I wish I could like Shang Chi more. It's such an interesting premise, the action is really good, I enjoy some of the characters (Xu Xianling my beloved), they have Tony Leung in there being a hot asshole. It makes even people like my white parents who hate subtitles want to watch it and be fine with reading subs for once. But it's just so... MCU like. I can learn to live with Awkwafina being in it, even though I feel like she was definitely a weak point acting wise. Simu Liu as well, though I also don't think he was the best choice. But god every emotional moment was just cheapened by the MCU Humorā¢ļø and the color scheme was so MCU Dullā¢ļø and it's just impossible to really enjoy.

Whumptober day 13:
"It comes and goes like the strength in your bones."Ā
Cold compress | infection | "I Don't Feel So Good."
Fandom: Avengers
Prompts used: All
So while I ignore most of the MCU after certain events we shant name, I saw this quote and was like, yeah I can't not. So it has nothing to do with the later movies, its its own timelined thing (obv) and based more off fanfictions I like to read (fix its) than anything. So, please take things in stride. It's sort and basically a sick fic.Ā Ā ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
ā¦.
When the world looks at Tony Stark, they see a spoiled rich boy.Ā
And it's what Tony wants them to see of course. The Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist. Even Iron Man, the Super Hero he created, has so much speculation because he pilots the armor. Like Tony Stark could never truly be a heroā¦ but he'd been there all his life. No matter how many things he creates to better the world and the people who live in it, he will always beā¦Ā
But it's fine. Those who took the time to see past everything, who peeled his layers and stayed long enough to witness what he'd never outright say, they knew who Tony was. And while they were few and far between, Tony knew he was lucky to have any at all.Ā
So being in a complex, surrounded by stubborn idiots who were not quite in that category yet- or ever with how things were going, but Iron Man could have teammates without having true friends, so long as the world got saved in the end- was quite the task for Tony to handle. And today, that meant a bunch of stubborn idiot heroes who refused to admit they were in fact sick.Ā
Strange and Loki had assured them- and really it was just Tony, everyone else had been focusing fully on staying upright- that they would find the cure to whatever magical mischief their most recent adversary had cast on them. The two had not been spared so to speak, but they hadn't received the brunt of the attack and were ridiculously stubborn- that's gonna be Tonys word of the day, get over it. So with a fiery look of competition passed between them, Loki and Strange went their separate ways to see who could cure them all first, leaving the rest of them to fend for themselves.Ā
As anyone could guess, in the ever growing list of assumptions about Stark, there was the assumption he was a needy whiny clingy sick person. Where anyone got that he couldn't tell you, he was tactile and often refused any form of contact from people he didn't fully trust. But as it was, the world saw what they wanted, which included the added fact that surely a spoiled rich boy would know next to nothing on how to care for others when they're sick.Ā
Which. Rude.Ā
Tony might not have received the care a child should have, but Jarvis and Ana had tried their best where his parents didn't. And despite popular opinions, Tony did in fact care about people. So with a delirious team, Tony ignored the ache in his chest- when did he ever not?- and readied himself for his hardest task yet.Ā
He turns, finding them all still staring at where the two magicians had been with squinted eyes, and sighs.Ā
"JARVIS, lockdown as secretly as possible please. I need these guys contained until this is over." He's glad for his earpiece, talking practically under his breath, to keep the gathered heroes from hearing his order. "And some scans would be great, need to know what i'm working with."Ā
"Of course, sir."Ā
"You know Cap, I'm just exhausted, can we do our briefing in the living room?" Tony bats his eyes as if the Soldier can actually comprehend it.Ā
"Uh," his voice is raspy and he coughs like a dying frog, "sure. Living roomā¦"Ā
It gets everyone moving, however unsteady it is, Tony brushes from one to another for every sway that's a little too far, keeping everyone on their feet until they can crash onto the nearest soft surface. Or the floor as Bruce so elegantly flops. Shaking his head, he makes his way around, almost too easily removing shoes and draping blankets. He's beginning to think this may be easier than he thought-
Bruce sneezes, tints green and grows several sizes, breaking the table behind him, before sniffing and returning to a slightly paler version of himself.Ā
"Bless you." Steve mutters, arm thrown over his eyes as his open mouth breathing wheezes in and out of his chest.Ā
Natasha grumbles, burrowed into Hawkeyes side, face ashen and eyes squeezed closed, she shivers and shifts closer to the archer. Clint, to his credit, does not push her away, despite the sweat clinging to him and red tint to his cheeks.Ā
Thor is completely out, mouth open wide as he snores around a congested nose. He- like his brother and Strange- was better off, but for a guy who'd never had an Earth sickness- if any, Tony wouldn't know- itd be best to watch him too. If Bruce was breaking things, Thor would too no doubt.
"JARVIS, lower the lighting level a bit, and play something quiet on TV, I'm gonna make some soup." He supposed he should just be glad it wasn't every Avenger, but it was going to be a long day.
He rubs at his chest, joints protesting his movements, and clears his throat to avoid coughing.Ā
He could do thisā¦
"Steve, I swear to all things, if you do not stop I will have Hulk sit on you."
He shifts the bowl of cool water so he can use a finger to push Cap back down on the couch turned bed. The super soldier goes down with little actual resistance, despite the fact he looks like he very much wants to resist. He's had to force most of them to sit still at least once, Natasha was fine so long as she was against someone warm, Clint wouldn't move if Natasha was resting on him, but had tried to fly when she'd curled into Steve. Bruce's brain still had a million tabs open, but he was also a little worried about the Hulk. The Hulk for his part, was miserable too and just wanted to watch TV one way or another so Tony was less worried about him than Bruce despite the broken table he'd had to clean up. And Thor had also tried to fly, but smacked himself in the face with Mjolnir and promptly fallen into a side table to take another napā¦ hopefully.
Once he's sure Steve is down for awhile longer, he goes back to his task of pressing cold compresses to heated heads. His hands shake more than usual, but like everything else, he ignores it as he dodges a smack from the red head before pressing the cloth to her neck and tucking the blankets in tighter to appease her.Ā
Task accomplished, he turns to check on the soup when a whimper- high and sudden- hits his ears. He turns- a little too fast, his head spins with the motion- to find Hawkeye sitting up, one hand on his stomach, the other over his mouth, and wide eyes looking up at Tony.
"I don't feel so good." He utters it a second before he's leaning over the edge of the couch bed and puking whatever the archer had eaten today.Ā
Tony sidesteps the mess to get to the heaving blond, placing a hand on his back and finding the compress to wipe at his face gently.
"It's okay, breathe. You're okay." Cleaning the cloth in the bowl he helps Clint lay back down, Natasha curling into his side again, and sighs in relief as he relaxes.Ā
He coughs into his elbow until he can't breathe and he worries about either adding to the mess or falling into it. The comm in his ear beeps steadily, sudden enough to get a breath in, and get the spots to stop dancing in his vision.Ā
"Thanks Jar."Ā
"I have re-" "I've found-"
"I really don't care who does it, just fix them." Tony waves at the miserably slumbering heroes as he makes his way towards the elevator. He had far too many things to catch up on to stay around for the aftermath of everything. He rubs at his chest as he leans heavily against the wall, waiting for the doors to open.Ā
"Tony, are you alright?" Strange's voice sounds far away.
"Fine, there's soup if you guys are hungry." His voice croaks a bit, but he knows if he clears it he'll cough.Ā
"I believe we should use the spell on you as well." Loki's drawl spins around his ears.Ā
"S'not the spell. I'll be fine. Just comes and goes," he waves his hand like he can wave the problem away, "like the strength in your bones. Iron bends under heat and stuffā¦ whatever dad said." Hes mumbling by the end, not really caring what comes from his mouth or who hears. "Jarā¦ where's the 'vator?"Ā
"Running slow sir, my apologies."Ā
"Tony-"Ā
"Sir you're-!"
"TONY!"
"....infection in his lungsā¦"
"...the arc reactorā¦"
"...pneumoniaā¦"
"...need to flush out the cavityā¦"
"...irritated and swollen, the arc isā¦"
"...spellā¦"
Tony's chest feels heavy, his arms tingle, his head aches and eye twitches, there's a dull pain throbbing throughout his bodyā¦
So everythings normal.
But thenā¦ why doesn't he remember going to bed, and not his bed in the lab but like a bed bed.Ā
Shit! The team!Ā
He sits up quick enough to throw his head for a loop, and to startle the bodies surrounding him. He stares with wide eyes at a room full of heroes, several of which are in web hammocks strung from the ceiling. Dozens of eyes stare back, and he wonders if he missed something he shouldn't have.Ā
"Are we dead?"Ā
The collective sigh tells him they aren't, but that there's a lecture in his future.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves (2023) Review
A month ago at the point of Quantumaniaās release I was discussing superhero fatigue, especially with the MCU. However now it seems it may in fact be fatigue of cinema as a whole! 2023...what have you done.
Plot:Ā A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic quest to retrieve a long lost relic, but their charming adventure goes dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.
Straight off the bat Iāll say that I am not really an avid diehard D&D fan. I have played a few games during university with one of my more nerdier mates back then. Yeah, you know the one. Everyone has that one geek king in their uni years whoās an expert in all things pop culture, comics, movies and D&D. So yeah, that cool dude! However outside of those few D&D sessions where Iād cameo as my dwarf character that I aptly named Gimli the Second, my knowledge of this trademark tabletop game begins and ends there. So of course I wonāt get all the references and Easter eggs that are sure to please fans in this movie. That being said, as more of a casual viewer I must say...I didnāt really like this movie.
I know, I know, many of you liked this one. Iāve seen the positive critical reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and the excited audience response on IMDb. Yet I am not one of these lucky chums. Look, Iāve been getting really frustrated with the sheer mediocrity that Hollywood has been churning out recently. This year alone we had Adam Driver take on dinosaurs and somehow make it boring; M Night Shyamalan tackled the end of the world and there was no signature big twist; Nicolas Cage starred in his first ever western and surprisingly did not Cage-rage once; the new MCU big bad Kang ended up not being that intimidating...look, itās been a crappy year for films so far. The fact that Iām considering Cocaine Bear at the top spot is heavily concerning. Now we have the new Dungeons & Dragons movie that I personally found to reinstate that fact of banality.Ā
The plot of the film is filled with predictable clichĆ©s all ripped from the likes of Lord of the Rings, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Princess Bride, only all those did it better. I found myself daydreaming multiple times throughout the movie and being flat out bored by a lot of what was going on. It was a weak narrative with very cringeworthy dialogue. Heck, even the comedy wasnāt really good. Hugh Grant does his usual over the top shtick, yet even though that worked superbly for him in Guy Ritchieās The Gentlemen, in here it came off pompous and annoying. Chris Pine, as charming as he may be, is miscast as the lead bard, as the main character is supposed to be more of a know-it-all doofus, as such I feel someone like Jason Bateman would have fit the part more. In fact, this movie is directed and produced by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, whom both worked with Bateman previously on Game Night and Horrible Bosses, so I feel like they may have even had him in mind when they first wrote the script. Michelle Rodriguez is bland as ever, Sophia Lillis is forgettable, Rege-Jean Page was only cast for his looks and Daisy Head isnāt menacing enough as the villain. Justice Smith is the only one really who actually got some laughs out of the audience in my cinema, and also the only one to really have a proper character arc in the whole movie.
The visuals in all fairness were solid. The creature designs were realised really well, and the use of some practical effects is always a welcome. But overall this D&D adventure came off as a lazy fantasy rehash, and one that offered minimum thrill. Again, this may appeal more to hardcore fans of the original game, but overall the cure of 2023 movie mediocrity continues. Hereās hoping Chris Pratt voicing Mario isnāt as bad as it sounds...
Overall score: 4/10

The Flash
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/415a92213aa520162b1a0cbc4af64d96/7fdfd6868f385f30-7a/s540x810/8b6d112f04a61f0df3c7ec816e0157c5e1be6e14.jpg)
Before I go any further I want to give a trigger warning, this movieās lead has committed some truly reprehensible acts and I understand if you donāt want to read any further or share this review.
WB has no shortage of controversial collaborators, from everyoneās favorite transphobe, J.K.Rowling to the subject of this review, Ezra Miller.
To call his actions disgusting would be an understatement, abuse and sex trafficking are no laughing matter, and I want make it clear that I do not condone Millerās actions.
The Flash takes place after the events of Justice League, and Barry Allen (Miller) has started working at a Forensics lab, and is working had to find evidence that will absolve his father of accusations of murdering his mom. With a greater mastery of his powers and understanding of the speed force (the source of The Flashās speed) he decides to manipulate the timeline in order to prevents his momās murder. This choice catastrophically alters the timeline and he is forced to align himself with this realityās Batman (reprised by Michael Keaton), a time variant of himself, and Kara Zor-El, SuperGirl (Sasha Calle).
I didnāt want to like this movie, but itās a well put together superhero film, honestly better than anything that the MCU has put out recently.
That said, I will start with negatives, the score was insanely uninspired and I found myself pointing out how much of Barryās theme sounded like the theme from the CW show. And donāt get me started on Batmanās music. Ben Wallfisch, knows how to copy homework, even if it is poor interpretation.
The CGI was vomit inducing, looking more like low resolution PS3 games than effects from this decade.
The way time travel is explained is idiotic, making it sound like the timeline can be fixed with a little TLC; this is yet another way that the show is far superior, (my inner science nerd is coming in 3,2,1) explaining that the fact the theoretical physics of a timeline being fractured, and could never return to exactly the way it was, no matter what was done.
Science rant over.

