Hey! I've been obsessed with Elisabeth: das Musical for a good while and one of the things I really like about it is the way it comments on Sissi-media. However, Im saying that as someone who really only knows about that media through cultural osmosis and hasnt really seen any of it. And since I'm gonna have a bunch of free time the next few weeks, I thought it would be interesting to watch all* the media about Elisabeth I can get my hands on and review it and just talk about my thoughts on it. I'm also gonna watch all* the Rudolf media I can find as part of this little project because, I might as well

*by 'all media' I mostly mean stuff like movies, series and stageplays, obviously I know there's books but I'm not really in a place where I can focus on reading a bunch of stuff, but I know that the trilogy is based on books, and if I can find free audiobooks online I'll listen to those

I also want to give a quick disclaimer that I'm not a history person, I know very little about all this, so I'm not gonna get too much into the historical accuracy of any of these pieces. I mean, maybe this whole thing will get me to do research into the actual history, I actually have been wanting to do that more since Ive started engaging with the Elisabeth das Musical fandom and seen all these people talk about how much reasearch they do for fanfics and stuff, and its making me feel a little left out ngl, but I struggle with actually doing that for reasons I dont really want to get into. Long story short, if I dont approach historical topics very carefully Im gonna end up with horrible intrusive thoughts that last for days, and I'd like to avoid that but I need to figure out how to do that first.

hi back again ! sorry for my small absence, my school year just finished and testing is approachin & ive been very stressed ☹️

but this time its gonna be about sanji (like the last two were supposed to) this is actually kind of angsty,, um,,, whoopsie

-i have a hc that during wholecake when sanji was with his family he was actually regressin. i dont think he was fully regressed but definitely wasnt fully big the entire time. please tell me you understand what im gettin at here. the amount of stress he must have been dealin with, unfortunately he needed to cope somehow, kind of angsty i know, but sanji fully regressin the second hes safe and with his crew again, and luffy (and the crew) just being there to help him (they didnt leave his side for hours)

-sanji is the straw hats resident baby like i said in a previous ask i believe that him and luffy regress the youngest, both needin the most care and attention out of everyone else in their straw hats agere universe. hes not as clingy as luffy, but will get fussy if someones not with him

Okay onto headcanons now~

~Sanji kind of teetering between headspaces is so real. Not feeling safe enough to fully regress but also his brain pushing him to be small because he’s upset and usually being small means getting comfort. He would probably crash and burn for days after once it finally hits him that he’s safe. Practically drunk of off familiarity of his crew.

While I am kind of aware of whole cake I’m not up that point in the anime, if I was I would give you a better comment, but alas :<

~The resident baby prince. Ahhh I love him so much. First thing I thought of is Sanji being sat in the corner with a blanket and some toys content to play by himself, but the moment whoever is watching over him leaves it’s instantly tears and crying. Object permanence who? If the baby can’t see his crew they therefor must have disappeared and left him and he is going to be sad about it forever. Never to be consoled agai- oh wait never mind they’re back now. All is right with the world.

~Usopp watching over anyone would have a blast. Let’s be honest- it’s Usopp. Something about him just screams caregiver coded.

~Okay but Sanji calling Robin “mama” promptly realizing what he’s said because Robin is so shocked she’s not responding, he’s not about to stick around and find out what she thinks of the accidental nickname, and going to stress bake for hours <- the best idea ever. ~I’ll raise you one. Calling up Zeff but it keeps happening when Sanji is looking after regressors. The phrase “I’m telling!” gives Sanji a near heart attack. The ex pirate has gotten used to getting calls from little straw-hats, so imagine his shock when it’s Sanji regressed and calling.

These weren’t too different I would say. Besides I absolutely adore angst just as much as I love fluff. Like let the baby’s suffer a bit >:3

I think those people who hold what Carlos’ parents do against him are mostly the same group of people who hate Carlos on principle, nitpicking everything he does or says 🤷‍♀️ I imagine they want to be bullies in real life but are too afraid of consequences so they resort to social media to live out their mean girl fantasies online where you can say anything without any repercussions (unless you’re a celeb I guess). It’s the sad reality we live in. He gets hate when he’s realistic in interviews about ferrari’s results which somehow means he doesn’t have a champion mentality, but when he says he wants to win - he’s totally delusional. Like, pick a struggle, people haha. Or like drama the other day, that he hasn’t been a Ferrari fan since birth therefore isn’t as worthy of support as Charles. Just all these stupid things that make my head explode every time I see it. Why would anyone waste their time posting obsessively about someone they don’t like? I will never understand.

Again, I’m not talking about all Charles fans of course, just those hardcore stans that dedicate their socials to Carlos hate more than to supporting their fav. I like to believe that in a couple of years they’ll look back on what they were doing and be ashamed and learn to never do it again to anyone, celeb or not.

vace is v fun bc even post therapy he’s still kind of The Way He Is you know. (in the pringles jar) and i think on the surface someone who’s easy-going is the easy solution but i don’t think someone who isn’t driven would appeal to him at all? so rather than easy-going it’s like... someone who doesn’t hold what he does against him

i do think it’s extremely funny if at first he dates people who are very much like rex and sol (assuming golden run where he and rex make up wwww) and then later on the person he ends up w/long term is Not Like That. these two things were essentially my thesis statement in making lin  WWWWWWWW

lin is essentially like. i don’t care if you fuck up. i do however care if you just leave the mess behind and in fact i care about that Very Fucking Much, Do Not Do It. a non-therapized vace appeals to him 0 percent past looks. a post therapy vace who is constantly fucking up but trying about it? very much his type. good together for a number of reasons. lin helps vace when he’s upset bc he tends to focus immediately on “how do we fix this” (robotics guy) which helps vace channel his shit productively. open + good communicator mostly bc he thinks being cagey is annoying. v good at framing rship conflict as “him and vace against smth else”. 

on the flipside, vace being so emotive is like... kind of fascinating for him (guy who has Never Once been swept away). helps him get better at empathizing with other ppl + be more patient (lol). also on a practical level lin is not. great at taking care of himself (does basically the bare minimum to keep himself going) and mr i wanna protect the ppl i love! olivaceous is like. you are going to eat three meals a day actually.

