honestly i still can't believe they described 8x06 are bucktommy going through "hurdles." hey oliver. oliver stark. hey oli. quick question: have you.... ever done track and field? have you ever leapt over a hurdle? because... that's what you do. you leap over hurdles and you clear them. they're obstacles in the way that you get over. what part of this was a hurdle? this wasn't a hurdle. this was bucktommy leaping over a hurdle, slamming it's leg into the metal frame, and then falling face-first into a pit of knives.

Fascinating to me how gmmtv is mostly like "friends who happen to make out" while DMD is just straight up ride or die hoes. They either have a messy break up or end up getting married

Pope Francis removed him for being ridiculously and virulently hateful toward the LGBT and other minority communities, going so far as to say they don't belong in the Church--the Church Pope Francis is currently endeavoring to make safer and more welcoming to these folks.

The misleading part has nothing to do with whether or not it's legal by secular standards. The misleading part is the implication that this was some sort of arbitrary and unreasonable move instead of a rogue bishop who preached hate facing consequences for his actions.

The man was a menace, and this level of disciplinary action is the least he deserves.

in the past i’d get whiplash over how much things haven’t changed and how frustrating that is and today i’m reading all these articles on cafes and shops in old strathcona in the 90s and this is dating myself certainly but the fact that i read things like “oh yeah this is the first non-smoking tim hortons in alberta and the second in western canada!” makes me double take so much

im about to have the hypest theology class of my life im actually super excited

im sorry to say this girlies but i think museums are boring for the most part!! 😭😩

Okay, so when people try to speak on BIPOC's involvement in queer history, it is often simplified into just being about individual people like Marsha P. Johnson. While I am never going to say we should talk less about Marsha, I think it would be worth exploring more how BIPOC have a queer history of their own and often it's outside of just the context of the United States of America.

Prioritizing certain stories from QTBIPOC, can slip fairly quickly into erasure. So here is a reminder: colonial powers benefit when we only focus on individuals and erase the long complex queer histories of cultures that have been colonized. Cultures and communities that have been colonized deserve space in our discussions of queer history.

Maybe next time you hear someone boil down queer BIPOC's impact on the queer culture to the same short list of names, maybe question that. Challenge yourself to learn about lesser known stories, and even try to open yourself up to learning about cultural histories of queerness rather than just reading stories that are individual based.
