I still think that Lupin and Holmes should be friends, and hate Sholmès together. I like the idea that the first meeting in that short story was actually between Lupin and Holmes, and they kept this respectful friendly antagonistic dynamic. But they are definitely allies, at least occasionally, and ignore each other the rest of the time. Sholmès meanwhile is an asshole. I've only read one book with him, but yeah. Not a good guy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arsene Lupin and his nemesis "Herlock Sholmes". Fun fact, Maurice Leblanc originally wanted Arsene's nemesis to be Sherlock Holmes, but he couldn't because of copyright, so he changed his name to Herlock Sholmes. Now both characters are in the public domain so they can meet at last without name changes.

Mother, i had a request but i forgot what it was 😭😭 i was sooo excited tooo 😫
But in trying to remember i had another brilliant idea!!
Reader x Reggie where theyre both stoic, slightly volatile 🐍 but theyre actually really soft and mushy. And then SURPRISE!! Theyre actually also dating Remus who takes care of them and is super protective. Maybe its revealed near the full moon and possessive Moony makes an appearance.
Siri is flabberghasted; Barty is horrified his darling sweethearts are be defiled; James is shook; and Lily is yhe ultimate bro and super proud of Rem.
Anyway, im sorry your computer was so mean to you. I hope you're looking after yourself 🩵🩵
......this is going to go down in history as my most controversial post........😈 may I present to you.....poly!MoonWater 😈😈😈😈😈
poly!moonwater x fem stoic!reader (i.e., Remus Lupin x Regulus Black x reader)
Sirius Black was admittedly currently going through a hard time.
Now, depending on who you asked, one (literally everyone and anyone) might say it was his own fault.
But if you asked Sirius Black? It was everyone else and their insufferable happiness that was to blame.
His insufferable best-friend-that-anyone-could-ever-ask-for finally landed the woman of his dreams and said woman of previously mentioned best friend was horribly in love with the sod.
Even his baby brother was happy! Which seemed like an oxymoron because in looking at Regulus Arcturus Black, one would assume that boy had never known a single moment of happiness in his life.
If one took into account their childhoods, they’d be right.
But Regulus Black, who was quiet in a way that made you feel like you were always being judged and ridiculed (you were) who very rarely had a kind thing to say about anyone had found happiness (read: a girl) who, for all intents and purposes, could be his personality doppelganger.
One difference, however, was that you were quiet in a way that always had one feeling like you knew too much, saw too much, and you were far too perceptive for anyone’s good. You always seemed to be analyzing the people around you and Sirius, sue him, found that incredibly disconcerting.
He did not wish to be known, thank you very much.
And even Moony! Moony, the bastard, was seeing someone! Fucked if Sirius knew who though because the sod wouldn't tell anyone who they were. He just kept popping back to the dorm room covered in hickies and looking far too pleased with himself whilst offering no details.
He was even spending entire nights away from the dorm, and always made sure he had the sodding map with him so they couldn’t even see where he was.
So yeah, Sirius was pissed.
And before you ask – no, it’s not because he was lonely – in fact, he had frequent visitors in his bed thank you very much.  And NO, he didn’t want to discuss the fact that perhaps if he didn’t run at the first sign of commitment or emotional intimacy, he too would have happiness.
Perhaps he just wanted everyone else to be slightly less happy for his own sake.
Did no one ever think about Sirius Black?
Give right now for example. He and Regulus had been...hanging out (if that’s what you could call the two of them sitting together not speaking as they each did their own homework) since Sirius insisted it was important to do so, especially since Sirius no longer lived at home meaning that their usual means of brotherly bonding (read: trauma) no longer took place.
And then James showed up (he was so lucky Sirius loved him) who was but of course accompanied by Lily Evans (she was so lucky she’s as lovely as she is) which turned into a small James Potter roast on account of Regulus and Lily both having years’ worth of material from hating him up until recently, and Sirius had loads of material on account of him being a certified hater.
And then Moony showed up, and if Sirius didn’t know any better, he had definitely been fooling around mere moments ago.
But Sirius did know better.
“Moony, what broom closet did you just crawl out of and where’s the poor soul that was stuck in there with you?” He spat.
Remus merely chuckled and pulled a book out of his bag, making himself comfortable in one of the library’s grandfather chairs. “No one was stuck anywhere with me.”
“No, I’m sure they were a very willing participant.” Regulus drawled, looking particularly bored for all intents and purposes, never bothering to lift his gaze from his book.
“No need to be jealous, baby Black. You’re more than welcome to join me in such broom closets.” Remus joked with a wink.
“Oi!” Sirius swatted at Remus on behalf of his brother (he’s welcome). “That’s my baby brother you’re talking about, and he’s taken thank you very much.”
“Merlin knows how,” James muttered none too quietly, “it’s not like he’s very approachable.”
Regulus lifted a lazy eyebrow as he looked at James from above the pages of his book. “I’ll have you know I’m very approachable to those I wish to be approached by.”
“Hi Reggie!”
“Get fucked.” Regulus called back to Barty Crouch Junior, hardly sparing his best friend a glance as he approached him from behind.
“Wow, Reggie’s in a good mood today, huh?” Barty said as he sat on one arm of Regulus’ chair, causing James to laugh until he realized that Barty wasn’t joking.
Suddenly another body showed up and gently sat on the other arm of Regulus’ chair.
Sirius watched as Regulus’ impassive face completely cleared of all contempt and he looked up at you with pure and unadulterated adoration.
It made Sirius sick.
“Bonjour, mon cheri.” He murmured softly, in complete contrast to the harsh, militarized way he had previously been spitting at everyone else.
You smiled gently at the boy as you pulled a notebook out of your book bag and produced a small, pressed flower, handing it to Regulus between your thumb and forefinger.
Regulus looked at it like you had just presented him with a hundred-year-old bottle of fire-whiskey.
“Did you pick this for me?” He asked gently, plucking the flower from your fingers with matching delicacy.
You offered him a quiet ‘mhm’ and Sirius noticed a shy smile grace your lips. Regulus’ eyes moved from the flower to your face, and he gazed at you like you had hung the moon.
“Merci, mon amour.” He said reverently and pressed a kiss to your cheek.
Lily looked at the two of you with a smile one might see on the face of a proud mother, James looked at the two of you like he was seeing a bowtruckle for the first time, and Remus looked oddly taken with the show of affection. Barty was apparently the only other sane one amongst them – oh gods, maybe Sirius really was losing it.
“Where the fuck has this Regulus been the last six years?” Barty muttered incredulously.
Without much effort on your part, you reached over Regulus’ shoulder and shoved Barty off the arm of the chair and onto the floor before sliding to sit directly in Regulus’ lap.
“You...alright, Crouch?” James called tentatively from his place on the other side of the couple.
“Oh, I’m fine. That’s just how she shows her love.” Barty said as he bounced back up, completely unperturbed.
“Is it now?” Sirius asked, tone dripping with sarcasm. Remus swatted Sirius’ leg with his book.
“What?” Sirius squawked.
“Be nice.” He chided.
“I am nice! And why do you care?” Sirius argued, though he never got an answer.
“I think they’re cute.” Lily announced, sending a sly smirk towards Remus.
“See? Lily gets it.” Remus said with a shrug as he went back to his book.
Sirius hated every single one of them.
But if Sirius thought that had been rough, he had no idea what was in store for him today.
Sirius, Remus, Peter, James and... Lily had all been sitting at the Gryffindor table during dinner when Sirius noticed you rushing into the Great Hall looking rather frazzled.
“Whoa, what’s going on with Y/N?” Peter asked, apparently having noticed you at the same time as Sirius.
The conversation stopped abruptly as Remus’ head snapped towards the entrance, seemingly on high alert upon hearing of your arrival.
Sirius watched as you scanned the Hall before your eyes fell on their group. Your face crumpled in misery, and you rushed over. You were usually so polished and poised, any and all emotions locked away behind a well-fitted mask, no wonder you and Regulus got along so well.
Regulus...something must have happened to Regulus. Sirius had a dreadful feeling settle in the pit of his stomach; what could have happened to make you rush up to him looking that alarmed?
Except...you breezed right past him.
“What’s wrong, lovebug?” Remus cooed quietly, causing Sirius to choke on his own spit.
“He was hurt during practice.” You cried quietly, voice no more than a whisper as you moved to step between Remus’ spread legs where he had rotated on the bench to face you. His hands landed on the back of your thighs were his thumbs rubbed soothing circles into your tight clad legs.
“Okay. How hurt?” Remus asked just as quietly, ignoring the sputtering happening from James, the chuckling from Lily, and the horrified expression painting Sirius’ face.
“Dislocated shoulder.” You cried miserably, as if you’d just been told Regulus was damned to spend the rest of his life in a vegetative state.
Remus’s mouth looked like it was fighting really hard to smile as his eyes pooled with equal parts fondness, worry (for you or Regulus, Sirius wasn’t sure at this moment), and no shortage of love.
What the fuck was going on right now!?
“What the fuck is going on right now!?” Sirius demanded, his outside voice echoing the one inside of his head.
You startled a little at his exclamation, leaning closer into Remus who increased his embrace around you.
“What’s happening dear padfoot, is it appears your brother has been injured during quidditch practice. Perhaps you ought to go see how he is?” Remus taunted as he continued running soothing hands over your body.
“Yeah, yeah; the sky is blue, and people get hurt in quidditch. Now what is this!?” He screeched gesturing wildly at the two of you.
You looked equal parts embarrassed from the attention and equal parts wanting to tell Sirius off for downplaying what you clearly thought was some great upheaval in Regulus’ life when Lily spoke up.
“I’m surprised it took you this long to notice, Pads.”
His mouth dropped open as he turned to regard his best friend’s girlfriend with a look of pure betrayal.
“Et tu, Lily!?” Sirius cried as James sputtered, “you knew!?”
Remus just smiled as he shoved his nose into your collarbone. You brought up a hand to begin scratching at his scalp, and Sirius was certain the sods leg would be thumping in contentment if he were a dog.
“Let’s go, Sirius.” Remus finally muttered, interrupting an argument that was going nowhere between James, Lily, and Sirius. “You’ve got a brother in the hospital wing.”
You hurried on ahead of them, clearly not interested in the talk the two friends were about to have.
“So, are you fucking my brother too or just fucking him over by screwing his girl?” Sirius finally spat with his arms crossed petulantly over his chest.
Remus groaned and looked up at the ceiling, as if praying for strength to get through this conversation with Sirius Drama Queen Black. “Sirius, can you ask me a question that’s less likely to get me punched in the face?”
“No.” Sirius muttered.
“He’s happy, Sirius. I promise.” Remus pressed. “He...he really deserves all the love he’s getting.”
And Sirius would have been an absolute arse if he’d had anything to say in response to that...
Don’t get him wrong, Sirius was an arse and did have many things to say in response to that, but the words died on the tip of his tongue when they walked into the hospital wing to see you sitting on the end of Regulus’ hospital bed.
Regulus, save the sling holding his arm to his chest and the fact that he was sitting in a hospital bed, looked as casual as Sirius ever remembered seeing him, smiling at you with...
Love.
A lot of love.
“I’m fine, amour, I promise.” They heard him plead with you as they approached.
“Still have all your limbs, I see.” Remus commented as he walked over and pressed a gentle kiss to Regulus’ hair, causing the youngest Black to blush something fierce as he looked over at Sirius.
“I’m sure she told you I was comatose.” He commented quietly, turning and offering you a wink.
“Don’t tease me...” You moaned, looking very much like you still wanted to fold Regulus up and put him in your pocket for safe keeping.
“Yeah, don’t tease her, love. You’d be sitting in this hospital bed all on your lonesome with no one you dote on you otherwise.” Remus jokingly chided.
“Love.” Sirius groaned with a dramatized gag.
“Oh, grow up, Siri.” Regulus barked.
Sirius’ head snapped over to his brother at the sound of his childhood nickname. Regulus’ cheeks were still dusted pink, whether it be at the unplanned outing of his relationship, being hurt, or the gravity of this moment.
Regulus hadn’t called him that since they were children...like, real children before the trauma, the alienation, the disinheritance, the running away...
Perhaps because Regulus had spent all of that time living in unmeasurable pain. Just like Sirius had.
And maybe, now...Regulus had people who made him feel brave enough to be vulnerable like this, to reconnect in ways he long thought impossible.
Fuck Moony and his good naturedness; Sirius hated that Remus was right about this.
“Oh, fucking Godric.” Sirius muttered petulantly as he pulled Regulus into a bone crushing hug.
Literally.
“Sirius!” Regulus groaned before Sirius was ripped away from his brother. Sirius expected Remus to be the one throwing him to the floor for inadvertently hurting Regulus’ injury...but it was you.
“You idiot.” You hissed as new tears formed in your eyes, immediately moving to grab the ice pack from the bedside table and gently placing it on Regulus’ shoulder.
Remus and Regulus looked at you with so much adoration, Sirius was certain hearts were going to start pouring out of their eyes and floating around their heads.
“I’m fine, thanks!” He called out as he hauled himself up off the floor.
“Oh good.” You said sarcastically.
“I don’t like this.” Sirius grumbled, causing all three faces to turn to him.
“Pads...”
“Sirius, please.” Regulus implored.
“What if you break his heart?” He asked no one in particular. “What if you hurt my baby brother? Who am I supposed to support then? Or you; what am I supposed to do if you hurt my best friend? And what if you tossers hurt Y/N!”
The three of you shared a look before his brother turned to him. “Sirius, if we breakup, I give you permission to side with Remus.”
“And if we break up, I promise you can side with Y/N.” Remus added.
“Nope.” You said quickly, “that’s fine, I don’t need to be included in this.”
Sirius groaned out a sigh of relief. “Oh, thank gods. Okay, okay. I guess I'll allow it then....”
“THE THREE OF YOU ARE WHAT!?” Barty screeched as he stood at the door of the infirmary, still in his quidditch kit.
“Do we actually have to have this conversation again?” You groaned quietly.
Remus shot Regulus and extremely guilty look as he slowly stood.
“Remus.” Regulus warned.
Remus grimaced and slowly made his way over to you.
“Remus John Lupin, I swear to Salazar...”
“Regulus, I love you; I do. But...he’s you’re friend an- NOW DOVE” He shouted, and the two of you took off in a sprint out of the infirmary.
“Quite the catch you’ve got yourself there Regs.” Sirius taunted.
“Sod off.” Regulus muttered as Barty made his way over to his bedside.
“Don’t mind if I do.” Sirius jeered as he, too, took off out of the infirmary, leaving Regulus Black to deal with the likes of Barty Crouch Junior on his own.

You know, I was thinking. At first I was horrified with the idea of AJ dying and not coming back like some did before. I think it's harder to accept that finality not only because he was a dear, but also a main character. And thinking better, isn't this what happens a lot in so many books? Characters die. It's inevitable most of the times. And they don't come back. The story continues and we have to deal and mourn like the characters who goes on.
Didn't we see Christopher dying? Max Lightwood? Livvy? Dumbledore, Lupin, Tonks, Sirius? So many in Game of Thrones or other shows and movies and books? We can't save all the characters. It's unrealistic. What we can do is try to go on and remember with love, and continue fighting with the ones left behind.
I think it's very much to do with the fact that people expect fiction to be different from life - the latter where death is permanent and inevitable. But fiction is imitation and reflection of life, so yeah. Very mature view from you btw.
BUT. I must say something I've been thinking about in the last couple of days because of all the pain and hurt and anger from the readers (hope yall are okay girlies)
Madeleine.
I am NOT AT ALL condoning her actions or justifying her character. BUT. If we feel such rage and disappointment when a character died (fictional/someone we've known for so little time), then why does Madeleine's reaction seems not very overdramatic does it?
Make no mistake, she has taken it too far and she is a psychopath now.
But I think it's very interesting. Because the death of Arthur and Joseph are similar in many ways. It was so sudden and unexpected. It was someone who was very beloved and never did any harm.
I know we might think "yeah but I wasn't being serious I was just venting"...if we vent SO HARD for a fictional character, what would we do in Madeleine Bellefleur's shoes?
It scares me.
Because most of wouldn't do the shit she did not because we are good but because we don't have the guts (personal opinion). She completely went over to the dark side (so to speak) and that takes conscious thought and effort.
Very, very scary.

Thats the art of getting by, by sarewolf
Again, new to marauders. This fic 3 that I’ve read. Feel free to shoot me recs, currently looking for ~100,000 word fic with a good angst balance and no major character death.
Summary: Overall this story was INCREDIBLE. I loved the writing style, such a good amount of angst, and an easy to follow narrative. It raised Harry like exactly how I wanted and was so cutey and sweetly and UGH
SPOILERS BELOW BEWARE
Chapter one
I already like the opening quote. Can tell the writing is going to be good.
God the angst is already great
He’s only 24 wild
I kind of forgot just how much he lost that night, like all of his closest friends were dead. Even in canon, with no world star this probably sucks the worst for Lupin.
Okay I’m actually crying already
I’ve been wanting a babyfic since the first one I read
This is such a hard thing to do, parenting is hard without the trauma and sob storying
Chapter two
I wonder how they are going to reincorporate Sirius
And I’m concerned about Harry’s quietness, I feel like that’s not consistent with who he grows up to be
Hoping for some baby Ron and harry content eventually
I never give Kudos until the end of the fic, this is incredible and I absolutely adore it already
Literally crying from how sad Remus is Jesus
Chapter three
YES love old lady gossip
Neris is so cute delicious
Plus Harry is opening up a lot, so far very happy chapter!
So gay bruh
HARRY BEING SAD TOO IS KILLING ME JUST A BABY FR
This is actually fucking INFURIATING him being like “Sirius never loved us” like BRO I know you’re being LIED TO but I CANNOT HANDLE IT TOO SAD
Chapter four
Now I need to be a depressed widow with a three year old son who loves me
Like I think just having a child would patch my soul
This is actually the cutest thing ever love love love
I think me and remus lupin are the same person
Like gay traumatized werewolf = teenaged girl
“Oh the memories, oh the love” SO ME
YES RON AND HARRY BEST FRIENDS IM GONNA SOB
Damn he’s in love with Sirius fr fr
Can tell this is a shift, so gonna do a small recap
Wonderful characterization
Remus kind of being forced to push forward is great narratively, a little concerned about how it will work with pacing
They write Harry very well, not annoying as children can often be in fic
Chapter five
This is what I wanted, you see James and Lily in harry and remus is just thoughtful and reflective enough to show the audience the importance of this its just MWAH
Oh my god
Baby trauma. He’s so cute and being such a little bitch
Literally so sad, like remus is such a better parent than the Dursleys could ever be but him knowing what harry had makes it sad
If I have to read “angry fucks” again im gonna lose it, say sex please, at least sometimes
YES HE’S FREEEE
Chapter six
God this sucks, like I know they aren’t truly in danger but the emotional turmoil goes crazy
3 chapters till we get Sirius saying it now
Cannot understate how much remus’s pining and distraught connects to me
Like I can tell they were in love but SO TOXIC which, again, is teenage girl core
Not to diminish the relationship, I think the way teenage girls evaluate breakups and romance is like peak human condition and is incredibly poignant amidst the issues of war and death and loss.
YES FUCK YES HELL YEAH INNOCENT INNOCENT INNOCENTTTTTT FUCK PETER HATE THAT SON OF A BITCH
Chapter seven
UGH I know I said fuck Peter but this still sucks ass
When do I get to see Sirius. Ik I said 3 chapters but I didn’t mean it
Damn Petes evil as fuck
The justice in him being DECLARED innocent is so beautiful. I wish that could’ve happened in the books, he died being known as a shitty, terrible human being
Chapter eight
Ok skip this shit and jump to the gay sex I do not want a flashback rn I need TEARS
Jk obviously its important and builds suspense, well written two with good symbolism
Fuck fuck fuck fuck just kiss please I need them to kiss please
Like I actually cannot watch them be fucking roommates ill vomit
Sobbing sobbing sobbing “I hope not” Jesus fucking christ let me suck the authors dick I love this sm
Chapter nine
Just taking in the idea that both Sirius and Harry see each other as a replacement for James in the books, that is such a beautiful like concept with such horrible influences on how they treat each other and I really want to see how its reconciled here, if its relevant at all
Harry with his two dads that barely speak to each other
I do need reconciliation but making sure the weight of tragedy is like there also seems important
But also, please, just fuck already
Chapter ten
Ok remus time to put your big boy pants on and apologize
Like actually nothing will fix itself until you say sorry man
“He’s pack” BRUH harry
Pls having to tell everyone you’re living with this famous not-criminal is so funny I actually am losing it
Pls just be nice to each other for once bruh
Yay!! Nice!!
