Is said that Elisabetha died from an illness but my biggest questioning is: "What was the illness?"
Acording to search from internet that I found the most common diseases in Middle Ages were dysentery, malaria, diphtheria, flu, typhoid, smallpox and leprosy. And we all know that the hygiene was limited in that time period.
Whatever was the case, the average life expectancy at birth was around 30 years in that time period, rare case if they where people live over the 40's (since Rinaldo himself in his late 40's).

You were left to think of what Uraume told you, said in such an unsentimental manner that one would have thought that they were just talking about something trivial. But it got you thinking of so many things all at the same time, perplexed about the meaning behind those simple words, thrown out in the wind, free for interpretation.
However, you were no longer able to ask as the others returned, Choso immediately slinging an arm over your shoulder and asking after you. “You look flushed. Are you okay, Y/N?”
“Y-yes, thank you.” Your eyes immediately flicked to Sukuna who was standing beside Uraume, and you felt your face heating up all the more when he smiled at you. “It’s just really hot.”
“You sure?" he asked, snickering. You knew what he was getting at, but you didn't say anything.
“Hi, princess,” Naoya greeted, blocking your view of Sukuna.
You thought he was nice although he could be rather full of himself. It wasn’t in an annoying way, just in a funny, disarming way. Noisy, too. “Hi.”
“Call me Naoya.”
You nodded but you did not say it, suddenly remembering your confliction about what Uraume told you. You did notice it, too, the way everyone called Sukuna by his last name. Everyone just referred to him as “Ryomen,” and you pondered on whether it meant anything that you’re the only one who called him by his birth name.
The thoughts plagued you even as you sat in the car, your eyes remaining trained on him in the tense silence that seemed to have followed your last words when he asked you if you were ready to go home. You still couldn’t shake the same feeling you had earlier when you were watching him play, your senses seemingly hyper-aware of every single detail of him. Your heart felt full as the afternoon sun shone through the windows, touching his being that you thought, if you blinked, he’d disappear like a mirage.
It was the case up to the moment he parked on the spot next to where your own car had been sitting in the garage since the accident. It was gathering dust, but you have grown accustomed to the passenger side of Sukuna's car, the apple-cinammon air freshener he used and the feeling of having someone to talk to and laugh with while going places.
You didn't like the idea of driving on your own anymore, always alone inside your car.

Hello!! I saw your recent post and I thought it was really interesting :3 would you mind going a little more into depth about your opinions?
Hello anon! If you're referring to the sexualization post, then sure! Loooooooong answer incoming! Also, I'm going to be using 'You' a lot, just know I'm not referring to you anon but to the imaginary morality police I'm arguing with in my head. I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but I'm writing an essay about this and I will release it, swearsies! But lemme add some tidbits from it here.
Lemme start by saying that I understand that there's a problem with how female characters are portrayed in anime and manga but in my honest opinion right now sexualization isn't really a major issue when it comes to female characters especially the ones in other popular anime/manga series like My Hero Academia(kinda), Mob Psycho 100, Jujutsu Kaisen(🙄), Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter, Naruto, One Punch Man, Tokyo Ghoul, Chainsaw Man, hell even One Piece!
People just throw around the word without knowing what sexualization actually is. So here's a definition:
Tumblr media
Sexualization in media is when a character is portrayed as a sexual object and nothing more. The goal of their existence is to titillate the (male) audience. So because of that they hold no relevance, no character growth, no interesting personalities and are essentially stripped of their humanity. They're literally just objects for consumption.
A perfect example is Tamaki Kotatsu from Fire Force, who conveniently has the Lucky Lewd curse where she loses her clothes regardless of the situation. We're introduced to her boobs and the MC Shinra ogling them-who unintentionally gropes her in the next scene-before we get introduced to her as a person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the first of many, many, MANY instances of her 'lucky lewd' curse. There's even not one, but two whole episodes dedicated to the various ways she'll lose her clothes when fighting enemies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even in her character defining arc where we get to see more of her backstory and where she is put in a life-threatening situation, her humanity is still denied and is she placed in this sexually suggestive position.
Tumblr media
And when she is saved by Shinra because of course she is, the lucky lewd activated, and he crashes into her boobs for no reason and spends a good amount of time ogling her torn outfit I wish I was joking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a serious situation btw. Like she was deadass just about to be killed. Even when she begs for mercy as one of the characters that she sees as an older brother figure attacks her so viciously it leaves her bloody and bruised that she begs for someone to save her, the camera focuses on her lips and portrays her pleads for help in an erotic light.
This was supposed to be her arc that would've not only developed her as a character but allowed us to gain more insight into her compelling backstory but no, instead she got to be a sexual object to be ogled by Shinra and the audience, even during her dire moments when she was brutalized she couldn't even have the chance to be portrayed with basic humanity as a human being. Her arc ended up being more about Shinra that it was about her. I mean, she can't even catch a break in the official art 😭.
Tumblr media
This is what actual sexualization of a character looks like, now lets compare this to the 'sexualized' characters in KnY.
Mitsuri
The morality police like to point out her boobs bouncing, running scene and her bath scene as proof of her sexualization, but I disagree. Firstly, Mitsuri wasn't the only one that got a bath scene, Genya and Tanjiro got one too where we saw Tanjiro's bare ass on screen!
Tumblr media
Second the running scene was gratuitous yes, but she's never groped, she's never ogled, in fact Tanjiro was more worried about her breasts spilling out than how she was dressed, and the moment was done over in like seconds, the show moves on to establish a character defining trait; her love of food. Already we see that she's humanized, we see her likes and her complaints about being ignored. There are no comments on her body and no other lingering shots of her boobs and she most definitely isn't put in sus positions like this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for her uniform, I dunno maybe it's because I personally like wearing skimpy clothes because of sensory issues, but I don't see anything wrong with it. Her miniskirt makes sense because her fighting style relies heavily on acrobatics and flexibility, try doing acrobatics in an Amish-length skirt and let me know when you eventually eat shit and end up with a broken neck. Acrobatics are mostly done in either leotards or skintight costumes, and I don't think those were popular in Taisho Japan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like yea even though male gymnasts typically wear trousers so y'know their cock and balls don't slip out, a lot of them just wear short shorts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then her boob window, honestly come off it. Yea, when I first saw her I didn't like it, but that was because I was scared that she was going to be another fanservice character, but after reading the manga and Gaiden, it doesn't bother me anymore. I've seen some comments such as 'oh her breasts might spill out' and all, but they never do though. Do people forget that she's a fictional, 2D character???!!! Her boobs won't spill out unless the animators want it to.
We also got an explanation for the design; it was the work of the pervy designer Kakushi who's known rightfully as Scum Glasses, and Mitsuri though embarrassed just couldn't bring herself to burn or discard it, which tells us about her character and how she cherishes the hard work of others, no matter how pervy their intentions are.
