to be friends If they Just worked through their differences. But they never do! They never have the time/ are too caught Up in pushing others away in their own ways. They could have been something, but never ended Up being.

This ties so nicely into the theme of destiny and fate (kinda.... I feel Like despite setting this Up as a theme, botw doesnt really Go anywhere with it, so it mostly works nicely in fanfiction and such... Although, If you think I missed something about botw, pls let me know. I'm Not an expert on themes)

Theyre doomed by the narrative and the narrative Said they could never be, so they never were (Its kinda fun how that element is true in the real world as Well as in game)(is what I'm getting at)(theyre Not written as Love interests but MAN do they Work as a romantic couple)(cruel, poetic, amazing, ughhh?!???)(them working Well together as a couple was a coincidence, which again, opposes the destiny thing)(this ship has me in a chokehold, can you Tell)

I'm Just saying a bunch of words, I Hope they make sense... I might have also went off the rails a bit... Eh

Hello and welcome to my Ted talk.

Today is 15 de Septiembre, the independence of Mexico (fuck the Spain)(notreally), that means one of the most important partys in all México. In honor of that I wanna talk about one of my favorites villans of rottmnt, Ghost Bear, and how his name is a lot better in the latin spanish dub than the original.

So, this guy is a luchador and I think I don't need to explain what a luchador is. However, I want to explain that luchadores have weird and comical names (as example 'El Mistico' -The Mistic-, 'Cibernetico' -Cibernetic-. You get it). So, Ghost Bear is a good name for a luchador.

Well, in spanish his name is Fantasmoso. If you know some spanish, you may be seen how cool it is.

His name is a joke. A play of words.

Time for spanish class. In México and Latinamerica we like to grab the lenguage and use it as a toy. We create new words, use verbs in the incorrect way, use words in contexts that dont make sense, etc.

So, his name is actually two words into one that sounds like is just one.

First is Fantasma for Ghost

And Oso for Bear

So, Fantasm-Oso.

Now, here comes the part when we have fun. We tent to add suffix to words to make them more, cute or easy to understand, you could say.

We have, fantasm-ita -little ghost-, fantasm-ota -big ghost- AND fantasm-oso -bigger ghost-

And is so cool.

When we hear his name, we hear about a very big ghost, but also a bear, cause he is a bear. We hear a ghost that is a bear, a very big one. Is all his character in one word and is so funny.

Fanstasmoso stands for both, ghost and bear, but also the fact that he is a giant man. I like it so much 💕. And his voice actor is just -chef kiss-

Final thoughts (yes even more):

THIS IS SUCH A WONDERFUL PROYECT!!! Clown i love you !! and everyone in the team!!! there is so much new content, and you made physical things!!! and there's audios now that really bring evrything to life!!! The banners are so great! All the bugs are so colorful and fun! You rearranged so much! The pixel art is adorable!!! thank you so much for this wonderful experience, will definitely have to go through everything again just to admire it more (and of course check for more hidden little things)

I dont mean to be rude, but why are you so against Henry being George? in the audition tapes "Betty" that you admit is probably patty, is seen interacting with George the whole time, in his tape, he only interacts with her too, and in the promo shots Louis is always with Ella, so what would be your explanation for that? I know we will know everything in exactly one month but I always see you saying that and it's been bothering me, im just really curious, could you explain?

Hey there, anon! No worries about being rude at all, I’m more than happy to explain and clarify! <3

So, it’s not really a matter of me being “against” Henry being George- it’s simply a matter of me thinking that the evidence doesn’t fully support him being George. It’s like. I’m not *against* the idea that dragons exist and are secretly living underground in cool dragon cities- hell, I’d love that! But I don’t see the evidence to support said underground dragons, and the same applies for George being Henry.

So, I’ve talked in a bunch of posts about why I don’t think that George is Henry, but I’m going to summarize the main reasons right here for you:

1.) The Ages

This collider article talked about TFS leaks & the fact that Patty had romantic feelings for George:

And that article describes both Patty and George as being at least 14 years old.