They’re so like fucked up its messy brother
Chapter eleven
THIS IS SO CUTE IM GONNA KMS
The dog plushie, the memory album, literally everything god I love Christmas
Omfg. Sweater. Sobbing.
AND HITTING ME WITH ANGST AT THE END. This is such a good joy-depression balance
Like its SO SO SAD like irrevocably depressing and filled with grief but also like LIFE and CHILDHOOD and JOY and bruuuhh
Chapter twelve
evil
Chapter fourteen
Basically skipped twelve and thirteen
Jesus Christ
That was gay sex fs
The dementors kiss scene was fucking heart breaking, like devastatingly sad but obviously Peter deserved it
Actually idk, soullessness is so horrific
Then THE KISS and the SEX and everything it was so raw and good and Jesus fucking christ
I want to have sex with eric again bruh
Just so sad, and so happy at the end with the talk of learning to live with it and just UGH amazing I love it
Literally cannot think of a critique atm, im sure ill have some at the end though
FULL RECAP
Yes I know I skipped 16 and 17 and I'm sorry.
Overall this story was INCREDIBLE. I loved the writing style, such a good amount of angst, and an easy to follow narrative. It raised Harry like exactly how I wanted and was so cutey and sweetly and UGH. I will say I wish there was more to the plot than “everyone is sad and trying to not be anymore”While that is a completely reasonable story, it does make it a little boring. But because this fic is fairly short it works out alright. My only true criticism is going to be on the pacing. I am not sure at all when Harry and Remus were introduced to each other, or how far after that Sirius came into their lives. I also think Harry and Sirius’ connection, while amazing, was a bit unrealistic at the beginning. For a child with this much past to IMMEDIATELY latch onto someone like this is kinda wild, but it works for the story so no big deal honestly. I think characterizations were good, not great. However, this is a situation we haven’t seen marauders in and I’m not super familiar with how marauders are usually characterized outside of reading the books and watching movies, so I’d reevaluate characterization stuff once im more engrossed in the fandom.
This is something I just thought about while adding tags, having moody in this fic was nice. He's a character I'd like to see more out of what I've read so far in marauders
9/10, truly loved this one

Tag Game
Tag 9 people you want to get to know better. I was tagged by @hayffiebird Thank you c:
Three ships:
Virgilia/Plutarch. I know, a bit cliche to put my own ship forth here, but I'm noticing how much less of a shipper I've become insofar that I've more lukewarm takes on most ships, but this is one I'm really passionate about. It really (obviously) encompasses a lot of what I personally enjoy in seeing a relationship unfold. Virgilia has her own personal journey that fits well with Plutarch's. They complement each other so well and it's enjoyable to write / think about them :>
David Butt/Julia Montague. Those two are from the BBC series Bodyguard and they are such an interesting couple. There's hatred initially, each of their moments bringing them closer, and the final resolution of their story (the question of being together) never finding an answer. The show has its own problems with the portrayal of Muslim characters, and tbf whenever I rewatch it I only watch the first three episodes, but it has a sort of tension and development that I've really never seen replicated. I'm a sucker for bodyguard stuff, but none ever did it as well as this show, and most of those stories are far too smutty, far too overprotective, far too easily and quickly resolve (and me and @beedelia totally have a Plutarch&V AU based on those two).
This is NOT a ROMANTIC ship (hence the &), but I love PLATONIC stuff so much, so: Ellie Williams&Joel Miller. I really, fully, enjoy their growth together. I love a good parenting platonic not-actually-related situation. Their story is so raw. It's the way that their relationship is painted through struggles. It's the going through everything to keep their dad/their daughter safe. I love their journey and I love both games so much.
This was really hard because, as I said, I've got plenty of ships and I feel rather lukewarm about them. As in, yeah, I enjoyed this, but it doesn't have my mind spinning once I finish it and am done with the show/game. Here's a list of some ships I enjoy, but do not have a lot to say about: F!Commander Shepard/Miranda Lawson (Mass Effect), Cullen Rutherford/F!Inquisitor (Dragon Age), Will Graham/Bedelia Du Maurier (Hannibal), Serena Joy/Mark Tuello (Handmaid's Tale), Blackbeard/Stede Bonnet (Our Flag Means Death), Newt Scamander/Leta Lestrange (Fantastic Beasts). Was this cheating? Maybe, lol.
First ever ship:
I think my first ever ship was Captain Amelia/Dr. Doppler, mostly because I was very gay for Amelia and was excited for any romance interest she got. Like, it should have been me, but this was second best. I didn't write fanfiction about it or anything because I was far too young, but I think this was the first moment where I really shipped something.
First time I engaged with fandom might have been Remus Lupin/Tonks. Though I mostly read stuff rather than wrote anything.
First time I wrote something (in rp) was Haymitch/Effie, though I don't ship them anymore--same as Lupin and Tonks actually lol. Both for different reasons.
Last song: Bottom of the River by Delta Rae. Been listening to this one while writing!
Last movie: Everything Everywhere All At Once. I've had this on my watchlist since release and finally got around to it. Feels like something you should totally watch a second time. It was a brilliant movie.
Currently reading: A secret history. I'm not sure what to think of it yet & I'm halfway through. It's definitely interesting, but it's a very slow read (or maybe me mostly reading it in bed before falling asleep just doesn't read very fast).
Currently watching: Arctic Warrior. It's a German TV show about one (military) expert and one beginner having to survive (and travel through) the arctic parts of Finland. I usually don't enjoy those kind of shows, but I have a soft spot for Otto + watching it as an uncut reaction video from a favourite youtuber of mine is double fun. Actual tv series though, I want to start Succession (thanks Emily, lol) and/or Yellowjackets.
Currently consuming: I ate my salad + slice of bread for the evening :>
Currently craving: Still a bit hungry, so maybe some fruit later. I've got mango and peaches at home :)
Tagging: @beedelia @footnoteinhistory @plvtarch @mrsalanavalentine @rosegardeninwinter @ellanainthetardis @endlessnightlock @tinyfrenchowl @mollywog @districtunrest @bexbaxx @thegoddessprose @jenniferiawrence

I'm not sure if this has been explored yet, but how do you picture an AU where, instead of Harry being the orphaned Chosen One, it was Ron? I've seen posts on what Harry's personality would be like if he weren't so traumatized from the get-go, and I'm wondering about how Ron's personality would change if he didn't have Molly and Arthur in his life (or even his siblings)! It's sort of a swap AU that I haven't really seen others discuss.
This one got away from me and I ended up writing a 3k AU ficlet!
I think a LOT of it would depend on who he grows up with instead.
Uncle Bilius or Aunt Muriel are the ones we know- but there might be other Weasleys he'd grow up with- but I can see Aunt Muriel feeling entitled to taking him. And Bilius (who I always pictured as dying from complications of alcoholism in the series)  after losing his brother Arthur, Bilius sees this poor kid trapped with Muriel and decides to sober up so he can be there for Ron.
-------------------------------------------
Ron Weasley, the Boy Who Lived
“So I’ve performed a kingside castling. What do you do?” Uncle Bilius asked.
“I’m moving out my knight to F6,” Ron replied, watching as the piece moved into the place.
“Then I’m moving my queen to E2 to protect my bishop,” said Uncle Bilius, a smile on his scruffy face. “Congratulations, you’re setting up a Siberian Trap!”
Ron beamed. He loved it when Uncle Bilius would come over to their house. It was rare he had company aside from the random Weasley cousin— but they never wanted to stay around long since Aunt Muriel was a battle axe.
They continued and Ron quickly won the game. He wasn’t very good at remembering the names for the different strategies, but he was good at executing them.
“That was very good, Ron! You been reading that book I gave you?”
“Er… Not really,” Ron said with a sheepish shrug.
“Instinctively knew it? Fucking brilliant,” said the older man with a shake of his shaggy head. “You keep it up and you could be a World Champion.”
Ron’s face warmed at the compliment.
“Ronald!” came a piercing yell from the other room making both of them wince.
“Coming, Aunt Muriel!” he called back.
“Been having fun with your Uncle Bilius for too long?” Bilus asked with a rueful grin.
“Yeah…” Ron smiled before his face fell. “I think I have a piano lesson coming up.”
“Do you enjoy playing piano?”
He gave a shrug. “Not really.”
It’s not like his opinion on anything mattered. There were certain things he was supposed to do and so he did them.
Aunt Muriel would remind him quite often he had to live his life for everyone that had died— so that meant doing all the things they hadn’t and succeeding at them. He needed to be familiar with all the refined activities, do well in all his studies, be respectable and know the right people by name.
Ron was familiar enough with all the refined stuff. He did very well with his tutor, but that was mostly because Mr Lupin was a brilliant teacher and not because Ron was all that good of a student. As for respectability, it mostly came down to if his shoes were polished and his hair was combed right, if Aunt Muriel’s assessments had anything to do with it— and he was far sloppier than she liked and ‘far more Weasley than Prewitt!’ The right people tended to be blood-purist prigs from Bilius’s descriptions, and definitely didn’t include his Uncle Bilius. He never got to meet the right people, of course, because he never got to meet anyone.
Bilius walked him to Aunt Muriel who was seated at her usual high back chair. She was dressed up so that meant proper company was coming.
“Took you long enough!” Muriel said, tapping her cane in front of her with both hands.
“Ron’s really coming along with his chess!” Bilius told her patting Ron on the shoulder.
"Which has little to do with you, I'm sure, Bilius,” she said with an eye roll.
“Quite right! The lad’s a natural. He’s able to do all sorts of incredibly advanced strategies without even looking at the books we give him.”
“Imagine what he’d do if he ever sat down and actually read.”
“I read,” Ron answered.
 She gave a particularly powerful glare.
“Comics don’t count!”
“I read real books!" he declared before quietly adding, "I just haven’t read the chess ones much.”
She rolled her eyes. She did that a lot when he spoke. She mostly wanted reports of what he’d accomplished that day. Anything else just seemed to annoy her.
“When you get to Hogwarts we’ll see how your lack of discipline goes without a firm hand to bring you to task.”
“Give him a break, Muriel,” Bilius said, hand still on Ron’s shoulder.
“Oh? Should we just let him be a idler like his—”
“You won’t be insulting Arthur, you old bag!” Bilius roared, standing taller to his full height, chest puffing up and sizable midsection nearly toppling Ron over. “He was one of the best men in this world. Just because he didn’t have old money like you he gets trashed, but he was smart and hard working and brave and Ron’s every inch like him.”
Ron didn’t know what to do when he was compared to his dad like this. Part of him liked it— liked thinking there was any connection to his dad besides his coloring and height. But came the sting that he’d never really know if it was true. For all he knew, Bilius was just saying it to tee Muriel off.
“Tea!” she declared, looking quite scandalized by Bilius’s impertinence.
No matter how often they butted heads nor how often she noted how awful Bilius was, she still let him come around for some reason. Ron didn’t care why, he was just happy to have any company at all.
—--------
September first finally arrived, and with it excitement and dread. He wanted to do his family proud, he wanted to make friends, and he desperately wanted a chance to be away from Aunt Muriel… And then there was the ‘boy-who-lived’ bit of things.
It was easy to spot him— tall and gangling with freckles and bright red hair— the two times he’d been allowed out and about in Wizarding society he was inundated with random people wanting to shake his hand and pay respects and talk about his dead family. He’d awkwardly shake hands and say ‘thanks’ after old ladies would cry on him, saying how tragic it all was and how honored they were to meet him, which made zero sense because all he’d done is not die. He hadn’t done anything at all to do it either.
Bilius brought him to the station as Muriel had little interest in ‘finagling with teeming crowds of children and their overly emotional parents.’
“Got everything packed?”
“Yeah I think so,” said Ron, adjusting his shoulder bag and looking around the platform. Everyone else was surrounded by family.
Just down the way was a little boy around his age. He had messy black hair and was laughing as a little redheaded toddler with equally wild hair hung from his hand. Another pudgy blonde boy had a pair of parents hugging him and handing him a toad.
“Chin up, lad,” Bilius said, giving him a little cuff to the chin. “You’re gonna have a fine time! Meet some kids your own age, maybe blow up a cauldron or two, get to fly without Muriel chasing us with her cane.”
“Ye-eah,” Ron laughed, picturing the last time they’d taken his broom out and he’d accidentally snipped the top of her hedge with his broom.
Looking around to make sure no one saw, Ron put his arms around his Uncle’s full middle and gave him a hug which was firmly returned.
“Write me when you feel like it,” his Uncle said, a little hoarse.
“I will,” Ron told him earnestly. “See you at Christmas!”
Ron pushed his cart further down the train then realized he had to get his trunk on board and it might be a hair difficult. He turned around to ask for Bilius’s help, but his Uncle was already gone.
With a sigh, Ron started attempting to pull the trunk onto the train. He was strong, but it was awkward and not going well when his trainer slipped and he ended up arse-flat on the ground.
“Ron, are you alright?” came a familiar hoarse voice.
He looked up into the face of, “Mr Lupin! What’re you doing here?”
Mr Lupin was looking a bit shabby and tired, but otherwise in good spirits.
“I’m here to see my friend’s son off. He’s a first year, like you. I bet you two would like each other,” he said looking around himself. “Here, Harry! Come over, there’s someone I’d like you to meet!”
The same wild haired boy from before came running up.
“Harry, this is Ron. He’ll be in first year with you. He’s the boy I told you about.”
“Nice to meet you,” he said with a smile and a handshake. “Are you the one who’s so good at chess?”
Ron looked at Remus, surprised he’d been talked about enough for someone else to remember facts. “I’m pretty good, yeah.”
“If you have a set we can play it on the train ride there. My dad says it’s an awfully long ride.”
“I’ve got one,” Ron replied, patting his bag.
“Great! Let’s put you in with me, then,” said Harry, pulling out his wand. “I’ll help with your trunk.”
“Ah ah ah,” came a woman’s voice. She had long red hair and eyes just like Harry’s. She quickly lifted the wand from his hand. “No wand work until you’re on the train! How many times have I had to tell you?”
“Sorry, Mum,” said Harry, but he didn’t look all that sorry.
“He’s gotta get the practice in sometime, Lils,” a man who could only be Harry’s father said, toddler on his hip. He and Harry looked exactly alike, except for the green eyes.
“Yes, and that practice will be. On. The. Train,” Mrs Potter gritted out.
Mr Potter gave a besotted grin then waved his wand— with a Leviosa the trunk was put inside the train.
“Well, come and say goodbye,” Mrs Potter said, reaching out her arms towards her son.
Ron felt a pang as he saw Mr and Mrs Potter hugging their son, and the little toddler using this as an opportunity to grab Harry’s glasses.
“Reee,” she squealed, wilding waving them and nearly poking herself in the eye. The family all laughed and nuzzled her, and his parents looked so content. Had Ron’s parents been that happy? Had he grabbed glasses off of his brother’s face? Had his mother given him warm hugs and admonished the boys as they got up to no good? Had his father had a little mischief in his eye as he indulged them all?
Realizing he’d been staring for too long, Ron quickly boarded the train and found his seat.
Mr Lupin came into the compartment, and looked around with a smile. “These compartments haven’t changed at all.”
Ron gave a shrug and looked out the window at all the families, realizing he could still hear the Potters.
“Try not to get into too much trouble,” said Mrs Potter.
“At least, don’t get caught!” said Mr Potter. Mrs Potter let out a little groan but quickly they were all laughing. “And Harry, there’s something else. The boy you were just introduced to was Ron Weasley.”
“What?” Harry asked, voice high. “The Boy-Who—”
“The very same,” said his father sounding more serious. “He doesn’t need you making a big fuss about that or asking rude questions.”
“I wouldn’t do that!” Harry protested.
“Of course you wouldn’t,” Mrs Potter assured him. “Just be kind. He’s not had it easy.”
Ron’s face steadily pinked up.
“Have a wonderful time at Hogwarts,” Lupin said, with a pat to Ron’s shoulder, clearly having heard everything too. His once-tutor moved with greater speed than Ron had ever seen off the train. He could hear Lupin’s voice loudly say, “Well, Harry! What house are you hoping to be in?”
Ron smiled, realizing Lupin had given him time to recover and sort himself before Harry got to the compartment.
As the train got going, one of Harry’s friends, Neville Longbottom joined them as well. He’d seen him with his toad on the platform.
“Where’s your toad at?” Ron asked, as he fiddled with his chess set, not wanting to force it on anyone.
“My — Oh no!” Neville moaned before giving a smile. “He’s always hopping off. My Uncle Algie gave him to me. Bit of a pest, really.”
Ron had never had a pet. He’d hoped Muriel would allow him an owl, but she’d pointed out he knew no one to correspond with besides her, so what was the point? Maybe he’d get an owl after he’d made friends. If he made friends, Ron hastily corrected.
“Let’s look for him,” Harry said, getting up.
Neville and Harry quickly strode into the corridor, leaving Ron holding his closed chess set.
“Ron, you coming?” Harry asked, poking his head into the compartment.
“Oh right!” Ron said, happy to be included. “What’s it named?”
“Trevor,” Neville sighed before calling the name down the corridor.
They’d been looking for a while when they saw a group of boys all in wizards robes blocking the corridor, backs to them. The one in the middle looked about their age and had bright blonde hair.
Probably a Malfoy Ron thought to himself.
The other two weren’t distinguishing to look at other than their pure bulk and resemblance to a pair of bodyguards. Both were as tall as Ron and nearly twice as wide.
 Behind them came a wobbly high pitched voice saying, “I’d appreciate it if you’d let me pass!”
The boys gave a mocking laugh, and one of the bodyguards did a high pitched impression of the voice.
“Clearly, friendless and Muggleborn,” the blonde said with a derisive snort. “I mean, look at its clothes!”
Ron stepped forward, his fist clenching, but Harry burst ahead.
“Hey! What’re you doing, Malfoy?” Harry barked, marching over, his wand already drawn.
“Ohhh, if it isn’t Potty,” Malfoy said, turning around with a horrible sneer on his face. “I’m surprised they let you come to Hogwarts. I was pretty sure your Mudblood mum was going to keep you running around in the mud with Muggles.”
Ron and Neville both gasped at the horrible display of racism, but Harry was already letting a jinx out of his wand. One of the bodyguards around Malfoy managed to deflect the spell right into the person the group had been bullying; with a horrid squeal the little girl fell to the ground.
Draco’s wand was out, but Harry followed up the missed jinx with a punch. Neville joined him and soon the corridor was nothing but fists and swears.
Ron gave a good step on Malfoy’s head as he went to the crying girl on the ground.
“You okay?” he asked.
She had a pair of antlers growing from her bushy brown hair, and her teeth had turned into chipmunk teeth.
“I don’t know,” she whimpered, tentatively feeling the antlers. A few Prefects had come into the corridor and were pulling the boys apart.
“What are you blithering idiots thinking!” a burly Scottish Gryffindor Prefect said, pulling Harry off of Malfoy.
“He was bullying that girl, then he called my mum an M-word!” Harry snarled, aiming a kick at one of the bodyguards on the floor.
“Did he now?” the prefect said. “Well… Well, don’t fight in the corridors then.”
“Whaaad?” Malfoy cried out, blood gushing from his nose. “He hid me in the nose! He needs a dedenshun!”
“Aye, but it’s a bit early for that without you being even sorted into houses. Doesnae start the year well, ye ken?” he said, shaking his head and casting an Episkey on Malfoy and Neville who both had bloody noses. The prefect struggled with the girl’s antlers before giving up. “Now eff off to your compartments! I need to plan out my Quidditch team!”
“But- but I still have horns!” the girl squealed from behind her hands.
“And teeth,” Ron added.
She felt her teeth before flushing a deep radish color and her eyes becoming glossy. “No. Those were there to begin with.”
Ron went nearly the same color of radish as she. “Right. Erm, Harry— you know how to fix the antlers?”
Harry had just finished repairing his glasses and raised his wand. “Yeah. Mum always makes me learn the counterjinxes.”
She glared at Harry as he undid the spell and the antlers started to shrink.
“Might take a bit for those to go away entirely. And sorry about that. It was meant for Malfoy.”
“You’re not supposed to do spells in the corridor!” she said, poking her finger in Harry’s face.
Harry rolled his eyes. “Right. Ron, want to play chess?”
“Erm, sure. Yeah,” Ron said looking back to the bucktoothed girl. Malfoy had said she was friendless and Muggleborn. That couldn’t be an easy combination to start the year with. He knew what it was to be friendless. He’d been that his whole life. And his dad had always loved Muggles and Muggleborns according to Bilius. “Do you want to come with us? Play some chess?”
Harry gave him a look that clearly said not to do it. Ron ignored him.
“I would, but I found this toad,” she said, pulling a toad from her pocket. “I need to find its owner.”
“It’s Trevor!” Neville said, wiping the blood from under his nose with the back of his hand, then thrusting the bloody hand towards the girl. She shriveled with distaste at the bloody hand.