Tumblr media
None of our main characters shame her for it, even ogle her or make sexual comments about her body. Shinobu shames Scum Glasses and offers her matches to burn it, Sanemi's reaction to her embarrassment shows that he doesn't see it as a big deal and when it interfered with the wellbeing of the female slayers, his anger was directed at Scum Glasses, not the slayers.
Even Giyuu's comment in the Corps Records reads more like he's concerned for her safety, and the fact that she doesn't have scars despite her uniform is honestly impressive and a testament to her power as a Hashira.
She's one of the kindest (and frankly realest)characters in KnY-second only to Tanjiro. She was practically the only one against Tanjiro and Nezuko getting executed or punished, she accepted Nezuko without hesitation despite being a demon and treated her like a little sister, she didn't shame Genya for eating demons, in fact I don't think she noticed because all she saw was her junior who needed help.
She's not a 'sexualized female character', she's Mitsuri Kanroji. Who was literally rejected by the world for being different but instead of being bitter chose to use her literal strength to help people, who brings comfort to others with her smile and personality despite seeing so much loss and devastation, who fights and protects not out of spite or revenge or heritage but out of love and duty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yea sure, let's focus on her inconsequential uniform and her 10-second bath scene 🙄.
Nezuko and Daki
The main point of contention about Nezuko and Daki's 'sexualization' is because they're 'minors' which is so dumb and a whole other topic, but let's focus on their clothes. I really don't understand the complaints about Nezuko, because the majority of the time when she's not fighting she's dressed in her regular, 'modest' kimono.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What about when she's in demon mode? Oh! Her thighs are exposed when she's fighting? Yes, that tends to happen when you wear fucking skirts. Oh! Her clothes don't fit when she grows twice her size? You mean just like how the Hulk loses majority of his clothes when he grows too? Shocking that her clothes don't grow with her when she's not a fully formed demon. Shocking, I tell you!
Same with Mitsuri, there are no lingering shots of her boobs or her body because the main action is focused on her kicking ass. Go look at comments on anime sites in the episodes where she grows in size and fights, how many of them actually mention her body as opposed to her being kick-ass. The majority of Nezuko simps are simping over her as a moe character rather than a sex object. The most popular image of Nezuko is her shrunken form when she was running away from Kanao as it should because that scene was cute and funny as fuck.
For Daki, it's different, because yea she's wearing super revealing clothing, but here's my take; I don't see anything wrong with Daki's clothing. I'm sorry, but to me her outfit is iconic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her character design radiates power and intimidation to me rather than sexual object, and as with Nezuko and Mitsuri, despite her outfit, she never has any lingering shots on her boobs or placed in positions where she's groped and ogled, and she's never shamed by any of the characters because they're too busy trying not to get themselves killed. when I see her I'm not thinking 'heh, I can see her boobs', I'm fearing for my life and hoping she doesn't eat me! I mean look how terrifying she is in this shot.
Tumblr media
Also, just like Mitsuri and Nezuko her humanity is never denied, when she had her head cut off by Tengen there were no suggestive shots of her body, in fact more people were shocked at her sudden cries which showed how young she was.
When she and Gyutaro are defeated, it's not portrayed in a sexually suggestive or erotic way, we're not made to see some femme fatale seductress, we're made to see an angry, bitter but ultimately hurt little girl who is spiteful at the world that rejected and abandoned her and her brother.
We see how she's had to survive, how she was brutalized and burnt for just standing up to her brother which in hindsight makes her reaction to Nezuko setting her on fire all the more heartbreaking. We see a girl who rejects 'heaven' if it means that she will be separated from her brother - the only person who was ever there for her, took care of her, comforted her and made her feel safe in a world that made them feel so rejected and so alone, the person who told her this:
Tumblr media
If you're given all this character and backstory and all you choose to focus on is how she's dressed, then you need to check yourself and look inwards because you're the one with the problem.
The truth is, female characters are going to be sexualized regardless of what they wear, y'know just like women in real life, so how about we instead focus on making sure that they have relevance in the story, relatable backstories, character growth, rich personalities, and most of all humanity.
Sorry for the long answer anon but I hope this is okay for you, I would still post the full essay on Mitsuri eventually. Thanks for your question! ❤❤❤

“You didn’t.”
The tone of Satoru’s voice is reproachful, as if he is scolding an unruly child for misbehaving. He can almost envision Satoru at the other end of the phone line, on the other side of the world: tapping his foot impatiently, rolling his eyes, wondering how Suguru could be so reckless, so stupid, so sentimental.
It irritates him. “I did,” he replies.
“Why? I didn’t think you were in the market for a pet.”
“Stop it, Satoru,” he snaps. “I wish you wouldn’t call them that.”
“But isn’t that what they are?” His husband asks it reasonably, as if it’s the most logical thing in the world to refer to humans as though they are domesticated animals. “They’re weak and fragile. They die too quickly. And they need all sorts of troublesome things.”
“The last time I checked, food and water weren’t ‘troublesome things,’” Suguru sighs witheringly.
“I’m not talking about that,” Satoru rebuts. “I mean the other stuff. They need reassurance, affection, praise. Who has time to waste on that?”
Not you, clearly. If you did, you’d be here, instead of all the way on the other side of the world. “I have to go,” he says aloud. “She’ll probably be waking up soon.”
“Don’t forget to pick up after her when she shits,” Satoru snickers. “I’ve heard you can get fined if you don’t.”
Suguru doesn’t bother to answer him, simply disconnecting the call instead.
--
She’s listening through the crack in the door and can hear exactly when he stops talking. The silence after doesn’t last long - the end of his one-sided conversation is followed by a bang, as though something has been knocked over.
“I take it that wasn’t a pleasant phone call,” she offers softly, cautiously stepping out into the hallway.
He doesn’t seem to be startled as he turns to face her. Her eyes fall on the vase of flowers that’s very clearly been thrown to the floor. The vase is shattered, water and magnolia blossoms littering the floor in a mess at his feet. “I’m sorry if I woke you,” he murmurs, setting the wastebasket in his hand down.
“I’ve been awake for a while,” she answers. “Though I don’t know how long ‘a while’ is,” she adds thoughtfully.
“You slept for a little more than a whole day.”
The news should surprise her, but it doesn’t. She looks down at her wrists. They’ve been bandaged up. “I thought I did it right,” she says, her voice soft. “I guess I fucked it up, just like everything else I do.” She adds that last with a laugh, but it sounds hollow and sad to his ears.
“You… if you mean your technique,” he starts, “that wasn’t done wrong. You cut exactly as you should have if you were trying to kill yourself.”
“I was trying to kill myself.”
“Were you?”
Something about the way he has asked the question makes her realize that he doesn’t believe her. “What did you do to me?”
“Stopped your bleeding.”