And when we look at the audition tapes, we can see that Patty is at least 15 years old, because she mentions that the confession booth has been her hiding place for the past 15 years:

However, Henry Creel is canonically 12 years old:

And even if you don’t think that the newspapers are reliable/somehow think that’s a production error, THIS is not a 15 year old boy- even his actor was 12 at the time:

So, this means that in order for Henry to be George, they’re either a.) going to do a romance between a 15+ year old girl and a 12 year old boy, which would be like S1 Nancy dating S1 Dustin for context & I think that’s extremely unlikely or b.) they’re retconning Henry’s canon age in the play/ignoring canon, which makes absolutely no sense and is extremely unlikely because the play has been confirmed repeatedly to be canon:

So, unless they REALLY pull some timeline weirdness with Henry’s age, there’s not really any possible way for him to be George AND for the play to be canon- unless they have a 15+ year old dating a 12 year old, which I really don’t think they’ll do.

2.) The Personality

George is absolutely nothing like Henry personality- wise. Based on what we see in the audition tapes, George is snarky and opinionated, whereas Henry, as a child, is shy and silent.

George is a loner, much like Henry, but that also fits with Allen Munson (who we’ll come back to later), and being a loner also applies to characters like Hopper, and even Bob- being a loner isn’t something unique to Henry. Hell, even being a “pale, moody, new kid loner,” like the description from that Collider article isn’t unique to Henry. That could apply to both Allen and Lonnie.

George snarks about Betty being “prom queen,” and dramatically tells her “that’s your cue”- you have to watch the audition tapes to see/hear what I mean, but the way he speaks and the way his lines are written is such a far cry from Henry- hell, Henry doesn’t even talk that way/his dialogue isnt written that way when he’s giving a dramatic monologue in the show in 1979- and Henry as a child is silent every time we see him and doesn’t have any of the same mannerisms as George.

3.) The “Powers”

Something that people love to cite as evidence that George is Henry is the idea that George has powers based on some of his scenes in the auditions. However, those scenes are actually great evidence that George isn’t Henry, because when you watch those scenes, the way George describes what’s going on is polar opposite to the way Henry describes his powers & the way we see Henry’s powers working.

George, for example, talks about hearing voices in his head telling him to do bad things/hurt people- something that Henry never mentions, not even during his 1979 monologue. George also seems to be afraid of his supposed powers, whereas Henry seems to see them as something natural/as a tool/as part of him realizing that it was other people who were broken, not him.

I actually think that the voices that George is hearing are the result of that weird radio broadcast that’s supposedly killing people that’s mentioned in TFS. And I think that his experience with Patty/seemingly seeing eachother in the void/teleporting/whatever that was is far more likely to be tied to Patty having powers, especially with all of Patty’s El parallels (the scenes where Patty talks about her mother), and with how frequently articles about TFS talk about how important Patty is going to be to the plot:

So, again, it’s not a matter of “oh I really HATE the idea of Henry being George, so I’m going to pretend it’s not true even though it is,” it’s instead a matter of “if Henry is George, I’m fine with it, I’m just really not convinced that he Is George & am somewhat frustrated by people acting like it’s confirmed that he’s George when it’s not confirmed at all and when there’s multiple aspects of George that don’t align with Henry & contradict Henry’s canon lore such as the age stuff”

Also, I’ve never denied that Patty and Henry are going to have scenes together- I figured they’d have scenes together even before the audition tapes, because they have that parallel at the Crele house window vs the church window in the TFS animated teaser trailer! And Louis and Ella being together isn’t really something that I need to explain, because I’ve literally never denied that Henry and Patty are going to have scenes together & all of my analysis re: Henry and George and Patty has been done with the assumption that Henry and Patty are going to interact frequently regardless of who George is. Now, like I talked about in this post, regardless of whether Henry is George or not, I don’t think that Henry and Patty are going to be a romantic couple. My thing is that I simply don’t agree that it’s firm/clear-cut that Henry is George. Me not agreeing that Henry is George doesn’t mean that I think that Henry and Patty won’t interact- it simply means that I don’t think that the George that we saw in the leaked audition takes is Henry/I don’t think that George was the code name for Henry.