I want to hear from your experience and I have a few questions, but I'll try to be organized and ask one thing at a time. As you read a little earlier, I wrote a simple dialogue between 2 characters, but I feel like creating a conversation between more people next time, like 4 or 5 soldiers.

My question is: What tip can you share on this matter? ʕ ´• ᴥ•ʔ Thank you!

This can be approached from different angles. Of course the tips can be combined endlessly. If thats not enough though i can always share more, haha. Or explain things further if there are misunderstandings. Lets see:

The commentating period: a basic topic is given by somebody (for example: what happened last time at the battlefield, what news they got from command etc.) and others share their brief opinions on it (in short reactions for having room for others). This is a great way to shine standalone personalities and establish their dynamics maybe even the world building. For starting, its a fine method since it already brings the characters significantly closer to the reader.

Listen and join: two characters have a conversation, while the others are there to listen, sometimes reacting to it with gestures and random comments (this can be from jokes to complete explanations (like: why they dont like X/thing and why it is bad for everything overall). Actual turning points can be dropped in any place you would like: this means a third, a fourth or even more can join and continue the flow of the current speaking matter. There can be even the opportunity to turn it into something very serious that has an impact on the main story (for example: a sector is under siege but the current losing matter can mean the end of the operation). This can be not only story based but emotion based as well.

Tension with tearing: its mostly disagreement based, meaning the characters will have clashing opinions on a certain thing and this will cause tension between them. This can be very light, almost joke like to them (meaning only little) to moderate where the segregation is there (since the opposites are strong) but barely felt by the members and others (for the sake of friendship/anything). Or, this can actually turn into a full blown verbal fight where already building up emotions and bursts immediately polarise the group. The last one is for "extreme" story circumstances where stakes are high, while the previous two are again for character dynamics and simple story establishments (for example: a hard choice was made by someone from the command chain (like: saving people or continuing the offense) and some members agree with it while others take it as a failure since this causes more problems then solves).

Drop, say, repeat: its pretty much jumping from one place to another while (almost) everybody takes their "parts". It can be done randomly (when the possibility of the impact is low on the story) with leading pathways (fabricated to later on turn it into something much more important with the element of surprise). Very very basic example: 1: "The weather wasnt too bad yesterday" -> 2: "Yeah, i heard from X while flying out there they had no problems during the docking, at least the duststorm has settled for now" -> 3:"Last time i was there, i thought im gonna go blind i had so much dust in my eyes" -> 4:"Really? You think the dust is the problem here? Have you seen what they did at Y location?" -> 5:"Poor bastards didnt see it coming. Some came back though...". Okay, mine is not the strongest, but gets the point through 😂😂I hope this can help

Hey, I've had this sitting in my inbox for a bit and I think I should address it for a couple of reasons. This is going to be lengthy as fuck and a little disorganized.

1) What you do on the internet, stays on the internet forever.

2a) You don't need to comment on everything.

2b) And if you comment on something, you don't need to do it immediately without thinking.

3) You're gonna mess up, we all have, and we all do. People will react badly. You will react badly. That's how we all learn.

I think this is SO important for y'all (general) to grasp, especially if you are a minor right now. I understand the desire to interact online for the immediate feedback, as quickly as possible, as often as possible. That's dangerous to do.

For that first point, you (anon specifically) sent this anonymously, so I think you want to keep your blog unattached to this, but you previously replied twice to my other post about it. Even though you deleted it, I still was able to read what you said, and know it was you who said it. The whole thing happened in a matter of minutes of me posting.

I cropped out your name, but yeah that's still at least partially visible in my activity feed. The first reply said something along the lines of "alright alright sorry, this was mine i guess i didnt think it was bad or deserved such a response but im a teenager so what do i know i get it ill just never send an ask again" And the second reply, sent maybe 90 seconds afterward, "and of course i didnt mean this ask in a bad way i wasnt disagreeing with you im sorry im sorry im sorry"

Okay, the context here is in these three posts. One where I said something about my divorce, this ask I answered about it, and this second ask regarding my answer. Basically, I said my depression is spiking because of my divorce, someone asked if my partner dumped me to which I was like wtf, and then someone sent an ask saying that maybe the other anon didn't get it but at least they weren't mean about it.

Even though that last bit happened in maybe 3 in real life minutes, and you deleted it, it still existed and I still read it. I wasn't even particularly LOOKING for something like that. It just popped up in my activity notes. I don't know if anyone else could/did see it. I don't think it was a bad response per se, but you obviously thought about it and decided that you didn't want your name attached to it, but it was already there.

On the second point A, ohhh my god. I mean this in the nicest possible way (exasperated, directed partly at your specific part in this, but mostly Youth in general), stay in your lane. You are a teenager. You should not have commented on my post about a 10 year relationship ending, saying essentially "talk to me about it" because you are a teenager! The relationship existed for more than half of your current age!

This is nothing against you as a person, but you don't have any experience here. You have nothing to offer in this situation. ESPECIALLY if what you tried to offer is a "listening ear". NO. I grew up being the one my parents vented to about marriage issues, and it is so highly inappropriate to dump that on a child, and it is highly inappropriate (however well intentioned!) for YOU to even offer.

You could not even handle the way I reacted to your question. What would you have done if I had started listing the devastating details of my divorce and how it has fucked me up? You flipped at my strong response, and that wasn't even my first response or even truly accurate to the furious, visceral emotions I felt. You almost immediately had to reply. And then reply again. And then reply again. And THEN you thought about it?