“How?” Her heart is racing. She asks it, not sure she wants to know the answer. There is something in the pit of her stomach, some feeling that she can’t put words to. It chills her.
“Do you really want to know that?” He’s turned away from her now, collecting the broken pieces of the smashed vase and the scattered flowers, dumping them into the wastebasket.
No. “Yes,” she whispers. “I think I have the right to know. I remember how the cuts looked. At the rate I was bleeding out, stopping the blood flow would’ve been almost impossible.”
He pauses in his movement, his back still facing her. “Maybe I’m just really good at first aid.”
She doesn’t believe him. “I don’t believe you.” Her hands are trembling, and so is her voice.
Letting the last of the broken pieces of porcelain fall into the wastebasket, he sighs. A moment later he stands and turns to face her again. “No, you don’t believe me… but you also already know what the truth is, don’t you?”
“I thought I might have been dreaming,” she admits. “Or maybe that I’d… that I’d already died.” She looks away from him. “You killed something.”
“I did,” he agrees. The swift candor makes her flinch, but she says nothing. “I went out to hunt,” he continues, “and found you. I thought it was better to take from a creature I was going to kill anyway than to take from you.”
She knows his blunt, honest words are meant to reassure her, but she can’t stop herself from trembling.
“You’re frightened.”
He’s still speaking softly, his tone gentle. She wonders if that is just his way, or if he speaks that way because he thinks doing so is less likely to frighten her.
She looks back at him, trying to keep her heart from racing and her breathing even. “Was that a question?” She asks, knowing very well that it wasn’t.
He doesn’t answer her right away. Instead, he inclines his head to gaze openly at her. There is no hostility in his expression, and it gives her the courage to study him right back.
He is beautiful, this enigmatic man. He towers over her - not because he is using his body in an imposing way, but simply because he is so tall. She scans the broadness of his shoulders and the rounded peaks of muscle beneath his long-sleeved shirt… and suddenly it makes sense why he was able to carry her as though she weighed nothing.
But that isn’t the only reason why he’s so strong and you know it, her brain reminds her. If he is what you think he is, he has inhuman strength.
She ignores the thought, bringing her gaze back up to rest on his face. Beautiful, she thinks again, taking in the features of his face. Dark lashes that fan out over pretty purple eyes. The sharp, handsome angle of his nose. The way his lips seem perfectly formed to fit his face.
His eyes are kind. The thought comes to her, uninvited. She looks closer, wanting to prove that thought wrong. No… I was right the first time. His eyes are kind.
He begins to close the distance between them in just a few strides. The closer he gets, the higher she lifts her chin in order to sustain the eye contact between them. Gentle tone and kind eyes aside, she will be damned if she allows herself to forget what he is.
When he reaches up with one hand and draws it near to her face, she grits her teeth in an effort not to flinch. “I won’t hurt you,” he tells her, his voice soft. “It would be against my interests to do so.”
“How do I know that?”
His hand continues along its plotted course until his fingers make contact with her skin, cupping her cheek in his palm. She tries not to lean into his touch, but it’s difficult. He is warmer than she imagined he could be for what he is, and it has been so long since she’s felt the warmth of another person this way.
“You don’t,” he answers, the corners of his dark eyes crinkling as he offers her a smile that is just as warm as his hand. “But I hope you’ll trust me long enough to see the truth of it for yourself.”
She inhales - a small, shallow breath to remind herself that she is still alive. For whatever reason, he has seen fit to use his power to keep her around. Letting her breath out slowly, she shakes her head. “I don’t know enough about you to trust you.”
“I know.” He’s still smiling at her warmly. “I know you don’t.”
“I may never trust you.”
“I know that, too.” His smile never falters, but there is a flicker of sadness in his eyes.
“Then why bring me here at all?” She knows it’s an unfair question; he saved her life, and she should consider herself lucky and be grateful that he intervened where he wasn’t obligated to. Having been snatched back from the precipice of the death she was so sure she would meet, she realizes that perhaps falling over the edge of that precipice wasn’t what she wanted at all.
She shakes her head, struggling to find a way to rephrase her question and coming up empty. “I’m sorry.”
She isn’t sure why her words make him chuckle, and she’s even less sure why she finds herself wanting to make him laugh again. His laughter is warm, just like his eyes and his hand. It’s enticing, inviting. She’d like to hear more of it.
“You don’t need to apologize,” he tells her, when his laughter has subsided. He strokes her cheek with his thumb. He reaches out with his other hand, gently holding her left wrist and running his fingers lightly over the bandages there. “I made you a promise.”
“A promise?” Confused, she scrunches her nose up.
“A promise,” he repeats, but he elaborates no further.
Hesitation grips her, making her tongue thick and slow to respond. She lowers her head, her gaze on where his hand encircles her wrist. “Thank you,” she starts quietly, when she finds her voice again. She raises her chin so she can look directly into his eyes once more. “For saving me.”
He blinks at her, a beat of silence passing between them before he gives her a nod. She thinks perhaps he means to say something else, but he doesn’t. He drops his hand away from her face instead, and she laments the loss of its warmth. “You must be hungry,” he starts, turning away from her. “Let me fix you something to eat.”

A Few Kind Words About Gege Akutami, the Fate of Gojo Satoru, and the Redemption within the Fandom.
Now that Jujutsu Kaisen has come to an end, everyone seems to have their own opinions about the final chapters and the progression of the manga over its last arcs. There’s a general consensus that there are obvious plot holes, unresolved matters, some rushed and out-of-character interactions, and overall dissatisfaction with how the story was wrapped up. Many have already broken these points down better than I could, both here and on X, so I won’t try to add anything to that conversation.
In fact, I’m here to say something a little more controversial.
I don't think, at all, that Gege Akutami is a bad writer. I think the issue is something else: Gege Akutami thinks he’s much smarter than he actually is.
Up until the Shibuya Incident or even Itadori’s Extermination Arc, we were reading an incredibly well-written manga. Loose ends tied up neatly, references intertwined, and the narrative structure was solid. So we know Gege can write well. Those chapters had excellent world-building and storytelling. However, Gege is too obsessed with proving he's the smartest in the room. He's too focused on his dark physics theories about cursed techniques, his pseudo-Buddhist references, and when the time came for the Culling Games, he created a ridiculously complex game, convinced he’d have time to develop everything in his head.
But he couldn’t. And he failed. I don’t just think that only the grueling manga publication system in Japan impacted his mental health—it's just incredibly hard to maintain a vision and quality in something as long and complex as what he was proposing. From the Culling Games onward, he relies on after-the-fact explanations to patch up plot holes. Time skips are used to jump over gaps, and he makes the same mistake he did with Gojo: creating a character who can seemingly fix everything—Shoko. We never really get an explanation of how Shoko’s cursed technique works, its limits, or expansions. Why Nobara, yes; why Gojo, no. How does it work, does it get exhausted, where does it come from, how long does it take to work? You can't measure cursed technique input so precisely, then skip over basic rules like medical limitations, and you can’t always rely on a deus ex machina to fix narrative messes when you’re overwhelmed.
