Love in the Big City needs to STOP MAKING ME CRY seriously I can’t afford tissues!!!!! Started not even a minute in with Yeong’s friend fixing his funereal cuff and cried again at the end because I KNOW IT CAN’T LAST.

Yeong’s depression really gnawed at me in this episode. I said last time that I noted how dark it was compared to eps 1-2. This time, though it is generally darker, the colors are also way more washed out/muted. Way more extreme close-ups and abrupt cuts, too.

GASPED when Yeong said he worried about Gyu-ho tasting his blood… y’all. I knew it was likely Kylie was HIV but I was not ready!

So many thoughts already but I’ll save my ramble for tomorrow……..

I loove the android robin au it's really one of the most interesting au I have seen in a while.

Also making my favourite characters go through hell and then receiving comfort from their people is like the best thing ever for me so every time I see a whump!Robin post I like automatically

People loving android!Robin makes me so happy anansnssndsnsns she's curious and excitable and full of wonder and the world keeps punishing her for simply being alive. Sometimes it's too painful even for me, big whump lover 😭😭 though seriously, there is not enough Robin whump, and while all the characters in the show are very whumpeable, hurting my little blorbo Robin feels special because... she's just so deeply lonely. She's lonely and she thinks she deserves to be because of something wrong with her (pulling this interpretation from Surviving Hawkins lore which is canon to me 😭). That was a big idea I had when I first came up with android!Robin... that there is something wrong with her. Broken. In this AU she's literally broken in a lot of way (battery and memory problems, weak joints in her lower half, etc), but that's all within the range of normal robot problems. The real issue with her is that she's sentient. It terrifies people because it really brings out the existencial horror of... well, existing. It terrifies Robin most of all. She is the problem. She is what's wrong with her. She shouldn't exist.

But at the same time, she loves being alive so much! She doesn't understand it and doesn't know how it happened, but it happened, and now she's real and wants to experience life and the world and know people like human beings do. So it's her constant battle to become human despite humans having hurt her so much in the past... only for Nancy to already see her as human. Just one made of metal and plastic, but human nonetheless. She's the first person to see her that way and maybe everyone else thinks she's crazy, but Nancy is used to that. She's so sure of this, though, of Robin's self-awareness. She trusts her so blindly. She doesn't even need proof. And not only does she believe her, but she defends her humanity in front of her friends and family so ardently, fighting so hard for Robin to be aknowledged by everyone else as human. Fighting so hard to give her a home and family for the first time in her life.

Nancy has it bad for Robin, really. She's just so in love, even if everyone else thinks she's crazy for falling in love with a machine (no one thinks she is, though, because they all know Robin, and once you know Robin, it's impossible not to love her).

I've ranted a whole lot about the importance of physical media in the past. I love physical media. I have a CD and vinyl collection of stuff from my favorite bands, and am currently getting back into reading and found I vastly prefer physical books over both ebooks and audiobooks. I got the entire DVD box of ATLA last year just so that I can watch it whenever I like.

But it took me until today to realize that the reason why is because of how badly all these digital streaming service-platforms have affected me.

Like, I found art from a webcomic a while ago that I thought looked really interesting, but have been putting off reading the thing for MONTHS. I couldn't quite put my finger on why until I found out yesterday that there are printed, physical copies for sale of the entire webcomic itself in book format. And despite absolutely insane shipping costs, I could at some point buy it, and keep it.

And now I finally started reading it, and I'm loving it.

Turns out, I would rather put myself through sickening, nauseating FOMO than risk the piece of media getting taken off the platform it's available on in the middle of me reading/watching it.

I now need me an extensive documentary or video essay about the history of the Transformers franchise. In the real world I mean, not the lore itself

The beginnings, the high and low periods of the franchise, the struggles, the inspirations and thought processes of how each iteration came to be, the culture surrounding the time period of each series and how that influenced their iterations at the time. And this extends to all corners of the franchise as well, between the toys, comics, cartoons and movies

The g1 Season 1 DVD I got has a featurette about some of the origins of the franchise, called Triple Changer: From Toy to Comic to Screen, and I really liked it, (and Season 2 has a featurette as well) but I need more. I need a complete, detailed history of the entire thing up to this point in time