Leading to the second point B, take a moment to think about it. Take several moments, preferably. This kind of goes back to you being young (your brain still developing, lack of experience, etc etc), so it's important to repeat this. Think about it, and think through it. I said something about I shouldn't do the critical thinking for you, and that wasn't entirely fair of me. I know how little we (adults, teachers, society) actually do towards teaching critical thinking, so that's not all on you. But if you've got to write out a response to something on the internet, think about:

Do I need to say anything at all? (Am I qualified to, is what I say relevant, why do I feel the need to?)

What kind of answers could I possibly get?

What am I going to do about the reactions I get?

How would I feel if the roles were reversed?

Do I really need to say anything?

Yes, this takes a lot more time than just "thought thought thought words words words send ask" and that's the point! I've got gripes with internet culture being all about the here and right now this very second, but I don't want to go into all that right now. Someone's made another post about it I'm sure.

I actually like the fact that you deleted your replies and sent in this ask several more minutes after the fact. That shows that you did literally take some more time to think about it. That was good flexing of your critical thinking. Please continue to think through how you behave on the internet, and try to do it before someone is mean about it first.

Finally that last point, we all mess up and it is inevitable. You messed up, and you know it. I'm glad that it happened here in a relatively innocuous situation and platform. I know people on like, Twitter, get absolutely eviscerated for less. I still react badly to things, but at least on the internet I can moderate that. It's harder in real life to work through all the feelings you get in the moment, but at least on the internet I don't have to visibly show the stages of processing. I'm trying to give others the benefit of the doubt as much as I can. However, I'm still just a person. I'm going to mess up still, but I do what I can so I mess up less often and less severely.

1. To the one anon: good question - how is it that the mortals dont know who Persephone is / assume she is a minor goddess and therefore its okay to mess with her but the gods (or Olympians / underworld denizens) know exactly everything about her (despite her being there only every so often and only being 20ish) - enough to say shes "wearing her signature white color" during a murder trial.

Also the reason why Persephone is wearing white is because

A). RS wanted persephone to always be "dressed as a bride" (and have Hades dressed as a groom respectively) to show that their matching / is supposed to be a visual cue that their eventually gonna be together.

B). I believe this is RS way of saying that Persephone (despite murdering some mortals) is innocent because in purity culture White = innocence, virginity, youth etc. (Even though RS explicity ssid she wanted to go against purity culture morals shes very much leaning into them).

I understand LO qualifies as the "romance" genre and there are certain stipulations or I guess themes or what have you that make it romance but for f*cks sake.

Psyche being worried about Eros loving the "fake" her I kinda get, but really? Thats your most pressing concern?? Hera is defined by her garbage marriage to Zeus - King of the gods (of which is why she is Queen of the gods). Hestia + Athena are now defined solely by their relationship to each other (not the TGOEM or their respective traits of being a goddess of the hearth + goddess of war, strategy etc etc).

Aphrodite is defined by giving Persephone "relationship" advice (e.g: telling her to curb stomp Minthe because "nymphs dont take things from gods" - doubly implying that people are things to own) And by her jealousy of Persephone in the first place because Hades made a comment about how he thought Persephone was prettier than her. And also because of her "house of debauchery" (Artemis'  words) - and relationship with Ares.

Persephone is defined both by Apollo raping her and by her fated future status as Queen of the underworld (so her relationship with Hades). Hell, even the minor characters such as nymphs are defined by this relationship status / standard. Minthe is defined by her mean spirited personality yes, but Also because of her abusive relationship with Hades prior to the introduction of Persephone. Psyche is defined by her relationship woes with Eros. Daphne is defined by her relationship with Thanatos (and because shes a flower nymph) but also mostly because she looks like Persephone.

Rhea is defined by her marriage / relationship to Kronos (lets ignore the whole "fertility goddess power" plot for a second). Even Aetna is defined by Haphestus creating her! Is there not a single character (especially female) is isnt defined by their romantic love interest???Sorry. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but thats definitely how ot comes off as of late, in regard to the latest chapters.

Okay, same anon as earlier - I take it back somewhat - we have Artemis and Hecate that are not defined by their romantic relationships - but rather their lack of one.

However the way they are shown - it still comes off as a standard - "Artemis is stingy / a stick in the mud" because shes not romantically involved and is "barbaric" (according to Hera). And Hecate is still somewhat defined by her being Hades' employee (and cheerleader for him and Persephone to be together).

So technically yes, we have at least 2 characters that are not defined by their romantic interests / relationships, but they are still held to the standard of their "un-ladylike / undesirable" because their not romantically involved.

(I guess I should count Demeter, but only because shes more defined by just being "Persephone's overbearing mom" )

8. love that rachel was able to find a random deity name to name her random nymph the greek word for "beans" meanwhile apparently cant google actual greek names for even one off characters? like andrew, ellen, george, alexis, damian, luke, phoebe, sophia, and so any other english names are also greek, but she cant even bother with that? what exactly is her "research" if she cant even bother to spend 30 seconds googling greek names? at this point LO seems determined to be as un-Greek as possible.

9. wait so everyone in LO went from having no idea who persephone was, to her only showing up on ONE magazine cover, to now being the most well known person with a signature color? all in the span of two weeks with no genuine public outings? how does that make sense? also white isnt even her signature color if 90%+ the female cast and even a lot of the men ((including ZEUS) all wear it too.

10. the fact the courthouse WASNT the areopagus, aka the place in greece where they say the first ever trial ever happened and where the court system was invented, is just another point of rachel talking out her ass about being "respectful" or "researched" on greece and their mythology. its literally one of the most famous mythology spots ever with some fantastic stories to it and she's just like "nah! boring rectangle will do!" like why even both with mythology then if its this devoid of it?