“I’ll get it.” Ron grabbed the toad and handed it to Neville. “We were looking for Neville’s toad when we ran into you.”
“Thanks for keeping him from being squished during the fight,” Neville beamed.
“So, you want to sit with us?” Ron asked the girl again. She looked at the unwelcoming Harry and bloody Neville, then at Ron, biting her lip.
“Alright,” she said, a small smile on her face, before thrusting her hand out. “I’m Hermione Granger.”
“I’m Ron. Ron Weasley,” he replied, shaking her hand.
“Are you really?” Neville asked as they went into the compartment. “I’ve read so much about you!” Hermione said, a broad grin on her face. “I got a few extra books for background reading, and you're in Modern Magical History and The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century!”
[END]
author's note So that was a fun little exploration.
Harry is much more forthright and prone to spell around as he's grown up with James Lily and Sirius all being so brilliant - and he's a bit more prone to speak his mind as he's more confident- so some more snark and lack of control on his part.
Ron is more shy and less prone to use his fists because he didn't grow up in a rowdy house- he's a bit less prone to speak his mind and more likely to sit back and observe. He's a much sadder Ron, and still insecure because he didn't get much socialization with peers- so he's a bit more patient and empathetic to Hermione.
Neville is much less shy and insecure- he's a bit more clueless and 'boyish' and confident- and just generally happier.
Also had Oliver Wood make an appearance as well as Remus.
Bilius was fun to write too

General Relationship Headcanons || Sirius Black
”Request: hi, love! i adore your new remus headcanon and i was wondering if you could write a general relationship headcanon with sirius black? if not, that’s completely fine. have a good day!
Notes: Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m sorry this took me a little longer than I anticipated but I also went really over the top, it’s twice the length of my Remus Headcanon I just got really into it. I was once again inspired to write Dad!Marauders so maybe I’ll get around to that. I wanted to thank you all for such positive feedback on my Remus Headcanon. I hope you enjoy this. Also thank you anon, I love you.
Warnings: fluff, smut, a bit of angst, canon can go fuck itself, Sirius Black deserves to be happy, not proof read because I wrote most of this in one sitting and didn’t have the heart to go back and reread. The ending is a little choppy

Sirius Black was never shown enough love as a child
Even at age 11 you were able to pick that up, when you were dragged into a train car with four other first years. James Potter, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius Black
He seemed nervous, he kept on looking out the window of the train car and fiddling with his fingers
James tries desperately to get everyone to talk, he feels likes he’s responsible for forging your guy’s friendship
Remus, Peter, he, and you hit it off immediately and you see Sirius smile at some of your jokes out of the corner of your eye but he’s nearly trembling
When you guys start talking about what houses you want to be sorted into he turns green
And when James says how he doesn’t want to be sorted into Slytherin he looks like he’s about to vomit
“Are you alright?” You ask him, placing a delicate hand on his shoulder
He seems uncomfortable with the contact so you move your hand away
“I’m just a little nervous” He admits that he comes from a long line of Slytherins, you offer to hex James for saying that for him, but he lets out a quick laugh and tells you it's fine
He’s actually really worried that he’s going to be sorted into Slytherin whilst simultaneously being terrified about what would happen if he gets sorted into another house.
Ravenclaw could be one thing
Hufflepuff another
But Gryffindor, that just couldn’t happen
You don’t touch him this time because you saw how he reacted last time but you reassure him that it will all be fine and no matter which house he gets sorted into you’ll still be his friend, no matter what
That earns you a real smile
A smile that takes your breath away
And even though you’re too young to understand what you’re feeling that’s when you start to fall for him.
You hold your breath while he gets sorted
Like him you feel very conflicted, you’re glad he’s not in Slytherin because of what he shared with you about his family
But at the same time you’re afraid for him
You might’ve only known him for a couple of hours but you have an inexplicable attraction to him and the idea of him being so scared breaks your heart
If you’re a Gryffindor he sits next to you and the others but doesn’t really say much because he’s too busy trying to figure out what he’s going to do
If you’re in a different house then you send him a smile across the Great Hall and go to find him after the feast
“How are you doing Sirius?”
He brushes you off, tells you he’s fine but you can tell he’s not, you let it go though and decide to give him his space, telling him that if he ever needs to talk you’ll listen
The next day in the Great Hall he receives a Howler from his mother, telling him how much of a useless disappointment he is. He plays it cool like it doesn’t really bother him but you can tell that he’s hurt and it makes you unbelievably sad
Your first lesson that day is together and though you sit with one of your dorm mates and he sits with James, you watch him the entire time, you just can’t seem to pry your eyes off of him.
As the year goes on and he starts to come to terms with what his life is going to be like now, he starts to come more and more out of his shell
Answering questions in class, laughing boisterously with his friends during meals, hexing people in the corridors, pranking Slytherins for shits and giggles
But it’s almost as though he’s forgotten about you, he smiles at you when he sees you in the halls or in classes but he doesn’t actively seek you out like you wished he would.
And you’re too scared to because you told him that you would always be there if needed someone to talk to but he hasn’t come to you yet
So that obviously means that he doesn’t want to talk to you
And that’s fine
You’re not going to force a friendship
You still study with Remus in the library
And talk with James about his day when you bump into him
And help Peter if he’s having trouble in a class
But you and Sirius don’t seem to click the same as you do with the rest of them
This continues through your second year until about 5 weeks into your third year.
At this point he’s starting to physically mature a bit, not a lot, that doesn’t come for a few more years, but his shoulders get a little broader, he gets a little taller, his legs start growing hair.
Girls start paying him attention, and more attention than the harmless crushes from previous years
His blossoming looks paired with his wit and sarcasm have every single person in his grade and younger turning their head to take a second look
Sirius being the humble soul he is-
No I’m just fucking with you
Being the little shit that he is, all of this just goes to his head
And he becomes even more insufferable than he was
But you’ve never found him insufferable, not really
You just told yourself that because it was easier than confronting your feelings for him
One day he, James, Remus, and Peter pull a prank that ends up with you covered in quill ink while on your way to Herbology
You weren’t their intended target
You still spoke quite a bit with three of them
It really was just a prank gone awry
But it still sucked
You stalked back to your dorm abandoning your friends in the hallway, not making eye contact with any one as you passed by
Sirius noticed this
He couldn’t stop himself from watching as you jogged down the hallway
Head down
Trying to evade people’s gazes
He’d barely talked with you in 2 years but he was hit by a tremendous feeling of guilt
He hadn’t meant to upset you, he really hadn’t
So he told the others that he wouldn’t be attending History of Magic that day (what else is new?)
And instead took off for you down the hallway
Never mind your house, when you come back down into the common room after taking a shower there’s Sirius Black, lounging on a sofa like he owns the damned place, looking around the room, taking in every little detail if it's not his common room. If it is the Gryffindor common room then he’s staring up at the girl’s staircase, waiting for you to come down.
When you see him you blush
“Si-Sirius, what are you doing here?”
Immediately you become more aware of your appearance, fixing your hair and straightening out your skirt.
“I just wanted to apologize (Y/N) we didn’t mean for that prank to backfire onto you, we’d never do that to you, it was meant for Snivileus-”
“Severus”
“Yeah sure, whatever. What’s important is that you know that I didn’t mean for that to hurt you, I’m sure the other boys will apologize too I just wanted to tell you that I’m sorry”
Does Sirius Black look… nervous?
“It’s fine Black, really I was just having a bad day.”
He doesn’t know why but your usage of his last name is like a knife to the chest, why wasn’t he just Sirius?
Then he remembered, because he’d barely spoken to you in the past 2 years
“I’d like to make it up to you though.”
You turn him down, telling him that that’s not necessary, you’re fine
But he’s not having it, so the next day when you sit down for breakfast you find yourself surrounded by not only Sirius but all of them
They’re acting like this is completely normal but you’re lost
What the hell are they doing?
“Making it up to you of course”
Suddenly they’re everywhere, he’s everywhere
The others were already friendly with you so its not as much of a difference
But all of a sudden Sirius Black is everywhere
Eating meals with you until you relent and come sit with him and the other Marauders at their spot at the Gryffindor table
Suddenly he’s hefting the bag off your shoulder and slinging it around his
The year seems to fly by with him at your side
Sneaking you guys food from the kitchens
They show you the invisibility cloak
Pitching the idea of the Marauders map
And all of a sudden it’s the end of your 3rd year and the care free, witty Sirius you’ve come to know over the past year had morphed into someone far more reminiscent of that scared little boy you first met on the Hogwarts Express
The night before the last day of the term you find yourself alone with Sirius in the Gryffindor common room
You ask him if he’s alright, the past few days he hasn’t been acting like himself
He doesn’t have the energy to try and lie to you anymore, he lets it all out, he tells you about all the backlash since he was sorted
He tells you about Regulus
And how they don’t even talk anymore, “I can’t talk to him (Y/N), I want to but if our mother knows that he associates with me then he’ll be punished, and punishments in the Black house aren’t getting grounded they’re, unforgivable”
You gasp at the implication and reach out to touch his shoulder, but then you’re thrown back to the train and remember how uncomfortable it seemed to make him
But it’s too late, by the time you realize your hand is already on his shoulder
You start to apologize and pull it back but his hand wraps around your wrist which brings your eyes to his
They’re brimming with tears
“Don’t leave”
You pull him into your arms, raking your fingers through his hair, whispering sweet nothings into his ear
Explaining that you just didn’t want to make him uncomfortable
He tells you it's fine, he likes it when you touch him
You two sit there in silence until you think Sirius had calmed down
You tell him you’ll write to him every day
He tells you that you don’t have to do that
You still insist that you will
You two sit there for Godric knows how long but eventually you yawn and that alerts Sirius to how late it's gotten
Tells you he’s sorry that he’s kept you up so late
You tell him it’s fine, it was worth it to make sure he was okay
He blushes but its too dark for you to be able to tell
He walks you to the staircase even though it’s literally 5 feet away
“Good night Sirius”
“Good night (Y/N)”
The next day on the train back to King’s Cross you purposefully sit next to Sirius so you can keep a hand on his arm the entire time
It’s so subtle but doesn’t go unnoticed by the other Marauders
Though they decide not to mention it, he’s having a hard enough day as it is
You hate watching him trudge over to his parents when you arrive at the station, you and James exchange an understanding look.
You both care about him so much, watching him be this wretched physically hurts you
As soon as you get home you sit down and write him a letter
He told you that he probably wouldn’t be able to respond to most of your letter
And that’s fine, but every now and then you get one back
And your heart soars
You count down the days until September 1st, when you finally get to see him again
When you’ll know for certain that he’s okay
You nearly have a heart attack when you can’t find him on platform 9 ¾, but he was just already on the train with Remus and Peter, waiting for you and James to show up
As soon as you can you ask him how he is
He’s doing better than he usually is after an entire summer with Walburga and company
He thanks you profusely for the letters
You tell him not to sweat it
You’re just glad you could help
Once you know he’s okay you allow yourself to relax a little and that’s when you notice that he’s grown up quite a bit since June
His shoulders continue to broaden, his hair is longer, but he looks thin, too thin
And you want to hug him again, but you stop yourself
The sexual tension between the two of you 4th year is unbearable
And borderline uncomfortable
Poor Peter doesn’t know what to do with himself
You write to him again every single day over the winter holidays when he’s forced home to his wretched blood family
When you’re both back at Hogwarts things are even weirder than they were before
Sirius clams up every time you get near him and goes vermillion in the face
You’re sitting in the library the second Monday of the term when he approaches you
“What do you want, Sirius?” You ask without lifting your head
“You sound frustrated.”
“I am Sirius! You’ve been acting weird for a week and I’m sick of it. What do you want?”
He just sort of stands there looking at you, because he didn’t expect you to yell at him.
He’s not sure if he’s ever heard you raise your voice in his entire life.
“I should leave”
“Just tell me what it is Sirius!”
Everyone is looking at you
“This was a bad idea!”
“What is it!”
“I like you!”
This wasn’t how he imagined telling you how he felt about you
Yelling it in the library
Which a bunch of 2nd years gawking
“You what?”
He suggests you guys leave the library for somewhere more private
You agree, and he takes you down to a tree by the Black Lake
When he first told you he liked you in the library you couldn’t believe it, this boy, whom you’ve harbored a crush for for literal years, likes you too
And this isn’t just any boy, this is Sirius Black
And that’s when you remember, shit, this is Sirius Black
“This isn’t a prank or something is it?”
He starts denying it before you can even finish your sentence, it stings a little that you would think that but he understands why.
When you tell him that you return his feelings his his  face breaks out into a smile and he lifts you into his arms and spins you around
“Really?”
“Yes really, now put me down please”
He sets you down but he pulls you so close to his body you can almost feel his pulse thrumming through his body
He asks to kiss you and you let him
From that day forward Sirius always has an arm around your shoulders or around your waist
He likes to pull you into his side so he can whisper things into your ear
He likes it when you perch yourself a top his thigh when he sits down
He also likes you sitting in between his legs
And he likes to sit in between yours too so he can smooth his hands up and down your calves
As you get more comfortable with touching each other, he’ll like to slink down so that his head is right in between your thighs so he can just turn his head and kiss them
Having his hands on you reminds him that you’re there, and if you’re there with him then everything is going to be fine
He’s going to get through that History of Magic Lesson
He’s going to finish that Potions essay
One day James might finally stop talking about Evans
He’s not going to bite Snape’s head off
Everything is going to be just fine
He takes you on dates to the Black Lake, you guys like to sit on the dock and dip your toes in the water, especially when it's warm and sunny out
Sirius will slip off his shirt so he can tan a bit and you’ll set your head on his chest, with your toes brushing up against the water
By the time the two of you finally got together you’d already spent multiple nights in the Marauders dorm room
But you usually slept with Remus in his bed because his was the cleanest
But now that your Sirius’ he sleeps with your head tucked under his chin, your body pulled flush against his chest, his arms have an iron grip on you, you couldn’t get out of bed even if you wanted to.
Waking up with him when he’s had a nightmare and the two of you lie there, chests pressed together, fingers tangled with each other’s, whispering about whatever you can think of
When he can’t sleep he’ll lay his head on your chest and listen to the beating of your heart to calm him down
He loves to do this with your shirt off, not in a sexual way he’s just like a baby and skin to skin contact is good for him
It centers him
He really likes sneaking into the astronomy tower with you at night to look at the stars
You murmur into each other’s ears about everything ranging from the your purpose in the cosmos to the color you should paint your nails next, he always votes red and gold, no matter your house
Painting your nails the colors of your house in spite of him if you’re not in Gryffindor
He volunteers to paint your nails once and does them in red and gold
One year for his birthday you give him a bunch of old muggle magazines your parent/guardian sent you when you wrote requesting them
The two of you lay on your stomachs, elbows bent, legs tangling with each other in the air as you skim through them
You point out the different muggle contraptions and what they do and how to use them
When you get to a mechanic magazine you have to explain to an overly excited Sirius what a motorcycle is
He becomes absolutely enamored with them and begs you for more magazines and reading materials on them
For Christmas that year you get him a miniature motorcycle that you charm to fly around his dorm room.
If you’re on your house’s Quidditch team that idiot is there every single one of your games, decked head to toe in your house colors
He also frequents your practices bringing you water and food for when you’re done
Sirius can get pretty jealous
He’s always been insecure in himself so seeing other people get to friendly with you just hits all of his buttons
He never takes it out on you, because he knows how it feels to be the object of misplaced anger
Instead Sirius will come up behind you when you’re talking to them and loop him arms around your waist, pulling you close to him
Or if you’re sitting down he’ll put his hand on your thigh
He doesn’t go overboard, it's not like if you’re talking to someone he’s going to challenge them to a duel
He just needs everyone to know that you’re his
And he doesn’t share
Letting you do his makeup once after you begged him and now he’s the one who’ll beg you
“Please Princess”
He looks so hot in eyeliner
Like no one has the right to be that good looking
And the mother fucker knows he looks good
You and James plan extravagant gifts and parties for his birthday every year because no one on this planet loves Sirius Black more than the two of you and you’re dedicated to making up for so many lost years
You and Remus bake him a cake every year and he loves blowing out all of the candles, he insists their quantity matches his age, none of that cop out bull shit where its just candles in the shape of numbers
No
He wants to blow out all of them
Your first birthday together Sirius has no clue what to get you, because it’s not like previous years, you’re together now so this gift has to be special, it has to be perfect
He consults everyone he can think of
Lily
James
Remus
Your dorm mates
Hell, he even writes to your family asking what he should get you
In the end they all only make it worse because he has all of these wonderful ideas and can’t choose because what if he chooses wrong and you would have preferred something else instead
So he gets you everything he can think of
You told him 3 weeks ago how you wanted to try a new quill, he’s bought you 7 different types to try out
He can’t decide whether you’d be prettier in rubies, emeralds, or diamonds so he buys you each
You wish you could say that it lets up as years pass
And it does
But only slightly
When his parents kick him out of the house James floos you instantly, tells you its Sirius and that he’s going to be fine, but he needs you
When you get to the Potter’s he’s bloody and bruised and looks like Hell
You have to stop yourself from sobbing at the sight of him
No one gets to hurt Sirius that way
Absolutely no one
When he sees you he starts crying and opens his arms for you to come to him
You help bandage him up and wipe away the dried blood
Once he’s clean and in new clothes you take his face in your hands and press your foreheads together
“I love you Siri, I love you to the moon and back.”
That’s the first time either of you have said “I love you” to the other
He starts sobbing
You pull him into your arms with his head on your chest and you pet him hair, telling him how much you love him and that he’s safe, you’re never going to let anyone touch him ever again
James comes into his room that night, neither of you are asleep, Sirius is still crying only now silently and less violently into your top
Wordlessly James slips into Sirius’ bed on the other side of him and both of you hold him all night long, telling him that he’s safe and that he’s loved, and that he never has to see his mother ever again
That he has a family right there and neither of you will ever make him feel like this
You spend the rest of the summer at the Potter’s
You and James were already good friends but you spend the rest of the holidays bonding over your love and protectiveness of Sirius
Sometimes he jokes that his girlfriend is trying to steal his best friend, but he really doesn’t mind
He loves it actually
The love and protectiveness you feel for Sirius goes both ways
He will not hesitate to kick someone’s ass for you
He often forgets that he’s a wizard at these moments and throws a punch instead of a hex
Cleaning him up after he gets into a fight and scolding him for not thinking, a professor could’ve seen him, he could still get in trouble
When you graduate Hogwarts together the Potter’s come for both him and James
He cries when they congratulate him and tell him that they’re proud of him
Your family also tells him how proud they are of him and he hugs every single person there
You guys move in together, you live a 5 minute walk from James and Lily
He doesn’t wait 2 months before he’s proposing to you
You accept of course
Engagement sex
The man was virile when you were still at Hogwarts but when you first move in together he insists you christen every single room in the house
He loves to make you scream out his name as he overstimulates you
He’s not as hard of a dom as Remus but he’s meaner, he doesn’t just mock you
He degrades you (as long as you’re comfortable with it)
He calls you every dirty name in the book
He loves to put you in barely there lingerie and make you touch yourself as he watches
Will mock you while you do it
“What puppy, your fingers aren’t making you feel good enough? Course they’re not, you’re a desperate little thing aren’t you? Need my cock in order to stretch you, make you feel good. Look at how small your fingers are, how are they supposed to do anything?”
He loves to punish you
To the point where he’ll set expectations that are impossible for you to meet so he can punish you for them
You’re both very open with what you do and do not like and try experimenting a lot
He is so kinky
Loves to edge you and watch you squirm in his grasp
Won’t let you cum until you’ve begged long enough
He loves ruining your orgasms, especially as punishment after you’ve broken one of his rules, but sometimes he does it just to be mean
He has very talented fingers and can make you cum in a matter of minutes if he wants to
Loves eating out, your little whimpers and whines make him want to just destroy you
Enjoys watching your cunt clench around nothing
Will laugh at this and smack your clit
Gets you a collar that says “puppy” or “slut” on it
He’ll tug on it with his finger to get you to look at him
Back to the engagement sex, as soon as you say yes he is on you
You jerk him off onto your tits so he can see the ring on your finger while your hand is wrapped around his dick
Breeding kink breeding kink breeding kink
Especially when Harry is born
The minute he sees you holding little baby Harry in your arms he feels the overwhelming urge to take you there
When you get home that night he tells you how gorgeous you looked with Harry and how much he wants to have a little “pup” of his own
“Gonna fill my puppy with my pups”
Makes you lay with your ass in the air once he’s cum inside you to make sure none of it gets wasted
Will plug you full
“How’s that feel puppy? Good?”