Millerās depiction of one of my favorite DC heroes, never ceases to annoy me. They never seems like someone who wants to do the right thing in a lot of scenes, they comes off as reluctant at various points and even when they develop it seems like he doesnāt like heās learned anything. And yes, Barry is a HUGE nerd, but their performance was far from lovable. But part of that comes from irony of Miller playing this role.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ab8ef4abb8bf88678c6a82048b0eabcc/7fdfd6868f385f30-48/s540x810/5876752fbb2eb9c35b9dd17688c76342ac490f74.jpg)
Michael Keatonās performance was like reuniting with an old friend, it was like heād never left the role. It also helped that he was working with a director who actually understood.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/79274efdc5090162c6769c473bfec1d1/7fdfd6868f385f30-54/s250x250_c1/d8f9ea5f293a20ae757df57e8c6d8c0e03cbf8bb.jpg)
Sasha Calle was an excellent choice for SuperGirl, sheās the first actress that Iāve play the role that played her as a hothead, which is one of my favorite characterizations of her.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/562774e5e7a23c9f8ee529a4a10c0724/7fdfd6868f385f30-4e/s250x250_c1/0336bf9e4cac5a3b880aebbe67fd19eb7e1c0fea.jpg)
Director Andy Muschietti, made something truly entertaining, so I will give credit where it is due, but that doesnāt excuse the lead for being an awful person or the fact that Warner Entertainment still wishes to endorse them.
Iām glad I got to see this movie for free, I had a lot of fun, and think itās overall solid flick; but I canāt tell you what to do with your money, I know that I wonāt be paying to see it in theaters again and instead donate my money to sex trafficking prevention and abuse counseling
I give The Flash a 3.5 out of 5.

ant-man & the wasp: quantumania
iāll be honest, there are only 2 things keeping me from completely hating this movie:
1. scott and agent woo finally going on their dinner date (only to have it paid for by the #1 ghost hunter in the world ryan bergara)
B. jonathan majorsā performance as kang (though his career has pretty much been torpedoed at this point)
otherwise, itās kind of disappointing, especially cuz i enjoyed the other ant-man movies
lip service is made yet again to the aftermath of the snap/blip without it having any actual effect on the world or plot (hey remember the sokovia accords? those havenāt had any major changes on the world either!)
the quantum realm is very muted and dark. most of the cool visuals that shouldāve been bright or standout more are just bland. thatās what happens when you make your VFX teams crunch under tight deadlines without proper compensation and frankly we need to speak up more about it. fuck disney/marvel for this
as previously stated, kang was the best part of this. jonathan majors couldāve been the next tom hiddleston as far as iām concerned, a popular villian actor that nails the character so well heād have staying power. unfortunately, with the recent events and allegations of domestic violence, it seems highly unlikely heāll be returning to the role.
one of the best parts of the other ant-man movies is that scott is trying his best to be a good dad despite his circumstances and has a good, healthy co-parenting relationship with his ex and her new husband. judy greer and bobby cannavale do not make an appearance at all in this film, and the idea of scott being a bad dad for even a second is less than appealing to me.
evangeline lily is an anti-vax plague rat licker and i canāt look at her the same way again. super goddamn disappointing to be sure
michelle pfeiffer and michael douglas continue to be a delight
i miss the 3 wombats
i say this punintentionally and emphatically: ant-man works better on a smaller scale when the problems are contained to his life and not as a set-up for larger shit down the line in the mcu

Whatās his name, Marvel?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/75d78d4ee1a7aa6509be71b4cdb49343/61bb6e083bb6c91d-13/s400x600/6f813432e049b02070b2ac042a58c742bed183d4.jpg)
Image description: actor Haaz Sleiman, slated to appear in movie Eternals.
(NB: For the record, any of my criticism on this post is directed to Marvel Studios and Disney, not to the actor Haaz Sleiman (pictured above) nor Eternals co-star Brian Tyree Henry, whom I wish nothing but the best for.)
Now, I have some marketing moans about Eternals from Marvel studios.
It is August, 2021.Ā
There's been a buzz about the MCU's "first openly gay character" recently (how dare y'all disrespect Gay Joe Russo like that), and that the character, Phastos (played by Brian Tyree Henry), will be shown in the movie to be married to another man (played by Haaz Sleiman).
The MCU's first gay couple, as Marvel studios themselves keep touting.
Anyway, I wondered to myself: what's the husband's name?
So I set to Google.
I Googled the cast list for Eternals, and this a screenshot from today of the lower end of the results:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0ae60d9df31b897ed314fcb6d18b12ac/61bb6e083bb6c91d-a1/s400x600/e1646b0cd0524980a3084ec555f486d7f92e15c8.jpg)
Image description: Eternals cast list from Google, where actor Haaz Sleiman is listed asĀ āPhastosā husbandā.
Ah, no name.Ā
The text under the actor's name simply says "Phastos' husband".
Okay, so I went next to IMDB, to search the 'full cast and crew' section, of which there is only 19 listed as of today (and I'd expect that list to grow after the movie releases).
IMDB screenshot:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/44ac11aa8c269e7553f8f9712ac4be56/61bb6e083bb6c91d-5b/s400x600/a020efa3d4304d10efb7443f87dae5cb32c41fa0.jpg)
Image description: IMDB listing for Eternals, actor Haaz Sleiman has no character name listed.
These are the bottom four results on the IMDB listing, and Sleiman's "Husband" doesn't even have the word husband listed.
Below him is a named character, Karun, and two 'uncredited' characters such as 'Girl' and 'Passerby'.
Um... Right.
Now, I'm not trying to be difficult.Ā I just want to know what this guy's name is.Ā I also want to know: why isn't his name listed? Why isn't it easy to find?
I've browsed Google for articles on this nameless husband for the past half an hour, and the only sparse information I can find is seemingly one interview/quote that the actor (Haaz Sleiman) has given, stating that his character and Phastos share an onscreen kiss.
That's great, but what's his name?
I'm getting the impression that Husband (we'll have to just call him that for now) isn't going to have a prominent role in this movie, considering he's nameless and so far down on cast listings.
Just one up from 'uncredited', basically.
News outlets refer to his character as "Phastos' husband" only.Ā Withholding a character's name makes no sense, unless that name/character themselves is a spoiler.
Yet... I'm not really getting that vibe from Husband, I'm getting more of a walk-on role vibe from him/this character. And if that's the case, his name won't be a spoiler, so why isn't is more widely available?
Leaving him nameless while also watching Disney/MCU pat themselves on the back for this gay rep onscreen feels disrespectful to his character.
Is he a well rounded character, or a nameless walk-on with one line?
All we know is from Sleiman's direct quote:Ā "I'm his husband, I'm an architect, we have a child."
That's great, but did Disney give you a name?
Sigh.
I'm really trying to reserve my judgement until the movie is out (we may have to wait until 2022 if it gets delayed), and I'd love to be pleasantly surprised...
But then I remind myself this is DISNEY and Disney's track record with LGBT+ rep has often been hyped up only to fall flat and ring hollow when actually seen onscreen.
See the afore mentioned Gay Joe Russo in Avengers Endgame (2019), and LeFou's "exclusively gay moment" which was more like a vaguely gay nanosecond in Beauty and the Beast (2017). Hardly great rep.
And another barely there moment (two seconds, was it?) in Rise of Skywalker (2019) when two women share a kiss (Commander Larma D'Acy kisses her pilot wife Wrobie Tyce) in celebration at the end.
I rather fear we're going to get another two seconds, blink and you'll miss it, kiss between the two married men in Eternals.
Disney is putting so much emphasis on any visibly gay couple being MARRIED in order to kiss (while Hetero characters kiss and more without being married), attempting to package their gay characters as homely, 'respectable', and more palatable to a Het audience, but if one of these characters doesn't even have a name then how is it any better or more meaningful than the nanosecond that 2017's Beauty and the Beast served up?
How is a character going to matter when he doesn't even have a name? You're trying to tell me he'll be important to the story, to audiences? Doesn't seem like it from here.
Now, I'd love to be pleasantly surprised.
I'd love to see this character in Eternals get a name other than "Phastos' Husband" (I'll be keeping an eye on listings for a name, too.)Ā I'd love to see him have lines, I'd love to see him onscreen generally.Ā
I want to see him matter.
As always, Disney wants us to 'wait and see', a line they often feed us when it comes to MCU characters.
Disney knows queer fans are here, they prove that enough by leaning into queerbaiting with their marketing (Bucky Barnes, and more recently Loki have suffered from this) but Disney rarely delivers anything satisfactory.
Writer Russell T. Davies, of fan favorite show Torchwood, recently said that Disney's attempts to show Loki as bi were "a feeble gesture". (He's right and he should say it.)
I'm not exactly holding my breath with Disney here, but I'll wait until I see Phastos and Husband for myself before I decide if it's any good or not.
Or if this poor dude ever gets a name.
In the meantime, all I want to see is Disney treating this supposedly ground breaking new character with the same respect as the other cast: list his name.
List his name with the rest of the main cast.
It shouldn't be this difficult to find out a character's name in a major movie, and especially not if the studio is making a big deal about the character being there, giving themselves points for rep.
If that name is out there somewhere (I gave up looking, it shouldn't take longer than thirty minutes to locate a name for God's sake), then it needs to be made more prominent so fans can find it.
Google and IMDB would be ideal places to have the character name listed.
If IMDB can list 'Girl' and 'Passerby' onto the uncredited roles, then we should also have a simple NAME for this Husband so we can start using it.
What's his name, Marvel?
~*~
Do YOU know what Husband's name is? Tell me!