I kinda get where RS is coming from with the law school in the underworld (because Hades is supposed to be a kinda Judge, jury, executioner situation in the afterlife when it comes to mortals and their "punishments" and whatnot). However, is RS stating that the ONLY law school / courthouse exists in the underworld? If so, why? Why wouldn't Athena be there then. She's a goddess of strategy and justice (among other things).

Also is RS really implying that Hades owns not only the banks and underworld but the law too? She really wants Hades to be a Gary Sue along side her Mary Sue - Hades controls everything that matters and since its his realm and blah blah blah rules, Zeus, king of the gods cant do anything about it.

(Which is dumb. Because you would think that because Persephone committed the crime in the mortal realm / on, or near Olympus that therefore she would be brought back there to dole out justice under Zeus jurisdiction because she committed the crime in His Realm).

14. i dont really get the point of the trial plotline, tbh. even persephone says she should be punished and held accountable, but hades is framed in the right for trying to go against that and weasel her out of it. so?? plus zeus has legit reason to punish them? persephone is a danger to others, demeter and hermes both committed treason to cover it up, and hades was harboring a fugitive of the law and is now trying to force the system to let her go. how is zeus in the wrong for this?

Just gonna write out all of my ideas for a Sophie and Filip are Twins au

-Filip gardens, and he just enjoys the outdoor and animals, logs all of the bugs he find among his flowers

-Fil is as Popular with the Ladies as Sophie is popular with the Guys

-He gets along ok with Agatha, they would interact minimully but if put into a situation where they had to interact one on one they would get along

-He obviously wasnt chosen to go to the school, and really didn't want to in the first place anyways, but he always tried to support Sophie with her dream of being a princess, if he did he would probably be a Never like his sister

- Sophie is the only one who's allowed to cut and use his Flowers without permission, but there are certain ones that are off limits even to her

- I am personally electing for The Books after the 3rd book do not happen in this au, as well as the Sophie and Agatha are actually sisters doesn't happen/doesn't exist because it's stupid, is never brought up again after its revealed and I simply hate it

- Sophie after becoming the Dean of Evil, she convinces Filip to help her with the redecorating of the Castle, specifically the gardens, he doesn't mind because he gets free food and housing, and he gets to get away from his father

- he doesn't have the best relationship with his dad, having to deal with him while Sophie was at the school, which was mildly unbearable for him

-He also uses Make up, Sophie taught him how to when they were younger and I mean the prettier the better

- His magic would either be Pink or Green, Pink because sometimes twins are like that man, and it would simply be interesting, or green because you know, gardening, plants

- Filip is gay and Sophie is Aro-Ace, she just sort of gives off that vibe, idk man

- most of Filips friendships have been with Women, since as a child he spent his time with his mother and sister, and just stayed close with his sister,and he is kind of awkward around other men

- he's seen as "The Nice Twin" of the two of them, often helping out people with their gardens and such, he has a good reputation

- Sophie is pretty much the same as in the books, maybe a bit snarkier but thats only really with Filip

- similar to how he's outwardly portrayed in the book he's very awkward around other boys and doesn't "Act like a boy"

- despite his reputation as "The nice twin" both him and Sophie have a mean streak, but he's much better at hiding it, backhanded comments and mean things disguised as compliments are what he uses

- Tedros doesnt meet him during his and Agatha's time in their Village, he probably visited only Agatha at some point but felt it really wasn't his business as long as his sister was safe he didn't care

- Tedros meets Filip during a visit to Sophie with Agatha and he absolutely does a double take and once/if they become friends Tedros absolutely ends up with a huge crush on Fil, and his flirting is misconstrued by Fil as being annoying

- quick stuff for my au, Later into the relationship, a little after the end of the 3rd book, Agatha and Tedros realize that they're not in love in the way they thought, they're still "Soulmates" or what ever this book calls it., But the romance was all heat of the moment, they continue for the wedding because the old men who run Camelot would be pissed, but they're relationship is simply very close friends

- They are both planning on seeking out other romantic relationships after the wedding, only continuing the marriage for the "good of the kingdom" Tedros doesn't want to end up in a loveless and unhappy marriage, so they don't try to force themselves to be in love romantically, man I'm just doing this as a dig at the stupid implications of the book saying the most fulfilling relationships have to be romantic, let them be platonic soulmates bestie

- Sophie and Filip's father dislikes them mostly because they remind him of their Mother, and they don't act like he wants them to, Sophie is a boisterous and loud girl who doesn't stay home and cook and clean like he wants her too, and Filip is a sharp but awkward boy who just wants to live a quiet life and garden, instead of chop wood and other manly things like him

Is everything okay?” he asked in a concerned tone. “yeah its just, this stupid soulmate thing.” You sighed turning in your seat to face him. “I get it, my parents would talk my ear off about it all the time, they’ll leave you alone eventually.” He assured you to which you nodded. A part of you doubted his words considering how involved your parents were with your life. But he had already found his, so it was only a matter of time until you found yours. Before you could think about the matter any further the teacher walked into the classroom as the bell rang and ordered the students to get out materials for the lesson.

The sound of the lunch bell rang through your ears, making you jump a bit since you had been dazing off in class. “You coming? we have lunch practice today.” Semi reminded you as he started packing up his things. “Yeah sure, I’m just gonna get a drink at the vending machine really quick. I’m starving.” You told him. He nodded and walked out of the classroom, you trailing behind and walking in the opposite direction to the vending machine. Once you got there you felt around your bag for your clutch where you kept your money.

To no avail, you had forgotten it at home.

You sighed and closed your bag again. “there goes my somewhat lunch” you mumbled and started walking off. “heyy! y/n-chan~” you heard the familiar voice call out from behind. You turned around you saw the red head skip towards you, money in hand. “Didya forget your money at home? Silly y/n-chan. Your always so forgetful!” he teased, slinging an arm around your shoulders. “was it that obvious?” you laughed and looked away in embarrassment. “aw chin up! Here..” he started, putting money into the machine and pressing two buttons. A chocolate milk and a strawberry milk popping out of it. He handed the pink carton to you with a grin. You looked at him for a second and took the carton from his hand, your fingers lingering for a second before pulling away. “Thanks Satori-kun, I really appreciate it.” You said, giving him a small smile. “Now cmon, we’re gonna be late for practice.” You ushered, pushing the straw inside the carton and sipping on the pink liquid. The red head followed behind, little to your knowledge gazing at you with lovestruck eyes and a smile on his face.