And to more specifically answer your question about the connection between George and Patty’s interacting mostly with eachother in the audition tapes vs Henry and Patty being put together in promo stuff:

First of all, the reason why Patty and George seem to “only” interact with eachother in the audition is because the scenes chosen for the audition happen to be with eachother- both of their auditions read the same two scenes, just different sides of it.

So, Patty could have 500 scenes with other characters and those two scenes could be the ONLY scenes she has with George in the whole play (I’m not saying that’s the truth, but just as a hyperbolic example), and we would have no idea because we’re only seeing the tiny tiny snippet scenes that were used for auditions.

Second of all, like I said earlier, Patty and Henry interacting frequently in the play is not news to me.

Like, I just don’t really see the firm link between the auditions and the promo stuff/I don’t see how that points to Henry being George. Patty and George interacting frequently and Patty and Henry interacting frequently doesn’t mean that Henry is George. It just means that Patty (as we know) is a core character who’s going to be interacting frequently with multiple characters.

Third of all, regardless of how often they put Patty and Henry together in promo stuff, and regardless of how often George and Patty interact in the audition tapes, that still doesn’t change all of the issues that don’t align with George being Henry (all of the stuff that I mentioned earlier), especially since the play has repeatedly been confirmed to be canon material & the Duffers have even been talking with the TFS team while writing S5 & making the TFS team change things so that everything aligns lore-wise:

So, all of the evidence that points to Henry not being George isn’t something that can just be overlooked because it’s a separate play/they aren’t just taking creative liberties with ages etc because it’s all canon & they’re working hard to make sure that it all lines up lore-wise with the show. And lore-wise, Henry is 12, which doesn’t line up with Patty’s age (based on her comments in the audition about how long she’s been hiding in the confession booth throughout her life), and also doesn’t align with George talking about prom and prom queen etc.

It’s not a matter of me not wanting Henry to be George- it’s simply a matter of me not believing that he is George. I’m far more inclined to believe that Allen Munson is George, especially since the auditions didn’t use codenames for characters who aren’t brand-new characters (such as Hopper, his audition didn’t have a codename), so it wouldn’t make sense for them to use a code name for Henry. But it WOULD make sense for them to use a code name for Allen Munson, because he’s technically a new character, just like Patty.

If I seem particularly annoyed about the whole thing/about Henry supposedly being George, it’s not actually because I despise the idea- I’m annoyed a.) because the evidence doesnt support it and b.) because people are acting like it’s confirmed canon that Henry is George & trying to dunk on me for being wrong about him not being George when the reality is that it’s not confirmed whatsoever. The casting announcements didn’t give us ANY new information about who George was- all the casting did was tell us that Henry was going to be in the play- something we already knew! None of the code names have been revealed. There’s nothing in the casting that proves that George is Henry, and yet, for some reason, people are acting like it’s confirmed, which is where i get frustrated. I’m not even frustrated that people disagree with me, just frustrated that they’re acting like it’s concrete confirmed canon when it’s absolutely not.

Hmm.... hard to say since Sho is just. completely batshit. I guess the easiest and most obvious answer would be that we're both artists and like to find beauty in aesthetically strange things. But I dont think i have a single thing in common with him personality wise LOL

I think susukichi and sho have extremely similar temperaments + quirks and if they weren't on opposite sides of The Conflict they'd get along great. I said once before that Susukichi would be the Sho Minamimoto of NEO if sho literally wasn't also already in the game. Their vibes are super similar and they both want to have a fun time.

23. Favorite picture of this character?

This one marketing image from when the anime was airing is the funniest thing in the world to me. like. why the fuck is sho even here. he is in no way buddies with anyone in the hachiko gang (during this specific timeframe anyways) there is literally NO logical reason for him to be posed alongside this specific group of characters here. This image from sho's pov is just him + guy hes actively trying to kill + guy he's stalking only bc he's joined at the hip with the guy he's trying to kill + guy he met twice and beat the shit out of one of those times + 2 people he's never met or interacted with before ever. On a marketing level its clear they just wanted to include him with the main characters simply bc hes a super popular character among fans but it's makes for the most unintentionally hilarious image ever.