Now that I've finally recovered from covid, I was able to redeem my cancelled ticket and go see the new Doctor Strange movie.
Honestly, this movie exceeded my expectations. Now to be fair, I wasn't expecting all that much from reading the reviews, but it definitely was a pleasant surprise.
This being said, the CGI in the opening scenes was suuuuper sketch. And I know I'm not the only one to comment on this, but it's obvious the Marvel is really pushing the limits in what can be done in VFX in a short amount of time, and it shows. (Moon Knight, which I enjoyed on the whole, also suffered from this). I'm guessing those opening scenes were ones they had to reshoot later in the process, as the effects were pretty on point for the rest of the film.
Sam Raimi has a very specific style that we haven't really seen in the MCU yet. I really loved it. Two scenes that stood out was the semi-late 80s/early 90s Microsoft screensaver montage with Wanda as she was trying to dreamwalk (it was SO like, 1992 I had to cackle). But the scene that was 1000% gorgeous in terms of its cinematography was the one with Xavier inside Wanda's mind. That was A+++.
I disliked every singly scene in the Kamar-Taj. The setting just irks me. The trope is extremely overplayed.
Now here's what was good - Mordo and Strange having an honest-to-gods fistfight. So refreshing.
Elizabeth Olsen was really, really good in her role, especially as a villain. (My only real complaint is that the Darkhold, in this timeline, seems a little deus ex. In Agents of Shield, its introduction and corrupting influence felt a lot more organic).
"Are you happy, Stephen?" Really fascinating theme about what makes Strange tick - and it's not necessarily good. (Christine's comment about holding the knife isn't too far off point).
How did I almost miss Bruce Campbell's cameo??? I'm embarrassed for myself, I watched so much Xena and Hercules back in the day...
Music fight was pretty cool, Beethoven 5 versus Bach Toccata and Fugue.
Strange is just collecting wayward teenagers as his phase 4 thing.
Speaking of teens, I really liked America Chavez's character.
The thing is...Marvel seems almost...allergic to creating character study pieces. There always has to be some fight or big boss or world ending plan or whatever. They have so many supremely talented actors who really lure you in with their storylines and (this is especially true for the more cosmic stuff), it just gets kind interrupted before going "too far" in the quiet moments. The quiet moments are what have made these films and series so far. Let them marinate a bit more.
Okay, so the plot had some swiss cheese elements to it. Evil (and good) magic books and sudden rules about possessing corpses, and sudden abilities to transverse the multiverse (I have the feeling we are all going to be really sick of the multiverse in another 6 months).
Underrated moment was Strange 836 (whatever the number was) getting executed. Big yikes.
Overall entertaining, some great character moments interspersed with the usual Marvel stuff (who was that blonde woman in the credit scene?) 7.5/10, better than the most recent Spiderman movie, for sure.
#hello there#doctor strange#multiverse of madness#it was also less quippy than the usual mcu fare which was also. anice change#mcu needs more stylized works like this#let's get artsy

Backstage: Elizabeth Olsen grins widely over video chat when recalling many such moments on set with her co-stars. Yet, she canāt bring herself to divorce such a lofty vision of film acting from the technical multitasking it requires. The camera sees all.
āBut then you move your hair, and youāre in your brain, like: OK, remember that! Because I donāt want to edit myself out of a shot. I know some actors are like, āContinuity, shmontinuity!ā But the good thing about continuity is, if you remember it, youāre actually providing yourself with more options for the edit.ā
That need to balance being both inside the scene and outside of it, fully living it and yet constantly visualizing it on a screen, feels particularly apt in light of Olsenās most recent project, āWandaVision.ā
The mysteries at the heart of the show grow with every episode, each fast-forwarding to a different decade: Could this 1950s, black-and-white, āfilmed in front of a studio audienceā newlyweds bit be a grief-stricken dream? Might this ā70s spoof be a powerful spell gone awry? Could this meta take on mockumentary comedies be proof that the multiverse is finally coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
The seriesā structure, which branches out to include government agents intent on finding out why Westview has seemingly disappeared, calls for the entire cast to play with a mix of genres, balancing a shape-shifting tone that culminates in an epic, MCU-style conclusion. Whatās keyāand why the show struck a chord with audiences during its nine-episode runāis the miniseriesā commitment to grounding its initial kooky setups and its later special effects-driven spectacle in heartbreaking emotional truths. Itās no small feat, though itās one that can often be taken for granted.
āI was thinking how hard it would have been to have shot the first āLord of the Rings,ā ā Olsen muses. āLike, youāre putting all these actors [into the frame] later and at all these different levels. All the eyelines are completely unnatural. And yet the performances are fantastic! And technically, they are so hard. People forget sometimes that these things are really technically hard to shoot. And if you are moved by their performance, that took a lot of multitasking.ā
As someone who has learned plenty about harnesses, wirework, fight choreography, and green screens (sheās starred in four Marvel movies, including the box office megahit āAvengers: Endgame,ā after all), Olsen knows how hard it can be to wrap oneās brain around the work needed to pull off those big, splashy scenes.
āāāIf you think about it, itās, like, the biggest stakes in the entire worldāevery time. And that feels silly to act over and over again, especially when people are in silly costumes and the love of your life is purple and sparkly, and every time you kiss them, you have to worry about getting it on your hands. Those things are ridiculous. You feel ridiculous. So there is a part of your brain that has to shovel that away and just look into someoneās eyeballsāand sometimes, they donāt even have eyeballs!ā
The ability to spend so much time with Wanda, albeit in the guise of sitcom parodies, was a welcome opportunity for Olsen. Not only did it allow the actor to really wrestle with the traumatic backstory that has long defined the character in the MCU, but having the chance to calibrate a performance that functions on so many different levels was a thrilling challenge.
āIt was such an amazing work experience,ā she says. āKathryn [Hahn] uses the word āprofoundāāwhich is so sweet, because it is Marvel, and people, you know, donāt think of those experiences as profound when they watch them. But it really was such a special crew that [director] Matt Shakman and [creator] Jac Schaeffer created. It was a really healthy working environment.ā
RelatedāWandaVisionā Star Kathryn Hahnās Secret to Building a Scene-Stealing Performance āWandaVisionā Star Kathryn Hahnās Secret to Building a Scene-Stealing Performance Considering that the miniseries spans several sitcom iterations, various layers of televisual reality, and a number of character reveals that needed to feel truthful and impactful in equal measure, Shakmanās decision to work closely with his actors ahead of shooting was key.
āWe truly had a gorgeous amount of time together before we started filming,ā Olsen remembers. āOur goal wasāwhich is controversial in TV landāthat if you wanted to change [anything], like dialogue in a scene, you had to give those notes a week before we even got there. Because sometimes you get to set, and someone had a brilliant idea while they were sleeping, and youāre like, āWe donāt have an hour to talk about this. We have seven pages to shoot.ā And so, we were all on the same page with one another, knowing what we were shooting ahead of time.
āMatt just treated us like a troupe of actors who were about to do some regional theater shit,ā she adds with a smile.
That spirit of camaraderie was, not coincidentally, at the heart of Olsenās breakout project, Sean Durkinās 2011 indie sensation āMartha Marcy May Marlene.ā As an introduction to the process of filmmaking to a young stage-trained actor, Durkinās quietly devastating drama was a dreamāand an invaluable learning opportunity.
āIt was truly just a bunch of people who loved the script, who just were doing the work. I didnāt understand lenses, so I just did the same thing all the time. I never knew if the camera would be on me or not. There was just so much purity in that experience, and you only have that once.ā
The film announced Olsen as a talent to watch: a keen-eyed performer capable of deploying a stilted physicality and clipped delivery, which she used to conjure up a wounded girl learning how to shake off her time spent in a cult in upstate New York. But Olsen admits that it took her a while to figure out how to navigate her career choices afterward. In the years following āMartha,ā she felt compelled to try on everything: a horror flick here, a high-profile remake there, a period piece here, an action movie there. It wasnāt until she starred in neo-Western thriller āWind Riverā (alongside fellow Marvel regular Jeremy Renner) and the dark comedy āIngrid Goes Westā (opposite a deliciously deranged Aubrey Plaza) that Olsen found her groove.
āIt was at that point, when I was five years into working, where I was like, Ah, I know how I want it. I know what I need from these peopleāfrom whoās involved, from producers, from directors, from the character, from the scriptāin order to trust that itās going to be a fruitful experience.ā
As Olsen looks back on her first decade as a working actor, she points out how far removed she is from that young girl who broke out in āMartha Marcy May Marlene.ā
āI feel like a totally different person. I donāt know if everyone whoās in their early 30s feels like their early 20s self is a totally different human. But when I think about that version of myself, it feels like a long time ago; thereās a lot learned in a decade.ā
Those early years were marked by a self-effacing humility that often led Olsen to defer to others when it came to key decisions about the characters she was playing. But she now feels emboldened to not only stand up for herself and her choices but for others on her sets as well.
ā[Facebook Watch series] āSorry for Your Lossā I got to produce, and I really found my voice in a collaborative leadership way. And with āWandaVision,ā Paul [Bettany] and I really took on that feeling, as wellāespecially since we were introducing new characters to Marvel and wanted [those actors] to feel protected and helped,ā she says. āThey could ask questions and make sure they felt like they had all the things they needed because sometimes you donāt even know what you need to ask.ā
Itās a lesson she learned working with filmmaker Marc Abraham on the Hank Williams biopic āI Saw the Light,ā and sheās carried it with her ever since. āI really want it to feel like weāre all in this together, as a team,ā Olsen says. āThat was part of āSorry for Your Lossā and it was part of āWandaVision,ā and I hope to continue that kind of energy because those have been some of the healthiest work experiences Iāve had.ā
If Olsen sounds particularly zealous about the importance of a comfortable, working set, it is because sheās well aware that therein lies an integral part of the work and the process. As an actor, she wants to feel protected and nurtured by those around her, whether sheās reacting to a telling, quiet line of dialogue about grief or donning her iconic Scarlet Witch outfit during a magic-filled mid-air action sequence.
āSometimes youāre going to be foolish, you know? And [you need to] feel brave to be foolish. Sometimes people feel embarrassed on set and snap. But if youāre in a place where people feel like theyāre allowed to be an idiot,ā she says, āyouāre going to feel better about being an idiot.ā

Strength Like The Sea/A Familiar Yet Foreign FaceĀ by Lacrimula_Falsa for funkyspacegirlfriend (AU, 3k)
There had to be another explanation for the ugly burning feeling in his chest because this wasnāt a rom-com and heād known Steve for less than a day.
After years of his father fruitlessly searching for one, Tony finally gets to meet a real-life vampire.
Ā· Ā· Ā·*ā*ā ā ā*ā Ā·*ā ļæ½ļæ½ ā ā
Anthony.
No, not Anthony, because Anthony had crumbled to dust right before his eyes. But this man looked so eerily similar to him, he could have been Anthonyās twin brother. Only the eyes were different, warm brown instead of cold blue. After being woken nearly a century after he went into stasis because the pain of losing his lover Anthony was too much, Steven meets a man who looks just like him.
I Know There is Comfort Where We OverlapĀ by jellybeanforest for ghosthan (Ults, 10k)
As a relic of a bygone era, Steve struggles with feelings of isolation and severe depression made worse by his recent breakup with Jan Pym. He secretly hooks up with random strangers chasing a sense of connection with someone, anyone. Things are going (not) well when he and fellow Ultimate, Iron Man, are tasked with infiltrating a Thai resort serving as a front for illegal arms dealing. Only catch: They must go undercover as a married couple on their honeymoon.
finding steve rogersĀ by jacobby for geekymoviemom (MCU, 6k)
Steve sighs. āSorry. I wasnāt a very good tour guide. Ma always told me about the town, but she never got into specifics.ā
Tony takes Steveās hand in his and places it close to his lips. āItās your first time here too. We understand.ā
AKA
After a botched mission with SHIELD, Steve takes a vacation with his family to a town in Ireland.
Things are knot as they seemĀ by BladeoftheNebula for DepressingGreenie (AU, 3k)
Everyone assumes Captain America is an alpha and Steve doesnāt see the harm in not correcting them. After all, Alphas command respect while omegas are still considered far too delicate for leadership.
And sure, it sucks hiding his designation when heās in love with Tony Stark, the hottest alpha heās ever seen, but what alpha would want an omega who could lift them with one hand?
So itās fine. Itās not as if anyone was ever going to find out his secret anywayā¦
A drop of loveĀ by CapAL for Perlmutt (AU, Comic)
After sleeping for 70 years Steve wakes up to a world that he doesnāt understand. As an age-old vampire heās seen a lot of things in his life, but nothing has ever confused him as much as the bubbly Starbucks barista Tony. They meet by chance and Steve stays. He falls for him, even though he knows he shouldnāt, and together they explore modern New York, while Steve tries to hide his true nature from Tony, afraid that he would send him away if he knew the truth.
The Fake Prince and the Cat Ā by Neverever for Fluffypanda (AU, 5.5k)
Steve is sent in place of Prince Brock to marry the libertine Tony Stark. It's better than he thought it would be, plus he makes friends with a cat.
father to sonĀ by parkrstark for HogwartsToAlexandria (MCU, 2.5k)
Steve had been planning on asking Peter to be his son, officially, for weeks now, but he always chickened out because he didn't thik he was good enough for the boy. Funnily enough, Peter had the same idea, but when he showed the adoption papers to Steve, he didn't have the best of reactions.

Captain America comes back from Dimension Z changed. He has had over a decade of his life taken from him, as well as the woman he loved. Stoic, secretive, and traumatized, much of what he experienced remains a mystery to SHIELD and the world; Tony is there to help him heal, and uncover the truth about how much Steve has lost.
The Eventide AspectĀ by geekymoviemom for ishipallthings (MCU, T, 12k)
āYeah, Cap, about that,ā Tony says, looking rather sheepish as he scratches at the back of his neck.
āYeah?ā asks Steve.
āWellā¦ remember those half-baked ideas that I mentioned? Ā Iām afraid this might be one of āem,ā says Tony.
āOkay. Ā Care to explain it to someone who doesn't speak technical?ā
āAhhā¦ā Tony trails off, mumbling under his breath again. Ā āYeah. Ā Umā¦ if my theory is correct, Iām thinking that when we stepped through that window, we mightāve entered another dimension.ā

Steve forgets how to self-sabotage his own happiness.
He also forgets his team, his soulmate and the last three years of his life.
avengers featuring steveās doppleganger vol 1 (FANCOMIC)Ā by wingheads for jellybeanforrest (616, Art)
tony dates a man who looks a lot like steve. everyone can see it, everyone knows what that means, except tony, who doesn't seem to realize he's dating steve's doppelganger. steve doesn't see the resemblance either and actually comes to like tony's new boyfriend, but then one of the other avengers spills the beans that they look exactly alike to tony, who can't unsee it now and breaks up with the new guy, only for steve to be sad that his baseball-buddy won't be around anymore.