He’s always been able to get you to subspace but now its like he barely has to try, loves calling you his good girl and telling you how well you did for him
You guys don’t get pregnant immediately, which Sirius does not take well
In his mind there’s absolutely no way that you’re the problem
It must be him
He sees his inability to impregnate you as his first failure as a father
Gets really sad
You tell him how much you love him and that this isn't him failing, it could very well be you who is making it difficult to conceive
You have very soft, passionate sex that night as you ride him
He runs his hands up and down your body as you tell him how good he’s making you feel
Maybe it was that night, perhaps it was a different one but a month and a half later the Healer at St. Mungos tells you you’re pregnant
He’s ecstatic
Sirius literally can’t stop smiling
Not that he wants to
But his face almost hurts from how much he’s grinning
Sirius is the best person to have with your when you’re pregnant
He’s always making sure you’re comfortable and that you have everything you need
He’ll try out all your weird pregnancy cravings with you
Especially if you’re feeling a little shy about asking for weird combinations
He loves kissing your belly
He’ll sing French lullabies to it as he moves his hands in circles on your skin
Man never slows down as you progress through your pregnancy, watching you swell just makes him fuck you harder
At first the prospect of decorating a whole room for an infant seems mundane to him
But as soon as you and Lily are pulling out the paint swatches and wallpaper samples he gets so excited and loves helping out
He has to have James and Remus come over to help him put together the crib, he just can’t do it
When he learns he gets to buy clothes for his kid he’s so excited
He and James spend hours going through baby clothes and like with everything Sirius has a very strong opinion about this too
“No Prongs, I’m not putting my child in that, I actually like them”
When the Healer tells you you’re having twins he loses his mind
He’s so excited
Twice the clothes to buy
Twice the toys
Twice the cribs and diapers
He’s thrilled
When the baby comes he doesn’t let himself freak out because this isn’t about him
It’s about you and your baby
He holds your hand the entire time and lets you squeeze however hard you’d like to
Kisses your knuckles and tells you how good of a job you’re doing
You’re in labor for 15 hours
And it nearly kills him
Seeing you in so much pain makes him physically unwell
He wishes he could take away all of your pain for you
But he can’t, so he does what he can
Feeding you ice chips
Massaging your back
He read somewhere that orgasming can help speed along labor
So he does what he does best and makes you cum a few times on his fingers
It's possible that that’s what actually worked
It could’ve also been something entirely different, but he will claim it was making you cum, that finally worked
Your son is born first, and as much as Sirius would’ve been happy with whatever sex, his heart swells with pride to know that he just produced the first half-blood heir to the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black
Next is your little girl
He cries when he sees her
She’s so beautiful, and looks just like you
The two of you sit there kissing and doting on your children for hours until you eventually pass out because you just pushed two humans out of your body
Fast forwarding a bit, the first time his daughter, who has him wrapped around her finger, calls him “Dada” his heart swells and he looks over at you but you’re already staring at him, tears in your eyes you whisper to him
“You’re doing a good job”

Hi!! I was wondering if you could do another fic involving jules and coops together? Just like sweet moments between the three? I loved the baby sitting series you did and could not stop thinking about it❤️❤️ Thank you!!
Yeah, of course! I love writing my boy at any opportunity. SW credit goes to @lumosinlove, but the relatives are my ocs!
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Sirius asked under his breath as Remus finally—finally—appeared from the mass of people.
“It’s fine,” Remus said around a forced smile to a middle-aged man across the yard.
Sirius hid his mouth by pretending to look down at the nearest casserole dish. He didn’t even know what was in it; nobody had bothered with labels, and everyone’s dishes were the same basic florals in different colors. “I love you, Re, and I totally get the whole ‘meet the parents’ thing, but this is a bit much if I’m being honest.”
“Honey.” Remus’ shoulder pressed against his own. “I’m sorry you’re not having a good time, but my Aunt Jen would skin me alive if I didn’t bring the man I’m marrying to the family reunion. We can leave tomorrow if you really hate—oh, no.”
“Remus!” a shrill, excited voice called. Sirius felt his fiancé straighten up as a tall, redheaded woman in star-painted jeans hurried across the grass with three other women in tow. She reached up and gave Remus’ cheeks a squish, then leaned in a planted a lipstick-stamped kiss to his forehead. “How are you, my duckling? Was your flight alright? Make sure you stay away from the salt or else your feet will swell.”
“Hi, Aunt Jen,” Remus said, grimacing a little at her rib-crushing hug. “I’m doing well, and our flight was fine. How are you?”
“Peachy keen,” she assured him. Dark brown eyes lasered in on Sirius half a second later and he felt his fight or flight kick in. “And who are you?”
“Aunt Jen, this is—”
“It was rhetorical, honey,” Jen interrupted with a pat to Remus’ arm as she stepped closer to Sirius and immediately hauled him in for a hug. She was as tall as Remus, but broader in the shoulders and hips; he had never felt so engulfed by someone. It was a strangely enjoyable feeling.
“Aren’t you a handsome one?” the shortest of the group cooed, as if she was talking to a particularly small dog in a purse. “Our Remus always knew how to pick them.”
Remus furrowed his brows. “Aunt Lisa, this is the first boyfriend I’ve—”
“But he’s not just a boyfriend!” Jen trilled, giving Sirius’ cheek a pat. “He’s a fiancé, something I learned from your mother. Not from your father—oh, I gave him a talking-to about that—and not from you, duck.”
Sirius bit back a laugh at the nickname and spared a glance to his left, where Remus had gone pink all the way to his ears. “Sorry.”
“Introduce us!” the shortest insisted, taking the other two by the hands as pulling them forward with an eager smile.
“Everyone, this is Sirius Black, my fiancé.” Remus gestured between them, and the four women beamed at him. “Sirius, this is Aunt Jen, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Allison, and Aunt Mary, my dad’s sisters.”
“It’s lovely to meet you,” Sirius said, holding a hand out.
“No need to be so formal,” the brunette grumbled with a teasing grin. “We have heard so much about you from Lyall. After those damned pictures—”
“Allison,” Jen hissed.
“—after the damned pictures,” Allison repeated with a pointed look. “I was about ready to drive up to Gryffindor myself and give that lousy son of a bitch a piece of my mind—”
“Allison!”
“—but Lyall talked me down and I have been waiting to meet you ever since.” She finished with a soft huff and gave his arm a quick squeeze. “Remus is a lucky boy to have you. It’s very exciting to see you in person at last.”
Sirius’ heart gave a happy little ka-thump and he smiled. “I’m glad to be here. Thank you for having me.”
“He is so polite,” Lisa said to Remus out of the corner of her mouth with a wink and a thumbs-up. “Good choice.”
“You know what I just realized? We haven’t said hello to Jules yet. We’ll see you in a few, yeah?” Without waiting for an official answer, Remus wrapped an arm around Sirius’ waist and practically carried him away from the table. Once they were out of earshot—and the aunts had busied themselves with one of the younger Lupins—Remus relaxed with a slow exhale. “I am…so sorry.”
“For what?”
“I had no idea they were going to corner you like that. I mean, I did, but I was hoping it wouldn’t be for another few hours. They tend to move in a pack at reunions, like sharks. Or wolves.”
“They’re really sweet.”
“They are,” Remus said grudgingly, though Sirius could read the affection dripping off him like his favorite book. “My dad’s the youngest of five, and I was the first nephew. You can imagine how that went.”
“Baby of the baby?”
“Exactly.”
“Can I ask one thing?” Remus nodded, visibly confused, and Sirius found he couldn’t keep his grin down any longer. “Duckling?”
“I hoped you didn’t hear that,” he groaned as they headed toward the kids’ play area beneath a large oak. “Long story short, it involved five-year-old me, a pond, and a sinus infection that made me sound like a duck when I sneezed.”
“Oh my god,” Sirius laughed, earning himself a light elbow to the ribs. “And the name stuck?”
“Considering she was the one that had to stay with me while my folks were working, she could call me whatever the hell she wanted. Please don’t ask her about it unless you want a thirty-minute TED talk about the ins and outs of my sinuses.”
“She’s a doctor?”
“No, she just overshares.”
“Sirius!”
Sirius looked up and saw a herd of small children racing toward them, led by his favorite person under the age of eighteen; Jules crashed into his legs and squeezed him tight around the waist. “Hey, I missed you!”
Jules propped his chin below Sirius’ sternum and stared up at him with the classic hazel-gold eyes that were far more common than Sirius believed before they arrived in the Lupins’ backyard. “I missed you, too! How’s the team? How’s Harry? Is he still super small or did he do that weird thing that babies do where their legs grow and the rest of them still looks normal? How was your flight? Did you have turbulence?”
Sirius thought for a moment. “Good, also good, growing normally, and yes.”
“Sweet! Come play cornhole with us!” Jules grabbed his hand and dragged him along the grass at the closest thing he could manage to a sprint with Sirius’ added weight—the pre-teen years had lent him gangly legs, though he didn’t seem quite sure how to use them yet. He looked more like a foal than a sixth-grader.
“What the hell is cornhole?” Sirius muttered as the flock of kids ran ahead to grab armfuls of beanbags.
Remus grinned. “Something I’m about to kick your ass at.”
------------------------------------
By the time the sun set, Sirius was exhausted. He had been introduced to dozens of people who looked just enough like Remus to be eerie, as well as plenty who seemed to have been acquired by one Lupin or another over the course of their life. Jules fluctuated between laminating himself to Sirius’ side and disappearing for an hour at a time, only to return more grass-stained and rumpled than ever as he begged Remus to swing him around by the ankles again. His ass had been thoroughly kicked at cornhole and freeze tag; it was a true miracle he hadn’t already passed out into a food coma. For all of his earlier griping, Sirius couldn’t think of a time in recent months when he had been more content.
“You’re a brave soul,” Remus remarked as they sat in the grass together and watched the fireflies wake. Though it was a warm night, it seemed the citronella candles littering the tables were doing their job of chasing off mosquitoes.
Sirius leaned his head on Remus’ shoulder. He smelled like grass and summertime and sunbaked warmth. “Am I?”
“Mhmm. I’m sure most people would have run screaming by now.”
“I like your family.”
A beat of silence passed; Remus rested his temple against the top of Sirius’ head. “I’m really glad to hear that. They’re weird and loud, but I love them.”
“And I love you.”
“Are you saying I’m weird and loud?”
“On occasion.”
“Asshole,” Remus laughed, giving him a nudge that hardly qualified as more than a gentle sway.
“Language, there are eight million kids around.”
“They’re busy.”
Sirius watched as small group run by in a wave of giggles, all clutching mason jars of fireflies with their names written on masking tape. “Thank you again for asking me to come with you.”
“Like I said, Aunt Jen would—”
“Remus.” He fell quiet. Sirius didn’t remember the last time he said Remus’ full name aloud. “Your family loves you so much. They’re everything I ever wanted growing up, and it means the world that you wanted to share them with me. All they want is to see you happy. It was amazing to finally meet them.”
“They really, really love you,” Remus said softly, his voice a little thick. “I had about twenty people tell me how wonderful you are. They all thanked me for bringing you, and not a single one mentioned the celebrity thing. Even my Uncle Jay didn’t say a word about hockey.”
“He was the one in the jersey?”
“I’ve known him for my entire life and I’ve never seen him without one.”
“Huh.” Sirius tucked his face closer to Remus’ neck and let the sound of the bullfrogs in a distant marsh lull him. “What time is it?”
“Almost eleven. The adults will be up for a while, but the kids will start crashing soon.”
Footsteps on the cool grass rustled to their right and Sirius looked up. “Who wants pie?” Aunt Allison singsonged, breaking their quiet bubble with paper plates and utensils. “This one is blackberry, but we have peach, pumpkin, and a few others on the table if you’re still hungry.”
“Just a small piece, please,” Sirius said.
Allison paused and cocked her head, then burst out laughing. “Oh, you’re funny!”
“I am?”
“Don’t fight it,” Remus whispered.
“You are a growing boy,” Allison said as she cut a thick slice and plonked it onto his plate. “And there’s no such thing as too much pie.”
I’m 26, Sirius wanted to say, though he held it in. “Just a small one for me, as well,” Remus said.
“Ha!” Allison snorted. “You’re already too skinny. Eat your pie or you’ll end up a string bean like your father. The NHL might have given you muscle, but it’s useless if you don’t enjoy some of your favorite aunt’s—”
“—woah, hey now—”
“—pie once in a while.” Allison kissed the tops of their heads once both plates were secure and bowing in the middle. “I’m going to make sure the kids aren’t poking around in the river again. Sleep well, you two.”
Sirius stared down at his plate as she wandered away. “I’m honestly going to die if I eat this.”
“Yeah, please don’t make yourself sick on pie. You really don’t have to eat all of that. The aunts and uncles are convinced that none of us are eating properly once we turn eighteen.”
“Really?”
“I wish I was kidding. You’re going to sleep so well tonight, though.”
As if on cue, Sirius stifled a yawn with the back of his hand and cuddled under Remus’ arm again. A familiar shadow bounded over not two seconds later and he barely held down a groan. “Hey, can I join you?”
Remus shrugged. “ ‘course.”
“Sweet.” Jules settled himself across their laps, staring at the sky with his head pillowed on Sirius’ thigh. “Did you have fun? I’m really glad you could come.”
“I had a great time,” Sirius answered honestly. Now please move on so I can take a nap.
“Mom and dad and me got here yesterday, and Aunt Jen kept checking the door for you guys even though she knew you weren’t coming until today. She was worried you wouldn’t like us, I think.”
“That was never an option, Jules.”
“Yeah, I know.” A devilish grin flickered over his face. “Remus is the weirdest of all of us, and if you want to marry him—”
“Get off,” Remus grumbled, shoving Jules’ legs onto the picnic blanket. “You know, you were a lot nicer before you turned eleven. Can I return you and get a new one? I have the receipt somewhere.”
“Nope.”
“That’s all a birth certificate is, right?” Sirius raised his eyebrows. “If you bring it back in good condition, I hear they give you a ten percent discount.”
Jules scowled. “That’s so not true.”
“How do you think I got Regulus?”
“Isn’t it past your bedtime?” Remus asked with a pointed look. “Run along, problem child.”
“Of the two of us, I’m the least problematic.” Despite his words, Jules clambered to his feet and dusted his hands off over Remus’ head. “I’m not the one that got a secret boyfriend and got engaged in a year. I’m so easy. Mom and dad want two of me.”
“Keep telling yourself that,” Remus sighed as he stretched out on the blanket. “They had a second kid because they wanted two of me.”
“You’re adopted.”
Remus cracked one eye open in disbelief. “No, I’m not.”
“How do you know?”
“Because—y’know what, go to bed. Or go find the stampede, I think they’re by the river.”
Sirius whistled lowly as Jules scampered off again. “That was impressive. Isn’t your aunt over there?”
“Yep.”
Realization clicked into place. “She’s going to make him go to bed.”
“Yep.”
“You’re brilliant.”
Remus smiled without opening his eyes, and tugged Sirius down by the sleeve to lay next to him. “You’re just figuring that out now?”
The stars were brighter than anywhere Sirius had ever seen; for a moment, he was struck speechless by the endless rivers of sparkling white overhead. He stared until his eyes burned from dryness, then put his head on Remus’ chest and kept on looking. There was no way he could tear his gaze from it. A few shooting stars streaked across the clear sky and he felt his heart skip a beat in pure amazement when he realized there was nothing else he would wish for in that moment. He could listen to Remus’ heartbeat and the sound of his new family talking against a backdrop of the night, relishing in a full belly and cool wind, and simply stay there for as long as he liked.

love ur blog, btw this is a request for draco malfoy: can you make it where the reader loves coffee and draco also apparently is in love with it and they meet at some coffee shop and yeah u can continue how u like it
Hi lovely! Thank you for your kind words and your request. 💕
As a caffeine dependent human, writing this was so much fun. I hope you like it. X
Same Ideas. Varying Interpretations (Draco Malfoy x Reader)
Word count: 1517
Coffee shop AU
Warnings: None just excessive mentions of coffee and soft!Draco pining for the reader.
Tumblr media
Draco Malfoy was never really a morning person.
The only reason he even dragged himself out of bed was the want for a decent sized cup of coffee from the coffee shop down the street.
Even though he was not a morning person, he was definitely becoming a weekend person.
Weekends meant he could wake up late, maybe prolong his otherwise quick shower.
To top it all off, that he wouldn’t even have to order his coffee to go!
In fact, he would get to sit on one of those infuriating little tables in the far corner that never stopped wobbling and look at you and whatever it is that you were drinking that day.
Sometimes you’d have a tall glass filled to the brim with iced coffee next to you. On other times, you’d be hugging a mug and absently licking whipped cream off your lips—making his heart palpitate in the process.
But within the unpredictability of your coffee order and the color of the dresses that you wore, two things remained constant.
One, you seemed to really like the buttered croissant they served.
Two, he loved watching you nibble into it as you flipped through the pages of your book.
And so, on a strangely sunny Saturday morning, Draco decided to stop beating around the bush and he finally managed to ask the lady at the counter to have a croissant delivered to your table.
“Oh. I didn’t order any today.” You said politely and shook your head when you saw the pastry.
“Courtesy of one of our regular patrons.” The server smiled before leaving you with a golden brown and perfectly curvaceous croissant.
Draco observed the whole interaction from afar—taking long slow sips of coffee as dark as his black suit.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want you to know it was him. He just wasn’t sure how you’d feel about a stranger buying you a croissant.
~~~~~~
The very next Saturday, Draco took his regular seat at the coffee shop and opened the daily prophet in front of him.
Your table remained empty as he scanned the paper—pretending like your absence didn’t bother him.
I drove her away.
That’s the only explanation.
Why is she not here?
Draco was so busy hyperventilating all alone that he almost didn’t notice a server bring what looked like a buttered croissant on his table.
He put his paper down for a second and arched a brow at the server who simply shrugged as he nodded towards the door.
You were just exiting the coffee shop with a to-go cup in your hands—clad in a lilac colored blouse that somehow made the freshly cut tulips wrapped in paper you had tucked under your arms look even more vibrant.
When Draco took notice of the to-go cup in your hand, he quickly paid for his coffee and followed you out.
“How did you know it was me?” He called out making him instantly regret this decision when you whirled around to face him.
To his utter surprise, you flashed him a small smile.
“Black coffee, no sugar or creamer.” You said. “Every weekend, I see you drink the same hot beverage mr. regular patron. It probably tastes horrible by the way.”
“It absolutely does not.” He retorted as you both started to walk down the cobblestone. “I don’t understand why you’d choose to ruin a drink that is perfectly good on its own.”
And both of you kept talking and talking as he walked you all the way home.
“It was nice talking to you.” You said as you stepped onto your front porch step.
“Likewise y/n.” Draco said as he put his hands in his pockets and started to turn away.
Throughout your walk, he’d wanted to ask if you’d like to have dinner with him sometime but the words refused to leave his lips partly due to his fear of rejection.
Just as he was walking away, he heard you call out his name.
“Draco. Wait.”
“Yes?”
“Dinner tomorrow? Seven-ish? No pressure.” You asked.
Draco didn’t know what you meant by seven-ish—if it meant after or before seven. What he did know was that he was going to be there early anyway.
Just to be sure.
~~~~~~~~~
When Draco saw you in your deep red dress that night, he quickly decided then and there that he’d never look at the color the same way ever again.
He was sure that he’d forever associate the color with your stunning little number for the rest of eternity.
And to his absolute and utter delight, the date went perfectly well.
It was strange how things flowed so naturally with you that it felt almost effortless.
So much so that both of you were the very last people that left the restaurant that night. And being the caffeine addicts that you both were, both of you found yourselfs craving a cup of coffee.
“I don’t think there’s anything open at this ungodly hour of the night Draco.” You said sadly as you walked with him down the sidewalk—moonlight casting terribly tall shadows of the two of you on the ground.
The tip of your fingers lightly brushed with his as if on accident and he seized this opportunity to intertwine your fingers with his.
He fought the smile tugging at his lips when he felt you hold his hands tight before finally saying.
“I know a place.”
~~~~~~~~~~~
You let him take the lead as you both ran along the sidewalks giggling like children towards wherever he was taking you.
From one of the houses along the way, an elderly man poked his head outside of his window and yelled at you both for causing a ruckus at two-thirty in the morning.
“Shhhhhhh…” Draco whispered, suppressing a chuckle as you both hid inside an alcove as placed his hands over your mouth.
His face was so terribly close to yours and you felt tingly all over your body when you looked into his shiny grey eyes.
He had the kind of eyes that could convince you to do just about anything with one simple look.
Terrifying yet so so comforting.
When the threat of being yelled at by the old man cleared, he led you all the way to a small 24/7 diner situated at the far end of the road.
The lady at the counter gave him a smile like he visited the place all the time.
