For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.

i've just seen another post asking what the gender neutral or nonbinary word is for "sir" or "ma'am" and i'd like to put forth "em" as a solution.

"sir" comes from sire, "ma'am" comes from "madam." "em" then, comes from "eminence" as in "will that be all your eminence?" or "will that be all em?"

it's short and quick to say, like both sir and ma'am, and it's gender neutral and stems from a word denoting nobility like both sir and ma'am

I kinda super despise Homelander being a Trump allegory. Like HL to me feels more human than Trump which is probably because HL is fictional and we can project our wants and feelings onto him. And I say this as a queer woman. I just hate how because of the political weirdness it's taken on, I just feel kinda icky talking about The Boys anymore or recommending it especially after the last season. Like HL has done some heinous shit but that fictional distance and backstory and watching his descent into further madness just feels like comparing him to that orange asshole is a disservice to HL lol

don't worry, you're among friends! we all hate the trump allegories. they don't make sense if you look at it even a LITTLE critically. Homelander is a victim and a byproduct of hyper capitalism and the commodification of human life. the abuse he suffered and the crimes he commits are larger than life, but very much fictional.

vs the very real harm and evil perpetuated by trump in the real world. like... what are you even DOING, kripke? are you trying to make trump sympathetic, or are you trying to turn your very successful and nuanced antagonist into a nonsensical joke? what is the endgame here???

it's just such a shame honestly. a fucking waste. at least we have antony begging kripke to knock it off and let homelander stand on his own feet as a complex character.

This started off as a joke and a ‘haha if they were a couple they’d be cranky all the time’ and it just kind of. Torpedoed itself off the coast into a full-blown in-depth ship with development and we’re losing our minds.

So of course we threw this together, Star drew the many Sidias, the wedding drawing above and the adorable bonding moment in the post below, I drew Quivers and handled the graphic design portion. This was insanely fun to do aaaaa 💕💕💕

I've seen "comebacks" where people say "Go do a "Roman salute" in a crowd", "go do it in front of a Jewish person". I just saw a video of someone saying, "Better yet, find yourself a synagogue, and go do the "Roman salute", and see how that goes... bet you won't."

You are putting Jewish people in danger. You, leftist who thinks you're being so smart and witty with your comeback, are encouraging neo-nazis to threaten Jewish people. "Better yet"? Go find a synagogue? Go find a synagogue, go there to do the Nazi salute, and that's the better option you're suggesting to them? What you're doing is telling a Nazi that they need to actively harm Jewish people to prove their beliefs to you, and I can tell you that encouragement is embraced by them.

Something we don't talk enough about is how Viktor's guilt for Sky's death brings him to do all of this with the whole "she had such dreams..." pretext, but in the end she ends up just becoming Viktor's dream. Viktor's assistant once again until she dies for a second time. At the end of the day, Sky's just a concept for Viktor. She's humanity. She's the message he wants to offer, despite not being her own message at all and choosing it for her. She's this perception he has of partner, this dynamic and relationship he can't have anymore with Jayce that he projects onto Sky but it's not the same so it's just him choosing and her following. "I will miss our talks" / "No you won't" is after all Viktor letting go of his humanity but in Sky's POV I believe it's more of a "no, yes, I know you won't. These weren't our talks".

*sigh* Apparently there's yet another website scraping fics from AO3 for AI, and as if this were not enough, it is also a phishing scam, asking for personal information when authors request their work to be taken off the site. AO3 (once again) have said there's nothing they can do.

I have resisted locking my fics for as long as I could, but every week there seems to be something else trying to scrape fanfics and feed them to AI and it's just surreal at this point. I know it's not a perfect solution but I'll be locking my fics and making them visible only to registered users for the forseeable future. Just a heads up!