First ImpressionĀ by veryvincible for wingheads (616, M, 7k)
The Avengers find the schematics of a deadly weapon in the hands of an up-and-coming villain. To safely retrieve the data that led to its creation and keep the city safe in the process, they have to take a very subtle approach. The man-- Jack Marshall-- has an eye for hunks and a tendency to get vulnerable with them. The team could use this to their advantage, if they have the right assets.
Enter Steve.
Dandelions and LiliesĀ by Wikketkrikket for CapAL (AU, G, 4k)
Written for CapAL for the StonylovesSteve event 2021.
A summer job in the florists is pretty good, as summer jobs go; and when a handsome guy comes in with some very particular requirements it gets even better.
Or it would, if Steve wasn't lying about the meaning of every bouquet he sold.
Potshot by jellybeanforest for jacobby (AU, T, 2.5k)
In an expansive wasteland infested with hordes of the undead, Steve, leader of a group of ex-military operatives known as the Avengers, searches for survivors and supplies in the ruins of the old world.

For Stony Loves Steve 2021. Based on a prompt by jacobby.
Remorse and RaptureĀ by oliverparker for optimusprime13 (AU, E, 6k)
When Steve's mother falls ill, he's forced to move in with the family she works for. He's not thrilled about it.
Shards of EternitiesĀ by Perlmutt for starksnack (AU, T, 5k)
Rumor had it that the war would soon be over. It could not end soon enough. Until then, Anthony would wait for Steven. He would wait and protect their child. He would wait and write another thousand letters for his alpha, his mate, his husband, if only he would come home, come for him, come for them.
Two Can Play That Game by JehBeEhh for Becci Barnes (BeccEEE) (MCU, T, 4k)
Tony Stark is many things. Patient isn't always one of them. Especially not when there's a happily ever after at the end of that bout of patience.
UncoveredĀ by mariana_oconnor for Corsets_and_Cardigans (MCU, G, 6k)
Steve didn't think the tip-off was anything more than the usual nonsensical conspiracy theory. He only went to check it out because he was curious. He definitely wasn't expecting it to be a trap.
Build Me Up ButtercupĀ by ishipallthings for BladeoftheNebula (4k, M, MCU)
Tony sees the gold letters spelling āStarkā on the edge of Steveās hood and his mind grinds to a halt. Steve looks good wearing his name. Too good.
(In which Steve starts experimenting with a new style. Tony does not find this infuriatingly attractive, thank you very much.)
Discovery [Art]Ā by Fluffypanda for captainstars (Art, G, Noir)
Renowned adventurer Tony Stark discovers a carving of a lost civilization's protector.
I left my heart (at home with you)Ā by captainstars for UisceOneLove (2k, G, AU)
It shouldnāt have surprised him as much as it did.
The man grinned at him, wide and beautiful. Steve couldnāt help sneaking another glance towards the heavens. They really lost their citizens fairly easily. Steve would like to say this was the first white robed beauty he had come across until now, but he wasnāt.
(OR)
Steve moved to a cabin in the woods hoping to live the life of a hermit werewolf. When Tony Stark decided to become his new neighbor, it threw a bit of a wrench into Steveās plans.

My Spider-Man Ideas
Because Iām glad my good bro @kaijuguy19 asked me about this. I want to say and itās not a secret Iām actually a big Spider-Man fan. And ever since last year. I wanted to make my own take on the character. And maybe I still will one day. But smaller maybe. But ever since this post I made.Ā https://geekgemsspooksandtoons.tumblr.com/post/662905966119075840/to-be-honest-i-just-wanna-say-i-feel-like-maybe-iĀ I think itās best I just talk about it.Ā
In a way, I feel like this is what The Amazing Spider-Man series couldāve been maybe. Which is something I wanted to talk about. Despite some big criticisms towards that franchise. I donāt mind itās place, and we canāt change history with it. And Spider-Man is in the MCU now.
This may not be all finished yet. Or put together much better. But this is practically my,Ā āThe Dark Knightā of the Spider-Man character. Yet also, I feel like maybe itās best I donāt touch the Spider-Man franchise.
Because I feel like if fans, non fans, and whoever read this. They would honestly think,Ā āGeekGem, please go back to The Mask franchiseā because while I love Spider-Man, and the themes his character represent. Along with the many characters and stories. That have even inspired the likes of The Mask Rebirth strangely. But The Mask is maybe a series that is...maybe more suited for me...
I just wanted to say that I think people would be like,Ā āGo back to The Mask franchise please. And never touch any Spider-Man related againā but Iām being way too harsh about myself. Now letās begin. XD
Part 1.
I wanted to strangely make my own Spider-Man in a sense like Batman 1989. But I feel Spider-Man 2002 fills that hole. Including one of the old ideas that Peter has been Spider-Man for 5 years with no huge villains. But recently, it had gone to maybe his second year instead. Him being 19 and in college. With the origin not shown, but cleverly shown and told maybe akin to how Spectacular told it. And what I wanted Homecoming to do possibly. Or even something like that 2017 series.Ā
It mainly dealt with Quinten Beckās Mysterio. And it was basically a more mature version of,Ā āThe Menace Of Mysterioā and basically, Mysterioās first apperance. With Beck trying become a superhero by framing Spider-Man. But after he frames Spider-Man. He tries to showcase heās even more of a hero by deciding to kill criminals. I remember a friend of mine understanding that he called him an evil(er) version of Neil Druckmann/Quentin Tarantino/Ken Levine.
Even though I was really gonna look into his story because comics had gone in more depth with him.
Other characters like Mary Jane, Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn, Aunt May, and the employees at the Daily Bugle would be involved. With the main story of Peter recalling why he became Spider-Man in the first place. And with Mysterio practically being a foil to him. And there is the inclusion of Silver Stable being brought to take down Spider-Man. But her job has become more troubling with Mysterio. Yet I question if I still want her in this.Ā
Including it developed into something like the upcoming The Batman movie. With maybe Beck losing it more because the police hate the fact heās begun killing criminals. But anyway, I wanna leave as it is. I just remembered the Silver Stable part. I wanna talk about the one I thought of the most. The one that I really wanted to do. Forgot to put Captain Stacy in this. Since I just wrote him down in part 2.
-
Part 2.
This idea is basically my The Dark Knight for Spider-Man. Like, literally. With the idea of using the Green Goblin, and really showcasing how dangerous the character is. And I really wanted to test the words,Ā āWith great power comes great responsibilityā.
Think of this story if the Green Goblin replace the Joker in The Dark Knight. And you replace certain characters with Spider-Man characters. But if I recall, itās mainly this idea of Goblin trying to teach Spider-Man the consequences of being a superhero.Ā
Going in line with his original version like he first appeared. This is Norman Osborn. But itās never revealed until the end. And itās kind of a mystery. And with Norman faking his death by a terrorist attack by the Green Goblin. With Norman before that, acting like an older and kind fatherly figure. When in reality, heās a genuine horrible person hiding behind a persona. And with the Goblin persona, his abilities and all that. He uses the Green Goblin as an outlet to unleash who he truly is. Going with what how the 616 version of him is. Thereās no split personality.
I will admit, the faking his own death thing might backfire on him if he wins. Maybe him with a back up plan that Norman was alive, and was taken hostage by the Goblin. With Norman making it look like that.
In a nutshell, the Green Goblin is practically who Norman is deep inside. And he tries to become the leader of organized crime. Until he meets Spider-Man. Where in this version, Green Goblin is like a cruel teacher, and he wants to really teach Spider-Man what itās the huge consequences of being a superhero.
This dude is literally more like a boogeyman. Heās if Arkham Knightās Scarecrow and Heath Ledgerās Joker were fused into one. But heās also basically if Ghostface was a supervillain with powers and gadgets. He has the glider, but he does other shit. Despite his original intention, he becomes Hell bent on making Spider-Man understand the responsibility of what heās doing.Ā
With Green Goblin becoming more of a terrorist. That it becomes so bad. That Silver Stable is brought in likely by Captain George Stacy. That this problem with costumed people has gone too far.Ā
Goblin is killing members of the Wild Pack, police officers, and heās just causing chaos to bring Spider-Man down. But when he figures out who Spider-Man is. It becomes even more personal.
At first, it seems like the story is gonna go the way of,Ā āThe Night Gwen Stacy Diedā. And itās scary because Gwen knows who Peter is, and is with him. But itās different, with not Goblin taking an unconscious Gwen to the Brooklyn Bridge. Itās still the Brooklyn Bridge. But instead he kidnaps her, leaves her tied and gagged surrounded by a bunch of barrels that will explode. Thereās no Spider-Man accidently killing Gwen with his webs. But instead...what happens is...much worse. To me personally.
Spider-Man saves Gwen, and stops the barrels from exploding. But it doesnāt go the route of,Ā āWhat if Gwen Stacy had lived?ā storyline. Instead, the Green Goblinās plan wasnāt to kill Gwen. But something to destroy both her, and Peter mentally.
Instead, when Peter tries to go back to Mayās house. Aunt May is literally killed by a bunch of hidden explosions. And during the same time or a little later. Captain George Stacy in his office is killed by similar hidden explosions.Ā
What happened is that because Goblin found out who Spider-Man was, and knew who he was dating. He felt like it was too easy to kill Gwen. But he wanted to do something possibly more extreme. Something that would still make Peter snap. But also destroy his relationship with Gwen.
He took the words from Spider-Man 2002,Ā āThe heart Osborn. First, we attack his heartā to literal heart. He kills Aunt May, and George Stacy in the most horrific way. Including destroying the home Peter grew up in. And after some time. Goblin literally calls Peter to pretty much rub it in that these are the consequences of him being Spider-Man. And that Gwen wasnāt the one he wanted to kill. With him possibly ending the conversation, talking about how itās gonna end.
That it will end with one of them dying. But he doesnāt care. If Green Goblin kill Spider-Man, he wins. If Spider-Man kills Green Goblin, Spider-Man will be viewed maybe more as a menace. Because he likely killed Green Goblin out of pure rage. Which Goblin tried to create, he unleashes the anger that Peter tries to hold in. And with his mother figure killed in such a way, and a friend who was like a new father figure killed in a similar fashion. Itās literally a cruel test Goblin is trying to pull.
And in the end, during some stuff, with Spider-Man nearly killing Goblin like in the comics. But soon stopping himself when he learns that it was Norman all along. And it ends with Norman like the 2002 film and comics, accidently killing himself with the gilder. He never comes back, heās truly dead.
On one point, Spider-Man stops himself from killing Goblin, and Norman kills himself instead. But the other point is something else instead. Norman is revealed to the the Green Goblin, putting Oscorp in a heap of shit, and people looking at Harry strangely. And despite comforting each other, but because of the horrible events.
Gwen decides that itās maybe best to break up with Peter. Understanding her being with Peter seemed to have gotten her father killed. She doesnāt hate Peter. But she seems to hate Spider-Man. That persona, not Peter himself.Ā
-
Part 3.Ā
This was the most challenging one. Because I really wondered about the villains. There was Kraven with possibly a Kravenās Last Hunt story. Hobgoblin because Peter would lose his shit at another Goblin. But also the idea of the symbiote suit being in the story. And during this whole development process from last year. Characters like Miles and Black Cat were involved. But Iām not sure now. With the idea that Miles may become a Spider-Man one day. And Black Cat being bothered by black suit Spider-Man.
Yet recently, despite it may feel overstuffed. But itās not three villains. And it could be as long as it wants.Ā
This part is basically Spider-Man 2 fused with Spider-Man 3. With the big focus of the aftermath of Green Goblin's destruction upon New York City. And Peterās grief with the loss of Aunt May, George Stacy, and Gwen deciding to leave him. Despite he fully understands and respects Gwen for leaving him. But itās hard.
But also with Mary Jane truly becoming Peterās true love. After the traumatic loss and Gwen leaving New York. I know and understand Gwenās death was a huge part of changing Mary Jane as a person because they were friends with a friendly rivalry that I recall. I...wanted to make it less depressing. Despite May was the one replacing Gwenās death. Because that seems maybe more powerful, it depends on how you see it. Mainly with the idea that May never did anything wrong, and it was such an easy kill for Goblin. Itās like Uncle Benās death all over again.
Yet again, the concept of part 3 is of Peter truly embracing being Spider-Man. And not letting his darkness take ahold of him after the death of the woman that raised him. With the symbiote bringing out repressed anger even more. And made worse after the death of Aunt May.Ā
But itās Mary Jane that helps him overcome that darkness. And I wanna share this video that explains that more. Because I feel like that couldāve been an amazing plot point for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 if done right.Ā
The video is by Sevenwebheads. I loved this guy before he sadly left YouTube out of nowhere.
youtube
And with how I talked about this part. It being Spider-Man 2 fused with Spider-Man 3. The villains being Doc Ock, and Venom. And in a sense, Peter is his own villain. Because of the symbiote.Ā
Itās possible Doc Ock like his 2004 film version is maybe more sympathetic. And honestly more understandable as a villain than Norman Osborn.Ā
Quentin Beck/Mysterio is a man who is crushed by his ambitions, and being a foil to Peterās belief about responsibility and being a superhero.
Silver Stable is a mercenary thatās more like a complex character. Yet gets into conflict with Spider-Man. Not really a villain.
The Green Goblin/Norman Osborn in this is pretty much the embodiment of pure evil. Practically enjoying what he is doing, and not caring what the consequences are. A total anti-thesis to everything Spider-Man represents. And would make other villains or anti heroes look at him like,Ā āWhat the fuck is wrong with you!?ā
With Doc Ock again, being more sympathetic, but still a villain. Akin to Spider-Man 2ā²s Alfred Molina. And Eddie Brock, who I think should have sprinkled throughout this three part story.Ā
With Venom and Eddie. I really like them both, I really do. But I wanted to do a version that would make sense. Instead of copying the 616 version or only the Ultimate version. Considering in a sense, the 616 Eddie isnāt much of a foil to Peter. Where the Ultimate version seems more like that in a sense.
I feel like the symbiote shouldnāt be an alien from outer space. Because that opens a whole can of worms. I seriously feel like the alien aspect doesnāt mesh with the more grounded take of Spider-Man. And it just at times makes me feel fine with the idea of Venom not being included in Spider-Manās mythos. Despite how iconic he is.
So the symbioteās origins would be more involved with science than from outer space. And with Eddie not only being a bit more complex. Yet he is also a foil to both Peter and Mary Jane. While you can understand him, he practically becomes more unhinged and possibly has some relations with Peter like in Ultimate and Spectacular. And when I think about, even using some elements from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 mobile game version of Eddie/Venom.
His character would be more in line with how Todd McFarlane and David Michelinie introduced the character. But while there is some dark comedy. Itās seriously more frightening. Another boogeyman in a sense like Green Goblin. With his first appearance being like in The Amazing Spider-Man issue 299. And Venom representing one of the many mistakes Spider-Man made. That being the birth of Venom and it bonding to Eddie Brock. Creating a villain that Peter feels responsible for.
I guess in a sense, I wanted to use three of Spider-Man biggest villains. Those being Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Venom. With Mysterio and Silver Stable included. There is the idea of Carnage. Even though I liked the inclusion of Carnage in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game. And Cletus is truly a foil to everything Peter is. I really wanted to showcase Venom as that. Still wondering about Black Cat because I love Felicia.
With this part. Considering how tough this whole trilogy is. This part is basically I guess, the light in the darkest hour.Ā
Where you have moments like a black suited Spider-Man nearly killing Doc Ock, and even before that, ripping off one of his arms, or maybe all of them. Iām not sure. But itās nearly killing Doc Ock that truly makes Peter if his anger has truly gone too far. And an interaction with Mary Jane who is the biggest person who has been comforting him. Helping him through his grief, after everything that had happened with him.Ā
Peter chooses Mary Jane over keeping the symbiote. And because of his rejection of the symbiote, it bonds with Eddie. Who is practically a final test for Peter in this story. The dark reflection of what he couldāve became. A man despite you can feel for him. Eddie slowly became more sociopathic, became more irresponsible, and becoming more consumed with hate and anger.
The light rising above dark, and moving on with life. Because if we cling on to the past. Weāll be stuck there forever. And with Peter being a pessimist who has optimistic moments. This whole trilogy is like an endurance test of him as Spider-Man.Ā
I really wanted to bring to life the earlier stories of Spider-Man from Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Itās basically a love letter to the character and his mythos. Focusing on some more darker elements like Peterās anger issues, and other things. But also dealing with the many themes about the character. But itās even more rough when you replace Spider-Man 2ā²s Doc Ock with Green Goblin. And you maybe place Doc Ock in Spider-Man 3.Ā
Even though I feel like Sam Raimiās Spider-Man trilogy is maybe the perfect representation of the character. Despite all the criticisms towards Spider-Man 3. And other peopleās nitpicks among many things. I feel like those films REALLY got Spider-Man right. Along with others like The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon and others.
Think Iāve said enough. Iāll talk other stuff in the reblogs. But yeah...which Iāll say this in a reblog. Despite I donāt mind flawed films...I wished The Amazing Spider-Man franchise took a direction like this.Ā