Shiba

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

First. he's extremely funny and dresses like a harlot. Second THE LAYERSSSS Shiba's primary motivation is like a puzzle that the narrative gives you all the pieces to and then invites you to solve. Not in that the game doesn't tell you what it is At All, it says as much that he's on a powertrip towards ascension, but it's difficult to wrap your head around Why until you deliberately examine and unravel each of his relationships with the other shinjuku reapers: how they affected him, what their side of the story is, why they're emotionally estranged but still sticking together, etc. I enjoy that you have to take the time to put it together yourself, but also the full picture you get once that puzzle is complete is one that i enjoy immensely. The fact that the core of shiba's plight is rooted in his relationships (or lack thereof) is very true to the spirit of twewy and I greatly appreciate that they applied all this to the game's main villain AND gave him a chance for redemption on top of it. His final scene is one of my favourites in the game and really sticks with me.

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

The memes. Shiba's so easy to meme on its great. I have a folder of shiba memes on my desktop whenever i see a new shitpost or edit i Have to save it. im glad he gets clowned on so hard. Shi Basuks Cok lives in my head rent free. I wish shiba's va did small comms like I've seen other voice actors do sometimes bc i would pay him money to hear him voice act that post as Shiba for real. But i can dream

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I know i like Just finished talking abt how much i love the shiba memes but i also dislike how Majority of what i see of shiba is Just the memes and jokes. I wouldn't go as far as say i despise them at all (or i wouldn't have a folder of shiba memes) but I think its disappointing that i hardly see anyone actually take him seriously as a character or give him any consideration for analysis. Or not as much as I'd like to see, anyways (when i do see it it fucks hard though.) I also get the impression sometimes that some people take delight in the memes + clowning on shiba specifically bc they think he's just Not well written or interesting which bums me out a little.

I think you should be allowed to be honest about your career choices and to express your disappointment, while yes you should be gracious about the opportunities given to you that shouldnt mean you cant honestly reflect on that expereince and have some regrets and be able to express that, l

John boyega point is a moot point, john was right to be able to voice his opinion, however he was blacklisted and treated so poorly b/c of anti-blackness that is a persistent problem within the industry, him choosing to go against the industry by choosing to express his dismay at how his character was handled in starwars and a racist fandom that feels like actors should be thankful to even be part of a universe and should shut up and be quiet.

This industry would rather have its actors be apolitical, voiceless and follow the industry like mindless zombies and when an actor particularly POC cross that line they get punished . I think actors should be honest about their experience, without undermining the amount of work that goes into making the film. Like get this respectability politics out of here, like voice your opinion and express how you feel about your films. Actors should be honest and the real culprit is the anti blackness, racism and white supremacy that exists within the industry, to the point that if a black actor or any POC says anything they are blacklisted and silenced.

Re: Being honest about your previous work...

Nobody said that Actors can't be honest about their previous work. There's nothing wrong with that. But I think some people forget that Hollywood is still at the end of the day a BUSINESS.

Think about your own job. Nobody wants a whiny little complainer baby who's always fussing 24/7 about what they should be getting or what work they should be having, especially when they've only been in the company less than most people.

It's one thing if Leo DiCaprio is talking about some old roles he did that may not have suited him because he's already an A-list actor who has proven himself over the years and he is simply reflecting back on some career mistakes..

The problem that I'm seeing with JE is that he's still VERY VERY NEW to the HW industry, but already he's been complaining for YEARS (not just once or twice!) about how he wants certain roles, or how he hated some roles he did in the past (ironically, the very role that made him famous 🙄), and it just comes off as being very arrogant, unappreciative, entitled, and whiny. 🥴

It's one thing to say: "I really appreciated how u was able to trust Sofia's vision for this film..."

"This was the first time I've EVER been able to trust a director's direction on a filming project..."