“Are you a regular patron over here too?” You asked out of curiosity the lady poured you both a cup of coffee.
“I come here when I can’t sleep.” He said, taking a gulp of his coffee. “No one really comes here at this time of the night and the coffee isn’t half bad.”
You nodded and took a big sip from your own cup observing how his skin glowed a shade of bright pink from the neon sign on the window.
It felt good with him.
Even the black coffee that you were drinking felt nice and soothing.
Just when you thought the night couldn’t get any better, a slow song started to play on the radio at the diner. It didn’t even bother you that the song kept cutting off due to the static.
“This is such a lovely song.” You told him, making a crooked smile form on his face.
“Care to dance with me then?” He asked.
“Here? ”
“Yes here.”
You opened your mouth to object but he was already pulling you up—gently swaying you to the music.
The lady at the counter shook her head and went towards the back of the diner leaving you both to it.
With his arms around your waist and your head resting on his chest, your bodies moved with the music.
From where your head was resting, you could easily hear the wild thumping of his heart and you wondered if he could hear yours.
You slowly tilted your head upwards to look at him and he lovingly tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ears.
As his face drew in closer and closer, you closed your eyes and met him halfway.
His lips tasted like caffeine.
They woke you up, gave you a rush and had something addictive about them.
He kissed you so tenderly—his lips moving slowly in synchronisation with yours.
But somewhere between those soft kisses, you could tell that he was holding back something more ravenous and intense.
It only made you want to keep kissing him.
That night and the nights to come.
 ~~~~~~some months later~~~~~~~
“Not this again.” Your boyfriend shook his head as he took a sip from his mug before taking a bite from YOUR croissant.
“Well forgive me for wanting my coffee to actually taste good.” You rolled your eyes at him as you stirred your straw of your iced coffee. You’d asked for two pumps of vanilla syrup to be added to your drink and Draco gagged at the idea.
The way you both took your respective coffees was a perfect way to describe your relationship.
Same ideas.
Varying interpretations.

hi there! i haven’t commented on the new castles chapters yet but wow, amazing and heart wrenching as always. on the topic of castles, i was actually rereading chapter 8 recently and got stuck on tonks telling ginny that she should go back to hogwarts, ride it out another year, that probably nothing much would happen because in a war about blood purity, they wouldn’t hurt any of their precious, pureblood kids. why do you think tonks says this? i always imagined that as an auror and one of the younger order members, tonks would have a pretty good idea of what they were facing. additionally, i always imagined tonks as having quite a good understanding of ginny, but in my opinion ginny’s nature (and her connection to harry) makes it such that it would have been impossible for her to just keep her head down and ride the year out until she turned 17. i’m not sure if that question makes sense but i promise this isn’t a critique or anything, just curiosity! thanks again for the wonderful new chapters!
Hi! Glad you're enjoying!
Yeah, I think it's an interesting question, I did think about what Tonks would say quite a lot, there. The thing about Tonks in that moment is that she's very young, she's pregnant, and Lupin's left. As far as she's concerned, she's keeping the baby, so she's alone, scared, about to be a single mother (which seems to be Very uncommon in their world) to a baby that might or might share Lupin' condition, in the middle of a war. And, I think we've all been there in our early to mid-twenties, when we're trying to "adult." To do the things we think are adult, because we're hoping that will make it all okay. And, I think that's what Tonks is trying to do, here. Like, Tonks looks "cool" to the kids because to them she's a bit edgy, a bit older than them, but she's just 22/23 years old and in the same panic we all are at that age.
I think she's telling Ginny what she thinks adults would tell her, because that's probably what other people have been telling her: "you're having a child, love, you need to mature, fast." But, she doesn't really know how so she just says what she perceives as the "right" thing to say to a 16 year old who's worried about her family, and her boyfriend. She still says it with a twist because she does tell Ginny, basically: "wait until you're 17, then you can do whatever you want" which isn't necessarily what a parent would say, but she's just being super rational and being like: "look, just go to Hogwarts, you don't have a choice." And, I think her telling Ginny they're not going to hurt pureblood kids is her trying to reassure Ginny, reassure herself, reassure everyone. Tonks is a Hufflepuff, don't forget, and Hufflepuffs are kind and take care of people. So, I don't think she really believes whatever she's saying, there, but she just wants to be the kind of person who does.
And, frankly, lastly, I think she might be a bit annoyed at Ginny's panic, too. She wouldn't admit it because she's kind and caring, which is why she tries to help Ginny, but ultimately, I think there's a part of her that's like: I get that you're worried about your boyfriend but you're also 16 and the world is all fucking shite so just deal with it. And, yes, they're sending death eaters to Hogwarts, but they will be everywhere anyway, so, we're all at risk, now. There's a line from a poem I'm thinking about right now that really resonates for this side of Tonks in that moment, I think. It goes "and, I don't care about an emergency landing, that barely qualifies as a crisis from where I'm standing." That poem is written about a woman traveling to get an abortion but I think there's a little bit of that struggle as well with Tonks that's like: I empathise with your situation, but I'm pregnant and alone in the Worst Time Ever so leave me alone, you know? And it's not mean or insensitive, it's just #priorities.
I hope this answers your question ❤️

Deal? - Remus LupinxDaughter!Reader
Tumblr media
Hi! :)
Deal? (Part 1) | Oh, darling... (Part 2) | I’ll be by your side (Part 3)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please note:
1: I don’t own any of the gifs used, nor any already established characters, so credit to the authors and original creators - You have done a phenomenal job :)
2: English is not my native language, as I was born and raised in Sweden. I have, however, studied English for almost a decade, so I don’t think it’ll be a problem, I just thought I’d let you know ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You probably already knew this, but still XD
(Y/N) - Your name
(Y/N/N) - Your nickname
(Y/H/L) - Your hair length
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I swear, my next story won’t be about Umbridge XD
Word count: ≈ 2300
Warnings: Umbridge, angst, slight swearing
Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I do not wish to criticise the ways of the school, however you have been exposed to some rather irresponsible wizards in this class, very irresponsible indeed - not to mention” the toadlike professor threw a dark glance at a sandy haired student and smirked evilly, “extremely dangerous half breeds”.
The student in question raised her hand angrily, and glared at Professor Umbridge. “Yes?” the teacher smiled sweetly, “miss… Lupin, am I correct?”
“Yes, (Y/N)!” she began, “but that’s besides the point. Look, I know what you’re doing, but Professor Lupin was the best DADA teacher we’ve ever had, and I’d be more than happy to bet everything I own on that being quite a common opinion in this classroom!”
Most of her fellow classmates nodded furiously, and the young girl turned her head towards her professor, who immediately cleared her throat and declared: “Well, I’m afraid simply being a beloved teacher doesn’t really matter, dear.  Werewolves are still extremely dangerous creatures. They are beasts that are undeserving of respect and that should not be allowed to be part of our fine wizard community. They are uncontrollable, and highly likely to injure or possibly kill young witches and wizards, including their own children.”
She flashed a cruel, yet pleased, smirk as (Y/N) furiously stood up, despite Hermione desperately trying to force her down.
“You have NO IDEA what you’re talking about!?” she whispered angrily, her nails digging into her palms as her fists clenched. “You have probably never even met one of these so called ‘half breeds’, have you? No, you were most likely just told some bizarre stories containing more lies and made up facts than truths, and decided to put that worthless ‘knowledge’ - if you can even call it that - to use by spreading rumors and destroying the lives of innocent people.”
Umbridge looked frantic, and was about to speak up, but (Y/N) got there first. “I despise people who look down on others. People who claim to be better than everyone else. People like you. You certainly don’t deserve respect!”
She took a deep breath, and was about to continue when Umbridge’s shrill voice forced her to stay quiet. “That’s quite enough! Detention, miss Lupin. The rest of the week, five fifteen, don’t be late”.
***
A few hours later, (Y/N) made her way back to Umbridge’s office. She knew her friends had wanted to talk to her, but she had done her absolute best to avoid them all afternoon. She simply didn’t feel like explaining to them why she had done what she did. She’d gladly do it again though. Her father was the kindest, wisest, most incredible person she had ever met. He had done everything in his power to give her a good childhood, and no one had the right to insult him. She’d defend him to her last breath if that’s what it would come down to.
She knocked on the door carefully, and pushed it open when she heard a shrill, terrifying voice sing a sweet “come in”.
“Oh, miss Lupin, almost late I see!” she said arrogantly. (Y/N) didn’t have time to answer before her teacher continued. “Sit down.”
***
The detentions went on for another four days before Umbridge told her she didn’t have to come back the following evening, but that she better hold her tongue unless she longed for more. (Y/N) tried to keep that in mind, but still lost her cool a few more times before the end of the semester. However, the Christmas holidays were approaching, and though her red, swollen hand caused her to worry slightly, the idea of seeing her dad and godfather caused her enough joy to tip her mood over to “mainly happy”.
She stepped off the train with her friends, and immediately spotted her father on the platform.
“Dad!!” she shouted, and threw her scratched arms around his constantly scarred torso. “Merlin, I’ve missed you so much”. She buried her head in his shoulder, simply enjoying the feeling of love and safety that he somehow instantly gave off.
“Hello, darling!” he said gently, returning the bone-crushing hug. “I missed you too, believe me…”
(Y/N) wanted to stay like that forever, but eventually let go as she intended to at least try to keep her… problems… hidden. She had never really been able to keep secrets from her dad, and therefore didn’t want to do anything he would consider “out of the ordinary”. If she did, he’d figure it out, or persuade her to tell him everything within minutes, and she knew he’d feel guilty if he realized what she had done for him. She understood perfectly well that the scars on her hand were deep enough to be visible for the rest of her life, and that nothing she would say could convince Remus Lupin that it was not his fault. She was left with one option: He could not, under any circumstances, know. Ever.
They carried her trunk together, and walked a few feet behind the rest of the gang.
“So?”, her father inquired, “How are things? You all doing okay?”
“I suppose”, she answered, “Our new DADA teacher is quite a daft prick though.”
“(Y/N/N)!”, he muttered sternly, casually trying to hide a smile, “Are you sure that’s the right word? Sounds rather rough, doesn’t it?”
The witch shrugged. “No, I think it fits rather nicely. It’s almost as if she’s trying her very best to prevent us from learning anything helpful…”
“That’s… well, that doesn’t sound very promising, does it?”
“No, hence the slightly offensive description… But enough about her, how are you? Had any company while I was gone?”
The older wizard smiled, easily noticing the tone of his daughter’s voice switch into a far more joyful, energetic one - One he knew and loved!
“Oh yes, I’ve spent quite a bit of time at headquarters, and Sirius essentially isn’t allowed anywhere else, so we’ve done a lot of catching up. There is, believe it or not, a lot to talk about after 12 years without seeing each other, so it’s been very nice.” He turned to her, smiled even broader and added a quick “But I’ve still missed you.”, before quickening his pace to catch up with the others.
***
Later that night, (Y/N), Remus, Harry and Sirius were sat in the living room of number 12 Grimmauld Place. Harry and Sirius were playing catch with an old snitch they had found in the house, lazily throwing it back and forth. (Y/N) lay on a sofa, a thick leather bound book tightly clutched in her hands and her head resting on her fathers lap. He was deeply invested in A Guide to Medieval Sorcery, and father and daughter were simply enjoying a nice, calm evening.
All of a sudden, Sirius grabbed the snitch, sat up straight and reached out towards his godson.
“Harry, what’s that on your hand?”
The dark haired boy pulled the sleeves of his jumper further down and mumbled a quiet “nothing”.
“Sure, let me see then”
“No, it’s fine, don’t worry abo…”
Harry didn’t get the chance to finish his sentence, as Sirius had risen from his seat and forcefully grabbed his left hand. The slightly faded “I must not tell lies” was still readable, and Harry winced as the look on his godfather’s face went from composed to furious in a matter of seconds.
“Who?”
“Sirius, I…”
“WHO?!”
By this time, both Remus and (Y/N) had put their books down, and were carefully observing the “argument”.
“It’s our new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, Umbridge. She’s quite generous when it comes to giving detentions. But mine’s really not that bad now. It barely hurts anymore…”
“That’s totally barbaric!? Moony, we have to…”
“Harry”, Remus interrupted his old friend with a worried look on his face, “What do you mean by ‘quite generous’?”
His heart practically skipped a beat when he felt his daughter shift uncomfortably, however it was Harry who answered.
“‘m quite sure half the Gryffindors have been to her office at least once by now. Even when you’re not really doing anything wrong, she’ll make up a ‘reasonable’ excuse…”
As Harry spoke, (Y/N) had unconsciously been pulling the sleeves of her jumper closer to her fingertips. Remus obviously noticed and made eye contact with Harry, nodding discreetly towards his daughter as if to ask if she too had… well… yeah? Harry closed his eyes, knowing full well how his friend wanted to hide her scars from her dad. It had taken hours of convincing before she had even let him, Ron and Hermione see, and he understood why she didn’t want Lupin to know. He did, however, not like the idea of lying to his former professor, and nodded slightly.
Remus closed his eyes looking simultaneously sad and angered, sat up straight and muttered “(Y/N/N)?”
The young witch took a deep breath and was about to move away from her dad, but he was faster and quickly grabbed her hand. He was very gentle, but she flinched anyways, as her last detention had taken place only a week prior.
“(Y/N/N)”, he repeated, “show me”
“Dad”, she mumbled quietly, “‘tis fine, don’t worry”
“(Y/N)!” His voice sounded far sterner now, “I’m serious. C’mere”
“No, I don’t want…”
“It’s not a question of whether or not you want to, Love”, Sirius explained before his friend could think of a response. “Show your dad.”
“But…”
“(Y/N/N)”, Harry mumbled, “Just… just do it”
“No! I can handle it! Stop making it sound like I’m too weak to do so!”
She felt a tear escape her eye, and stood up to leave the room when Remus waved his wand and locked the door.
Taking yet another deep breath, his daughter turned around, made her way across the room, pulled her left sleeve up and slammed her scarred hand down on the table for the other three to see.
“There! You happy now?!”
A flood of tears were streaming down her face, as her dad, godfather and best friend leant closer and read seven deep-red, awful, heart wrenching words:
***
I must not defend filthy half breeds
***
Remus put his head in his hands and stood up, while Sirius moved closer to his goddaughter and pulled her into a tight hug. Harry joined the embrace and comfortingly rubbed her back.
“why? Why (Y/N/N)?”, her father whispered quietly, his voice barely audible.
“I… I couldn’t…She… sorry…”
The usually calm, collected girl was completely lost for words. Shaking. She had no clue what to say, all she knew was that she had to let her dad know that she was sorry. Sorry for making him feel guilty. Sorry for causing him so much pain. Sorry for not being strong enough.
She walked over to him and noticed heavy, wet tears on his face too. Carefully she wrapped her arms around him, and together they sank down onto the cold floor. They sat there for what felt like hours before Remus finally spoke up, repeating his previous question.
“Why, darling?”
She met his sad gaze and collected her thoughts before quietly whispering “She keeps saying horrible things - pure lies - and she’s enjoying it. She’s throwing insults my way every chance she gets. If I don’t stand up and fight, everyone will think she’s right, and she’s not. Nothing will ever change unless someone works for it, and as soon as that someone backs down, they’ve lost. I’m not having that.”
He looks back at her, his eyes full of pride. “What did I ever do to deserve you?”
“You mean besides being the most phenomenal dad imaginable?”
He chuckled softly, ruffled her (Y/H/L) hair and held his hand out. (Y/N) slowly placed her hand on her father’s and shifted her gaze towards the floor as he examined the neatly written letters. With a worried expression on his face, he grabbed his wand and moved it back and forth over the scars while quietly muttering a few carefully chosen words. The pain immediately became more endurable, and after putting his wand away the older wizard grabbed his daughter’s shoulders gently, and looked at her in a sad, yet determined way.
“(Y/N/N), as honourable as your intentions are, please don’t do this for me. I’m not going to tell you to back down, but if you’re going to keep it up, don’t let it…” He paused, trying to find the right words. “I can’t stand the thought of you getting injured because of me. I’m not wo…”
“Yes, you are! Stop saying that! I’ll be a bit more selective, if that’s what you want, but don’t you dare tell me not to fight for you. You are my dad, my only family, and there is not a single person on this planet less deserving of disrespect, insults and hate. Dad, you’re amazing, and I’m not letting her fool people into thinking you’re not.”
After a moment of silence, a quiet, “I still don’t like it…”, escaped his lips.
“I know.” She sighed, “That’s why I originally didn’t plan on telling you.”
(Y/N) was fiddling with her fingers, not quite meeting her fathers warm gaze, when she suddenly sat up and said, “Let’s make a deal? I promise to choose my fights more wisely, and in return, you won’t blame yourself for the consequences of said choices? Sounds fair, doesn’t it?”
Her father sighed, but reluctantly answered, “Fine, as long as you promise me one more thing.”
“Hmm?”
“You won’t hide scars or pain from me ever again, no matter whether it’s physical or mental, okay? You’ll let me know, and let me help, always!”
She held her right hand out, her dad shook it and they shared a smile. This time, a true, pure one that actually reached their identically green eyes.
“Deal!”

“Please make sure your homework is completed and handed in to me at the beginning of tomorrows lesson. You’ve had a week to complete it, so I expect full pile on my desk.” I shouted over the hustle of the students packing away their things.
I hated having the last lesson of the day. No one was focused, they were tired from their other classes, and all they could think about was getting to the Great Hall for dinner; although I was exactly the same, I couldn’t wait for a good meal. Now alone, I started to tidy up my classroom, yawning when I realised how tired I was as well. Luckily, it was the end of the week, and this weekend I was chaperoning the students to Hogsmeade, meaning I could have some retail therapy. I heard the door open, thinking it was a student who had forgotten something, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw my husband waltz in.
“Oh, hello you.” I smiled as I approached him.
“Hello you.” he leaned down to kiss me before glancing around the room.“Need any help before dinner?”
“No, not tonight. I’ve just got to put a few things away in my desk.”
I went back to tidying, making sure I wasn’t coming back to a mess after the weekend, and that everything was in its right place.
He perched on a student desk.“Are you still going to Hogsmeade this weekend?”
“Of course. I can’t wait.”
“Did you want to...did you want to go for a drink?”
“I don’t think we should be drinking whilst looking after the students Remus.”
“We won’t have anything alcoholic. Perhaps even a meal?”
“What if someone sees us?”
“How many students have we seen go into a restaurant on any trip, hm? And if they do, it’s a meal between friends!”
“You know, I don’t think that whole story about us being old friends worked.”
He suddenly looked panicked.“Why? Have the children been saying anything?”
“No. I can just see it in their faces.”
“You’re overthinking this. It’ll be fine. Let me treat you.” a charming smile spread across his face.
I rolled my eyes, giving in.“Alright. But I’ve got to pop round some of the shops first.”
He groaned.“So we’ll have time for a starter then?”
I scoffed a laugh at him, grabbing a nearby scroll to hit him with.“I might be going shopping for you, did you ever think of that? I am a very loving wife after all.”
He chuckled, shielding himself.“Alright, alright!”
“Plus, and as much as it pains me to say this, we’ll be apart for a while. That means students won’t see us together.”
“Unfortunately, you’re right. We haven’t been too careful as of late.”
“Saying that, should we head to dinner?”
I walked out of the classroom first, checking the corridors, and like always at this time, they were empty. We freely walked towards the Great Hall, daringly holding hands whilst we were still far away. But as it neared, we sadly looked at each other, having to let go. It broke my heart that we had to hide our marriage, we couldn’t even wear our wedding rings for fear of being questioned, and accidentally revealing a detail that was too specific towards each other.
“You two might want to be more careful if you don’t want your secret out.” the monotone voice of Severus said behind us. How was he always so quiet?
Remus sighed.“Well, do you see any students?”
“I was able to sneak up on you,” we were at the entrance of the Great Hall now,“and with all this chatter amongst the students, I would take extra precaution. The gossip is starting to disrupt my lessons.”
He walked away from us, and we glanced at each other. Severus was horribly truthful about these kind of things. I was right. The students had their suspicions.
“Remus, what are we going to do?”
We began walking towards the head table.“Relax, we’ll draw more attention to ourselves otherwise. Look, just forget about what he said. I’m sure it’s a group of first years thinking they’ve discovered something and have irritated him.”
Although he was attempting to comfort me, the dreadful feeling of all the students eyes on me was making me feel sick. It wasn’t that I was ashamed to be with Remus, I loved him with my whole heart, I couldn’t wait to be with him forever. When we both got a job at Hogwarts, we had had a long discussion beforehand. Obviously we were excited to have new jobs, until I thought back to a friend who also worked with her partner. They were open with it, and unfortunately, the students would gossip, make up rude stories and interfere, ask too many questions to get into their personal life. It was awful for them. It sounds like a bunch of children ‘bullying’ professors wouldn’t effect them, you should be able to handle children as a professor; but it really took a tole on them.