Okay, so I no longer have the energy to discuss Marvel stuff at length, but I enjoyedĀ Black Widow, to my surprise. I went in with low expectations, but it ended up being solid. Was it a groundbreaking movie? No. But Iād rank it as one of the best MCU films and it felt like a nice change of pace from your standard MCU fare. The film avoided prioritizing action over character arcs and didn't interrupt the story with unnecessary and often distracting humor.Ā It's become increasingly obvious over recent years just how much the MCU has started to suffer from what made it unique and innovative in the first placeāan interconnected cinematic universe. Everything feels like it's a stepping stone to some big event (hah, in that way, it's emulating the comics well), with characters's stories hastily and sloppily pushed aside for The Main Team Event TM.Ā
And that's why Black Widow worked. It didn't have world-ending stakes. It wasn't about one Big Bad (the big bad in this story, much like in CA:TWS, is the system which is why the "main boss" didn't have to be impressive andĀ intimidating on his own). The story felt quiet and contemplative in between the action scenes. It was very intimate and the story benefited tremendously from that. What happened in this movie was something that would mean very little to anyone other than the people directly involved and would go unnoticed.Ā
This isn't something that the whole world will know about and praise her for, and no one treats it as such, both in terms of the characters and the people behind the film. With the exception of a few lines and moments, this film isn't cringeworthy, in-your-face, and ultimately shallow GIRL POWER GIRLBOSS OMG FEMINISM which Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman (and that one stupid as hell scene in IW) both leaned into and imo, were either hindered by or even suffered from. This story is very much one about the patriarchy, misogyny, agency, etc., but it tries to see what the personal ramifications are and how sickening and even banal it all is. Itās about how the world works and treats women, no matter who they are. Itās about how Dreykov, for all his power, is a dime a dozen. The world made it possible for men like Dreykov to exist and do harm. The world goes on without him there, and in the wake of his death and the destruction of the Red Room, his victims still have to deal with all the pain and figure out what they want to do, how they want to do it, and who they want to be afterwards.
Obviously, we also got to see more of Natasha and who she is, what makes her tick, and how her past formed the person she is now. And yes, I dislike Scarjo so I was ready to not care about the movie, but god, I love Natasha and miss her so badly. I ended up unexpectedly crying when the film started and didn't stop until the opening credits ended, not even because something was sad but because that was Natasha! When kid Natasha whipped out her gun and shielded Yelena, I recognized both that skill and heart instantly and it hit me hard. You got that repeatedly throughout the film, and it knits together all the little pieces of Natasha we got throughout the decade. It gives her consistency and strengthens what we already know drives her: her desire to atone and protect and her yearning for a family.
The supporting cast was good too. You could tell they had fun and you could tell they had the acting chops. I get very leery of actors who go over the top in the MCU because almost all the time, it ends up backfiring and undermining their character, but David Harbour had a lot of fun with Alexei and it never bothered me. And I think that's because, behind all of the bombast, there was real emotion behind it that he took seriously and the others did as well. Rachel Weisz...I mean, I don't think I need to say anything more. You expect her to be good and of course she was. And Florence? Yes, this might not be 616 Yelena in many, many ways and I can see how that's upsetting to people (this applies to theĀ Taskmaster as well), but if you see MCU Yelena as her own person, man. Florence overshadows Scarjo which, well, isn't surprising considering her brilliance, but I will say, though, that part of it is because Yelena is a much more energetic character whereas Natasha is more introverted and even a little awkward and shy at times.Ā
I loved the relationships and they all felt real to me. When they said they were a family? I believed them. When you saw them grapple with what they'd done in the past and what they did to each other and to other people? That felt real too.Ā
And the action scenes! Wow, did I miss actually good fight choreography after three horrible shows full of goofy af fight scenes that had bad choreography and were terribly shot (the less we talk about Loki, the better, though TFATWS, which probably should have had the slickest shots had by far the worst cinematography). The fights were engaging and you really sensed the urgency and danger in every fight. I felt like Natasha was in danger, that she would get hurt. The hits HURTĀ and you could tell how painful that walloping was (with the exception of the ridiculous scene where Dreykov punched her repeatedly in the face and there was no sign of impact). Everyone felt very human and very easy to break.Ā
The flow was great and maybe it was slow for some people, but I liked that. I liked that the story took its time to unfold. I liked that you didn't sense any impatience or panic. Everything happened in its own time, but it never dragged for me. There was a great balance between emotional, quiet moments and bursts of action, and neither felt like they undermined the other, a frequent issue I have with MCU works (yet again, one of the best examples and most recent ones is Loki; I hated the fight sequences because they felt so unnecessary and they truly disrupted the flow of things).
Were there things that I wish we got more of or thought could have been tightened up better? Yeah. I wish we got to see more of the Widows, for one thing. I also think it would have been interesting for Natasha to mull over the brainwashing she had versus what Yelena went through; what Yelena went through was much worse and similar to what Bucky went through, but Yelena has the excuse of being a victim with little to no free will whereas Natasha? She was psychologically messed with, but she wasn't being mind controlled. It would've been interesting to see that explored more in depth. I wish we got to see more of the Taskmaster. Etc. etc.
More than anything, though, what left me sad and disappointed after my initial joy and feeling of enjoyment dissipated, was the fact that this came too late. This is a movie that should have come right after CW, and we should have gotten a Black Widow movie right after the Avengers and before TWS or at least after TWS. This is, by far, the most unanimous take and it makes me wonder how everyone at Marvel feels about that, that this is, more than anything, the opinion that's being echoed consistently amongst reviewers and moviegoers alike. And it will never ever ever ever ever fail to piss me off that Markus, McFeely, and the Russos didn't know the Black WidowĀ movie was going to even happen and they ended up offing her. That's a massive decision and I don't know, MAYBE you should have had some more communication! Maybe if that happened, Natasha wouldn't have been fridged (she shouldn't have been in the first place, and one of the things I deeply appreciated about this movie was that it pushed back on the wrongs that male directors andĀ writersĀ have done to her (e.g., Whedon's awful approach to her forced sterilization in AoU, the Russos and M&M saying Clint couldn't die because he had a family as if someone who isn't a parent is less important and less deserving to live and as if Natasha's relationships didn't matter)). Maybe we would have gotten more solo movies with her. We can still get more BW movies, sure, but Natasha herself deserved more.Ā
And that's why, despite thinking this is one of the best movies of the MCU even if the story itself isn't particularly sensational and not being blown away by it (again, I didn't think it was impressive, but I thought it was very solid), despite being pleasantly surprised by the fact that I enjoyed a MCU movie which is rare for me and walking away with barely anything to be disappointed about let alone upset about, despite thinking that this is the story Natasha deserved and being relieved and happy that this is what she got and this is how she's going to go out, I was still left sad for what could have been and what she deserved.Ā

