This is a book that I bought in 2002, when it was newly published. I misplaced it for a couple of decades and then found it in a box in my parents' house last year.

It is... incredible, to start rereading this book that was so influential for me and is somehow more than 20 years old. To read introductions from people who experienced the gender politics of the 50s and 60s and learned and grew and saw so much evolution in their lifetimes.

It feels sad, too, to read about the same LGBTQIA+ infighting that we still see. It feels melancholy to read about times when maybe there was less of that. I love seeing the hope for better things, and I worry that perhaps we have not done well enough in these last two decades.

In her introduction, Joan Nestle says, "Think of the richness of the conversation 50 years from now, if we survive the present world."

did this as a quick scribble at like 1 AM last night and...immediately lost all motivation to ever clean it up. ( ᐛ ) but I had to draw my son being the fanciest little flower boy who ever threw petals down an aisle. oh my god.

Ever think about trueform sukuna becoming a father unintentionally, and when he sees his child for the first time, he is taken aback by how normal it is? No extra appendages, not a single deformed bone in its body. Just a normal child, cradled by its loving, doting mother. Do you ever think about how relieved he would feel? Maybe envious? Do you ever think about how it could possibly make him rethink his whole identity? A curse couldn't possibly be capable of creating a child so normal and healthy.

Do you ever think he reminisces to his own mother when he sees you? Your face glowing with pride and happiness, the way his mother's never did. Would you have loved your child if it was burdened with a curse, the same as him? With the way he's seen you kiss the right side of his face, he thinks you would.

Do you ever think about how he'd feel when his child holds onto his massive index finger with its tiny hand? To think that such a small, fragile thing contains half of his blood in it. His genes. His features. How small. How helpless...

To think that something so innocent was birthed as a result of his seed. Do you think his soul would quiver? Change its shape? Could he give his child the love it needs from him?

I think he could...

It wouldn't be perfect. But there's no such thing as a perfect parent in this world.

Danny’s ghost sense has been… weird.

It keeps going off at school without any ghosts being nearby. It does still alert him of the his typical adversaries, but at other times there’s just… nothing there. No ghost to fight.

And it can’t just be Amorpho in disguise, either; Danny has confirmed that they aren’t in the area. Nor are there any new faces that could be a ghost in disguise like Spectra had done.

At first, he assumes it must be a random power/control issue—he’s certainly had those before—but it keeps happening and Frostbite’s scans come back normal.

He can’t stand it. He starts making maps/notes of everything around him every time it happens to try to find any commonalities.

Eventually, he does. It seems like every “false positive” has gone off around a certain student (or at least weren’t confirmably not nearby). It was surprising—sure, he wasn’t close with them, but he hadn’t noticed anything amiss. If they’ve been replaced or possessed, the ghost is doing a very good job blending in. But even if they aren’t openly causing chaos, he can’t just let a possibly dangerous ghost go.

So he confronts the student as Phantom.

And they promptly break down sobbing.

They’d died, but came back as a ghost and decided to hide their corpse and pretend like nothing happened.

Danny… has no idea how to respond.

Imo the best ending to Supernatural would have been to just stop with them alive on a random hunt or them finding jobs and living the life they just wanted or whatever.

And then the story just fucking STOP, because Chuck is not here anymore, so they are no longer part of a story they are finally free. And we could still write and read fanfic about how they live after they won.

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.