"Chin up dear," Minerva said as everyone started eating,"I'm sure this will all pass by."
"You might be right. But I can't help thinking...maybe everyone knows." I stated down at my plate.
"Would that really be so bad?"
"I just don't want them talking about us. I've seen it happen to my friends, and I know a lot of married couples aren't work together because of it."
"Perhaps you two will be different."
I sighed."How many times has someone said that?"
"But, don't they see you leaving the castle together?"
"We said that we live near each other so we share lifts to work. It was the only thing we could come up with."
There was empathy on her face."It will all be fine (Y/N), just you wait and see."
The next day had arrived, meaning it was time to chaperone the students to Hogsmeade. When we returned home last night, I had dropped the subject, knowing Remus was much calmer about all of this than I was. I would only cause a fuss, which would perhaps lead to a small argument between us; and I didn't want the tension there tomorrow, if anything came out of this trip, I wanted to enjoy my time with Remus.
"Are you sure I cannot accompany you on the way there?" Remus had asked as the children's permission slips were approved.
I nodded."I just think it's best to split up for a few hours, then we'll meet up at that restaurant, yeah?"
"Alright, see you later."
In any other circumstance, we would have shared a small kiss before leaving one another, but everyone was here. A small smile graced our lips as he walked away, though mine disappeared as soon as he turned around. Sighing to myself, I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to keep warm as my group was assigned to me.
The students practically ran off as soon as we got there, leaving me alone to wander. Remus was no where to be seen, but we had a set time to meet up. For now, it was aimless wandering.
I couldn't stop checking my watch throughout the day. I was too excited to see my husband, have a dinner out together. Teaching was hard, it took up so much time. Although in the evenings Remus and I were together, we weren't actually together. We weren't present because we would probably be marking papers. And having to constantly remember to hide our love at work was tiring and infuriating. Passing some students in shops, I politely smiled, maybe asked if they were having a good day or making sure they stayed in line, before it was finally time to meet my husband.
There was much more of a spring in my step as I made my way to the designated restaurant. Luckily the number of students got smaller as I strayed away from the main hustle and bustle of Hogsmeade, though they should be minding their own business anyway (that would have avoided this whole mess in the first place). I almost missed the place because it was so small. It was made out of old, dark brick, with a narrow but long window, made of old wooden panes. The door was also small, and I smiled at the thought of Remus ducking through it.
It felt more like a cafe than a restaurant. Like the window, it was long and narrow, tables either side of the room, because if there were tables lining down the middle, no one would be able to move. Remus caught my attention by standing up from our table.
"You look beautiful." he greeted, kissing me.
I scoffed as I sat."You knew what I was wearing, we do live together."
"Doesn't mean you're not beautiful."
I bashfully smiled."You're still able to make me blush after all these years."
"Good, I must be doing something right then."
The lunch together reminded me of old times. It was easy to forget about the stress that had been piled on top of our usual schedule in that moment. We laughed, started reminiscing on our lives when we met each other, it was as if we were catching up after not seeing each other for a long time. When we weren't eating, one of our hands was holding onto each other. I knew I had to cherish every moment, especially since it went by far too quickly.
We found ourselves putting on our coats and scarves, taking a few seconds to just gaze at each other. Neither of us wanted to leave. We felt safe here, hidden away from any prying students. Our marriage shouldn't have been hidden, we loved each other, it was supposed to be shown.
"Ready?" he asked.
"Ready."
We quickly kissed each other before making our way to the door. Thanking a waitress as we passed by, I was about to open the door when something in the window caught my eye. My heart dropped as I spotted three children poking their heads up, watching us until they realised they had been caught.
"Remus!" I snapped."We've been spotted."
He had his usual calm tone."We're just two friendly colleagues getting lunch, there's nothing wrong in that."
"We don't know how long they've been there. What if they saw us kissing?!"
"Very friendly colleagues?"
I huffed as I opened the door, trying to see if the kids were still there. They had started running off in the distance, headed in the direction of our meeting point. We had to head back now, it was the end of the trip, and I was expecting a lot of hushed whispers as we arrived.
"Professor (Y/L/N)?" a fourth year student approached me as we rounded up our groups for counting.
Here we go.
"Yes?"
She seemed nervous, glancing back at her friends."Um...just so you know, we all think you and Professor Lupin make a really cute couple. Like, you two are probably the coolest professors we have."
I was shocked by her words."O-Oh. Thank you...that's a very nice thing to say."
She just smiled before leaving to join her friends again. There had been no point lying to her, it was obvious to everyone. But that small opinion meant a lot to me. Perhaps it wouldn't be such a bad thing to put our marriage on display.
" You see?" Remus approached me."It's not as bad as you thought."
"No, I guess not. I just...I didn't want anything to effect us."
"You're my wife. I love you with all my being. A few gossiping children wouldn't change any of that."
He leaned in to kiss me again, but I giggled as I stopped him.
"What?"
"We may let them know about our marriage, but PDA from staff is still frowned upon."
"Do you know how hard it is to resist you?"
"Guess we'll have to make up for it when we're home."

Wonders in the Rain
Remus Lupin x CEO!Reader
Summary - After being unemployed for very long Remus reluctantly allowed his best friend to find him a job as the PA of her boss. And he would forever be grateful to her for that.
Warnings - Metions of death.
A/N   This is also a fic written for @leydileyla 's 1K followers celebration. And now this fic is by far the longest I’ve written with 4K words. So, enjoy!
You groaned, throwing your pen onto the pile of papers and stood up from the confinement of your study desk and slowly walked towards the coffee machine to fill in the third cup of coffee since the morning and it wasn’t even past noon.
It was difficult and exhausting being the CEO of the most renowned company at the age of 21. It was certainly something you hadn’t expected when two years ago your mother said it would be you who continues her legacy and take care of the company in her death bed. You weren’t ready when you were announced the CEO right after the funeral, the grief inside you never had time to dissipate.
You remember so vividly as you stood in the corner of the room, dressed in all black, eyes swollen as the aftermath of losing your world overnight took a toll on you. Your little brother, at the mere age of 11 looked up at you with wide eyes unknown of what was going on as he clung to you, tightly and you held him as tight, afraid you would lose him just as you lost…the man who the cause for the illness of your mother. Her husband, your father, whose name spurred rage in you as you recollected him arguing with your mother and leaving you and your brother to watch as your mother collapsed onto the floor.
You smiled pleasantly as your eyes fell on the beautiful woman you had the privilege to call your mother. It was her last picture. Your brother and you were huddled in her arms, a wide smile on your face as your mother kissed your forehead, your eye closed as your brother looked at you, his head thrown back as laughter engulfed him. It was like the time was frozen and you would rather be that girl - carefree and filled with happiness than…you, life so dark you can’t see anything except for the little shine that you so dearly held close to you in protection - your brother.
That was all in your life. Brother and company. Nothing in the orbit of love. It disgusted you ever since you saw your father leave. You despised that feeling of giving someone so much of yourself only for them to dust it off as though it was nothing but a speck of dirt.
“Ms (L/N)?” your trail of thoughts were interrupted by a sweet voice. You composed yourself, placing the photograph on the table and turned around. It was Lily Evans, an employee of yours who you could very well say was close to you. She knew everything about you, from what you do first in the morning to your drastic sleeping schedule. She almost knew how you would react in every situation yet you couldn’t label your relation with her.
“Yes,” you turned around, avoiding her eyes. She stepped into your lavish office the only person ever having the privilege of being allowed to.
“So, there is this really good friend of mine-” she started with a feared voice only to be cut off by you.
“Evans, please, if this is some sort of a recommendation-” You said and paused as she hurriedly said, “No, no, no. I mean, yes, but he really deserves it,”
“Fine, what is it?” you said, sighing as you once again took a seat behind your messy desk.
“I’ve heard people say things about you never having a PA and my friend is actually, I mean, would actually love to take that position,” she said awkwardly. You smirked and leaned back on your chair, looking at her intently as she blushed under your intense gaze.
You shook your head, “Fine, but I want to meet him and then I will decide,”
You watched as Lily’s was brightened and she nodded enthusiastically, “Just an hour and he will be here to meet you,”
You hesitated thinking of your schedule before she said, “You are free the next few hours,”
“And how do you know that?” you asked, raising your eyebrows.
“I just heard,” she said, looking at the soles of her shoes.
You rolled your eyes, “No wonder I can’t keep any secrets,”
You were known for many conspiracy theories and gossips. It was difficult at the start, many breakdowns later you were broken enough that all those knives passed right through the holes, never affecting you.
You were not excited about the arrival of Lily’s friend and time passed so quickly that before you knew it there was a knock on the door. “Come in,” you mumbled, too endorsed in your work to even look up or comprehend the sudden presence.
“M-Ms (L/N),” you heard a deep voice say. The voice was new and one you had never heard of and your head automatically whipped to look at the source, startling the poor guy before you. Scars were littering his face and had a failed attempt at masking the exhaustion. He looked weak although there was a pleasant aura surrounding him, buzzing around him with energy.
He played with the hem of his denim jacket, shifting from one foot to another. His ripped jeans and slightly dirty shirt telling he wasn’t prepared for this meet. He gulped, “My name is Remus, uh, Remus Lupin,”
You blinked and stood up from your chair, “Who-why are you here?”
Remus’ eyes widened, “I-um, I, Lily told you wanted to see me. I mean, like wanted to meet me before you gave the, uh, the job,”
For the first time, Remus saw you smile. Remus always admired you, the power and authority that radiated off you was bewildering when considered you were just 21, a year younger than himself and a successful CEO while here he was jobless and wandering around aimlessly.
Of course, it hurt that ego instilled in him but he wasn’t gonna lose the opportunity of having some money in his hand to pay off his bills. Working as a PA to a girl younger than you wasn’t often considered a better one, and his mother told that very thing when he had called her minutes ago.
You chuckled, “Take a seat,” you sat down and beckoned him to a chair placed on the opposite side of the desk. You closed the cap of your pen as Remus awkwardly walked towards the desk.
“So, tell me something about you,” You said, your eyes boring into his eyes. They were gorgeous to Remus and it was terrifying when the reality set in that he was sitting before the (Y/N) (L/N). Someone he had admired only while scrolling through his phone and watching the news.
You shook your hand dismissively, “I’ll rephrase that,” you sat in a more comfortable position on the chair, “Tell me about the companies you’ve worked for before, your qualification and some basic information about you like your age and things. If you don’t mind, that is,”
“No, no, of course,” Remus said, “I just graduated from my university and I’ve worked for a minor publishing house for about six months,”
“And why aren’t you working with them anymore?” You asked but immediately asked him to continue as the subtle melancholy wove into his facial expressions and his fingers twitched.
“Um, I studied English literature and yeah,” He said, shrugging and finally a small smile formed on his face.
You chuckled, shaking your head, “Where are you from?”
“Wales,” he said, without leaving a gap and was weirded out to find the odd feeling in his stomach as he saw you smile and chuckle over again in the short span of time you had met him.
“Beautiful,” You glanced at the desktop placed on the side of your table and then looked back at him, “It's not gonna be an easy ride of you being my PA you might know the controversies that sparked in the past,”
“Yes, mam,” Remus nodded, his hands that were tightly clasped together was sweating profusely.
“You will be sent an email that will let you know about the rest of the details. Make sure you read it thoroughly,” You said, glancing at the computer screen again.
“Yes mam,” Remus said, fiddling with his fingers.
“Also, the date when you can join will be mentioned in the email itself,” you smiled at him, “And that’s about it,”
“Oh, alright,” Remus stood up slowly.
“Your appointed, Mr Lupin,” You said once again and watched as the glow finally found his face after your confirmation. He grinned happily and said, “Thank you very much, Ms (L/N),” and dashed out of the room without another word, leaving you feeling extremely happy for some reason as you returned to your tedious paper.
Tumblr media
Two months, that’s how long you had known Remus and over time it was appropriate to say the two of you grew closer.
You had never had anyone to stand behind you and guide you to what is right, it was always you, yourself alone in the vast arena named society feeling scared and little in the insides while having a brave facade outside. It was extremely difficult to push everything aside and struggle to move forward alone and without proper guidance.
But ever since Remus was appointed two months ago, he had never left your side. It was as though somebody had stepped beside you on the high podium you stood on, facing what was worse than galloping hordes. The comforting aura radiating off him calmed the burning insecurity and fear drilled into you. He stood like a guard, a mentor and a…friend. You’d go a far as to say family as you saw the ways he behaved with your brother.
Remus never made you regret a thing in your regretful life. It was almost bewildering in the start at what he could do. He had made a tiny hole in the wall you had created for yourself from the world. And the little crack Remus created bombarded him with everything he knew that you wouldn't have told anyone else.
You weren’t aware how he knew all those things about you that even you didn’t. It was as though he knew exactly what you would do before you even thought of it. Remus Lupin did wonders to you.
And (Y/N) (L/N) did wonders to him. Remus couldn’t calm his nerves the first day he walked into your office in that posh suit and saw that bright sparkle in your beautiful eyes. He fell. Quite literally, it was extremely awkward when he tripped over his own foot and had to hold onto the door handle. But you had a smile and beckoned him inside saying it happens all the time and how you had to change the layout of the office.
Just as Sirius Black - the love god as he demanded to be called - predicted, by the end of the first month, Remus was smitten over you. He couldn’t find a reason to dislike you in fact, every minuscule detail he learned about you just made him like you more.
One drunken confession to the “love God”, Remus was clear of his feelings to you and he was never one to understand his feelings, rather run away from them and he had lost a handful of relations like that and he never wanted to do it again yet there wasn’t a chance he could tell them to you and the victim of the mess of his love life was James (Remus thought he deserved it).
Tumblr media
Remus groaned, leaning back on his chair and rubbed his eyes. He received the mail for the annual conference that would be held where thousands of companies would be having a discussion. It was a really good idea but you hated it and just yesterday he had listened to you speak passionately against it, although Remus just heard the first few sentences and the rest of them falling into his deaf ears as he stared at you.
“Remus,” Lily shook his arm, “Remus!”
“I'm listening,” He mumbled and he didn’t have to see her to know she would have rolled her eyes.
“What is the email about?” She asked.
“Read it yourself, Evans,” he said with a sigh.
“Is this what you would have told to the love of your life?” she said but he could hear her voice drawl as she read the mail. Remus mumbled, “I don’t love,”
“Sure you don’t, Lupin,” she scoffed. Remus knew what was happening and who she was referring but he would dare say it himself and be teased relentlessly.
“So, why are you groaning to attend a conference,” Lily asked.
“She hates that,” Remus said, still not opening his eyes.
“Ah, she hates everything,” Lily said and he failed to notice the smirk on her lips as he defended you and glared at her.
“First of all, it’s overseas and she said they would be poorly organised. Second, she doesn’t hate everything, alright, you just don’t know what she likes,” He said, sitting straight on his chair.
“Sure, sure, Remus,” She said, teasing and left not before ruffling his mass curls, “You suck, do you that?”
”Yep, ask James of it!” She said, winking at him as Remus groaned, disgusted.
“Ms (L/N),” Remus managed to leave his seat 30 minutes later, mentally preparing himself. You looked at him with a bright smile and beckoned him in by waving your hand enthusiastically. It physically hurt Remus to think he would be the one delivering the news that would wipe the grin off your face.
“The annual conference-” Before Remus could even complete his sentence he saw your mood shift completely by how you slammed your head against your study desk. He winced.
“When is it?” He could hear you mumble. You would be thoroughly pissed if he told when it was. Remus shifted his weight from one foot to another and said, “Day after tomorrow,”
“Day after tomorrow!?” you yelled, whipping your head to look at him. Remus nodded apologetically.
Tumblr media
And here you were two days later, in your private plane flying to a place where you dreaded to go. Although the only good thing in this was seeing Remus in a causal outfit other than his tailored black suit even that was overpowered by the fact that it was seven in the evening.
“We will be there in about two hours,” Remus said, scrolling through his phone, “You can take a nap and once we reach there we need to get to the location they sent by a car they have arranged,”
“They arranged a car?” You asked, blinking at him.
“Yes, they did,” he shrugged, closing his phone and keeping it in the holder. He looked into your bewildered eyes.
“Do we have a backup plan?” you asked, glaring at him.
“We-no? Why do we need a backup plan?” He asked, puzzled.
“Remus, do you remember when I told you about their ability to organising things?” You said, looking at him accusingly. Remus took a deep breath, he had not just forgotten them but ignored them too.
“Uh,” He gulped and rubbed the back of his neck, “We-”
”Lupin, I swear I am not walking miles!” you scolded. And for some reason, Remus’ damned mind could predict exactly what Sirius would have said at the moment and was almost tempted to say the exact words he would have said, “I’ll carry you, don’t worry,” but Remus knew better.
“You won’t, promise,” He gave thumbs up, “Now, you get your needed nap, yeah?”
“Would you leave?” you asked, staring into Remus’ eyes with mixed emotions and he couldn't place a finger on what exactly it was to give a response, so he resorted to the good ol’, “Do you want me to leave?”
You took a deep breath. Did you want him to leave? You were torn between yourself. One part of you wanted him to stay with you, having no strength to battle with your thoughts alone although he wasn’t going to do much, his sole presence was comforting for you. The other part was scared. Scared of what he could do and just fear blocking every thought of yours.
But the fear, somehow, for the first time was brought down and you whispered, “Stay,” and who was Remus to disobey that.
After two exhausting hours confined in that plane, the first thing you did once you got off the plane was crack your joints while walking outside and Remus stood on the side chuckling at you.
“Well, you are the one who is supposed to do it,” You said, rolling your eyes with a smile. He walked to your side, “I don’t exactly ‘cause I knew how to sit on a plane,”
“Oh is it now?” You scoffed.
Remus hummed, “Yep!”
“How else do you sleep in that uncomfortable seat?”
“You wouldn’t kill me if I said, would you?” He asked, looking at you cautiously.
You shrugged, “It depends,”
“Alright. Um, that’s not reassuring but I’ll tell - you don’t sleep when you on a plane,” Remus said and watched as you whipped your head towards him and glaring.
“What sort of a creature are you?!”
“A good one,”
“Ooh, getting brave now are we, Lupin,” You bumped your shoulder with him and Remus chuckled, shaking his head.
“Remus, how long will it take?” You asked glaring at him, who spoke frantically to someone on his phone. The two of you were still in the airport after an hour or so and just like you warned the car has not yet arrived. You huffed and looked at the large window panels that showed the exit of the airport. The sun had already set, not a speck of it in the sky. It was pitch black, the half-moon already shining with the stars in its company.
You always loved staring at the sky. It not just reminded of your mother but her interpretation. She always considered the moon to be herself when she was younger. The little stars close to it were you and your brother and the rest all were her employees and comrades. She later said the moon was you and the stars behind you were every single person you would meet and the beautiful night sky was reserved for a special person. However, you tried to oppose her point, she stood her stand and told you that one day you will understand it and perhaps it was about time you did.
You felt someone touch your hand and when you turned to look, Remus was crouched before you, his scarred hand on top of yours. His bright eyes were apologetic as he stared into your eyes. He was confused about how watery it was. Remus scrunched his eyebrows, “Are you alright?”  You nodded with a smile. Remus sighed and held your hand tightly in his.
“The car didn’t come, isn’t it?” you asked with a smirk. Remus ducked his head low. He always felt extremely guilty when he couldn’t do the job he was given and certainly not when he ignored the instruction.
He was surprised to hear you chuckle, “It’s alright,” You said, grinning at him.
Remus’ eyes widened, “Really?”
You shrugged, “There isn’t much that I can do now, is it?”
“I-I’m really sorry,” He hoped you would accept his apology.
You laughed, “It’s OK, Remus, calm down and think of how we are going there now,”
“Yes, about that the organizer said they would arrange us a motorbike,” Remus grimaced in anticipation of your reaction.
“Really?” You asked, your eyes widened in excitement.
“Yeah, it’s actually there at the exit of the terminal,” he said.
“Ah! Can we use it then?” sitting on the edge of the seat you asked him with a childish excitement making Remus’ heart swell happiness. He stared at you with a mild smile on your face as he chuckled.
“That’s why it is there in the first place,” he said and watched your eyes lit up with no concern of the sass in his words that usually wasn’t ignored.
“I wanna see it!” You stood up abruptly and pulled him up with you. Although getting slightly intimidated by how he towered over you, the profound excitement of finally seeing a motorbike coursed through your veins like fire.
Remus chuckled, “Yes, of course,”
He couldn’t believe it. Remus couldn’t believe the sight before him - his ever stoic boss had her jaw dropped to the floor as she saw the motorbike.
