#right so this has nothing to do with this poll but uh i saw misty and hard time and acted reflexively and now i have to talk about this#there is a reason why i have a visceral reaction here so let me explain#When i was a little girl watching pokemon ash had really started to get on my nerves#i didn't like his attitude.#i mean like he was arrogant wasn't he? he was.#i rmr getting increasingly annoyed bc he never loses and that just felt unnatural right but also like does he earn this?#does he really? or does he just scream about how cool he is and have tantrums#i just had my doubts about this kid#i really wanted to see him lose tbh#not even bc i hated him but bc like it was time#i felt this very strongly as a little 9 year old or something idr#like i was basically just watching the show for misty and brock at some point cos ash was really trying me by then right#anyway just as my irritation with him was coming to a peak i tune in one day and its the old one where the gym leaders are misty's sisters#and i was like YAAAAY MISTY#and she has sisters! and they're all gym leaders! how cool but scary right older sisters are not easy#but damn misty is finally gonna come into her own now#a moment of glory for misty here and it's in her home town! the significance! the meaning!#proving herself to her fam!#and she was gonna win against ash ya know making a more dynamic relationship between them and keeping the group interesting! what fun#and what a big moment right!#wrong#bc guess who gets the badge at the end#at her own family's gym. her home town. and her friend got the badge.#imagine the humiliation.#and like why though? misty is also really good at this she has the same experience as ash and it's HER HOME TURF#wouldn't it make SENSE that this battle would go her way?? using water pokemon her speciality? no? oh ok#that's cool i get it show#ash is god right? fuck the rest of us#i. fucking. hated it so much i never watched pokemon again#true story

Also have another “first words spoken to you are on your skin” soulmate AU idea where Kara is a journalist assigned to shadow the controversial CEO of L-Corp for the day. It’s a big deal for her to get this assignment, so of course she trips the second she’s near the other woman and tries awkwardly to redeem herself.
The CEO stares at her almost in shock, and then says nothing. At all. Ever, for the entire day.
Kara spends hours following Lena Luthor around trying to fill the silence, but no amount of questions get her to talk. Lena almost seems to be running away at some points - like she’s trying to lose her? - and the few times she’s managed to catch her actually talking to someone she goes silent the second she sees Kara.
She asks around if Miss Luthor is usually like this and everyone looks at her like she’s crazy. Apparently she’s the only one who gets the silent treatment. By the end of her first day shadowing she’s walking away with half a page of observations and not a single quote. Miss Grant is going to kill her.
But that’s okay. It’s fine, this isn’t over. She has four days of shadowing ahead of her and she’ll be damned if she doesn’t finish this with a quote from the woman herself. It’s only a matter of time.

Man “Battle Nexus: New York” was a great episode but I do have one major gripe with it.
Like. Raph being paired up with Ghostbear? Makes sense. Works great. Works amazing, even.
Mikey being paired up with Meatsweats? Yeah that checks out!!
Donnie getting…Hypno…? I mean. I guess Donnie doesn’t like magic so it kindaaa works but Kendra would have been a much better choice to me personally. Maybe Big Mama didn’t wanna include a human or something…
And Leo getting…uh…one of the Sando Brothers???? Of all villains? Nah let’s be real, his main villain is more Big Mama herself (or Leo could be considered his own worst enemy lmao-). Hell Hypno would have probably worked better here considering their shared love for magic tricks and stuff, but Carl Sando????

Okay but do you think the people who were really close to odysseus during the Trojan war had a running bet for when odysseus claimed to have a vision from Athena if it was true or not? Because half the time he was just lying about that.