Jan/Feb 2021 Picks
HELLO! Itās been a while, but IāM BACK!! Life has gotten a lot busier as I started Grad School this January. So, I feel it may be tough being on time with future Monthly Wraps like Iāve done in the past with working on my MFA, and my job. Iām going to probably do more seasonal wrap ups when I get the time. I also think Iāll be posting more individual posts as I watch an episode. Because even with a busier schedule, there is always time for TV and thereās so much I want to talk about!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d4c4ae48505f5057e8f4bc4be3c1120d/3b15eaebaad634cf-b9/s540x810/372e92e31229e3a32eb55061e0d4b660e5bf125c.jpg)
You know the drill. Spoilers are coming.....
Youāve been warned :)

WANDAVISION
I want to start off by mentioning that I have not watched this weekās episode yet. So the last one I saw was EPISODEĀ 6 with Halloween in the late 90s/early 2000s.
THIS SHOW! OMG.
I didnāt know what I was signing up for when I watched the first episode and I have been blown away. It is such a cool concept and I love the fact that everyone who watches it is confused. There have been so many interesting theories out there and I am so curious what is going to wind up being true. I love all the nods to old sitcoms and TV shows as well as all the MCU Easter Eggs. (I mean they got X-menās Quicksilver-like WOW.) It feels really Black Mirror at times with the breaking of the fourth wall. I will never be able to shake the feeling I got in Episode 3, when Vision reversed. (And then I saw a bunch of videos with him looking at the camera as Wanda looks at the TV. Eww I donāt like it, but itās such a good move on their point.) I love the outside plot as well and the characters who were previously side characters in other MARVEL movies. The love for Jimmy Woo is astounding and Iām here for it. Iām glad itās Friday, so I can watch the next episode. Iām just upset that weāre so close to the show ending. The next Disney Plus Marvel shows better be just as good. Wandavision set the bar high.Ā Ā

NANCY DREW
If youāve visited this page recently, you know I have a very strong love for this show. It is the only one I am still watching religiously on the CW and I am tuning in the night it airs. (That is HUGE for me.) IT IS JUST SO GOOD AND I DONāT KNOW WHERE TO START....
2x05 just aired, which would have been the season 1 finale before COVID and I have it saved on my DVR to watch again. Thereās just so much I want to relive and catch that I missed the first watch through. It would have been SUCH A GOOD FINALE, but Iām happy that we can continue with new episodes starting next week. And with the way it ended...thereās so much I need to know!! Iām just curious how fast theyāre going to develop certain plots. I love the Drew Crew and how they are a family. Each character is so well developed and their chemistry is great. I love learning more about each of them and watching them develop. My favorite character is definitely Ace. I love all his witty lines and how he is opening up more to the group as well as to us, the audience, as we get more of a look into his personal life. I enjoy all of his scenes with his dad and specifically liked when they were celebrating Shabbat. (I am also here for the Nancy and Ace content. I gush more about this on my other blog: lydia-whogowith-stiles. Check it out if you want to hear more.)

THE WATCH
When I watched the Christmas special (or was it New Years? and why does that feel so long ago) of Doctor Who, BBC America kept advertising a new show called the Watch. Due to the extensive amount of commercials, I decided to tape the first two episodes (which premiered back to back) to see what it was all about. I was unaware that this series is based on the book series created by Terry Pratchett. When I came to see if people were talking about it on Tumblr, I saw that a lot of people didnāt like it because of how drastically different it was. As I was unfamiliar with the original, I canāt compare. The TV show was eight episodes and I just watched the last one that aired this past Sunday. I definitely liked the first half of the season more (I noticed my mind start to drift as I watched later ones), but thought the finale was good. I really enjoyed how they incorporated the theme song. I didnāt realize the connection earlier and now canāt stop humming it. (I donāt know if there will be another season or not.) I enjoyed the characters and how it was like nothing Iāve seen on TV before. It got me thinking a lot about blending genres. I would still recommend checking it out.Ā Ā

ZOEYāS EXTRORDINARY PLAYLIST
I was VERY excited for this show to come back. I loved the first season so much. Itās just such a heartfelt show and it helped me survive the early parts of quarantine. So far, this season I am noticing how detailed the musical performances are. Mandy Moore is doing an AMAZING job. The choreography is *chefs kiss* I also feel like the song choices have been great and not always the ones I think that would be picked. We are getting to learn more about each character and watch Zoey and her family as they continue life after losing Mitch. I am here for Mo and Maxās restaurant. I think the concept would be so cool in real life. Who knows maybe weāll see one now. (Maxās rendition ofĀ āNumbā was amazing. Iāve never heard the song like that and I think it might be one of my favorites of the season so far.) I hope Max and Zoey get back together by the end of the season. It did feel fast, so I do understand why they had to break up, but it still makes me sad that we watched them get together and then it was taken away from us. The last episode before the break was so powerful and I think the show did an amazing job applying real world issues into their plot. It did not feel forced at all and brought so much awareness. Upset we have to wait so long for a new episode.Ā

SECRETS OF SULPHUR SPRINGS
Are you looking for a good mystery, but donāt think Disney Channel can provide it? Think again. I have to say, when I started watching I was not expecting this show to be a part of my monthly picks. It pleasantly surprised me. The show involves the mystery of a young girl, Savannah, who went mysteriously missing at camp back in the 90s. Apparently, her ghost still haunts the hotel that was on the camp grounds to this day. Then Griffin and his family buy the hotel with intent of fixing it up and reopening it after all these years. The people in the town think theyāre crazy because of its past. But thereās something more going on with Griffinās dad as well as some of the other adults in the town. They know something about Savannahās disappearance, but arenāt saying anything about it. While this is a kidās show (and only half hour episodes) it has been interesting to see where the story will go. Iām sure I am imagining much more intense things for her disappearance than what actually happened. Itās also not super cheesy or have bad acting, which is refreshing. (I really feel Disney Channel has gone down.) Either way, I donāt know how many episodes are left to air, but I think weāre pretty close to the end. If youāre looking for a quick, entertaining mystery I would highly recommend.Ā Ā

MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE
And here come my period pieces (ironically both from Masterpiece/PBS this time). I know last year I felt like I watched a lot of historical watches at the beginning of the year. Weāll see if that continues to happen this year too. It does serve as a nice escape. Plus, these are some really good stories.Ā
Miss Scarlet and the Duke is a part of Masterpiece Mystery on PBS, although it aired on a different network in the UK. It is (another) mystery series (shocking I know with that title!) It follows Eliza Scarlet who has a nose for mystery, but as a woman living in the Victorian era does not have any rights except for being a wife and mother (two things she would rather not be). When her father dies (apparently from a heart attack...emphasis on apparently), she takes over his Private Investigator business. Much to the dismay of long time family friend WilliamĀ āThe Dukeā who is a Detective Inspector for Scotland Yard. Eliza is often in his office as she gets arrested for being places she shouldnāt or trying to get information out of him. This element of Eliza having to work in a very male dominated Victorian society is one that I feel I havenāt really seen on a TV show. I really like her dynamic with William. Thereās always that feeling ofĀ āwill they wonāt they,ā but I donāt feel the show just focuses on that. The mystery is the heart of it all. This last weekās episode was REALLY GOOD. As we got to find out more regarding her fatherās death. I hear a lot of people want a season 2 and I am right there with them. This show deserves it.Ā

ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL
Another PBS Masterpiece watch. I love this show, so much more than I was anticipating. It is so heartfelt and makes me so happy and in a good mood after watching it. It follows James Herriot who has recently graduated from veterinary school, but is struggling finding a job. Then he gets a call fromĀ Siegfried Farnonās veterinary practice in Yorkshire. Siegfried is known for having a harsh demeanor and temper, so the assistants he hires donāt often last long. Spoiler alert, that should be pretty obvious, James does. The cast of characters are so lovely and I like all their relationships with one another. The show takes places in the 1930s and I realized I donāt often watch things in this era, so that has been fun to explore. The sets and locations are BEAUTIFUL. In the episodes, we often get these amazing shots that sweep over the exterior and I want to travel to Yorkshire like tomorrow. (See more escapism, itās great.) The main plot follows everyone interact in the town and watching James become a more confident and experienced veterinarian (which I decided I could never do after watching). I heard that it has been renewed for a second season so that is so fantastic.Ā
FATE: THE WINX SAGA
The first things I heard about this show was how disappointed everyone was in how they decided to adapt the Winx Club show from their childhood. On this I can agree, but I decided to watch the show anyway. I pretended that it was something new entirely and I have to say I enjoyed it. Of course, there were parts that bothered me and then I had to remember it was a teen show, so angst would be annoying. I think overall it was too short (and should have at least 8 or 10 episodes), but Iām happy that they were able to conclude the main plot well. (Although we did get that cliffhanger, but it is exciting that it was released the show just got renewed for a second season the other day.) I really liked Silva-mainly because it was great seeing Thomas from Downton Abbey in something else. I also enjoyed seeing Jacob Duchman in more things. It was a surprise to see him in Medici and I am just happy he is adding more to his IMDB.Ā
Quick and addicting watch. Add it to your queue. Just forget itās supposed to be based on something else.Ā

BLOWN AWAY SEASON 2
ContinuingĀ with the Netflix picks, one of my FAVORITE picks from 2020 got a season 2 and it is already on Netflix! Thatās right Blown Away season 2 is now available. I seriously loved the first season of this show SO MUCH! Glass blowing is such a magical process and I am mesmerized every time I watch it. It felt weird starting this show with all new contestants, but then Alex came back as a guest judge and I was so happy. It is just as addicting and I cannot wait to see who wins this season. I am just trying not to rush the episodes.Ā
VIOLETTA SEASON 3 UPDATE
I know you were all dying to know...
After taking a hiatus from watching during the holidays, I have gotten back into watching the Disney Channel telenovela on Disney Plus. I am now on episode 68. Things are really starting to happen and I am finding myself getting sucked in again, which makes me happy. Episode 60 (pictured above) had A LOT happen and really was a turning point for the second half of the show. Canāt wait to keep watching. Some really awesome songs from these last set of episodes.Ā
AND NOW FOR MY NOT LOVING IT PICK:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a7f91f75cd26655ec86eeb297d03c1d6/3b15eaebaad634cf-e0/s540x810/57824433a707431f7aeb5e39b2555599225f3472.jpg)
LEGACIES
This third season has really disappointedĀ me so far. As Iāve previously discussed on this page, it feels like they are just reusing previous plots from the last two seasons when there is so much more they can do. There was so much promise for this show and I loved the Vampire Diaries and Originals so much, that itās sad to see Legacies miss the mark. I wish they gave Hope more storylines that didnāt revolve around Landon. She is such a strong character and is SO POWERFUL. This is something we rarely see and it shouldnāt only be shown to save a guy (multiple times). Their couple plot is continually doing the same thing. I want to see a lot more development with this show over this season to keep me watching. I am actually happy that there isnāt a new episode until March 11th. (Thatās saying something...)Ā

Emily VanCamp Dishes on What MCU Fans Can Expect From 'The Falcon and the Winter Solider'
Here's why her character, Sharon Carter, is "very, very different" in the new Disney+ series.
Emily VanCamp knows better than to give too much away when discussing the new Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
After all, she understands all too well how hush-hush the Marvel Cinematic Universe can be. The moment Emily first penned her contract to portray the fierce S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter in the 2014 flick Captain America: The Winter Solider, she saw very quickly just how far the superhero franchise will go to keep anyone from spoiling anything.
"When I first signed on, I didn't know who I was playing," Emily recalls to Good Housekeeping about auditioning for Marvel Studios. "I had an idea, but you know, everything is so secretive... You've got to sort of be ready for anything."
Quickly adapting to her environment was a must in the beginning for Emily, who was not a big Marvel comics person before joining the MCU and was promptly given a "Sharon Carter bible" to study once landing the role. This book was filled with every single comic that her character had been a part of up until present day. She had to learn all the different versions of her character as well as the various personas of other characters, and from there bring something unique to the screen. It was a lot of fun, of course, but definitely "overwhelming."
"You want to do these characters justice and certainly want to know what you're talking about," Emily explains.
And so, she is careful to discuss any specific plot points when it comes to Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan) in the new six-episode series, which she also stars in. But here's what she will tell you ā for one, The Falcon and the Winter Solider won't be much like what we've seen most recently from the MCU. In other words, a far departure from the trippy world created in WandaVision.
"Though I have yet to begin WandaVision, I would say The Falcon and the Winter Solider is a much more straightforward, action-packed, adventure story," she explains. "Because there is so much more time in the series vs. a movie, you get to delve into Sam and Bucky's characters a little bit more. They have such an amazing dynamic together and getting to know those characters on a deeper level is really lovely to see."
That said, like WandaVision, the six episodes are all building toward a climax that will ultimately leave fans with both questions and answers.
"The whole point is to keep people guessing," she clarifies. "But the overall theme is a really beautiful one and a really timely one. I think that people are going to connect with [it] on a very deep level."
As for Sharon, her own character, fans may be surprised to see a new version of her emerge. After the agent faded to dust following Thanos (Josh Brolin)'s snap in Avengers: Infinity War, Sharon is coming into this series as a different person ā someone who isn't quite as idealistic as she once was.
"When we see her now, she's a little rough around the edges. She's been on the run, she's had to take care of herself, she mentions that in Civil War that she has to disappear for a little while, and I think here we get a little sense of what she's been up to and how she's had to fend for herself and make her own way in this new world," Emily reveals. "It's a very, very different Sharon... You can imagine that there's a little bitterness there."
She continues to clarify that her "bitterness" is derived from surviving in a challenging world after disappearing, not so much from her lack of closure with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), who decides to travel back to 1949 to be with Sharon's great aunt Peggy at the end of Avengers: Endgame. According to Emily, that lack of closure is "never addressed," though it could possibly feed into Sharon's outlook in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
"Would I say there's a ton of closure for Sharon? No, not really," she declares. "But then again, does anyone ever get closure in these movies and TV shows?"
A fair point. But will Sharon's story continue beyond The Falcon and the Winter Solider? That information, of course, is under lock and key, and even if Emily knew the answer, she's keeping it as a "we'll see" for now.