It’s not a lack of skill on Gege's part. It’s hubris.
But I said I’d be kind. So, onto part two: Gojo.
Gojo Satoru:
I’ve ranted before about Gojo Satoru’s fate—how introducing him, keeping him locked away, then giving him a completely anticlimactic liberation just to kill him off feels like a massive waste. I stand by that, but I also have to admit part of that perspective is my inner Gojo fan expressing frustration. The truth is, after the last chapter, I finally understood the deeper meaning of his character, though it left me heartbroken.
I can’t shake the idea that Gojo knew, more or less, while training before facing Sukuna, that he would die in that battle. He writes his farewell letters, establishes what to do with his body, and dies in peace, satisfied. I once wrote that both Gojo and Nanami lived on borrowed time. Their development and lives froze sometime between Riko Amanai’s death and Geto’s betrayal. It’s them people talk about when they say their youth was stolen: from that moment on, everything was an escape towards a future that only made sense with death.
I really can’t hate such a tragic twist to his character.
Okay, that was gentler but definitely sadder. Let’s wrap this up with something more positive.
Smile, you're free now.
If you’ve followed a series for years, it’s normal to feel a little empty when it ends. It’s happened to all of us. It will happen to you again in the future, don’t worry. Being a fan is something that’s in your blood, so you’ll find something else to latch onto. But if you still feel like Jujutsu Kaisen is a huge part of your life, don’t worry—you’ve got the fandom.
Sure, the JJK fandom is a little toxic, but it’s also the best gift Gege gave us. Now, without the pressure of canon, you can play however you like to fill in those unanswered gaps. You can write theories, read that fanfiction about your favorite ship, draw that scene you’re sure happened, jump into that forum to explain your stance on a character, write your own fix-it, commission a comic, rewatch the series, or even decide your favorite character isn’t your favorite anymore. You’re now free to enjoy the series at your own pace because the author has set you free from the path they were carving out.
Someone might come along and tell you that what you're saying is impossible because of “canon.” Nonsense. The JJK fandom, like almost every fandom, will be fleeting for some and rock solid for others. Do what makes you happy. Enjoy the upcoming anime. Expand the world-building. Play with everything like it’s made of clay.
And if someone gives you a hard time, think about this: Gege had a raw diamond, and he chose to smash it rather than shape it. Now, it’s your turn to take a piece and make a ring that fits your finger just right.

↬i currently take requests for characters from Bleach, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Haikyuu!!, Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Revengers, Hunter x Hunter, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) [[now open!!]]
↬check my squad etiquette for characters that I WILL NOT write for.
↬requesting on the blog is FREE, but keep in mind that i now also take commissions.
the tip button is active on my page if you're feeling generous and really enjoyed one of my works. i also have a kofi page (check under 'explore your new squad' header)
↬request any character(s) you want. refer to previous bullets for characters i will not write at all, but if there's a question about if i will or can write for a character, just message me or leave an ask.
↬yes, i age up characters. got an issue? find the block button. they're fucking cartoons.
↬do not come into my inbox with discourse involving aged-up characters. if you made it that far, you must've seen something you liked.
i am an adult, i can tell the differences between promoting blatant ch*ld abuse/child expl*itation, and fiction writing. dark content included.
if you felt that something i wrote was offensive to a particular person, entity, or group, please bring it to me RESPECTFULLY and we can discuss.
↬when i begin to add other fandoms, it'll be announced on the blog, always.
↬i can write SFW, N/SFW, smut, fluff, crack, angst, horror, dark content, psychological, headcanons, thirsts, drabbles, songfics, and full-length fics.
‼️DO NOT LIKE, REBLOG, OR COMMENT ON MY N/SFW & DARK CONTENT IF YOU ARE A MINOR, A BLANK BLOG, AN AGELESS BLOG, or a "MEME" BLOG. I WILL BLOCK YOU‼️
↬from here on out, 2/26/2024, minors may not at any time interact with my works. THIS IS A FIRM RULE. WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE OF AGE.
i am not anybody's damn role model or parent on here, nor am i responsible for what types of content your children are consuming.
↬if you're a minor, ageless, blank, meme blog or you never share or comment on my works, do not ask me when fics are coming out or for a part 2. be glad you got part 1.
↬i do FxM smut pairings only for now; i've attempted others in the past but they're not my strong suit, so it may only be limited to headcanons or thirsts if I attempt it. I could possibly do FxMxF and MxFxM upon request. Depends on my inspiration for the request (which depends on you!) i think I'd like to try writing from a male reader's perspective as well. i currently do not write transgender readers, as i have little experience writing for those types of readers, and i doubt i'd be very good at it. i can try my hand at writing gender-neutral/afab readers if requested. i've kinda done it a little in the past, and i am always trying to improve my writing skills.
↬requests for female characters may only be limited to fluff, crack, SFW, angst, headcanons, thirsts, etc., for now. Headcanons and thirsts can be N/SFW.
↬characterxreader pairings only. i will write threesomes, gangbangs, etc but there must be a reader involved somewhere. i also write black!readers and will write poc!readers.
↬request as many times as you want, but please be aware that they may not all get written.
↬i write best when I have a clear picture in my head, so please give lots of details about what you want.
↬don't be shy, I won't bite your head off if you ask me a question about a pairing, characters, or any of the above rules.
↬please don't rush me or continually ask when your request will be completed. It depends on my time, motivation, and will to write. Writing can be hard and I'm a perfectionist, so I won't submit half-assed work.
↬requests that i choose to write are completely at my discretion. if i feel like i cannot write it, i will either let you know and we can possibly modify it, or i will just delete it altogether. i will not force myself to write something that makes me uncomfortable or that i have no inspiration for.
↬if you are always requesting but won't leave me one measly comment, i will delete any future requests from you. these take time for me to write, so please show that you at least read it all the way through.
↬MOST IMPORTANTLY: DO NOT STEAL MY SHIT. I WRITE ALL OF THIS SHIT BY MYSELF.
↬my ask box is open and will remain open until otherwise stated.
↬feel free to use the ask box just to talk to me, or send me a pm!
↬don't think too hard about it! can't wait to hear from you! 🤍🤍

Space Dust
By: SmartZelda
Summary:
Long after graduating from Jujutsu Tech, Yuji keeps in touch with Satoru Gojo as a friend. However, the frustrating part about being friends with Satoru is that he always wants to hang out. It's not that Yuji doesn't want to hang out with him—far from it—but whenever he's around Gojo, he tends to fake flirt with Yuji. It's just hard for him to bear. It's like a slap to the face for Yuji, who has had a crush on him since he was a first year at Jujutsu Tech. So, Yuji tends to avoid him, making up excuses as to why he can't hang out.
