I have critical thoughts that clearly remind me I am Fandom Old™️ and I cannot put them here. I’ll have to eat them and pretend eating glass tastes good.
#one of the many things to write an essay on one day#where’s that really long post about fandom engagement and how no one owes people anything?#I feel like that needs to be paired with a reminder to be creative and spread your wings and try#don’t u ever wanna challenge urselves with your ideas like what r we doing anymore#chasing dopamine instead of considering characterization and the context in which characters exist makes for a shallow experience#it’s just a behavior that’s been building up over the years and it’s why so many of us cook our own food and explore so many ideas#idk I come from a time where it was about wish fulfillment AND making it feel immersive???#idk I feel like it’s uncommon to try nowadays and the wider swath of fandom is just full of watered down everything