It was now nighttime, and you were helping the boys clean up the gym. Mostly helping Goshiki pick up stray balls and putting them back into the cart. After everyone was done cleaning you informed the boys you would be staying back to fold the uniforms that had just finished drying. “Are you sure you don’t want me to walk you to the dorms l/n-san? I don’t mind staying behind.” Ushijima offered as he picked up his shoes from the floor. “Its no problem Ushijima-san, I’ll be fine walking by myself don’t worry. Have a good night!” You reassured him. He gave a bow in return and walked with Tendou towards the boys dormitories. You walked to the washing room and quietly started singing a song you’ve recently been obsessed with while folding the jerseys.

“He's singing, She's a, she's a lady…”

“And I am just a line without a hook…”

“Oh baby I am a wreck when I’m without you”

“I need you here to stay...”

“What was that Tendou-san? A hook with what?” Ushijima asked, making Tendou chuckle. “No no no Wakatoshi-kun…it’s the song my soulmates been singing a lot lately, they just started singing it again right now.” He explained to which Ushijima nodded. “So do you like the song they’ve gotten stuck inside your head?” Ushijima asked, making tendou smile and look up at the night sky littered with stars.

“yeah…it reminds me of someone special.”

For the next few weeks, you kept your soulmate to the back of your mind. Not paying too much mind to it considering you had much more important things to worry about. But when you weren’t singing, your soulmate definitely was. They would sing the strangest songs; you were pretty sure they were all made up but either way they were always in your head 24/7. You even caught yourself humming to some at practice. Okay maybe they were a bit catchy…

“Stray!” you heard someone call out, pulling you from your daze as you quickly moved to the side and let the ball hit the wall next to you. “Sorry about that y/n-senpai!” Goshiki quickly exclaimed in fear that you would be angry. You simply waved at him that it was fine and continued with your manager duties. One of them being updating stats, since it was the start of a new month. You grabbed your notebook and your clipboard and started jotting things down. You soon got to Tendou and started changing his stamina and speed stats, along with his height. Once again you started humming your soulmates song without noticing, which striked coach Saitous attention. “Whats that song you’re singing?” he asked which made you jump from surprise. You mentally scolded yourself again for humming it before answering “Just this song my soulmate got stuck in my head.” You laughed and continued to Shirabus stats. “Your soulmate? Well, if anything I thought that was one of Tendous weird songs he likes to sing on the court.” He added which made you abruptly stop writing. 

Tendous song? No, it couldn’t be. It sounded nothing like them, it was absurd to think hes my soulmate…I mean, I’ve never heard him hum one of my songs, and even if he has I’m sure it’s just a coincidence since we hang around each other a lot-’ your thoughts stopped as you heard the coaches voice again “It seems as though you have some thinking to do y/n-san. But whatever it is, please don’t let it affect the team. I wish you luck on finding your soulmate.” He stated before getting up and calling a 10-minute break. You processed his words for a couple more seconds before scrambling to get the water bottles and towels. Passing them out to each player, coach Saitous words still lingered in your mind. 

“Heya y/n-chan?! Im talking to you!” Tendou said waving his hands frantically in front of your face to get your attention. “H-huh?? Oh sorry I was just thinking.” You said, to which he just laughed and shook his head. “Anyways, I was just wondering if you’ve found your soulmate yet?” He said which had your eyes widening at the unexpected question. “Oh uh..haha yeah well uhh..its not really my main concern at the moment, considering we’re graduating soon and all that-” “but y/n aren’t you eager to know who it is?” He said cutting you off, bringing his face closer to yours. “I-I mean it would be great but its not really my main priority…” you said quietly while looking down at your shoes. “Hm...well I don’t know mine either, and I haven’t even the faintest clue! I just know they love singing this song about a line without a hook. It’s a pretty catchy tune though, Wakatoshi-kun also likes it….” He continued, but you didn’t hear much after that. 

It was him. He was your soulmate. There was no denying it. The songs you were singing, were his. The songs he was singing, were yours. It was all coming together. Your close friend of three years, Satori Tendou, was your soulmate. The person you were supposed to spend the rest of your life with. The person you would get married to and have kids with. okay so i finished love, victor a while ago and i saw some other reviews and thoughts about it here so now i've got a pretty good list on my thoughts and feelings.

tl;dr: it has some issues, yes, but im gonna hold out and hope it gets better later on because the same thing happened with the first few eps, i wasn't that into it but then it got good, and nothing is ever great with the first season, because at that point we're getting used to those characters.

⚠️caution: spoilers ahead (im on mobile, i cant get an under-the-cut)⚠️

1. while a leah on the offbeat movie would have been amazing movie sequel (even tho i havent read the book yet, im just here for the wlw content) i am kind of glad we got this instead. mostly because I've seen book series where one movie was good, so they decide to do the rest, turn out bad (hunger games? divergent? percy jackson? the hobbit?) because so much was cut from the book-to-first movie writing, that other scenes wouldn't make sense to future movies if they had those in while cutting others. however, i am sad that i didn't get to make the choice of deciding whether what was cut was wrong etc. about future movies, but i'll take what i can get.