This time, however, Gojo asks Yuji out while Yuji's on his first short vacation in months, and (on a whim) Yuji says yes. So, after dinner at one of Satoru's estates, the two spar for the first time in a long while, and the tension stretches tightly between them.
Or, Yuji's been crushing on his ex-sensei for years, but there's no way the Satoru Gojo would ever want him the same way, right?

[Any commentary, thoughts, additions, etc from me is under the cut😊]
Heya, it's me again! I'm excited to finally get to post my second piece for the Citrus AllYuuji Zine (@/allyuujizine on twitter).
Remember waaay back when I posted "Alone Time" (the first nsfw fic I ever posted) and I said I had three other initial wips? Yeah, this is one of them (the third, I believe). I've been sitting at the edge of my seat all year waiting to post this fic, and I'm so excited to spread some enjoyment (and especially add to my short catalogue of JJK fics).
Once again, if the concept of such a zine intrigues you or you like this fic, I would heavily suggest checking out the main zine (Citrus) or the nsfw add on zine (Lemonade). There's so much Yuuji love (romantic, sexual, and even gen), a myriad of different pairings, and even some adorable merch. Leftover orders are available for a limited time:

uno i miss you so much you don't even know <//3 also when are we getting a new boo ( no pressure! take your time :) ily )
is this like 'new book' bc i'm going to interpret it like that.
and honestly... i have way too many drafts. look, my way of releasing stress is making ocs through wikia-formats, and making a whole ass timeline for the plot. in a span of a month, i've made a lot. and recently, i've been on a hardcore batfam phase, yeah? and recently, this happened too:
i have ... i may have hyperfixated which i'm working on and lost a couple of hours researching the timeline. so, yes, i'm working on not one, but two batfam fics: one's oc-insert found family with the batfam, and the other's a dick grayson/reader ... and i honestly want to add a third one that's going to be cass-centric and a marvel crossover but hnggg, do i really wanna indulge myself? yes. yes, i do.
pushing the whole batfam aside (and ignoring my venom!oc in batfam idea), i also have a very long-length avengers + xmen + oc fic in my drafts with the complete timeline and all ... i've been stressed the past few weeks and this is how i vent, mbmb.
AND if you guys were there during my 'shinto pantheon in pjo' ... don't even get me started. and i had another phase right after that which i call my 'angel phase' wherein i got really interested in nephilims and the book of enoch, and may or may not have made another timeline and world-building details for a nephilims (not supernatural nephilims btw) in pjo ... so, uh, there's that.
Tumblr media
confirmed upcoming:
kimetsu no yaiba + jujutsu kaisen:
no 'missing itadori' this time! ... just 'itadori getting mistaken as a demon' angst. lots of angst, and first year bonding and found family!
tentative:
oc-insert batfam + found family
this one, i really want to write, mostly because of the religious imagery and roman catholic references. it's going to be called our father's venison, and i'm already excited just thinking about it but i still have no idea how the ending will go and that's stressing me out.
dick grayson + serial killer!cannibal!reader
now, the thought is very, very appealing. i can imagine how it'll go but i have no idea how it will work ... but i want to wing it. i really, really do. set in bludhaven, so i really want this to work out. i genuinely do, but for now, very unlikely any time soon.
cassandra cain-centric + mcu
i have no plans for this. all i know is that cass is my favorite batkid and i like mcu a lot ... more than dcu, but the batfam have a special place in my heart. and just thinking about cute, dimension-hopping misadventures? i love cass, bye. maybe it’s going to be a one-shot or a short story at best.
xmen + marvel + oc
least likely to be posted because it’s long and entirely self-indulgent. the plot is complete and the ending, the specifics, and the whole timeline with everything considered, and fixed, but no. it’s just ... so long.
shinto pantheon + pjo
ok,, this ... i want to wing. i have the worldbuilding fixed too, the characters, and how the meeting will go, and i’m screaming, that’s all.
nephilims + pjo
and by ‘nephilims’, i don’t mean supernatural’s nephilims (i love spn), but nephilims there are way too overpowered and this ones are going to be a bit more biblically accurate. just a bit, but i really, really enjoyed world-building for this. made me really excited. the plot for the meeting is also ... somewhat planned.
Tumblr media
WAIT
i should just make a plot dump ... like those short drabbles in one book but i just dump plots. that would be convenient. and then i can just decide after if i want to keep them. okok, i’ll do that. brb, gonna write froggie and rain :DD BLESS YOU ANON

From the Human Heart - Chapter III
Chapter: 3/4
Wordcount: 2905
Title: The Lamb and the Knife
Fandom: Jujutsu Kaisen
Pairing: Ryomen Sukuna X reader
Previous chapters
1 . 2
Symbols: ⭕ . ➕ . 💛 . ▶️▶️
Warning (s): Mental breakdown, mental instability (one occurrence in the beginning of the chapter)
N. A.: I confess I was a bit afraid that this chapter ended up too sad or depressing during reader's return to the village, because what she sees there is something that could break anyone's spirit, and with her things are not different. However this story has a happy ending, so I guess I can make up for it 😅 Also, I was planning to finish the story in this chapter, but the text ended up being too long, so I had to add a fourth chapter. I usually avoid establishing a number of chapters in my wips because they always get longer than I plan, but this one should be a short story (guess I failed in this smh)
Tumblr media
A shiver ran all over your body and woke you up in an instant.
You didn’t open your eyes yet, but you knew you were lying on something cold, having your cloak to protect you from the chilling breeze of the morning. Morning? Something was telling you that it was morning already. Well, in that case… when did you fall asleep? What happened to you while you were not awake?
The rustling noise of the leaves was heard when you moved on your spot, your right arm aching after spending a long time in the same position. You opened your eyes at last and found a gray, autumnal day around you, the fainting light barely breaking through the dense top of the trees. All you could see was brown, red and yellow, as expected. Fortunately, winter hasn’t reached you yet.
That was strange, to be honest. Why would you think you’ve spent more than one night in that place, long enough to not see the change of seasons?
You sat on the forest’s ground and checked your own state. Everything was in its place: your dress, with the slit in the cleavage made by the King of Curses; the cut in your cloak’s stripe was still there, but the stripe was tied up again around your neck, a bit tighter; your empty bag was on the ground, serving as a pillow in that wild, improvised bed. Was it you that arranged things this way? Was it him? You didn’t know, and you didn’t think that finding out the truth would bring you any comfort.
In an urge to make sure you were alright, you opened your cleavage and checked your skin in the spot touched by Sukuna to seal the pact. There was no stain, no wound, no mark there; you weren’t feeling pain, burning or ache. Nothing changed in it. Of course not, you old yourself: what he did was an enchantment to change your soul, not your body. Any change that could come from it would not be visible to the eye.