They weren't listening to him#B. They were being stupid annoying#C. He felt like it#D. For a personal vendetta to get revenge on one of his comrades#This is a big part of why I'm headcanoning eurylochus thinking ody was lying about being athenas student in my precanon stuff#The other commanders (plus euro and polites) having bets on if this vision was real#Diomedes is judge because he's also in contact with Athena but what the others have not realized#Is that diomedes is also a shit head and does not have many opportunities to get back at his bullies#So while he does get confirmation from Athena he does just also straight up lie to the others to suit his own agendas#And nobody was more than mildly offended by odysseus doing this because unlike everybody else's visions (excluding dios)#It was generally the right call to make and the gods actually imparting wisdom instead of fucking with them to be dicks#And if it wasn't it was generally of either a. No consequences either way or b. Still the right strategic call#Everybody after odysseus had them reorder the camp to frame that one guy and then took way to much pleasure in stoning him to death:#So he made up that vision from Athena right? He definitely did that just to kill this guy yes?#Agamemnon: obviously but while we all liked that guy better odysseus is the better strategic so we're going to let it slide

So I went to an early screening for the first two episodes of the Percy Jackson show yesterday (Saturday), and let me just say, it is 100% the adaptation we deserve. It was amazing. Once it ended, I wanted more.
The characterizations were amazing, any changes there were made sense and made the situation more realistic and added tension, the story was straight from the book, it was just amazing.
I went with my mom and she, who doesn't know the books, really enjoyed it. I asked her how she liked it (literary just the first two episodes) compared to Harry Potter (which i had her watch a few years back), and she said there was no contest. She likes the pjo show much more. She said it was engaging and even had her wanting the next episode once it was done.
Everyone needs to watch this show. It was amazing. It lives up to the hype. We need to make sure it gets greenlit for season 2.

IDK if I'm phrasing this correctly, but in my brain, Vasco is, like, the personification (caninification?) of an afternoon chilling on a back porch swing.

#ah#that's adorable#I can totally imagine him doing that#answered#anonymous#Vasco#to me he usually conjures the feeling of being warmed by sunlight#winters in northern Finland where I'm from tend to be pretty rough at least for me they are#they last about six months or so#sun starts to set earlier and earlier until it gets dark before 2 pm#in december the sun barely rises at all it's like this brief moment of twilight at noon between two 22+ hour nights#it gets harder to wake up in the morning and your energy levels plummet you go into battery saving mode#polar night messes up your brain seasonal depression gets really bad#and the cold and dark goes on and on and you feel like you'll never feel warm or happy or properly awake again#but eventually it starts to veer towards spring and on one day you notice that the sun is shining??!?!#not like bleakly and weakly but proper sunlight with warm hue and capability to actually warm the things it touches#you've forgotten what it looks like when it's truly light outside#and it's the craziest feeling to see bright natural light it blinds you and pierces right through into your very core#being kissed by the sun for the first time in months feels unreal it feels SO GOOD#I don't know it's probably not that big of a deal for people around me#but I personally react to things like changes in temperature and the amount of daylight pretty massively#I like to think that Vasco is a first ray of sunlight hitting you after you've spent what feels like an eternity in someplace cold and dark

MY GIRLS THEYRE TAKING MY GIRLS AWAY FROM ME!#like its been a part of my daily routine for like a year and half now... im not gonna know what to do with myself#i really cant stand all the people being like HAHA EAT SHIT AND DIE GACHA GAME#like i will not defend the gacha aspect. i wish it it did not have to be a gacha. i acknowledge gacha games as a concept suck#but like relive wasnt some souless cash grab gacha game#the writers clearly had real passion for what they were doing. they had stories to share with us in the revue starlight universe#and sadly the way things are shitty gacha game was how they were able to make it possible#and truly it had such amazing stories. like. theres no media quite like rev star. a complete cast of female characters#all of them complex and flawed and getting to have big messy feelings!! and fighting eachother with magic swords about those feelings!!#all the different relationships between them love and rivalry and friendships and sisterhoods all complicated and fleshed out#LIKE IT JUST MEANT MUCH TO HAVE THE STEADY STREAM OF COMPELLING STORIES ENTIRY FOCUSED ON GIRLS#and now its going to be gone. i know theres still all the other revstar medoa and hope they keep doing stuff with the francise#i hope we see the frontier and rinmeikan girls again someday. they honestly had the most moments that made my jaw drop#onward to the next stage#right?#anyways do you get it talent show lol cause theyre stage performers