It all quite made sense if he had to think of it, it was impossible for you to drive it down the streets anywhere back home but here it was rather unknown of your arrival, so you could zoom through the streets as you whished without a sense of fear. It was one of the reasons why you chose to travel in the night while announcing you would be leaving the country in the morning.
“Ahh, this is so beautiful!” you gushed, walking closer and running your hand across the seat, “Can I drive? Please?”
“As you should. I dunno to drive that,” Remus said, shrugging.
“It’s alright,” You waved your hand, dismissively, “I’m not gonna judge,”
As you swing your leg over the bike seat and adjust your coat, you said, “My mum got me one for my 18th birthday and I was obsessed over it, like that’s was my only means of transportation,”
“That’s brilliant,” Remus said as he planned the first thing he would do once he is back home.
You and Remus were high on adrenaline as the two of you zoomed into the night. The feeling of cutting through the air with wide grins and hollering happily was indeed beautiful and in the back of your mind, the astonishment of how long it had taken you for being like this again baffled.
But it all went down once the light drizzle became fully-fledged rain. Having to park the motorbike by some bus stop, the two of you held your jackets above your head and ducked inside, still grinning.
“Ah, the bike is getting wet,” you said, the thought dampening your mood.
“This doesn’t seem to be stopping any soon,” Remus said, taking a deep breath as he scanned the surroundings. It was pitch black except for the moon shining down at you. It was such a sight for sore eyes when Remus turned to look at you, your coat was tightly wrapped around yourself, your hair dripping with the rainwater, your eyes shining as you watched your surrounding. You looked divine.
Remus didn’t know what he was thinking when he took hold of your hand and ran out of the bus stop. “Remus! What are you doing!?” You yelled as he pulled you to the middle of the deserted road.
“You said to me once you loved dancing in the rain!” he said, pushing the water out of his eyes.
“But-” You looked around, the adrenaline still rushing inside and it indeed was your dream to be out in the streets dancing while rain poured down and the night sky guarded you. Remus let go of your hand, his eyes never leaving you as your legs slowly started moving as though by nature of the memory.
Time slipped through your hands and before you knew it, after all the laughter, you were back in Remus’ arms, staring into his eyes. You always loved them, feeling as though they held mystery amidst them although always raw. You knew on your fingertips how he felt at that moment when you could just see his eyes but now, it was unknown.
Remus had a gentle smile on his face as he protectively had his arms wrapped around your waist, a reassurance to himself that you were indeed protected from anything and everything. He leaned down to keep the two of you close and warm.
“Remus,” you whispered, silently.  He smiled, allowing his eyes to shut as the echo of his name tumbling from your lips ran in his ears and before he knew it before he had control on himself, Remus blurted, “I love you,”
He was stunned to hear the tiny gasp leaving your mouth and his heart was wrenched out when he saw the disbelief and incredulity in your eyes, “What’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong!?” you yelled and Remu was taken aback, “Is that what you ask after telling me you love me?!”
”I am sorry," his statement ended more like a question as he looked at you with wide eyes. The rain was still pouring and he didn’t know if it was the rain or your own tears in your eyes.
“Jerk!” You yelled, your fingers holding his drenched shirt tightly as your chest heaved rapidly.
Remus wasn’t confused, he was beyond just confused about your reaction. You were yelling at him like he was some stupid but never letting go of him and now he was never the best at these messes.
Clearing his mind off all the thoughts he cautiously moved his hand to rest on the side of your cheek and watched as your eyes closed, your own hand moving to hold his tightly.
Remus leaned down and kissed your forehead. He had never seen you more vulnerable as a sob escaped your lips and you slammed against his chest, your arm tightly wrapped around his torso.
It was the first time in three years had you been kissed on the forehead and that alone proved to you that Remus was different. He is your night sky.
Remus held you tightly in the comfort of his arms as you whispered “I love you” into his shoulder. He never knew when the rain stopped. And now the surrounding was fragile. It was just you and him in the deserted street, the freshly smelling earth, the stars and moon shining down at you…and love.

"Fred, calm down." George begged me; he walked by my side, trying to talk some sense into me, but it was not the moment. "You gotta understand her— throwing a fit isn't going to help anyone—" I didn't even look in my twin's direction while he spoke. "Bloody hell, Fred—"
"Y/n!" I quickened my pace, leaving George behind after spotting her in one of the corridors, having a chat with a couple of Ravenclaws. "Can I have a word?"
"Sure— Oi!" I hadn't waited for her to reply before grabbing her hand and snatching her away to pull her into the nearest broom closet. "What was that about?"
"Tell me I heard Katie wrong and you're not actually leaving."
"I can't tell you that." She plainly responded, her voice steady.
A single, gobsmacked snide left my throat. "You're joking, right?" My heart ached as if it was being constricted when she shook her head no. "So you're fleeing?"
"What?"
"Things are getting ugly so you're running away."
Her eyes dug into mines as she stayed in a very uncomfortable silence before replying with. "So what if I am?" When I averted my eyes from hers, she called my name. Her eyes were somewhat softer now, with a gleam of plea in them. "For the last two years we had nothing but tragedy. Diggory died, You-Know-Who is back and recruiting, the ministry is full on going against a teenager, this pink colored nasty toad is physically abusing us, and on top of that, I have to put up with my housemates' bullshit for having muggle blood— I'm tired!" Her voice had raised a bit, enough for me to know she was struggling to keep it at bay, but still managed to. "If I can have a life out of this then—"
"You're a coward."
"Fred." there was a warning on her tone, but I couldn't listen.
"You're leaving... people behind," she attempted to reason; I didn't let her. "Dunno why I'm surprised, really. At the end of the day you're a Slytherin for a reason."
Her eyes started to well up, and I couldn't tell if it was with anguish or fury. I knew I was getting under her skin, but that was exactly what I intended to do; if I was going to leave that room scarred, so would she.
"Self-preservation, you call it." I scoffed, feeling my own rage building up faster each passing second. "Pure cowardy."
"Is that what you think?" Her tone wasn't steady anymore; she was holding back the poison of her words, for my sake.
"Yeah." I wasn't capable of doing the same thing for hers. "And I don't want your cheap excuses and emotional manipulation to convince me otherwise." My face was probably red due to the anger, my jaw and fists hurt from clenching them; I was off the rails, and the person who would usually stop me was standing in front of me. "Better leave now so you don't have the chance to sell us out when shit goes down."
Silence fell upon us, our gazes locked, equally watery and with the same amount of fury and sadness within them.
And finally she snapped. "Maybe I'm a coward, but you're a self-absorbed prat who's not able to see beyond your own ego!" The way she said it hurt me more than the sentence itself. "This is not gonna be a DADA class, Fred! I don't want to fucking die because I was too slow casting Protego."
"Good luck, Y/l/n." I curtly wished her before stalking out of the broom closet I have initially dragged her into.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
We avoided each other for a week. The following Monday, when I entered the Great Hall, I found George and Katie quite depressed.
"What's gotten into you?"
They shared a look before my brother turned to me, deciding to break the news himself.
"Y/n left last night." He gave me an apologetic look. "Thought she'd wait until the graduation—"
"But she's had enough." Katie finished, toying with her breakfast. "Honestly, I wish I had a life in the muggle world too."
My lungs were refusing to take the air inside; I felt as if I would choke if I stayed there, so I stormed out, jogging to reach the countryard.
I needed to breathe.
Even after the wind hit my face, that vital task felt like the most difficult thing in the world to accomplish.
I hate her I hate her I hate her I hate her.
A sob escaped my chest, realising the harsh words I had spat at her were probably the last ones she would ever hear from me.
I love her.
A Year And A Half Later
READER'S P. O. V.
I managed to apparate somewhere in the cornfield —the only place around the Burrow I remembered clearly.
I should have landed with a broom, but apparently, Mad-Eye didn't inform Lupin that I would serve as an extra escort for Harry if they were ambushed, so my broom was now smashed somewhere down the muggle road we had flown over.
Mentally cursing the damn moment in which I spoke to Shacklebolt in hopes of being useful in this war, I looked for the entrance of the Weasley home, which took me quite a while.
Funnily enough, it was Lupin who stepped out, wielding his wand and casting yet another hex at me that I somehow managed to block.
With a swift wave of my hand, he was propelled back into the house. "YOU!" A long-haired redhead I recognized as the eldest Weasley helped my old Professor up as I stalked to them with my wand up. "YOU HEXED MY BLOODY BROOM! I'M LUCKY TO BE ALIVE!"
"Y/n, calm down—" Shacklebolt was now besides me with his hands up. "He didn't know you were coming— he was trying to protect George from further harm."
My brain was slow to process his words, but as soon as it did, I started to down my arm. "What happened?"
"Snape hit him with the sectumsempra." My eyes widened at Lupin's heavy words.
"Did everyone else make it?" The three of them remained silent, the ginger shaking his head no.
My breath caught up in my throat, but before I could ask if Fred was alright, another tall ginger flashed the corner of my eye, and my head snapped to the living room's door.
FRED'S P. O. V.
Everyone was scattered around the house. Ginny took Hermione and Fleur to her room; Ron and Harry made its way up too; Tonks went out —she needed a moment alone to mourn Mad-Eye—, and, while my parents and I stayed with George, Lupin, Shacklebolt and Bill went to guard the entrance.
I was still kneeling by George's side, holding his hand while our mother healed his wound the best she could, when we heard a yell followed by a strong blow in the kitchen.
I looked at my mum and dad, my eyes flickering to my twin while I reached for my wand.
As I got up, more yells were heard, this time clearer; the voice was familiar— I knew that voice all too well.
There she stood, at the entrance of my home.
Her eyes met mines as soon as she caught a glimpse of me, and my head started to spin. I knew I had no right to do what I was about to do, but after that night's events, in which the war became very much real, I couldn't help but rush to her and engulf her in a tight hug.
Surprisingly enough, I couldn't take more than two steps forward, since she did what I intended to do first.
"You're alright." She mumbled against my shoulder. My eyes shut, trying to block the tears that threatened to fall. "How's he?" She inquired whilst pulling away with a concerned frown.
Not trusting my voice, I nodded in the living room's direction. A quiet sough escaped my lips as she passed by, her hands lingering on my arms for a brief instant before she entered the room and took careful steps towards the settee.
I barely caught a couple of words from George and Y/n's exchange, my mind still buzzing due to the shock.
"What do you say, Freddie?" I frowned at my twin, regretting not listening to the conversation. "She can take my bed, right? I'm not gonna get far anyway."
"Right." I agreed, struggling for my voice to come out steady. It was Y/n we were talking about; I had known her since our fourth year, I had been friends and more with her, seeing her shouldn't be that nerve-wracking.
A couple of minutes later, we were all heading to our respective rooms, and as I closed my room's door behind me and Y/n, it dawned on me that I had underestimated the anxiety that could cause me being left alone with her.
Get it together, Fred.
"If you want, you can grab a shirt from the drawer." I finally managed to speak, motioning at the chest besides the window. She nodded and turned to it to look for one she could sleep in.
Now that I had the opportunity, I carefully observed her, and soon realized how much she had changed in the time we were apart. Not only when it came to her physical appearance; she stood a bit straighter, talked a little calmer; the joy with which she used to sparkle was dim now, eclipsed by a severe, worried attitude— a sign of us no longer being the kids who messed around at Hogwarts.
"I missed you" I knew right away that wasn't the best start for the conversation.
"It sure didn't seem like it." The bitterness in her tone stung my heart harsher than I expected.
"You're still mad?" The way I was conducting the conversation was making me want to bang my head against the wall.
She sighed, turning around now that she had the shirt on to meet my gaze. "A year and a half, Fred. You didn't contact me for a year and a half. I thought we were friends."
"You left me behind!" I talked back, partly because I panicked, but also because I, to my surprise, was still mad too. "What did you even expect?"
"A letter?" She questioned, throwing herself down on the bed. "I mean— I didn't really expect anything, but a letter would have been a good way to let me know you didn't fucking hate me." My eyes, now fixed on my lap, went wide when Y/n's voice broke at her last three words.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled, quite ashamed of having to apologise while also being scared of saying anything that could harm her further. "I'm sorry about not writing and- uh... I'm sorry about what I said to you. I know it's not an excuse but I was really mad and..." I cleared my throat and felt the blush creeping up my neck even before I finished the sentence. "... and hurt 'cause you- I thought that maybe I wasn't important enough to you and- yeah, I'm sorry about what I said." I tried meeting her eyes but they were fixed on the wall before her.
"It's fine." She shrugged, "I guess you were right anyway."
"I wasn't right-"
"You were." She hugged her knees to her chest and hid her face there. "Wanna know why I'm back?" She didn't need my response. "They're hunting down my family." My heart stopped beating for a second due to the shockingly deadpanning tone. "A friend gave me a tip-off— they were tracking them down. I got to them just in time." I refrained myself from asking about them —the less I knew, the better. "So yeah, you're right, I was a coward and left people behind."
My body shot up and my legs carried me to George's bed; without me being fully aware of what I was doing or which consequences it could have, I sat down and pulled Y/n into my arms.
Though she was shocked at first, her body soon relaxed into the familiarity of my arms, and she let out a relieved sigh. "You're not alone on this." I whispered, pecking her crown. "I'm here, okay?"
"So you don't hate me?" She murmured against my chest.
Maybe it was the fragility of her voice, or the warmth of her embrace I missed so much; maybe it was this past year and a half of regret, or the night's events, but I couldn't hold back my words.
"I love you."
And even though she went stiff, even if I had just blurted them out almost in accident, I didn't regret saying them, because I, in fact, loved her.
She pulled away to look into my eyes. "You mean it?"
"Yeah." I replied, calmer than I had been in a while. "And I'm really sorry about everything, if I could turn back time—" words and air were cut off by her lips crashing against mines.
We had kissed before, but it was on a bet's behalf or to prank someone; this was different, this was her pouring her 'I love you' into actions, and I embrace it gladly.
"No more running away." I commanded when she pulled back. "From now on, we stick together." She nodded, her forehead resting against mine and her palms on my chest.
Tu m'appartiens // g.w.
pairing: george weasley x reader
 requested: no
word count: 3.4k
warnings: some jealousy, somewhat steamy dialogue?, fluff
A/N: Ahhh! I’ve been wanting to write this for like two weeks now, and thanks to my brain deciding 3am is the perfect time to remember my high school french lessons and create a full french conversation as I’m trying to go to bed, I figured why not write it today when I’ve already got a good portion of the french out of the way. It also helps that my laptop magically started behaving again for me so I could type on here instead of my phone. I’m very excited to have this done, and I really hope you guys like it too. I feel like I’ve lost my touch for writing so I’m just trying to get back into it. disclaimer - I have never and will never claim fluency in french. All the french in this is simply from my memory of how things should be formatted with help from the internet. If you fluently speak french and notice there’s errors, don’t worry about letting me know. Just be kind about it. That or you can just ignore it for me, that’s be cool too. Anyways, I hope you guys like this!! Xx
"Mon Cheri! (Honey) I'm home. How was your day today?" Your father asks as he apparates into the kitchen. You smile, closing the fridge door as you grabbed a bowl of grapes.
"Bonjour, papa. I've been good. How about you? How was work?" You ask, taking a seat at the kitchen island while your father busies himself with taking off his jacket and getting comfortable.
"Good, good. You remember that eccentric coworker of mine I was telling you about? Arthur?"
You nod, popping a grape into your mouth. It was one of the first things he had told you about after moving here to Britain and starting work at the Ministry. You had to admit that the man sounded interesting. Bright red hair and obsessed with muggle inventions. He sounded like he'd be a fun person to talk to. Not to mention, your father had said he was extraordinarily kind and welcoming. You were glad he had met someone to get him acquainted with the new job.
"We were talking today and I had mentioned that you were going to be starting at Hogwarts beginning of September, so of course he was wondering how old you were. So I told him, and guess what? It turns out he has two sons - twins - your age."
"Vraiment (really)? That's cool, papa. You think they'll be able to help me adjust to Hogwarts?"
"I'm hoping, mon cheri (honey). Arthur invited us over for dinner to introduce us to his family, and so you could meet his children. Says he's got the twins that are your age, a boy two years younger, and a daughter a year younger than that. At the very least, you can get to know some kids before starting school, yeah?"
"Of course. It sounds like fun, papa. When did he invite us over for?"
"Sunday. Is that alright?"
"Perfect! Can't wait!"
~.~
When Sunday finally comes around, you're a mess of nerves and excitement. You nervous about meeting new people, especially kids you'd be going to school with. You didn't have any problems with school or having friends back at Beauxbatons, but being in a new country, you weren't sure what people would think of you.
It's not like you weren't a kind and friendly person, but there was the worry of people teasing you for speaking a different language. You knew English well enough, but you still had the French accent which you were sure sounded funny to others.
"Are you ready, y/n?"
You look up to see your father poking his head into the room. You smile and nod, taking a deep breath to calm your rising nerves. You weren't usually this nervous about anything, but you could feel your heart racing and palms sweating. You only hoped you wouldn't make a fool of yourself in front of the Weasley family.
"Yeah. As ready as I can be I guess."
He smiles, motioning for you to follow him out. You quickly grab your jacket and bag, taking one last glance around the room to make sure you weren't forgetting anything. Sighing, you decide that you've got everything you think you'll need before following your father out of the apartment to your shared car.
Since you hadn't yet been to the Weasley's home, you decided it would be best to drive there instead of apparating or using the Floo. You weren't sure exactly how far away they lived, but it couldn't have been too far.
~.~
Reading road signs, you smile as you drive through Ottery St Catchpole as it's a quaint little town with few houses spread across the land. You figured it was as beautiful a place as any to live, better than in the middle of a larger town like you and your father did. Out here you got to hear birds and nature, whereas the town rang loud with cars and chatter. You could never find any peace in the city, but there was no shortage of it here.
"Well that's nice." you hear your father compliment, looking at the slightly lopsided house in front of the two of you.
"Is this the Weasley's?"
"I believe so. It's a nice home they've got, isn't it mon cherie (my dear)?"
"Beautiful. It looks like it'd be homey inside." You smile, getting out of the car as your dad turns off the car.
"y/d/n, I'm glad to see you. This must be your daughter?" A red-haired man asks, smiling at the both of you as he comes out from the house.
"She is. It's nice to see you, Arthur. Thank you for inviting us to dinner."
"Yes, merci (Thank you) Mr. Weasley." You smile, curtseying lightly at the older man.
"It's nice to meet you, dear. Y/n, right?"
You nod and smile, shaking the hand that Arthur holds out to you.
"Oui (Yes). It's nice to meet you too."
"Well come on inside and meet my wife and our children. Get comfortable." Arthur invites, leading you and your father back to the house.
Upon entering you're met with a hug from an older woman, who you can only assume is Mrs. Weasley. Already you're liking this family, but you can't help but notice that she too sports ginger hair.
"Hello, Hello. It's so nice to meet you. You must be, y/n?"
"Uh, yes. Enchanté, Mrs. Weasley. It's nice to meet you." You smile, a small blush coming to your cheeks.
Your father was an affectionate person, but this was a whole new level. You can't say you didn't mind it though. You hadn't even been inside the house for five minutes yet, but you already felt welcomed and cared for.
"Oh, dear. Call me Molly. I'm so glad you and your dad decided to come tonight. Arthur hasn't been able to stop talking about his new French co-worker and daughter."
You nod, chuckling a bit. Your dad has been the same way about Arthur. It's no surprise that they were friends.
"When I found out how old you were, I just had to invite you all over. My children are...somewhere around here. Let's introduce you. Fred and George are in the same year, so I thought it'd be great for you three to get to know each other before classes start."
"Of course. I appreciate it tremendously, Molly. It'll definitely be nice to know at least someone when I start."
"Of course, dear. Here, one second."
"Fred! George! Ron! Ginny! Come meet our guests!"
You smile, taking the time to look around the house at all the pictures and personal touches. There was no denying that this house was full of love.
"Guests?" You hear someone ask, footsteps coming down the stairs.
"Yes, Fred. I told you all we'd be having your father's work friend and his daughter over this weekend." Molly sighs as two identical boys come into view.
You can't help but chew on your lip as you smile lightly. The two boys were definitely attractive, but you didn't want to think about that right now. You weren't looking for a relationship.
"Boys, meet Y/n." Molly introduces, motioning towards you.
"Hi. Enchanté."
" Enchanté?" they ask, brows furrowing in confusion.
"Nice to meet you. It's a standard greeting, guys." You hear someone else call and your attention is drawn over to the doorway where yet another ginger has appeared with a blonde attached to his arm. You're not quite sure why, but the blonde seems even more comforting than Molly.
"Bill! I'm glad you and Fleur and could make it!" You hear Molly smile, pulling the man into a hug as the blonde smiles, greeting the woman with a small hug.