With effort, you took your bag and stood up. You shook the leaves and tugs off your dress and cloak and took a second look at your surroundings. That was the same clearing in which you met Sukuna, and you were lying among the roots of the same tree you stopped at to read the sentences of the ritual.
The clearing didn’t seem so large and mysterious now that you were seeing it under the day light. It was silent, unlike the moment when you found it, full of sounds of night birds and small predators rushing their paws through the leaves, out of your sight. All that life was now gone, as if it has never existed.
A blow of cold wind twirled and passed by you before you could see where it came from, carrying leaves and dust with it. You took it was a sign to leave, as if it was saying to you that there was nothing there but death and oblivion. You protected your eyes and once the column of dust moved away, you ran out of that place.
You didn’t know how you managed to run through the same way that brought you to that cursed forest without ending up breathless, aching and out of your mind. Your feet were carried down through its declined territory, full of traps and roots, not stumbling in a single one of them, nor your clothing were ripped or got stuck while you ran.
To you, you’ve been running forever: the more you moved forward, the more the scenario around you looked the same. Was it part of the enchantment or were you just tired, eager to return to your village and see the results of the treaty?
You relied on this latter and continued to move.
***
The village, seen from the high spot of the hill, was the same since you left it. Not that you should expect something else – you were changed, nor your old home. Besides, you couldn’t have left for so long. But it felt like years in your heart, and the night before landed as a dream in your memory now. You adjusted the hood upon your head and tightened your grip around your cloak: the cold breeze ran free without the trees to obstruct it and you wanted to protect yourself; and, despite your trust in the results of the enchantment, you still had no ways to know exactly who were going to see you or not, so that you didn’t want to expose yourself before you had the chance to explore the territory.
Well, when you were reaching the lowest spot of the hill you were left with minimal choices regarding this.
A commotion was happening at the village’s entry, not so far from the place you where standing: a group of people stared with desperation to two or three men who you recognized as members of the Jujutsu council, the ones your father used to refer as his closest allies among them; these men were trying, with great effort, to contain a man who screamed incomprehensible words in a harsh, animalistic voice and scaring the villagers. The man was dressed in the same traditional clothing of the sorcerers, but all the noble aspect of it was gone, replaced with rips and blood as if its owner was kept locked inside a cage and tried everything in his reach to escape it, fighting with people and weapons.
Your blood ran cold in your veins when you recognized the insane man as your father.
After that, it was like your ears were uncovered and you started to understand what he and the other men were saying. They were arguing under a case of thievery: a treasure has vanished from the Jujutsu collection at your father’s house; the masters were convinced that the responsible for the crime was now far away from the village and must have been a clever Jujutsu sorcerer since they managed to deceive all of them, including your father; however, they were confused by the story your father was telling.
Between one growl and another, this was what you could understand from his speech.
- I know exactly who did this! My daughter did this! My own daughter! And I will hunt her till the end of the world!
His own daughter. You.
Your feet stepped back in an unconscious urge to run, but somehow you stood to listen to the rest. You immediately understood the agitation among the Jujutsu masters: the treasure that disappeared was the flower, without which they could not stand a chance against its true owner. Without the jewel, all the lies told by them and their leader were going to be brought to the surface and the whole village was going to pay for their dishonesty.
But none of this has hit you like the realization that your father was talking about you, that he still remembered about you and was willing to come after you to recover the jewel.
And that the situation was not the same to anyone among the people around him.
- Please, enough with this nonsense, master y/sn! – one of the sorcerers was saying, struggling to hold the furious man by his arm.
- Enough with this! – a second man shouted with less patience – You have no daughter! You’ve never had!
Yes, it wasn’t that surprising that the elders couldn’t see you – they never hid their distaste towards you, the greatest obstacle to their ascension in your Jujutsu society. But you didn’t take too long to notice that they weren’t the only ones who have forgotten about you: the entire village has, or at least all the people who were at your sight, some of them known to you for years. Some of them you yourself used to love and respect, and have trusted with your life in the worst moments of your relationship with your father – people you could swear to love you back.
Could it be that you, known by your connection with the most important sorcerer of the village, was an unpleasant presence to them as much as your father must have been? Could it be that they only tolerated you because of him?
A tear rolled down your left cheek, dried by the cold wind that passed at that moment, strong enough to take off the hood of your head. You still weren’t sure of what was more painful: to realize that your father was the only one who remembered you or to see that not even the people you liked were able to reciprocate you just enough to not forget you after an enchantment.
Something died inside you while you saw that. So you just put your hood back and turned your back on your old home, restarting your way up the hill again and hurrying up before your father noticed your presence.
***
It wouldn’t make a great difference if you decided to stay in that forest if the next night reached you there, for you had nowhere to come back as much as you had no place to go to. You were no longer on a hurry: running up that hill twice in so little time has taken the remaining energy in your body and your spirit, so you started walking; if you were passing by the same paths you’ve crossed before, you didn’t know and didn’t care.
To say you were walking was too much. Your legs were shaking, and your numb feet were stumbling even before reaching the obstacles; your hands were doing their best to hold on to the branches and any other support they were able to find, since you couldn’t count on your eyes to guide you: you hadn’t go blind, but you weren’t seeing anything in your way. Your attention was all in what you just witnessed, not in what you had in front of you.
It was as if you just died and had the opportunity to come back to see how the people you knew were dealing with your absence. If you were honest to yourself, you would have already accepted that what you saw wasn’t unexpected at all; still, it wasn’t something that you could completely understand until it happened to you.
At some dense spot of the grove you stopped, despite not having any hopes of finding some rest. You held tight on a low branch to not fall of exhaustion and concentrated on your breath. It was when you noticed you didn’t sense the expected harshness of wood while touching its surface.
You looked at your hand and screamed – your skin, exposed until your fist, was blue. Blue, but not just as a way to say it was cold: it was indeed blue, as a frozen lake reflecting the winter sky. You stepped back as if that was the hand of a stranger, but it followed you and obeyed all your commands, not letting any space for doubts; it belonged to you. You turned it to see its back and noticed variations in the blue, stains of a darker shade, and saw that your nails were now indigo, all of them in a sharp shape, just like…
Just like Sukuna’s nails. A curse’s nails.
You gasped at the memory of his warning. This was what supposed to happen in case you didn’t accept the result of the enchantment. You looked again at your palms and saw no cut nor wound that the branches could cause to a human’s delicate skin – yours were intact, as expected from a resistant curse’s body part. You rolled up your dress’ sleeves to see if your arms were blue as well and observed in horror as the slow transformation reached them.
You adjusted the sleeves and stopped looking. There was no use in desperation. You adjusted the cloak around you and crossed your arms around yourself, accepting the punishment.
- For someone who was so determined just one day before, you do not seem so happy now… child.