2. LGBTQ+ POC as a lead! that's amazing! as a ace/bi lantina that's close to home (it also is great that victor's from texas and so is ya gorl) and even then it's a mixed latinx family! i think pilar mentioned that at least the grandmother left Colombia and i saw the Puerto Rican flag in victor's room. also the salazar's are definitely from small town texas, even without knowing the name. (church barbeques, the use of the words "such a diverse city" in regards to atlanta)

3. a lack of actual lgbtq+ main storylines (so far) is kind of sad for a show like this. i was getting serious bi/pan vibes (as a lot of other people) from victor from the beginning, and when it was implied that victor was actually gay (while great, not shaming) as it has been brought to my attention, there was a lot of looking at a lot of straight relationship problems (please let us know more about benji)- edit 6/18: upon further consideration, it very much is a show about questioning your sexuality, I'm speaking about the other straight relationship issues, not mia and Victor's, its just the first season.

4. let us talk about cheating for a sec. never okay, in any circumstance. i feel sorry for mia that she saw victor making out with benji and the fact that he was doing any of that in the first place. victor made a choice to lie about the espresso machine and then kissed benji at the hotel and then when benji was fighting with derek, basically confessed his love and mistakes, then proceeded to makeout with benji after he broke up with derek, he built that grave and now he must lie in it. i get having feelings for a guy when you are in a relationship with a girl, and not accepting yourself enough to end that relationship but you really want it to work so you can be "normal". really, he should have told mia after he got back from the trip tho. i get being in highschool and doing stupid stuff and making dumb decisions, but for a show aimed at teens i think we should also remind said teens to make good choices even if we have to lose some realism within the character choices.

4. pilar and her decisions based off her brother pissed me off. because i honestly think that if she'd kept her mouth shut about what she knew or confronted victor about it in the first place we could have avoided a LOT of mess. did she not learn from snooping around her mother's business about her relationships that going behind a person's back doesnt end well? i did, however, like the pilar/felix friendship and was really kind of hoping that they'd get together during their coffee hangout (although now im glad that didn't happen) because they had a deeper understanding of each other. same with wendy/felix, although they do seem to much alike to work out in the long run but i still feel bad for wendy.

5. i don't know how i feel about lake and andrew, as people separate from each other. both seem to be the way they are from their upbringing (not confirmed why andrew is such an ass, but if his comment about his dad is anything to go by i bet it's got something to do with attention) but andrew seems to be less, idk, superficial? like he turned down mia because he didn't want to be a rebound, he didn't out victor, he actually stood up to early teasing the other dudes in the lockerroom were doing at victor (with teasing of his own obviously but that interaction had him on my nice list until much later). lake? lake. i honestly don't have an opinion of her? not really. i mean after hanging out with pilar i was hoping felix wouldn't go back to lake. is her name laken? i feel like her full name is laken. but they also played the "im only like this because my mom is really superficial about stuff and i do like the geeky nice guy but appearances" to "actually screw the norms im gonna makeout with him infront of the whole student body". i honestly thought she was gonna be bi because she kept hitting on mia when she was helping set up for her "date" and "big night" and there was one point where i saw her face fall at something mia said in relation to her and idk i was hoping she'd be bi (i figured early on that victor/mia wasnt gonna work and was like "oh mia/lake would be cute" but now idk.

6. okay on to the "big night", i have one word. NO. i didn't like the peer pressure into having sex. i agreed with felix when he said "your body your choice" but im also disappointed that victor made out with mia and when lake was talking to felix after victor left he didn't try to stand up for victor.

7. on to age gaps because i hadn't really thought of this at first. we'll start with benji/derek: WHAT GRADE IS BENJI?! because that determines my thoughts. if he's a sophomore that meant that he and Derek started dating benji's freshman year and thats eugh, don't do that, don't care if its a gay couple that shouldn't be happening because the maturity of the two characters is DRASTICALLY different (this is also a reason i am not a fan of cmbyn) but that would explain why they were so rocky. hoping the event at the gay bar was open to anyone not just for drinking, but not liking that fact that not one of the adults with victor were like: hey, this is a 16 year old, that's kind of wack when that dude was hitting on victor. that made me question some stuff. although i figure it might be making up for the lack of a gay bar scene in love, simon. but even then, in svthsa it's a restaurant with a bar that some people go to just to drink at, it wasn't just a bar, simon could be there but should NOT have accepted drinks from college kids, not matter how attractive.

8. i loved how bram and simon and their friends helped victor out though. i like how bram was like: hey i know my friends are a lot so here's a gay basketball league becaue there's no one way to be gay. i like how Simon talked about needing help himself just to help victor and how he said his friends were cool with it because it's a community. i like of justin(?) mentioned how being what his parents wanted was putting on a mask and pretending, not him doing drag. my favorite lines from that ep are: "and before you ask my pronouns are they/them/theirs" "'they're all gay? even that guy? he's like [insert really tall number]' 'yeah. you should see him in heels'" "or in simon's case: really unathletic" "and also because bram said that if i wore [the jean jacket] one more time he'd burn it". also katya was there. and the group hug too!

9. the back hand homophobia in relation to family is sad, but realistic and i sincerely hope his parents are kind enough not to be too harsh on victor because of it. anything they say that isn't positive or supportive of victor is bad but i hope they realize that there is more to him than that and that they can come to terms with it because it's not always that hard to be a part of that community and super religious. i am biromantic and catholic. and while there are some things i wont agree on my mom with, i know that it's more of a strike against God for kicking out gay kids from families than it is to be gay, because those parents were given trust by GOD to love those kids no matter what, and be good parents. so in the end, the parents are wrong and harmful and in the case of christians against jesus's teachings to love everyone.

10. this is fan speculation but dont think simon/bram are going through a rough patch? i honestly think it'd be a little cruel to the characters to have on of their actors be producing but then not have that relationship stay. and while it's not set in stone and obviously things happen in the real world, we have no proof script wise about there being a rift. all we have are bad photoshopped ig photos and scenes where two characters are never standing next to each other probably beccaue schedules never link up correctly for minor characters. who knows, maybe nick robinson was filming for a movie where is does have an even more major role than victor's gay guru in a series about victor so his filming time was around that. im gonna keep hope that things are okay.

