Epic the Musical fans, I'm gripping you by the shoulders to tell you that Penelope has a sister who she is very very close with in the Odyssey who was named Iphitimene.

Not only a sister, but in each myth she is in, she has a lot of brothers. At least around 4 or 5.

The Potential for Eldest daughter Pen, Middle child Pen, and/or baby sister Pen is ENDLESS!!!

She is also half-naiad at the very least (in most myths) with her mother being a river nymph named Periboea. She can even be 3/4th naiad if you go with the myth of her father, Icarius, being the son of Bateia, another naiad.

I feel like I should make this clear.

Yes Junjie was the dark slinger for 20 years old making him in years being Alive 36

And Eli being 16 means I shouldn’t be shipping them.

But how I perceive it. Junjie didn’t age mentally or physically and the Goon controlled him for those 20 years. Junjie showed no way of fight to gain control (unlike Eli) so I believe he was in a limbo state. Not aging.

So to me Junjie is still a child. I get why people don’t ship it especially because Junjie seems more “mature” (main reasoning) but have a look at Junjie‘s culture growing up. He was destined and trained since he was young to be the Eastern Champion taking on the trope of “growing up to fast” and not really getting to be a child

I get where some of you interpret this idea, but Junjie at 16 (before the attack on the eastern caverns) he was a mentor towards the younger kids of the east, as he matured faster then the rest of the gang would of have to. Taking on more responsibilities when Eli had only been living in Slugterra for a year.

I’m not saying you don’t have to change your view, but look at it from a different angle

one thing the asoiaf/got/hotd fandoms are going to do is completely miss the point of the story being told; the complexities of the characters; the imprisonment of the monarchy, classism, intergenerational trauma, bloodlines, and misogyny.

somehow millions of people love the shows and books and yet, cannot for the life of them be able to figure out why the characters maneuver the way they do. it’s being highlighted again just how much the mark is missed within the fandom based on how alicent and rhaenyra are talked about. sure, have your takes. dislike one, love the other. but the character analysis that follows with the reasoning as to why you feel the way you do about a character (especially the female characters) seems to sometimes lack the actual context that is given.

look at how women are treated. look at the ages of the characters. look at how everyone is just a pawn in someone’s game. look at the relationships amongst the families. look at how literally a fucking title and iron throne can control someone’s values because that’s what they’ve been taught is priority.

once again: nothing wrong with having different perspectives on the characters, but for the love of god, please look at the dynamics of the environment these characters are in and ask yourself: well, how could they respond to this in this way if they’ve never been taught anything different?? what other options do they have if they’ve never been given them?? if they are aware of other choices— how can they release themselves from the shackles they were born into when everyone else around them either supports it or is nonchalant because “it’s the way things are”. how can you expect a lone wolf to go into a room of armed hunters and beg to be spared?? ask yourselves these things, then maybe you’ll finally understand why alicent is who she is and why rhaenyra is who she is.

like both interpretations are bad but also bc they refuse to acknowledge a middle ground where sure hofnarr may be “willingly” working towards the goals of a dictatorship and practicing lobotomies but shes also straight up probably a furry, same as how tricky may like to play and draw but it also likes ripping peoples spinal cords and lungs out and mixing it all with her own

The ending of The Water Nymph was a disappointing lack of girl power in a way that felt less like comic-esque commentary on gender roles and more like a straight up cop-out, but in the very least Mrs. Fillyjonk throwing her pickaxe to the ground and huffing almost saved it for me.

She should've thrown the pickaxe in Moominpappa's direction, though.

the thing abt red white and royal blue is that the premise is fucking stupid. however, reading the book i was able to more or less look past it bc i really enjoyed the characterisation and the way the story was built and the dynamics between all the characters, but when you make a movie and you erase key character elements, take away the chemistry, and refuse to focus on family (biological and chosen) dynamics for more than a second, while everything is also being incredibly badly acted. what do you have left? the stupid plot, which just does not hold up