His voice grew from the depths of the forest and reached you as if it vibrated by its own will, shaking every nerve you had in you, waking you up to the darkness of your new reality.
You turned to find the King of Curses in the middle of the clearing, just like the first time you’ve met, but now the day was still there above you, with no sign of the red shadows of the summoning. That could only mean one thing: he hasn’t left after the treaty; instead, he remained in those lands, perhaps observing you while you were unconscious or waiting for the next events in the village to take place.
Having him witnessing your downfall in all its bitter details disgusted you in a way you didn’t think to be possible. Still, you found strength to give him a verbal response.
- Haven’t you had enough fun by now? – and after a gasp – Why are you still here?
Sukuna shrugged, not even a little upset by your hostile reception.
- I was just passing by and happened to meet you again – he raised an eyebrow –I am surprised to see that you are still here, to be honest. I thought you have left these lands yesterday. This is the reason why you wanted the enchantment, is not it?
Before you could formulate an answer, he approached and lowered his four eyes to your hands; you clenched your fists and tried to hide them behind your back as a last attempt to save your dignity, but your move was ignored by him, who passed his hands around you and brought yours to his sight, examining their skin with simulated preoccupation. You gave up on any attempt to pull them back: though there was no harshness in the way he was holding them, you knew he had enough strength to break them in such case, or cut them off with the same easiness he has cut the stripe of your cloak or the lock of your hair.
- So it is happening already? – he frowned while caressing them with his thumbs, speaking more to himself than to you – So soon…
- Soon?! – you spat the word – Are you telling me you deceived me?!
Sukuna’s gaze turned to you in surprise at this accusation.
- What do you mean, brat?
- I gave you back the jewel my father stole from you and didn't ask for anything near its price in return, and yet look at me now!
- You knew that I was going to… that this was going to happen to me anyway… is this what you’re telling me, right?
- Hm?
His carefree manners were making you more and more furious and desperate.
- What did I do for you to deceive me like this?!
- Who said I deceived you? – he sighed – I thought you were smarter than this, dear. I was honest with you in our whole treaty. The seal was established according to the rules and the enchantment worked as well. Otherwise you would not have noticed any difference or, in a worst hypothesis, you would have died in the process. Well, not even I would be here in such case. If I broke the rules, I would be punished. You must know that.
You fell silent. That was true: in the Jujutsu world, if two individuals established a pact, both of them were under the obligation to respect the rules of the said pact, otherwise they would be punished – with death in the case of a human and with exorcism in the case of a curse. Still, you were convinced that something was wrong with your own deal.
- It cannot be…
You felt your eyes burning, full with tears that you weren’t able to contain. The weight of what you have done has reached you at last, and from it you couldn’t escape. But were you capable of carrying it? You doubted that.
You felt his hand wiping the tears of your cheek.
- Shhh… No more whining, dear – he lifted your chin to make you meet his gaze – Now, tell me what is going on... What is it that is upsetting you so much regarding the enchantment?
You were impatient, of course, but didn't offer any resistance. You spoke all at once before your voice could crack in a new burst of desperation.
- I came back to the village and found out that the only person who was able to see me was my father. No one else remembers me. And this situation made him insane… – you sobbed – Tell me, how is this possible?!
He giggled and assumed the tone of a Jujutsu teacher.
- You want me to confirm what you are not willing to tell yourself even in thoughts? Alright. I think I can do this for you. You know the rules as well as I do. If someone does not love you, they will forget about your existence. If they do, they will remember you, whether they are the only one in this case or not – and then, he had nothing for you now besides the logical conclusion of the case – So, if your father is the only one who can see you now… He must be the only one who loves you.

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer
Tumblr media
Kimetsu no Yaiba was really no surprise, yet it still surprised me. Like with Jujutsu Kaisen I had been seeing manga caps of this for months before the anime got announced. Once I heard UFOTable was in charge of it, I figured “well, there’s no way this won’t be good, but I’m not feeling very shonen right now.” And then I saw some gifs, I think at this point maybe 20 episodes were out, it’s been a while to remember clearly. I was like “okay, this is gorgeous, funny, action packed, and interesting. I may as well try a few episodes.”
Then I realized after several hours I was still watching and was nearly caught up to the 20 something episodes out at a time, so then I had to impatiently wait for the rest. Now I’m impatiently waiting for the movie to be remotely accessible before season two drops in...what? April? June? Not 100% sure when it is but I KNOW I need to watch the movie first because it’s supposedly an entire arc of the manga.
The story follows the Kamado siblings, Tanjiro and Nezuko, the only survivors of a massacre that left their mother and four other siblings dead. Nezuko too almost is lost, but unfortunately, the man responsible for killing their family also turned her into a demon.
A chance encounter with a demon slayer saves their lives, as he spares Nezuko and tells Tanjiro to become a demon slayer himself, launching him into this new world head first as he learns to take care of his sister in her predicament, though it seems for now, her demonic urges to kill and eat humans is subdued because of a gag the other demon slayer, Giyu Tomioka, put on her which allowed her human rationality to take back over.
Now Tanjiro is on a mission to hunt down the man responsible for his family’s suffering, find a way to return Nezuko’s humanity, and become a capable demon slayer who can protect anyone.
I think where Kimetsu no Yaiba wins the most points is in style. It really is a gorgeous anime to look at. Incredible character designs, beautiful backgrounds, those flipping sword animations...When you add in the ridiculous UFOtable crazy CG camera whatever you call it movement, it adds so much depth to the scenes and it feels smooth and seamless.
The characters win the next round of points. While yes, I did want to break Zenitsu’s spine occasionally, he was a fun character, loved his back story and he’s also voiced by one of my favorite voice actors, so thank god. While people think Nezuko or Inosuke stole the spotlight, I think Tanjiro is seriously a great protagonist. He is such an interesting character, with his own ethics meeting motives that conflict against those. He’s learning about an entirely new world of monsters, but somehow sees the human in each of those demons. Though the SECOND he gets wind of the bad guy, he’s like (KILL BILL SIRENS).
It was also a lot of fun seeing the story planting seeds to both his past and destiny, how he might’ve been destined to become a demon slayer had his father stayed healthy and alive, maybe, but the fact of the matter is it’s in his blood.
A lot of people complained while Nezuko is so, so, so cute, that her character lost a lot of agency and her voice to the gag. The second her inner monologue came about I about lost my mind like, YES, I want more from her! I want to hear her side of the story, BUT her silence doesn’t make her expressionless. There are so many points where you can tell exactly what she’s thinking with very little outside influence. I could enjoy her adorable antics or her extremely metal demon fighting for hours, but I really am interested to see where her story goes, whether she will in the end become human or learn into her demon self. Who knows. I don’t. I haven’t been reading the manga so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Another thing about Demon Slayer that REALLY strikes my fancy is a lean into the Japanese lore and history. I love anything to do with Japanese mythology and lore, so demons are just so yum yum. There are also lots of versions of demons in Japanese mythology, ayakashi, youkai, oni, etc., so it really intrigues me how demon slayer refers to its demons as Oni specifically, because in Japanese myth, they are specifically monsters that eat humans and have a much more hostile nature.