11. that being said: we need more mainstream wlw content, because someone said it earlier and it really does seem to be catering to straight girls. i'll admit i did freak out when benji played call me maybe which is something i associated with him and victor but then kissed a guy because who wouldn't? we get that serenade and sweetness and then it'a ripped from us. but i did mellow out. if i flipped later it was because victor was making dumb decisions and i had to give myself a moment of compsure before i continued.

in the end, i'd say that there is a lot of growth this series needs to go through, but i also know that some people just aren't going to like it and i get that. but i also know that sometimes the best of stories have rocky starts, nothing is ever perfect from the beginning. and besides, further seasons are on hold until we figure out this covid thing, which means that you bet they're gonna be looking at our feedback. they saw what we thought before, they can do it again

i really did like it but we need more ACTUAL lgbtq+ relationship stuff from this series and better decisions on what we are teaching the younger generations, as well as what we want to focus on and realism within characters. i'm giving it an 8/10, because there is always room for growth and i really hope we get better things out of this than what we have been given in season 2.

At the start of the books, she’s kind of... sleepwalking through life? like, she was in a not-great place mentally for most of her teens and didn’t really have a plan for the future but law enforcement was definitely not it? She isn’t feeling super passionate about what she’s doing and it kind of sucks to not have joy in purpose :( luckily that’s changing and is gonna be a significant part of her journey through the series!

Her apartment is cluttered but clean and she knows where everything is, if someone moved one of her things she would not be able to find it and it would bother her until she located it

She’s not stubborn exactly? Like she’ll concede an argument if it’s not super important to her and has no problem with losing or backing down in many cases; she’s pretty open minded in that respect, but if something is central to her values then she will Die before she backs down

On that note she’s overall a very logical person but when it comes down to it she'll follow her heart/first instinct

Does not care about rules or procedures At All, she'll follow them if it suits her end goal but otherwise... nope

Lowkey she… did not care about the reveal? it was a surprise but not her first priority in the moment- she kind of already thought UB was sketchy and didn’t trust them, so mainly she was pissed off that Rebecca had sent them to babysit her instead of actually help solve the murders

Speaking of Rebecca their relationship is kind of yikes. Kira isn’t exactly mad that Rebecca was gone so often, but she does think that she kind of forfeited her parenting rights and was annoyed that Rebecca was interfering with her life; first by getting her on the force and then by dropping UB on her. So now it’s Very Awkward between them because Kira doesn’t want to be like… mean but honestly what is there to say?? They’re trying but neither of them like to share personal information so it’s rough

On the subject of sharing, she just… genuinely doesn’t like to open up. Like, it doesn’t come naturally and in her mind it’s just… nobody else’s business what she’s feeling/what’s going on in her life

Genuinely does not realize that people care about her unless they openly tell her lmao... sad hours but at this point in the story she honestly doesnt think that any of UB cares abt her beyond their job besides the one she's dating :(

She’s sarcastic and makes a lot of snarky comments, but generally she’s pretty honest unless she doesn’t want to talk about something (in which case she’ll brush it off and deflect or change subjects) which is why it annoys her so much when people are willfully dishonest or conniving

Pretty adaptable and capable of rolling with the punches but she generally dislikes surprises and being the center of attention

genuinely she's pretty chill! and a Huge enabler of chaos as well, like unless it's specifically bothering her she's gonna let it happen and mostly she thinks it's pretty funny to watch from the sidelines

in short she's basically like a feral cat who stares suspiciously at everyone from a distance until they successfully pspspsps their way into her heart and then she would die for them <3 but if she's mad she will make direct eye contact while shoving glasses off the counter

“Listen you’re a good guy-“.

“Great guy but do continue dollface”.

“...Great guy...but I don’t want to date you, Jas. I can’t. I’ve seen what drugs do to people and how people act on them. Selling them as well? It’s...it’s too dangerous”.

“So?”.

You raise an eyebrow at that. So? So everything! Was he seriously not getting it? “So? So it’s a huge issue for me! I’m not dating someone who’s- who’s gonna just hurt me and blame me for shit!.”

Jaspers emerald eyes pierce yours as he leans up from the counter he so loved to lean on when he’d listen to you talk at work. He’s a little above six feet, and for once decides to straighten his posture to show it.

“Don’t. Fucking. Compare me”.

The words were cold, stern and harsh. They sliced into you a bit, making you feel like maybe you pissed him off more than you meant too. Honestly, telling someone no on a date is hard enough but Jasper is the one person you genuinely think would kill someone over it. Funny as you’ve yet to find out his second pastime.

You stammer a bit, unable to look him in the eye for longer than a second as you try and think of what to say.

“Jas, I didn’t mean- it’s not like that I just-“. Ugh, get the words out! Quit being so shy! He’ll just pick on you and make you feel dumb!

“You think I’d ever fucking lay a hand on you?” The redhead asked, reaching over the counter to tilt your head up to meet his gaze. It was burning, with something dangerous behind it, something carnal and devilish. It made your heart drop to your stomach.

“Cute as always. Never knowing what to think and trying to be a big bad wolf like me”. He leans closer, tracing the pad of his thumb over your lips, eyes fixated on them for a moment before he looks you in the eye again.

“You’re just my little lamb. I’d never hurt you. Mmm but this wolf does love the idea of using his mouth on you” he half jokes, feeling the heat in your cheeks against his skin as he continues to hold your face.

You’re lost for words, mouth wanting to stay agape and hit the floor if Jasper wasnt holding it currently. You shouldn’t be surprised at this though, Jaspers known to do and say crazy and off the wall things constantly. This? Should be an average tuesday for the town, but for you it felt like you might actually have set something off.

“I’m-no”.

Jasper chortles at your stammer, and brushes his lips against your ear to give you shivers as he whispers. “What was that? Is my little lamb trying to deny me?”.

