Xingqiu sat up properly, making Chongyun’s head snap back to the other. There was a brief moment of silence as they stared into each other’s eyes. Xingqiu’s heart skipped a beat as he mustered up the courage to speak, “Can I kiss you, Chongyun?”

If Chongyun’s face wasn’t red before, it definitely was now. His sparkling eyes went wide in surprise, a hand shyly covering his mouth. Chongyun seemed to contemplate on this for a few moments, Xingqiu’s grip on his hand loosening once he was starting to realise that maybe he had asked a little too soon. Chongyun was quick to grab onto Xingqiu’s hand once again, pressing it against his chest. Xingqiu’s breath hitched - the other’s heartbeat was so quick, it really felt like his heart was about to explode out of his chest. Chongyun’s touch was surprisingly so cold, maybe all of the blood had rushed to his face.

Xingqiu opened up his mouth to apologise, but Chongyun beat him to it.

“Yes, you can kiss me,” a small smile filled Chongyun’s face, and Xingqiu thought he had fallen in love all over again. Chongyun was letting him kiss him.

Xingqiu approached Chongyun carefully, grabbing his chin gently and lifting his face up. A little whine of embarrassment left the other’s lips, which looked so enticing right about now. Xingqiu wanted to dive in and let them be one much more than anything. Chongyun’s gaze met Xingqiu's own one, and now here they were - inches apart. The slightest bit of movement would interlock them together, Xingqiu realised.

Xingqiu grinned sheepishly, despite how nervous he was feeling, “Is this going to be your first kiss?”

Chongyun didn’t answer, he just nodded his head because he knew his voice wouldn’t come out properly if he tried talking. He realised his hands were shaky as they held Xingqiu’s ones impossibly closer to his chest. Xingqiu slid them from underneath Chongyun’s hands, and placed them on top. Gently, Xingqiu squeezed Chongyun’s hands and rubbed the pads of his thumbs along the other’s soft skin, as if to reassure him.

“That’s alright,” Xingqiu’s breath ghosted over Chongyun’s lips, “it’ll be my first, too.”

Like I get why people would be obsessive about their fav ship, but it drives me crazy that destiel folks genuinely can’t see the reality of the situation: there was absolutely no intention to imply cas was gay or had romantic feelings for Dean- by Misha or the writers- prior to his death scene. It just wasn’t a thing. At all. In fact, they actively contradicted it often.

And then in his last scene they decided to do a lame purposefully ambiguous ‘I love you’ speech that could both pander to the rabid fans and satisfy the writers’ original platonic intentions at the same time. That’s it. It wasn’t confirmed, it wasn’t canonised- and that was on purpose. They wanted it to be vague and up for interpretation so they could get brownie points from both sides. That’s a fact.

So it’s cool to argue that destiel is a legitimate interpretation of canon, but to argue that it’s the one and only true interpretation of canon is just flat out wrong. It’s so frustrating.

i am under the very firm belief that destiel was NEVER supposed to happen. everything that ever pandered to destiel was just because of the fans. it was to make the shippers happy, not because of what the characters were supposed to be. (and NO, cas telling dean he loves him doesnt make it canon. one sided i can agree, but its not canon. “dean wanted to say it back!” NO HE DIDNT?) but samdean was always ALWAYS supposed to be endgame. platonically or otherwise, this is THEIR show. (i dont really like people calling cas the third main character too. he wasnt created with the intention of being important. BUT i do like him as a character. i AM glad he stuck around, but people really over-inflate it all. thats all a conversation for a different day though). since the very beginning, sam and dean have been insane for each other. and that never changed. theyre SOULMATES for fucks sake. there is infinitely more evidence for wincest than any other ship in the show could ever conceive. people calling sam a third wheel to destiel is so fucking delusional imo. salmondean is always the duo and everyone else is secondary to them. they always leave anyone they do get involved with for each other. ship destiel if you want, its cute, but understand it is NOT real. your perceptions of characters do not affect the show.