It’s also really cool that it’s set in the Taisho period. I got a little nibble of that from Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, but it is really hard to find series set in the very very beginning of the modern era, and seeing the blending of Japanese tradition and western aesthetics and technology is just so cool.
This anime is really good, and I mean, not even just for a shonen. It’s an amazing story, full of likeable characters and a lot of plot intrigue. The fact it’s gorgeous to boot is just such a bonus! Please give this anime a try and here’s hoping we get to see the movie before season two comes out but I’m SO excited about season two.

Everything you need to know about MANGA Plus by Shueisha
https://cottonfreakz.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/MangaPlus_feat-300x300.png
If you’re an anime or manga fan, you’ve probably heard of Weekly Shonen Jump, published by Shueisha. The story behind the very first anime you ever watched may even have sprouted from the world’s most famous manga magazine. Over Weekly Shonen Jump‘s sprawling 50-year history, they’ve published some of the most globally successful manga ever, including Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto.
Weekly Shonen Jump may have reached its peak weekly circulation of 6.53 million copies in the 1990s, but the march of time and the decline of print media haven’t stopped the magazine from expanding its net of readers. Jump’s audience has steadily become more global, as Shueisha looks towards digital distribution as a means of ensuring that their titles remain accessible towards a wide audience.
In 2014, Shueisha first launched Shonen Jump+, an online platform in Japanese that sells e-book versions of Jump manga titles as well as a digital version of Weekly Shonen Jump that can be read on mobile devices. The site allows users to read a large sample of Jump manga for free, and also serializes a number of original titles separate from the print magazine, including ēlDLIVE and DARLING in the FRANXX.
Meanwhile, in North America, popular Jump titles like My Hero Academia consistently top best-selling lists for graphic novels. From 2013 to 2018, Viz Media published a digital version of Weekly Shonen Jump, releasing new English chapters simultaneously with the Japanese magazine, and last December they launched a new website giving subscribers access to over 70 catalog titles.
However, this will not be the only means through which the latest Jump chapters will be available digitally from now on. Shueisha is launching a global version of Shonen Jump+ on January 28, called MANGA Plus. Not only will the site and app provide simultaneous releases of popular serialized titles like One Piece, it will also be available in every country except China and South Korea. The app will also be completely free, like the Japanese version of Shonen Jump+ currently is.
To talk about this new venture in detail, we visited Shueisha‘s offices and talked to Shonen Jump+ editor Shuhei Hosono, who also oversees MANGA Plus. He explained everything to know about MANGA Plus upon launch.
When did you first get involved with the project? And what are your thoughts as team leader?
I’ve been with Shonen Jump+ since it started in 2014. I was also involved in the online Jump Book Store that launched in 2012. Through my work on those projects, I wanted as much manga to be available as possible. Just like in Japan, there are a lot of manga readers overseas. So I want to bring Shonen Jump+ to people all around the world.
How exactly does Shonen Jump+ work?
Through Shonen Jump+, you can purchase a digital version of each issue of Weekly Shonen Jump at the same time the print version comes out. You can also buy e-books of the tankobon versions of Jump titles. On top of that, there are original manga titles that are serialized exclusively through the service.
The service itself is completely free to use. The first chapters of every manga on Shonen Jump+ manga are available for any user to read. Also, the latest chapters that are serialized will also be available for anyone to read for a limited amount of time.
When did the idea of making a global version of Shonen Jump+ start?
We started talking about it in 2017, and we’ve been working at it right until launch.
What languages will the service be in?
For now, we just have an English and Spanish version planned. The Spanish version will launch around February/March, although it may have a different lineup from the English version. If there is enough demand, we may add more languages.
What is the difference between the Viz‘s Shonen Jump app and MANGA Plus?
Well, for starters, there will be more titles available through MANGA Plus. We plan to add as many titles as we can, even relatively minor ones that previously never had in English release.
Viz focuses mainly on Weekly Shonen Jump titles, while MANGA Plus will have titles from other Shueisha publications, like Jump Square and the Jump+ online manga.
MANGA Plus will also be available in more regions. It will available throughout the entire world except in China, South Korea, and Japan, as they already have their own separate services. Previously under-served regions like Southeast Asia will be able to read manga through this app. Up until now, Shueisha‘s titles have been distributed throughout North America, Europe, Asia etc., via local publishers or distribution lines. This marks the first time that Shueisha is expanding direct service globally.
Will every manga that is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump be available through this service (and not just the popular ones)?
Yes. The starting lineup will be almost everything that’s currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. There will be over 30 titles being released simultaneously with Japan.
As for titles that have concluded and are not currently being serialized in the magazine, such as Naruto, we plan to serialize them through the app from the beginning so that new readers can experience them, one chapter at a time. 10 of these serializations are already planned, and more will be added gradually over time.
The full starting lineup is below:

For the titles that Viz shares with MANGA Plus, will the translation be the same?
Yes. As for other titles they handle, they may use different translators.
Will the interface be similar to Shonen Jump+?
Yes, it will be based on the existing app. On the home page, you’ll see the latest chapters to be uploaded underneath each day. You’ll also be able to access the full list of titles available through a drop menu.
Do you think manga itself is changing as the medium becomes more global?
Yes, there are more readers from around the world, and more manga is being born overseas. These days, the quality of manga from around the world is incredibly high. Although we at Shueisha make manga primarily to appeal to a Japanese audience, we hope that the stories can have a global appeal too. It’s one of the many things that editors take into consideration when we think about what kind of manga to publish next.
However, at the core of it, manga is always about telling interesting stories, and no matter how much time passes, that side of manga has never changed.
As the artist behind Dragon Ball Super, do you get a lot of feedback from overseas fans? How would you characterize that feedback?
When I have been to overseas events, people have spoken to me. The way people overseas perceive and evaluate my work is very different from Japan, so it’s been very helpful to me as reference for creating the story.
How important would you say the international audience is for the success of Dragon Ball Super?
Because Dragon Ball is loved throughout the entire world, I think that the sequel Dragon Ball Super must also be loved in the same way.
Are you personally excited that your overseas fans can now catch up and read your new chapters at the same time as Japan?
I am very grateful that there is no time lag for the release of the manga. If the information from Japan is conveyed in a fragmentary manner, then readers won’t be able to taste the initial emotions and surprise. I am very excited about the simultaneous release.
Masashi Kishimoto, creator of Naruto, also left a message: “Jump’s manga will now be available at the same time all over the world! Now that it’s an official service, there will be a lot to read! Wonderful!”