So, Iām writing Marvel nowā¦
The thing is, Marvel is a special interest for me. Has been for a long time. The MCU while it has its downsides (I will never forgive them for what they did to Steve Rogers.) is one of my favorite movie franchises of all time. Itās a crime that I havenāt written any fics for it yet, honestly.
This isnāt nearly finished, and I have no idea when it will be or how long itāll be. It doesnāt even have a name or full plan yet. But itās a fun project for me. I want to explore the fact that Captain America is from the 40ās, however when he wakes up he is still in his twenties. Heās technically the youngest on the team while simultaneously being way older and being treated as way older than everyone around him. It picks up during the first Avengers film and is written from Tonyās POV. (Again, so far. Itās not done and I could still switch POVās every once in a while.)
All that being said, enjoy!
Steve hates him. He hates Tony. Tony Stark. Son of his old friend, Howard Stark.
The old bastard was right, isnāt that just ironic.
Endless fights over Tony being a disappointment. Being nothing like the Greatest Man Howard Ever Knew. Howard never shut up about the great Captain America, so of course Tony knew this was coming.
Tony had tried when he was younger, he did. Heād tried to be better, braver, stronger, faster, witty in a way Howard would appreciate. But after a while heād realized that no matter what he did, no matter how hard he tried, heād never live up to what Howard wanted from him. Howard said daily that Captain America, Steve Rogers, would be disgusted by Tony. And Tony had just about recently decided that he was moving on from all of his daddy issues and metaphorically telling Howard to shove his criticisms very far up his ass. And, isnāt this just the kicker, Steve Rogers is right in front of him confirming it all.
āBig man in a suit of armor. Take that off, what are you?ā
Exactly what everyone thinks I am, obviously.
āGenius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.ā
What? Heās not about to make it easy on Captain America of all people. If anyone can handle his sass, itās the so called bravest man who ever lived.
āI know guys with none of that worth ten of you. Yeah, I've seen the footage. The only thing you really fight for is yourself. You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you.ā
Wow, okay. Heās really laying it on, isn't he? He must be really pissed. In all honesty, Tony hadnāt thought it would be so easy to get to him. Or, rather, to get him to a point where heās actually making personal, cutting blows.
Still, Tony doesnāt want to cause an actual fight. If he wanted that heād have started off a little more strong, like how Rogers is. What with all the steam coming from his ears. Howard hadnāt mentioned the potentially problematic short fuse in all his ramblings. Whatever, just keep deflecting and find a way to defuse, then. Heās been around long enough to know when the right time to fight is. Currently they have a volatile, murderous psychopath who obviously wants them all fighting on board, so now is not a good time.
āI think I would just cut the wire.ā
There, nice and simple. Thereās no way Mr. Short Fuse can turn that into-
āAlways a way out... You know, you may not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be a hero.ā
Now heās done it. Heās honestly tempted to say āOr what?ā. Just curiosity speaking, what would Rogers do? And, another thing, Tony has never claimed to be a hero. Sure, heās saved a few people, and yeah, heās trying to save the world currently, but the hero label was all but thrown at him the moment he came out to the world as Iron Man. He doesnāt want to be a hero, all he wants right now is for Rogers to get off his damn high horse.
āA hero? Like you? You're a lab rat, Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle!ā
He hadnāt meant to say that. Truly, he hadnāt. Heās supposed to be actively diffusing the situation. But honestly it was an achievement heād gone that long without actually retaliating. You can only push a man so far-
āPut on the suit, let's go a few rounds.ā
Heās not succeeding in his endeavor to not fight Captain America. His dad is likely screeching from his penthouse in hell.
He moves away from Rogers just in time for the locator to go off, signifying that theyāve found what they were looking for. This is followed by an argument about who is going to get it, a rather horrifying revelation that his new best friend besides Rhodey, Pepper and Happy, (Yes, he has claimed this already, he just has to convince Bruce.) has tried to kill himself, and then suddenly Captain America is trying to fight him, again.
āPut on the suit, letās find out!ā
āIām not afraid to hit an old man.ā He replies calmly, though a little heated.
Itās just oh so ironic, (This whole conversation has been filled to the brim with irony.) that as Tony says that he laments how immature theyāre acting. Seriously, the guyās in his nineties, why is he pulling Tony into this? The irony strikes him then and there, as heās watching Rogers get all riled up. Captain America is practically a kid.
Itās kind of funny to think about. Captain America, the man out of time, heās only in his twenties. Tony is twenty years older than him, mentally. Now itās not about fighting his fathers old friend. Itās not even about the fact that this is Captain America, and how anti-patriotic it would be to deck him.
No, Tony wont fight a twenty-something year old. Itās not dignified. It wouldnāt even be fair. Rogers hasnāt had the time to fully develop patience like Tony has. His brain hasnāt aged just as his body hasnāt. No wonder he has such a short fuse, Tony was the same way when he was young.
Something explodes while his brain is having this revelation, and he realizes that this is an attack. Good thing they werenāt fighting each other, then.
Steve helps him up after theyāre both thrown across the room from the blast.
āPut on the suit.ā
Tony nods, finally agreeing with the man on something.
āYep.ā
-
Of course they would end up working together to fix the turbine. Thatās the way the world works. Rogers hates Tony, and Tony wonāt fight him, which seems to be making Rogers more angry. But now all of that has to be put aside for the greater good. Hopefully theyāll be able to do this before another turbine goes down and the whole boat falls from the sky.
āWhatās it look like in there?ā
Tony really needs this to go well. Surely Rogers canāt be too inept with technology. Heās young, young people are the future of technology! He even understood the Wizard of Oz reference earlier, so heās sort of up to date, right?
āIt seems to run on some form of electricity!ā
So much for his optimism. Despite the feeling that this is going to end horribly, his mouth quirks a bit. Thatās why it had taken him so long to put together how young Rogers actually is.
Still, this has to be tough for the guy, heās clearly out of his depth here and is trying to help.
āWell, youāre not wrong.ā
He teaches Rogers how to fix the relays, which takes some time given that he canāt personally guide the project. Heās a bit busy clearing the debris from the turbine and trying to keep up with the flying boatās speed enough to stay beside it. You would think theyād stop moving so he can just hover and do repairs, but no! Although he does suppose that there is quite a bit of commotion happening inside too. Enough to warrant not slowing down, maybe.
āEven if I clear the rotors, this thing won't re-engage without a jump. I'm gonna have to get in there and push.ā
āWell if that thing gets up to speed, you'll get shredded!ā
Aw, heās worried. Asshole.
Does this count as laying on the wire? Is this technically superhero-ing right now? Is this enough to prove to Rogers he has the right intentions? He hopes so.
āThen stay in the control unit and reverse polarity long enough to disengage mag-ā
āSpeak! English!ā
Tony nearly laughs. He hadnāt realized how charming Rogers actually is, underneath all of the high and mighty hero stuff.
āUnless, Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantum tunneling effectā.
āWell, if he could do that he could achieve Heavy Ion Fusion at any reactor on the planet.ā Bruce responds, understanding every word. Oh, Tony might just be in love.
āFinally, someone who speaks English.ā
āIs that what just happened?ā
It was a sly little comment, but it was there. He should have picked up on it at the time. Captain Rogers is funny.
āSee that red lever? It'll slow the rotors down long enough for me to get out. Stand by it, wait for my word.ā
He watches the man jump over to the lever, landing a little too close to the edge for comfort. Then instead of dwelling on the fact that he was concerned for Captain Americaās safety, he goes into the turbine and starts to push.
While heās pushing, thereās some gunfire. Also some rushing coming from Director Fury in his earpiece. He wonders if anyone has come out to help Rogers, and then realizes that obviously Rogers can handle himself, so why would anyone? Eventually the turbine feels like it's moving faster than him, so itās time to get out.
āCap, I need the lever!ā
āI need a minute here!ā
Uh oh. That wonāt do at all.
āLever! Now!ā
This is so not how he wanted this to go. He falls into a rotor, and slides down into the bottom part of the turbine. He is so screwed. Heās going to break his spine, or his neck. Heās going to die fixing a boat engine. Engineās are his bitch, he canāt die fixing an engine!
Suddenly the rotors let up, and it only takes Tony a split second to fly out and assess his damage. His suitās going to give out on him. Any second now surely. He should get out of the air-
Lokiās men are on Rogers with guns, how is that a fair fight?
At least, thatās what he thinks before he tackles one and takes them right through the side of the boat with him, finally hitting the ground and letting the suit turn off.
He canāt quite see anymore, and he canāt quite tell if it's the suit or his eyes that are damaged. He was knocked around quite a bit. Maybe itās a concussion? He hopes itās temporary, he canāt work if heās blind.
Actually, scratch that. That sounds ableist. It also sounds like heās doubting himself, which heād never do. He very much can work if heās blind. Plenty of people do it every day.
He feels tired, a bit hazy. Heād been knocked around maybe too much. Is Steve okay? He looks up, and the captain is jumping back into the ship. Good.
Definitely a concussion, he thinks, letting his head fall back and passing out.
-
Coulson died. Loki killed him.
Tony hasnāt been on this boat for too long now, but heās starting to think this is a suicide mission. Agent Coulson was Pepperās friend; howās he going to tell her? How will the news reach the cellist he was involved with?
āThere was an idea, Stark knows this, called The Avengers Initiative-ā
He hasnāt been listening, and was honestly okay with the numb indifference of his thoughts. Anything not to hear Furyās words. Lies, honestly. Thereās no excuse for the arsenal that was being built, regardless of if Fury hadnāt bet on it in the first place. And now- what? He wants to use Tony and the others as the replacement arsenal? They canāt even save one agent, let alone the world.
āā¦to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea, in heroes.ā
Tony stands, unable to hear anymore of this. Tonyās no hero. If Coulson was smarter, he never would have believed in heroes in the first place.
-
āWas he married?ā
He looks at Rogers, at his attempt at starting a tough conversation. He sees why everyone likes the guy, really. Even after their almost-fight he comes to attempt to comfort Tony. Tony, for his part, isnāt even sure why heās taking Coulsonās death so hard. Itās not like they were friends.
He just- well, it feels like this death is on him.
āNo. There was a uh...cellist, I think.ā
Thereās no one to inform about his death. No one to send condolence flowers to. Pepper might mourn, his coworkers may also. The cellistā¦ well, she won't be able to pick up their fling again.
.
āI'm sorry. He seemed like a good man.ā
Steve Rogers has a good heart. He may be quick tempered, but he has a good heart.
āHe was an idiot.ā
āWhy? For believing?ā
For believing in them. Believing in this stupid, sorry excuse for a team.
āFor taking on Loki alone.ā
āHe was doing his job.ā
Oh, yes, defend the dead guy. Make this argument harder. It was easier to hate Rogers earlier, when he was being irrational.
It circles back to there not always being a way out, and Tony thinks thatās bullshit. He doesnāt take well to being told things are impossible or unavoidable. If something isnāt going to work, he makes it work. Coulson should have thought ahead. He should have waited. He should have-
Better not go down that avenue.
He starts to walk away, and Rogers compares them to soldiers. Right, that makes sense. Thatās why Rogers took the death so calmly. He was a soldier in a war. Heās used to losing people and having to move forward immediately. He probably has already figured out how not to blame himself for every death heās ever witnessed.
āRight now we've got to put that aside and get this done. Now Loki needs a power source, if we can put together a listā¦ā
Tony briefly wonders if it's healthy to compartmentalize like that. It canāt be. But then he spots the blood on the wall and his brain moves on to another thought. Rogers is right, anyway. They need to focus.
āHe made it personal.ā
āThatās not the point.ā Rogers replies, not catching the point just yet.
āThat is the point. That's Loki's point. He hit us all right where we live. Why?ā He needs to explain. The man will get it if he explains. Sometimes he forgets that not everyoneās brain does the jumps his own does.
āTo tear us apart.ā
āYes! Divide and conquer is great, but he knows he has to take us
out to -
win, right? That's what he wants. He wants to beat us and he wants to be seen doing it. He wants an audience.ā
āRight,ā Heās catching on, thankfully. āI caught his act at Stuttengart.ā
āYeah. That's just previews, this is opening night. Loki's a full-tail diva. He wants flowers, he wants parades, he wants a monument built in the skies with his name plasteredā¦ā Tony stops, revelation forming. Steve looks fully interested in wherever this is going.
āSon of a bitch!ā
āWhat?ā
āBig ugly building in New York!ā
Rogersā eyes go wide, āLet's go.ā He orders, Tony already moving.
-
The battle was terrifying. There were aliens, gigantic half mechanical half flesh monsters flying around, and a murderous Norse god intent on taking control of the chaos and coming out on top. Tony wonders why NASA or SHEILD has never claimed to have seen the species this army is made up of before. These guys donāt seem very low key, what with all the planetary destruction. He doesnāt believe for a second that no one knew these things were out there.
He makes a mental note to hack the department of defense after heās eaten his shawarma.
Tony never prepared for this. The only people who were even remotely prepared tried to nuke New York. And then Tony the not-hero, thank you very much, had to fix that problem on top of the other very pressing one. The other problem being aliens. Aliens invading the earth.
Aliens, Jesus Christ.
Afterwards, Loki gets taken to Asgard with Thor via Beam Of Lightā¢ļø. Fury says the Avengers are all free to go. But Tony does extend the offer for the others to stay at the tower. They can if they need to, not forever or anything. But, if they want to stick around and help clean up the mess. Someoneās gotta, you know?
Romanoff took the offer. Then Bruce because he wants access to a lab like Tony can offer and totally not because heās excited about their new friendship. Then Clint, who would like to stay close to SHEILD; then begrudgingly, Steve Rogers, who admits that he canāt quite afford life in New York City but would like to stay here. And suddenly the Avengers are piling into Tonyās penthouse, exhausted but still helping get rid of all the broken glass.
He goes to his lab as soon as sleeping situations are settled. (Natasha takes a guest room, Bruce gets another one, Clint and Rogers take the living room.) Thereās no need to stick around. The superheroās crashing in his guest rooms and living room are cleaned and fed, New York is saved (and subsequently the world.). Besides, he needs to start working on better living arrangements if these guys are going to stay. He gets half way through Natashaās layout for her floor, when Jarvis lowers his music.
āWhat gives? I was just getting into a groove here!ā
āIt seems you have a visitor, sir.ā
His head whips around, expecting Pepper, but instead he finds Steve Rogers standing on the outside of the glass door looking like a lost puppy in designer hand-me-down sweatpants. Tony sighs, Pepper won't be in until tomorrow. Heād had to do a lot of bribing to get the New York Airport to let his jet land. They have to clear some debris from the runway, fix some of the landing gear, that stuff.
āShall I let him in, sir?ā
āWhat? Yeah, yeah. Yes. Let the captain in, open the door.ā
The door unlocks, allowing Rogers to step into the lab. He looks around in wonder, the exhaustion from the day being covered by the inquisitive nature of humans.
āWhatās up, Cap?ā
Rogers startles, having gotten distracted by the tech in the room. Then hesitantly, he speaks up.
āThis place is really swell, Tony.ā
He sounds like he means it so genuinely that Tony doesnāt make a remark about the outdated word choice.
āWell, itās no flying boat, but itās home. Speaking of, youāll love this. Dum-e! Cāmere boy!ā
If Rogers looked amazed before, he looks absolutely awestruck now.
āDid you make him?ā He questions as he reaches out to pet the robot. Dum-E nuzzles his hand and Tony smiles a bit at the sight.
āYeah. Made Jarvis too, right J?ā
āYes, sir.ā Rogers jumps at the sound of Jarvisā disembodied voice.
āSee? They get along too well though. Theyāll surpass their old man one day. Too much plotting happening while Iām gone.ā
Rogers laughs, āSee, now, I would have thought you'd be all for the minds of the future.ā He comments sarcastically.
āAnd usually Iād agree, but I donāt think Iād be happy if the new robot overlord was Dum-E. And hearing you, a twenty-something year old, tell me that the flying boat engine āruns on some kind of electricityā, settled it for me. I have no faith in the future of technology.ā
The other man snorts, āIām not exactly a prime example of the youth, man.ā
Tony puts up a finger, āAh, see, Iād believe you if you didnāt just call me āmanā. Iām gonna start calling you kid.ā
Rogers rolls his eyes, ignoring how that prompted a mock scolding on rolling his eyes at his elders. He then sees the current work in progress on Tonyās work space.
āIs this what youāve been doing down here?ā
Tonyās eyes follow Rogers as he walks over to the plans and starts reading them over.
āThis is so nice. Thereās a floor for each of the Avengers in here! Even Thor and I!ā
āYes, Godās need sleep too. At least I think they do. Iāll have to ask, actually. -And, also, why wouldnāt you have one?ā
Tony watches the man's eyes widen as if being caught saying something he hadnāt meant to say out loud. Although as soon as the look of panic shows itās gone, Rogers turns to hide himself in the plans again.
āLook, I know we didnāt start off on the right foot.ā He starts, quieter than before.
Isā¦ is Rogers attempting a reconciliation right now? Tony thinks back to all the thoughts he had earlier, where Howard may have had a fit. And how fitting he thought it was that Captain America hated him, although he wasnāt entirely happy about it. But this might be worse, actually.
āI believe you were being beaten up when we met, actually. And then I swooped in and saved you.ā
Rogers immediately regains his volume, āSwooped in and saved me doesnāt sound entirely right.ā
āThis. Coming from the guy who still calls things swell? I think Iāll keep my phrasing.ā
āI had him! You can't save someone who is in control of the situation!ā
āYou call being beaten up being in control? Please elaborate.ā
āI was not getting beat up. I was holding my own.ā
āSure, kid. Is that a bruise?ā
Rogers immediately starts feeling around his face. This is hilarious for a number of reasons. One, he has super healing and any bruise would have been gone by now. Two, Captain America looks far more worried about a bruise on his perfect face than when he was saving the world.
āWhere?ā
āRight- yeah, right there. Where Loki absolutely had the upper hand!ā
That comment startles the older/younger man into stunned laughter.
And thats all Iāve got!! Thank you if you made it this far.