"Ohh. It's nice to meet you too. I'm George." one smiles, holding his hand out for our to shake.
"I'm Fred." The other introduces, giving you a cheeky smile as you blush lightly, shaking both of their hands.
You try to find any differences between them, but there's not many. You can tell that one, George if you remember correctly, has a bit more of an oval-shaped face compared to his brother, but that’s about all you can tell right now.
“Ah, Salut! Bon soir.(Hi! Good evening)” The blonde greets, excited at having another French women in the place. She loved Bill and his family, but she did miss France. She could only imagine how overwhelmed to must feel.
“Bon soir.” You greet, smiling as she quickly kisses each of your cheeks in typical French greeting.
“Je m’appelle Fleur. Tu t’appelles est...?” (My name is Fleur. Your name is...)
“Y/n. Enchanté (nice to meet you), Fleur. Comment ça va (how are you)?” You inquire out of politeness, realizing now why she seemed so comforting to you when she walked in - she was French which was familiar, hence comforting.
“Enchanté. Ça va très bien! Et toi?” (Nice to meet you. I am very well! And you?)
“Eh, ça va. C’est trés fou (eh, okay. It’s very crazy)” you chuckle, earning a small chuckle and nod from her.
“Ah, oui (yes). You get used to it though, y/n.”
You sigh and nod, looking around at all the people currently occupying the house. You definitely did not expect this when your father had told you that you'd been invited over for dinner.
~.~
"So, y/n, dear. Are you excited for Hogwarts?" Molly asks as you all sit down and eat dinner.
"I am. I'm a bit nervous though. Never really thought I'd be transferring schools this late in my education, especially to another country."
"That's understandable, dear. Hogwarts is wonderful though. All of my children have gone there, and you'll have these four to help get you situated." She smiles, nodding towards the twins, ron, and Ginny, who you met shortly after Fleur.
"Absolutely! It'll be so much fun having you around." Ginny smiles, taking a bite of her food.
"What did you think of hogwarts when you visited, mon ange (my angel)?" You hear Bill ask Fleur.
You furrow your brows, not expecting Fleur to have attended Hogwarts.
"It was nice. Different to Beauxbatons, but I don't ‘ave any complaints." She smiles.
You nod, feeling a little better knowing that someone else had had a good experience with the school having come from another country.
"Fred and George, I'm sure, will have no problem showing you around and introducing you to people. And they'll behave for your sake." Molly indirectly threatens, a chuckle leaving Fred's lips.
"Of course, mum. We won't scare the poor girl. Not right away at least."
"Pardon (excuse me)?" you ask, a little worried about who your classmates were already.
"Ignore him, y/n. They like to pull pranks around the castle, but if they ever pulled one on you, I'm sure they know that I'll be coming for them, don't you guys?" ginny questions, cocking a brow at her two older brothers.
"Of course, Gin. We wouldn't dream of pranking y/n here." George states, both him and Fred looking a bit nervous at their sister's warning.
You chuckle, smiling at the ginger girl who is quickly becoming your favourite weasley. She sends a small wink your way, enjoying the hold she has over her brothers.
~.~
You sigh, gulping back nerves as you look at all the students around the platform. You knew that Hogwarts wasn't a small school, but you had never really stopped to consider just how many students there would be.
"You doing okay?" Fred asks, him and George coming to stand either side of you.
"Just perfect." You quip, your eyes dancing with worry as your heart pounds out the
song.
"Breathe, y/n. We'll be here and so will Ron and Ginny. I'm sure Hermione will be by your side too once she gets to know you." George reassures, resting his arm on your shoulder.
"Y/n!"
You turn at the call of your name, lighting up when you see Fleur and Bill coming your way. You luckily made friends with Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny pretty quickly, but you were beyond grateful you had made friends with Fleur as well. She has truly been the one keeping you calm and getting adjusted to Britain so far.
"Fleur! I'm glad to see you!" You smile, hugging her.
"Respire (take a breath/breathe). You'll be fine, I promise."
"Ahh, Je suis très nerveuse (Ahh, I am very nervous)." you admit. She gives you a small smile, noticing the worry in your face.
"Je sais (I know). just breathe."
You take a deep breath, watching her anxiously as she sends you a small smile.
"You will be fine. Je le jure (I swear)."
"Y/n, we better board the train soon if we want a good seat." George calls to you, nodding towards the train behind him.
"I'll be right there." You sigh, a smile playing on your lips as you watch the ginger twin you've become friends with.
"Y/n...Que penses-tu de lui (what do you think of him)?" Fleur asks you, taking notice of how much you've seemed to calm down while looking at him.
"Qui (who)? George?"
"Ah, oui." She says, as if it was obvious.
"Oh. Uh, Je ne sais pas. Je veux dire...Il est très mignon." (oh. Uh, I don’t know. I mean...he is very cute.)
She smiles, glancing back at Bill as she replies, "Je le savais (I knew it)!"
"Fleur! Shush. It's not like anything's going to come of it."
"I wouldn't be so sure, Y/n. Anyways, you need to get going! Bonne chance (good luck). You'll do great!"
You huff, frowning as Fleur shoves you towards the train and where George is standing. You adore her, but she sure is frustrating at times. How could she possibly think you have a chance with him?
He smiles when he sees you, grabbing your hand with his as he pulls you on to the train, barely giving you a chance to catch your balance from when Fleur pushed you.
~.~
"Tu es un idiot (you are an idiot), george." You sigh, shaking your head at the redhead as he makes a stupid joke.
"Hey!" he laughs, understanding what you said thanks to you teaching him a bit of French here and there.
After noticing how you spoke in french from time to time, George asked you to teach him just for fun. That and he kind of wanted to know what you were saying.
He truly enjoyed it too. He loved listening to you speak french and loved it even more when you complimented him on his pronunciation. He couldn't help but feel proud when you smiled at him because he finally understood a word or started pronouncing it right, either.
You two have become really close since you started teaching him, too. You could easily say that he was your closest friend here, but you would never complain about it. George was amazing to talk to and hang out with, always making you laugh and smile.
Although, as you had at Beauxbatons, you easily made friends here at Hogwarts. You might not have been close to any of them like you were with George, but you almost always had someone you could say hi to in the halls.
George was glad you could make friends so easily as he knew how anxious it had made you, but at the same time, he was a bit jealous. He's not sure why or when this happened, but he found himself not wanting to share you. He didn't want you being friendly with other guys, and he surely didn't want them being friendly with you.
George wasn't blind, nor was he dumb. He knew how attractive you were, having been taken aback when he first saw you that night at his house for dinner. He knew that others would find you attractive, especially since you were a new girl and had this beautiful accent. On top of that, you were just overwhelming charismatic. Not only were you kind, but you were brilliant and confident. You easily captured the attention of a room wherever you were, and maybe that's why George was so jealous. You were no longer his little secret, but rather a well-known personality among everyone.
"Are you ever nice to me?" he pouts, jokingly as you. You purse your lips in thought, following in the joking tone.
"Ehh, parfois (sometimes). I did teach you French if you remember correctly."
"That you did, ma lapine (my bunny). " he smiles, bumping his shoulder with yours.
~.~
"Yeah, if you'd ever like to study together, we could get together..."
George fumes as he watches Roger Davies shamelessly flirt with you. He knew this would start soon enough, but that doesn’t mean he'd like it. He's still jealous whenever some guy says hi to you, not that he has any right to, but he does.
As he watches you smile and agree with Davies, he can't help but start clenching his jaw together, absentmindedly grinding his teeth.
He should be the one you're talking to and flirting with, Not Davies nor anyone else. He should be the one to be bring a smile to your face and a laugh from your lips. He should be the one you're with, not anyone else.
In all reality, he's the one that fell for you first. Surely you have to see that. Or at least feel that. Otherwise why would you smile at him the way you do? Why would you spend your nights with him, even when you have Ginny and Hermione and your roommates to hang out with?
"Bonjour, mon amour (hello, my love)." you greet, having taken to calling him your love shortly after he started calling you his bunny.
"George? Qu'est-ce qui ne va pas?" (what’s wrong?)
You frown as he looks upset, angry. You can't recall him looking this angry over anything before. Sure you've only known him since July, but that's still a lot of time for you two to see each other in a number of emotional states.
You pout, eyes filled with concern as he wraps an arm around your shoulders, pulling you tight to his side before you start walking to merlin knows where.
"Hey, y/n, Ma lapine."
"yes, Qu'est-que c'est (what is it)?"
You watch as George leans down, lips barely ghosting over your ear. The only reason you know he's there is from his hot breath fanning over the crest of your ear. You gasp a little, trying to contain a shiver as you feel your heart rate quicken at his proximity. You've liked George practically since you met him, but you never expected anything to happen between the two of you. He's got your mind spinning right now, however, with his actions.
"George" You mumble, turning your head slightly towards him.
"Tu m'appartiens (you belong to me)." He nearly growls, your knees becoming weak at his statement.
"Pardon (sorry)? George, what-"
"Comprenez vous? Tu m'appartiens (Do you understand? You belong to me)." He states again, butterflies erupting in your stomach as your mind blanks to anything aside from him.
"Oui...Oui (yes), George. Je t'appartiens (I belong to you)." you answer, quietly, not quite believing what you're hearing. You belong to him? Please, that's a dream. A very, very, very pleasant dream.
"Good. I don't like seeing other guys flirt with you, and I don't like seeing you so friendly with them back. I like you, y/n. Je t'aime beaucoup (I like you a lot)."
"mon dieu (my god)." You sigh, your knees still weak and the desire to kiss him only intensifying with each passing second.
"You okay, ma lapine (my bunny)?"
"You will be the death of me, george weasley. I like you, too, and merlin I want to kiss you."
He chuckles, the sound melodic to your ears, as he leans closer to you with a smile resting on his lips.
"Yeah? Can you ask me that in French?"
"The death of me, weasley." You sigh, loving the soft chuckle coming from his lips.
"embrasse-moi, s'il te plait." (please kiss me)
"I really love when you speak French, darling." He smiles, a soft groan leaving his throat before he's pressing his lips to yours.
You smile against his lips, not quite believing this is real until he nips at your bottom lip, drawing a soft whine from your body and a blush to your cheeks.
"I really like you, George. I'm so glad we met when we did." You smile, looking up into his beautiful brown eyes once you pull away from the kiss.
"Me too, darling." He agrees, pressing a quick kiss to your lips again before suggesting you go find your friends, or at the very least get out of the halls before a teacher catches the two of you.
You can't help but smile as he slides his hand into yours as you walk, squeezing your hand gently as if he needed the reassurance that you were there and real. You honestly never expected to find a boyfriend when you moved, but you were quite happy with the chain of events that led you here.
Like the Back of My Hand
Remus Lupin x Reader | Fluff (and angst if you squint)
“Why were you out in the forest? You’re not trying to prank me are you?” “What? Never! We’ve given up trying to prank you, you always see them coming!”
| Masterlist |
Words: 2256 A/N: Bold is other people's thoughts (will make sense in the fic), also I’m not used to this weird post formatte thing [tumblr] has going on so I’m sorry about the strange paragraphing
Warning: Some swearing, very mild spice at the end, just kissing tho and angst some if you squint
Feedback is always appreciated! - Blue
Sometimes it was hard to walk around Hogwarts, with the mix of the verble talk, and the internal thoughts you could hear. When you're tired it’s even worse, like how you can’t concentrate on anything right now. You were a mix of hyper aware and completely unaware of everything around you.
Like how you have no clue what Remus is saying as he walks right next to you, but you know what that first year is hoping you’re having for dinner, and how she hates the girl she’s talking to.
You snap back to reality when Remus touches your shoulder, making you jump slightly, “You ok y/n? You’ve been really spacey all day” His eyebrows are frowned with a tight line of a concerned smile on his lips
“Oh yeah, I’m all good, just sleepy” You smile reassuring him, he didn’t believe you one bit but thought better to push it right now.
“I’m good, I promise!” Saying you were ‘fine’ or ‘ok’ told Remus you weren't ‘fine’ or ‘ok’ and in honesty, you were good, and you were sleepy, but you were also anxious, and overwhelmed. But he didn’t need to know that.
You looped your arm with his and continued to walk to the library together, the full moon was this Sunday, and you knew he liked to be with you when it was close, something about how calming you are, and how you always seem to know what to say to make him feel better around a moon.
He didn’t know how you knew what to do to help him leading up to and after a full, you treated him slightly different, never pushed him too much, but still made him rest more and remember to take care of himself. He had a tendency to forget about his general health and wellbeing around moons.
It seemed like Moony was also calmer around you. The day of the moon when the wolf was right under his skin, iching to get out. When his patience was running thin and he was snappy at people. When the wolf would cloud his mind during the day more. When he would almost growl at people (or the time he almost bit Peter for being so annoying)
You knew just what to say to get him to settle, often whispering things like “Just a little longer, wait a little longer for me” in his ear almost like you were talking to the wolf directly, he would give an almost unnoticeable nod and would settle.
It was only after a bit when Remus registered what you had said he would ask you about it; “What was it that you said earlier? About waiting a little longer?” “I don’t know what your talking about Rem”
He was a tad worried you knew about him being a werewolf, he hasn’t told you as he’s scared you will reject him and be scared of him.
Yet that was the last thing you would do, he meant way too much to you to let something like that push you apart. Plus, how can you judge someone for being ‘different’ when you were yourself?
The other marauders had been helping Remus think of some way to tell you about the wolf, Remus had been crushing on you for a while now, as long as you’d been crushing on him, so before anything could happen he wanted to tell you ‘So you could run if you wanted to’
You knew they’d made a plan but you didn’t know what it was. It was strangely refreshing to not be aware of everything going on.
“So uh, if you’re up to it, er me and the guys found this place in the forest awhile ago” During a moon “and I was wondering if you’d like to see it? It’s just really pretty and I think you’d like it...No pressure though! If you don’t want to it’s fine”
“I’d love to Remi” You smile as you two reached the library.
“Does tomorrow work for you?” “Perfect”
You originally went to the library to study, which you did, just not a lot. You ended up lying on the floor near one of the windows up the back, in the orange warmth of the sunset.
Remus’ head was in your lap, he had grabbed his favorite book from his bag, one you had given him for christmas in third year.
“Haven't you read that like a hundred times now?” You laugh and Remus smiled god I love her laugh. You didn’t try too hard to hide your blush. “It’s my favourite”
“Why’s that?” “Cause the main character reminds me of my favourite person” Cause the main character reminds me of you
“You’re so cute Remus Lupin” you say with a soft smile, scratching your fingers into a particular spot in his hair making him let out a happily content sigh.
That night you slept better than you thought you would.
You normally don’t sleep well, as you can hear your roommates (and sometimes the people sharing your wall) dreams which was very distracting when you're trying to shut off to sleep, but you were also very excited for the next day.
Having something be a mystery to you was new and for some reason made you giddy, see when you can read minds (even though you can’t control it and hate it) nothing is new to you, nothing is surprising.
Probably the worst is that you know what people think of you, you know when people are talking about you, how they think you're weird cause you’re always staring off into space, always seem bored, when you do tests you have to go to another room. Only a few staff members know about your little ability and don’t want you to cheat, even though you can’t help it.
You and Remus met up after breakfast, glad it was saturday so you could spend a lot of time together. As you walked together to the forest to the supposedly beautiful place, you joked and talked, being in the forest meant that you could only hear Remus, not first years talking shit about other people, just the sweet sounds of the forest and Remus’ voice.
“How long till we get there, my feet are dying” You jokingly pout making Remus chuckle “Not to far now, you really need to get your stamina up”
You roll your eyes and lightly shove him, quick react! he stumbled slightly, as the full moon was tomorrow he was almost rock solid and had to pretend that it made him stumble as it would any other day.
He steers you to a left turn “Ta da!” he smiles, it really was beautiful, a crystal clear pond with flowers all around, the trees were slightly denser and closer together, making it like a little pocket out of time
“Wow, Remi, this is really beautiful!” You gush with a bright smile. Best.Surprise.Ever.
“I’m glad you like it! Me and the guys found it last month” Ok, time to tell her, you can do this Remus “Why were you out in the forest? You’re not trying to prank me are you?” You playfully glare at him
“What? Never! We’ve given up trying to prank you, you always see them coming!” he plops to the ground, his legs straight out in front of him, leaning back on his hands.
You move and sit next to him leaning your head onto his shoulder, watching a stag drink from the pond ‘Hi James’ you think to yourself
“So um, the reason we were out here was…” He tails off taking a deep breath. Come on Remus just spit it out already you just wait patiently, knowing this is hard for him, telling people your biggest secret is a terrifying thing to do. “We were out here because, I’m a werewolf and they help me on full moons, to make sure I don’t kill anyone”
He tenses next to you, not looking at you as you lift your head off his shoulder Oh merlin she thinks I’m a monster this was a mistake but you don’t run away like he thought you would, you turn slightly and wrap your arms around his neck hugging him.
His eyes went wider for a moment before pulling you closer, wrapping his arms around your waist, burying his face into your shoulder and letting out slight sobs. But you just hold him rocking slightly and playing with his soft curls.
Even though Remus was literally crying, the air was so calm and still, the stag had bounded off somewhere ‘See you later, James’ he must have just been there to make sure nothing happened to Remus but now was ok giving us some space.
After a while his sobs stopped shaking his shoulders. “Thank you for telling me Remi” you say softly with a gentle smile, he pulls back from your shoulder to look into your eyes.
“Y-you’re not scared of me?” “I could never been scared of you, I couldn’t give a flying fruit flavored fuck that you’re a werewolf, cause you’re still my Remus” I’m her Remus, I’m still the same person to her
Remus gave a small yet delighted smile “Can I tell you another secret?” “I’d be offended if you didn’t tell me” you both smile
“I’ve fancied you since like third year” his cheeks started heating up, giving them a light tinge of pink
“Ok, my turn to share a secret?” He nodded, he could tell where it was going “I’ve liked you since third year too”
You both were smiling like goofs before he tackle hugged you, making you both fall back to the floor giggling and looking into each others eyes I wanna kiss her so bad right now
“Can I share one more secret? You have to know before anything else happens” Your smile fell slightly, Remus frowned “You can tell me anything, I’d be offended if you didn’t tell me” he echos your words, Considering I just told you I was a werewolf I doubt that it’s as bad
“Ok so, I can read minds” you cringed slightly, Remus just blinked a few times “I can’t control it, it’s just I can always hear what’s going on around me, every thought and feeling”
“S-so you knew? About me being a werewolf?” Remus moved off you sitting up ‘what have I done’ you just nod looking down, too ashamed to even look at his face “Did you know that I was taking you here?”
You take a deep breath “Being here has been the most amazing thing to happen to me in a long time, cause I had no clue that you were taking me here, it was quite exciting really” You give a small sad smile
“But I guess I ruined it all haven't I? This is why I don’t tell people cause they get freaked out, but in all honesty, I hate it! I hate knowing what people think and say about me, I hate knowing when a prank is coming” You take a deep breath.
“I hate that I’ve made you hate me” a single tear falls down your cheek
“Who says I hate you? I think your mind reading might be a little off because I don’t hate you” You finally look over to him
“You don’t?”
“No! I mean I’m not going to lie it’s a little scary to know you’ve known that I’ve had a crush on you, and the whole werewolf thing, but I actually think it’s kinda cool” He smiles, you smile back wiping your tears with the heel of your palm.
“Wait, is that why you always know what to say and do around moons!” he says with a shocked smile, you laugh a little and nod “Oh thank the founders! I thought someone had told you! Can I just say that you help so much around moons when the lil’ shit is being aggravating!”
You laugh with him, someone being almost excited that you’ve read their mind was new and refreshing,
“Whoa, everything makes so much sense now” He smiles at you, at genuin toothy grin that you can’t help returning, you end up giving into temptation and lean forward giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, making his cheeks go red.
“You’re so cute when you blush” you tease, he scrunches up his nose a bit before tackling you again, cageing you between his arms, he looks into your eyes I wonder how she looks when she blushes.
You raise an eyebrow at him “Have you already forgotten what I just told you” he just jokingly glares at you, a slight mischievous look in his eyes before leaning down and placing kisses all over your face as you giggle “Remi, sto-o-op”
“Alright, but can I kiss you here?” he takes one hand and touches your lips, now it’s your turn to blush
“Yes, please” Moving his hand away he leans down and gives you a very quick kiss to your lips
“Again?” you pout slightly, he smirks “You’re adorable” he kisses you again, this time not pulling away.
Bonus:
Sirius and James are standing behind a tree smirking at their ‘shy’ friend being a smug tease “We’re so good” Sirius whispers high fiving James
You pull away from Remus for a moment, calling out to them “I can hear you!” the two animagi’s eyes widen while you and Remus just laugh before he kisses you again.