Fuck him and how he made you feel hot and nervous and completely make you forget how you managed to go from zero to one hundred in this situation.

“No. No Jasper. Until the drugs are gone and you’re...y’know...sober, I won’t date you”.

Jasper hums against your neck in response, letting his lips leave a few kisses before he reluctantly pulls away. He wanted to smash his lips against yours but he already crossed enough lines to get him banned by your manager if they watched the cameras. Maybe next time you two hang out, if he can salvage this.

“...you really think I do as many drugs as I sell?”.

Wait. Doesn’t he? He always makes jokes about it!

“Well duh! What else am I supposed to think?!” You shout, flabbergasted. “What? Do you not get high? I’m sure you have more crackhead energy than anyone in town!”.

Jasper laughs at that, with a genuine smile that made you feel slightly less scared about him jumping off the deep end and just robbing the store. Who knows? Maybe he just sells them. To be fair you’ve only seen him do a few puffs of a joint and steal some muscle relaxers.

He doesn’t do drugs often. Not as often as you’re paranoid about. If he does anything hardcore it’s usually to make an ally less worried about his intentions and to ease their nerves about him possibly being an undercover pig.

You bite your lip, thinking it over and over while he sits there with a smug expression. No. No you still can’t trust him. You want too, he’s a great friend, who’s flirting technique isn’t fair for the rest of the people in their twenties and thirties. You need to stand your ground otherwise he’ll believe he can walk all over you!

“Well I’m happy about that but it’s still no Jasper. Please, just change the subject”. You were sounding more frustrated than you meant too, but it did the trick. Jasper backed away and easily began talking about the other locals in town and how he wants to name a stray black cat in his apartment area a funny name. You two naturally forget anything awkward and worrying just occurred, and can move on for now.

Well, YOU move on and forget his antics. He’s stuck on it. Obsessing over it and wondering how he can make it work without risking lives in the process. It’s easier said than done to abandon a small empire of hit-men and drug dealers. Him leaving abruptly could cause people to think he’s a law abiding citizen and that’s just an insult! A deadly insult! He could get shot if he left!

Or stabbed or ran over or something else more creative he couldn’t care less to think about.

Jasper sighs as he rolls over in his bed, eyes burning a bit from staring too long at his phone. Maybe he should be more secretive? He’s sure Lee would be benefitial as a friend to move drugs in a more lucrative way. Rich people do drugs more than anyone he knows, especially soccer moms. God he hates them.

Alright. Then it’s settled. He’ll get help from his doctor friend to make his business more booming and underground, and then steal you away once the scheming begins.

And if you say no again? Well he knows a guy who can get him some chloroform and rope. It pays to have connections in this town after all.

Low approval DA:I companions and advisers react to receiving a backhanded compliment from the Inquisitor

Mostly it's just "oh you think you're slick, huh?" but thats a cheap answer. Enjoy! -Mod M

Blackwall: Well he deserved that one. Honestly, Blackwall won't really protest being given a backhanded compliment or two. At least the Inquisitor was nice enough to be a little nice about it, rather than just up and insult him. He's just gonna store that comment right here, in his heart, and then he's gonna eventually die.

Cassandra: She's done a lot of work for them and the Inquisition, and now she's getting this too? She gets a particularly stern frown, letting out a noise of disdain and going back to whatever she was working on (likely training or checking a map). Honestly, she ignores it after a couple minutes and it doesn't really bother her later.

Cole: He honestly only catches on that it's backhanded because the Inquisitor doesn't really like him and he can tell. Its mean, but he mostly shrugs it off. Sometimes people just don't like other people, and there isn't much you can do.

Dorian: Ah! Tevinters favorite pastime, being sarcastic and backhanded. Inquisitor, you've quite possibly just stepped in over your head, Dorian's got this down pat. You've started a whole snark-off if you want to keep going down this path (and I don't recommend that).

Iron Bull: Dont think he doesn't know, he just doesn't particularly care. Its nothing new, and he's probably heard something similar from some asshole noble before. If its particularly creative, he may even start laughing honestly. Well that's a new one!

Sera: "Yeah, well, er... your mom!" She tries to come up with something good, but can't really. There's a good chance she comes up with something better while she's getting ready for bed or something, and starts grumbling a bit that she didn't think of it sooner. She holds onto that for next time, and just puts a bucket of water above the Inquisitors door for now.

Solas: Really? How immature. He was probably saying something or another about the Fade or spirits when the Inquisitor piped up, prompting him to pull a particularly judgemental face and shake his head. He made a quick return comment about how the Inquisitor would do well to try learning, but tried to leave it at that.

Varric: Hey, at least it (probably) wasnt about his height. Look at you, being creative! Listen, he spends a good amount of time thinking up interesting exclamations and insults, hes probably got some comment to send right back if he decides to.

Vivienne: Vivienne is the second worst person to start this with, partially because she has only slightly more to lose from a misstep. The Inquisitor brings a lot of influence, even if they are a pest sometimes. She mostly goes the "its so brave that you just wear anything" route tbh

Cullen: Not the first time, not the last time. A lot of mages he's worked with in the past have given him countless backhanded compliments, he honestly tunes them out most of the time. He has bigger things to focus on than someone being snippy, even if it's the Inquisitor. He has to deal with Inquisition troops, he's busy!

Josephine: Shes hurt, but this kind of thing is common in politics. Shes also used to it, and isn't too vengeful about it. The Inquisitor is under a lot of stress, and people can be unpredictable sometimes. Unprecedented times, unprecedented people, yes?

Leiliana: She will make the Inquisitors life slightly more uncomfortable until she feels she's had her revenge. Sleeping? I hope you don't mind a bird sitting outside your window just... staring at you and being really loud at the crack of dawn. Your chairs also happen to be just a tiny bit squeaky every time you move, among other small annoyances.