Height:Ā 166cm (and nO I am not trying to convert that into feet and whatnot. Sorry, Americans, but your system makes NO SENSE. Ugh)

Birthday:Ā 2 September
FavoriteĀ Bands:Ā like my wife, I'm a BIG fan of musicals, pretty much all musicals, so... Hamilton, Hadestown, Wicked, Les Mis, Moulin Rouge!, Evita, Chicago, Miss Saigon, The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, The Lion King. I'm also very into movie soundtracks, basically anything Disney or related to Lin-Manuel Miranda šš
As bands go, Imagine Dragons, Florence + The Machine and ABBA are fab, too!

Song Stuck In My Head:Ā Afterglow by Ed Sheeran
Last Movie:Ā The Old Guard, rewatch #4. It's just SO DAMN COOL, guys
Last Show:Ā Us (and no, not just for Iain, either, though ngl he's a big benefit. It's a great show, though, I'm loving it so far!)
When Did I Create This Blog:Ā the 5th of May 2020, apparently! Feels like a lot longer to me, lol, but, yup, I'm a lockdown baby! š
What I Post:Ā Fics, reblogs of other people's amazing creations, and occasionally random nonsense
Last Thing I Googled:Ā "Lockdown UK live updates" - because, yes, that's what my TV show binging and spectacular denial levels lately have allll been caused by :/
Other blogs:Ā Yes! I created and am an admin of agentsofchallenges, the Challenges of SHIELD blog we part-run from our fandom friends Discord. I'm also an admin for aos-angst-war, the blog we made for, surprisingly, the AoS Angst War (before we were smart enough to come up with agentsofchallenges, lmao)
Following:Ā 387, apparently - w h o a, how'd that happen?? Too many amazing people out there, that's all I'm saying.
Followers:Ā 237, which makes me think of three things immediately: one, there seems to be a sevens theme going on with "follow-" words today. Cool beans! Two, OH MY GOSH PAST TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOLLOWERS Already??? Every time I look at this statistic, it's more, and my eyes want to pop out of my head. I mean, I'm SO flattered, guys, but also w t f!!! Ahhhhhhhh, it's more than a little unbelievable. (!!!) Anyway, and, three, hnsjdskhsghsjhd, I'm an awful person, I haven't even completed my Hundred Followers Celebration yet!! Better get right on that š¬š¤¦āāļøš„°
Average hours of sleep:Ā 6/7 in work-time, because teaching is a full-time job and I need to be 100% functional. In the holidays, though... yeek. Anybody's guess!! I often go to sleep in the very wee hours of the night (2, 3am) but then I'm also a lazy ass and only get up at 10, so... About the same, actually!!
Lucky number:Ā ehhh, I don't really have one, I'm not superstitious like that, really - EXCEPT, WAIT, NO, I TOTALLY DO. Of course I do!! 42. The answer to life, the universe, and everything, my friends :D
Instruments:Ā I play piano and violin professionally, and a little bit of cello, badly š¤£
What I Am Wearing:Ā an old grey-green pair of drawstring sweatpants, and an oversized white sweatshirt. My isolation suit, guys!
Dream Job:Ā ohhh, gosh, well. I've always had a passion for both music and teaching, and I've known this is what I want to do for years, so I'm kinda... in it?? Lucky me, I know, lol š¤£š If I could have anything, though, I'd probably want to be an actress, or a singer-songwriter. Or both!! Or, I know, a Marvel screenplay writer for the Quake/Secret Warriors alternate universe spinoff š¤£š
Dream Trip:Ā ohhhh, MAN, well - I'm an incurable romantic at heart, so, the Seychelles with my boyfriend? Or maybe, to be a fangirl and a romantic (which is just goals, honestly) Tahiti!! Yup, yup, that's my final answer. I want an all-expenses-paid, full-luxury trip to Tahiti - I hear it's a magical place šššļø
Favorite Food:Ā I've recently been visiting my family in Ireland (before lockdown screwed everything over for me UGH) so, my nan's chocolate shortbread!! The actual BEST biscuits you'll ever taste ššš
Nationality:Ā British-Irish (yes, I have a dual citizenship, which I think is pretty wicked)
Favorite Song:Ā Impossible. Question. And one you'll get a different answer to every time you ask it!! Currently, though, I'm going to have to say Nancy Mulligan, for all the family nostalgia and happy memories it brings up for me š
Last Book I Read:Ā Ugh, this is probably the LEAST exciting answer you could even dream of, but... A2 GCSE Music Syllabus and Teacher's Guide - 2021 Revised Edition. Yeah, prepping for work SUCKS.
Top 3 Fictional Universes Iād Like To Live In:Ā The MCU, but very specifically season 3A of Agents of SHIELD, so I could meet all my babies when they were happy(ish) and tell them how much I adore them š„ŗš„ŗš Also, the Wizarding World post-the Second Wizarding War (because if I'm living in the world I'm not affected by JKR's crap). And for number three, OOH!! Storybrooke post-season 6 (and happily pretending season 7 never happens.) Yes please!!
Oooh, gosh, well, this was loads of fun, and a great distraction from work... though, in all seriousness, I should probably get to that now. Before I go, though, I'm going to tag @eowima, @que-mint-tea, @justanalto, @apathbacktoyou, @springmagpies, @maybebrilliant, @loved-the-stars-too-fondly, @nazezdha321, @besidemethewholedamntime and @fitzsimmonkeys, if any of you guys want to do this! š„°š
